We got married on 10/21 and used Minneapolis Golf Club for our reception and I'm SO glad we did! MGC is affordable and Nancy was a joy to work with! She really knows her stuff, responds to you in less than 24 hours for ANY and ALL questions (and I had a lot!) and made me feel confident about our choices. When we did our final walkthrough, the ball room was already setup so we got to see it and Nancy was able to give us suggestions on layout/seating due to her knowledge and experience. We had about 180 people and the space was big enough to not make it feel too crowded but it also wasn't too big. Their food was great and our guests kept raving about it. I highly recommend checking out MGC for your wedding, you won't regret it!

I was so pleased with everything for our wedding in September!! Nancy is the best in the business and everyone knows it! When working w other vendors they would always say they loved doing events at the MGC because they know their stuff! The staff were great and so accommodating. Great location and it was reasonably priced and great food. We had about 200 people and the space size was perfect for both the ceremony & the reception. If you are thinking about having your event here - DO IT!!

We loved our wedding experience at Minneapolis Golf Club (MGC)! MGC is a beautiful venue and one close to our hearts, given the many family memories it holds. With over 20 years of experience, Nancy’s guidance was MUCH appreciated (as were her quick responses to every one of our questions). From the planning process through to the actual wedding day, everything was seamlessly executed with exceptional attention to detail and specific requests. Nancy and the MGC team were on top of everything – We specifically received multiple compliments on the efficiency of the dinner service as well as the delicious food and short bar wait. We would highly recommend selecting MGC as your wedding venue. 5 stars!

To say that this venue is wedding-perfection would be an understatement! We absolutely loved our experience with Minneapolis Golf Club. The whole process from booking the venue up to the wedding day was so smooth and perfect. Nancy, the catering/events coordinator was super helpful on making sure everything ran accordingly and is very organized. All of our guests could not get over how amazing the food was and how beautiful the venue was. The food and drink minimum are very reasonable considering how much weddings costs these days. I HIGHLY recommend hosting your wedding here.

We had the absolute best experience with Minneapolis Golf Club (MGC) and Nancy! Nancy is the director of catering and does the event planning. She truly was the absolute best to work with! She has been there over 22 years and knows everything there is to know about MGC and weddings. Nancy was great at responding to all of my questions very quickly and was at MGC the day of the day of the wedding to help make sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout the planning process, she was very helpful and gave us many good recommendations. Another bonus of MGC is that the venue is so beautiful on it’s own, it requires very minimal decorations. One thing that was very important to me was that there were no hidden fees, I have many friends who have gotten burned on that in the past. Nancy and MGC were very upfront with their prices and we had no hidden fees. The food was made in house and was absolutely fabulous. We did passed appetizers and a plated dinner and got many compliments on it throughout the night. One thing I did like about MGC, is they do allow you to bring in your own desserts for free, there is a cake cutting fee, but we did cupcakes, so this wasn’t a problem.

The MGC was an amazing venue to work with for our wedding. The ballroom was gorgeous and just grand enough but still cozy for our winter wedding. Outdoors is beautiful anytime of the year for photos! The venue coordinator, Nancy was easy to communicate with and often made our lives easier. We had a few special requests, and she didn't even blink an eye, just made it happen. Day of setup was a breeze. I really credit this venue and the staff to how easy, smooth, and fun our wedding day was!! On top of that, the venue prices were reasonable for all the amenities. We got rave reviews from our guests that drinks were made well and efficiently (no waiting in line) and that all the food that they provided was delicious! I don't have a bad word to say about MGC, don't hesitate to check them out!

We are absolutely thrilled we chose to have our wedding at the Minneapolis Golf club! Nancy made the entire planning process an absolute breeze. She was responsive, helpful, and even provided vendor recommendations for various rentals with the best rates in town. Her years of experience in event planning was so evident and she was a huge asset in our planning process. The venue was STUNNING. We leveraged the bridal suite to get ready in the morning and it truly made the start of our day so smooth and easy and was the perfect space for our large group to get ready. The views of the golf course in the main ballroom and access to the veranda overlooking the course set a gorgeous backdrop for our evening. The food was incredible and we had many guests comment that it was the best meal they had ever had at wedding before. From the apps, to the main courses, to the late night snacks and desserts— everything was top notch and priced at a great value. The staff was helpful, professional, and genuinely cared about every guest. They worked hard to ensure everything ran smoothly and had no trouble pivoting when there were delays in our timeline. Hands-down the best wedding venue and event/catering team in Minneapolis! Cannot recommend MGC enough!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at MGC and we would highly recommend the venue to anyone. Nancy, her team, and the staff were extremely professional and helpful from day one all the way up to and past the wedding date. Nancy was super responsive and very transparent about every detail so there were no surprises. We planned our wedding from out of state so we relied on Nancy to help us and she knocked it out of the park. She was efficient in her communications and her recommendations were spot on. I would tell anyone to follow her advice, she clearly has every detail down to make your day as stress free as possible. Not a single thing went wrong the day of.The course and venue were absolutely beautiful (especially with the fall colors) so we didn't need a single decoration. Our guests did not stop telling us how perfect everything was. Also, the late night pizza was a BIG hit for our guests.

We had an incredible planning and wedding day experience with the Minneapolis Golf Club. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Nancy Johnson who is AMAZING at her job. From our very first interaction while touring the venue, Nancy was kind, informative, and shared ways to keep our wedding budget-friendly; her attentiveness and helpfulness towards us was consistent throughout the entire planning process. She answered every single email within 24 hours, and was always available for a quick phone call when we needed her. The bridal suite at the venue is a dream and we had so much fun getting ready there. We had just about 200 guests, and the space was perfect for both the ceremony and reception. The food is incredible, as well. If you're looking for a low-stress, elegant experience, I cannot recommend MGC enough.

Nancy was wonderful to work with and was very responsive to all our our questions. Henry and the rest of the day-of-event staff did an amazing job with our cocktail hour and dinner service. So many of our guests complimented the delicious food and the beautiful reception venue.

From the appetizers to the entrees, our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they’ve had. The staff was helpful and courteous. It was beautiful inside and out. Absolutely perfect venue for our 190 guests.

We held our ceremony and reception at MGC and would do it all again!! Nancy the main coordinator was so helpful throughout the process and was a pleasure to work with. The day-of staff was amazing as well. Everyone helped to make sure our day happened without a hitch. The food was amazing, the space turned out beautiful with just minimal decorations. I really appreciated that they didn't have many hidden or add on costs. What we agreed to is what we paid.My husband and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married soon!

We just had our wedding reception here and could not be more pleased with how everything went! We had multiple guests come up to us and specifically express how delicious the food was and how much they loved the overall aesthetic of the venue. Nancy, the event director, was great to work with and always made sure we thought of everything, which was very reassuring as the bride and making sure I wasn't missing any key details. Overall, the booking and planning experience was great start to finish! MGC met our expectations and then some!

Ya'll, you need to RUN - don't walk- to this place for a tour. Actually, you should SPRINT. I cannot say enough good things about Nancy, Maggie, and the entire staff there. My fiancé and I toured MANY places and let me tell you, they have it all.We chose to postpone our wedding an entire year because of COVID, so we had a LOT of time to get to know Nancy and the staff. Nancy always emailed us back right away and answered any question we had, no matter how silly or stupid. She clearly knows what she is doing, I didn't hire a day of coordinator or wedding coordinator because Nancy was so great at answering questions. Maggie (who helps day of) was so helpful and excited for us. When I got there at 10am she was practicing setting up our head table to make sure I thought it looked good. I don't think there was a single request I had that the staff said \"no\" to. I still can't believe it.The chef was also amazing with accommodating our requests. We had a non-traditional winter wedding buffet of brats and sauerkraut, BBQ chicken, cornbread, and man & cheese. This was not on the menu, so Nancy asked the chef and he said he was able to do it, no problem! We got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on the food (like, more compliments on the food than my dress! I digress). One last thing - I highly recommend renting the bridal suite and buying the package with mirrored stations and getting ready in the room. All of my makeup artists and hair stylists said it was \"the nicest bridal suite they have gotten to work out of*. And the lighting coming from all of the huge windows in the suite is *chef's kiss* simply perfect for getting your makeup done. The lunch was delicious too - we dipped the homemade chips into the egg salad for egg salad sandwiches like it was going out of style. And none of us are big into egg salad? But it was so good. Well if you for some reason are still reading the rest of my novel review, please go and book a venue tour at MGC. You won't regret it.

Maggie and Nancy went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure our hitch went off without a 'hitch'! Nancy was prompt and professional, always quick to reply to emails and calls. She is so well connected and provided us with great recommendations for vendors (all of whom spoke highly of the venue). She was very accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure smooth transitions on our wedding day. Maggie is a ball of energy and made the planning process and day of so much fun!Their energy, professionalism, and expertise made the planning process (amidst covid) and day of calm and fun.We received many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, and the golf course and building lent themselves great for our photos.The bridal suite was a great touch to making the morning a fun success!

Nancy and her team at the Minneapolis Golf Club are PHENOMENAL. I had booked a wedding venue in downtown Minneapolis amidst all of the civil unrest, and I was so nervous that the previous venue was going to be burned down that I decided to switch to the Minneapolis Golf Club, and I could not have been happier with the decision. The golf course and landscaping provided a BEAUTIFUL backdrop for the ceremony, reception, and our photos. The staff was prepared, efficient, and quick to respond to email inquiries. I literally had no stress because Nancy and her team were so on top of everything - very professional and experienced with great advice for brides like me who need all the help they can get! We ended up having our rehearsal dinner at the venue as well, and the crew was so accommodating. We just made sure to serve a different entrée and salad for the rehearsal dinner than the day of the wedding so people didn't get sick of the food. Speaking of which - the food was absolutely amazing. The day of our wedding we served the Filet Mignon & Poached Shrimp and Crispy Tuscan Chicken with the mashed potatoes and asparagus with each. My guests and I all agreed that the food was superior to any other wedding meal we have ever had. We had the ceremony in the same space as the reception, and our guests went and had a cocktail hour in the bar/main hall area while the staff flipped the room. Honestly, the cocktail hour (technically it was an hour and a half because we hired a crew to set up linens and flowers so it took some time) was perfect and went by so quickly. The staff served all the delicious appetizers of our choice to our guests and had champagne ready for everyone as soon as they exited the ceremony so as not to overwhelm the bartender during the cocktail hour. It helped avoid lines at the bar, and people were able to continue mingling while butlers passed the horduerves around on trays. The reception space had a dance floor in the front of the room in front of the huge windows for a lovely backdrop, and the Club has a lit-up balcony that guests could cool off and mingle on during dance breaks. Our guests had a great time hanging in the bar area, balcony area, and dance floor all night long. The staff helped to make sure we had everything wrapped up by 11:30. One tip: the bridal get ready room is awesome, and I highly recommend paying for the package that includes the vanity mirrors, breakfast buffet, and mimosas. It was SO much fun for all of us, and we really got pumped for the walk down the aisle. Choose this venue! You won't regret it!! Thanks Nancy & the Minneapolis Golf Club crew for making our special day better than we could have ever expected!

There are two reasons why we chose the Minneapolis Golf Club: the food and access to the venue. We loved having the whole venue to ourselves for the day so our guests could wander around freely. There was a ton of choices on the menu but for the main course, we selected the filet mignon and Tuscan chicken. Many of our guests raved about the filet and we knew they would based on our tasting. We also enjoyed working with Nancy because she has a ton of experience with large events, has great ideas and is very detailed oriented. I have one piece of constructive criticism about the menu. We chose the mac and cheese for a late afternoon snack, it didn’t meet my expectations, especially when compared to the quality of their other dishes.

We had out wedding reception at MGC in August of 2021. It was an absolute blast and went extremely smoothly. It genuinely went off without a hitch. We had to postpone a year due to COVID, and the manager there, Nancy was very understanding and helpful through the process. As far as the day-of the wedding, I highly recommend to do the bridal suite upgrade. It turns out beautiful and really sets the tone for the day. The food was 10/10 (so many great options to choose from). Lastly, I cannot emphasize enough, that Maggie (who is the day-of go to gal for the bridal party) was the biggest star of them all. She is incredible at what she does and is a ball of energy, who is excited to help with anything and everything you could ever need. If I could do it all over again I would choose this venue in a heartbeat. They have it down to a science! HIGHLY recommend this venue for your wedding.

All the employees were SO nice and we were even allowed to take pictures on the beautiful golf course. Nancy was very responsive during the planning process. It was evident she was an organized person and we were able to email her any questions and she'd be able to answer knowing who she was talking to. She made the event so much easier being so helpful. The venue itself was so clean and beautiful! They only have one room for getting ready so we had a room separator put up so the guys and girls could interact. It was so much fun to have the whole wedding party together. The guys went down to the bar while I got in my dress before the first look. The food was spectacular. We still get comments from guests on the food and how good it was. There are hotels not far away which was very convenient to get to for out of town guests. The whole wedding party and many guests went to the bars in West End after the venue closed to end the night which was so much fun and easy to get to. Highly recommend this venue due to staff, clean and organized, location, amazing food, and so on!

Hands down the best decision my fiancé and I made, when planning our wedding, was choosing to host our reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club (and working with MGC's Director of Catering & Events, Nancy Johnson!). Like many newly engaged couples, we had no idea where to start with the planning process. It was overwhelming. We had felt as though many venues had hidden costs and just didn't instill trust that they would do a great job. That was until we toured the MGC and met with Nancy. Nancy and her staff were clear from the beginning on what was possible for our reception as well as provided a lot of valuable planning advice. We walked away from that first meeting feeling confident and excited! Unfortunately, our original wedding date (like many others) was affected by COVID-19. However, instead of stressing about how this would change our plans, Nancy asked to set up time to talk about our options. She immediately put our minds at ease and helped us reschedule a new date. No pressure or questions asked. We had many other friends who planned to get married in the summer of 2020 and did not have this same experience with their venues. We knew we were in good hands!Fast forward to our new date in June 2021 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Nancy and her team were phenomenal to work with from start to finish. In addition to answering all of my questions in the months leading up to our reception, Nancy also communicated and coordinated with many of our vendors to make the day run smoothly. Our reception turned out more beautiful and better than I could have ever imagined! When Nancy brought my mom and I into the ballroom before the dinner started, it literally took my breath away. The MGC team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our guests raved about the food, friendly staff and beautiful indoor and outdoor space.If you're looking for an elegant, fun and beautiful space to host your wedding (with a team you can trust), the Minneapolis Golf Club is the venue for you! Thank you Nancy, Natalie and the MGC team a million times over - you are the best of the best!

I cannot say enough good things about the Minneapolis Golf Club after getting married there on June 5th. From the beginning, Nancy and her team were so easy to work with. Their pricing is simple and transparent (unlike many other golf club venues we toured), and Nancy immediately puts you at ease for the big day. We were a 2020 Covid wedding that postponed until 2021. Nancy and team were so flexible and accommodating when we needed to change dates and honored all of our original pricing estimates. Nancy remained extremely responsive as the situation and restrictions were ever-evolving. Our actual wedding day went off without a hitch, and our guests were extremely complimentary of the food, venue, and service thanks to Nancy and team. To any engaged couples looking for the perfect, timeless wedding venue with delicious food and excellent service, book the MGC ASAP. You will not regret it!!

We had our wedding at the Minneapolis Golf Club on 11/14/20 and it was the most amazing experience! With the pandemic and changing regulations we were a little apprehensive on how the day would go but it turned out amazing! The staff at MGC made sure everything went smoothly and had lots of COVID plans in place so we felt very safe. Nancy and Magie made sure the day went off without a hitch. We received so many compliments on the venue, food and atmosphere. With snow on the ground the photos looked amazing! I would recommend the MGC to any bride looking for a venue in the Twin Cities.

Minneapolis Golf Club was the best venue we could have ever imagined for our big day! Nancy and her staff are so easy to work with and they all know so much about event planning. Having their help made wedding planning so much easier. We were able to stay on budget and we had everything we wanted. The venue didn't have any hidden costs or fees, making budgeting seamless. Literally everything was perfect - the food, the natural beauty of the ballroom and other spaces, the bridal party suite, the staff and so much more. Also this was a COVID wedding and Nancy and her staff were very accommodating with everything and helped us make sure we were still following all the guidelines put in place to keep everyone safe. I wish I could relive the day a million times over because it was so perfect.

We really felt great about choosing the gold club because we felt Nancy was honest about costs and we never had any hidden fees or charges. We stayed in our budget and honestly it felt like a fairy tale. Our guests had great things to say about the food and the venue. We couldn’t be happier about having our wedding here. It was a dream!

Nancy and her staff were by far some of the most profesional vendors we worked with for our special day. Everyone was very nice, attentive, accommodating, and worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly. They helped us with ideas during the planning process, and were mindful of our budget along the way. Our guests still rave about the food and the venue! We cannot say enough great things about the Minneapolis Golf Club!

The moment we walked in to the Minneapolis Golf Club, we knew it was the place for us, Everything inside and outside was absolutely stunning! Nancy was very helpful and easy to work with, she helped us with even all the little details, such as outside vendor communication and giving us tips and information on making our wedding perfect! communication and coordination throughout our wedding was on point and the entire staff was so kind. Not a lot of decoration is needed because the building says it all. The food (Italian buffet with walleye) was absolutely delicious. We loved the Minneapolis Golf Club for our wedding reception! Nancy was so easy to work with, and the staff day-of were very accommodating and made our day so easy for us. The food was delicious (Italian buffet) and their setup outside of the reception hall made it so efficient for guests to get their food. It was great having almost the entire clubhouse to ourselves - it never felt too crowded when people were dancing, sitting, and mingling after dinner. It's also beautiful inside and out so we needed very minimal decorations. Overall, we were so happy with our choice and our guests had nothing but good things to say all night about the venue and food. We would absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding reception.

We cannot say enough about the Minneapolis Golf Club!! The day was so amazing and working with Nancy was a joy! She was very organized and had every detail down. She gave her honest opinion, but we never felt pressured to pick certain things. All the staff were very friendly and helpful on the day. Our guests loved the champagne greeting and all our food was amazing (Petite filet and Tuscan chicken)! They were also very accommodating with different dietary needs. It is a gorgeous venue and I highly recommend MGC!!

If you are a bride in search of a classic, elegant wedding venue at a reasonable price-point, look no further than the Minneapolis Golf Club. The MGC staff is experienced and detail-oriented. Our guests were thrilled with the food (the Chicken Wellington and Walleye were both awesome)! The ballroom is at once spacious and intimate. We appreciated the MGC's \"all inclusive\" approach (no silly cake-cutting fees, etc). Definitely take a look!

BEST. DECISION. EVER. We found the Minneapolis Golf Club through a friend of a friend referral. Boy, are we glad we did! We can't say enough amazing things about MCG! Their staff is incredible, the food is wonderful, and the space is beautiful. We've received a lot of positive feedback from our guests about the food and the gorgeous club. After seeing other venues online that cost an ungodly amount of money just to rent the room, we were so pleasantly surprised by MGC's very modest room rental fee and food and beverage minimum. Especially because it's a stunning banquet hall and the food is amazing. And not to mention, Nancy Johnson (the Director of Events) and the whole catering staff are just wonderful and easy to work with. The day of coordinator, Dan, was great and ensured the day ran smoothly.This was the easiest part of wedding planning because of their team.Cherry on top: Nancy's communication is incredible. She is excellent at communicating with couples so you're never in the dark (example: she was going to be out of town for a week, and took the time to send a letter to all of her couples well in advance letting us know and reassuring us that we would hear back promptly upon her return.) Have your reception here. You'll be so glad you did!

We had our ceremony at the Minneapolis Golf Club on May 18, 2019 and I can’t rave about this venue enough. This was the first place that we toured and from the moment we walked in, we knew this had to be our venue. Nancy made us feel so welcomed and at ease. My parents were from out of state and met Nancy for the first time at the food tasting. After the tasting, my parents commented that this was the first time they felt comfortable having the wedding in another state because of how professional and prepared Nancy was. When it came to the wedding day, it was nothing short of a fairytale wedding. Nancy and her staff had the venue looking absolutely amazing! All night, I kept getting compliments from my guests about how beautiful the venue was (keep in mind, I only brought in a few flowers for decoration), how nice the staff were, and how amazing the food was. I genuinely didn’t have to think about a thing the day of my wedding because the staff was so prepared and took care of everything. If I were to do it again, 10 times over I would select the Minneapolis Golf Club as my venue.

Minneapolis Golf Club absolutely knocked our recent wedding out of the park! Seriously, we couldn't believe how well everything went - it was a magical evening and we credit Minneapolis Golf Club with a lot of the reasons it went so well. First off - Nancy. She is the event coordinator at Minneapolis Golf Club and she is a true professional. She communicated clearly and was willing to work with us on everything. She provided excellent feedback and ideas to us, working to make sure everything was coordinated and setup. It felt almost like she was a mini Wedding planner for us, it was amazing. The meet-up a couple days before the reception really went smoothly and helped to keep both of us calm and collected that everything was in good hands.Food - MGC did a great job with the food. We did the filet and the Tarragon Chicken and they were both spectacular! Not to mention the delicious appetizers that were served to our guests via butlers. The social hour was a hit with the delicious apps and the wine station (plus bar).Timing and Service - Excellent service, everything moved very smoothly from course to course. The staff was well-dressed and very polite, making sure to keep everyone fed and keep wine poured. They also did a good job keeping an eye out to make sure no one was over-imbibing. They were also very helpful in directing traffic and helping some of our more elderly guests to each location. The venue itself was beautiful. The room for the social hour was very well organized and made for great times to chat and catch up with everyone. The banquet hall itself was also beautiful - well lit, clean, and elegant. We had about 160 people and the room felt spacious. The dance floor was in a great location and as night fell, the patio outside was lit with pretty string lights and the golf club had gas heaters outside for anyone looking to take a small break from dancing. The pictures outside are great, it has a really cool old-school golf club feeling with the covered entrance, foyer, and pillars in front. The rear side is also a great place for photos - we are so happy with how they turned out. As another small note, there is a bridal suite on the 2nd floor that was incredibly convenient to use - it was large and had a women's bathroom right across for privacy. It was a good place for the bridal group to catch a breath and store anything that might be needed through the night. We would highly recommend MGC to anyone looking to have an AWESOME reception. We only can hope we get to attend more weddings at this cool venue.

My husband and I chose Minneapolis Golf Club shortly after we were engaged. We looked at three other golf courses and knew Minneapolis Golf Club was the best based on the items we were looking for in a venue. Some of our must haves were a venue that included highly rated in-house catering (check), a space for ceremony and reception with a view (check), a large space for bridal party to get ready in (check) and a beautiful landscape for outdoor pictures (check). From the start, Nancy, the event coordinator was quick to respond to our inquiries and requests. We toured the venue during the off-season (February) and had our wedding on October 19th, 2018. MGC is a charming, elegant, romantic setting. It was cozy, welcoming and just hands-down beautiful - no matter what time of year! There were a few things my husband and I wanted changed or do differently than what MGC typically does, and Nancy was always supportive and accommodating of our wishes. There was one hiccup (on our end) of a family member that was trying to get information on our wedding that we were not comfortable with. Nancy handled the situation in a professional, calm and respectful manner. I was so thankful for her support and reassurance that we were her clients and she will do what we need for our day. Our tasting with Nancy was laid back and fun! We walked through all the details and my husband and I knew we were in good hands. Nancy really knows what she is talking about! Oh, and the food and wine were out of this world good!! Our final walk through the week of our wedding was nothing different. Nancy was able to answer all our questions and calm our nerves; it felt like we were working with a friend! All the waiting staff were also accommodating, respectful and made sure we had what we needed when we were on the MGC grounds. Where MGC truly shinned was on our wedding day. We truly felt like royalty on our day. Crystal, our day-of personal waitress was energetic, positive and attentive. She checked in while we were getting ready and made sure everyone in the room had what they needed/wanted. I was calm throughout the day, as my personal attendant was in communication with Nancy making sure all the décor and vendors were set up and ready to go. My PA told my Nancy had everything in control and there was nothing to worry about. After my husband and I walked down the aisle, Nancy was there greeting us with two glasses of champagne to congratulate us! Fun fact – it was her anniversary that day too! It was a small gesture that had big impact on us. Our photographers and videographer were able to take our pictures on the golf course, the picture-perfect grounds made for amazing backdrops for our photos. The evening went on without a hitch and all our guests continued to say how fantastic the food, drinks, service and venue were; we couldn’t agree more!While there was a slight mis-communication about our late-night snack, Nancy was very professional and communicated with us about the situation. If this was the only issue that happened on our wedding day – I’ll take it! After our wedding, we received our final bill and the estimates Nancy had were nearly spot on! She is amazing. As my husband and I look back on our wedding day, we would choose Minneapolis Golf Club again – 100%! We are highly impressed with their service, catering and willingness to accommodate to ensure our wedding was unique and personalized. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and we have MGC to thank for that. Must-haves about this venue: Champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, gas lamps on veranda, and Nancy & Crystal!

Beautiful!!! We looked at multiple locations and Mlps Golf Club won us over. We knew upon walking into the bright, unique, and historic venue that it was the one for us. Nancy and her staff worked closely with us in our planning. Nancy was always prompt in her responses to questions and she seemed to always go above and beyond. She was born to do her job and it shows. Our wedding was beautiful and people are still talking about it. People raved about the food and I have to agree it was amazing! Wait staff were polite and courteous. Everyone let us have our day and allowed us to feel at home in the club. They weren't intrusive, more of a steady presence if we needed them. If you are in question pick this venue you can't go wrong!

Minneapolis Golf Club was the perfect venue to host our wedding reception. Nancy was AMAZING to work with! Her team was also amazing! The day of, Dan came up and kept asking if he could get myself or my husband anything, great service!!! There also was a mishap with the keg but Nancy took care of it and I was informed within 10 minutes of walking in the door. It was not a big deal but being told that, made myself feel better! The food was absolutely amazing!!! We were told by many guests that dinner was delicious, and the portions were huge! I LOVED that the venue has a separate area for social hour, so we could check everything out the ballroom before guests sat down. It was a nice feeling knowing we could change something quick before all our guests saw. MGC is beautiful and it is also very affordable! My husband and I shopped around and looked at over 12 venues! We had close to the max number of people and it still did not feel squished, lots of room! The large windows are beautiful and make for fabulous pictures on the dance floor! I am so excited to get the rest of my wedding photos from the venue and out on the golf course! The course in beautiful and being able to take some pictures out there, is an awesome perk! Cannot say enough good things about MGC and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the Minneapolis Golf Club! The building is so charming and has the perfect layout to host a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. From our first tour to the day of our wedding we were continuously blown away by the incredible staff. Nancy is outstanding to work with and a true expert! She had so many helpful suggestions and her impeccable organization truly made our day perfect! We were also so impressed with the delicious food and got lots of compliments on how good it was! My husband and I fell in love with the Minneapolis Golf Club's elegant appearance and historic charm on our first visit and we both knew this is where we wanted to hold our wedding reception. The staff at the club were all very kind, well-mannered, and efficient. Nancy was absolutely professional, honest and provided us with information and advice to help make our wedding day flawless. The night of our wedding went seamlessly besides one issue, but the social hour, dinner, and reception were amazing. The bartenders, servers, and support staff kept things moving smoothly and the chefs prepared the most delicious meal. We received so much feedback from our family and friends praising the food, venue and the whole experience at the club. The only issue that took place on our wedding night was we were told by Nancy we could use the golf cart to go out and take bride/groom photos. When we asked for a golf cart the wedding manager (Nancy was out of town) that night told us the golf carts were closed for the year. Now, this was not an issue until we came back the next day to get a few things and saw people out on the course using golf carts. We still got amazing shots but being lied to was upsetting. Over all the Minneapolis Golf Club is an amazing venue and I highly recommend it to any couple. Nancy made all our choices a lot easier and helped make our day remarkable!

I first need to mention that Nancy was wonderful to work with. She has great attention to detail, and my wife and her mom were so happy to work with her and her team. Everything was so easy for us, and Nancy played a HUGE role in that. For that alone, we would recommend this place!The venue itself was absolutely perfect. It’s elegant but not over the top. The lounge area is very warm and welcoming. We barely used any decorations because their reception hall is already so beautiful. The food and appetizers were really good, and not just wedding food good, like “we were eating at a nice restaurant” good! They also give you a lot of food so your guests will be happy and full! The bartenders and service staff were professional, and the food came out exactly when they said it would. Also, my wife and I got great photos on the beautiful golf course. We had a fall wedding and the trees were turning colors. Combine that with the very green course and the scenic pond, and you are left with stunning views. It’s not just us that thought this place was great. We received many compliments from our guests during and after our wedding about this venue. I know I’m probably missing some other details that may be helpful, as the day goes by so quickly, but just know that literally everything went so smoothly! We were so happy with this place. We did lots of shopping around, and the price was very reasonable compared to other venues in the Twin Cities area. Before you make any final decision on your venue, you have to give MGC a call. Nancy and the MGC team will really help to make your day as close to perfect as possible!My wife and I cannot recommend this place enough!

My husband and I fell in love with the Minneapolis Golf Club's elegant appearance and historic charm on our very first visit, and are so happy that we got married here on the last weekend of September 2018. The staff at the club were all very kind, courteous, and efficient. Nancy was an absolute professional and a true life saver! Her mastery of event planning and organization was clear from the first day we met her and saw the venue. Nancy provided us with information and advice throughout the planning process to make our wedding day perfect. The wedding event booklet she provided is a resource that we referred to often leading up to the wedding. We want to say a huge thank you to the one-of-a-kind Crystal for keeping the Bride, wedding party, and family comfortable before the ceremony. She made us all feel relaxed and at home at the club, knowing that she was on top of anything we needed. At the social hour, dinner, and reception, the professional bartenders, servers, and support staff kept things moving smoothly and the chefs prepared such a delicious meal. In the past two weeks we've heard our family and friends praising the venue and sharing how lovely the whole experience was at the club. For those lucky couples searching for a venue this is one that you just can't skip!

Minneapolis Golf Club truly was the best ever! We instantly connected with Nancy on our initial meeting and knew we were in good hands. Her and her team completely delivered from prep meetings to random questions via email to the entire execution of our day. We were planning the wedding from out of town, so MGC was the perfect choice because they handle catering, day-of coordination, etc. The cost is extremely affordable, especially when we compared to other venues near downtown Minneapolis. They send tons of helpful materials to prepare for the day and help us stay on schedule. The tasting was delicious, and the food delivered during the wedding as well. Our guests raved about the food including appetizers during cocktail hour (cheese curds, scallops, spanakopita) and dinner (salmon/petit filet). Molly, the on-site manager for the wedding, kept the whole show running smoothly. The entire staff was cordial and accommodating. We got great feedback from guests on how awesome the bar tenders were and how impeccable the service was. Our wedding was a dream, and the team at MGC played a huge part in that.

I do not have enough good things to say about the Minneapolis Golf Club! We had our wedding ceremony at a church but held our reception at MGCb. From the first time we visited we were in awe of the charm of the Golf Club and how beautiful it was without any decorations. Not only was it beautiful, it was very reasonable compared to many other venues we looked at. The rental charge for the space was far lower than any other venue we toured and there were no extra charges or fees, which was amazing as wedding costs add up quickly. Nancy, the wedding coordinator at MGC, was SO incredibly nice and helpful. She was quick to respond to emails and always happy to answer any and all questions I had. The staff at MGC was simply incredible the night of our wedding! They kept things running exactly according to schedule and allowed us to just have fun and enjoy the night without worrying about any logistics. We went with an Italian Buffet for dinner and got so many comments from our guests how amazing the food was. The bar staff was great and super friendly and accommodating to our guests all night. The charge for food and alcohol was also a lot less than we found at other venues, which was an added plus. MGC even let us store flowers and some decorations overnight the night of our wedding so we didn't have to haul it all out immediately after the reception ended. I would recommend this venue to everyone! We can't thank MGC enough - it truly was the wedding of our dreams!

The Minneapolis Golf club was an incredible reception venue that went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding day (August 4, 2017). The decor was beautifully placed with every detail in order, the staff was more than kind and our guests RAVED about our wedding for months afterwards. We recommend it to everyone we know who is planning a wedding, and especially with Nancy Johnson as our wedding coordinator - she really helped us plan and pull off the wedding reception of our dreams. Thank you to the MGC for our incredible day!!! Would recommend 10/10 to everyone for location, staff, food, venue decor and space, etc. Thank you endlessly! My husband and I had a wonderful experience with MGC! Nancy was very professional and easy to work with. She has a ton of wedding planning insight that made our end of the planning process so much smoother! Molly is also amazing! The power went out during our dance because of a neighborhood outage. Molly and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to keep our dance going! They found wireless speakers for the DJ and used their uplighting to light the bathrooms. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue! Our guests raved about the beauty of the space and how much fun they had overall. We highly recommend MGC!

Our wedding at the Minneapolis Golf Club in May of 2018 was exactly what I had always hoped for. As someone who was dreading planning a big wedding, I was very lucky to have found MCG and Nancy as they made the experience easy and enjoyable. First, you’re not going to find someone as knowledgeable, professional, and flexible as Nancy, the catering director and wedding advisor extraordinaire at MCG. Nancy does a great job at making all of the options and decisions very clear and concise. We knew from the beginning exactly what to expect at all points of the timeline and when decisions would be needed. When we were uncertain or asked for her advice, she would confidently give us her opinion, but ultimately let us make all of our own decisions. She was very responsive to questions and accommodating to our schedules when we needed to visit the club. She is also insanely accurate when budgeting the food and beverage costs for the wedding. Nancy, Molly, and their whole team was always professional, smiling, and provided nothing but the best customer service every time we visited. They were extremely gracious with our vendors, allowing ample time for them to see the space, come in and drop off day-of items, etc.Secondly, the space at MCG is absolutely gorgeous. We used minimal décor because the rooms were just so beautiful, they didn’t need much more! The ballroom was the perfect size for our group and the two rooms used for the social hour were full of natural light and warmth. All of it overlooks the back of the golf course, so it’s just a gorgeous backdrop.Last, the food. Seriously the food. This is not your run of the mill banquet food. It’s incredible that they are able to maintain such a high quality when serving so many people. My husband and I both commented that it was definitely the best wedding food we’d ever had, but it would be great even for a restaurant! People raved about the braised beef short rib as well as the brat and cheese curd appetizers. The timing was great for 200 people.There were several other little things which made MCG the perfect choice for us as well. It really is a one-stop shop. They provide all the linens, table décor options, food prepared in-house at the restaurant, cake cutting, bartending, etc. The fact that they cover all of these services saves so much time and headaches trying to find and coordinate all of your own vendors! Leading up to the wedding, we were able to focus on the little details that were really important to us. Our wedding guests stayed at the Marriott West, which is about a mile from the golf club, providing a very easy commute for the guests in the rented shuttle. Some things to keep in mind- If you have a lot of your own décor and personal items, make sure you designate several people to remove these at the end of the night so you don’t have to worry about it. Also, when you go in for your food tasting, live it up! Going into it, we had our minds pretty made up, but ultimately wish we would’ve tried a few more entrees at the tasting as we ended up going with completely different options. MCG puts on such a beautiful tasting, it’s honestly more like a nice night out to dinner. So, enjoy! Honestly, it was a joy to work with Nancy, Molly, and the team at MCG and we wish we could go back and do it all again! While wedding planning seemed stressful at the beginning, it ended up being a great experience at MCG, so enjoy every meeting and decision along the way 😊

Our guests absolutely raved about our wedding & told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to! It meant so much to us that everyone had such an unforgettable time, & we can’t thank everyone at MGC enough.The venue fit our guests perfectly, & you have an onsite coordinator & staff for the day of & throughout planning. The food preparation & presentation are great, & the stunning venue & golf course gives a beautiful setting without needing much additional decoration.Nancy is the best wedding coordinator in the business. She was so helpful throughout the entire planning process, provided a wonderful list of vendors. Her recommendations were spot on when it came to meal planning & decorations. Her attention to detail, her follow up with vendors, & her terrific staff assured us that everything would run smoothly on the big day. Nancy’s expertise & her responsiveness made the weeks leading up to the wedding worry free. It was amazing to see how her staff transformed the ballroom from a ceremony setting to a dinner reception in under two hours, & all the while hosting a beautiful cocktail hour for our guests in the adjacent Fireside room. The whole day went perfectly, & we couldn't have been happier.The food was absolutely amazing. I am often disappointed with “banquet” food. Not at MGC! We received so many compliments about the dinner from our guests. For the cocktail hour we offered: Shrimp Cocktail, Tuna Lavosh, Coconut Chicken, Scotch Eggs, Caprese Bites. For dinner, we offered our guests a choice of filet or walleye. The steaks were cooked to perfection & absolutely delicious. The walleye was a great option for our out of towners to get a taste of MN. It was prepared perfectly, not overly breaded, & crispy just the way it should be. The presentation of each course, & the service was amazing! We offered late night snacks with a MN State Fair theme, & they were a hit. Mini corn dogs, cheese curds, mini donuts, & pizza to top it off. Everyone loved the snacks & got another taste of MN.We had an early June wedding & we were so lucky to have a perfect day. The golf course was green, flowers were blooming, & we were able to take pictures in many settings around the grounds which gave us many beautiful photos to capture the day. The girls & I were able to use a large room upstairs to get ready together before the ceremony. There was plenty of room to have our hair & makeup done, & we kept our personal items there throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch, & mimosas were catered in, which made preparations relaxing!The ceremony was in the ballroom, & we used mostly flowers & greenery to decorate. The ballroom is so beautiful, you don't need much else. Just outside the ballroom we used pictures, a guestbook, & several flower arrangements & had placed small flower bouquets & pictures in the Fireside room for cocktail hour. Decorations that you bring in yourself (not from vendor), need to be set up yourself, so make sure to have some friends/family available to help. We got a sneak peek of the reception/ballroom before they let everyone in for dinner, & I was in awe. Between the MGC staff & my vendors, they were able to create my vision & give me the most beautiful dinner reception I had ever seen. We were so happy with the venue we chose & wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day!

My Fiancé and I had our wedding reception at The Minneapolis Golf Club this past November. I don’t even know where to start on how much I love this venue and the people who run it! From the first time we came in, to the reception, the staff was hospitable, prepared, professional, and kind. They truly made our vision for our day come to life. In the months following our wedding I have continued to hear stories from our guests and vendors of the big and little ways this venue went above and beyond. Each time I went in for a tour, planning, or tasting I left feeling at ease about the day and all the planning. They would give great recommendations on how to schedule the night, what to offer as far as food and drinks go, how to arrange the seating chart, and also gave great vendor recommendations (I used every single one of their recommended vendors and was so happy with them). In addition to doing a great job and running everything smoothly, the cost estimates were very accurate, there were no hidden fees, we knew exactly what we were getting. The central location was also a huge bonus, guests were able to find it easily, have accessible parking or drop off, and easily able to Uber if they would like (also nearby west-end and hotels making it a great experience for out of town guests). I cannot recommend this venue enough to couples seeking a great venue for their special day!

The Minneapolis Golf Club and the \"oz behind the curtain\" Nancy (the wedding coordinator) are AMAZING. They thought of all of the details to make our day so perfectly effortless. From the first tour and meeting with Nancy to the last walk-through, we knew we would be in great hands throughout the entire process. If you are lucky enough to have Nancy as your right-hand gal and the beautiful MGC as your backdrop for your wedding, I guarantee you will think back on your big day with so much Joy (and peace!) because they do all of the heavy-lifting. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, the space was magical...and it was the perfect place to celebrate the start of our life as Mr. & Mrs!

We can't even begin to express how great our wedding day was at the Minneapolis Golf Club. The whole process from booking the venue last fall, to the day of events; was all very well organized and relatively stress-free. The planning structure that the staff has organized keeps you on track and tells you exactly what you need to have completed along the way. Leading up to the big day, the staff were quick to respond to any questions and were flexible and accommodating with any changes we had. We received many compliments on how great the food was and how courteous the staff were the whole night. We appreciated how the event manager communicated with us during the reception and kept us informed of everything that we needed to know along the way.Overall, my husband and I would highly recommend the Minneapolis Golf Club and were so thrilled with how amazing our reception was!!

We had our wedding reception here in September 2017! MGC is seriously the best venue and worth every penny! We love the historic feel of the golf club. We had about 155 people at our wedding and the space was perfect! I love the set up in the ballroom. Our guests were on the dance floor all night. Nancy and her staff are so amazing at their jobs. Even our guests agree! The food was delicious, we had the filet mignon and crispy tuscan chicken. Everything went so smooth and it made our day so perfect. Thank you MGC!!!

I was so happy with how everything went on our wedding day. Our guests raved about the food and event space. Working with Nancy was also wonderful. She always answered my emails promptly and was very helpful. I am so happy we had our reception here and I can't thank Nancy and her staff enough! You guys do an amazing job! My only suggestions would be fans or something for the dance floor and the option to clean up the next day. But neither of these things were big deals, and maybe we were all just dancing too much :)

We held our reception at the MGC and I can't say enough how wonderful it was! Our wedding was almost a month ago today, and here are the things we thought were the major points to highlight about being at this gorgeous space:1)\tHaving an on-site coordinator is clutch. Nancy and her team made sure that we knew exactly how our tables would be laid out, advised on how many people comfortably can fit at each table, allowed us to drop our décor off early, and were always available for questions during the planning process and the day of. We didn’t have to worry about a thing!2)\tHaving an on-site coordinator is great, but having one who knows this business like the back of her hand is pricesless. After we gave Nancy our estimated headcount, she gave us a ratio of how many beef vs. chicken plates were likely, how much beer and wine our friends and family would consume, and the right amount of appetizers... after it was all said and done, for our wedding of 200 people, she was $154 off! My husband and I are still stunned at how dead-on she was. We saved the final bill just because we’re nerds who love numbers and we were so impressed by her skills.3)\tThe space is stunning. A piece of advice: try to amplify the vibe of the place, and your look will be elevated beyond your dreams! We’ve seen a few people try to fight the décor, but if you choose colors that compliment the taupe walls, warm lights, and brown chairs, you can really transform it without even having to bring much in. We did gold chargers, lots of greenery, and candles galore and the space was drop dead gorgeous. I cried when I walked into the reception hall and saw it all. In addition to the aesthetic appeal, you get lots of space for your guests, and you will LOVE the food. Which brings me to my next point….4)\t…THE FOOD IS AMAZING. A friend of mine texted me afterward (unprompted) and said \"your wedding food ruined me for all other weddings\". Even at our tasting, we were shocked at how delicious it was and how big the portions were. We chose the stuffed mushroom caps, cheese curd and sausage, caprese, and meatball appetizers. For main dishes, we went with the Tuscan chicken and beef short rib. We received sooo many compliments on it all! The only drawback I would caution about is that it can be a little hard to try to host your entire day here. We originally booked the space because we wanted a location that fit our budget (MGC was actually the most affordable of all of the locations we looked at!) and allowed the day to be hosted all in one location. After planning to do the ceremony there, we ended up changing plans quite late in the game because it was going to be really hard to get quality photographs at the venue with our family and wedding party due to the restrictions on photography. While we knew this going in, my husband and I weren’t going to be able to go onto the golf course until about 3pm because it was a Saturday in summer and a busy golf day. Obviously, with a wedding timeline, 3pm is waaay to late to start portraits, so we ended up booking somewhere else.Overall, I cannot recommend this venue enough for a reception, but would potentially advise somewhere else for ceremony if wedding party / family photography is really important to you. Thanks again to the MGC staff for making our reception absolutely wonderful! ☺

When selecting a wedding venue, the choice becomes numerous small decisions and outside factors all rolled into one huge decision. Is it available on the date we want? Is it big enough? Is it pretty enough? How will the transportation to and from the venue work? How is the food? How is the price? The questions go on and on. However, between you, me, and the internet, the biggest reason we picked the Minneapolis Golf Club as our venue is one that I feel is often overlooked.My wife and I took all of these factors into consideration before choosing to get married at the Minneapolis Golf Club. As soon as we walked through the front doors we knew we liked the style and class of the place. The over 100 year old building exudes a feeling of class and elegance the second you walk in the door. A person could spend hours looking at all of the intricacies within the design of this venue (and it feels like we did). On top of that, the food was spectacular and the size was perfect for our event.All of that being said, after looking at about a dozen different venues, my wife and I were stuck between the Minneapolis Gold Club and one other venue that also met all of our qualifications. The reason we picked the MGC was one that we did not expect, and that reasons name is Nancy Johnson. Nancy is the catering director at MGC and I cannot imagine a person who is a more perfect fit for her job. From the second I first shook Nancy's hand, two things were very apparent. First, that my wife an I both instantly felt a connection with her, and second, that this woman really knew what she was doing. She could instantly answer any questions we had for her (even some of the weird and less common ones). Therefore, after hours of pro and con charts and discussion, my wife and I put all of our marbles in the MGC basket because of Nancy, and we never regretted it for a second. Time after time Nancy went above and beyond what was expected of her to help us get to and through our special day. If ever there was an issue with the planning process (drapery for example), Nancy personally walked us through the problem to make sure we were comfortable with the solution. She truly made everything easier.On the actual day of our wedding, we learned that another thing Nancy shines at is hiring her support staff. While we were lucky enough to have Nancy at our event personally, she can't be everywhere at the same time. That being said, her support staff was never too far away to help with anything that we needed. The few minor bumps that we had to deal with were resolved quickly and seamlessly.All of that being said, our wedding night was as close to perfect as it possibly could have been, and we have Nancy and the Minneapolis Golf Club to thank for that. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone who asks. It truly was an amazing night.-Bryan and Emily

This is a LONG overdue, but much earned review for Nancy and her team and the Minneapolis Golf Club. My husband and I had our reception at the MGC this past summer (7/16/16) and every single detail was thoughtfully considered and beautifully executed. All of our guests raved about the incredible food was and the attentive and polite the staff. They turn the ballroom into the most elegant environment. Every aspect of this place is gorgeous and classy. Nancy was a dream to work with every step of the way by laying out her recommendations and taking our ideas and making them a reality. She took a tremendous amount of stress off of me. If anyone is even remotely considering the Minneapolis Golf Club, please do not hesitate to meet with Nancy and tour the club.

We held our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club this past weekend. We have to say thank you to the staff for making both nights wonderful. First, Nancy is great! We knew from the initial tour and sit down that she was going to be fun to work with. It is clear to see that Nancy has a passion for this. Molly, the manager on duty that weekend, did a fantastic job keeping things organized and running smoothly. The bartenders were friendly and very personable to talk to. The wait staff was diligent about getting food out in a timely fashion. We can't say enough great things about the level of service we received this past weekend. Thank you again, Minneapolis Golf Club, for making our wedding weekend one to remember!

I had my ceremony and reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club on October 29, 2016. From the chandeliers in the foyer to the fireplaces in the cocktail room to the grand ballroom, Sam and I loved the Minneapolis Golf Club in St. Louis Park from the moment we stepped foot through the double doors. At 100 years old, it gives off a classic, historic, elegant, timeless vibe—exactly how I wanted my wedding to feel for our guests. The venue coordinator, Nancy Johnson, and her team were incredible to work with. They answered any and every question I had throughout the planning process, recommended some great vendors, and were constantly offering suggestions to make our big day as special as possible. And the food! Our guests could not stop raving about the appetizers (the cheese curds and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were favorites) and entrées (walleye and filet mignon) we selected at our tasting. Everything came out hot, on time, and perfectly cooked. They also provided mimosas in the morning and deli trays for the gals while getting ready. The day was more perfect than we could have imagined, thanks to this team. When we returned from our honeymoon and realized they had gifted us a certificate to come back for dinner, I nearly broke down in tears remembering how perfect they made our day!

We had our reception here over the summer and unfortunately I would not recommend it to anyone. So many things went wrong that could have and should have been avoided. It's a beautiful place and the course is stunning, but I think future couples should be prepared to deal with what we went through. First, the capacity states 240, but Nancy said 220 would be more comfortable. We had 203 total and it was insanely tight. There was about 2 feet between tables, including the head table (along the windows). No room to breathe or move around! It was awkward and we and our guests felt very cramped. Second issue - we were arriving in a limo after an hour long cocktail service and wanted everyone seated so we could get inside and freshen up before the grand march without being seen by everyone. It was Nancy's idea for her or her assistant to run out to the limo and personally let us know once we were in the clear to come inside unseen. After arriving exactly when we said we would and sitting in the limo for about 25 minutes waiting for everyone to be seated and for them to let us know, we finally had to send a groomsmen inside to see what was going on. Nobody was seated and literally nothing was happening. We were behind schedule, so finally he started forcing people to sit which was NOT his job. Nancy and Paige were nowhere to be seen (Nancy ended up being out of town). It was so tacky and tasteless for us to have to do this ourselves. Third issue, the dance floor. We had a large band performing and they were to set up at the end of the room by the windows overlooking the course. The band needed more space apparently than the staff expected, so they had to set up their equipment on half of the dance floor. Keep in mind this is all happening the morning of, while I'm preparing to get married and am not at all worrying about the reception venue as Nancy and her staff have assured me that all of our plans are nicely in place. We arrive to find that half of the dance floor is covered by the band itself, there's about 6 x20 feet for guests to dance on. It was ridiculous and SO embarrassing. Our party wanted to dance, but most people couldn't fit and had to dance on the carpet instead. When I brought this to their attention while following up after the wedding, I was told I should have approached them to move the dance floor. Really? I told them that they could have moved the dance floor out so the band would not be on it at all and just put tables on the dance floor if necessary (that would later be removed), but apparently that idea didn't come to mind when setting up. Nancy and her team took zero responsibility for our reception setup looking like a joke (besides our flowers from Richfield Florals and Events - those were amazing). Even people who weren't at the wedding have commented on how small the dance floor looks in pictures. The food was decent, not as good as during the tasting, but good enough. Oh yea, our head table was not served anything to drink until AFTER the welcome toast. I expressed all of this to Nancy and was met with denying they did anything wrong. Nancy and her \"team\" made us feel so confident and that everything was under control. We had read great reviews and thought we had made a great choice, but I would not use this venue if I could and do it all over again.

What an amazing day! Our wedding reception was at the Minneapolis Golf Club on July 23, 2016. The wedding theme was more vintage and the building (both inside and out) was a perfect back drop for what we were looking for. From the beginning, Nancy and her team of Molly and Paige, were absolute professionals in planning out and discussing the ideas we had to make our day special. All of the food was exquisite (especially the late night pizza) and I heard so many wonderful compliments from our guests about how beautiful the reception site was. If we ever had any questions or concerns, Nancy was there for us every step of the way to assure us that the question was answered or she would have a solution to the problem. The only sad part was that we couldn't take wedding photos on the golf course due to the rain that fell earlier in the day, but you cannot control the weather on your wedding day and you just need to do the best you can to make it extra special. We we're still able to get photos on the 10th hole and use the beautiful landscaping around the venue as a background. The skies cleared up at the end of the day, so we did get some wonderful sunset photos that I'm sure will turn out amazing. Overall I would highly recommend the Minneapolis Golf Club as a wedding reception site especially if you are looking for a once in a lifetime event for your special day.

We had our wedding at the Minneapolis Golf Club on July 15, 2016. From the first time we looked at the golf club, we had a great feeling about the place and people we would be working with. Throughout the planning process, Nancy Johnson answered every question I had promptly and professionally. The in person meetings we had went wonderfully. I couldn't say more good things about all of the people we were in contact with. Nancy knows her stuff! The prices are definitely fair and are actually much better than most places. We loved knowing how much it would cost and we didn't have to worry about extra charges popping up. On the day of the wedding, everything went according to plan. We used the upstairs room to get ready in. It is so spacious and beautiful. It was perfect for our hairstylists and makeup artists. The staff was so sweet and fun. Everyone was extremely professional. Our pictures turned out great and there were a ton of cool places in front of the building to take pictures. Our guests were blown away by the beauty and uniqueness of a club. It is definitely not a typical golf club and has a different feel that we loved. I loved having my wedding at MGC and would recommend anyone to have their wedding there!

My husband and I recently held our wedding reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club in June of 2016. It was one of the best receptions that I have ever been to and not just because it was my own. The venue is beautiful and Nancy and her team are absolutely amazing! Nancy took care of everything and had suggestions for everything that I had questions on. She is extremely organized, but very flexible. The reception planning process was far less stressful knowing that everything would be taken care of. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful location and wonderful employees that ensure everything runs very smoothly.

We held our reception at the Minneapolis golf course last summer and we could not have asked for a better venue! Almost a year later our guests still talk about how wonderful the food was! Nancy and her team ensured everything ran smoothly leaving us worry free. The guests particularly loved the butler passed hors d'oeuvres and the steak and shrimp entree!

The Minneapolis Golf Club and Nancy Johnson and staff were a pleasure to work with in planning our May 2016 wedding. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. First, the venue is beautiful and hardly needs any decorations (which was great because I was NOT a DIY bride). We got tons of compliments on the venue. The MGC was affordable and had very straightforward pricing - which is huge if you have looked at the pricing at other venues that have many hidden costs. The food was delicious - we had the Pasta Primavera and Wild Rice Cashew Chicken - and we had great service. Molly who works with Nancy is also great! Nancy Johnson answered all my questions in the months leading up to the wedding and had great suggestions for vendors and other tips. She even called and clarified an order with one of my vendors during our final meeting so I didn't have to. I highly recommend the Minnesota Gold Club! They know what they are doing.

We could NOT be happier with how everything turned out for our wedding at the Minneapolis Golf Club. We planned our wedding from Dallas Texas and Nancy was AMAZING the work with, even with the distance. I am naturally a worrier and the day of the wedding things went so smoothly I didn't even have to think about what was going to happen next, they had everything covered! We cannot thank the MPLS Golf Club staff enough for helping make our wedding so wonderful! We received many compliments about the wonderful food (served hot!), staff, and venue. We received a booklet of information after our first visit that included a checklist leading up to the big day - this was so helpful to reference throughout the planning process to make sure we had everything in order. The staff is very responsive, which left little to worry about leading up to our wedding. We highly recommend this venue to others, and will forever remember our amazing reception and experience thanks to this incredible team! From the first time we toured the Minneapolis Golf Club, I knew I wanted this to be my wedding reception venue. This 100 year old golf club had a classic charm and impeccable service. Nancy, the wedding coordinator, was a dream to work with. She kept me calm throughout the entire planning process, even helping with a few creative decisions and vendor recommendations. Many guests complimented me and my husband on the service provided by the golf club staff as well as the appetizers and food served. We were very pleased with how quickly the plated dinner was served. Everything ran very smoothly logistics and time-wise. Molly, a staff member, was attentive to our every need... thank you Molly!!! Nancy and her staff certainly have weddings down to a science.\r\rThank you Minneapolis Golf Club for a wedding we, and our guests, will not soon forget.

Where do we even start? The Minneapolis Golf Club was outstanding for our wedding reception site and made for a perfect venue! You are truly in the best hands with Nancy and her staff. From day one, Nancy is always there to answer any questions and she couldn't have been more responsive with all the questions we had (emails, calls, etc. with random questions that came up throughout the planning). We had a live band, dessert bar and photo booth and the set-up was beyond perfect. Not to mention, the food is so delicious and would recommend the Chicken Wild Rice, especially for a fall wedding.\r\rThe MGC is the real deal and package, especially when it comes down to value and trying to stay within a reasonable budget. Nancy is honest and upfront and will make sure to work with the vision you want to bring to life. There is so much charm and elegance to the MGC, perfect for any wedding. \r\rWe would recommend to anyone!

We held our reception at the Minneapolis Golf Club and couldn't be happier with our decision. Nancy and the staff were great, they were very helpful throughout the whole process. The venue itself is gorgeous, you don't need much for decorations. We received many compliments on the venue and the food. Would highly recommend this venue to others.

Minneapolis Golf Club is a wonderful wedding venue. It is set up great for a cocktail hour and reception. The staff is great. Nancy is very responsive, helpful and understanding of budgets, etc. We got a ton of compliments from our guests. The food was awesome too!

The Minneapolis Golf Club was an absolutely wonderful place to have our wedding ceremony and reception! Nancy was extremely helpful, and a pleasure to work with. On the day of the event (9/5/15) every single detail was perfect, and everything went without a hitch. The staff working the wedding was awesome!! We had multiple people tell us how great the service was. I wouldn't change anything!

Nancy and her team at the Minneapolis Golf Club surpassed every one of our high expectations for our wedding day! The staff was so gracious and attentive, making both us and our guests feel so special. The venue and course is gorgeous and will make for great photo opportunities. And the food was out of this world - our guests were raving! We could not have done it without the amazing coordination and attention to detail that Nancy has - it was the most perfect day in every way. We would highly recommend the MGC to anyone who asks and would give anything to relive our day there over and over again!
