Christina Farrens(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2022 We are thrilled with our experience in working with Messina's for our wedding reception venue!!! First of all, our wedding had to be postponed twice due to Covid. Our original venue actually closed after Covid began and it ended up being a blessing in disguise because we absolutely loved Messina's! We had our reception at 3:30pm in the Atrium which was beautiful with the sunlight coming in all the windows.Sarah and Caroline were PHENOMENAL. They helped us every step of the way and answered all of our questions. We met with both ladies before our wedding and they made us feel right at home. Sarah and Caroline were extremely kind, patient, informative, helpful, and flexible. They also delivered prompt communication via emails and texts and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! Those two are the perfect team and any bride would be lucky to work with them. They actually felt like long time friends by the end of everything! Sarah and Caroline helped set up multiple family tribute tables of our family photos, displayed our party favors and guest books, and made sure all of vendors had what they needed. They were knowledgeable and paid attention to the details which we appreciated. And Sarah made sure our photographer got the group photo we wanted too :) Our wedding attendant, Grace, was also amazing! The reception itself felt like a whirlwind with all our guests being there, but Grace was always around if we needed something. Chef Dale and Chef Daryl were awesome as were all the staff and bartenders. We just loved everything about Messina's: from the ambiance, the atmosphere, the history, the scenery, the people, and FOOD!!! Our guests could not stop raving about the food! Wow! Best wedding reception food I've ever had and my wedding was actually the 50th wedding I've attended in the past 16 years. Because we got married downtown, we hired buses to shuttle our guests to the venue. It worked out great and those guests who wanted to drive had ample parking in the big parking lot.Thank you so much to Messina's, especially Sarah and Caroline, for going above and beyond to make our wedding so incredibly unforgettable and special!!! Nicholas Falba(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-11-2021 Messina’s at the Terminal is an absolutely stunning venue which we were proud to show off to our guests at our wedding on November 6, 2021. Every single person we worked with, but especially Caroline and Sarah, was extremely responsive and supportive and helped us execute our vision. They worked well with our wedding coordinator, and everything went off without a hitch from their end. We held our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the Atrium, which is one of the spaces in the building. Messina’s does their own catering, and we got a ton of compliments on the food. Luckily, they also have a restaurant, which is open for lunch during the week and brunch on the weekend, so we get to have more of it without having to throw a huge party. The staff was responsive and friendly throughout the evening, especially one of the bartenders, whom both our families were raving about by the end of the night. If you love aviation, Art Deco architecture, or just want a beautiful wedding in an unconventional space, do yourself a favor and choose Messina’s. As a gay couple with one of us not from New Orleans, we always felt 100% welcomed, accepted and even celebrated! Messina’s staff went above and beyond to make us feel included and had all the resources to guide us through planning a New Orleans style of wedding. One tip we recommended is setting up transportation to your guests since it is a hidden gem and far from the typical touristy attractions. We had shuttle busses to move our guests back home after an incredible night. Reviewed on 15-01-2022

From our first meeting, to the tasting, to our day, to load out, Mr. George and Maggie were great! The whole staff was very professional in their dealing with my bride and wedding guests. Our wedding day was perfect in everything we discussed with Messinas. My father particularlly enjoyed the oysters rockerfeller. I enjoyed the stirfry, oysters, pork sliders and all the food! Maggie and George made us feel like family in our dealings and everything. I will recommend Messinas to any New Orleans bride and groom. It is a perfect, classy venue that can be tailored to a great variety of events. I have put on weddings in my business and this venue and staff were SUPERB!!! It is not typical french quarter and I did not want french quarter at all. Not many people in New Orleans know about it, but I am glad someone from SMG Mercedes Benz Superdome recommended it! Shout out to Chef Leon who made the day special by agreeing to alter the menu and create dishes that were unique to our tastes and preferences. Best clam chowder I've ever had south of the Mason Dixon, made me feel like I was back home in Boston for a little while. As compared to a lot of other spaces, there were no requests or ideas that me or my fiancée had that were unmanageable, as the staff at Messina's was more interested in finding solutions than pigeon-holing us into a set design. We booked the venue over a year out and stayed in close contact throughout the year with Maggie. We had some specific requests (table set up, champagne service, clam chowder soup station, etc) and all were met! We had some reservations getting closer to the wedding day as there was a major event happening further down the tarmac during the same time but Messina's reassured us that we would have parking for our guests and that nothing would interfere with our big day. And they were right! Instead, the old WWII planes on the tarmac added for excellent photo ops and views for our guests before the ceremony began. We rented a bus for our out of town guests and it was extremely easy to get to from a downtown hotel. Maggie was the onsite day-of coordinator and did a fantastic job of keeping everything running smoothly! There was nothing to worry about. She was even there for the rehearsal the day before. She worked out all audio with our multiple vendors and made sure we timed our walking down the aisle just right. She truly was great to work with. We even coordinated a helicopter send off! Which was a really amazing experience and memorable cap to the night. We arrived at the venue a few hours before (I highly suggest renting the entire building) and was able to wait in the conference room upstairs, take some photos, and put my dress on. While the men got ready downstairs in the Walnut room. When we arrived the venue was completely set up, linens were pressed, lighting in place, and everything was set up exactly how we had discussed. And we never did- the food was great, the service was great, the venue is super romantic, and everyone had a great time. Messina's also was VERY flexible with our budget, and worked with us to get to a price that worked for us, yet still accommodate our wants and desires. The only \"cons\" that I can even think of is that the venue is on the louder side, as there are a lot of hard surfaces. It is not THAT bad though, and as the bride and the groom, we surely didn't care as we were dancing our butts off! Also, it is not exactly centrally located. Casey Delehanty(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2018 We were married on July 14th at the Terminal, and it couldn't have gone better. The venue was great, the food was absolutely incredible, and everyone had a wonderful time. Moreover, the whole thing was incredibly affordable compared to pretty much every other option in New Orleans, and they took care of pretty much everything except the DJ. But let's talk about the real star of the show: Maggie. I can't believe how helpful and accommodating she was throughout the entire process. She was always responsive and helpful when we had questions, she gave us multiple breaks on things when we asked for them, and she was incredibly understanding when we had a family medical issue a couple weeks before the wedding which threw some wrenches into the works. This doesn't even cover how great she was during the ceremony and reception! Despite having a much bigger event next door, Maggie tended to us throughout the night, making sure that everything ran smoothly and that we had everything we needed. My wife and I always had an extra drink at the table, and she made sure we were well-fed. I can't think of a more helpful, cheerful person than Maggie. I'm honestly blown away by how great the overall experience was, and she really made it happen. Get married here. Let Maggie take care of you. She's the literal best. Reviewed on 25-07-2018
Lauren Delehanty(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2018 I can not say enough good things about Messina’s. The building itself is gorgeous with lots of interesting detail both inside and out. We got married on the Observation Deck and had our reception in the Walnut Room and both were so beautiful we didn’t need any kind of over the top decorations. Messina’s also provided catering and the food was AMAZING. So many guests came up to us afterwards to tell us how much they loved it, even our picky friends ;) and they made sure my husband and I left with to-go boxes. The best part of our experience with Messina’s though had to be Maggie who helped us coordinate everything leading up to and the day of our wedding. She was always available to answer our many questions and went out of her way to make our lives easier. She was there to assist with the rehearsal and during the reception she helped us stick to our timeline while at the same time ensuring we had anything we might need. Our wedding was so so so much fun and I would recommend Messina’s to anyone, especially couples looking for an amazing value. Reviewed on 17-07-2018

I knew it would be a winner. Not only was the space beautiful and perfect for our 200 person wedding, the team at Messina's is what blew us away. Maggie and Chef Leon were the all-star team. Maggie was able to help us with any and all questions from the day we toured the venue, up until the wedding day. I couldn't have asked for a better venue coordinator! Clare N(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-01-2019 I didn't set out to have a fairy tale wedding. It never entered my mind that something like that was even achievable. But that's exactly what we got at Messina's. From the beginning, Maggie Z was approachable, excited, and easy to reach about anything I had a question about. In a city full of beautiful locations, this venue is simply the most beautiful, quirky, inspiring, and unique you could hope for. I am vegan and my husband is not, so we did a few seafood options and the rest was vegan. Non-vegan guests can have an attitude about vegan food, so it's got to be a great representation of the lifestyle. I've had vegan dishes in fine dining restaurants and vegan restaurants all over the city and the food Chef made for the wedding is hands down, the best I've ever had. It really wowed the guests as well. They didn't even blink when we asked if vegan options were possible--in fact they already had a vegan/vegetarian menu to choose from! No other venue we looked at was going to be that accommodating. The servers and bartender were absolutely top-notch. Mr. Messina himself stayed for the event to make sure everything was perfect. They offer discounts for certain days, a fully customizable floor plan, a tasting in advance, plenty of parking for guests, everything was sparkling clean, beautifully lit, and 100% perfect. I hope your wedding day is every bit as joyful and stress-free! Reviewed on 21-11-2017

The chef was involved from the tasting and throughout the evening of the reception. Chef was concerned with how we wanted things to taste and was willing to make any necessary changes. The decor was perfect. To my surprise, the hallways were tastefully lined with prelit white trees that added to the decor. There was also a Christmas tree in the main reception area. It was beautifully decorated as well. Messina's staff was very attentive to our guest but unfortunately we (bride/groom)did not have staff to attend to our needs as promised. This may be due to us not arriving until an hour late. Nevertheless, we truly enjoyed the evening and honestly would use this venue again. Stephanie, Kristen and Connie made sure all of our concerns and questions were answered in a timely manner. They made our experience at Messina's a delightful one. MIRIAM AKINFOSILE(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-08-2015 \rI just had a 150+ guest wedding and reception at this venue. Messina’s at the Terminal is a beautiful venue, BUT, the management and organizers there are unprofessional and rude. I put my everything into planning every detail of my wedding by myself. The event coordinator at The Terminal was no help at all, and she wasn’t even friendly. It is really difficult to work with someone like that when planning such an important event, in hindsight, it isn’t worth it. I had fallen in love with the sunset and the airplanes and the art deco design of the building but I shouldn’t have dealt with the treatment I received at The Terminal. While my photos are beautiful, and my guests enjoyed themselves and the food was amazing, there is always going to be a dark cloud over my wedding day, and because of that I should have taken my business elsewhere. I just want to give you all a glimpse into some of the issues I dealt with: 1. Two days before my wedding the event coordinator informed my day-of-coordinator that there was no power on the observation deck where my ceremony was going to take place. I have countless email correspondence between myself and the event coordinator discussing the lights I intended to use, the music the DJ was going to play, and the mic the officiant would use from months prior. Never did she mention that outlets or power would be an issue. 2. They only allowed 3 hours for my ceremony to be setup, this is wholey unusual for an evening wedding. My ceremony was to begin at 7pm, we were not allowed on the premises until 4pm. 3. Floorplan was not followed on day of wedding 4. They used a LARGE ORANGE CONE as a doorstop for my grand entrance. This cone is in countless pictures, and looks ridiculous. 5. My biggest frustration was that the event coordinator that I had been working with for over a year was not there for my entire event, she had another lady handle my actual wedding day. I worked with one person for over a year and that person wasn't there all night to make sure the venue details were handled as planned. 6. The other person that ended up handling my wedding on the day-of was rude. Not only to me directly but also to my maid of honor in front of me. 7. The elevator broke, causing elderly guests to take the stairs and one of our guests(my husbands great aunt) was trapped for over 30 minutes. This inconvenience was not made right by the venue allowing the second line to play their entire set. 8. They threw away all leftover wedding and grooms cake as well as the topper, they kept my globe lights that we found a way to string although the nearest outlet was 100 feet away from the ceremony space. And worst of all they posted pictures of my cake table to the business’s Instagram account, and didn’t even use my wedding hashtag 9. Lastly, we did go over our time, by 10 minutes do to the second line being more fun than I scheduled and playing two additional songs. She literally kicked us out, my maid of honor tried to offer extra money and reason with the fill in event coordinator to no avail. This, for me is the worse than any nightmare I could have ever imagined. I was humiliated and would have never imagined this happening at my wedding. I am now happily married and am only taking time to write this review to warm other brides of the difficulties I experienced. Planning a wedding is hard no matter what, working with difficult and unprofessional people only make it harder. Save yourself the trouble. Reviewed on 25-08-2015

Messina's at the Terminal (Director of Sales)
The Terminal, located at Lakefront Airport, is a New Orleans Tradition, dating back to the 1930's. At the time of its grand opening it was considered an architectural masterpiece. Built by the same architect that designed the Louisiana State Capitol building, it was the first major airport in the region, and served proudly as a general aviation airport to this day. Inside the terminal building, travelers would find an Art Deco wonderland, featuring murals by artist Xavier Gonzalez, friezes by Enrique R. Alferez and an array of stone wall and floor treatments.
