The intimate family-owned mountaintop vineyard was designed and built to offer our guests and visitors what is simply one of the most beautiful winery experiences to be had in Virginia. A short drive from Charlottesville, the Moss Vineyards estate sits 1000 feet above sea level in the historic Monticello wine region, producing award winning wines onsite. The stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding foothills makes it a superb venue for your picture perfect wedding. The newly constructed event space provides a year round reception room, bridal suite, catering kitchen and restrooms to accommodate weddings of varying sizes. An outdoor covered pavilion is perfect for the wedding ceremony and after dinner dancing. Cocktails can be served in the tasting room and patio and/or pavilion. The grounds are perfect for a ceremony space, socializing and amazing photography. The venue is best suited for up to 125 guests.

Moss Vineyards has the absolute best views of any vineyard in the area. They're up on the side of a mountain, so you get breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge and valley. Our guests couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful our ceremony location was! The wine is delicious, and the different spaces (lawn, pavilion, tasting room, and event hall) made it so that we could move seamlessly from one part of the evening to the next. What's more, Barry and Ellen are lovely people. We had to postpone twice due to COVID, and they were so accommodating, flexible, and kind. We truly feel like they went above and beyond to help us make our wedding day possible! I'd highly recommend Moss to any couple.

This place is such a hidden gem, but my guess is that it won’t be for long! We had the perfect day here. The scenery provided such an incredible and breathtaking backdrop for our special day. Our guests could not get over the view. We had our ceremony under the pavilion just at sunset and it was incredible. It was such a game changer to be able to set up the event space the day before. The owners, Barry and Ellen are the sweetest and are so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. Would recommend a thousand times over.

My husband and I picked Moss Vineyards for the amazing Mountain View and it totally delivered! The venue is absolutely beautiful and the fact that there’s a covered space in case of rain worked out in our favor! Only downside to this venue is the owner is a little awkward to work with - he’s very accommodating but if I’m being honest he was hard to communicate with at times. Overall though the beauty and unplugged nature of the venue is totally worth it

Moss is such a dream venue! We got endless compliments about the incredible view. Barry is so accommodating and was so great to work with. He made sure the whole day went as we wanted it to, even making sure his speakers were up to date and putting in tent sides on the pavilion in case of rain. It has such an incredible view and the event space is so beautiful. Our wedding was about 140 people and seemed to probably be the max to fit in the space, but still wonderful. We loved working with Barry and loved having our wedding at Moss!

This venue was absolutely amazing! The ceremony pavilion and brand new reception hall were fantastic and the view was unbelievable. Of all the vineyards in and around Charlottesville, this one has probably the most spectacular mountainside valley view. There was plenty of space for our ceremony (in the covered pavilion), cocktail hour (in the tasting room), and reception (in the brand new reception hall). Moss Vineyards wine is also some of the best we have, and we received a lot of compliments on it from our guests. All the vendors also had an easy time coordinating with the venue and setting up and taking down for the event. Barry and Ellen, the owners, worked tirelessly to make sure our day went off without a hitch. There had been unusually heavy rain for a couple weeks prior to our wedding date and a couple days before our date, the road up to the vineyard washed out. Barry was out there the next morning on his tractor and had everything fixed and back up and running in less than a day. He really cares about his clients! I can't express how much we loved this venue and would recommend it to anybody looking for a wedding venue in Charlottesville!

Barry Moss is an owner of TM Architects and has over 30 years of award-winning design experience. His wife, Ellen, has over 30 years of Finance IT experience. In 2007, they embarked on a journey to create their vision of a mountain top vineyard rooted in their their fondness for the Blue Ridge and wine regions in Italy, France and California. Now they would like to share the beauty of Moss Vineyards and its award-winning wines with you to provide a stunning backdrop for your special event.
