Alicia Carreon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-11-2022 The menger was absolutely fantastic as our venue!! They took care of decorations and made the catering aspect a breeze. Zarelda was always there to help out and was always asking questions to make sure my husband and I were happy . She did not settle for less! Nate Mize-Pressler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-12-2022 We had a fantastic experience hosting our wedding at the Menger Hotel in Downtown San Antonio! Zarelda and her team were so communicative and helpful when it came to the planning leading up to our special day, as well as execution during the event itself! The hotel is located down in the heart of the San Antonio Riverwalk and is right next to the Alamo. We had a lot of family coming from out of state—with this being their first time in Texas—so the ability for them to walk around and experience San Antonio right from the hotel was great. From our initial meeting with Zarelda, we knew she would work to make sure we had an amazing day—she made sure we had everything in place with our planning, helped us pick the perfect venue for the ceremony and reception with our budget in mind (spoiler: they have several spaces in the hotel for events!), and was there the day of the wedding to help make sure everything went off without a hitch. A great thing about the Menger Hotel was that the catering and bar services are done in-house, so you’re able to worry less about communicating with a lot of different vendors leading up to your wedding day. The food for our reception was delicious, too! There’s always a worry your food will taste like “wedding food” when you go to someone’s wedding, but the food was high quality and very tasty! When we first came to San Antonio to see if we wanted to live here, we stayed at the Menger and had a lovely experience as a guest, so being able to celebrate our special day was a full-circle moment. The character, history, decor and experience of the hotel itself acted as a stunning and grandiose backdrop for our ceremony and reception, with many of our guests remarking at how luxe and grand everything felt. Thank you Zarelda and team for your hard work in helping us have a wedding we'll never forget! Reviewed on 09-01-2023
DAN FERRARO(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 We highly recommend The Menger Hotel for a wedding/reception venue. This was our first wedding as parents and we could not be happier with the outcome. Zarelda helped to make this a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone. She kept in constant contact, followed through on every promise and helped throughout the entire process. The hotel was exactly what our daughter was looking for and the event lived up to our expectations of what the wedding should be like. Glad to be part of the great history of this hotel. Tim and Nisha Ritchey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2022 I recently had the overwhelming privilege of working with Zara (Zarelda ) Marrero, the catering coordinator at the Merger hotel for our wedding on December 3rd 2022. Zara was most helpful and efficient in working with us and our wedding planner up to and through the execution of our event. She was responsive to all of our requests and inquiries in a remarkably timely, friendly, and professional manner. At times Zara went over backwards to fulfill our requests. The food, service, and overall venue ambiance was perfect and unforgettable. Zara's willingness to work so well with our wedding planner ensured an overall success of out wedding as our guests were impressed and raved over how beautiful the space, remarkable the food, and the overall service provided by Zara and her staff. I would highly recommend Zara and the beautiful and historic downtown Merger. Thanks Zara and staff!!! Reviewed on 30-12-2022
Justine Del Toro(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-12-2022 The Menger apparently only books 6 months out. When we asked for clarification, Zara told us she would speak with the Director of Sales and follow up with us. That was last December. If you want to book the Menger, I hope you have better luck than we did. Reviewed on 09-12-2022
Karlene Winn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2022 Zara was the savior for our wedding! She advocated for us and was extremely helpful. The actual venue was beautiful and perfect and we could not have picked a better venue for our reception or our ceremony. Plus the catering and bar tender services were spectacular! The bartender was on it throughout the night, I wish I knew his name so I could give him the shout out he deserves. Reviewed on 15-11-2022

Stephanie Martinez(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-02-2019 The Menger was beyond what I imagined! Zara, the event coordinator there, was extremely helpful from day one of the process. She was able to deliver what I wanted and it came out beautifully :) At first she was going to have the cocktail hour right next to the ballroom (which is where everyone usually has it) but it wasn’t what I wanted. So she allowed it to be right in the old part of the hotel, which gave it an antique, elegant ambience! And of course the ballroom itself is gorgeous with three beautiful chandeliers. The best part was that the bars and photo booth were located adjacent to the ballroom so people would walk over for small talk and then come in to dance the night away! Great use of space. I highly recommend Menger :) Reviewed on 21-04-2019
Janelle Edwards(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-11-2018 The Menger Hotel has always been near to our hearts so when it came time to choose a wedding venue it was an obvious choice. I initially was terrified that the hotel would not be in the budget but much to my surprise The Menger was well within my budget. I had a $15,000 budget and 110 guests. I was able to stay well within my budget and have a beautiful wedding. We used the Minuet room for our ceremony and the large ballroom for our reception. My guests assumed we spent more than $20,000 on the venue, food, and bar. Hector, Zara, Monika Vega, Monika Gonzales, Angela, Roxanne, and Rose were all so amazing, so comforting, and so patient through everything. My fairytale wedding became a reality and I have them to thank for it. The entire staff at the hotel is truly amazing. I never want to leave! It was the best decision I could have made! Christine Case(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-12-2017 We didn't have our wedding here, so I can't comment on those services provided by the hotel, but we stayed at the Menger on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect, the staff were nice and friendly, and the hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL. Valet and room services were also great. We loved all of the historical aspects of the hotel and that everything was in walking distance- we didn't take our car out of the lot once during our stay! We'll definitely be going back for future stays in San Antonio and definitely recommend the Menger Hotel! Reviewed on 06-01-2018
Misty Meadows(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2017 The Menger Hotel was a really great place to have both my ceremony and reception. The ceremony was in the Minuet room and even though we had about 130 people, the ceremony felt intimate. The reception was held in the Ballroom and the banquet staff was there to help every step of the way. I received a lot of compliments about how beautiful the hotel was and how the setting was perfect for a wedding. Reviewed on 24-09-2017
Jessica Huizenga(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2016 The Menger Hotel hosted my 185 guest wedding reception and it was a wonderful experience. Monica Vega made sure our room block was organized and that all of my out of town guests got a great rate and beautiful room. Monica Gonzales was our main point of contact for catering and room layout and was very communicative and respectful of our every request. Hector did a fabulous job of coordinating the decor and room layout to best accommodate our needs and guest size. Finally, my guests still rave about how delicious the food stations were. The Menger allowed us to choose specific food items to be featured and pulled them off perfectly. Highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for that authentic San Antonio-style wedding! Eleni Trepel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-11-2015 We used the Menger Hotel as our reception venue and our hotel accommodations. \r\rAs a Reception Venue the Menger was perfect. The ballrooms were beautiful and set up wonderfully. The hotel worked well with my wedding planner and it looked great with all the decorations in place. The food was delicious... We chose the buffet which was served outside the ballroom and everything tasted fantastic. The food was hot and the staff kept the trays full. We had an open bar and they even provided bottles of specialty liquors I requested. Doreen with the hospitality group was so helpful and always available when I had questions or comments. \r\rAccommodations... We had such a great stay at the Menger. Everyone came from out of town or state for the wedding. There were over 50 rooms booked under our party and the hotel managed it wonderfully. There were plenty of places for large groups to get together and talk. There were places for people to sit and visit without feeling cramped or crowded. The bar was able to hold a large number of people and the bartenders are always fantastic. We ate at the hotel restaurant everyday. The breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh. \r\rIt was a perfect place to have our reception and to stay. It was a great location on the Riverwalk and near the Alamo. Everyone had the best time. Jennifer Brown(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-01-2014 We were excited to visit the Menger Hotel and learn of how reasonably priced they were. Never would have guessed the pricing and what was offered was within our budget. Pros Included: great prices for plated (seated) dinner, fantastic venue for outdoor and amazing indoor photo shots. Able to get very reasonable room rates for such a great location on the riverwalk. Lots of out of town guests didn't need to rent cars with everything right there. Challenges: Sometimes hard to reach the contacts at the hotel. This just required patience and persistence ocassionally. Bottom line if I had to do it again, I would definately go with the same venue. The people who work there love it and are very service oriented. If you have bridezilla tendencies, make sure you have a wedding \rPlanner. We hired a coordinator for the last 2 weeks before and day of to manage the details which was an excellent investment and made my day worry free and a ton of fun. \r\rWe actually used the patio room for our ceremony and the minuet room for the reception, not the ballroom. Also, the hotel was built in the 1800s. The rooms tend to be a little smaller than the ones in modern hotels. Everything was in good working order and well maintained. Being from New England I am accustomed to this and like it. However, this is not something everyone will go for. We had about 60 people show up but planned for 70 Reviewed on 04-02-2014
Paola Juarez(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2012 We used the 3 areas of the Ballroom. It is just beautiful. The sales staff is very helpful and works with you.
