Located in Fairfield County, with neighboring metropolitan cities, Westchester and New Haven 35 minutes away. MaryGold's on Main offers the picturesque charm and elegance of a historic venue, while also offering a modern flare to the design in the interior. The rich mahogany accents complement the modern details with hues of navy-blue fabrics and brushed gold fixtures. The rich history and origin of the venue dates back to the 1820's, when it was first the home to Newtown's famous philanthropist Mary Hawley. In 1871 the quaint home went under its first renovation, which doubled the property in size. From 1930 to 2016 the home was transformed into a restaurant and inn until changing ownership for the third time in 2020. The Neugold's purchased and renovated the town's jewel on Main, keeping its historic charm, but updating the interior into a modern piece of art. The venue offers four function spaces, and the possibility for a full buyout for weddings and larger gatherings. Located on the quaint and idyllic Main Street in Newtown, CT the venue's neighbors include two churchs and a historic ceremony venue, The Meeting House. MaryGold's on Main offers on-premise catering provided by the talented culinary team under the leadership of Chef Neugold. The menu is complemented with the unique creations from our in-house Mixologist creating the perfect marriage between beverage and food. Whether toasting near the stone fireplace in the Gladiolus Room or dancing in a room adorned with rich mahogany, MaryGold's unique spaces will provide the perfect backdrop to your special day.

We held the brunch after our wedding here and everything went super smoothly. Lauren and Christy were fantastic in helping us coordinate everything and the event itself went over perfectly! The food was also delicious and was more than enough for the 50ish people that attended.

This is a review of our wedding that took place at Marygold’s on October 14th, 2023. The headline here, to get right to it, is that it was absolutely perfect in a year that was anything but perfect for us. Having dealt with the loss of the bride’s mother, the groom’s mother’s cancer diagnosis, and the groom losing his job, 2023 was anything but ideal – but Marygold’s helped us end the year on an incredible high note, giving us an amazing wedding night that we’ll never forget. There is no shortage of wedding venues or wedding planners out there in the world. Early on, we knew that our special day must have had an environment that encompassed a warm, intimate vibe, and incredible food was a must for our celebration. Being familiar with Marygold’s in the past, we knew what to expect from the restaurant, the food, and the service, which is to say – some of the best out there. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, the cocktails expertly made, and the staff always warm and welcoming in a charming, classy setting. We were surprised to learn that they did weddings, and that they had their own in-house planner/coordinator, so we immediately set up an appointment.Our initial consultation with their planner Christy Glovaski was professional, friendly, and conversational. She asked meaningful, insightful questions that not only showed the breadth of her experience with planning, but also that she understood the importance of honoring the personal, emotional decorative touches that we hoped to achieve. Throughout all stages of planning, Christy’s communication was clear and frequent, her efforts to remove stress were effective, and we went into the day of our celebration with complete confidence.On the day of the wedding, Christy was at the venue first thing in the morning, directing vendors, contributing her input on decorations and placement, and proactively working to help our vision come to life. her experience and judgment shined, with the venue setup aligning perfectly with what we discussed in our past meetings. Throughout the off-site ceremony and the reception, she was decisive, perceptive, and in control while being incredibly thoughtful and timely. Despite uncooperative weather, she did an amazing job of maintaining tight timelines and keeping everything on schedule. The venue came out absolutely beautiful, with so many personal touches found everywhere thanks to her and her team – the bride’s dress was gorgeously hung in the bridal suite before the party arrived, emotive tributes to loved ones lost were spread throughout the venue, and our vision couldn’t have turned out better. And when we experienced issues with the bride’s gown due to improper bustling, Christy was there to help her throughout the night, pinning her dress and checking in to make sure everything was alright. The food was exceptional – fresh ingredients put together beautifully and expertly prepared. The cocktails were expertly crafted and the bar service wonderful thanks to Ryan and team. At no point did we ever have to concentrate on anything other than our wedding parties, our guests, and the celebration of our special day, and it was thanks to her and the entire Marygold’s team. Marygold’s is a phenomenal group of consummate professionals that just “get it.” It still means the world to us after an otherwise tough year, and always will.

We have Marygold’s on Main to thank for a perfect wedding day! When choosing a wedding venue, we were looking for a unique space that had its own character along with great food - Marygold’s met this and more. Christy, our coordinator, was on top of the planning from day one and guided us throughout the process. We had fun at the tasting making our own signature cocktails and sampling all the different aspects of the menu. We are so impressed by how seamlessly our wedding day went and it is all thanks to the hard work of the amazing team at the venue - we felt taken care of from the moment we stepped inside and we were able to enjoy our day without stress. Christy did an impeccable job of setting up our decor, and Lauren and Mary were always on hand to make sure that everything else was taken care of! The bridal suite was not only gorgeous but was a great spot to get ready and relax on the day of. We received many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food and amazing service. Plus, the after party at Good Old Days was the best way to end the night. We would absolutely recommend Marygold’s to anyone considering having their wedding here!

Everything about our Marygold’s wedding was amazing. MaryGold’s made our business Christmas gathering absolutely magical. The space was airy and cozy all at once. It was lovely to have our own area, but still feel the festive vibe of the whole venue. The table was decorated beautifully, and the personalized menus were a perfect touch.Christy and Jojo were helpful, professional, and extremely attentive to all of our needs.Our guests continue to rave about the delicious food, and excellent service. If we could, we would give more than five stars! I can't thank Christy and the team at Marygold's enough for making our \"wedding celebration\" perfect! We are beyond happy with how the evening turned out and our guests are still raving about the food and drinks. We were also told numerous times that it was one of the best weddings most have attended. If you aren't familiar with Newtown or Marygold's in general - you absolutely won't be disappointed! It's the cutest place, with lots of character and charm but even more beautiful when decorated for the holidays! We will definitely make sure to consider Marygold's first when planning future events.

Last evening I attended the holiday party my husband helped organize for his State Police barracks at Marygold’s. To say they delivered an amazing evening is an understatement. The decor of the room was elegant with a warm holiday feel. The food, served, upscale buffet style, was something to rave about!! And the cocktails were delightful! All staff was friendly and very attentive and Christy, the event coordinator, was beyond fantastic. She made sure every detail was perfect from the planning to the execution. I would highly recommend Marygold’s for any and all celebrations!

Everything about our wedding was PERFECT thanks to Christy and the Marygold's team. Every detail was taken care of and the day ran so smoothly, it was a dream come true! From the early days of planning, to the wedding day and even after Christy has been there. I cannot recommend this location enough! My coworker has decided to have a bridal shower here after my wedding! All of my guests can't stop raving about the food (everyone LOVED the late night pizza!!) they say it was the best wedding they've been too!

From the early days of planning, to the wedding day and even after Christy has been there. I cannot recommend this location enough! My coworker has decided to have a bridal shower here after my wedding! All of my guests can't stop raving about the food (everyone LOVED the late night pizza!!) they say it was the best wedding they've been too!

I can't even begin to describe how perfect our wedding was at Marygold's. Christy, Lauren, Kyle and the rest of the Marygold's team went above and beyond for me and my husband. The venue is beautiful & charming & full of character. The location on Main Street in Newtown is the perfect backdrop for pictures. I didn't have to stress or think about one thing all day because of Christy. Christy was by our side from the start of the day at 6am until after dinner. She is extremely organized, very detail oriented, responsive and clearly knows how to ensure a wedding day runs according to plan. She coordinated with all of our vendors, arranged my dress & accessories for pictures, ensured we were sticking to time, made sure we had everything we needed in the BEAUTIFUL bridal suite, drove us in her car to where we wanted our pictures taken and ensured my dress & veil were perfect at all times. Before I walked down the aisle we realized we left my veil behind and Lauren SPRINTED to get it in time. The food is absolutely incredible, all of our guests were raving about it. It is not your standard wedding menu! Kyle made us the best signature cocktails and everyone was so impressed with their drinks. He made sure that we had specific alcohol we wanted to be served. We had our after party below at Good Ol' Days, and everyone absolutely loved the pizza served. The people at Marygold's are SO accommodating. Unlike a lot of other venues, you can tell that everyone working at Marygold's truly cares about you and they want you to have the best day of your life. They go above and beyond to create that for you. We felt like they had become our friends. I could go on and on with so many positive things to say, but do not hesitate to book here. Marygold's is the perfect venue!

I need to start from the beginning of my planning, we had another venue booked with a deposit down. We started to go to Marygolds for drinks and dinner, I saw the wedding book on the table and instantly I knew I needed to get married there. I talked it over with my fiance we then made a appointment with Christy and I just knew this was the place! I canceled the other venue we lost our deposit and I didn't care. Christy helped me with coordinating the ceremony at the Meeting house on the same day. My dream wedding was happening. everything thing prior to our event was perfection. Christy returned every email immediately, answered every question big or small, even during her maturity leave. The bartenders are amazing as well as Lauren, Christy right hand, John the manager, the chef and the rest of the staff. We also had our rehearsal dinner there which was perfection. The wedding day was absolutely perfect, as the bride I didn't worry about one thing except having a great time. Our guest describe our wedding as Epic! They Honesty make you feel like family. 100 stars! we cannot say enough positive words about Marygolds.

Marygolds was my dream come true. I was never that girl to think much about her wedding or ever think it would happen to her. But on my day I was a true princess and I owe an infinite amount of thanks to all my vendors, Marygolds being at the top of the list. Let’s start with Christy and Kyle. They entertained all questions we had and responded immediately. Christy played around with the floor plans to figure out what worked best for us. Kyle accommodated our quests’ request for Budweiser. Our private food tasting with the pairing wines was in itself a night to remember. The team didn’t just stay at Marygolds. The men got ready at Dana Holcombe house where we took our photos. We then got married at The Newtown Meeting House. Christy &Lauren were running back and forth between the 3 places helping set up signs, coordinating with vendors and making sure everything was on time. Speaking of time, Christy wrote out an agenda that was given to all the vendors so everyone knew what location to be at and when. I even forgot my bouquet and realized right when I was about to walk down the aisle. Christy ran next door (while pregnant) and made sure I had my flowers! Christy also made sure all vendors received their tips. I really don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have Christy or Kyle.The Bridal Suite. Marygold’s provides a suite for the bridal party to get ready. Hair salon chairs, large mirror, couches and pastries with champagne. I felt like a princess getting pampered for her big day and that’s how every Bride should feel. It started off my wedding day with perfection. During cocktail hour my husband and I were shown the rest of the restaurant where the dinner and dancing would take place. We were speechless. We had flowers coming from the ceiling! Months earlier Marygold’s hosted an event staging what a wedding would look like. This is where we met our florist, Diane Gaudett. I am so glad Christy introduced us because Diane’s work is breathtaking. We worked with Diane on colors & budget but told her that she had full range to do whatever she wanted. They connected on multiple occasions to make sure they had everything they needed to make Diane’s vision come to life. I still can’t believe we had flowers coming from the ceiling. We were eating and dancing in a flower wonderland. THE FOOD! Wedding food is not something people talk about and if they do it’s usually not a compliment. Ours was the opposite. People still talk about our food and how amazing it was. The cocktail hour had an asian and taco station, mini burgers paired with a spike milkshake, goat cheese balls, lambchop lollipops, crab cakes and so much more. Dinner was miso cod with wasabi mashed potatoes and filets that were cooked perfectly. We had a few who were gluten free and some who were pregnant and the chef accommodated everyone’s needs. Everyone’s bellies were full and drinks in hand. The bartenders were so fast and whipped up such amazing cocktails. No one had to wait for drinks. We continued the night dancing the entire time! Dessert was cheesecake balls and a s’more station! The night continued downstairs at Good Ole Days with MORE food and drinksWe have had multiple guests tell us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Christy and Kyle were absolutely godsent. Thank you to them and the entire Marygold’s staff.

Marygold’s provides a suite for the bridal party to get ready. Hair salon chairs, large mirror, couches and pastries with champagne. I felt like a princess getting pampered for her big day and that’s how every Bride should feel. It started off my wedding day with perfection. During cocktail hour my husband and I were shown the rest of the restaurant where the dinner and dancing would take place. We were speechless. We had flowers coming from the ceiling! Months earlier Marygold’s hosted an event staging what a wedding would look like. This is where we met our florist, Diane Gaudett. I am so glad Christy introduced us because Diane’s work is breathtaking. We worked with Diane on colors & budget but told her that she had full range to do whatever she wanted. They connected on multiple occasions to make sure they had everything they needed to make Diane’s vision come to life. I still can’t believe we had flowers coming from the ceiling. We were eating and dancing in a flower wonderland. THE FOOD! Wedding food is not something people talk about and if they do it’s usually not a compliment. Ours was the opposite. People still talk about our food and how amazing it was. The cocktail hour had an asian and taco station, mini burgers paired with a spike milkshake, goat cheese balls, lambchop lollipops, crab cakes and so much more. Dinner was miso cod with wasabi mashed potatoes and filets that were cooked perfectly. We had a few who were gluten free and some who were pregnant and the chef accommodated everyone’s needs. Everyone’s bellies were full and drinks in hand. The bartenders were so fast and whipped up such amazing cocktails. No one had to wait for drinks. We continued the night dancing the entire time! Dessert was cheesecake balls and a s’more station! The night continued downstairs at Good Ole Days with MORE food and drinksWe have had multiple guests tell us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Christy and Kyle were absolutely godsent. Thank you to them and the entire Marygold’s staff.

Marygold's on Main was the perfect venue for my New Year’s Day wedding! I was looking for a quintessential New England wedding venue that wasn’t your standard ballroom. We were able to rent out the entire restaurant for the day giving us complete privacy. My bridesmaids and I got ready in the beautiful upstairs bridal suite while my husband got ready with his groomsmen in a separate suite on site. We were able to keep everyone on-site, but stay completely separated! Christy was an invaluable part of making my wedding day run smoothly. Not only did she answer and calm me with all my questions, but she helped with my bustle during the reception, went with us to the church, and took some fun photographs throughout the event. She was super detailed during the entire planning process and was able to coordinate with all of my vendors. She answered questions very quickly throughout the planning process and was open to any/all ideas we had for our day. The Marygold's staff was so accommodating. They even let me create a hot chocolate bar for my guests to pair with their amazing cinnamon rolls. The food was amazing as well! We had guests tell us that it was the best food they have ever eaten at a wedding, and we agree! The choices go beyond standard wedding food and offered guests a great culinary experience. I can't say enough about how incredible the short rib was as well!! Our after party was held downstairs at Good Old Days. Again, the venue and the food - fantastic. Our guests were obsessed with all the pizzas and can't wait to come back to have more! Christy, Clark, Kate, Patty, Lauren, Mary, and the rest of the Marygold's staff ensured that my wedding day was perfect!

This is the most amazing venue!! There are not enough stars to express the gratitude I have to Marygold’s for making my wedding day absolutely perfect. I wanted an upscale, boutique venue with a warm vibe. I am not a fan of mass produced, cookie cutter weddings. I really didn’t think I’d fine one place to check all of the boxes, but Marygold’s did. I got ready in their beautiful bridal suite. We rented out the entire restaurant for our wedding reception and the adjoining bar, Good Old Days, for an after party. So, I can say with certainty, that they do not leave one detail behind in any capacity. Christy, the event planner, is extraordinary. She made the planning process easy and manageable. She thought of every possible thing and kept everyone on track. Christy ensured I did not have to worry about anything that day except having an absolute blast! Aside from event details, she also took care of me. Made sure I ate, had my fur stole because it was cold out and that I was doing okay. The food was incredible in both taste and presentation. Kyle came up with a great signature drink. Shayne did an awesome job with our after party. He made sure everyone had great drinks, food and fun. All of the servers were pleasant, accommodating and truly happy to be there. With all that being said, I can’t recommended Marygold’s enough. But what I believe truly sets them apart is the people. Every single person working there wants to work there. They are invested in what they do and they are invested in you. The enthusiasm is infectious! To me, that is priceless.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Marygold's on Main and also used their bridal suite and we couldn't have been happier. They were incredibly accommodating and made our wedding day go as smoothly as possible. It ended up raining when we were supposed to be taking pictures and they let us use one of their rooms that was beautifully decorated and were willing to move mountains to make sure we got what we wanted. They provided breakfast and lunch as well as champagne and coffee and anything else we wanted. Could not recommend them highly enough.

After having some difficulty with a previous venue, we decided to book Marygold's about 3.5 months out from our wedding. While I was obviously excited and relieved to have found a big enough and nice space for the event, I was truly not prepared as to how perfect this venue was. Christy and her staff could not have been more prepared, thorough, kind and generous not only throughout my wedding day, but the planning as well. They were unbelievably accommodating, the food was truly excellent, They had vegan options for guests, a wide variety of apps and entrees to choose from, and the most amazing bar. The layout of having the cocktail hour in the main lounge area and then a private room for the reception was spectacular. While the space itself is stunning (they partnered with West Elm!!), nothing would have come together without Christy. She is so knowledgable about wedding planning and thought of everything - she even came to my house and ceremony (which was at a different location) to make sure everything ran smoothly. Having been born and raised in Newtown, it was amazing to get married in the place I love so dearly - right on Main Street! A stunning location with beautiful views of the flagpole and all of Newtown's treasures. I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding. I am so grateful and will forever remember this day. Thank you, Marygold's! I highly suggest you book this venue fast - it is a real gem!!!
