Mooreland Mansion is an elegant wedding venue located in Kirtland, OH. The neoclassical mansion features sprawling gardens, stately columns, and breathtaking event spaces. This venue offers a picturesque setting for couples celebrating one of the happiest days of their lives. Built by William Edward Moore, this mansion originally served as his family’s summer home. Moore was a successful businessman who commissioned Arthur N. Oviatt, a local architect, to build Mooreland Mansion in the late 19th century. The estate encompassed 1,000 acres of land and its owners hosted prominent figures such as Ignacy Paderewski, Poland’s prime minister. By the 1960s, the family had sold much of the land. During this time, the mansion was purchased by Lakeland Community College for its new campus. In 1993, the college’s board of trustees approved the renovation of the house to restore it to its original grandeur. Today, it offers the sophisticated aesthetic of a turn-of-the-century mansion while it is equipped with modern amenities. The venue’s many event spaces exude old-fashioned glamour from its vibrant rose garden to the refined Oviatt Room. This wedding destination boasts hardwood flooring, intricate chandeliers, and other exquisite detailing throughout. Mooreland Mansion offers several indoor and outdoor spaces where couples can host their nuptials. With a total of eight classically designed function rooms, soon-to-be newlyweds are sure to find a space that suits their tastes and event size. For those in search of a banquet hall, the Restoration or Oviatt Rooms provide an idyllic backdrop. Alternately, the Verandah serves as a beautiful setting for summer weddings or a relaxed cocktail hour. This space overlooks the neatly manicured rose garden, which is ideal for taking wedding photos. Couples may enhance their event spaces with a selection of decor from the venue. Soon-to-be newlyweds and their wedding party may also use the establishment’s other rooms to get ready before the festivities.

Mooreland Mansion was a beautiful place to have our ceremony and reception and we received many compliments from our guests on the fantastic venue. Good value, beautiful scenery, great communication from the venue coordinator. We got married in June and had our ceremony on the stone patio behind the mansion (we decided against the rose garden as the roses were a bit sparse and there was no cover from the sun - the view from the patio was lovely and the surrounding trees provided shade). Our cocktail hour and reception also took place outside on the deck and patio and it was a gorgeous backdrop for all of the festivities. Dinner was inside in the dining rooms and we loved being able to move between the indoor and outdoor spaces as we pleased. We also loved having access to the whole mansion and grounds (including the upstairs for the bridal party) for pictures and preparations before the ceremony & reception. Normandy Catering, particularly Tawny, was excellent to work with. She answered all of our questions thoroughly and in a timely manner and the catering was fantastic without breaking the bank. We had a wonderful experience here and I would highly recommend this venue.

Upon first glance Mooreland is a really pretty, unique and historic place for a wedding. However the communication leading up to wedding day was not the best which led to several errors on wedding day (like timing and wrong tablecloths). There was some problem with the dinner lighting that ruined the ambiance we were trying to create with our candlelit centerpieces , and instead the overhead lights were fully bright. Our ceremony was in the rose garden and we were told how beautiful it would be in September and how well kept it is, and there were barely ANY roses to speak of. We did have some very nice pictures on the grand staircase and outside the front steps. The wedding day staff were helpful and did apologize for the errors, but overall I wasn't as excited about the venue when it was all said and done as I hoped I would be.

We loved having our wedding at Mooreland Mansion! The place was beautiful and requires us to provide very little decorations. The only slight disappointment was that there were essentially no roses blooming in the rose garden.

The absolute perfect venue for a wedding! The rose garden was a breath taking backdrop for the ceremony and the outdoor space was beyond perfect for cocktail hour and dancing. Amazing venue to have everything at one place. We were able to take pictures before the ceremony around the beautiful mansion and it’s many gardens and beautiful outdoor spaces. Normandy Catering was amazing to work with and made the wedding planning process and seamless. I wish I could rewind and relive our day! Choosing a this venue was the BEST DECISION we made.

This venue was exactly what we dreamed of when we pictured our wedding. When we went for our tour it was the dead of winter but even with that we knew right away that it was the place for us. We didn't get a chance to see any of the flowers out front or gardens before our rehearsal but it 100% lived up to all the photos I saw online. Michelle was incredible to work with from start to finish. She was so helpful with all the questions we had and responded to emails quickly. The day of the wedding and for months after we got non-stop compliments of the venue. People were blown away by the beauty of the gardens with the backdrop of the huge mansion. There were so many gorgeous choices for photos. The food was delicious and a lot of variety for the bar. It did not disappoint. I loved being able to walk from the garden over to the patio for the first dance. The dancing outside on the deck with tables and the bar nearby kept everyone together for the whole night. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

The venue is indeed beautiful and will definitely impress guests, but that’s all I can speak highly of here. Our wedding was in September 2019 and we worked with Michelle to plan it. She was very flexible and easy to work with but as the date got closer, it was apparent that she and the catering team were less organized than I thought. The day before our scheduled rehearsal she asked whether we were rehearsing on Thursday or Friday (it was Thursday at 5). She let us know we’d have to be out by 6 because an event would be starting. Would have been good to know that sooner than the day before (and if she had remembered in the first place) but we worked with it. Things were off to a good start on Saturday but as soon as the reception began, the cracks begin to show. Half the tables had been served and staff began busing all the while some tables (mainly in the large room where all our closest family/head table was) hadn’t received food yet. I unfortunately had to track down Michelle in the middle of dinner to ask what the issue was, because she was in the kitchen helping rather than coordinating. She told me they were going as fast as they could. One server told me that some staff called off or just didn’t show up. Later on in the night, Michelle let my mother know that the kitchen had dropped a tray of chicken (35+ pieces) and she thought she ought to let someone know. It was so disappointing and embarrassing to learn of more and more people who didn’t get a complete meal that night over the next few days. Leftover food was even taken off some tables to give to others that had none. When I wrote to her with my concerns, she apologized and was able to do a small partial refund on some catering fees but maintained that everyone had enough to eat. Really, really not what I should have been told. I didn’t pay Mooreland (and Normandy Catering) to make sure that everyone had “enough” to eat. I paid for X amount of food and enough professional staff to properly serve it. It was by no means inexpensive and if someone is going to pay thousands for your products and services, you ought to have reliable staff and enough food. It’s tainted our whole wedding experience and had I known this would happen, I would’ve never chosen Mooreland.

Mooreland is pure magic!! I actually work as a wedding planner, so to say I had high expectations for our June wedding would be the understatement of the year. Mooreland delivered in every way. Our guests were just as in love with the mansion & grounds as we were; it made me so happy to hear how beautiful they thought it was throughout our day. The service? Above and beyond. Everyone we ever interacted with at Mooreland (but especially Michelle) was just so accommodating. Plus, our guests raved about the food (pretzel chicken, pork medallions & mushroom risotto). I can tell you *very* confidently that you will be hard-pressed to find the atmosphere, flexibility and value that Mooreland offers.

When choosing the Mooreland Mansion to be our wedding ceremony and reception venue, I did not anticipate how truly beautiful and perfect our wedding day would be. With the help of the Event Coordinator, Michelle, Normandy Catering for the AMAZING food (everyone was raving about it - Bruschetta Chicken, NY Steak, Veggie Cous Cous), the beautiful mansion and outdoor space, and the help of all our other vendors, it was a dream of a wedding. We have guests telling us how unique this space is from a traditional ballroom/banquet, which is exactly what I wanted. Having the dance floor on the back porch of the mansion created such a fun and different environment to dance and sing the night away, which looks over the gardens in the backyard. It is a beautiful venue and very reasonably priced. I had so many compliments from my guests. The food was good too. I would highly recommend hiring Marie for your day of coordinator. She made sure we were taken care of and that everything ran smoothly. All the staff was great and made my day very easy. I would highly recommend them!

We were absolutely thrilled with every aspect of hosting our reception at Mooreland Mansion. The grounds are beautiful, and the house provided exactly the kind of intimate atmosphere we were hoping for. The guests found the location a refreshing change from the more common hotel ballroom type venues. Most importantly, Katie Coach went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. Considering we have never planned a wedding before, we needed quite a bit of hand holding from Katie. She really made what could have been a stressful experience an extremely pleasant one. I highly recommend Mooreland Mansion to anyone wanting an elegant and warm wedding.

Could not have chosen a better wedding venue. So much character and incredible places for photography for a wedding. We had all of our events here (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) and received so many compliments on the venue. We loved the southern charm and historical nature and the staff was a true pleasure to work with. Katie, the lead planner, is super flexible and her attention to detail is exactly what a bride needs. She made the entire planning process easier. The food was great and we loved being able to use so many different spaces at the mansion. The venue is extremely affordable and is ANYTHING but cookie cutter! So happy we chose Mooreland for our special day!

If I could leave a zero star rating I would. I booked a site visit months ago. I get an email 3 business days before from Katie asking me to push it by 2+ hours. I came into Cleveland from out of town to visit multiple sites and had a very planned out schedule, so no, pushing it by two hours was not possible. She assured me she'd briefed her colleague Barbara on our proposal and that Barbara would be with us until she arrived. We arrived a few minutes late and greeted by nobody. Barbara showed up, told us she was preparing for a President's luncheon, and walked away after being short with my mother about capacity. No proposal review, no site tour, nothing. To make matters even worse, Katie never even showed up and then said in email that there was a miscommunication with Barbara about our site visit. We will obviously not be having our wedding here. If my site visit cannot even be managed propoerly, how the hell could a wedding possibly be?! I felt so disrespected today I am prepared to tell all of my family and friends to stay away from the place. I was treated like dirt when I was prepared to literally put a deposit down today. Yea right. Not anymore.

Absolutely perfect for a unique and elegant wedding! We had our ceremony and reception at Mooreland in June and we could not be happier! The grounds were gorgeous and made for a beautiful ceremony and pictures. The Mansion was intimate and elegant and the dance floor on the veranda was the perfect spot for guests to dance and/or gather on the patio. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We loved Mooreland Mansion... and so did our guests! We held our ceremony and reception there on 8/20/16 and everything was perfect, and went so smoothly. The planners felt like family and were so helpful and accommodating with everything. The mansion and grounds are beautiful! Food was great too. We cannot rave enough about the mansion and the staff. We recommend this venue to everyone!

The planners felt like family and were so helpful and accommodating with everything. The mansion and grounds are beautiful! Food was great too. We cannot rave enough about the mansion and the staff. We recommend this venue to everyone!

Loved, loved, loved Mooreland Mansion!! When we started planning our wedding, my husband and I knew we wanted something different, and we knew we wanted the ceremony and reception at the same place. The first place we looked at was Mooreland, and we fell in love instantly. Mooreland is the ideal place for a romantic and timeless wedding. The rose garden was beyond beautiful for the ceremony, and the verandah was an amazing spot for the reception! The grounds are perfect for pictures, too. The staff at Mooreland, Marie especially, were wonderful to work with! They all made the planning process a breeze, and were very organized with every detail. What I really loved about Mooreland was that they provided a lot for the ceremony and reception. I didn't have to rent any table, chairs, linens, china, or silverware for the big day. They even provide some of the decorations! This made my planning a breeze. The food from their private caterer was AMAZNG!! We got so many compliments on how wonderful the food was. The day of the wedding, Marie made us feel as if we were her family, and went out of her way to make sure everything went perfectly. All in all, we had an absolutely perfect wedding at Mooreland Mansion, and would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Working with Sherry and Marie was such a positive experience. The venue was perfect for the 110 person wedding ceremony and reception. They were so organized, I was able to let go of my control on the day of my wedding. I had no worries!! There were so many impressed guests who could not stop raving about the whole environment. Mooreland was the perfect venue for us. The wedding ceremony was in a rose garden, with the reception following on the beautiful grounds and in the mansion. The verandah was spacious for our cocktail hour and dancing later. The interior was gorgeous and provided the exact ambiance we had hoped for our special day. The staff were wonderful, especially Marie who was our guiding angel throughout the entire wedding day. Planning the event with Sherry was very efficient, especially since we planned the entire wedding in just over six weeks. Barbara oversaw the evening activities with the band, buffet, etc. with a calm and pleasant professionalism. They also provided references for the flowers and the minister, based upon their past experiences, and the recommendations were wonderful. The food was generally very good (our guests raved about the appetizers but we never had a chance to sample them due to photos). The band was situated in a great location on the verandah, which made it easy to enjoy them during the cocktail hour and especially when we danced later. The character of the entire venue was absolutely everything we could have wanted.

Everything went incredibly smooth from start to finish. Sherry and Barb were friendly, patient, and helpful. \r\rIf you choose to have an area for children/a babysitter, make sure that they do not put the screaming children in the room next to wear you are dressing for the big day. There is nothing quite a stressful as a screaming child when you are trying to get beautiful for the most important day of your life. Otherwise, everything was handled wonderfully!

I can't say enough great things about Mooreland's venue and staff. Debbie and Barbara thought of little details that I hadn't considered. We had hoped for an outdoor wedding/indoor reception and when the weather didn't cooperate, the back-up plan was implemented seamlessly. They help coordinate vendor arrival and set up and offer many items as part of their package, reducing the number of vendors needed. The food was raved about by all. Dinner service was excellent. I highly recommend this venue.

I really loved the way everything looked! The food was very presentable served with a flower as garnish on the plate. the food was great tasting too! my only complaint is that they wouldn't serve shots at the bar even though i bought the premium package.

we had our rehearsal dinner at Moreland Mansion. It is such a historically beautiful old house that you can't help but fall in love with. We had dinner on the large outer deck, lined with tealights, and overlooking their beautiful landscaping. They have their own caterer that fed us awesome salmon, brie, chicken, potatoes, and salad...you can tweak their menu to fit your tastes. We also returned the day of the wedding for pictures both inside and out...beautiful windows, staircases, and gardens for lots of great picture opportunities!
