My husband and I got married at the ranch July 2021. We wanted to rent a space for a week to allow friends and family to come, stay as long as they were able and to finish the week off with our wedding. As we were searching for a place to make this happen everything was either incredibly expensive or reserving was overly complicated. The May Family Ranch was the perfect place for us to be able to turn our dream into a reality at a price we could afford. We rented the whole ranch for the week and it suited all of our needs perfectly.We made family-style meals that fed everyone and had ample space to do so between the two big kitchens (in the family room and the patio kitchen), the kitchen in the Miner's Cabin, and the outdoor grills. There is another kitchen in the lodge, but we mostly used it for leftovers so people could help themselves between meals.Guests enjoyed hours of lawn games, time around the fire pit, movie nights, water sliding, and hiking on site. And it was fun to venture off-site for hot springs, white water rafting, horseback riding, rock hounding, and exploring the ghost towns.We had let our guests know ahead of time that they needed to bring their own bedding and towels and had some extra in case anyone forgot. Most people had brought their own toiletries, but we'd brought some extras just in case.Some areas of the ranch didn't have A/C, but even at the end of July it wasn't an issue for our group. Cell coverage was also spotty depending on your carrier, but there was talk of another tower being built nearby. The ranch has Wi-Fi on-site and it was sufficient enough to meet our needs. So many of our guests commented that the ranch was perfect and asked how we'd found such a magical place.Cole and Maddy had just taken over from the previous owners, Paul and Sharon May, in the spring of 2021 and are working to make updates and changes as finances and reservations allow. They were amazing to work with and answered so many questions we had in the months leading up to the event. We are planning to visit the ranch for many years to come as our family grows and I am so excited to see the changes and improvements they make along the way.
