I am a wedding planner located in South Florida and our partnerships with venues are hugely important to us for finding and creating amazing moments for couples. That's why when someone goes above and beyond, it's important to shout it from the rooftops!Recently I had a wedding at the Perez Art Museum and I strongly suggested that they do their rehearsal dinner and room block at the Mondrian South Beach Hotel. One meeting with Shannon McKenna and team, and the couple was ready to make this happen! To give you a sense of size, we had a welcome reception for hundred and twenty, a rehearsal dinner for sixty, a farewell brunch for eighty five, and over two hundred room night reservations. That is a LOT of personalities to work with. Shannon (and team) handled it all with grace and style. Little surprise and delights throughout the couples stay, and extra attention to the parents, Maid of Honor, and Best Man. As with any wedding there is always some uncertainty as the big date comes, but Shannon constantly made herself available. But where things got really good is when the family and guests started to check in. There is nothing better to hear than \"everyone here is so nice!\" No matter what I need, or what the question, someone is always right there to help me. WOW WOW WOW Now if it had just been this one wedding, I might not be so passionate about Shannon and this hotel - but it's not. I have had several weddings and events at the Mondrian, and each time - it is exactly the same. Great Location, Great Product, Excellent Food and Beverage, and a team the actually believes in excellence.Standouts - Front Desk: Checking in that many guests in that short amount of time - Amazing Food and Beverage: Chef through busboy - Food was always delicious, fresh, always hot (when appropriate), andI never once saw a guest have to search or look for anything. Space was always clean (on all three events) and on time. AUGH - I wish I could give you even more stars. If you are looking for a place (planner or couple), check these guys out. Congratulations to the entire team - you blew this out of the water! Reviewed on 20-11-2023

What a great experience we had as we had our wedding ceremony and reception here. Shannon who booked everything for us along with Landy who helped with out with our guests that were staying at the hotel did an amazing job. The food was amazing, the room that we had our reception was perfect for our party. The Mondrian did a great job of separating us from the other hotel guests, the cocktail hour, the drinks I can't say enough. I highly recommend this location for your event and for your stay. Hillary Weinberg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-03-2023 Hi fellow brides and grooms! Wow! I just got married at the Mondrian on 3.11.2023 and I had to write a review to share how special this experience was. As I was a destination bride and didn't have a planner until 6 weeks before, I really had to rely on the amazing, Shannon- the event coordinator a lot. She was so warm, informative and excited to help my husband and I every step of the way. The hotel itself is stunning- from the lobby, to the pool, the rooms, the sunsets, the VIEWS, I was constantly in awe of my experience. Do yourself a favor and reach out to Shannon!!! My guest were raving nonstop about their experience at our wedding!!! Reviewed on 14-03-2023
Devon Paliseno(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-11-2019 the venue itself is beautiful for pictures & that's about it . venue is not wedding oriented & they dont bend over backwards or try to accommodate you in the least, even if you pay well. (we spent over 200 a head,) all for spending money if you get what you pay for- but you dont here. they are extremely tit for tat..aside from the miserable planning experience/0 guidance until the last few months (thanks to Olivia there-shes great) it was the most stressful / miserable way to plan your wedding. and forget trying to talk to someone higher up .there is never anyone to speak to or you get routed to their person you are trying to complain about. let me get into the wedding : cocktail hour - as a bride and groom any other venue will make sure you have a plate of every appetizer or at least given SOMETHING . we weren't even offered a DRINK and didn't get a thing from cocktail hour. bizarre. guests also mentioned how barely any food was passed around (embarrassing especially bc we paid so much per head, also only 86 people). the wedding kind of ran itself , the salad was served with no dressing and the food for dinner was HORRID. which is honestly so disappointing bc the actual food at the Mondrian is delicious ! we had room service the night before the wedding and the steak was unreal. the steak served at wedding was cheap , thin and gross...and cold !! even the side portions were SO tiny. we were mortified. when i went to our food tasting the food was reallyyy good, i was so excited - this was opposite. the sea bass was fishy at wedding at the tasting was awesome (we were also told day of wedding they had a new chef) but that shouldnt have to do with the quality of the food especially when you are paying top dollar !! the bar inside the venue is also small, bartender was great but again venue was tit for tat , we paid for premium open bar(highest package) and a guest wanted a coffee martini .. they served grey goose and coffee at my wedding but wouldnt mix it and charged the guest a pot of coffee .. unreal LOL. also for desert my husband and i didn't get ONE desert. we opted out of a wedding cake so we could dance more and got an assortment of deserts instead, they looked nice in pictures but wouldn't know because we weren't given any. never heard of a bride and groom serving themselves on their wedding day ??? morning of the wedding - the staff at hotel had no idea there was even a wedding on , our conference room we were supposed to get ready in wasnt ready and we paid over $200 for two pitchers of sangria (you read that right) and you think wed get some service with that or someone to check in see if we needed anything .. nope..bridesmaids had to keep going to bar, we even paid another $400 for espresso martinis and asked for coffee and the guy that was coming up to help us acted super annoyed. they also don't lock the conference room and one of my bridesmaids had something stolen (she got it back when she confronted the staff) i also saw this in another review here..and its true. also we never got back our table numbers, bridal tote and other personal belongings at the end of the night .. also saw this in another review .. its true. they also charged us an extra $6,000 (which was previously caught) but we were still charged for it. was resolved but not the point & our guests had a lot of issues checking in. a few guests were also overcharged , my understanding is they resolved with hotel after but it still should never of happened !! Nicole Hernandez(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-03-2019 I had our wedding at the Mondrian SB in March, 2019. We were so excited about our special day, it’s a beautiful hotel. We were disappointed on how we were treated though. After the wedding was over the Mondrian staff threw away most of our personal wedding items that we wanted to keep for memories. In addition, our personal items were stolen from a conference room that we were using that was to be locked by security. We had to do our wedding pictures at another part of the hotel because the ‘garden’ that was to be used as part of our signing was unavailable due to hotel construction. We found out about the construction the day of the wedding. Over the past 5 months we have been trying to get in touch with staff and only get a run-around. We have tried to reach both Directors of catering Carlos and Andrea, neither has returned our calls. Bottom line the venue is great but the staff sucks. Reviewed on 14-08-2019
Courtney Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-12-2018 Carlos Velez - dir of catering and conference services at the Shelborne & Mondrian, nailed it. He is up for the challenge and supercedes all expectations. We had our wedding & reception on the Mondrian property. Leading up to and throughout the weekend, Carlos provided a hands on high touch productive approach that got the job done from all angles. He ensured all team leads and members did not miss a beat all weekend. We brought a 100 person group in from NY (tough critics ranging from 30-75 yrs old) and each one of my guests had the best weekend of their life and will not stop talking about the high class service, food, vibe and let's not forget the VIEW. With an unblocked panorama, you get sun all day, breathtaking sunsets and the stars in case you want to soak it up all night. Another major perk is the full service spa which can address most beauty and relaxation needs, as well as the food and beverage - with the on site restaurants and bars indoors and out, along with room service, you never have to leave. If you want to explore you need not go far, with the central location to nearby shopping, groceries, and eateries that are also super fresh and accessible for the daytime and into the late hours. Additionally, the group owns some nightlife properties, which they can help with access to. Whether you want to come down and relax, or interact, you should always consider Carlos Velez's properties and have him as your event lead. He will ensure you and your guests all have the right time and the best time of your lives. Reviewed on 19-12-2018
