The venue is absolutely stunning and has a unique, whimsical flair that makes it stand out from other classic ballrooms in the city. We’re still fielding endless compliments on how gorgeous the space was – from guests who were there and others who simply saw the photos after the fact. What’s more is that you are in wonderful, capable hands with Lynnelle as your venue coordinator. I got married at the Please Touch Museum in September 2022. The venue is elegant and sophisticated, with a playful twist, but that is not the reason I chose this venue. I chose the most loyal, organized and competent venue coordinator, Lynnelle, and her team at Brûlée. They treated my wedding as if it were their own, catering to everyone in such a warm and professional manner. I truly believe that Lynnelle, Tony and Rosie are part of my family. The food was exceptional and I had many compliments on how the guests loved it too. What I loved the most was how stress free they make your wedding day. The second that you step in the venue, they transform the venue into a magical day. You don’t have to worry about anything because Brûlée Catering does it all. Lynnelle is so helpful and she was super accommodating in making our somewhat unusual vision for the wedding come to life! Considering everything that’s included in the package, I think it’s actually a really good deal price-wise, especially for the area. The staff were all great and our guests raved about the food. It was even better than I could have imagined!!! First of all the building itself is absolutely gorgeous and historic with high ceilings and ornate pillars... you feel like a million bucks just walking in. We had our ceremony in the foyer, our cocktail hour in the carousel house and our reception in memorial hall with blush uplighting, stars on the ceiling, and clouds from the Alice in wonderland exhibit lit in the distance. I felt like I was in a fairy tale. Everyone was amazed at how spectacularly beautiful the venue was. What's more, Chez and Lynnelle were amazing! I must have emailed each of them 100 times and they always got back to me quickly and were super helpful! The food was delicious and I even got feedback from my guests on how impressed they were with how smooth the service was! My favorite thing about this venue is that it's already so beautiful that you don't have to spend a lot on decor to \"dress it up\". We had our ceremony in the foyer, our cocktail hour in the carousel room and the dinner/ reception at Hamilton Hall. Our guests could not stop raving about how good it looked and the fun they had riding the carousel. What makes this venue even better is that you get to work with Tiffany and her team. Becky Yep(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 We had our cocktail hour in the Carousel House at the museum, and our reception in the main hall. Guests LOVED the carousel (it didn't matter young/old, male/female, family/friends, shy/extroverted, EVERYONE was on that thing!) and it made for great photos! The hall was perfect for our large (250 guest) wedding, and the dance floor was spacious enough for everyone to dance, and for special events like our Chinese lion dance performance. Miriam Chung(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-12-2017 I had my wedding in December 2017Overall I had a great time but I mean it's my wedding, so it would really be ridiculous if I didn't. Let's get to the details:PROSBeautiful venue (absolutely stunning)Food was delicious!Staff was great! CONSThe mic during our ceremony was very inconsistent. Most of our audience did not hear the officiant or our speechesThe bar tenders for our wedding did not allow alcoholic shots to be given out during the entire wedding (even when the groom and I asked for one). I thought this was ridiculous considering we paid for open bar the entire night. Mind you, we were NOT obliterated or intoxicated to not warrant this. This was a rule they had since cocktail hour, which I was not informed of. Overall: I would recommend this venue but I would NOT give 5/5 Reviewed on 07-03-2018
Alison McGill(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2017 I reached out to the Please Touch Museum hoping to host my wedding there and ended up communicating with a coordinator who was slow to respond and not detail oriented. I decided to no longer pursue the venue as an option after she advised a family member who was following up on my behalf that she had provided me with information that was needed to proceed, when that was not the case. While it may sound minor, it completely turned me off of the Please Touch Museum and Brûlée Catering. Reviewed on 06-12-2017
Sally Yuan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 We booked the Carousel House for the Cocktail Hour and the Main Hall for the Reception and everything turned out GREAT!Marley and her team were wonderful throughout the entire process. We booked the venue a little over a year before our wedding date. They were very accommodating with some customization of the package that we wished to purchase. As the wedding grew closer, we reached out to Marley more in regards to the tasting, floor layout, menu, signature cocktail, etc. and she and her team were very prompt with responses and also with trying to make the day go as perfectly as possible. The week prior, I probably emailed her a couple times a day to make sure that everything was set, and that drop off of other things (such as table numbers, birdcages, guestbook, bathroom baskets, etc) could be coordinated. Again, everyone was on top of all of the planning and set up and the room looked beautiful on our wedding day! The staff was attentive and we had a day of attendant that would bring us snacks/foods/drinks throughout the night. The staff also let us know when it was time for parent dances, speeches, cake cutting etc. Each and every person made our day go extremely smoothly and we had the perfect time! Would highly recommend not only the venue itself for the beauty and fun atmosphere that it created for us and our guests, but also for the high level of professionalism and individual attention that everyone gave us throughout the entire planning process. We could not have been more impressed with the service and quality. We also worked with Starr Catering for another event and our experience with Brulee at the Please Touch Museum far surpassed any other. We had very specific requests for food and they accommodated us for multiple tastings, including speaking personally with the head chef until we were happy with the menu. And the food was the BEST wedding food anyone had ever had.We worked primarily with Marlee who was incredibly accommodating. We needed a very fast turn around from the time the museum closed to the beginning of our event and they did everything they could do accommodate our florists and get the venue set-up for our event.Additionally, they surprised us on the day of the event with an extra hor d'oeuvre and a bottle of blue label for my husband. And the carousel was a HUGE hit! Some of our guests even asked if we brought in the carousel. We actually had to extend the carousel hours due to overwhelming demand! One huge concern we had was that they wouldn't let us see the venue set-up for a wedding ahead of time and we were underwhelmed by their Open House Event. Emily Welde(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-07-2015 When my husband and I were searching for a reception venue, we both agreed that we wanted something unique to Philadelphia and not your standard ballroom/country club. Originally I had dismissed the Please Touch Museum (PTM) because the most basic package was above what we wanted to spend (we were trying to keep it under $150/head and their packages start at $160/head). We had looked at another popular museum in Philly and were getting ready to book a date when my then fiance realized the price we were quoted was not inclusive of the taxes, service fees, etc. Suddenly that venue was very much out of our price range so I called the representative from Brulee Catering (the exclusive catering company for the PTM) and was told that the $160/head was, in fact, inclusive of all additional fees. \rWhen we toured the venue, we first met our wedding coordinator Marley who works for Brulee. She was very thorough and answered all of our questions and concerns. We booked that week. I know that this sounds silly but one of the things that I loved most about the PTM was that it included your choice of linen for the tables and napkins. Most packages include just basic white linen but we had our choice of different fabric and colors. \rSome of the things that I loved about working with Marley and Brulee was how helpful and attentive she was. Marley helped us through the entire planning process and sent us gentle reminders when she needed information/payments/correspondence from us. She was amazingly good at returning my emails (some of which were definitely after normal working hours); which, especially towards the end of the planning process, was extremely helpful to a stressed bride. Marley has an incredible amount of experience helping to organize wedding and events and it showed in everything she did. I never had any concerns that something would go wrong that she couldn't take care of the day of. She even helped to arrange a special request for me three weeks before the wedding (she did all the leg work for me). \rMy guests and family could not say enough about how nice the reception was. Not only is the venue beautiful and historical, we got to have our cocktail in the carousel room. (Guests even got to ride it...how cool is that?!?) Everyone said that the food was the best wedding food they've ever had (people could not stop talking about the short ribs) and the staff were unbelievable. Its obvious that the staff there are very experienced and everything ran incredibly smoothly. Our maitre de and bridal attendant were absolutely wonderful too. \r\rThe only negative things I have to say is that it is frustrating to work with a specific cateter that upcharges for any additional upgrades or personalization. I know that this is not specific to Brulee but I felt that it was difficult to add personal touches without paying more. Same goes for the uplighting. Again, I know that this is the norm for weddings, I just wasn't happy about it. Also, some of my guests mentioned that it was difficult to get hourves dourves at the cocktail hour because the wait staff came out of a door on one side of the room and trays would often be picked over by the time the waitors reached the middle of the room. Finally, the ceilings are so high that anyone sitting next to the band/speakers had trouble hearing and had to stand up and move to hear speeches. Again, not the PTM's fault, just something I noticed. Just have your DJ/band move the speakers over.\r I love the PTM! Reviewed on 06-08-2015
Naia Cucukov(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-05-2015 Absolutely LOVED our wedding at PTM! First off, the venue is spectacular--where else do you find a working carousel inside a museum for your guests during cocktail hour? Brulee Catering was amazing and the chef even designed a special entree just for us. Marley, the coordinator and day of planner was a dream and even when things got REALLY crazy she was the calm in the storm and so helpful to me. PTM is probably a bit pricier than some other local options but trust me when I say, it will be your dream wedding and worth every penny. Reviewed on 10-06-2015
