Mountain Top Resort Reviews
Rachel Reed(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-09-2021 My husband and I got married at the Mountain Top over Labor Day Weekend, and it was the venue and wedding of our dreams!! We knew we wanted to get married in my home state of Vermont, but with most of our guests traveling from out of town we needed a destination that could provide a full weekend escape, with everyone able to stay on property. The Mountain Top checked every box. Our friends and family had the time of their lives and took full advantage of all the fun things to do (swimming, boating, hiking, horseback riding, clay bird shooting), and we were able to plan the PERFECT celebration. This was almost entirely thanks to Cassie – my wedding planning soulmate who spent three years (since we had to postpone due to COVID) answering my emails and phone calls and texts, reworking timelines and checklists, coming up with incredible ideas, and making it all happen seamlessly! She is an absolute DREAM and helped bring every last vision and detail to life! From our rehearsal dinner by the lake, to a huge welcome party, to bridal party and family members getting ready in nearly every house, to an absolutely incredible mountain top ceremony, to a cocktail hour by the pool (complete with a rainbow!), to a party in the barn that had our guests dancing nonstop, to an after party in the tavern, to brunch the next morning – the staff did not miss a beat. The food was AMAZING (seriously so many compliments), the bartenders and servers were on top of it, the shuttle drivers got everyone where they needed to go with a smile, and the entire crew knew every detail of our wedding plans and ensured it all ran SO smoothly. We were a big group and had a lot of special touches and requests, and every single detail was looked after. We can't thank the entire team enough. The venue and views speak for themselves – it is the people that truly take this place from \"incredible\" to \"nowhere else in the world compares.\" We also worked with Gayle at Meadow's Edge Floral on all of our floral design – she is sooo lovely and talented! It was so helpful to work with someone (especially when you're planning from out of state) who is on-site and knows every last inch of the property. She went above and beyond for us, and entertained all of my wild requests – from wrapping all of the trees by the lake in twinkle lights for our rehearsal dinner, to covering the entire aisle with white pedals for a \"snowy\" effect in the summer, to floating a canoe filled with flowers in the pool at cocktail hour, to wrapping every single column and bar in greenery for the reception! We spent hours on the phone dreaming up fun touches, and she is so creative and knowledgeable. She and her team knocked it out of the park – walking into the barn and seeing our vision brought to life on the night of our wedding truly took my breath away. Long story short: Booking the Mountain Top (and Meadow's Edge!) for your wedding will be the best decision you make. The ease of allowing all your guests to stay on property, coupled with the breathtaking views and Vermont scenery, plus the staff and their expertise and dedication to giving you the perfect celebration, all add up to an incredibly memorable and perfect start to married life. We will be coming back for our anniversary every year!! Reviewed on 18-12-2021

My husband and I got engaged in Vermont in October 2022. We’re from the Boston area but Vermont has always held a special place in our hearts and when we started looking at venues, we knew we wanted to get married there. We set up site visits at three wonderful venues in December 2022 with MTI being our last stop. As soon as we finished the tour of the venue and sat down for dinner in their tavern to discuss our options, we knew we found our wedding venue. It had the mountains, a lake, and was dog friendly! Khele was wonderful in providing us available dates for a fall wedding and gave us ideas outside of the months we originally requested. When we decided we wanted to get married in 2023 he provided a few dates in November. We agreed on Friday the 17th.The tasting event we attended in April was amazing. It really gave us a full understanding of our offerings, showed all the delicious food options, and gave us a chance to meet many of the vendors we had booked for our day. We did have some bumps during planning with changes in wedding coordinator but ultimately Miranda did an amazing job getting everything finalized for Zoey to pick-up day of. Zoey was amazing and stayed in communication with us the week leading up to and through to the day after our wedding. She was very easy going and made everything feel so simple. She really let me relax and stay present on my wedding day.A bonus to getting married at MTI is the on-site floral department, Meadows Edge Floral. Gayle was amazing to work with and easy to communicate with. She was open to ideas but also knew how to run with the direction we gave her. She made our November wedding come alive with beautiful greenery and made me the most beautiful (and shockingly light) bouquet! It was so great having a built-in vendor that knew the venue so well and who did a great job stretching a floral budget as much as possible!Having said all that getting married at MTI was the best decision for us, from the wonderfullocation hidden in the Green Mountains, to the cohesiveness and seamless teamwork betweenthe vendors and venue. We’re still getting compliments from our guests that it was one of the best weddings that they have ever attended! Reviewed on 05-01-2024

Wedding Date: November 19, 2023Guest Count: 40LGBTQMy wife and I found Mountain Top separate from each other - absolute kismet! We visited in August 2022, as they have a deal where you get a free night's stay if you do a venue tour. Highly recommend! The package includes a coordinator for the months leading up to the wedding, a day-of/weekend-of coordinator, and an EPIC tasting with other couples in your season! It was so nice to have everything on site - from lodging to catering to stylists to the florist, the weekend was seamless.Max, our coordinator leading up to the wedding, was very responsive and helpful. Zoey, our weekend-of coordinator, was ON IT and kept everything running on time and communicated to all necessary parties.Late November is off-season, weather-wise. We made a last-minute choice to move the ceremony indoors, and Zoey/Gayle made it gorgeous. For an intimately sized wedding, the venue didn't feel empty. Our guests loved having warm beverages to enjoy during the ceremony and s'mores by the fire at night.Mountain Top provides great details on its website which gave us the peace of mind we needed to book a venue from far away. This is a magical location even without snow or colorful leaves or sunshine. Off-season weddings often get a bad rap, but there's no such thing as an off-day at Mountain Top. Looking forward to spending our anniversaries at this beautiful oasis. Reviewed on 02-01-2024

Magical doesn’t even begin to describe our day. 2023 has been a year where rain is inevitable and Mountain Top didn’t miss a beat at helping us to navigate the day! Like most couples, we wanted to get married on the Knoll, but mother nature had another idea. We had our ceremony up in the loft and if you let it, it will be a magical moment. The lights were dimmed and it created such a romantic and wonderful experience – not to mention we had 100 happy and warm guests ready to party with us after! Although the actual ceremony was inside, we were delivered some amazing outdoor moments, including moody fall photos during our first look and glowing mountains at cocktail hour! The staff at Mountain Top is out of this world! Miranda was our coordinator and she took our ideas for the big day and made them a reality. She checked in on us all day. The weather was all over the place and she helped us make all the right decisions for us and our guests. Her expertise and reasoning was a great resource and we can’t thank her enough! With her guidance we felt comfortable making some of the “tough” decisions the day presented us with – i.e. making the rain call. Miranda may have started out as a stranger to us, but by the time we ended the planning process she was our friend!Don’t hesitate to book at Mountain Top. It is easily one of the best spots you could have to marry your person. The food, vendors, planners, event staff and accommodations are everything and more! Everyone will help to make your day perfectly your own and you’ll have memories to last you a lifetime! Reviewed on 14-11-2023

Do not hesitate to book MTI for your wedding, this was probably the best decision we ever made for our wedding! We live near Boston, MA but I grew up skiing almost every weekend in winter in VT so the nostalgia of the area initially drew us there. I discovered MTI through The Knot, and it was the first and only venue we actually visited. As soon as we toured it and saw it in person it was a done deal- the property is absolutely STUNNING. We decided on July 2023, as we were leaning towards as summer wedding anyways but they have so many activities there we love in the summer months. They also have so many amenities including onsite restaurant and bar, shuttle service around the property, pool/hot tub, kayaking/paddle boarding, hiking trails, and more. The day before our wedding we had a huge game of disc golf which was so fun and one of our favorite moments of the weekend. We loved the everything happens on property (rehearsal, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party) so once you get there there is no travel involved. Were hoping to get married outside on the beautiful knoll, but had to move inside due to rain, but that is part of why we picked MTI- the inside location for ceremonies is also beautiful. We booked their Mountain Aire guest house and The Treehouse for ourselves and our entire wedding party to stay at for the weekend which was so fun, we love that they have guest houses and cabins in addition to the main hotel- many of our guests stayed in houses in addition to the hotel. We also loved that the cabins are dog friendly as we wanted our dog Bailey to be in the wedding and she was able to stay with my parents in a cabin. Miranda was our wedding coordinator and we cannot say enough great things about her- she was so professional, knowledgeable, timely, and kind. She is just the best and made our entire weekend run so smoothly. The entire staff at MTI is lovely and made us feel so incredibly special all weekend long. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and quickly solved any issues that came up. The food is absolutely delicious, so many of our guests complimented us on it and several who had the salmon we chose said it was the best salmon they ever had. We highly recommend booking your wedding here and making a vacation out of it because they have so much to offer, it's beautiful in all seasons, and you really cannot go wrong here. We love it here and can't wait to return for years to come to celebrate anniversaries/birthdays/ or just for fun!! Reviewed on 06-11-2023

We had our wedding Mountain Top Inn & Resort in August, and this was the best decision we made. We wanted everyone on site to enjoy the entire weekend with us and fall in love with Vermont just like we did. Our guests were in awe of how beautiful the property was and loved how many activities they could do during their stay. The event staff was fantastic and helped make our day go by smoothly. There were a few hiccups with a change in our coordinator, but it all worked out. Would highly recommend having your wedding there! We can't wait to go back to celebrate our anniversary every summer. MTI was the perfect place to get married! We got married October 4, and all of our guests (many of whom are well traveled) said they've never been to a place like this... we truly believe it's magical. Even though we had a smaller wedding (~$20,000 and 40 people) on a Wednesday to cut out their venue fee, every single one of the staff at MTI made us feel like our day was special and we never would have known how many weddings they do. They're a wedding factor in the best way - everything was personalized and met us where we wanted for some DIY stuff, but there were no hiccups because they're so used to throwing amazing weddings. Our coordinator, Rachel, always made sure we had the information we needed, and our day-of coordinator Zoey was professional and made sure everything stayed right on track. We plan to go back soon (as do many of our guests)! Reviewed on 30-10-2023

On the surface, Mountain Top is gorgeous and easily one of the most stunning spots in Vermont. But if you are looking for the warmth, kindness, and empathy that Vermont is famous for on your wedding day, you will not find it here.I would describe my partner and I as the kind of people who would rather sit in a restaurant alone for three hours rather than complain/risk hurting a server's feelings for not greeting us. Total pushovers. But once we got notified of our fourth \"new\" wedding coordinator, even we started getting worried. With the general madness and super low probability that there was something wrong with coordinators one through three, we hired an outside coordinator for extra support who suggested we work directly with upper management. We found the common denominator: the higher-up event management at Mountain Top is kind of terrible. We totally understand that Mountain Top has a lot of weddings and is desirable, but boy does upper management rub it in. In every step of the process, they treat you like they are doing you a massive favor. They could care less about giving you autonomy, listening to what you want, or god-forbid apologizing for anything. We thought it was bad over Zoom/emails/phone calls, but that was nothing compared to actually getting on property on the eve of our wedding day. Bluntly telling us that we would have to get married inside the Loft due to weather, they sat in silence while I just cried into my sister's shirt. No apologies or reassurance, I have genuinely had complete strangers offer more empathy than these people. It wasn't even the fact that the only part of the whole day we wanted was not being included, but that they really just wanted me to get out of their office/stop wasting any more of their time. Not getting married outside was heartbreaking, but nothing compared to the devastation of seeing how much mental, physical, and financial work my parents put in for this to not even get so much as a smile from upper management. Even though I knew they were just as sad as I was, they put on a brave face to provide my partner and I the reassurance, advocacy, and empathy we desperately needed to get through the weekend. Growing up with absolutely nothing as the child of Mexican immigrants, I know my sunflower of a dad just wanted us to have everything on this day. I am ugly sobbing writing this review just thinking about how bad I feel knowing he spent close to $100k to be treated with such indifference and heartlessness. We know our guests had a great time, never knowing anything was wrong due to our INCREDIBLE vendors. We owe every bright and happy memory to their tireless efforts, even in light of Mountain Top treating them like second-class guests. I am only writing this review to hopefully save some other couples from a bad experience. I genuinely want nothing more than for this to be the best day for couples, especially given how financially draining weddings can be. No one deserves to be treated with such disregard and coldness, especially not a day that should be filled with love and joy. The higher-ups would have totally ruined our day if it hadn't been for our lovely biological, chosen, and vendor family. I hope that all Vermont couples have a better experience than us, whether it be at this venue or another <3 Reviewed on 24-10-2023

I will not be able to fit all the AMAZING things I have to say about Mountain Top here. I am convinced this is the best wedding venue in the world, and our guests and family absolutely agreed. To have every aspect thoughtfully considered and on-site was so perfect. It was beautiful, stunning, and so many guests have reached out to tell us how flawless of a day it was, how stunning Mountain Top is, and how good the food was. We loved being able to stay on-site, and to have the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, reception, and after party all in the same place was just so seamless. Our wedding was nothing short of perfect - the staff there put so much hard work and thoughtfulness into our wedding. Particularly Miranda, who covered everything down to the last detail and remembered every last thing for the wedding (too much to name!). The bartenders and shuttle drivers were also awesome - the bartenders even saved some of my favorite drinks for me once they ran out and had them behind the bar when I stopped by! The florals done by Gayle were jaw-droppingly beautiful and the tasting event was a highlight of wedding planning! Mountain Top provided more than I could have ever imagined for our wedding and we will remember their helpfulness, the effort put in by all the staff, the attention to detail, and Mountain Top's beauty for the rest of our lives. Five stars simply is no enough to capture the experience we had planning our wedding with Mountain Top Resort. The day was nearly two years in the making and it went off perfectly thanks to the INCREDIBLE staff. Literally everyone we worked with was not only extremely professional, but so kind and thoughtful. We never felt like we were \"just another wedding\" - we were intentionally looked after with grace and care. What I reflect on the most is just how fun and thoughtful the whole planning experience was with Mountain Top. You get to attend a big tasting event with different vendors, which was so helpful for us. You get assigned a coordinator to guide you throughout your entire planning process and is there on the day with you, which is INCREDIBLE. Shout out specifically to Max, our coordinator, who CRUSHED it. We had a few different coordinators cycle in and out during our planning process and they never missed a beat, especially Max. He was beyond willing to figure anything out for us, jump in, and just absolutely rose to the occasion and then some. The venue of course is stunning and the food was delicious. They were so accommodating to those in our group with dietary restrictions, which meant the world to us. We even changed the sides for some of our dishes, which they were happy to do. You can really make your wedding custom to you, which is incredible. When planning a wedding at mountain top, it can seem very overwhelming with all of the events you could host, houses to rent, vendors, etc. and I never felt that way due to the excellent staff. They really go above and beyond to make sure everything is organized and on time, which, as a type-a bride, I was so grateful for. The venue really flexes to your planning style, so they are happy to be as hands-on or hands-off as you would like them to be, which I appreciated! All in all, I truly couldn't recommend Mountain Top more. Our day, quite simply, was perfect thanks to the incredible team here. Not only will you have an amazing wedding, but you'll make great friends along the way. Reviewed on 29-09-2023

Mountain Top Resort is not conducive to anyone with mobility issues, requiring one to climb stairs or walk on uneven terrain for every aspect, whether it is to access dining, the pool and spa, or reaching the majority of the property. Our party rented a property home, Wintergreen while attending a recent wedding. While it was clean, the property is very tired looking and outdated with all but one bedroom with twin beds either up or downstairs. Reviewed on 27-09-2023

An absolute stunning venue! We had our wedding this past Memorial Day weekend at Mountain Top Inn. It was honestly a dream come true. We had our bridal parties and families stay in the houses on the property (the ladies lavished in The Jewel, which is a must have for any wedding day!), which made everything so convenient. The rehearsal dinner and welcome party down at the Pavilion at the Lake was such a unique private event. But nothing can top our ceremony. We were blessed with blue skies and temperatures in the mid 70’s. The view for all our guests was not only of a gorgeous flowering arbor, bride and groom, and bridal party, but also the green grass of the knoll, the blue from the lake down below, the green from the mountains in the background, and the blue from the spotless skies. It was truly a dream setting. Our guests all wanted a piece of the scenery…we couldn’t get them to leave the location after the ceremony for cocktail hour! The reception down at the barn was just as jaw dropping. The rustic feel off the wooden beams across the ceiling, and openness of the dance floor created an atmosphere for such special, touching moments and supreme celebration. The Mountain Top team does have some areas where they can improve, however. Their communication and their documentation is not at the level one would expect it to be. Over the year of preparation, we had to work hard to pull emails from our coordinator and florist (we chose to use Meadow’s Edge right on site). We had a coordinator change just a few months before our wedding. But numerous times documentation as well as the coordinator didn’t have answers for the real details in the decisions. Often times we were told different things by different people by different documents. These comments aren’t intended to scare anyone looking forward to getting married here, but should be used as preparation. Our wedding day was perfect, but we would certainly recommend being very meticulous and document everything. Make sure you really comb through all the documents carefully as you make your decisions and really think about all the little details. Have as many meetings as you need to make sure you understand everything, and have everything written in email. Again, this isn’t intended to scare anyone, just a heads up. One thing is for sure…things will run smoothly, we are confident of that. The day-of execution of the venue is truly top notch. We are overjoyed with the perfect wedding we had at Mountain Top. Our friends and families cannot stop talking about the weekend, especially the food! The food was delicious, from the passed hors’devours to the entrees. The portion sizes were impressive, and each table was served their sit down meals all together. We can’t tell you how many people have gone out of their way to tell us that this was the most beautiful and best wedding they have ever been to. We love Mountain Top and we can’t wait to come back and visit. Reviewed on 14-08-2023

MK Freedman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-03-2023 My now husband and I were set on planning a rustic yet elegant Winter wedding in 2023. We began the venue search in January 2022 across Vermont, New Hampshire, and even parts of Massachusetts (our home state) and found a few venues that seemed like they would work. Before ever even making it up to visit The Mountain Top Inn we originally began the contracting process with a different VT venue (slightly closer to MA) and the experience was a nightmare. They had a poorly written contract with contradicting clauses, they were inflexible to customize aspects of their menus/bar packages/more, and the staff was a nightmare to work with. In early April 2022, without entering into contract, we went our separate ways feeling really discouraged and turned off by the entire wedding industry. My now husband headed up the venue search again and brought me a handful of options-- The Mountain Top Inn was one of them. From the moment we first spoke with Khele the Mountain Top Inn was different. People were kind, the views were immaculate, and the possibility of us having the wedding of our dreams began to re-materialize. The experience was like night and day. From our initial tour, to helping us arrange a visit with our parents for the tasting, to helping customize every inch of our wedding the staff at the Mountain Top Inn were the type of team you dream of getting to work with for your wedding. Our chief concern about the Mountain Top Inn was how many weddings they do a year -- we didn't want to feel like our wedding was just another event being turned out of a machine. While the Mountain Top Inn is certainly a well-oiled machine our wedding was completely us -- there was opportunity to customize at every step. The events team are all truly experts in their craft and because of their team the process of planning the event was nearly as much fun as actually hosting it in March 2023. Chelsea did an excellent job caring for us and our event for nearly a year as a wedding coordinator. She helped us think through big and small decisions, helped us stay on track, and gave us really great advice. The week of our wedding the photographer we hired called us to let us know that she tested positive with COVID and would be unable to make our wedding. We were devastated. We called our day-of-coordinator, Jen, who offered to help us hit the ground running to source a new photographer in a week. Which is unheard of. Thankfully the photographer had a back up option for us, but Jen's can-do attitude was the perfect antidote for the stress of what could have been. We even had guests ask us if she was for hire for their upcoming weddings due to the flawless job she did at our event. We truly can't say enough positive things about our experience working with The Mountain Top Inn-- if you are considering this venue for your wedding I can't recommend them highly enough. If I could give more than 5 stars above I would. Reviewed on 20-03-2023
Delaney Donovan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-11-2022 If you're looking for a wedding venue that has: stunning spaces inside and out, a team that does an immaculate job, and amazing lodging accommodations for your guests, then book Mountain Top NOW! It is by far the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. Reminiscing on our 11/4/22 wedding, here are some highlights:Our wedding guests could not stop raving about the venue. Many, many guests told us it west the most beautiful venue they've ever been to. We loved how beautiful Mountain Top is inside and out, down to every single house and cabin and inn room on the property. Many of our guests could stay on the property, which we LOVED. My college friends had their own house, my husband's cousins had their own houses, the bridal party had their own houses, etc. It was SO convenient, everything is right there, and it gives you a destination wedding type feel, which we really wanted. There are even shuttles to bring your guests around the property all weekend. Additionally, if some people don't want to stay on the property (or if it books up) we definitely recommend using the Best Western Rutland and Tri State Transportation to get your guests to the venue, about a 15 minute drive. The food was awesome! It had been so good at the food tasting that we worried there was no way it would measure up on wedding day, but it did. Many of our guests raved about the food, and the venue was very accommodating with allergies and preferences.Gayle, who is the florist that you have the option to book through the venue, is amazingly talented and also affordable. Communication with her can be delayed as she does handle many weddings, but if you continue to reach out she will happily help you. I wasn't overly worried about florals so this didn't bother me, but I know it can be tough for some. That weekend, though, Gayle and her team did just an impeccable job, and I didn't have to worry about a thing in terms of set up and clean up.Lastly, the entire MTI staff is UNREAL. We worked with Chelsea for the majority of our wedding planning time, and I always felt supported and prepared by working with her. Even leading up to the final crunch time, I never doubted MTI's ability to pull my dream wedding off seamlessly, and they did. Seriously, nothing went wrong the entire weekend, from the rehearsal to welcome party to wedding to day after brunch. The team works so hard to make your dreams come true. Even the bartending staff - my guests could not stop raving about them. Ian & Heather were the BEST!I could truly go on and on and on. Getting married at Mountain Top exceeded all of our wildest wedding dreams and far surpassed any hope and expectation. We can't wait to celebrate anniversaries here for years to come. Courtney Schrader(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2022 Wow, where to start? First, the headline: Mountaintop Inn and Resort staff are artists and their medium: Weddings. A big part of both our choice of Mountain Top and our satisfaction with that decision was just how incredible everyone is at creating unforgettable events there. Straight up magic, I tell you. From the very beginning, Khele thoughtfully answered the many questions that arose from considering an out-of-state, destination wedding and was immensely helpful. Once we moved on to the planning phase, we couldn’t have asked for a better Coordinator than Cassie! Through all of the easy and not-so-easy decisions, Cassie was endlessly understanding and kind. She kept us on track and made sure we met all of the important timeline milestones. There were so many aspects that we just weren’t sure about that she was willing to walk us through and we so appreciated that - having someone calm and assured by our side for all of the uncertainties. In fact, we felt like Cassie was our co-creator in the end, one for whom we will be forever grateful. From the rehearsal through each hour of our big day, she had everything transitioning smoothly and we ended up feeling like we had extra time at different stages! We had time to soak everything in, just the two of us, in the gazebo after the ceremony and Cassie made it possible for us to fulfill the hope we had mentioned of having a chance to enjoy the hors d’oeuvres we’d picked out (and that had our stomachs rumbling in anticipation).Every item of food was delectable - the passed hors d’oeuvres, entrées, and even the salad we chose were all, impossibly, melt-in-your-mouth-level delicious. Our friends and family have since raved about their food journeys and each of us send our compliments to the chef! The staff even went out of their way to make sure a meal was delivered to a family member who ended up feeling ill and was unable to partake in the festivities. We didn’t have to ask - they just took care of it. It’s those little details that set Mountain Top apart from other venues. All of those special touches made it that much more enchanting. Everything turned out above and beyond what we’d hoped for and that’s maybe the best compliment we could offer - that Mountain Top gave us our dream wedding. To Gayle, our many thanks for the gorgeous decor and greenery. From my wildflower bouquet to the tabletop centerpieces, your skill at your craft was plain to see and it all came together beautifully!Oh, and the backdrop? Breathtaking. The mountains, hills, and reservoir are unbelievably picturesque. Like an elixir for the eyes, it’s the kind of view that makes everything that came before seem like a warm up for the real thing. Spectacular! Mountain Top was everything a couple could wish for in a wedding venue and yet so much more - if you’re looking for amazing views, brilliant staff, and an unbelievable experience, this is the venue or getaway for you! Grace Stone(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2022 We had a lovely wedding! Mountain Top Inn is just gorgeous. I refer to it as a wedding factory or a college campus for weddings, but in the best way possible. This is because they have pretty much everything you need right at the site which is perfect. All of the guest houses/lodge rooms are comfortable and nice! The food was absolutely delicious ( I even had a few of my guests who are chef's, raving about it) and overall between the ceremony at the knoll, to cocktail hour at the tavern area, to the reception in the barn, everything flowed smoothly! I cannot speak highly enough about the florist either, all of the bouquets and boutineers were just stunning and everything that I had dreamed of. Finally, Cassie, SHE IS WONDERFUL!!! Cassie was my coordinator through the venue and I was even lucky enough to have her as my 'day of' coordinator because of how busy the venue was! Our coordinator, Carly, was incredibly helpful and made sure that every detail was exactly how we envisioned it. But lets back up- we booked the day TWO YEARS prior and despite being two years out- we were immediately connected to a planner. Our planner Chelsea was with us from day one and was always so communicative, patient and supportive. One of our favorite things about getting married at Mountain Top was having a excuse to visit the beautiful place numerous times over the planning process. We've stayed in the Inn, the cabins and houses on the property- all of which are clean, comfortable and beautiful! The wedding weekend was truly a dream- we had over 100 guests staying on property and everyone had the time of their lives. The rehearsal dinner down at the lake was picturesque, well run and food was delicious. The photo-ops are gorgeous and the vibes are casual yet elevated - a chic Vermont summer camp dream! Saturday, our wedding day was even better. Everything was setup exactly as discussed, everything ran on time thanks to our incredible day-of coordinator Rachel, the food was amazing. I could go on and on! Truly not one thing went wrong- all expectations were exceeded and now we get to have Mountain Top as our special place forever. Our guests can not stop saying that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The VIEWS cannot be beat and the way MTI runs a event is the perfect mix of elegant, casual and comfortable. 11/10 would recommend! Kelsey S(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-09-2021 My husband and I just got married here earlier this month and it was AMAZING!! We had another venue and postponed from 2020. We learned earlier this year that our original venue was not anticipating being able to do weddings this year so we were scrambling. We ended up here with a Monday wedding and it was such a blessing in disguise. This wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. For starters, the venue and hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Food delicious and staff amazing. We were lucky enough to work with Cassie through most of our planning. She was so gracious, professional and helpful. She answered our 1,000 questions promptly, provided guidance, options and offered to look into some of our ideas that they hadn't done before. She ensured we were in touch with a linen company etc. We then got assigned Penny and Heather for our day of coordinators and they were fantastic. They took care of every detail and prioritized making my husband and I relax and enjoy our day. We knew that they had it covered. It was such a relief. We cannot wait to go back for future anniversaries and hopefully friends' weddings one day. Although our wedding was on a Monday, they never made us feel that we were any less important. And our guests certainly partied like it was a weekend. We haven't stopped getting compliments on how wonderful, fun and beautiful the wedding day was. We also worked with Gayle from their on site florist, Meadows Edge, and wow! Knowing that she works with this venue all the time was such a relief. And her work is beautiful! We loved the Jackson Vine greenery over the dance floor, drapes at the dance floor corners and simple greenery on our farm tables. She worked with us to create a centerpiece that we had seen on Pinterest. And our bouquets were stunning! Definitely recommend her! A few recommendations I would make to future brides are: 1) Figure out lodging with your families and wedding guests asap. We only set aside the homes we knew that we wanted as well as each set of parents. From there we communicated with our wedding parties and close friends and family what was available and to book asap if they wanted to stay on site. We then let all other guests figure it out. We did not set up a room block. 2) Brent at Tri State Transportation was fantastic and knows MTI well. He shuttled our remaining guests from the Best Western 3) Don't be afraid to advocate for what you envision for your timeline. Our team worked with us to make sure everything flowed exactly how we wanted. Ask any questions you have about process or timeline up front so that on wedding day you don't need to think about it 4) If you have specific wants and desires for your floral, speak up and send pictures. Have a call with Gayle. She was very receptive and paid attention to the details Reviewed on 30-09-2021

MaryAlice Hennessey(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2021 We cannot recommend the Mountain Top Inn & Resort enough! Planning for my daughter's wedding started in June 2019 and we planned for an August 2020 wedding. As you might guess, it was postponed due to the pandemic and rescheduled for June 6, 2021. Our wedding coordinator, Chelsea, was amazing. She stayed in contact with us through all the various options we had to work through to have the event eventually happen. We would give them 5 stars just for the support they gave to us during that difficult time. They were even very flexible in allowing us to cancel with no penalty if hit wasn't going to work out- but my daughter was determined to have her party! When we finally got to the wedding celebration weekend (my daughter and her husband got married in 8/20 in front of 11 people)- everything was absolutely perfect. From the lodging to the activities onsite to the wedding events, everything went better than any of us dreamed. Chelsea worked with Carly (our onsite coordinator for the weekend) to finish the weekend planning and Carly was so easy to work with- she guided us through all of the events and activities and if there were any issues- we had no idea they happened!! We all relaxed and had the best wedding celebration ever!! The barn venue was magical. The florist on-site (Meadows Edge) was absolutely the best and we really felt like they cared about everything we were planning. We also used the dj that normally does their events (Top Hat) and Mark was so enthusiastic and helpful. We can't wait to see the pictures from Beach Photography who does a lot of weddings there. The resort made it so easy to plan a wedding there- they either provided the services directly or had a team of referrals that were tried and true. Planning a destination wedding is very challenging, and Chelsea and Carly really made it as easy on us as possible. Thank you so much to everyone at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort- you came through an unbelievably challenging time with flying colors, and we wish you so much luck and success with your future business. Too bad we couldn't afford to do another wedding celebration next year! We'd do it there in a heartbeat. Emily Becker(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-05-2022 Let me start off by saying MTI as a venue is absolutely stunning. Our guests were blown away by the beauty, the house we rented was gorgeous, they handled my food allergy needs flawlessly, and our day of coordinator Heather was very nice. Other than that our wedding and wedding planning was pretty rocky so much so that we had to hire an outside wedding planner because we did not trust our wedding would turn out the way we wanted it to be.There were a lot of miscommunications from the very beginning from the sales team telling us a date was available (then the manager calling me frantically to tell me it was not) to the wedding planning team not understanding how we wanted our bar structured (prepay a certain dollar amount and bill on consumption) to the florist randomly calling my mother (we have no clue how she got her phone number) to talk about our floral needs. It was all extremely stressful and chaotic. On the day of our wedding we hired the horse carriage as our exit. The carriage dropped us off at the Main Inn as all our guest were at the knoll waiting for us to take photos even though the horse was supposed to drop us back off at the knoll. As a result we got next to no photos with the horse (and a very disappointed flower girl) and we had to get into our privately hired wedding planner's car to be driven back up to the knoll. When Heather and our privately hired wedding coordinator went to go talk to the horse person they were told the horse doesn't like doing the carriage and he wouldn't be coming back out. The florist for Mountain Top got our floral completely wrong (despite us sending a photo that we wanted replicated) and our privately hired wedding planner had to physically bring all the bouquets and corsages back down to their studio to have it redone hours before our wedding. Again MTI is stunning, we loved the venue, Heather was great, and I didn't get sick from my severe food allergy but had we not hired an outside wedding planner I have no clue how our day would have turned out. Natasha Groblewski(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-05-2021 As you can see from the photos, Mountain Top is an incredible place for your wedding, but their service, support, and professionalism in delivering our perfect wedding are far more amazing. As if planning a wedding isn't hard enough, doing so during a pandemic with state and federal guidelines changing every month made things that much crazier, but Mountain Top's staff were with us every step of the way to ensure our wedding and all the events around it (fishing, lawn games, rehearsal dinner by the beach, frisbee golf, clay pigeon shooting, etc.) were complete successes! When we couldn't make their scheduled tasting dates, they arranged a private one instead! Chelsea was super fast and thorough in answering our endless emails with numerous planning questions for months. Gayle in the floral department was so easy to work with leading up to our big weekend, and when we got to see her arrangements and creativity on our actual weekend, we were blown away. As our event got close, Carly took over for Chelsea seamlessly. Once we arrived, Carly was a ROCK STAR for the 5 days we were there. She was on top of everything and when surprises arose (as they do in all weddings), she kept us calm, quickly resolved the issues, and ensured our experience, and that of our guests, were never impacted. Beyond these superb ladies, the rest of Mountain Top's staff were also very kind, polite, and professional. All of the ammenities and activites are a blast. The setting cannot be beat. Meaghan Montgomery(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-08-2020 Hi! We were married at MTI on 8/17/20 and had a wonderful experience. Our review had to be shortened due to character limits... so we’ll try to pack in as much as possible. Bottom line, our wedding was amazing - even during a pandemic. After inquiring online, we were sent a complimentary overnight in their best suite! We visited in Feb ‘19 and instantly fell in Iove. It is.. stunning. The venue size is expansive yet quaint - never feeling crowded. The vibe is authentic Vermont. After one overnight, dinner, a massage, and a tour.. we knew this was it. Because we were so at ease, we turned a quick visit into a romantic getaway. After locking in our June ‘20 date, we began working with Cassie. She is the best! Proactive, professional, and friendly. We planned a Knoll/Barn wedding and a welcome party. Our biggest draw to MTI was that everything was on-site. We could host a wedding weekend without leaving the property – maximizing time with guests. The January ‘20 Tasting event was amazing. The food, vendors, and decor options helped us visualize our day. Our vendors were The Linen Shop, Dorset Bakery, Meadows Edge Floral, Prime Salon, Silver Arrow Band (we cancelled due to Covid) and Sam Bufalo Photography. All talented ladies we highly recommend. When Covid hit in March, MTI acted quickly to develop a backup plan. We moved our date to August ’20 and drastically decreased our guest list. MTI was great - never swaying us but arming us with info and support. We went from 120 to 15 guests: immediate family only. Our reception shifted from The Barn to The Jewel. On the wedding morning, the guys went skeet shooting while the girls went on a boat tour. It was easy to plan an activity before getting ready. Before our ceremony, it started to rain so Cassie leapt into action with backup options. As we decided whether or not to brave the rain, the shuttle picked up our guests with umbrellas. When the sun peeked out, we decided to head to The Knoll. Cassie radioed the MTI staff and they ran out to the wood benches with squeegees and towels! We were so impressed with their flexibility and attentiveness. Even with 15 guests and a blue tooth radio - the ceremony was seamless.. made more memorable and symbolic by the sun that followed the rain. The reception kicked off at the Jewel. The 1st floor had been transformed into our venue! The deck was our app station/dance floor. The dining room was our bar/dinner buffet, and in the living room sat a 16’ long dining table. The staff was amazing at flipping the space - all done contact-less. We enjoyed cocktail hour outside while the chef finalized the dinner buffet inside. Once ready, the staff left and we ventured in. The food... was incredible. Alone with family – the evening felt safe, relaxed, and intimate. While dancing outside that night, the staff came back to flip the space and clean (in record time). The night ended downstairs, lounging and playing pool. A day we will cherish forever. We even stayed another night (our 4th) to kick off our honeymoon. MTI will forever be special to us. We plan to visit for years to come. Even though we drastically changed our event size, MTI never made us feel like it was less important. The staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. If you are considering this as your wedding venue, we highly recommend it. Thanks to everyone at MTI, especially Cassie. Your talent and kindness brought our day to fruition. We’ll cherish these memories for a lifetime. Reviewed on 20-11-2020

Mountain Top Inn deserves the long, detailed review I tried to write twice now, but the site has thwarted my efforts, so I'll have to sum it up for the time being.... 5 out of 5 stars for sure - Perfect Vermont Wedding Venue. We used them for ceremony and reception. The Knoll was picturesque Vermont - overlooking mountains and a beautiful little lake. The barn was great for the reception - offered a wonderful backdrop that you could either dress \"up\" for elegance, \"down\" for cute rustic vibes, or a mix of both. We got married on a Monday (my grandparent's wedding anniversary), so it fit into our budget - site fees were waived and we got a larger discount on housing and food. The guests didn't even mind a Monday wedding like we thought they might, so if you LOVE this venue but are on a tight budget, I would suggest a weekday wedding so you don't have to compromise location. The \"day-of\" coordinator that is included is PRICELESS. I put it in quotes because Kelsey, our coordinator, went well beyond day-of. She made herself available for questions and guidance the full year and a half leading up to the day, and when we got there for the rehearsal, took everything into her hands. We dropped of all DIY/bought items (even a couple that still required some assembly) and that was it - on the actual wedding day, my husband and I had little to nothing to worry about - we showed up and everything was ready for us! Afterwards, they broke everything down, cleaned up, and left anything we might want to take home (flowers, extra desserts, everything we provided) in an easy pick up spot. High praise and recommendations for Mountain Top. If you still need convincing though, reach out for more info from them and they will likely offer a free night stay with your tour so you can see for yourself. That night stay is what sold us (wake up to see the sun rise over the lake, if you like that kind of thing), and we are SO thankful we went to check it out. Reviewed on 16-07-2019
Tricia Price(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2018 From the moment we got engaged I had dreamed of getting married at the Mountain Top Inn. We had planned on a destination wedding that was small (only 30 guests) and this was the perfect place to make my dream wedding come true. It was an amazing weekend! Cassie (our coordinator) was very attentive to any questions I had along the way and brought everything together at the end. The weather was not really cooperating, but we still managed to carry out our outdoor ceremony on The Knoll, with horse/carriage ride, family pictures in the Barn, reception on the beach at the Lakeside Pavilion. I wanted to give my guests the full experience of the property. My kids loved it there. The staff are so friendly, kind and go above and beyond to make everyone happy. The food is AMAZING!! The views are AMAZING!! I can't say enough about this place. I would recommend MTI to anyone looking to get married in VT. We will definitely go back often for anniversaries. Reviewed on 14-10-2018
Kate Walter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2018 From the moment my fiance and I stepped on the property to see if it would be a good site to host our Oct. wedding, we fell in love with Mountain Top. From the incredible landscape, the view from the outdoor ceremony site, the amenable staff, the rustic reception venue...it was everything we imagined and more. We were planning our wedding from Florida, and Cassie (our wedding planner at Mountain Top) made this a breeze. All of our guests couldn't stop commenting on what a wonderful experience they'd had. We had an absolutely perfect wedding day and we can't wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary here as well! Reviewed on 09-10-2018

Mountain Top Inn & Resort was my dream wedding location. And on the day of my wedding I was not disappointed. Everything about the venue was absolutely amazing and went perfectly. The food was delicious, the flowers looked incredible and the ceremony up on the knoll was breathtaking. The fact that everything was on site (rehearsal, ceremony, reception) was a huge benefit and made it so easy for guests. The only negative thing was the lack of clarity around pricing for lodging. What was shown on the website ended up being considerably less than what we ended up having to pay. I would encourage anyone considering booking rooms to get an exact quote for price of rooms as it seems that prices fluctuate considerably based on season and day of the week. However, everything else was so incredible it makes up for confusion around price of rooms ten-fold, which is why I still rated Mountain Top Inn & Resort 5 stars. It is such a special place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get married in Vermont. Reviewed on 29-09-2018
Kurt Bennett(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-07-2018 I could absolutely not say enough about Mountain Top. I'll start with what should be fairly apparent from photos: the location is amazing, from the views on the knoll to the fact that their rain location also has amazing views (so nice not to have to worry about weather too much!), to the fact that everyone can stay on-site--it's phenomenal. The latter was especially cool, as seeing your family and friends around the property all weekend, having your reception dinner down at the beach, then being able to walk from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the dinner, all made the weekend feel special and unique. But, as I actually mentioned in my wedding toast, what we weren't ready for, and what I want to highlight here, are the people who are there and the atmosphere they create. Caitlin, our wedding coordinator, was phenomenal, involved while still giving us our space, completely prepared and professional to the point we didn't even realize we hadn't worried about anything related to organization until after the wedding was over (did I mention the wedding coordinator is included in your rental?). The staff was relaxed but on top of it, the wait staff was awesome, the whole place has a very chill-but-amazingly-nice vibe to it (free rentals of paddle boards, lawn game equipment, etc.). I walked away appreciating the people we worked with more than the view, and that's saying a lot. I could go on and on about how great Mountain Top is, but I promise you, make this the first decision with your wedding like we did, and you won't regret it. Reviewed on 23-09-2018

Emily Snow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-07-2018 My husband and I could not be happier with how magical our wedding was at the Mountain Top Inn and Resort. From the very beginning of the planning, our wedding coordinator, Caitlin Layne was detail oriented, enthusiastic, and never missed an email or phone call. We felt sure that our wedding would be exactly what we wanted because she was in constant touch with us, running options by us and giving us recommendations when we asked for them. The Mountain Top Inn's grounds are simply stunning. From the lake you can swim in, to the horses you can ride, the delicious restaurant, various lawn games outside, and gorgeous homes to rent, it was perfect for a gathering. We had our ceremony outside at the Knoll, which provides a breathtaking back drop for your vows. We had our reception in the barn and used the Mountain Top's florist for all of our flowers, Dorset Rising for the desserts, and Blush Salon for hair, make up, and nails. All of the vendors worked seamlessly with each other and there were no worries or concerns at all.I would highly recommend this venue for anyone who loves the outdoors and mountains. We had family come from near and far and many people stayed for several days, keeping busy with the many activities on the property. We will be coming back time and time again as it is beautiful in all seasons and a great location in Vermont. Reviewed on 21-08-2018
Chelsea Bachand(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-07-2018 My husband and I celebrated our wedding at The Mountain Top Inn and Resort just a little over a month ago. We had our ceremony at Christ the King Church and held the cocktail hour and reception at The Mountain Top Barn. Since that day, I haven’t stopped looking at our pictures and reliving this magical day! The Mountain Top Inn and Resort is the perfect location for a rustic Vermont wedding. Our wedding Coordinator, Cassie, was such a pleasure to work with over the last year. She answered every question I had, my family had and my husband’s family had with professionalism, genuine care and concern. With all the weddings Mountain Top has, you would have NEVER known she had other brides that she was taking care of. She and her team took care of everything from measuring the window sills in the Barn for lanterns and decorations, to offering her own hair and time for a hair pre-trial, from organizing hors d'oeuvres and drinks to be sent to our photo location, to delivering our wedding gifts and cards to our room for the night. I truly can’t thank her enough and I know we’ll stay in touch! The pictures on here truly don’t do this venue justice. Take a minute to search their location or hashtag on Facebook and Instagram. If you’re a bride to be- once you see the views, guests living it up during cocktail hour, bride and grooms looking head over heels in love, you’ll begin to see yourself, your family and friends in those photos. No matter the season or time of year, Mountain Top feels like the most magical place on earth. While cell service is limited, it turned out to be a blessing to have some time to unplug with family and friends and truly enjoy the day. My last recommendation would be to stay a few extra days on either end to really enjoy the amenities Mountain Top has to offer, as well. We reserved guest houses for close family and friends and blocked off hotel rooms for additional guests. The guest houses were absolutely stunning and definitely worth the money! Be sure to organize in advance, which house will be hosting the rehearsal and wedding after parties!I loved everything about our wedding day and the service Mountain Top provided, was truly priceless. I can’t wait to come back and relive all these wonderful memories. Thank you Mountain Top!!! Reviewed on 11-08-2018

Lindsay Felix(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-03-2018 We got married 3/10/18 at the Mountain Top Inn. It was a fairytale. We wanted a winter wedding and snow fell the entire weekend. We held all events - welcome party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all on the property and everything was awesome. We are STILL hearing from guests about how phenomenal the food was (we offered prime rib and salmon). The service was great down to little things like needed help shoveling snow, they were there. Our guests loved how attentive the bartenders were throughout the weekend (huge deal for weddings - usually the main complaint I have). The details were ironed out with Chelsea our planner throughout the last few months before the wedding and they excited everything down to my very last note about what I wanted where. Chelsea + The Mountain Top Inn, Thank you so much for helping to make our wedding weekend one we will cherish forever. We also used Meadow's Edge, the on-site floral team, for our florals. Gayle and her staff did an UNBELIEVABLE job. She took everything I asked for and turned it into something out of a magazine. I am extremely picky about florals and she listened to my every worry and need. Especially considering it was March and there was no local florals to be had. From the months of planning to the day after the wedding, we were well taken care of. We had Cassie as our coordinator and she did everything she could to make sure we had the best experience, and we did!!! It is not cheap getting married at such an amazing place, with amazing views, but they have so many options to help you save money. We chose a Friday wedding which helped us out tremendously off the bat, and on top of that they have so many different packages to help you stay on budget and still feel like your having the most amazing wedding ever! The venue was worth every penny spent, the views are unbelievable, they have all the amenities you could need, and the staff are all so kind and welcoming, I felt like a princess all weekend long! We are not from Vermont so we didn't know where to begin with choosing vendors so we chose to use all the vendors suggested by the Mountain Top Inn, and they were all amazing, and Cassie helped by work closely with all of them which took a huge burden off my shoulders. Meaghan Sutton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-08-2017 My husband and I couldn’t be happier with our wedding at Mountain Top Inn! Below is a long list of all that we loved:Location: Mountain Top Inn (MTI) is in a beautiful location. There are many places to take photos (down by the water, in the woods, etc). The facilities are spotless and well maintained (outdoor flowers are gorgeous.) We felt right at home. We had our rehearsal and the beach pavilion, ceremony at the knoll, cocktail hour by the pool, reception in the barn, and after party (with chicken tenders and tots) in the tavern. Food: The food is delicious. We had several people say it was the best wedding meal they have ever had. For the rehearsal we had the backyard BBQ (mac and cheese, salad, and corn bread still stand out in my mind.) For the cocktail hour, we had passed watermelon & feta, mac and cheese bites, chicken and waffle bites, and asparagus wrapped with prosciutto. For the reception we had the lemon statler chicken, prime rib, and maple salmon. We got our cupcakes from Dellveneri Bakery in Rutland (great price and tasty!) The wine and beer selection is wonderful too – great crowd pleasers. Staff: The staff is lovely (from the front desk to the waiters) We have to give a special shout-out to our coordinator, Ashley. Ashley is amazing! If she is your coordinator, then you have no worries on your wedding day. She is extremely thoughtful, organized, attentive. She kept us feeling relaxed throughout the weekend. Thank you, Ashley! (for those who don't know - the tip form your bill does not include your coordinator. Please tip your coordinator separately. They work so hard to make your big day special!)How we chose MTI: choosing your venue is hard. Here is how we chose MTI. We wanted the following in our venue choice: scenic, good lodging on site (some venues we saw had great food but shabby lodging), great food, outdoor activities for guests (our families love the outdoors), and easy to work with staff. Mountain Top Inn (MTI) had all of this; however, we were worried about budget. MTI helped us see our options based on our estimated 80 head count (we ended up with 69 final head count.) We found we could have our dream wedding on a weekday and we chose Monday (this was a new concept to us but worked out perfectly!) This allowed the family to come up and relax for the weekend, have our rehearsal on the Sunday, and the wedding on the Monday. MTI’s professionalism and quality was AMAZING. One tip would be to book your rooms/guest houses as soon as possible once you’ve started the contract process. We were waiting on our first coordinator to give us the green light on our contract and ended up missing out on the guest house we wanted to stay in (thankfully we got a new coordinator soon after and she was WONDERFUL! Also, the guest house we ended up in was lovely.) My other tip would be to go to the Wooden Barrel for breakfast sandwiches and quick meals – our families love a good breakfast sandwich. Heather Densmore(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-12-2017 I cannot say enough great things about Mountain Top Inn! We fell in love with this place from our first visit checking out wedding venues. When you walk in it immediately feels warm, cozy and romantic. The views are absolutely stunning and I love the rustic Vermont feel of everything. We barely did any decor for our winter wedding as the natural scenery is just so beautiful not much else is needed. We did our ceremony outside on the terrace and we were provided with space heaters and blankets on the benches for guests which was such a nice touch. Caitlin was our coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! I had so many questions throughout the entire process and must have sent her a hundred emails, but she was so great and had an answer for everything I needed. The rehearsal and wedding day were flawless and stress free. Caitlin took care of absolutely everything from set up, to keeping things running smoothly and on time, and taking everything down the next day. We didn't have to worry about anything which I am so grateful for. Our wedding flew by so quickly, so getting to fully enjoy it was very much appreciated! We also loved their onsite services such as Meadow's Edge Floral. We worked with Gayle at Meadow's Edge for all our florals and decor and she did an amazing job! I was SO happy to see the results on our wedding day. The bouquets were absolutely beautiful and the garlands for the arbor and the farmhouse tables were perfect! They also have a great selection of candles, lanterns and other decor items that we used! The amount of candles needed ended up being cheaper to rent through Meadows Edge than purchasing ourselves, and all the set up / take down was done for us so it was totally stress free just like everything else! We had people coming from all over the globe including US, France, India and Canada and unanimously they all loved the venue and still rave about it! The location is absolutely GORGEOUS, and the accommodations (chalets or rooms in the main building) are beautiful and fun. We had about 70 guests and had 2 ceremonies: an Indian ceremony on Sunday night in the Jewel chalet with a tent set up right in front, which ended up being open (no walls) as we had such a perfect weather, and a Western ceremony on the grass at the knoll with the beautiful lake and mountains in the back, with the reception in the barn. We had a great experience, MTI made it look super easy - they are used to having weddings and a lot of thoughts have been put into any aspects that you can't even think of to make your big day is perfect. We had great weather but even the backup rain location would have been nice with view on the lake and mountains. Our MTI venue coordinator was Chelsea and she was professional, responsive and effective. Honestly our skills at organizing are not the best and it was a relief to be in such capable hands taking care of the all the logistics. We used mainly vendors that were already familiar with the venue and all had great reviews - again this made it very easy. We had :- Idena Beach Photography for photos/videos - a top notch experience with talented photographers and great people! (Idena and Mike) - see my separate detailed review- Top Hat Entertainment for music (ceremony and reception) and lights (reception). They were eager to play the music we gave them which included French and Indian songs- Meadows Edge Floral (MTI on site florist/decorator) - Gayle has been great to work with and eager to customize decoration for an Indian Mandap, she made beautiful arrangements that we could use for both ceremonies during the 2 days- Vermont Tent Company - Briana was great to work with and very responsive- MTI caterer for the main reception - here also they were flexible and we had a mix of dishes that were \"standard\" choices and custom Indian dishes- Guru the Caterer for the Indian ceremony food the day before - great food- MTI Spa for hair and makeup - hair was beautifully done although didn't last very long (could have used more pins?) and makeup was beautifully done. Thanks MTI for the great venue and the best wedding week-end! MTI is so accustomed to doing weddings that the staff account for every tiny little detail and are very receptive to the ideas that the bride and groom bring in. We had three different coordinators over 15 months because of 2 coordinators leaving, which was frustrating from the perspective of continuity, but MTI was gracious about making sure everything was taken care of. Our final coordinator was Cassie and she was wonderful - very detail oriented, understanding, timely, and kind. Cassie answered all of our questions and was incredibly helpful (and patient!) with us and our families the whole weekend. We did a welcome party at the beach the night before - it was really great and with the separate spaces, you don't feel if there's another wedding going on. The wedding day went so smoothly; MTI helped with shuttling us around and attending to all the tiny details on our schedule and for our decorations. The wait staff also made sure that my husband and I had drinks and/or food and were comfortable and happy throughout the event. (And our welcome event the night before!) Our shuttle bus driver was so accommodating as well and drove as late as we needed. I would say there were hardly any negatives about the venue, but we didn't anticipate how many outside vendors we were going to need and some of the extra rental costs we would incur along the way, but as we were planning the wedding, the mountain top were very clear and helpful about the budget and what we would need for our dream wedding (I think we were just a little green to the process as well but how many wedding planning experience does a person have?! haha). They also have a list of preferred vendors which can be helpful or a little tricky to manage as there are certain set up things that they would only do with their preferred vendors. We used some of their vendors and some of our own and it was perfect. The Mountain Top is just breathtaking and honestly can't be beat. Katie Edkins(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2016 We got married at The Mountain Top Inn in September, and it was absolutely beautiful. We chose it because we wanted a venue that (1) was in the VT / NH area, (2) had a pretty space for an indoor reception, and (3) had room for most of the guests to stay onsite, and The Mountain Top checked all of those boxes! While we had some issues with the Mountain Top staff throughout the process in terms of \"being on top of stuff,\" we were able to work with them to figure it all out and the day came together very nicely. One thing to know is that The Mountain Top does a ton of weddings, especially in their prime Fall season, and often have multiple weddings per weekend. (Our week in mid-September, we had the Saturday wedding, and the Mountain Top had other weddings on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday of that week.) If something like that bothers you, I would say you might want to look elsewhere, but if not The Mountain Top makes for a beautiful setting, and you can really use their Barn reception space as a \"blank slate\" to decorate how you want. We loved the beautiful setting, the very helpful and friendly staff, our amazing coordinator, Bethany, and the entire weekend of activities around the wedding. We used the Mountain Aire Lodge for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and moved down to the nearby tent for the reception and we loved the venue. It was nicely secluded from the rest of the resort and we felt like we had the place to ourselves in the forest! It was so fun having family stay in the houses on the property for the weekend - there are so many activities to do there. Every one of our guests raved about the amazing time they had. The food for the rehearsal dinner BBQ, cocktail hour, and reception was excellent. We really appreciated their flexibility with the menu and accommodating dietary restrictions. We can't say enough good things about this place! I think the icing on the cake was really the help of the coordinator - Bethany was great at responding to emails leading up to the wedding and was so calming and helpful the day of the event. Mountain Top had always been my dream wedding venue and our entire celebration exceeded every expectation we had. Every member of the staff was amazing and went out of their way to make sure our day was perfect. From the intimate rehearsal dinner we hosted at one of the cottages, to the nail, hair, and makeup services we had at the MTI Spa, each aspect of our wedding was a dream. The food was incredible and many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the food and accommodations. Most importantly, our wedding coordinator, Caitlin, was a rock star! She made sure every detail was taken care of and not only ensured that our wedding planning process was stress free, but also that it was fun. Megan Webster(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-01-2016 We had the most amazing wedding day on 1/8/16. We had visited the resort on a groupon deal two years prior for a birthday trip and fell in love with the place. When we got engaged we did not think that we could make MTIR fit into our budget-friendly wedding, but made the trip from CT to meet with the staff. We ended up choosing a Friday afternoon/evening wedding in January. I was so impressed with their ability to work within our budget. I honestly did not think it would be possible, but they made it happen. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had attended with some of the best food. We did station style food waves to help with our budget and there was PLENTY - everyone (myself included) was so full. Caitlin was an absolute pleasure, and our vendor team worked flawlessly together (El Folio Entertainment and Jaclyn Schmitz Photography).\r\rWe did use the spa which was a lovely space, but would not return if given the choice for hair and/or make-up. We were in a wedding a few months before ours and the hair/make-up team they had was drastically different in quality (and lower in price). We paid over $400 with tip for my wife and I to have our hair and make-up done, which all in all took less than an hour and was not entirely the look we had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, the quality was good, but it was not wedding great. Reviewed on 24-01-2016

Sarah White(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2015 I can not say enough amazing things about the Mountain Top Inn. We had a weekend of wedding festivities for a small wedding and everything was perfect at every step of the way. The staff at the inn are professional and friendly. When you have a wedding here you have a wedding coordinator included, who helps you plan along the way and is there on your rehearsal and wedding day to run everything smoothly. I would not have hired a coordinator if I had a wedding elsewhere, but boy am I thankful that Chelsea was there for us. She was so reassuring, calm, and organized.\r\rThe inn has large homes in addition to the beautiful main inn building. They have an amazing bard with beautiful mountain views. We had a welcome party and rehearsal dinner catered in one of the large homes we had some family staying in (the mountain aire lodge). They were both great! It was such an amazing venue, it felt like having it at home, but you didn't have to cook or clean up ;) the food was awesome. We had popcorn with a toppings bar, nachos, sliders, truffle fries and then for the rehearsal, an amazing pasta bar. Seriously delicious, fresh, and the staff presented everything beautifully and kept everything stocked up. \r\rOur wedding itself was outstanding. Chelsea kept everything moving smoothly, the barn looked absolutely gorgeous, and the food and drinks were wonderful. We had a small wedding (about 60) and I was worried it would seem too big. They worked their magic and it seemed like it was meant to host our size wedding. After months of prepping all my things like table signs, escort cards, menus, photo booth and other details, it can be nerve wracking to hand it over for someone else to set up, but honestly they did such a fantastic job. Everything looked straight out of pinterest!!! The space is so versatile, you could have a rustic casual wedding or a black tie affair and they would both seem appropriate. \r\rThere is also a spa onsite, and so many activities at the nordic center. The lake, ski trails, horseback riding make it a great place to have guests enjoy Vermont life. One of my relatives even got engaged on a sleigh ride during the weekend. Our whole wedding was so magical and full of love, and I attribute so much of it to the choice we made when we walked up to MTI a year and a half ago. \r\rOur jaws dropped when we saw this beautiful inn overlooking the Chittenden reservoir for the first time and we thought, there's no way a teacher and a grad student can afford this beautiful venue. But they are so willing to work with you, and the service is so amazing, it is worth it a hundred times over. We easily could have spent the same amount on a back yard wedding! This comes with setup, takedown, a wedding coordinator, an amazing tasting, full waitstaff, tables and chairs, and they provide all the catering from a huge and wonderful menu, bar service, and even the option of hair and makeup through the spa. You just can't beat it. One example of the service at MTI: my grandmother in law went to lunch at the restaurant (also great!) and was sitting near a door/window and was cold. A server brought over a small space heater to put under her table. The caring, professional, and friendly nature of everyone at MTI is what sets it apart. Don't be surprised if you see us back at MTI for holidays and reunions in the many years to come! :) Reviewed on 07-01-2016
Jess Dacones(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-11-2015 If you're in New England and maybe even if you're not, Mountain Top Inn & Resort is the perfect place for a destination wedding. I recently got married there on November 14th, 2015. 130 of our closest friends and family made the 4 hour drive to celebrate for the weekend. We hosted a welcome party, the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and reception all on the MTI's property and I have ZERO complaints about anything. Our wedding planner(s) were attentive, helpful and overall amazing. The food was incredible, for all three of our events as well as the desserts, breakfast and all the tavern food (you have to try the truffle fries in the tavern). It was somewhat costly; however the $26k(ish) we paid was WELL worth the money. This also included the cost for us to rent a vacation rental for three nights, and putting our photographer up for two nights. A wedding at home in RI that ends at a set time can be just as costly if not more. MTI does NOT limit the reception time; however you do have to end by 2am as that's the law in VT. All our guests that decided to stay for two nights all stayed on the property without a hitch. There are local hotels that \"one nighters\" could stay at as well. I would recommend the month of November because it's their only off season month (costs are lower) and if you're having a large wedding, you'll likely take up most of the Inn. Don't hesitate, this place is amazing! Oh and don't forget to google image for pictures, the views are INCREDIBLE. Reviewed on 03-12-2015

We had an awesome experience working with Caitlin, the wedding coordinator from MTI who was paired with us. She helped our day flow seamlessly -- we had absolutely nothing to do on our wedding weekend but show up and get married! The food, while on the expensive side, is delicious. The barn is beautiful, and climate controlled which is great for a hot summer or cold winter event. We had a great time relaxing on the Chittenden Reservoir before our rehearsal dinner, using the Inn's beach, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards to enjoy the water. The chalets and rooms we rented were likewise of very high quality, though again they are on the pricier side. We look forward to celebrating our anniversaries here for years to come! Heather Belmosto(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-07-2015 I had a fabulous wedding week at the Mountain Top Inn. I have not seen many prettier places to get married and our guests were absolutely taken aback by the views. Since both families were coming from a distance away, we made a large family vacation out of the trip for the week leading up to the wedding. Definitely take advantage of all of the amenities that the inn has to offer--kayaking, paddle boarding, pool/hot tub, horseback riding (extra $). The lodge itself is very beautiful, but if you have enough people, definitely stay in the vacation homes. Many people chose to do that and had a wonderful time. I would recommend both Four Pines and Wintergreen for larger families, but by far the best house (with the most amazing view) is the White Birches home where my husband and I stayed for the week. We also had our backyard barbeque for our rehearsal dinner there and the views were amazing--not to mention the 20+ horses that were wandering around the fields behind. Our guests raved about the food, both at the events and while they were staying at the inn. The ceremony was up on the \"knoll\" overlooking the mountains and the water. Not only were the views breathtaking, the landscaping was exquisite as well. Our reception was down at the beach pavilion (only 60 guests), and it was the perfect size and a beautiful location on the water. I would recommend eating in the pavilion and dancing on the deck outside--that way, you have enough space for both. While the ceremony and reception locations are spread out throughout the property, the staff was very quick and accommodating with shuttle rides whenever they were requested. We could not have had a better week there. Thank you! Reviewed on 15-07-2015

We had looked at multiple venues but as soon as we stepped foot on the property we KNEW it was it. The inn was beautiful, the views were amazing, the barn was a perfect place for our wedding, and the accommodations (houses to rent) were above and beyond. We wanted a venue where everything could be in one location and MTI offered all of this and more. We had out of town guests rent houses in groups to save money and make a mini vaca out of our wedding weekend. We were able to get almost 1/2 of our wedding guests to ski at Killington the day before while the others, went xc and sledding at MTI. Now, I am a foodie and was so worried about the food...but it all came out hot and delicious! They set up everything and took it down and i was stress free on my wedding day! We had an outdoor ceremony in March (yes) where it snowed and MTI did an amazing job at working us to get a snow cat for our pictures, a sleigh ride to hold all of the wedding party as the entrance to the ceremony, hot chocolate for the guests, etc. We worked with Jodie and she made sure everything went perfectly and she never let me see her stress as I am sure she knew I would start to stress. Wedding was perfect and Jodie was there every step of the way to ensure our day was PERFECT. Our guests had SO many compliments about the service at MTI; welcoming, friendly, accommodating, etc. Go with MTI if you love that rustic/barn/outdoor venue. Reviewed on 03-06-2015

Shen Lim(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-01-2014 My wife and I got married at the Mountain Top Inn a few months back and it was truly a terrific experience from beginning to end. Chelsea was our wedding coordinator and she was super professional from our first interaction with her. She was super-responsive to our many questions and also proactively made sure we were thinking about details that we needed to think through.\r\rThe wedding weekend itself was terrific. The memory that best exemplifies our experience was after my wife and I went down the sledding hill in our wedding attire. We came back into the lodge invigorated, but cold and covered with snow. The staff had drinks waiting for both of us, a hot toddy for my wife and something called 'liquid fire' for me. That was pretty much how things went the entire time -- really friendly, attentive, and thoughtful service.\r\rThe venue itself is beautiful. We wanted a rustic venue close to nature, but also a place where all our guests could stay on-site and Mountain Top fit that right to a tee. The event barn is a modern space with a rustic feel to it. It can accommodate a few hundred people, but did not feel too large for our wedding of about 90 guests. We had a winter wedding so many of our guests went skiing at Killington which isn't far away, or did cross-country skiing (there are a number of trails on the Mountain Top property). Pretty much everyone took advantage of the sledding hill, since they have sleds available for anyone to use at any time.\r\rA word about food - the food at the actual reception was great, but we were a bit underwhelmed at the tasting. Mountain Top does two tastings a year where they bring together all the couples who are getting married in the upcoming months. This way, you get to taste a wider variety of things, but I think that doing things this way makes quaity control a bit harder. For example, the salmon that was a bit dry at the tasting was perfectly cooked at the reception itself. I guess it's better to have the food come out well at the event than at the tasting, but something to keep in mind. The restaurant at the inn itself is terrific and we had many great meals there.\r\rAnyway, to sum it up, Mountain Top is a beautiful venue in a beautiful setting with really good food and great service. Highly recommended if you're looking for a wedding in a rustic venue without compromising on the creature comforts! Reviewed on 01-06-2014
