Situated in beautiful downtown Denver, CO, Mile High Station is a historic wedding venue full of resplendent charm and character. Originally dating back to the end of the 19th century, this landmark building is comfortably furnished and stylishly decorated to create picturesque wedding moments. Though featuring a unique industrial aesthetic, this single event venue is remarkably versatile, with a variety of event spaces to suit every celebratory vision.
The original premises were constructed in 1897 as the drafting building for the Midwest Steel and Ironworks Complex. For the next 40 years, it was an extremely busy steel mill, providing necessary materials to aid the US Army in World War II. Throughout the rest of the 20th century, it went through various incarnations before being officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Since opening as Mile High Station in 2000, it has secured its status as one of Denver’s premier event venues.
Combining industrial architectural design with modern comfort, the idiosyncratic interior of this superb venue needs to be seen to be believed. Inspired by the roaring 1920s, it comes complete with exposed brick walls, art deco furnishings, stunning hand-carved furniture, and custom-designed chandeliers. Much like the city of Denver itself, it is undeniably rustic with a welcoming atmosphere full of warmth and coziness.
Mile High Station can accommodate between 100 and 1,200 guests, with a seating capacity of up to 550 attendees. With almost 7,000 square feet of roomy event space spread across multiple levels, couples have a variety of ceremony and reception areas to choose from. These include the picturesque elevated Mezzanine and the West Patio which provides beautiful nighttime views of downtown Denver. The establishment’s attentive and detail-oriented event staff is provided to see that the day runs smoothly, and furniture is included with every event. A fully-stocked bar and a sizeable prep kitchen are also available, and they have an extensive list of approved caterers to choose from. Working with some of the city’s finest vendors, they can also arrange everything from photographers to bakers to make your day complete. With its unforgettable layout, this spacious and striking venue is a superb spot to create an incredible wedding experience.

LIZ Jeralds(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-05-2022 We booked our wedding at Mile High Station before COVID for May 2021, and Sarah was so helpful throughout the entire process with letting us know all of our options, providing recommendations for setup and layouts, updating us on COVID protocols and so much more. She helped make a very stressful process less so with how responsive and informative she was. We ended up postponing our wedding for a year and she made the process seamless. We were able to have the bridal party get ready on-site which was great, and the space looked beautiful for our wedding. Would absolutely reccomend it as a wedding venue! Reviewed on 15-01-2021
Ashley Harris(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2019 This venue is so beautiful and unique! We had our reception here and almost all of our guests, who were from out of state, were blown away. You can truly make the space whatever you would like it to be and in my opinion not much decor is needed in the space. The night of our Wedding, the Houston Astros just so happened to win the game that sent them to the World Series. The many TV's and the large bar area were great to throw our very own watch party. We especially have to give a shout out to one of the bartenders who worked our wedding, Marlin. He had the best energy and provided top notch service to us and all of our guests. Overall, we had a wonderful time! Reviewed on 22-12-2019

Jessica DiGiacomo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-02-2019 As soon as I walked into this venue I knew I wanted to get married here. The whole atmosphere with how open and big it is gives you so many options of setup for the reception and ceremony. Sarah, who we worked with, was very attentive and helpful with any and all the things we asked and needed. The only downfall to this venue is that it's not all inclusive and you do have to use caters form their list or pay a fee to bring in outside food. You have to use their bar but they have lots of different deals that work well. This venue is beautiful and absolutely worth checking out for a fun modern look for your wedding. Maddie Griffin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2019 Choosing Mile High Station for our wedding reception was a no brainer the moment we walked in, but working with Sarah is what really made this venue amazing! The exposed brick and iron was exactly the look we were going for and the large bar was an added bonus with a large guest count! There was plenty of room to have tables upstairs and down stairs while still having a large dance floor! Sarah was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and helped us ensure all of my family and our guest needs were taken care of! Thank you so much!!! Reviewed on 01-02-2019

The beautiful brick that comprises the venue makes the most gorgeous back drop for events of all kinds and the space is extremely versatile. Sarah Foley(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 I would recommend finding another place to host your event. We just hosted our wedding at their space 2 weeks ago and completely regret it. When we originally toured the location with Sarah, we loved it. We booked on the spot after reviewing the initial contract. The terms of the contract were not meet at all. We got a threatening letter about 95 days out from our wedding saying we needed to pay 50% of the total due bill by 90 days out in order to continue to \"secure your wedding date\" and were required to provide $1 million liability insurance for each of our vendors. This was not agreed upon in our contract so came as a big surprise to us. The original contract was a 60 day out payment and there was no requirement for liability insurance. I called Melissa to clarify as we wanted to be sure we paid on time and could save our date. So close to our wedding date we didn't have any other venue options. When I questioned the change she yelled at me saying Mile High Station has the ability to change contracts at any time. I tried to explain to Melissa this was not a clause in the contract and that contracts needed to be signed by both parties to supersede the original contract. She would not have it and continued to yell at me. We decided, in the end, to pay the bill and move forward so we were out of luck on having a space to host our 200 person wedding. A month out from the wedding we had our walkthrough. We found during this walkthrough they were 27 chairs, and 5 banquet tables short of what was listed in the contract. This required us to rent additional tables and spend more money. We ended up using their ugly folding chair instead of the really nice \"cherry wood\" chairs included in their contract as they didn't have as many as agreed on and refused to purchase or rent the amount in the contract. During our rehearsal the night before the wedding I noticed there was a large charity event being set up for. I confirmed with our Sarah that the facility would be cleaned by 9 am on the next day. We had paid a lot of extra money to rent Mile High Station starting at 9 am instead of that afternoon. When I arrived at the space at 10 am on the wedding day there were broken beer bottles and confetti all over the floor. The bathrooms were completely trashed, empty of toilet paper and filled with empty glasses and beers. The assistant at Mile High Station in the morning got me on the phone with Stephanie. I requested that they send out a cleaning crew to make sure the place was set for our event as agreed upon in writing and verbally. Instead of offering assistance she told me that the place had been cleaned and that I was a liar and a \"horrible bride\". This was pretty rough to hear on the day that is supposed to be the best day of your life. I took pictures and offered to send them to her but she was not interested and instead spent time again yelling at me. Apparently, $6,000 to rent the space is not enough to have it cleaned. My mother, sister and I spent the morning cleaning the place. Do not expect any sort of customer service or a good experience with Mile High Station. They made me feel absolutely horrible in my wedding planning experience and brought on very stressful tears on the day of my wedding. There are many great and significantly more affordable places to work with in Denver. I recommend not working with Mile High Station. Reviewed on 31-10-2017
Jordan Alvillar(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2017 Mile High Station is such a gem in Denver! We looked at a LOT of venues for our wedding - but we loved the industrial feel of Mile High Station and the space is SO functional. Very open layout with a lot of space, HUGE bar and lots of bathrooms (some venues we went to only had a few bathrooms). This was huge for us with our 115 guests - we didn't want to feel like people were cramped or were waiting in line for the bar or the bathroom. Another selling point is our wedding was a fall one - so because of this, I felt it may be risky going with a venue with outdoor attributes (I'm not really a Plan B type person) - so an indoor ceremony/reception was the best pick for us. Additionally, having the ceremony/reception in one place was AWESOME and made it so easy for our guests. We had our ceremony downstairs and our guests went upstairs for cocktail hour, and then back downstairs for dinner. The flow was just perfect. It's one of those spaces you don't have to dress up too much - it's just beautiful on its own. For photos - we went around the venue and just loved the brick industrial look (but if that's not your style and you're looking for a venue that's more in nature, MHS may not be the fit for you). The two women we worked with (Sarah/Melissa) were very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process! The staff they had at the bar were excellent as well! Incredibly efficient and fast with such a big group. Many of our attendees were local, and they had never had the opportunity to see the venue and people were raving about it all evening! We are SO glad we chose MHS as our venue - no regrets! It was so beautiful! Reviewed on 03-10-2017

Rachel Wanty(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-02-2016 My husband and I got married here in February 2016. The venue is striking and all of our guests commented on how unique and beautiful it was. It was great in terms of set up because it didn't take much decoration, we simply added a few clusters of plants to soften the space up a bit. The staff the day of our wedding were helpful, but certain things got forgotten like beverages for the boys as they got ready and the curtain I had requested to go around the bar during the wedding. Unfortunately these oversights were in line with how the whole planning process went. We had to ask very pointed question to get any answers, and even when we asked these questions we still didn't always get straight answers. \r\rOverall, I loved the way our wedding turned out, but it was an absolute headache to plan with Stephanie Walter. To other brides, I would tell you that this is a beautiful venue, but don't expect the planning to be seamless. Reviewed on 22-03-2016
Casey Wheel(groom)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-10-2015 We held our wedding at Mile High Station. It is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue, especially for fall weddings. You can easily hold the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one great place. Melissa was our point of contact and was very accommodating in many ways (rehearsal, numerous emails/questions). The bartenders/staff were great, and everything ran smoothly. I couldn't ask for a better wedding day.\r\rHowever, when I received our final bill, I lost some trust in their business. We were aware there was a 20% gratuity charge that goes with the alcohol bill in our signed contract, which seemed fairly standard. Yet, we inaccurately assumed that 20% gratuity would then be divided between the Mile High employees who worked the venue the day-of. However, we learned after the wedding that while it is called \"gratuity\" it's actually a house charge that the \"day of\" staff does not receive. (I'm grateful that we still brought cash to tip the bartenders on that night as well as our friends who tipped throughout the night). So from my perspective we gave their business a 20% tip on the alcohol we purchased from them, or they charged us 20% more for alcohol than we really thought. \r\rWhile I acknowledge Mile High can charge whatever they want, and however they want, I felt intentionally mislead about the verbiage of where my money was going. That in incredibly unfortunate, since we really enjoyed our night. Reviewed on 11-11-2015

Though they aren't very flexible in terms of your caterer (you have to choose from a specific list) or DJ (only one company is allowed to use their sound system) it's worth it because we were truly thrilled with those vendors as well. Bryn Samuelson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2012 Mile High Station is an amazing wedding venue, somewhat unknown in the heart of Denver. Located under I-25 and Colfax, the historic iron works building provides an amazing setting for an all-in-one for your wedding ceremony and reception. The architecture and exposed bricks on the interior provided the perfect backdrop to our vintage theme wedding, but would also lend itself to a great modern wedding, with very little additional decor required. The event manager was incredibly organized and thoroughly explained the rules of the venue, preferred caterers, bar options and made the experience very lovely. Between the caterer who already had an established relationship with Mile High Station, and the manager at MHS, we did not have any reason to hire a wedding planner - which was worth the cost of the venue. They have free parking for guests (unheard of in Denver) and even allowed guests to leave their cars overnight. We had set up a curtain to divide the ceremony space from the reception space, and it felt very intimate. The building has a great style on its own- it seems like you could make it more or less formal depending on your wedding vision- we had a fun, outdoorsy theme and it went over beautifully. I also liked their patio area by the bar where guests could hang outside if they wanted some fresh air. We got a lot of great feedback about Mile High Station from our guests. \r\rWe worked with Dana over at MHS and everything went very smoothly. She was always easy to reach if we had a question, and very professional. They had worked with our other vendors (caterer, DJ, florist, cupcakes, etc) previously, so it was nice to know that there would be no logistical issues to worry about.
