We had our wedding here in August and it was a great experience! We booked for the entire weekend and enjoyed the use of both guest houses to accommodate our bridal party. We had our rehearsal dinner here and used the patio for our ceremony. All of our guests thought the venue was so beautiful and our photos turned out great! Betsy is awesome to work with too! We had an absolute amazing time throwing our wedding at Mildale! Having the venue for multiple days was so useful and we got to enjoy it with our family and friends the whole weekend. It was a beautiful weekend and I could not recommend it enough! Only downside (and it's small) is that there are no freezers at the reception site to store ice so we had our wedding party donate their coolers and stored ice in those. Hopefully in the near future they can get a freezre there, but otherwise it was great :) Reviewed on 10-11-2023

Can’t recommend this venue enough! First off, it’s beautiful! Betsy, the venue coordinator is so sweet and really responsive. Big perk of this venue for us is that you get the whole grounds which consisted of the main barn, a large (estate) house, and then a smaller (cottage) house from Thursday afternoon to Monday morning of your wedding weekend! We loved this because it allowed us to have our wedding party stay with us and truly make a weekend of it! Getting the grounds that long is also a plus because you can have your rehersal dinner there, as well. Having the venue for that many days also paid off when it came to setting up. It’s a big job to get everything sat up at Mildale because they (the venue) does not help with any set up. Another big plus for Mildale for us, was they allowed you to bring it your own catering and bartenders / alcohol! Reviewed on 19-09-2023

If you know you and your partner want to be very hands-on with all the details of your wedding I cannot recommend Mildale enough. The weekend rental from Thursday-Monday allowed us to set up in advance, host rehearsal dinner, have our ceremony and reception, and gave us ample time and space to be with our wedding party. We saved so much money by being able to host all of the events in one location and taking care of all of the setup on our own. Betsy is fantastic to work with and the monthly open houses are very helpful in the planning process. Reviewed on 03-08-2023
Frankie Wagoner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-08-2022 Mildale was the most beautiful venue. It was perfect having the whole property for the weekend. We were able to have a relaxed rehearsal on Friday because of the option they gave us to have the property from Thursday to Monday morning. It is a beautifully kept property, with so many options available for your big day. We did our ceremony at the Estate and our reception at the barn and it was perfect. Could not recommend it more. The staff was responsive & easy to work with as well. Also, this venue photographs beautifully. No complaints here! Reviewed on 16-01-2023

Heather Hempel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-04-2022 Betsy is the Facility Rental Coordinator and she is the one I did all of my communication with when it came to questions regarding the venue. Betsy was quick to respond, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I attended so many open houses and would bring friends/family to help with my “vision” and she would always greet us with a big smile. We did have the facility from Thursday-Monday of that weekend. You are in charge of set up. If I’m being honest, I didn’t mind that part of it. It allowed me to have a say in how I wanted the venue decorated and since we had the time, we didn’t feel rushed. The grounds, barn, cottage, and estate house are all kept in pristine condition (biggest bummer is we couldn’t bring our dog. Probably a blessing in disguise looking back at how busy we were). The only thing I didn’t realize when booking our wedding date was that it was still too cold to have any flowers planted in the pots. We just bought some fake ones for the pots at the altar so it wouldn’t look so bare. The estate house and cottage come with a fully stocked kitchen. Mildale Farm has endless photo opportunities. The barn has plenty of bathroom stalls. Once you check in they provide you with a phone number to contact in case you need help with something and maintenance will be onsite in a timely manner. All in all, I was impressed with the venue and all it had to offer. They helped make my dream come true. Reviewed on 03-05-2022
Alyssa Berko(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-02-2022 Mildale Farm is a hidden gem. We booked the full rental for a June 2022 wedding, but for personal reasons decided to move the wedding up several months to February. Betsy was very accommodating with the change. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. The venue itself isn’t brand new, but if you appreciate old things (like I do) the estate house and cottage house are full of a ton of character and so much fun. We got married in the south end of the barn and had the reception in the middle area, with the bar and cocktail area in the northern end. We had about 110 people at the ceremony (with a string trio and harp taking up quite a bit of space) and 160 at the reception. It was perfect and didn’t feel crowded at all. The barn is a blank slate and you do have to literally bring in almost everything to make it all work, so it’s important to be organized! This is a pro and also a con. On one hand you get to make the venue work however you want. The downside is that it requires a lot more planning coordination with vendors to logistically pull everything off. For this reason I do recommend hiring a planner or coordinator because you will be making a lot of logistical decisions and juggling a lot of vendors. After all was said and done the wedding was breathtaking, and when it was time to turn over the keys on Monday morning we didn’t want to leave! Reviewed on 28-02-2022
Kylie Jennings(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-12-2021 We got married at Mildale Farm this past weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful. We had friends and family travelling from all over the US so it was so helpful to have the venue to hold the reception and afterwards we invited extended family and friends to come and visit too. It was also so nice to have this venue for the extended time frame because it allowed us to take our time and decorate the barn completely on Thursday. We were so much less stressed! We also held the rehearsal dinner in the barn Friday night. The bridal party stayed in each of the houses which made it so convenient and fun for them!Betsy the point person was AMAZING!!!!! Shannon Willis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-01-2021 I first toured Mildale Farm at the end of winter in March 2020 as we were planning a wedding for early January, 2021. Even though there were no leaves on the trees and it was a freezing day, I could still see the incredible potential of the large equestrian barn. Sarah walked us through all the steps and was really easy to communicate with as we booked the venue and as I emailed and called her multiple times with questions over the months. Ultimately, we had to part ways with this beautiful venue, due to restrictions related to COVID-19. Sarah was so helpful throughout the whole process. She was responsive, communicated clearly, and was very professional. I would recommend Mildale to anyone willing to drive a bit outside of KC for a lovely, peaceful venue. Reviewed on 08-12-2020

We loved having the house from Thursday - Monday. It allowed us to sort of have a destination wedding while still only being a 30 min drive away from home. I want to give Sarah and her team extra kudos for getting someone out to the house very late on the night before the wedding when the furnace at the house went out. Sarah was easy to work with and was very responsive whenever we contacted her. Michele Lazarowicz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-01-2019 Mildale Farm was the most perfect place to have my wedding! My family rented the whole property which was perfect because literally my entire family lives out of state. It was so nice to just get out there and be able to relax the few days before and after the wedding without having to worry about rushing to get everything set up and taken down immediately. The estate house was perfect for spending time with family in a more homey environment and was big enough so the whole bridal party could get ready in the same place without risk of running into each other. The barn is so freaking beautiful! I don’t think that was what any of our guests were thinking when we said we were getting married in a barn. The staff was so responsive to any questions or concerns. Make sure you are very clear about what is on the inventory list, like go over each item that you think might be included, when I went to visit several times there was a bar that appeared to be included with the venue but upon arriving on Thursday came to realize it was not a part of the rental, we had to scramble a bit to find a bar to rent, we also rented high chairs since they were not listed on the inventory sheet but once we arrived we realized there were high chairs already there. Shelby Hallam(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-12-2018 I got married on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Mildale Farm. I cannot say enough positive things about this venue! The property is such a magical escape and the perfect location for a wedding. Because we got married in the \"off\" season, we were able to do a partial rental 6 months in advance. We chose to rent the barn venue for 48 hours (*highly recommend doing this - we were able to fully decorate the entire ceremony & reception space the day before the wedding. we also held our rehearsal dinner in the space that evening and just cleaned up those tables at the end of the evening). The 48 hours also allowed my family to come back and pick up any leftover decorations and last-minute clean sweeping. My husband and I stayed in the cottage that evening. My bridal party and I got ready and hung out there during the day! It was absolutely perfect! Sarah Vogelsberg is also so wonderful! She was extremely helpful and was always prompt on answering any questions I had. Being able to attend the Tuesday evening open-house that they have once a month was also a huge help! We went the month before and realized how dark it would be in the ceremony space in the winter so we did have to add some hanging lights. They looked beautiful, but just something to keep in mind for the other winter brides! It was an incredible day and Mildale was the most perfect venue choice! Our guests loved it as well and we received many compliments. We had a wedding of about 170ish guests with plenty of room! I highly recommend! Thank you! :) Reviewed on 27-12-2018

We were able to bring in our own food, alcohol and decorations which made it possible to have our dream wedding. We went with a rustic theme with navy, cabernet, dusty rose and gold colors. Our ceremony was down by the lake at 5:00 PM, our cocktail hour was at the back off the estate house at 6:00 PM and our reception was in the barn from 7:00 PM to Midnight. I came across this venue a couple of years ago and have had it in the back of my mind since. It was the first out of two venues we looked at and quickly realized Mildale was exactly what we wanted. Sarah, the events coordinator was so wonderful to work with. She was very responsive, answered all of my questions and then some and was so easy and enjoyable to work with. We rented to property from Thursday-Sunday and had my bridal luncheon and the rehearsal dinner there Friday and the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on Saturday. There is a lot of information you get up front, everything was very clearly stated...but be prepared to do everything your self! The houses are fully stocked, tables and chairs are provided in 2 areas, but you have to set up/take down the tables and chairs yourself (having the venue Thursday was incredibly helpful!). We had our rehearsal dinner and ceremony behind the Estate House overlooking the water. The scenery was breathtaking. The guys got ready in the Cottage and the girls got ready in the Estate House. The cocktail hour was in-between the Cottage and Estate House under the big trees (it was hot so the shade was ideal)...it was perfect because you could see the whole property and it was beautiful. Then we had the reception in the barn with drapery on each wing and string lights in the center. We contemplated getting a dance floor and I'm so glad we did. The brick is not hard to walk on but the dance floor made dancing so much easier and enjoyable! The property is so beautiful that we stayed on the grounds for photos in-between the ceremony and reception. We rented a couple of golf carts which made the process a lot easier and quicker. Our rehearsal dinner was in the back of the Estate House patio and it is just such a truly gorgeous venue! There are ponds, a white fence surrounding the property, railroads nearby, a completely renovated house, and incredible Barn venue which we had our reception in! It is what we had always dreamt up for a wedding venue and the grounds crew keeps the flowers, 22 acres of land, and brick all so beautiful! She answered my endless emails and questions with such patience. The fact that we could book the venue for 4 days was wonderful. It allowed us to have the rehearsal dinner there and have time to set everything up before the wedding without being overly stressed. There are two houses on the property that worked out perfectly for the bride and groom and their wedding parties to stay on site the night before the wedding as well and my husband and I so we could be hands on while getting everything ready. The wedding turned out beautifully and everything ran so smoothly during the transition from the wedding to the cocktail hour to the reception as the space was big enough to accommodate all three. Claire Canaan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2016 Mildale Farm was nothing short of amazing. We went with the full rental which included access to The Barn, The Estate, and The Cottage for 4 days (1pm Thursday-10am Monday). Sarah was our contact for Johnson County Parks & Rec and she was phenomenal. She was responsive to my emails and never acted annoyed with my many questions. She provided multiple layouts from previous couples who used the venue and was overall great to work with. The venue itself: breathtaking. Though pricey for the full rental, it is totally worth it. We held our rehearsal dinner on site and my bridesmaids and I were able to stay at The Estate the night before the wedding. The Estate fits up to 8 people and provides you anything you can think of minus the actual food and beverage and personal items (i.e. flatware, plates, bowls, coffee pot, coffee cups, trash bags, toilet paper, towels, etc.). The guys were able to get ready on Saturday in the Cottage and we were able to keep separate before the festivities but still close enough we didn't have to worry about transportation issues.Mildale allows you to bring a golf cart if decided. We would definitely recommend bringing one if you have access to them. Mildale also has 9 fishing ponds that my husband took full advantage of the few days leading up the wedding! It was a nice, relaxing way for him to get his mind off the stress of the upcoming nuptials. You are required to have a state fishing license, but the county fishing license is waived - so a simple $30 at Wal-Mart to enjoy a few days of fishing stocked ponds. We have nothing negative to say about our experience with Mildale. We would definitely recommend having an event coordinator, or someone who can help keep things moving along as there is no staff provided with the rental. You are responsible for all set up, tear down, & clean up. Nothing a few good family and friends can't help with ;) Reviewed on 29-10-2016

Sarah was such a fun and easy person to work with. She let us tour the farm multiple times before our wedding weekend to measure/re-measure, take pictures, etc. She always responded quickly to any emails we sent, and is super friendly! We had the entire bridal party stay in the houses the whole weekend. We set up on Thursday and Friday with the help of family and friends. We had a semi-DIY florist come in on Friday morning to teach us how to make our own bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages /centerpieces/etc and we used one of the wings in the barn for this—worked out perfectly! There was even space to store all of the flowers to keep them looking their best. We had the ceremony by the pond behind the house near the patio, and it was gorgeous—absolutely perfect! After the reception, it was so much fun for the bridal party to be together and not worry about driving to a hotel. We actually all just came back to the large house after the reception and kept hanging out. Everything about the farm is absolutely beautiful and all of our guests were so impressed by the property. Our Real Life Fairytale! We could not have found a more perfect venue to celebrate our day. We moved forward with a full Rental one year prior to our wedding. Over the course of that year Sarah was very helpful with the planning process. If we had questions she had answers. Moving forward to the week of: on Thursday our wedding party and is moved into Mildale go kick off the event. Our family and close friends came out that evening to enjoy a simple shrimp boil, game of kickball and drinks by the bonfire. On Friday our vendors, family and friends all came together to put all of our hard work and planning in place. We decorated the barn, set up for rehearsal and enjoyed the wide open space this venue offers. We then hosted the rehearsal dinner which included the wedding party, family and friends. By choosing this venue we were able to host 130 guest just for rehearsal. Everyone loved this approach, they were not confined to a hotel. We of course ended our night at the putting green and bonfire pit. We woke up Saturday morning and it was amazing! All of our vendors came to us. I can honestly say I did not feel rushed or overwhelmed at any point during the getting ready stage, because I was already at the venue I was marrying my best friend! We took as many pictures as possible before the ceremony but did not reveal each other until exactly 5pm. Our ceremony took place on the back patio of the estate house with the house in the background. We then hosted a cocktail hour while we were taking pictures on the driveway near the estate house garage. Our guests then moved to the barn for the reception. We hosted 220 guests. The barn had so much space to place everyone and everything perfectly. The weather was absolutely perfect, during the reception we hosted \"back yard\" games on the front lawn fit our guests to enjoy. We did not serve s traditional sit down meal we had different appetizers throughout the evening for our guest to enjoy along with an open bar. Our wedding reception was by far the best of 2015!!! On Sunday we invited everyone back out for a simple parfait breakfast and coffee bar. We also opened all gifts during this time. We then took some time reflecting on everyone's memories from the night before. The remainder of the day we cleaned up and enjoyed each other's company. Monday we checked out and left for Dubai!!! Words can not describe how perfect Mildale Farm was for us. If you are looking for a venue that you can make \"yours\ Reviewed on 06-09-2015

I will say the county keeps everything looking nice and they are easy to work with. Unfortunately they don't set up and tear down the tables and chairs for you which would help to justify the high cost. The price is why I only have 4 stars. Beautiful beautiful location though. stella eagan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-05-2010 i wouldn't have wanted our wedding any place else. mildale was absolutely beautiful and everything we wanted. i can't tell you how many of our family and friends came up to us and said that this was the most beautiful wedding that had been to. the beautiful brick drive that winds up to the barn is amazing. we loved that it is so secluded with nothing else surrounding it besides nature. if you haven't ever been to mildale, you HAVE to make a trip to see it...you won't regret it. our pictures turned out so beautiful. we had the actual wedding outside in front of the barn, then had the reception inside the barn. another thing that drew us in with mildale is that it's so beautiful by itself that it doesn't need a lot of decorating. so, my advice if you're considering mildale for your wedding is...absolutely go for it. you won't regret it andm your guests will fall in love with it, just like you will!!\rstella Reviewed on 03-12-2010
Bobbi Rickerson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-11-2010 I was so happy with the Mildale Farm staff and facility. It is BEAUTIFUL! My husband and I were looking for a place that was elegant but also a little touch of country. Mildale Farm was exactly that. They have very reasonable prices and lots of benefits. When I first got to Mildale Farm on my wedding day I was able to unlock the gates. It was amazing to have a moment to myself and to visualize what was going to take place that day. Everything came together beautifully and I got many compliments about how it beautiful it was. Many people told me it was the best wedding they had ever been to and they had wished they had gotten married in a place like this. Mildale Farm is extremely recommended and I will never forget the beautiful place that made my day memorable!\rBobbi Rickerson Reviewed on 03-12-2010
Catherine Szalkowski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-07-2010 We had our wedding at Mildale Farm last July and booked the property for the whole weekend - Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. This to me at first seemed like too much time but after getting my mother and father in law, three brother-in-laws and their wives and my parents settled into the estate house and small cottage we had the most wonderful long weekend. It was like having a destination wedding right at home! The size of the houses, all the amenities, the BEAUTIFUL grounds and barn were all perfect. We were married by the pond with mason jars filled with wildflowers hanging from the trees above us and it was magical - I know it sounds cheesy, but it was just perfect. The drive was a bit of a hike but that's actually what made it feel more like a destination wedding and it was so peaceful - plus we love the country. Sarah Shaw, the coordinator from JCPRD, was awesome - so sweet and helpful! I HIGHLY recommend this venue!!! Reviewed on 03-12-2010

The entrace itself is breathtaking. \rWe choose the option the rent the 22 acres from Thursday-Monday. Our wedidng party was able to stay with us in the estate house the night before and the night of the wedding. This helped with getting everyone avalible for pictures, hair, make-up etc. The venue is very kid friendly as well and kept my toddler nephews entertained!\rSarah was so helpful in answering any questions we had. They are very organized and professional. They understand that exceptions can be made. The grounds were manicured the day of the event and were beautiful. You can tell that Sarah and everyone working at Mildale enjoys there job and is passionate about the Farm.\rThere are so many options with the venue and the barn. I had an earthy outdoor wedding, but the barn is also very classy, elegant, bright. You can transform it into anything you desire. There is so much beauty in the barn, that you don't even need decorations. \rWe had our wedding and reception up at the barn. The ceremony was performed out front and made for beautiful pictures.
