Alisha S(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-11-2021 From when I got engaged mountain shadows was the top of my list for venues purely on the amazing views and the mid century modern architecture. Once I reached out the team was super communicative, which was important to me since I don’t live in Arizona and this was during covid. They did a video walk through of the venue for us and did as many calls as needed to make sure I was comfortable. The tasting was amazing and made us feel so welcome, even had champagne served to us when we walked in. Missy who was our main pint of contact was just such a joy to work with and always had an answer or fox for anything we needed. We had several of our guests stay at mountain shadows for our wedding weekend and everyone loved the property and pool. We even rented a few cabanas the day after the wedding to lounge and continue the festivities. The wedding venue was everything we could have dreamed of. The view was amazing, we had so many guests tell us the food was the best they have had at any wedding, which I would have to agree. The food was unreal how good it was, esp being served for that many people. The staff were so professional and accommodating. Very bartender knew my and my husbands drink order, so we always had a cocktail ready when we needed it. They also packed up the food we didn’t finish and sent it to our room. My brother in law had to leave dinner to attend to my baby nephew and they took his plate to keep it hot for when he got back. That is the type of attention to detail they had. If you are going to pay premium, you expect a certain level of service and quality and mountain shadows exceeded our expectations. Reviewed on 02-12-2021

The views and atmosphere of the lawn and overlook deck felt so special and breathtaking, and the views are truly unmatched. The food was delicious, the service is impeccable, and having the guests stay at the hotel also made for a truly seamless and convenient experience for everyone. As for planning, Missy was such a pleasure to work with from day one. She was always responsive, kind, cheerful, and provided us with such attention and care! We couldn't recommend this venue more. Leticia McDonald(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-12-2022 I knew I wanted my wedding ceremony and reception to overlook camelback Mountain. I had been to the area a couple of times but never visited Mountain Shadows. While doing research I saw their lawn and overlook and both seemed perfect for my outdoor wedding. I first spoke to Missy who was very knowledgeable and super responsive to my questions - I was pregnant and I wouldn’t be able to visit Scottsdale for the food tasting but every review I read raved about the food.Missy made the planning super easy, and I am so happy I picked Mountain Shadows. It was truly magical ❤️ you can’t beat the views… but more than that, their customer service was top notch !!! Our server on the day of the wedding was so kind. Ian Brown(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-02-2022 We have been describing our wedding day at Mountain Shadows as “perfect,” and it truly was! This was a destination wedding for us, so Missy and the Mtn Shadows team were very effective at accommodating our remote-planning needs. Missy was great to work with in every way.Our ceremony was on the resort lawn, which was a very pleasant and beautiful space - with an incredible mountain backdrop that set an amazing vibe (the photos came out GREAT).Since we were keeping our wedding small, we were able to have dinner on the overlook - such a great decision. Our guests were able to enjoy the sunset while we wrapped up photos on the grounds. All of our guests shared genuinely high praise of the food at our reception (dinner) and that the resort staff we so friendly and awesome. It meant a lot that Mountain Shadows took such great care of us and our guests! It was an experience we will remember fondly forever. Thank you Missy & team! Reviewed on 18-06-2022
Lena Trbojevic(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2022 We had an end of May wedding (ceremony and reception) for 50 people at Mountain Shadows. We had shopped around a bit at other hotels/resorts around Scottsdale, which all had similar pricing, and it felt like Mountain Shadows was the most beautiful, tasteful, and upscale venue. The resort itself is always very peaceful no matter what time of year it is (we are local and visit often for staycations and dining in the restaurant). It was absolutely amazing, what a beautiful venue. Greg and Missy in catering are so nice and accommodating, and I can't say enough good things about Ariadne, the banquet captain, who is just a sweetheart. The food was outstanding, just so delicious, and the service was superb - I kept getting guests tell me how quickly the food came out and how they'd never had that level of attentiveness at previous weddings. We had our dinner in the ballroom and I had been concerned it would feel too corporate or unwelcoming but it was actually quite nice with a little bit of decor, and it was great that the doors face the patio (aka Rusty's golf restaurant) that looks on to Camelback Mountain, so guests could come and go as they pleased for a smoke or fresh air. We were also able to have a vintage Volkswagen \"photo bus\" park near the patio which was perfect because it was so easily accessible from the ballroom. The cake that was provided in our package by A Bakeshop was incredible, they nailed the design I asked for and the cake actually tasted SO good (I feel like cake I've had at other weddings is always bland or too sugary), plus they had tons of flavor combinations to choose from. Also, pro tip, Mountain Shadows actually does some desserts like cupcakes, cookies, petit fours that you can add on, which I didn't realize until late so I only added the petit fours when we were below our minimum and had to add some stuff. We had a lot of leftovers and everyone kept coming back for more petit fours the next day, they were definitely a favorite. Also, as to the ceremony area right in front of Camelback, you can't ask for a more spectacular backdrop, especially for photos. I was never one to daydream or fantasize about my wedding, it was actually my husband who wanted one more than me, and I was always very concerned about spending and budget, as we financed the wedding ourselves, but I have to say, I had the absolute best time ever at our wedding, and pretty much all of our friends and family agreed that it was a spectacular venue and amazing event overall. I think our money was 100% well spent, I have zero regrets and I would do it all over in a second if I could! Reviewed on 14-06-2022
Jeffrey Green(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-05-2021 We hosted our wedding at Mountain Shadows in May of this year and it was absolutely perfect. Our guests loved the mid-century decor, the setting at the foot of Camelback and the luxurious feel. It was the perfect place to have our wedding. The lawn was a gorgeous place for us to host our ceremony. The Camelback overlook terrace hosted our cocktail hour which our guests loved as they could take photos with Camelback as their backdrop during sunset. The ballroom was where we had our reception. The staff provided excellent service to us and our guests and our planning process was very smooth from start to finish. Of particular note was the food. Our guests really enjoyed it. Amanda Lernor(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2019 If you want to have the most AMAZING wedding day – you MUST book Mountain Shadows! They are simply amazing. I knew the minute we toured the property with Zeina (in pouring rain, which never happens in Arizona) over a year ago that Mountain Shadows was something truly special. During the year of planning, Zeina and Greg, went above and beyond. They did whatever was necessary to help us bring our vision to life from the ceremony to reception. Every question and concern was immediately answered. The attention to detail including food allergies was refreshing and I knew that no matter what it would be a great wedding and it absolutely was!Zeina had everything under control during our wedding weekend and it seemed to go on without a hitch. During the reception, everything was handled so beautifully and seamlessly! We are still blown away. The food was amazing and our guests have not stopped raving not only about the food but about the incredible service from the entire staff. The attention to the little details really is what stands out for us. Zeina and Greg were in constant communication not just with me and our planner but our vendors. They would e-mail me just to check in to see HOW I was doing especially as the big day approached. Zeina was there when we checked into the hotel on Friday afternoon and was attentive to all of our needs during the entire weekend. And finally, having a server at the reception assigned solely to the bride and groom to cater to our needs – these are just a few of the many little touches that make Mountain Shadows extraordinary.Choosing to have our wedding at Mountain Shadows was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Alexa Kuberra(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2018 I got married in June and needed an indoor reception venue near my church. I probably looked at every hotel ballroom and event space in the Scottsdale/PV/Phoenix area, and pretty much gave up on account of ugliness. Finally, someone suggested this hotel, which I initially wrote off because it looked way over my budget. But boy can I tell you, it is worth every penny you pay. We spent the week prior at the hotel with several out of town friends, and it was complete paradise. The whole venue was clean, brand-new, and beautiful. The staff was incredibly friendly. You just feel like a diva from the minute you post the location on your wedding website, to the end of your wedding reception when you're drying your hands with rolled washcloths in a marble bathroom. Our guests hit the hotel bar after the event because they just didn't want to leave the awesome vibe of the hotel. Not to mention, everyone feels like a king passing off their car keys to valet and having two doormen open the grand entrance doors for you. Our guests said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. We are so thrilled with the mountain backdrop and indoor design elements we were able to have in our wedding photos. If you are shopping around at other hotels in this price range because of the \"legacy\" they have, just stop it and have your wedding here. Reviewed on 15-07-2018
Leila Mikal(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-03-2018 Hands down - BEST wedding venue in the Valley. We had an easy and perfect wedding experience at Mountain Shadows. Even throughout the entire year we were planning with Mountain Shadows - we were surprised over and over at how outstanding the resort and their staff are. Want a flawless wedding day? Ask for Greg Wirth. He goes above and beyond, responds to every question quickly, and was so much fun. Ari is OUTSTANDING as a banquet captain. She was there for every moment of our tasting and wedding day - keeping us fed and with a drink in hand (yay!). The staff are courteous and seem to remember us every time we go back there. The best part? The FOOD. We had almost 200 person wedding and every single guest has raved about how good their meals were. It is nearly impossible to feed 200 people all at once and to do it so well that we are still hearing positive reviews 2 months later.... that's outstanding. The kicker? It rained on our wedding day (the only rainy day in March). And yet, the venue staff pulled together, moved our ceremony inside and it looked flawless. ALWAYS pick a venue with rain space!! You really never know...Thank you Mountain Shadows for making our wedding day the best day of our lives. Reviewed on 14-05-2018
Kelsey Gorsen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-04-2018 Where to start?! My husband and I had our late April wedding at Mountain Shadows and everything was seriously perfect. We are not from Arizona – we live in the Midwest and chose to have a destination wedding where the majority of our guests would be traveling from out of town – so we were looking for a venue that had everything, from hotel accommodations to in-house catering, tables and chairs, linens, etc. Mountain Shadows was the first venue in the area that we toured and we knew from the minute we stepped foot inside that we were going to have our wedding there. The entire resort, from the ceremony space with the gorgeous backdrop of Camelback Mountain, to the ballroom with giant sliding glass doors out to the terrace, to the common areas with mid-century modern touches, was the exact right fit for our wedding. We also held a welcome cocktails event at the hotel bar and Living Room space the night prior, and a pool party the day after. Everything went off without a hitch, in large part due to Mountain Shadows’ Catering Sales Manager Zeina Reinboldt. From day one, Zeina was a dream. She made the wedding planning experience so much easier. I was constantly emailing her with questions, and her responses were always prompt, polite and super helpful. I will never be able to thank her enough for all she did to make our wedding happen. Apart from Zeina, everyone working at the resort (catering, reception, valet, bar and pool staff) was wonderful. Throughout our weekend, there was always someone stopping by to ask us how everything was going or if we needed anything. It made the weekend a lot more manageable. And I just have to mention the food — my goodness, the food. We left our wedding tasting in awe of how amazing everything was, hoping they could replicate it for 130 people. We had no need to worry, as everything was beyond delicious. We had so many guests tell us that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The whole Mountain Shadows experience, from beginning to end, was flawless. We can’t wait to go back to celebrate future special occasions with them. Reviewed on 07-05-2018
