Milford Hills was the first venue we looked at after getting engaged and knew right away it was the perfect venue for our wedding. It is the perfect mix of rustic charm and elegance. The views are stunning and the staff is outstanding. Heidi the event coordinator was wonderful and we didn’t have to worry about anything, Heidi had it covered even down to the smallest of details. The food was so good, our guest still haven’t stopped talking about it. I would highly recommend Milford Hills to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Reviewed on 10-10-2023

I had my wedding at Milford Hills in the beginning of June, it is an absolutely gorgeous venue. I would most definitely recommend this venue to other couples who are getting married. My husband and I didn’t feel like barns, golf courses or hotels fit our vibe. We felt like this venue really spoke to our style. The outdoor grounds are absolutely gorgeous as well as inside the clubhouse. We worked with Heidi who did a lovely job helping us plan our perfect day. This venue has so many food and drink options that you will find something you love. My guests absolutely loved the dinner that was provided. The day of ran quite smoothly and would recommend this to anyone looking for a venue for their big day. Reviewed on 21-06-2023

We had a spring wedding at the Clubhouse at Milford Hills and would highly recommend it to others! It’s a beautiful venue with great scenery for photos, and we received a lot of compliments about how nice everything was. We worked with Heidi at the venue to coordinate everything - she did a fantastic job and was really knowledgeable and helpful. One of the main reasons we chose it over others was because so much is handled in-house, which meant juggling fewer vendors ourselves: the food (which was fantastic), bar, service, and most decor (we really only had to bring in florals) was all handled through Milford. The getting-ready rooms for bride & groom parties were really nice too, and also on-site. The groom’s party also had fun shooting trap in the morning day-of. We had a wonderful experience - highly recommend! Reviewed on 28-05-2023

They set up and tore down everything so that my family and I did not have to stress about it on the day of. When we arrived after the ceremony everything was exactly how I pictured it. Sierra Kessler(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2022 We highly recommend this venue! Our September wedding wouldn’t have been the same if we tied the knot anywhere else. Milford is absolutely gorgeous - from the drive into the venue, to the wedding arch over looking a pond and trees, to the romantic reception area - the scenery really set the tone for the day. Aside from Milford Hills being a beautiful location, the food and service is top notch. Milford makes it very easy when it comes to dinner as they prepare the food in house. They host an excellent tasting where you can try your choices before you decide. We received so many compliments at the wedding and after regarding how delicious the food was. What really made the day extra special was the service. Everyone was extremely attentive and friendly. Milford’s event coordinator Heidi made our day perfect. She went above and beyond when it came to our requests for the day. She made sure everything went off perfectly and we are so thankful! We highly recommend this venue and all it has to offer! Caitlin Radloff(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 Milford Hills was nothing short of amazing from the time we met with them for our initial tour to the actual wedding day, and even beyond! Their event coordinator, Heidi Ott, was exceptional in her attentiveness to our questions and requests and her thoroughness in response to anything we threw her way. In regard to food, the venue has so many wonderful options to choose from, and all of them are prepared with great care making each meal truly decadent and delicious. Our bar service was incredibly lively, and definitely played into the fun of the night! They were also very attentive to our guests and their requests, and took care of everyone so incredibly well. The venue overall is absolutely beautiful, providing an elegant space for the entire event and a wide variety of places to take gorgeous pictures. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and truly wants to do whatever they can to make your day as perfect as possible for you and your spouse. Funny story - on our wedding day, our bakery ended up showing up incredibly late, so by the time we were supposed to have our dessert table ready, it was still empty. Milford Hills stepped up, pulled out all the desserts that they had on hand, prepared them, and served them to make sure that we had something to offer our guests. One of their staff members even ran out to the store to pick up a cake for us so we could still do our cake cut! If that doesn't speak to the care and work they put in to make sure that you truly have the best day of your life on your wedding day, I don't know what else will. Kelly Dougherty(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2020 UPDATE: I wrote a very honest review, see below. Shortly thereafter, I received a telephone call from the owner. This telephone call went a long way to try to make multiple things that went wrong, right. We spoke multiple times on the telephone and also via email. He followed up, and made zero excuses for what happened...he listened. Which is what I really needed, to be heard.Hopefully, they can improve on the items that went wrong for future brides. Everyone has a bad day, as a bride you just hope that their bad day is not on your wedding day...but it happens. This venue is absolutely GORGEOUS if you are looking for an outdoor wedding...which most people are due to the pandemic. ORIGINAL REVIEW:If you want a gorgeous outdoor wedding this is the perfect place. If you want complete lack of organization, unprofessional behavior, rude staff... this is also your place.A wedding day for a bride should be perfect. The venue event coordinator should not be the cause of a significant amount of stress. The fact a guest had to call her out on her condescending behavior is ridiculous. The fact she was terribly rude to a wedding party is unacceptable. Oh wait, and have the final bill, which is a private matter, sent to the wrong people. No words! The communication is lackluster. Good luck tying to talk to Heidi on the phone. It won’t happen. Again perfect for a beautiful outdoor wedding but if you want to have to tell the wedding coordinator to get out of your photos or to be treated respectfully I would suggest looking elsewhere. That is just the start of a series of things I could say as a bride about this venue: unprofessional, unorganized, rude, uncooked chicken, etc.End result... I married the man of my dreams in a pandemic. Milford Hills allowed that to happen. However, for the cost and promises we were made I would think twice. If you want a responsive wedding coordinator, Heidi is not your gal. If you want an organized staff member in billing Colleen is also not your gal. If you want a beautiful hayride on a fall day with a wedding party. You found your place. If you want to have to correct them about a chair count outside an hour before your wedding... this also is your place. If you want Heidi in your wedding photos or to be rude to your wedding party and also your guests... again this is your place. Or for her to tell your mom and close friends they cannot help you. Needless to say beautiful venue. Could be a fantastic place with some new help, more help, or help that is better trained. I’m thankful it was COVID friendly venue, but also thankful it’s over! I really wanted to recommend this venue. I wanted to write a glowing review as they were still doing weddings during COVID and I had to re-schedule to there. However, I cannot. I would not recommend this venue. Unfortunately, I cannot get my day back to redo. Please be aware of what your getting into. The above review was only the beginning of a mess. Buyer beware! Reviewed on 12-10-2020

The grounds at Milford Hills are beautiful and were a perfect backdrop for photos. Our guests really enjoyed the ceremony and reception. Our out of town guests were amazed that we were able to find such a unique and wonderful venue. The food was great. (Make sure you order extra pheasant poppers). The drinks were generous. It made planning tricking, but luckily for us, Heidi, our last coordinator was the best! She was super prompt with answering any questions/emails. She went above and beyond the day of, as if I hired a third party coordinator. All our guests could not believe the scenery and ambiance of our venue. We got asked many times on our wedding night how we found such in incredible wedding venue. My husband and I followed our true passion and interest(the outdoors) and felt Milford Hills was the best way to show that to our guests. Love the nature and simplistic beauty of the outdoors? Samantha Houk(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2019 There is no doubt that Milford Hills is a beautiful venue to consider for you upcoming wedding! We toured Milford Hills in July of 2018 and by this time they already had most Saturday's taken for their 2019 season. We chose to book a Friday wedding in September 2019 shortly after touring. At this time, we had worked with Erin, wedding planner. Everything seemed great, and as you will come to find out not much planning happens until the final months. By the time 2019 rolled in, we were contacted by Winter, letting us know she would be our new wedding planner moving forward with Milford. In the short time we worked with Winter, she was hard to get a hold of, and when asking questions via email could not provide a straight answer on most. We finally decided to setup an in-person meeting, and she was super helpful in answering our questions and helping us budget. Jump forward to June/July when our first payment is due, and we spent three weeks attempting to contact Winter with some questions, and finally Colleen, Milford's Finance Manager reached out to us letting us know that Winterwas no longer with Milford and our new planner, Heidi, would be in touch soon. Heidi was luckily our last planner at Milford and was not off to a great start with communication either. Our wedding day went fairly well. We never received the bridal mimosa bar, it rained the day of and communication was poor about what we were doing, and at one point I was left at the bridal suite alone with no idea of what was going on. We had rules set for our bar, suggested by Milford, and one main rule was no shots for our guests on our bar tab. Guests would need to pay for those on our own. This was not enforced, and the bartenders allowed our guests to spin some shot wheel they had out. This was not OK with us and the finance manager, Colleen had no empathy and did not even reply to my last message about my distaste for the bartender behavior. Our wedding did turn out well, but it was stressful and annoying to work with Milford Hills on things we thought could have been handled better. We have come to the conclusion that Milford Hills has a great venue with wedding opportunities, but their communication is poor internal and external. If you are someone that needs strong communication during their wedding planning process, Milford Hillsis not for you. Reviewed on 21-10-2019

Jess Muszynski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2019 I had my dream wedding- on a budget- at Milford Hills. We had a dream of a outdoorsy small wedding, with delicious food and fun. We were able to do all of this at Milford hills. I suggest booking out a year/two early, we did so and got a great promo of half off venue rental and a half-off night in the lodge (we stayed in the north lodge with our wedding party, it was sooo much fun!) We used the smaller venue- the hideaway, which is perfect for a small/intimate ceremony and reception. We went through a few coordinators, but actual coordinator for the wedding, Heidi, was SO SO awesome and just made our day perfect. Heidi truly stepped in close to our wedding and made everything come together so awesome. The venue was gorgeous, the staff went above and beyond, and we got so many compliments from our guests on everything! One thing that was off-putting was tip jars being out for the bartenders when we were already paying a 20% service fee. It is typically to tip the staff assisting with the event. Other than that one thing I was over the moon about how things came together and Heidi was phenomenal. So personable and accommodating! Brittany L(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-08-2019 First, I'll start with the good: - EXCELLENT food- Friendly and professional staff day of (all bartenders and servers the day of our wedding were fantastic!)- Beautiful venue with good value in freedom of customizing several bar and food optionsThe sole negative feedback driving this review is the lack of professionalism and poor communication demonstrated by the various coordinators and overall management. The not-so-good:- Milford Hills went through 5 wedding coordinators since our contracted time with them, and we were only informed during one of those changeovers (in another instance, I had been trying to e-mail our coordinator for several weeks when finally I got an auto reply to the most recent e-mail I had sent was a \"fail to deliver\". Upon calling Milford Hills, they informed me that the coordinator had left weeks ago). Between each replacement, I'd estimate that only about 60% of our planning details got conveyed correctly. Each coordinator gave us different information bits for fairly large details necessary for wedding planning (e.g. how many people the venue can fit, available beverage packages, discontinuing dinner items that we planned on serving) - this made wedding planning a lot more work than it should have been.- Milford Hills dropped our planned rehearsal dinner for another event and only gave us about 3.5 weeks notice- The event coordinator that Milford Hills gave us for the day of our wedding had no prior experience ever coordinating a wedding. While she overall did OK, she failed to do several key things that we relied on her for, such as distributing tips to vendors and cuing our ceremony and processionalI'm not usually someone who writes reviews, but I received an e-mail from asking Milford Hills for feedback shortly after our wedding. After providing the very feedback described above, I got an e-mail back from management that was very defensive and basically denying that they have any of these problems. Weddings and mistakes happen, and I get that our wedding wasn't the biggest priority to them, but to see management not even entertain the possibility that details got dropped on our wedding, and to take our constructive criticism so ridiculously, was a bit disappointing and should maybe serve as a caution for future brides. There are very little reviews from 2019 on here and I'm starting to wonder why. Overall, I think you can absolutely have a beautiful wedding here - but for everything to run smoothly, you might be better off hiring your own outside coordinator. Reviewed on 07-09-2019

The amount of work and time she invested in our day, would make us recommend Milford Hills just to work with her. Casey Levin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-07-2018 My husband and I got married at Milford Hills in July! Overall, the venue was perfect from the food to the staff service as stated in other reviews. My only issues were that a lot of stuff that I had rented were lost in the take down (as other brides have stated), there were 3 planners who all stated different things on how the day would go, the day of coordinator was not seen until 3pm on the day of the wedding, they lost our lodge reservation for the weekend and when I confirmed it was already rented out to another group so we had to find other arrangements, we offered to pay for shooting before for the guys which was double the price stated even though it was in our wedding quote as a different price, and I was told a weather plan B that was completely different than what was going to happen 3 days before the wedding. The venue is perfect and my only recommendation is to hire a day of coordinator on your own that way there will be no issues! As I said the actual waitstaff, food, location, and venue are perfect which is why I rated it 5 stars! Just hire someone to help that is consistent throughout the planning process and who will be there day of and you will be 100% happy! Reviewed on 04-11-2018

It was the perfect rustic chic venue. We got SO MANY compliments on how gorgeous the place was. During the wedding planning people asked if I was having a lot of decorations for the reception, when I said no, I think many were surprised. This place has so much natural beauty it truly stands on its own.I also cannot say enough about the staff! They were honestly FANTASTIC! Our coordinator Erin was so helpful during the planning process and and during the rehearsal dinner and wedding itself. I also received so many compliments on how well the staff handled the wedding. Whitney Wagner(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-08-2018 This venue was exactly what my husband and I had envisioned for our wedding day. From the first day we went there to visit, I knew our wedding was going to be beautiful. It turned out to be just that! The food was out of this world, our guests enjoyed themselves, and the service by the wedding staff was great! However, there were a few things that we were disappointed with. As others have mentioned, we were thrown into having three different event planners throughout. This caused for a lot of confusion based on things one said over another. I think a lot of our notes on specific details were missed due to being overlooked because of the turnovers. There were things that were promised to us, but then not followed through on. For example, we were told there would be drink signs explaining the bar situation. There was no such thing, and people didn't even know we had signature drinks. We had also asked for some of the venue's original decor to be left in areas we weren't decorating to add to the room, and they removed all of it instead. There are two separate areas on the property for the guys and girls to get ready in, which is nice. However, there was little to no communication between buildings. So, we had no idea what was going on and when we were supposed to be where. Our photographer was running between buildings to try and keep us on the same page. I only saw the event planner once before I walked down the aisle. We were also under the impression that our photo slideshow would be displayed on both sides of the bar. It was only on one, and the one room didn't even know there was a slideshow. We had set up a golf cart to use for taking sunset photos with one of the previous planners, but on the day of the wedding, the planner said we had to set it up ahead of time, which we had. Overall, I was extremely happy with our wedding experience and venue. No one would have known that these issues even existed the day of our wedding. We just kept thinking of things days after our wedding that we had talked about with the event planners that were not followed through on or lacked communication with. Our wedding still turned out to be perfect for us and fit our wedding vision.I would recommend this venue to others because it has a lot to offer. The backdrop is gorgeous, the food is outstanding, and the waitstaff is so friendly. The price point is affordable as well, given that everything is all in one place and the packages. It's nice that they offer to set up/take down for you, but this also led to misplaced items. I would just advise to make sure that the event planner is aware of everything you want and actually follows through with it. Reviewed on 20-09-2018

Brittany Namowicz(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2018 The management is an absolute joke, the business is untrustworthy and will upcharge you to no end, none of the details about the services provided and the prices are well defined, there is very poor communication with management including the wedding planner, and the venue will not follow through on almost all promises they made such as setting up and taking down decorations and providing chairs, tables, etc. We've had several items that were either destroyed or have been lost by Milford Hills.Working with Milford Hills, if you could call the extremely poor service they privided as work, has been an absolute nightmare. We had 3 wedding planners, all of which gave us different information and would not respond to emails or calls for months at a time. The management and ownership is completely irresponsible and will redirect you to lower management and will ignore you, treating you as if you are a burden instead of a paying customer. The workers themselves are pleasant and the wedding coordinator that we ended up with did try to put together aspects of the wedding completely on their own, so the obvious problem is with the lazy and incompetent management and ownership. However, even with the workers trying to make the best out of poor situation, much of our wedding had to be setup ourselves (by the bride and groom) the day of the wedding, including the ceremony site, Hor d'oeuvres, and many parts of the reception, with the wedding planner being no where to be found or having extremely poor communication with the wedding party, causing further chaos. The food itself was good, but again, the communication about the food and the constantly increasing prices made it a headache even when it was served. The site itself is gorgeous but it is so poorly managed and operated that it not worth the hassle nor the ever increasing prices (we found out about $1000+ extra charges 3 days before the wedding!)!I absolutely cannot recommend this venue to anyone. Until the management puts in any effort or is completely let go, until the owner starts to care about the business and try, and until the venue itself clearly defines their many charges and fees and their allegedly services and then actually deliver in providing those services STAY AWAY!Find another venue and save yourself a lot of money and stress! Our guests were floored by how beautiful is was, and kept asking \"how did you find this place?\" The food was excellent. The tables and chairs included in the rental fee are very nice. The outdoor patio area was really nice for the bonfire. The bride and groom get ready is completely separate buildings so there's no chance of an accidental glimpse. They have many options for food, alcohol, and extras such as bonfire, wagon ride, fireworks, and more. The pricing is also fairly competitive. We had a couple hiccups along the way. They switched event coordinators twice during our planning period which was a little nerve-racking. The event-coordinator missed one of our meetings. The manager made a rude remark when she thought we weren't able to hear. They messed up some of the decor set-up. One of our signature cocktails was not very good at all. We would not have chosen another venue if we knew these things were going to happen ahead of time. It is a memorable space, and we greatly enjoyed our wedding day. Reviewed on 18-11-2017

That was just the beginning... the food was amazing, the clubhouse was a beautiful venue, and the staff was so amazing. They helped me setup everything and cleaned up everything for me as well! I didn't have to worry about a single thing other than having a great time. Milford Hills was also lenient with us when our guests were having a great time and the DJ kept playing to let us stay a couple of songs longer. I loved all the extras that Milford Hills offers that we included in our wedding to make it unique: bridal party hayride (definitely worth it!), fireworks (best part!), lawn games, outdoor bar, fire pit with s'mores, bistro lights over our night time patio, staying at the cabin, getting ready on-site, shooting for the guys before the wedding, signature drinks, late night pizzas... and SO MUCH more! We received so many compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and we felt that it was very reasonably priced. I also loved that we were able to host our rehearsal there and that Milford Hills staff made that really fun as well and had the bar open just for us when we arrived. I am beyond pleased that Milford Hills took care of every detail for us to make this run smoothly from start to finish in this process, and we were able to enjoy it with no worries. Hanna Heintz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2017 We chose Milford Hills for our reception venue and we couldn't be any happier with it. Sara Wollin, the on-site event coordinator, was one of the most helpful people we worked with throughout the entire wedding process. She answered all of our questions and emails immediately, and was more than willing to accommodate all of our requests. She was also incredibly organized, making sure she had all of the information she needed from us to make sure our day went as we were envisioning. The venue was very flexible with us, allowing us to make several adjustments, and even staying late one evening so we could take another set of measurements of the reception space. The waitstaff and bartenders on the day of the wedding were impeccable. Multiple family members commented to us after the wedding how impressed they were with the service. Overall, the day went flawlessly, thanks to Sara's organization and coordination. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and the price was very reasonable for the flawless service we received. Ellen Roy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-05-2017 There are not enough stars for how much we loved having our wedding at Milford Hills! We had both our ceremony and reception for 140 guests on May 6, 2017, and the day was absolutely perfect. Sara helped us with every step in the planning process -- she was always quick, thorough, and thoughtful with communication as we planned our wedding from out-of-state. And day-of, she was always available (but never intrusive) and made everything happen seamlessly so that John and I could just enjoy the day. The staff was courteous and accommodating and truly made us feel at home. The food was delicious, and the chefs did a fantastic job catering to all dietary needs through all courses. We also appreciated how flexible they were with all decisions, particularly with creating a personalized bartending plan that fit our vision and budget. It is amazing how this hunting lodge can transform into a very beautiful and elegant ceremony and reception site. One unexpected highlight was the capacity for different spaces for different people at the reception: the south side of the room was for dancing, we left the north side set up with chairs and tables where people could have conversation over dessert, and we also had a bonfire with s'mores set up outside so guests could enjoy some fresh air. We also stayed at the cabin on the hunt cub property the night of the wedding and appreciated the chance to have a peaceful, quiet night and morning after the big day. I could go on and on -- Milford Hills is a dream come true. Thank you for everything!! Reviewed on 16-05-2017

Four months later our guests are still talking about how much fun our wedding was and how gorgeous Milford Hills is. We fell in love with the venue at our initial visit after finding it online after a long search for the perfect venue. Driving up to it I knew we had found our venue. It could not be a more beautiful setting. From the drive up to the venue, to the beautiful outside ceremony site and breathtaking reception space it is the perfect venue if you are looking for that rustic, unique feel. We knew we wanted a venue that was not your traditional banquet hall and was a representation of us and we couldn't have found a more perfect venue. All of our guests said that they could not have imagined us getting married anywhere else. We live 2 hours away from Milford Hills along with our families and friends but it was well worth the drive. I can't tell you how many of our guests asked us how we came across this gorgeous venue. You fell like you're in your own country paradise. We also cannot say enough good things about the event coordinator Shae and all of the staff at Milford Hills. Shae was so easy to work with and always responded back to emails quickly. She even helped us accommodate very last minute additions to our guest list. Shae and her staff made sure that everything went smoothly the night of the wedding. All of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and received a lot of compliments from our guests. Shae and the staff at Milford Hills definitely go above and beyond to make sure that everything is perfect and that you have the wedding of your dreams. Shae even held an umbrella over me the night of rehearsal so that I was covered since it was raining. The guys all went clay shooting the morning of the wedding and could not have had more fun. They are already talking about how they are going to make it a yearly tradition. We could go on and on about how amazing the venue and staff is. We honestly do not have one complaint/bad thing to say. You will definitely not regret booking this venue for your wedding. There is not a more beautiful place that we can think of for a wedding. Within a day she would always get back to my questions/emails. And made sure that we stayed on task when we needed to plan and get together. \r\rThe day of the wedding was sort of stressful due to the rain and where we were going to have the ceremony.
