I never would've imagined having an outdoor wedding, but when we booked our wedding in Jan 2022 we exclusively were looking for an outdoor venue and Monteverde couldn't have been more perfect. Lisa went above and beyond in making our day so special. She was there for us every step of the way especially on our wedding day - from helping with my bustle to coordinating with our vendors . We wish we could do it all again!

I fell in love with Monteverde the moment I started the tour. Everything from the view of the Hudson River, the amenities, spaces and reception possibilities. Lisa and Mary Ellen were great to work with. Letting me know all my options ad really being apart of the process of making my dream wedding come true. The entire staff at Monteverde worked so hard for us. The food was the delicious. My family and friends can't stop raving about things like the shrimp cocktails, lobster rolls, pigs and blanket and specialty cocktails made to order at the bar. Our reception took place in this massive tent. It came out so beautiful and our brunch the next day was inside the mansion. Overall, I highly recommend this location if you are thinking of getting married. Yes, its one day but it is a day I was never forget!!!

Mary Ellen, Lisa, and Arlene were amazing to work with, and Monteverde was a dream wedding venue. The grounds and the views of the Hudson were absolutely stunning the day of our wedding, and exactly what we were hoping for. They were so professional and on top of everything throughout the entire wedding planning process, and especially on the day of. We're so happy we chose this venue after touring a ton of Hudson Valley/Catskills venues — highly recommend!

Mary Ellen, Lisa, and Arlene were amazing to work with, and Monteverde was a dream wedding venue. The grounds and the views of the Hudson were absolutely stunning the day of our wedding, and exactly what we were hoping for. They were so professional and on top of everything throughout the entire wedding planning process, and especially on the day of. We're so happy we chose this venue after touring a ton of Hudson Valley/Catskills venues — highly recommend!

We loved everything about our wedding at Monteverde! The view there is amazing and really has that wow factor. We wanted an outdoor reception, and their tent is beautiful! The team at Monteverde was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. On our first tour, Mary Ellen was pointing out things and options that we did not even think to ask. They think of every little thing necessary to have an amazing event. If you are planning your event there, definitely leverage the team for their expertise on any and all questions! They have a great set-up in the mansion for the bridal party and family to get ready on the day of - complete with a hair and make-up room for the girls. Our guests were coming from Tarrytown hotels on a shuttle that got lost. We had to delay our ceremony start time, but Mary Ellen kept in constant communication with us making sure that we were aware of any updates and that we were comfortable with the new timeline for the night. We were in great hands! We wish we could do it all again!!

Monteverde at Oldstone was a wonderful place to host our wedding celebration! My husband and I were legally married in 2020 and held our reception here in September of 2021. The staff at Monteverde was very accomodating and truly allowed us to make the space unique to meet my husband and I's wants. Our guests raved about the views of the hudson and how stunning the grounds were as well as the food was delicious. As an FYI for brides out there, the venue/grounds are a blank slate so you can customize the venue to exactly what you're looking for. However that means bringing a lot of what you want yourself (i.e heaters if it's cold, linens, napkins etc.) I wasn't intimdated by this and it was a nice option to make those choices ourselves! The morning of the wedding we were able to get ready in the mansion on the grounds and it was the perfect space for my bridal party to get hair & make up done while the groomsmens got ready in the bar area. Definitely recommend this venue to anyone who has a very specific vision and is looking to invest in your venue :)

Monteverde at Oldstone was just perfect. MaryEllen, Lisa, and Arlene could not have been more helpful leading up to and during our wedding. Their clarity around COVID guidelines as they eased in NYS was even more appreciated. It is also worth mentioning that the Food was AMAZING, and goes without saying that the Venue is GORGEOUS! Our guests still talk about that night. Monteverde absolutely made it an even more special day and we highly recommend.

We could not be happier with our decision to get married at Monteverde at Oldstone. The venue is located on the Hudson River and is the most beautiful backdrop for any wedding. Our guests were blow away when they arrived to the venue. Not only was the venue beautiful but the food was incredible and they had so many options to select from. The staff was really helpful through the entire process and they provided so much support the day of the wedding. Highly recommend choosing Monteverde for your next event.

I was a recent guest at a wedding here, and I was just so impressed. It is tucked away and you'd never know it was here. It looks over an incredible view of the Hudson River with state park all around. The mansion was incredible - high ceilings, everything perfectly appointed - and it was built before the Revolutionary War. I am a history major - why is this not on the state historic registry? We are going to remember that night - the food and the service were all great - they have two massive white tents for outdoor and the mansion for indoors. And the ceremony on the lawn with a backdrop of the river and the state forest.... It was magical. Janet

I cannot say enough good things about Monteverde!! We had our wedding here on September 12, 2021, and it was a spectacular night!! My husband and I are from the city and wanted a wedding venue that was unique, elegant, and magical. This venue is not only stunning beyond belief, with unobstructed views of the Hudson, it is also completely private and secluded, which lends to its upscale vibe. You also get the venue for the whole day, with separate space to get ready, a stunning bridal suite, and a gorgeous premise to take beautiful photos. The staff at Monteverde will blow you away with their professionalism and kindness, with Arlene (the owner), Mary Ellen (director), and Lisa making sure that every detail was discussed and every moment was planned. My guests were beyond impressed and could not stop asking me how I found such a gem. We also needed a kosher caterer, and conveniently Monteverde works exclusively with Foremost, the premier NY kosher caterer. This exclusive partnership allows staff from both to work seamlessly with each other. On top of all that, Monteverde has a handful of suites on-premise that you can book the night of your wedding. We rented out all of the suites the night of our wedding, and I cannot express how relaxed and happy we, along with our close family, felt after a long day. In all honesty, we could not have dreamed of a better wedding venue and people that helped make our dreams a reality. Thank you to the staff of Monteverde from the bottom of our hearts!!

We are so happy that we booked our wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone. We booked our June 2021 date back in early March of 2020, right before the pandemic got really bad in NY. Monteverde is very much by the book and buttoned up and we really appreciated their support through the unknowns. One of the main reasons we booked Monteverde (besides the stunning views!) was that they had lodging on property. We stayed both Friday and Saturday and that totally made the wedding weekend even more amazing since everyone got to have breakfast together and it was so convenient to already be there. In terms of staff, Mary Ellen is very detailed and organized and lovely to work with. Lisa is absolutely amazing, she was actually the one to give us the original tour when we booked the venue and coordinated our wedding day, which went off without a hitch. We also got to know the proprietor Arlene well, as we discussed the latest COVID guidelines often. She’s always just a call away and we really appreciated her support. We had a slightly drizzly morning but the sun started to shine right after our ceremony and multiple people commented it was one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve been to! Thank you team Monteverde!

Monteverde is a dream venue! We worked with the team there for quite some time since we had to postpone our wedding from 2020 and they were so helpful and accommodating every step of the way. Their attention to detail is extraordinary. The venue itself is breathtakingly beautiful and our guests couldn't stop talking about the beautiful scenery, tent and phenomenal food. They have such an expansive menu to choose from and we felt that the food was a true reflection of us as couple, our backgrounds etc. What I loved most is that this isn't the type of venue that your guests see all the time and it made it feel that much more special for all of us.

We had to find a new venue after our original hotel venue shut down, and we are so happy we found this place. The team is a pleasure to work with, incredibly responsive and flexible. There is ample space for bride and groom to get ready, and our guests staying onsite has the most pleasant experience. The tented spaces were absolutely perfect, and my gosh the food was just next level. They provided the best service, from golf carting the wedding party to the ceremony to securing custom Ben and Jerry’s flavors for an ice cream cart to organizing all wedding accessories. We look forward to celebrating future anniversaries at the restaurant just to spend more time at magical Monteverde!

We hosted our daughter and son in law’s wedding here. The venue is beautiful and we loved that they only cater to one couple at a time. Mary Ellen, Lisa and the staff paid attention to every detail. The wedding had to be rescheduled because of the pandemic and the venue was very helpful to us. They offered alternate wedding dates and did not charge any extra. They helped us navigate the restrictions and rules of our state so that we were able to have a safe party. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive.My daughter and son in law stayed at their inn and their room was elegant and beautiful. The beauty of the Hudson was an amazing backdrop for the affair. I definitely will return to their restaurant and inn.

We lucked out by having the most beautiful weather the day of our wedding, so we were able to have the ceremony outside on Monteverde's gorgeous grounds. From top to bottom, the venue, their catering, preparation and service were top notch - Mary Ellen is so organized and made sure my husband, our families and I were well taken care of, and that our vendors were set up for success. Our guests were in awe of the venue and kept asking how we found it, I feel really lucky they had a date available during our August-October time frame! Not surprised the venue is so in demand.

From top to bottom, the venue, their catering, preparation and service were top notch - Mary Ellen is so organized and made sure my husband, our families and I were well taken care of, and that our vendors were set up for success. Our guests were in awe of the venue and kept asking how we found it, I feel really lucky they had a date available during our August-October time frame! Not surprised the venue is so in demand.

This place is AMAZING. The moment I stepped into the venue for the very first time, I knew it was the place. We had the most wonderful experience at Monteverde and we still cannot get over the beauty of this venue! We knew the second we arrived for a tour that this was the perfect place for us. The setting was absolutely incredible and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! The staff at Monteverde were incredibly accommodating and quick to answer any questions that we had throughout our planning process. They worked diligently with our wedding coordinator to ensure that everything we asked for was taken care of. In addition, we loved getting ready in the mansion on wedding morning, especially in the salon-style room. My husband and I had our wedding at Monteverde on 9/21/19 and the day could not have been more perfect! At the beginning of the planning process, I knew I wanted a tented wedding. I wanted blank canvas and something I could make my own. I did not want a typical ballroom with ugly wall paper or hideous rugs. I also knew that I wanted a wedding in the Hudson Valley area. From researching these two must-haves in mind, I stumbled across Monteverde. Monteverde is somewhat of a hidden gem! We first visited in August 2018. We had already reserved a date at another venue, but the minute we stepped onto the grounds, we knew we were going to change our plans. The grounds and the tent are definitely the most impressive part of the venue. Our ceremony was held outside directly overlooking the Hudson River. We could not have asked for better weather and the ceremony went perfectly. The cocktail was then held on a beautiful patio that is connected to the main mansion, also overlooking the river. Great for pictures!!! I didn't really get to enjoy any of the food at cocktail hour because I was too busy saying hello to guests, but everything looked great. The reception was then held in their gorgeous tent. We had white bistro lights strung from the top, and a greenery chandelier. It looked so romantic and whimsical! The good was delicious, and all my guests raved about the filet mignon, in particular. Also, everyone loved the bartenders! They were quick (no lines at the bar) and were not stingy with the alcohol (very important). Everything was executed flawlessly! (Although, candidly, I must add, I had an outside planner). Lastly, the mansion is 100% worth mentioning. While none of the wedding actually took place inside, my bridesmaids and I got ready in the upstairs part of the mansion. It was so nice to be on site prior to the wedding, and not have to worry about transportation. There is salon room (where hair/ makeup was done) and then a living room area where my bridesmaids and I had mimosas and food while getting ready. There is also a balcony off the living room area. The room was bright and airy and perfect for our \"getting ready pictures\" (as opposed to a dark hotel room). All in all, our wedding day was perfect and I cannot thank Monteverde enough. I would 100% recommend this venue !

We had our wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone in September 2019, and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Mary Ellen and her team were extremely accommodating throughout the entire planning process. Mary Ellen listened to every idea I had and gave me honest feedback on whether it was feasible for the venue, but always let me make the final decision. No detail was too small for her, and she did everything she could to make sure our day was perfect. The day of went as smoothly as one could imagine. If there was an issue, the Monteverde team and our coordinators (highly recommend Elite Wedding Planning!) must have dealt with them, because to this day I still don't know about anything that went wrong. The food was also phenomenal - Chef Eric did an incredible job. We loved how the menu was flexible and customizable, too. My fiance and I wanted to pay homage to our different cultures, and Mary Ellen and Eric made it happen. We had people came up to us during the wedding as well as afterwards to tell us that usually they don't expect much from wedding food, but the food at Monteverde was extremely delicious. Multiple people raved about how amazing the milk and cookies were!  Our ceremony was on the lawn, cocktail hour was on the patio, and the reception was in the tent. The tent was so much more beautiful than I ever imagined it could be. The string lights and the candlelight from the tables made the room look and feel so romantic, it was very breathtaking. One decision we were so happy we made was that we had our afterparty inside the mansion. I HIGHLY recommend doing that because we didn't lose momentum, and it was so fun to keep the party going. We also had multiple people tell us that our afterparty was the most fun wedding afterparty they've ever been to. I am so happy we chose Monteverde as our wedding venue. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful setting to get married, and the logistics of the day of were impeccable!

Monteverde at Oldstone was the perfect venue for our September wedding! We had our ceremony on the gorgeous lawn overlooking the Hudson River, cocktail hour on the patio, and our reception in the larger tent. (They have rain options for the ceremony and cocktail hour that also would’ve been perfectly nice.) Our guests couldn’t believe how stunning the grounds were, and the tent was a great size for our 140-person wedding. It had a spacious dance floor and enough room for our 10-piece band. It was especially pretty with strung lights! (Not included - but Monteverde recommended Stortz Lighting which was wonderful to work with and knows the venue well). Our guests also loved the food at both cocktail hour and the reception. Chef Eric was super accommodating of our family’s dietary restrictions.Most importantly, planning with Monteverde was stress-free. They sent over a ton of documents/FAQs from the get go and then they were available via email if any other questions popped up throughout the journey. About 6 weeks before the wedding, we met in person with Mary Ellen and Mary. They were so detail-oriented and seemed truly committed to helping us plan the day of our dreams. They were also flexible and accommodating when we had unique questions or requests. On the day of the wedding, we had two Monteverde coordinators, Mary and Lisa. They made sure that everything went according to the timeline. We didn’t end up hiring a separate coordinator, which was totally fine, but it might have been helpful for issues like our photography timeline and a dress snafu - given that Mary and Lisa were juggling many other things (catering, vendor communications, bus, etc).I highly recommend Monteverde at Oldstone. We toured many venues that felt like wedding factories or “overdone”. This venue feels like a hidden gem on the Hudson and the team made it as easy as possible to plan our special day.

I realized that after attending another friends wedding.One thing we loved is how everything can pretty much happen on-site day of the wedding. The wedding party stayed over in the rooms at Monteverde and we got ready there all day. The Bridal Salon is amazing for hair and makeup. Our stylist said it’s the best she uses. And being able to have the after party there was also great. Lisa is a fantastic day-of coordinator. We were in very good hands, and I had pretty much no worries and no one bothering me as the Bride! They do a great job coordinating with all the vendors too. You definitely don't need a wedding planner with this venue. One thing that was annoying is that their email communications were slightly disorganized - every email is labeled 'Monteverde at Oldstone' no matter what subject line you wrote them with, and they kept taking my husband off of emails. MaryEllen also thought she sent me something 3 times but hadn't. Overall though, amazing wedding at their site.

The service at the reception was awesome and the food was delicious according to our guests (we didn’t eat, and my impression is that the food surpassed our expectations after our tasting). We lucked out with the weather- it was gorgeous - and the venue was perfect for a lovely spring day. It was classy, elegant and yet not stuffy. Our guests felt hosted and loved the views. We would highly recommend it!

Monteverde is the MOST beautiful venue to be married - we had an incredible New York wedding with excellent service. I am the luckiest bride in the world to have gotten married here! Maryellen was helpful with finding me vendors and being quite accommodating the day of the wedding. She and her Mary Lent took amazing care of me, my family and bridesmaids the day of the wedding and it definitely was a huge stress relief every bride needs. I had dozens of guests tell me it was one of the top three wedding venues they had ever been to! I will say that it is extremely important to be read the contract in detail before signing as they have strict exclusions. For us, their alcohol policy was a bit unclear at signing and limiting and we could not bring our own Craft beer as we wanted, and the selections in the house liquor package were very poor which was not what we were initially told. They did however upgrade the house liquor in the end. There was a limit to the amount of candles allowed in the tent (which I found unfair), and we were not allowed to have sparklers or fireworks. In the end, it was the most incredible day of our lives with one of the most elegant venues our families had ever been to.

When researching venues for our wedding, Monteverde checked off all of our boxes. We knew that we wanted a romantic outdoor venue with gorgeous views and a tented reception that could accommodate 300 guests. It was a relief to learn that at Monteverde, the bulk of rentals that are required for an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception were were included! Mary Ellen and the event team made the planning process very straightforward and stress free. Although we had less than a year to plan our wedding, we never felt pressured! Our wedding day arrived and that's when the magic happened! All of our planning and preparation made our dream wedding a reality. Everything from the ambience, the attention to detail and the food was superb! To this day, our guests continue to compliment us on our choice of venue for our wedding!

Monteverde is a beautiful venue with an exquisite view of the Hudson River! They have several rooms available for events, each with it's own unique character. Maryellen, Mary, and Lisa were extremely helpful, and made sure everything ran smoothly for our wedding dinner. The wait staff was excellent, and the food was amazing! They also offer some spectacular rooms upstairs for an overnight stay, so we, and some out-of-town guests didn't have to drive home after the wedding. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

The staff is personable, helpful, courteous and worked with us rather than force any of their ideas on us.Lisa was there and waiting for our arrival the morning of. Her attention to detail was incredible with us and the entire staff keeping us involved and updated at all times. We were so thankful to have her working with us that day.The food was great, however, when served it could have been warmer and the order in which it was served was incorrect. Monteverde is outstanding! The beauty of the surroundings is magnificent (even in April!). The staff was extremely accommodating. MaryEllen, Mary, Ray, Eric, Brian, were all very accommodating prior to our wedding, making sure we knew what to expect. They didn't forget anything - our menu was perfect, and the special signature drink was awesome. The day of the wedding we had two lovely people taking care of our day. Lisa, our person in charge of the day kept everything on schedule from the moment we got there to set up, when guests arrived, the cocktail party and up until we left - very thoughtful and helpful. We had a small and unique late afternoon wedding with the main part of the wedding outdoors with a marvelous cocktail party. Lisa was great to have there with us. Once we moved to the dining room, the head waiter Matt made sure everything went off very smooth. Our food was fabulous (for you foodie types - you will appreciate) and the service was outstanding. I love the restaurant and highly recommend going there to get a flavor for the ambiance, the service, the unique delicious food (award winning chef), and friendly staff. If I was to get married again (LOL!) I would do it there!

I want to start of by saying that our wedding day went off without a hitch- even though it rained, it was a perfect day and the staff at Monteverde did an amazing job in executing the event. It was gorgeous and everyone had the best time.That said, I am giving Monteverde 3 stars based on the wedding coordinator and the planning process leading up to our wedding day. The coordinator did not seem to have her act together- she often repeated questions in emails that were answered in the previous email, never got our names right (at our rehearsal dinner she thought I was a bridesmaid- I was dressed in white) and tried to change the ceremony order to a way that I was not comfortable with. She made a couple of rude comments under her breath when I tried to express how I felt. My in-laws had an even harder time when trying to learn more about the liquor package. She was not forthcoming about any pricing information and took a long time to respond to their questions- so long that it was not settled until the week of the wedding. I want to reiterate that the wedding itself was amazing, the waitstaff and owner, Arlene were fantastic. Were it not for my (and my family member's) endless frustrating with the wedding coordinator, I would have given this review 5 stars, but at $250pp, I do not feel as if we were treated with the respect with deserved.

Bartender of Monteverde's staff was infected with Hep-A while tending bar at our wedding. We were on day 1 of our honeymoon 4 days after our wedding. When we received a message from a FRIEND notifying us of the news that had been on TV.Naturally, we were embarrassed that our wedding exposed our closest friends, family and loved ones to a potentially deadly virus. We were most disappointed that no one from Monteverde had the ethical courtesy to notify us. We spent the first 4 days of our honeymoon attempting to reach all of our guests, to inform them what vaccinations were required from their specific states (over a dozen different states) health departments vaccination requirements. We thought that Monteverde would uphold the prestigious reputation that their expense $$$$ would be justified with professionalism. Instead, we experienced the \"gotchya\" type service from them. After our checks were cashed, they acted as if we were ghosts. Ignoring our phone calls and emails for days while we were on our honeymoon. The lack of professionalism, morality and empathy in Monteverde's reaction to the situation leaves us feeling that they simply don't care about their clients, and only their clients money. If you decide to book your wedding here be warned of being misled into lies and excuses from all Monteverde staff members. Issues we encountered on our wedding day at Monteverde includeNo Air Conditioning in the mansion (broken from a previous wedding and not repaired in time for ours)Monteverde staff arrived lateGrounds not landscaped prior to our arrivalInsufficient power supply in tentRooms locked by staff with guests belongings left in themand again most importantly!Failure to notify any points of contact for our wedding held at Monteverde at Oldstone of the potential risk for Hep-A infection from beverages served by Bartender employed by Monteverde at Oldstone inside the mansion restaurant bar.Do NOT book your wedding here. All of our guests raved about what an amazing time they had and how beautiful the venue was. Beyond the spectacular venue and views, Arlene, Mary Ellen, Mary, and Lisa were all wonderful to work with. They provided us with vendor lists and a checklist of to-dos that made the entire planning process so seamless. On the day of our wedding, both Lisa and Mary were available to ensure the day went smoothly and stayed until the very end of the night after the last guest had left. My fiance and I had made arrangements to look at Monteverde as a potential wedding venue for next fall. Several days before the appointment an article was published notifing the public about a case of hepatitis that was affliated with Monteverde. We questioned wether or not to look at the venue despite the recent bad press the restaurant had jsut received. We arrived at the venue we waited for 20 minutes outside the office we were told we would be met by Mary Ellen only to find out that she was sick. A phone call or email would have been appriciated. We were then walked around the propert by a gentleman who had limited access and knowledge about the property. All these things left a bad taste in my mouth but my fiance insisted we pursue this venue. With these reservations in mind my fiance emailed Mounteverde as quoted below\"Hi Mary Ellen,My fiancée and I are very interested in your venue as the spot for our wedding but we have a few trepidations. The price of 250 not including top shelf liquor is high. My fiancée is also concerned with your recent hepatitis a scare and how it will look to our guests. Please let me know if you are willing to come down in price. My fiance and I had made arrangements to look at Monteverde as a potential wedding venue for next fall. Several days before the appointment an article was published notifing the public about a case of hepatitis that was affliated with Monteverde. We questioned wether or not to look at the venue despite the recent bad press the restaurant had jsut received. We arrived at the venue we waited for 20 minutes outside the office we were told we would be met by Mary Ellen only to find out that she was sick. A phone call or email would have been appriciated. We were then walked around the propert by a gentleman who had limited access and knowledge about the property. All these things left a bad taste in my mouth but my fiance insisted we pursue this venue. With these reservations in mind my fiance emailed Mounteverde as quoted below\"Hi Mary Ellen,My fiancée and I are very interested in your venue as the spot for our wedding but we have a few trepidations. The price of 250 not including top shelf liquor is high. My fiancée is also concerned with your recent hepatitis a scare and how it will look to our guests. Please let me know if you are willing to come down in price. From the stone patio, to the grand lawn, mansion and tent, so many people asked me how I found this perfect venue all evening. :) Its staff is also extremely helpful- I loved working with Mary Ellen and Lisa through the whole process!

As a heads up, the pricing on The Knot is way out of date. It says $125-$155 per person and when I finally spoke to the wedding coordinator it was $250 per person. Needless to say, it was way more expensive than I was anticipating. The views are gorgeous and it would be the perfect location for an outdoor wedding. However, working with the staff to get details or an appointment was extremely difficult. I had emailed and called without a response for a few weeks. We stopped into the restaurant and luckily were able to walk around but even after speaking with a manager we were unable to get any wedding package information so we were directed to call the office. When I finally got a hold of the wedding coordinator she told me the price over the phone but never followed up with an email as we discussed. In the end, I wish the price was more reasonable but it was really the lack of customer service that made me decide to walk away.

Monteverde at Oldstone is a beautiful venue for a wedding or any event. Stunning views of the Hudson and a magnificent old historic mansion. The tent on the property can accommodate up to 300. The Event Planning staff are very responsive and helpful in answering all questions and concerns. One of the best locations on the Hudson. As a guest at a recent wedding, I was very impressed and am considering this location for my son's wedding.

As soon as we visited the Monteverde, we knew we had found the perfect venue for our wedding. We first saw the grounds in winter and loved it, and on the day or our spring wedding in May (2015), it was glorious. We wanted to have an outdoor wedding, and the Monteverde offered beautifully kept grounds and stunning views, as well as a great backup option in case of rain that still emphasized the outdoor features of the property. Mary Ellen, Lisa, and their staff were wonderful to work with during all stages of planning up through the big day. They had great ideas and instantly understood the kind of wedding we wanted, somewhat informal yet classy and fun, and helped us think through all of the details. We started with the cocktail hour on the stone patio under the shade of beautiful trees. The ceremony was on the great lawn, with breathtaking views of the mountains and Hudson River and a magnificent breeze. Dinner and dancing were held in the spacious and well-appointed tent pavilion. And of course the bridal suite was a lovely way to end the evening. Throughout, Monteverde staff were relaxed and professional, helping us stay on track and even accommodating spontaneous activities on the wedding day. Ours was the only event that weekend so several of our guests with children were able to stay in the Monteverde rooms, which was very convenient. The Monteverde is 45 miles north of Manhattan, accessible by public transportation (Metro North train), and not far from the Westchester airport (several of our guests were very grateful to not have to fly into NY City airports). The nearby city of Peekskill has reasonably priced hotels and several excellent restaurants and pubs. Overall, the Monteverde exceeded all expectations for our wedding: a magical setting, wonderful staff, and a convenient location in the lovely Hudson Valley. \r\r

I had my wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone at the end of April 2015. We had looked at a lot of venues in Westchester, Manhattan, and Connecticut and Monteverde had everything we were looking for! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Not everything was in bloom yet and it was still gorgeous. What we loved about the venue however, was that for a tent wedding - Monteverde provided the tent, dance floor, and bathrooms already which we didn't find at some other venues. We also loved the Mansion which was reassuring to know if it rained our guests would be able to fit inside for cocktail hour. Luckily it did not and we were able to use the Mansion and the grounds for our cocktail hour. The staff at Monteverde were wonderful! I worked with MaryEllen on my wedding plans and the day of. At my wedding, my husband's grandfather fell between cocktail hour and the reception and the ambulance had to come. The Monteverde staff were so helpful in the situation and calming. Since we lost time in the night they even let us stay longer to make up for it (our grandfather rejoined the party and was okay!). My husband and I also slept over that night and are so happy we did. We woke up to a beautiful breakfast that we had on the deck in the bridal suite. I just can't say enough great things! \rAlso - if anyone is interested I used Unique Affairs Catering for my Caterer here. They did an EXCEPTIONAL job and were run so smoothly. Even the Monteverde staff members commented to me on how great my caterer was. Choosing a caterer was very stressful and we couldn't have made a better choice!\r\r

My wife and are avid hikers.When we began our search for our wedding venue, we looked for something that would represent us and our love of nature. We were thrilled to find Monteverde. Its views in my opinion are the most spectacular on the Hudson River! Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception took place in different locations on the estate...each with incredible views of the Hudson! Besides the incredible setting, the venue has most of the items that would normally need to be rented for a tented reception! This was definitely a plus..and it actually saved us quite a bit of money! Their incredible event team made the entire planning process fun and enjoyable! My wife and I held our wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone this August and were extremely happy with the venue and the level of service provided by the staff there. \r\rThe property and the view it affords really speak for themselves. We first saw Monteverde on a frigid and gloomy day in February when the ground was covered with ice, and we were still sold. If you are looking to have your wedding in a beautiful natural setting that’s also within striking distance of New York City, this is a wonderful option. \r\rThe owner and staff also really care about the property and the client experience, and it shows.\r\rThroughout the planning process, Mary Ellen Fabry, the Director of Events at Monteverde, was responsive, helpful, and supportive. My wife and I held our wedding at Monteverde at Oldstone this August and were extremely happy with the venue and the level of service provided by the staff there. \r\rThe property and the view it affords really speak for themselves. We first saw Monteverde on a frigid and gloomy day in February when the ground was covered with ice, and we were still sold. If you are looking to have your wedding in a beautiful natural setting that’s also within striking distance of New York City, this is a wonderful option. \r\rThe owner and staff also really care about the property and the client experience, and it shows.\r\rThroughout the planning process, Mary Ellen Fabry, the Director of Events at Monteverde, was responsive, helpful, and supportive. Let me start off this review by saying my words cannot fully describe how beautiful this venue really is. You have to visit it for yourself for that and when you do you will fall in love, just like we did. You will be greeted with gorgeous scenery, stunning views of the Hudson River and warm welcomes from Mary Ellen, Arlene and the rest of the staff. From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds of Monteverde we knew this was the place for us. Monteverde offered exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue and more, a magnificent outdoor space and freedom to use the whole property as we saw fit for the duration of the event as well as being the only event held that day. The venue offers several outdoor and indoor spaces to be used as you see fit throughout the day. There is no set plan that you have to follow, like many wedding factories, allowing each couple to really personalize how they celebrate their big day. Blessed with gorgeous summer day, we held our ceremony on the Great Lawn, overlooking the river and Dunderberg (which was an added bonus for me, an avid hiker). Our cocktail hour spread across the patio areas and our reception dinner was held within the lovely mansion. Music and dancing were held on the mansion patio under open skies, a big hit with our guests. From start to finish, our experiences at Monteverde were exceptional. Mary Ellen, Arlene and their staff paid great attention and care to all our needs throughout the entire planning process as well as on our wedding day. They made wedding planning fun and much easier than we had imagined it would be. They offered many logistical and vendor suggestions as well as general planning advice but also offered us the freedom to use their space as we best saw fit. Their help was invaluable to the whole planning process and we felt 100% comfortable working with and sharing our big day with them. Overall, Monteverde is a gorgeous Hudson Valley venue with exceptional staff providing a very personalize one of kind wedding service. Monteverde, forever, holds a very special place in our hearts.

Monteverde at Oldstone was the most beautiful and special venue for us to host our daughter’s wedding. From the moment we first set eyes on this property and met Mary Ellen Fabry and the team at this historic site we were hooked. It is a breathtaking space for a wedding. The grounds are maintained beautifully and the mansion is done in exquisite taste with guests comfort in mind. It was a true pleasure developing a relationship with the team. Arlene, Mary Ellen and Mary were on top of everything and took the time to get to know us and to make sure our desires and expectations were met. We had the pleasure of being able to stay on property for the entire wedding weekend which allowed for wonderful family time, a relaxed and fun atmosphere to get ready, lovely and inviting guest rooms all set the stage for a magical weekend. Our 240 guests fit extremely comfortably in the reception tent and as one guest said, made a larger wedding feel warm and intimate. The feedback from our guests has been amazing...they called the venue “unique,” “breathtaking” and “oasis close to the city.” In every aspect, our experience at Monteverde at Oldstone exceeded our expectations. With the highest of praise and with great delight we completely recommend this majestic wedding venue.

My husband and I were married at Monteverde on August 31, 2014. The first time we saw the venue, we were certain it was the perfect place for us. The views are gorgeous, the mansion is beautiful inside and the setting is so serene and private. \r\rI will admit, I had some concerns leading up to it because we had to provide so many services and items on our own and the cost was already quite a bit, but it was really and truly worth it in the long run. I was so happy with our choice because the people at Monteverde care so much about making the wedding day perfect.\r\rLeading up to the wedding, Mary Ellen (the venue coordinator) and her team were so helpful. They gave us and our families multiple tours, they met with us whenever we needed to to plan, they did a great walk through with all of our vendors and they provided insight and suggestions every step of the way. The week before the wedding they also came up with a plan for the day and a rain plan (rain was in the forecast...and the forecast was accurate!) just in case.\r\rThe day of the wedding, Mary Ellen and her team were so fantastic. We really could not have asked for anyone better. The bridal suite is gorgeous to get ready and my whole family was able to do last minute fix-ups, change, etc. in my room. There is also a beautiful balcony that I used to view my husband as he arrived and some of the festivities (Indian wedding) that happen before I join the ceremony. \r\rWe really knew the worth of Monteverde, though, when it began to rain moments before our ceremony. Mary Ellen worked quickly to move everything under the tent. Then, due to circumstances outside our and her control, when the rain plan went a little awry and we lost an hour of wedding time trying to get things back on track, Mary Ellen gave us an extra hour at the end of the night to ensure we had our full reception (they even talked to our vendors to get them to stay longer without charging us anything extra). \r\rThe whole day was beautiful and perfect, despite the hiccups because Mary Ellen's team worked so hard to ensure that everything went smoothly. I cannot thank them enough for their incredible services. I highly recommend Monteverde for a wedding venue!

The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, the tented pavilion was stunning, and the overnight stay was wonderful.\r\rBut planning the wedding through Moneverde management was a pain. They were boldly rude during our walk through. It made the planning experience very uncomfortable.\rAlso, I suggest checking your contract for additional costs.\r\rAfter a tough time planning, in the end, we had a lovely wedding so I have a mixed review. My wife and I searched up and down a good amount of the Hudson River for the \"perfect\" venue: something right on the water, small enough that we could actually take advantage of the whole property (what good are hundreds of acres if you are confined to one small portion?) but large enough that it would feel like a change of scenery as we progressed to different stages of the event. Not to mention, a bridal suite that we could stay in after the evening was over.\r\rThis place had everything we wanted (in a venue). It's important to note that this is strictly a venue, and you must bring in your own outside vendors. They do have a list of approved, preferred vendors, but you are not limited to that list. We went off-list for our caterer and after they met with the venue and provided necessary paperwork, they were approved. \r\rThe venue was pricey, but if you take into account what you get for it, the value is really there. A big perk for us was that they have an outdoor tent permanently installed on the premises, with a stone/cement floor and a moveable dance floor. If you consider that renting a tent for any other outdoor space could run you $5,000-10,000 easily, just for the rental (of course, there are extra charges for delivery), you've saved yourself the hassle of finding one more vendor. Plus, even if it's been pouring rain (as it did for the full week), the tent, and the flooring beneath it, stay dry. \r\rWife and co got ready in the spacious bridal suite, while myself and the groomsmen got ready in one of the 6 cottages on site that are available for rent (another perk... having your bridal party stay at the venue with you). We got married on the grand lawn, had cocktail hour on the stone patio, made our way down to the tent for dinner and dancing, and finished up the evening with an after hours bbq and cocktail hour after-party in the grape arbor (perk). As I said before, it was important to us that every piece of these wedding feel unique, and we certainly accomplished that.\r\rOur party was for 165, but the tent can fit up to 300-350 or so. Given the monsoon we had the day before, we rehearsed as if we would be having the ceremony inside the mansion. While it had a nice feel to it, it would've been a tight squeeze with a lot of standing guests, and we of course chose this venue for all of the outdoor amenities.\r\rAt times, getting ahold of the coordinator was difficult during the planning process, which stressed my wife out a bit, but in the two or so weeks leading up to the wedding, and especially on the day of, they delivered the concierge service we were expecting for the price point. At the end of the day, I understand that months ahead of your event they may not reply to an email/voicemail ASAP if there is an event happening that week... that couple deserves all the attention.\r\rEvery couple has different requirements -- we didn't see the value of having a historic mansion in the background that we were forbidden from entering, for example -- so this met all of our wants and needs. If you want an outdoor event right on the water in the Hudson Valley, it is definitely something worth checking out.

I fell in love with Monteverde based on their listing in the Knot. However, I was completely blown away from the moment I entered their impressive front gate. Absolutely,spectacular views of the Hudson! All my guests were thrilled with the venue! From the the first visit to the final good byes, Monteverde accommodated all of our wishes a most professional and timely manner.\r

Monteverde at Oldstone is an awesome venue! Since many of our friends and coworkers were getting married around the same time, we wanted to host our wedding at a venue that would set us apart. And, happily we found that when we selected Monteverde. The estate is gorgeous, the views spectacular and the service surpassed our expectations! If you're looking to \"wow\" your guests, I would suggest taking a tour of Monteverde at Oldstone.

When my daughter called me to tell me that she was engaged, I was thrilled! She and her finace were living in CA at the time finishing up medical school. However, they wanted to get married \"at home\" on the east coast.So, she asked me if I would be willing to plan her \"one-of-a-kind\" wedding. I completely panicked! I began my research with possible wedding venues. I was totally overwhelmed ~ Then I contacted Monteverde at Oldstone. The estate is a one-of-a-kind gem located on the Hudson River! Mary Ellen, the Event Director, listened and offered me numerous ideas and the direction needed to create the wedding my daughter and her finace had desired. My daughter's wedding was pure magic! I can't say enough about the beauty of the estate, the ease with which the entire wedding was planned, and how the Monteverde staff supported me throughout the entire process. Thank you, Monteverde at Oldstone! I would highly recommend your venue!
