Minnesota Boat Club Reviews
Candace Corso(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-12-2021 This is a great location for a medium size wedding. We had 75 people and it was plenty of space. We were able to do our own decorations and hang garland ourselves with no issues. The venue was awesome to work with and has everything you need. Everyone commented on how unique and perfect the location was for a wedding. It is within walking distance of downtown. Reviewed on 15-12-2021

Audrey Swantz(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-06-2021 We absolutely loved our wedding at the boat club! The views were stunning and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Mintahoe food was great as well. We only had 110 and the space did feel a little tight and the bar was not prepared for a wedding our size. Overall a great time with only a few hiccups. Tiffany Knox(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-06-2019 Pros: the price and location. The cons: strict rules/schedule, unprofessional staff. No one is allowed in the venue until 2pm and guests start arriving at 4:30pm. My mom and sister had a hard time with this because they were in charge of decorating. We ended up having to delegate the task of decorating to a friend, we made it work but it wasn’t an ideal situation. Also, they changed wedding coordinators on us and we had to meet the new coordinator the week of the wedding. It was a bit of a disappointment to be working with someone for so many months, and then work with a total stranger the week of. The new coordinator emailed us the day of the rehearsal stating that they wouldn’t attend, which became an issue since it was raining and no one was at the venue to let us inside. We felt like less of a priority and more like a burden for the new coordinator which was unsettling. The day of the wedding went pretty smoothly. My biggest complaint is that there were way too many chairs put out for the ceremony. It’s kind of embarrassing to show videos and pictures because, it looks like many people didn’t show because of empty rows and people spread out (we had 80 guests btw). I’m not sure if they had chairs out for the wedding happening the day after ours but it looked kind of ridiculous and I personally would have liked to of had chairs out for the amount of people expected. The coordinators could definitely be more professional, but overall it was a good venue and we had a good time. Reviewed on 06-07-2019
Shannon Gustafson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2019 We were recently married at the Minnesota Boat Club in May 2019. With a guest count of 90, this space was perfect. Our photos along the river with the St. Paul skyline turned out beautiful. Guests enjoyed spending time out on the veranda overlooking the river during the reception and we were able to take beautiful photos on the bridge as well. The staff were responsive and professional. We highly recomend! Reviewed on 03-07-2019

Kate S(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 We chose Minnesota Boat Club because it is beautiful and a unique venue. We had an outdoor ceremony with the St Paul skyline in the background, which was amazing. This offers so many great photography spots. Overall, our experience was great. Katie, the coordinator, helped navigate the entire process and we didn't have to worry about anything day-of. However, there were some downsides. On the other side of Raspberry Island there is a bandshell and another couple had their ceremony there. We had some of their guests coming into our venue and there were a lot of confused people. Make sure to have a lot of signs of where to go, because it is confusing. Also, you have to go through Mintahoe for catering and decor. The food was good and the decor looked great, but they are pricey and have some hidden costs. Overall, we loved the venue, which was beautiful and really fun to be right on the water. Mintahoe is the catering company for this venue and the food was delicious, we had so many of our guests comment on how good it was. And our coordinator Katie was amazing to work with! Dayna Jeppesen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-06-2017 I would highly recommend Mintahoe and the Minnesota Boat Club to anyone looking for a more intimate event. We ended up with around 100 guests and the space was a perfect fit. We had so many compliments on the food and questions about how we found such a beautiful venue. Everything was very organized down to a timeline of meetings, so it was very easy for us to know when things needed to be done. Katie was our coordinator, and I can’t say enough good things about her! She was very patient and happy to help with all of my last minute questions. I only saw her a few times during our wedding day but I know she was there during setup and stayed through dessert, and she had some very sweet comments for us after our wedding. They made the venue and catering part of planning very easy! Reviewed on 15-08-2017
Rochelle Roche(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2017 We got married at the boat club on 4/22/17. The venue was spectacular and the staff was phenomenal. The whole process was very easy, from meeting with the vendor, to the food tasting, to the day of the wedding. I didn't have to worry about a thing. It's a quaint piece of Minnesota history and my guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the venue and grounds are. Reviewed on 19-05-2017
Caitlin Abrams(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-10-2016 We recently got married at the Minnesota Boat Club at the end of October, and it was just spectacular. We had about 100 guests, which was just perfect for the space. The historic chalet look and the stunning views of downtown St.Paul along the river really won us over when we were deciding on the venue. We also were able to do a discounted pricing with Mintahoe because of our seasonal wedding date, which was great! We chose to get married on the lawn outside in late October, and the venue worked with us to make sure that all the leaves were cleaned up and if it did rain, we had a backup plan in place to be able to move us indoors in front of the fireplace. (We chose not to have a tent that would block the amazing skyline views). You really can't beat the unique look of the space-we needed minimal decor and everyone still told us what a beautiful and dreamy space we chose! The verandas are also a great space for people to go out and mingle during the cocktail hour and after dinner! Mintahoe is also the caterer at this venue and the food was just fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue to everyone! Reviewed on 15-12-2016
Laura Koerner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-09-2016 What a beautiful venue! Could not have been happier with our choice of the Minnesota Boat Club for our ceremony and reception. Lindsey was nice to work with, very attentive to all my e-mails and there were plenty! Reviewed on 07-09-2016
Kendall Englund(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-01-2016 My husband and I recently had our reception at the Minnesota Boat Club. It was absolutely perfect. We worked with Lindsey at Mintahoe Catering (Mintahoe is the only catering company that works with the MNBC, which quite frankly, made everything much simpler!) Lindsey was incredibly helpful, quick with email responses, informative and organized. The reception itself was amazing. The venue is gorgeous and the food was great. The staff were all friendly and helpful and coordinated well with our other vendors. The MNBC gave us half-off the rental cost too since we got married in the off-season for weddings. This made it incredibly affordable in comparison to other venues of a similar style. Overall it was a pleasure to work with Lindsey at Mintahoe and made for a fantastic reception! Erin Hohenstein(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2015 We had both our ceremony and our reception at the Boat Club and it was perfect. The landscaping and views of the river made it especially beautiful in the fall. I worked with Lindsey who helped us from the very beginning with our vision and our budget and offered various options to keep things reasonable. The outdoor and reception venue needs no decor - it's gorgeous on its own, complete with dragon carvings in the wood beams on the ceiling. Lindsey was our event planner for the night and made sure all our vendors knew where to go and took care of everything. The Boat Club was beautiful, the staff were great, and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. Did I mention it was beautiful? (It is a little hard to find if you're not used to downtown St. Paul, so if you choose this venue, I suggest getting map info to your guests!) Reviewed on 12-11-2015
Kelly Ebert(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-10-2015 We are so incredibly happy that we had our ceremony and reception at the Minnesota Boat Club. The view of the venue is absolutely gorgeous with the mixture of city landscapes in the back yet the view of nature with the venue located on an island on the Mississippi River. We received tons of compliments on the venue, and the verandas are a beautiful place for people to hang out on and get a break from the dancing and festivities.\r\rThe Mintahoe staff was also wonderful to work with! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Lindsey is fantastic to work with and responds to questions/concerns/updates very promptly. I would definitely recommend the boat club to other people to use as their wedding venue - we wouldn't change a thing! Reviewed on 10-11-2015
Laura B(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 I cannot say enough good things about the Minnesota Boat Club and Mintahoe. From the very first visit through to the wedding day, the team at Mintahoe kept everything on track and organized. They really take care of you there and they want you to have the perfect day. \r\rThe Boat Club is absolutely stunning. We had our ceremony outside and the reception upstairs. Our guests loved the two patios, and the weather was so nice we had a cigar bar downstairs outside and everyone loved it. We had 75 guests, and the space felt very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend this space for over 100 guests, as it would feel very cramped. We had 8 reception tables which gave us more than enough room for the dance floor. \r\rThe Boat Club has stunning views of the city, and you really do feel like you're on your own little island. It was a perfect day due to the Boat Club and Mintahoe. Reviewed on 22-10-2015
Caitlin Siefkes(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2015 Overall this was a lovely venue. We had our ceremony outside and then our reception inside. Our guests loved the balconies that overlooked downtown St. Paul and the Mississippi River. Be aware that this is a pretty small space. We had 92 guests and I felt like that was the perfect number for the space. It would have felt crowded with much more than 100 people. Reviewed on 24-08-2015
Julie Janus(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-06-2015 The boat club is BEAUTIFUL. It was the perfect size for our wedding and has such character. So many guests commented on how beautiful it is, how great the view was, etc. I almost want to give it a terrible review just so we can keep this gem to ourselves, but I won't do that. :-) Working with Mintahoe was great and the venue itself is really just fantastic if you're having a smaller wedding. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, thanks to Joy from Mintahoe catering who helped us plan our menu and event. Laura Gerde(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2011 My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at the Minnesota Boat club and loved it. We got married in October when all the leaves were turning, it was a beautiful location. Our wedding had a little over 100 people and this number was perfect for the Boat Club. More could have sat outside for the ceremony but any more than 120 would have felt to like too many upstairs at the reception. Our favorite things about the Boat club were the view over the river and of Downtown St. Paul, being outside on the verandas, and it's unique character and decor that you don't get with a hotel banquet room. We were warned that parking could be tight, but there wasn't a problem. I would recommend putting signs on Wabasha street so guests know where to turn to find it. No complaints about the location at all. I would recommend this location. Reviewed on 02-11-2011
