A West Coast-Inspired Oasis in the Midwest
Mojave East, situated in the village of Newton, OH, is a venue that offers a one-of-a-kind setting for weddings and other special events. Owners Ben and Christina Elsass are a husband-and-wife duo that delights in sharing their experiential space with couples to help make their wedding visions realities. Combining their business knowledge and creativity, they work carefully with to-be-weds to craft unforgettable celebrations that highlight their clientsâ unique personalities and style. Brimming with West Coast energy, this industrial facility features an atmosphere that takes its cues from the peaceful California desert. Combined with the glamor of Palm Springs, Mojave East offers a striking ambience that merges nature with urban components. The venue boasts exposed beam ceilings that are 18 feet high, exposed cinderblock walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows for plenty of natural light. This desert-inspired escape is just 10 miles from downtown Cincinnati and is easily reachable from hotels in the area, providing out-of-town guests with added convenience. With over 6,900 square feet of event space inside the building, Mojave East can host intimate gatherings and larger groups with 200 seated guests. The reception venue features staging areas for weddingsâ different entertainment needs, such as a band, DJ, and dance floor. Guests will marvel at the variety of charming lighting fixtures, including the string lights and mid-century chandeliers. Dimmable track lighting allows you to adjust the ambience as needed to suit your celebrationâs requirements. You may also make use of the outdoor area, which has string and sconce lighting throughout and is ideal for ceremonies or cocktail hours. Pavers and planters can be found all around the space, and highboy tables can be provided. When renting this facility for your wedding reception, youâll have access to round and farm tables, stylish seating, and an expansive two-sided bar. In addition, you can opt to avail of a mobile bar option. Venue rentals may also include set-up consultations, security, cleanup, complimentary parking, an array of bar packages, and more. A venue manager will be on site for your big day to ensure that it runs as smoothly as possible.

I cannot even put into words how thankful we are for Mojave East & their team. From the minute we walked in to tour the venue, my fiance and I immediately had a great feeling. Working with Christina and her team was a dream, and they made sure that our every need was catered to. Our day was absolutely gorgeous and we have Mojave East to thank for playing such a large part in that! Our venue is one of the first vendors we recommend to anyone when reflecting on our wedding planning experience. We can't begin to thank them for how accommodating (truly above & beyond) their team was throughout the entire process from start to finish. We are still to this day getting compliments on how beautiful, well-kept, & detail-oriented our venue was!

My daughter was married here a beautiful Saturday in October. It was so beautiful outside! Christina provides personal care and the entire Mojave staff went above and beyond to made our evening perfect. It flowed seemlessly and they took care of all the little details. We chose Mojave after only looking at one other venue just because of how amazing the atmosphere was from our very first tour. Everyone is so friendly and easy to work with. We got compliments from our guests on our venue choice the entire night of our wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

We had a great experience with Mojave East and everyone worked so hard to make our wedding go perfect. Amber worked with us to prep and plan leading up to the wedding and she was very responsive and professional any time I had a question or concern. She was reassuring throughout the planning process and was supportive when we had issues with our DJ. The venue was beautiful and the lighting was perfect in our photos.

Finding the perfect venue isn't always, but after multiple tours around Cincinnati and NKY, we found our perfect place in Mojave! Our first in person tour went off without a hitch and we fell in love with not only the venue, but also the owners, Ben and Christina! Communication was seamless, contracts were precise and easy to follow, their additional offerings were endless, and the space was beautiful and unique. As we were nearing our last couple of months of planning we met our new coordinator, Amber, and we cannot speak more highly of her! Amber was attentive to details, easy to work with, communicative, and really made us feel less stressed and like things would come together and our day would go off without a hitch. Our day of wedding crew were just as amazing between bartending, helping direct guests, and just being a positive presence. Another plus was how the Mojave team worked with us and our vision of a Sunday Garden Party lunch wedding with an earlier timing. We were so happy to be able to find a space that was inclusive, fit our vision, and had an amazing team! Thank you Mojave!

Christina and Ben at Mojave East make everything SO EASY! It was the venue I had my eyes on and once my husband saw it and met the team, he was hooked. From the stunning outdoor ceremony/patio area to the clean white walls and fun lighting/décor, we knew we found our place. It reflects us as a couple and we knew we'd be proud to show it off to our friends and family. The day of we had no worries knowing their team had everything covered! If you want a unique venue that not only has a ton of character but practical features that can accommodate a small or huge wedding, then Mojave East should be at the top of your list. The owners, Christina and Ben, and team members are the picture of professional and personable and truly took the stress almost completely away from wedding planning. The venue is a modern/boho/southwestern dream and with the ability to have an indoor or outdoor ceremony with even a day's notice to a change it over, plenty of parking, a huge list of wonderful caterers who are already familiar with the venue and how to set up seamlessly, flexible and solid bar options that everyone can enjoy, and a ton of add ons (arbors, glassware, lights, etc), you don't want to waste time to book this place!

Christina (our event coordinator) was incredibly responsive, detail oriented, reassuring throughout the entire process, professional, & operates with the utmost respect, responsibility, & integrity. Mojave offers suchs a unique yet simple venue where there are photo ops at every corner, lots of natural sunlight, & the freedom to use the space as you need/want. The recommended vendor list helped us not feel so overwhelmed & offered some comfort in knowing that every vendor was one that they had worked with before & would show up on time to do the job right. The convenience of being able to have the venue & reception in one place & simplicity in that was worth every penny. The entire staff, from our initial tour, to the wedding clean up, were nothing but kind & eager to help in any way we needed it . I truly cannot recommend Mojave East enough.

We got married at this beautiful venue earlier this month, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Christina (the owner) is absolutely AMAZING to work with -- very professional, friendly, responsive, and super open to any ideas to make our wedding unique to us. She provided us with awesome vendor recommendations, as well. From the moment we walked into Mojave East in October of 2020, we knew right then that this place was IT. With the omicron variant being as prominent as it was around the timeline of our wedding, things were incredibly stressful on our end with last-minute guest cancellations and seating changes, but Christina was incredibly reassuring and was so on top of things even as plans changed quickly! On our wedding day, Christina and venue staff were absolutely incredible and our wedding could not have been more perfect -- we received so many compliments from guests, not only on how beautiful/accommodating the venue was, but how attentive and courteous venue and catering staff were. Anyways....we absolutely love Mojave East and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue to any couple! <3

I cannot recommend Mojave East enough. From the moment we set foot inside the beautiful venue and met Christina, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. Christina was so helpful with answering questions, going above and beyond to understand our vision, recommend vendors, and provide suggestions to ensure everything was perfect. I so appreciated how honest, real, and detail-oriented she was. The space is also immaculate. It has everything you need to bring in the best vendors and ensure they have what they need, all while having the perfect decorative touches. Every element of how the space was designed was thought out and intentional. I really could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else!!

Cannot say enough positive things about Mojave East!! From our first tour to our big day, our experience was amazing! Christina (the owner) was incredible to work with and continuously went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we wanted it to be and more. She helped us through the entire process, had impeccable communication skills/always answered questions in a timely manner, was extremely flexible/accommodating, and extremely considerate when thinking about our vision, guests, and experience. The day of, was my worst nightmare coming true (it was supposed to rain and DID rain the whole day) which ruined my plans for an outdoor ceremony and pictures. Christina was so flexible with this decision to change ceremony from outdoor/indoor, assured me and reassured me that everything would still be great, and helped pull off a gorgeous room flip for our fully indoor (unplanned) ceremony/reception. In addition, Mojave in general photographed beautifully with multiple different backdrops for photos, had awesome layout for indoor/outdoor vibes, and has so much flexibility for really making your day/vision unique! We received SO many compliments from guests about how awesome/beautiful the venue and our photos turned out! 100/10 recommend this venue!!!! I am sad that it is over and now want to have any and all future events there lol. Thank you Mojave and Christina for going above and beyond and being the most dreamiest romantic boho venue out there!

The venue itself is also incredibly beautiful and like nothing else in the Cincinnati area. It really felt like a wedding outside of Cincinnati without having to leave the city. The space is beautiful, modern, and fun -- everything we wanted for our wedding vibe! Not only that, but the staff was incredible to work with. Our venue manager was on top of all of our details, was great with communication, and overall was just lovely to work with. I knew that we were in good hands and that helped my stress levels so much! Oh. My. Gosh. This was the first venue we looked at and man did they set the bar so high. We looked at about seven other places and kept thinking about this gorgeous space. The vision that Ben and Christina had was just incredible. They really nailed the industrial, desert, glam look. And they were amazing to work with. I planned the wedding myself and it felt like I had someone to lean on and bounce ideas off of if I needed to. (Someone in the business instead of my fiancĂ©)The last month or so I talked to Christina quite a few times to rearrange things and she was so gracious and helpful. I just appreciate how accommodating they were to requests but also being realistic in expectations. And I feel like I asked for Christinaâs opinion a lot and she really guided me in a great direction. The wedding day ran so smoothly, and so much of it is because of them. They helped make sure the vendors got set up and helped us stay on a timeline. They even helped the groomsmen stay on task to set a few things up last minute. I got there and couldnât believe how gorgeous the wedding turned out. It was truly the most unforgettable day and I was so sad when it was over. Everyone at Mojave East made it so I could relax and enjoy time with friends and family. I couldnât have asked for better people to work with and only hope that our paths cross in some way again one day. Maybe Iâll get to attend a wedding there myself.

Oh. My. Gosh. This was the first venue we looked at and man did they set the bar so high. We looked at about seven other places and kept thinking about this gorgeous space. The vision that Ben and Christina had was just incredible. They really nailed the industrial, desert, glam look. And they were amazing to work with. I planned the wedding myself and it felt like I had someone to lean on and bounce ideas off of if I needed to. (Someone in the business instead of my fiancĂ©)The last month or so I talked to Christina quite a few times to rearrange things and she was so gracious and helpful. I just appreciate how accommodating they were to requests but also being realistic in expectations. And I feel like I asked for Christinaâs opinion a lot and she really guided me in a great direction. The wedding day ran so smoothly, and so much of it is because of them. They helped make sure the vendors got set up and helped us stay on a timeline. They even helped the groomsmen stay on task to set a few things up last minute. I got there and couldnât believe how gorgeous the wedding turned out. It was truly the most unforgettable day and I was so sad when it was over. Everyone at Mojave East made it so I could relax and enjoy time with friends and family. I couldnât have asked for better people to work with and only hope that our paths cross in some way again one day. Maybe Iâll get to attend a wedding there myself.

We committed to have our wedding at Mojave East when it was an empty boat warehouse trusting the owners that they would deliver the venue they painted in our minds. From the first moment I met Christina she was nothing but the most caring and passionate business owner I have ever met. Her and her husband worked SO HARD on this venue and on our special day, I couldn't have asked for more. Christina went above and beyond any expectations and even made arrangements special just to meet our situation which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Christina basically was our wedding planner, our bar tender, our venue staff, day of coordinator and so much more beyond anything we could have expected or asked for! She helped to young and in-love guys who were trying to figure out how to have a wedding and we couldn't have done it without her. Mojave East is an amazing venue owned by amazing people. I wish nothing but the best for them till the end of time! If I could have the wedding again I would change a lot, but the venue and working with Christina would not be one of those things. W.O.W! I could not recommend this venue enough for any couple's special day. Christina (the owner) was truly incredible to work with. As most couples, we booked the venue out pretty far in advance. Throughout the year, Christina checked in frequently with us to see how everything was going and what they could offer assistance with. We had difficulty with another vendor and Christina was extremely helpful to offer us alternate solutions and truly hear us out. Also given the pandemic, we also scaled down the wedding to more of a minimony, but Christina didn't let that change any bit of her professionalism. 2020 has not been great to plan a wedding, but Christina made our planning pretty seamless. Her communication and good-heart were truly a pleasure to work with. She was great working with the other vendors and open communication with them.AND THE SPACE IS BEAUTIFUL! Unlike anything else we've seen in Cincinnati. Our video and photos are absolutely stunning and that's because the space is made with photos in mind. Our photographer LOVED the space and couldn't stop praising how beautiful everything was. AND THE PERKS! The marquee sign, the beautiful tables and chairs are great, the getting-ready room, even to the mural on the entrance wall... Everything about this space was perfect for the look we wanted for our day!Please consider this space for your wedding/reception/party/etc. because you will not regret it. We cannot wait for our large anniversary party there next year and for all of the greatness that comes with the space. Mojave East, thank you for being such a tremendous partner throughout the wild wedding planning of 2020! We loved every moment in the space!

We had a WONDERFUL experience with Mojave East. We hosted a beautiful bridal shower for my sister here and Christina was so accommodating as we live 3 hours away and helped make it absolutely beautiful while making decorating easy from hours away. We had a WONDERFUL experience with Mojave East. We could not have asked for a better wedding venue or better people to handle our big day! We originally toured Mojave East when it was still under construction and missing a roof. We booked our wedding for May 2020 knowing the space would come together beautifully. Then COVID happened. Our wedding was moved to August and Ben and Christina checked in with us every step of the way. They offered plenty of guidance without forcing us into any decisions. They were both kind, professional, supportive, encouraging and just absolutely amazing to work with. Christina ran the show the day of with two other coordinators and we fully trusted her team to provide us with an amazing experience. And the venue was perfect! We barely needed to decorate because it truly speaks for itself. We got married on the patio then had the reception inside and as the night went on, we opened the garage door for a true indoor/outdoor wedding. I really can't say enough good things about this place. And bonus, Ben also has a service called the Photosphere, basically a modern photo booth complete with stills and gifs sent to your phone. If you're looking for a non-traditional, fun, chill place to get married in Cincinnati, Kyle and I HIGHLY recommend!

They helped us with every step of the process including catering in there other vendors that theyâre contracted with. They helped us in laying out where our guests will be seated, all abiding by updated CDC guidelines. They made our process as stress-free as possible, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They even helped with certain things on the big day itself to relieve my bride and me of some stress!The venue itself is beautiful. It was my wifeâs dream venue, and we I think it turned out even better than the specs we were shown when we signed for our date in early 2019. We believe itâs truly a venue unlike any other available in the city. Our guests commented many of the same things. We would 10/10 recommend the venue to anyone else.

I canât even begin to say how wonderful of an experience we had at Mojave East. My husband and I had been looking for a venue for a long time and we both fell in love with the modern retro vibe of Mojave East. We knew it had to be the spot for our wedding. We booked it when it was still under construction and were the first couple to actually get married here. It exceeded every expectation we had. If youâre looking for a unique, fun, colorful wedding that not only will look amazing in your pictures and give you memories to last a lifetime and that your guests will talk about for years to come, this is absolutely the place for you. Every element of this venue is carefully thought out and the details make a big statement. The entire process from the first tour to the day of our wedding was painless and it's all thanks to Christina. Who not only showed us the venue on multiple occasions, but answered all our emails in a timely fashion and had the best suggestions and helped us through every step. Christina is such an amazing person who always had our best interest at heart and is excellent at her job. This place is just naturally beautiful and you can't beat the location, the owners are absolutely amazing and accommodating . They both love the Palm Springs area and the modern industrial vibe. They had been looking in the Cincinnati area and could not find anything that came close till Mojave East had posted their new venue. There was a tremendous amount of work that had to take place with all the remodeling but Ben and Christina came through and it was perfect! From the very beginning they were amazing by keeping us informed and posting all the changes that were taking place. They were also very helpful by answering any questions promptly and finding out exactly what we wanted for the wedding. We received so many compliments from our guests and couldnât have found a more beautiful venue! Thank you so much for making Emma and Davidâs day so special and memorable!

Meet the Mojave East Team
Ben & Christina Elsass (Owner) We are Ben and Christina, a husband and wife team that had a vision to bring a unique gathering place to life based on our own experiences, travels, and our love of hosting celebrations and memorable events. We had the best experience with our wedding venue, and want to pay that forward. Ben (an Ohio native) has also been in the event industry for over 10 years, and runs two successful businesses â Ben Elsass Photography and Photosphere (a gif photo booth). We have blended our business and creative minds to develop an experiential space that we hope give you and your guests a WOW experience!
