This is amazing venue. They are amazing to work with and are open and try to do everything they can within reason or tell you why. This area is so understated and amazing. The only problem is golf carts in the back but didn't even matter and didn't affect the area the wedding took place. Wish more people knew about this AMAZING hidden gem. I loved it and made guest impressed and made the bride feel like a princess.

This is amazing venue. They are amazing to work with and are open and try to do everything they can within reason or tell you why. This area is so understated and amazing. My entire experience with Mt. Woodson castle and the venue staff was amazing! There are some many aspects that made the planning easy, and fun such as the group tasting experience where you can curate your menu, and the production meeting where you can see the options for tablescapes right in front of you. My wedding team was always responsive and helpful during the months leading up to my wedding, and made me feel so special. I truly did not feel stressed during the wedding planning process because of how wonderful Peyton and Kelsey were. They were kind, organized and answered every question I had. My day of coordinator Sophia handled everything and I got to enjoy my day and be completely present. All my guests were in awe at how beautiful and genuinely historic this venue was. The lush fields around and beautiful castle features like the windmill made the day feel like a fairytale. I would definitely recommend choosing this venue and team to help make your day so amazing! Mt Woodson Castle was truly a dream wedding venue.

Words cannot describe how incredible of a wedding we had at Mt. Woodson Castle! Working with Peyton, Kelsey and Sam was the absolute best. I met Peyton over a year ago when we first talked about having our wedding at Mt. Woodson and she made sure we had all the details regarding contracts, payments, tastings, and production. Her and Kelsey were so communicative and always answered my long emails with multiple questions. We had a last minute request for heaters and they easily got those taken care of for us. I do have to give a special shout out to Sam who helped us in the day of. WOW! She was so sweet and great to work with. She made sure to keep us on time, did little breathing exercises to calm our nerves, made sure we got to eat & drink, and held space for us to have our 10 minutes of alone time. She listened to all of our requests and brought together a beautiful ceremony and reception. My guests are RAVING about the venue, decor, food and drinks, and overall service. We are so impressed with Personal Touch Dining and would recommend them for any couple who is wanting a seamless wedding experience. TWe truly had the perfect fall wedding of our dreams and we are so grateful!

Our wedding day at the Mt. Woodson Castle was quite simply a perfect experience. Working with this venue as well as Personal Touch Dining was a breeze through every step of the process. I couldn’t have asked for an easier planning process or a more gorgeous experience! Peyton and Kelsey helped us with the entire process. They were always so helpful, quick to respond, and helped make the planning as easy as possible. Our Day-Of Coordinator, Sophia, was such a gem and made my entire wedding day a breeze. Her presence helped to reassure me the whole entire day that everything was going perfectly.Everyone I worked with both during the planning and on the day of our wedding had such a fun, energetic vibe that made the entire day that much better! The castle is absolutely stunning, so I knew from the beginning this venue was going to be a jaw dropper for our guests. On top of the perfect setting, everything else the castle provided fell together just perfectly. The food was so tasty that even our guests have told us how much they loved it. Bonus: there were leftovers to take home at the end of the night, which we got to share with the family to re-live our experience in the days following a the wedding! Not only the food, but the drinks were tasty, the churro bar and other desserts were scrumptious, and all the servers and wait staff were so friendly and quick to attend to our guests!All in all, I highly recommend this venue if you want to have the perfect wedding! I’m still in awe of how amazing my wedding was, and I have guests telling me the same even months after the fact! Plan your wedding with Mt. Woodson Castle, I promise you won't regret it!

Our wedding at Mt Woodson was everything we dreamed of!! I cannot thank the staff from Personal Touch Dining (the in-house caterer/manager) enough for making our day flawless. We worked with Peyton and Kelsey in preparing for the event. Communication was super prompt and they both went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I loved that for our tasting, we did a group tasting with other brides and groom who were also getting married here. Our day-of coordinator was Stephanie and she was fantastic. I admit that I was nervous not meeting our coordinator until the rehearsal (which is the policy of this venue, and something that we were told at booking) - I had become so comfortable and confident in Peyton and Kelsey’s work that it was scary to bring someone else into the process that I didn’t know. But we could not be more happy with Stephanie’s management of our wedding day! She took such good care of us and our families, making sure we stayed on time and guests had the best experience. And she did it all with a smile on her face! If she was stressed at all during our big day, she never showed it - which left me feeling so relaxed and confident on our wedding day!We chose the Oak Tree site for the ceremony, the Upper Lawn for our buffet dinner (tri tip, Parmesan breaded chicken, salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, and bread), and inside the castle for dancing. The Oak Tree site at 5 pm on a sunny day in June was magical!!! Perfectly shaded but green and beautiful. Everything I dreamed of and more! It’s a little steep while walking in heels to get down there, but otherwise an excellent choice. The Upper Lawn was beautiful as well, especially under the market lights for an evening dinner! The huge bar is right near there which made for a fun cocktail hour too (we had an open bar, which was $20/person - totally worth it!). Our DJ (Kaleb from Dancing DJ Productions) set up in the balcony overlooking the dance floor which was super fun. We extended the evening by one hour for a fee, which we are glad we did! Waiters, bartenders, and other staff were attentive. Food was great! Everyone was talking about how this was the best wedding food they’d ever had! The negatives: this venue is far from San Diego. It’s on some windy roads which made me nervous, especially driving at night. People who used Uber took forever to get a ride. There are also not great hotel selections nearby. We wanted to stay at a beautiful hotel for our wedding night so we ended up at the Lakehouse Resort on Lake San Marcos - LOVED the hotel but it’s a 45 minute drive from Mt Woodson. Our next choice would have been Rancho Bernardo Inn but for the price, it wasn’t really what we were looking for. Thank you to everyone at Mt Woodson who made our day perfect!! I highly recommend hosting your wedding here!

I’m so glad we decided to have our wedding at Mt. Woodson! We decided on the oak trees for our ceremony and the lower lawn for our reception. It was so beautiful, the food was incredible, and the planning process was made very easy by the team. Peyton was very helpful throughout the process and answered all of our questions timely. Kelsey, our day of coordinator was incredible. She was friendly, helpful, and made the day so seamless for us. It was so nice having her take care of us, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day! On top of it all, our guests loved the food! It was such a perfect day – we cannot recommend Mt. Woodson enough!!

How cool is it to tell your friends and family that you are getting married in a castle?! We fell in love with this place from the moment we stepped foot on the castle grounds. The food was so delicious and using Amy Closet's for extra decor was so convenient!We worked with Peyton and Brooke for the planning and Kelsey did an amazing job executing our rehearsal and wedding day. Peyton and Brooke were very response to all my questions and made the process simple and stress free. They both offered great advice from helping with the timeline, decor and made sure I was happy with everything.For our rehearsal and wedding day, Kelsey was beyond amazing. She was friendly, organized and made sure everything was running smoothly. It felt like she as part of our wedding party as she just fit in perfectly with our group of friends/family. Everyone was so sweet and we are so thankful for everything 💗 Thanks again, you won't be disappointed here the only down part was it ended way too fast but its because we were all having too much fun! Pros: 1.Competitive pricing2. Absolutely gorgeous venue with both indoor and outdoor options. 3.All in one package including unlimited drinks. 4.Food was pretty good overall. We had a cheese and fruit plate as an appetizer, and the meals were tri tip and chicken with mashed potatoes. The tri tip was the best. Vegetarians were given a lasagna. 5. Lots of decor included. 6. You get the whole place to yourself. There are no other weddings happening the same day. 7. There are a few options of where you can have your ceremony. In front of the castle, by an old tree, etcCons:1. staff were not as responsive to our emails as we would have liked. We had to keep following up to get a response. We felt in the dark on a lot of planning elements until we were about 90 days from the wedding date. We would have liked a clear outline of what to expect as far as planning from the very beginning. We had no contact with our day of coordinator nor did we know who she was until about a week or so before the wedding. 2. Brides and grooms be aware: you can NOT have your makeup and hair done in the bridal suite at the venue!!! Despite paying around $14k and being the only people using the venue that day, you are not allowed to come any earlier than 2 hours before the event without paying extra. Regardless you are not allowed to use the suites for hair and makeup because “the building is old.”3. The initial tasting did not meet our expectations. When the menu described “gourmet artisan crackers and imported cheeses” we were given club crackers and very basic low quality cheeses. However I did express dissatisfaction with the crackers and they quickly came back with better crackers. I appreciate that they fixed it but we wondered why they gave us that in the first place. The rest of the food was pretty good for venue food.4. Staff were unwilling to be flexible with changing plans. Given the Covid pandemic, we were uncomfortable keeping our wedding reception and wanted to opt for a small elopement. We asked if we could apply what we had already paid to Personal Touch Dining (roughly $6k) towards just catering, as this was over 9 months before the wedding date and no wedding planning on their end had been done yet. They refused. In their defense, it was in the contract that the funds were not transferable, however had they been flexible, we would be writing a much better review on great customer service. 5. Staff did not tell us until the day of the wedding that Ubers would not be available in the area of the venue. Right before the ceremony, as music was playing and all the guests were sitting down, our day of coordinator took the mic to tell all of our guests that they needed to figure out another way home because Ubers are not in this area. This caused stress for us because we had to scramble at the last minute to figure out carpools. They should have told us this way earlier. 5. Both the bride, groom, parents of the bride, and wedding party members felt that the day of coordinator had a rude attitude. She snapped at some of the bridesmaids and told them to “get it together” and was not very kind or friendly to the couple during the rehearsal. We would have preferred more positive energy and kindness from her on this important and nerve wrecking day in our lives. Overall I would recommend this venue, so long as the couple is aware of all of the above.

Then COVID hit and the shut down happened and we were forced to postpone our wedding date. We eventually got married 2 years later and in that 2 year waiting period the Mt. Woodson staff was AMAZING! They remained in touch with us and we available for any and all questions we had. We had the extreme pleasure of working with both Peyton LaBeau and Brooke Wilson. Simply put, they were a Blessing to work with! A few days before the wedding we had a bit of twist to our plan when the weather decided not to be the typical Sunny San Diego we are used to. We were expecting rain and both Peyton and Brooke were on top of it. They had to plan an entire outdoor wedding indoors, as well as, get a tent (2 days before the wedding) and set it all up for 125 people. They pulled out some magic with the help of our day of coordinator Kelsey and pulled it off. The wedding was intimate and beautiful. Kelsey totally ROCKED the day of coordinating. She was everywhere and tackling every task and she was such a pleasure to work with and made my job, as the bride, smooth sailing. Thank you Ladies!

To say that our wedding day at the castle was sublime would be an understatement. A BIG shout out to Kelsey for her attention to detail. All of the setup with our party favors, signage, picture frames, etc. was PERFECT. The food was just as we remembered from the tasting, if not better. Now that we’ve received some footage from the day, it looks like everyone’s plate was full and it was smiles all around. Everything ran according to schedule. The use of proprietary vendors was definitely a value add. Everyone knew everyone and it was apparent.It was such a rush. Such unfiltered joy. Isn’t that what a wedding is supposed to be? Mt Woodson was the first venue we looked at and we instantly knew it was the venue for us! We loved how unique it was and the history of the building. The pictures online don't do the history justice! We especillay loved the hand painted astrology room. All of the ceremony & reception spaces were amazing but we fell in love with the oak trees and the lower lawn for the reception. Another great part about the venue is how inclusive it is. The coordinators were so helpful in finding vendors for the things we wanted (marquee letters, specific arch, etc). The coordinators were very commmunicative leading up to the day and were happy to help answer all our questions! The provided lists of suggested vendors and that helped us so much since we aren't from the area! They also offer a lot of items from \"Amys Closet\" which has table numbers, card boxes etc. It was great to have access to these for our day. The day went pretty smoothly and we feel so thankful we found Mt Woodson as our wedding venue. All of our guests really loved it as well, we are not local to San Diego so it was a bit of a drive for some guests, but they all said it was very worth it and loved it as much as we did! I am so glad we got married at Mt Woodson and will have this special memory at this venue for the rest of our lives! I would definitely reccomend this for couples looking for a unique, affordable, all inclusive venue option!

Woodson back in early 2020 and by the time we returned for our wedding in 2022 - it was even more beautiful than we had remembered. The entire team is incredible. A special acknowledgement for Kelsey, the day of coordinator, who is truly AMAZING at her job. I am a Type A, planner type who was frankly overwhelmed at the idea of the wedding day. But from the second I arrived at the bridal suite, I was at ease with Kelsey. She kept us on schedule, while also being flexible when we were whisked away for more pictures. She gave us tips and made it so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I received a text after my wedding that said “You guys looked so incredibly happy so that must mean it wasn’t stressful” to which I replied that it was all due to Kelsey that we felt at ease. Mt. Woodson also has Amy’s closet, which is so nice to allow you to pick from their table numbers, signs, decorations, etc. so you don’t have to purchase all of those. 20/10 stars for the food, drinks, venue, staff, everything. I am so grateful that we had our wedding here!

Mt Woodson is an all inclusive venue, meaning they provide the food, set up/break down, & decor (minus flowers). It was very convenient and stress free. The actual wedding and reception went super smoothly too. Peyton and her staff did an excellent job decorating, & everything looked gorgeous. We dropped off a few items the day before (like programs, wedding kit, etc) and the next day everything was in its proper place. It was so great to know that everything is being taken care of and that I could just show up worry free. The Mt Woodson team has it all down to a science. Drinks to food to music is nailed to a T, and everything went super smoothly. Couldn’t say more great things about Peyton, the team at Mt Woodson, or its beautiful surroundings. I'm going to give a completely honest and transparent review. First and foremost my wedding was so beautiful and everything I dreamed it would be. While there was some communication issues with management throughout the process, the owner herself did everything she could to rectify my concerns and made me feel very heard. Now for the show stopper. Dani, the day of coordinator. I seriously have no words but im going to try. She made my day feel effortless. She went above and beyond to make not only me but my ridiculously large wedding party feel at ease and on schedule. And managing that many people is not for the weak. She deserves all the praise and you can tell her heart is really in the business of making brides days as special as possible.

I'm going to give a completely honest and transparent review. First and foremost my wedding was so beautiful and everything I dreamed it would be. While there was some communication issues with management throughout the process, the owner herself did everything she could to rectify my concerns and made me feel very heard. Now for the show stopper. Dani, the day of coordinator. I seriously have no words but im going to try. She made my day feel effortless. She went above and beyond to make not only me but my ridiculously large wedding party feel at ease and on schedule. And managing that many people is not for the weak. She deserves all the praise and you can tell her heart is really in the business of making brides days as special as possible.

My fiancé and I absolutely LOVED Mt Woodson Castle! It was the first wedding venue consultation call we had, and also the first wedding venue we toured. Peyton was incredibly helpful and responsive to all of our questions. Ultimately, we ended up choosing another venue over Mt Woodson Castle for our special day simply due to its location. However, it was a VERY tough decision as we did truly love Mt Woodson! The grounds are beautiful, and one of the biggest draws for us was the ability to have in-house wedding planning and coordination leading up to your big day - no need to hire an additional day-of coordinator. I would highly encourage everyone to reach out to Mt Woodson Castle to schedule a consultation call and/or come in for an in-person tour of the venue. Thanks again for your help, Peyton!

We got married at Mt. Woodson Castle on 8.14.21 and I'm so happy we found this venue! Now I want everyone I know to get married there as well. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. The food was delicious. The staff was great! This was the only venue we ended up visiting because we fell in love with it right away. Wedding planning was so easy and smooth with them. There were so many things I didn't have to worry about because they took care of EVERYTHING. We loved working with Dani! She's great at what she does and you can tell how much she loves it.

We cannot sing the praises of Mt. Woodson and Personal Touch Dinning enough! The castle and the grounds are beyond gorgeous and have such a rich and detailed history. We received so many compliments from our guest about how beautiful and authentic the scenery and venue were. We booked the venue and started wedding planning from Tennessee at the height of the pandemic. We were not able to travel to see the venue, so Mt. Woodson took us on a live virtual tour, covering every inch of the property. We originally started planning with Taylor, then Peyton took over about 4 months before our wedding. Both Taylor and Peyton were absolutely amazing! Peyton really made our final months of planning a breeze, inluding helping us navigate a few last minute unforeseen guest list changes. We cannot thank her enough for helping make sure all of our guests could be there on our special day! Our Day of Coordinator Dani was above and beyond any one we could have asked for. Do you want to be stress free day of? Dani is your girl! She took care of us throughout the entire day, including bringing us drinks and appetizers while we were taking pictures, giving guests tours of the beautiful castle, and taking care of even the smallest of details.The Personal Touch dining staff were bubbly and helpful. Staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and congratulate us on our union. The food is absolutely amazing. Every single dish from appetizers to desserts was delicious! We recieved an enormous amount of compliments from our guests on the food, bar, and service. They also pack up all the left overs for you to take home! It was perfect for a midnight snack. We truly cannot praise Mt. Woodson enough! If you are thinking about booking here, you 110% should. You will not be disappointed! My wife and I already have plans to renew our vows in 10 years at Mt. Woodson, and we only got married in September! Cannot wait to do it all over again.

The venue is amazing. It photographs beautifully and it's very romantic and intimate for smaller weddings. What made it even more amazing were the wedding coordinators Dani & Peyton. They were there every step of the way and we would have been lost without them. Dani went above and beyond and took our extra bouquet flowers and used them to decorate the bar and our sweetheart table, etc. She was amazing and so kind and available the entire evening! Also, Amy's Closet is perfection. You can borrow all the decorations and not have to come out of pocket for items you'll never need again. I would say my wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle was one of the most amazing nights of my life!

I don't even know where to start this venus is AMAZING! We planned our entire wedding during Covid so I thought it would be more stressful or we would have more restrictions. That wasn't the case at all. From our initial tour with Taylor, to many emails and our tasting with Peyton, to our rehearsal and day of with Dani these girls were the DREAM TEAM. Every step of our planning went so smoothly, the price is so reasonable compared to all San Diego venues. It included the amazing venue, bridal/groom suites, all decorations ( I bought zero decorations), dining, staff, tables, you name it they had it. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL with so many good photo spots/areas for the guests to walk around and enjoy. They had 2 different ceremony and receptions sites to choose from. The food was DELICIOUS and had vegan/gluten free options. The staff knew exactly what to do and were so professional & fun (they took a cute photo in the photo booth). It is such a hidden gem in the hills of Ramona, so close to Poway and the 15/56 freeways (20 minutes). I cannot thank the staff and venue enough for giving us the BEST wedding experience. I want to do it all over again!! <3

They are so fast and discreet you don't even realize they have completely transitioned the decor from ceremony to reception. I was kept in the loop throughout the night but without them being a bother at all. My parents had to do NO clean up at all because all our personal decor/gifts were in a pile all ready for us to put in our car. Appetizers were brought to our sweetheart table because we missed cocktail hour for photos. I felt very attended to and the day was absolutely perfect.

There are not enough words to express how beautiful, amazing and perfect our wedding day was! Also, due to Covid, we got to celebrate 2 times! How many couples can say that?! In 2020, Taylor helped us with every detail, she answered every question and even the uncertain times to explain our options since CA was only allowing ceremonies and not receptions at the time. We opted to do our ceremony on July 31,2020 and then have our reception the following year on July 30, 2021. When contacting Taylor back earlier this year, she forwarded me to Dani and Peyton since Taylor moved away. I was really bummed she moved since she was so helpful and sweet! But little did I know, Dani and Peyton were just as amazing!!! Honestly, they picked up right where Taylor left off. They reminded me what colors and food we chose, the timeline of the wedding and answered all our questions! The main reason we chose Mt. Woodson, obviously other than the beautiful venue with the oak trees, the historic castle and just so many photo opts wherever you looked, is their delicious food! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE loved the food! They said it was the most delicious wedding food they have ever eaten. From the staff (who by the way compliments you when they see you and just makes you feel so good!), Peyton who overlooked the whole venue and honestly Dani who is my favorite person there! She took down notes, wrote down where we wanted all our decor, every little request was with a smile to make sure it was a perfect, relaxing and fun day! I trusted her to put decor wherever she thought would look great, told us what is coming next, food was delivered to our table so we wouldn’t even have to get up and go get it and even drinks when we requested it! My husband Aaron and I had a baby back in May and he made his debut there also along with us celebrating our 1 year anniversary. It was just so awesome and I wish we could do this every year! They send you home with a beautiful wine and even a hand written thank you card to top it off! I truly highly suggest couples have their wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle! 😊💕🎉🙌🏻✨

Mt. Woodson is simply amazing! We got married under the oak trees and had our reception on the lower lawn. The food was AMAZING!!!! Everyone has completed us on it. Dani did an amazing job as the day of coordinator. She killed it the day of and made every little detail amazing :) She even notice my moms glow stick wasn’t working when she wasn’t working while on the dance floor and brought her a new one! We had the most amazing day at Mt. Woodson. You will not regret booking this as your wedding venue!

This venue is beautiful, all the guests loved the area and history of the castle. The food was phenomenal, everyone was so impressed and couldn't stop raving about it afterwards. Taylor and Dani are fantastic, leading up to the day and the day of they were happy to help with anything and answered all our questions. We felt safe and comfortable with their COVID precautions and had no guests sick afterwards. I would happily recommend this venue to anyone looking for something inclusive and beautiful!

Taylor, the venue coordinator, was wonderful throughout the postponement process. We were not penalized and were easily able to secure a new date. While I have no idea what that new date will look like due to Covid, I have been very happy with the awesome service provided by Mt. Woodson. They have kept us in the loop and not only met but exceeded all of our expectations.As far as the venue itself goes- it is stunning! We are so excited to hold our wedding there. My fiance and I were supposed to have our wedding at Mt. Woodson in May 2020, but for obvious reasons, we had to reschedule. Their dates were filling up and my fiance and I were feeling discouraged, but then we got a date we liked at one of their sister venues for October 2020. We have since rescheduled that date and moved it back to our original venue for October 2021. Throughout this process, the staff at Mt. Woodson (Personal Touch) has been helpful and communicative -- especially Taylor! She has worked with us during this tricky time to make sure we are still getting the wedding we've been looking forward to. We are thankful for their flexibility and know that when our big day finally comes, it will be just as special.

Their dates were filling up and my fiance and I were feeling discouraged, but then we got a date we liked at one of their sister venues for October 2020. We have since rescheduled that date and moved it back to our original venue for October 2021. Throughout this process, the staff at Mt. Woodson (Personal Touch) has been helpful and communicative -- especially Taylor! She has worked with us during this tricky time to make sure we are still getting the wedding we've been looking forward to. We are thankful for their flexibility and know that when our big day finally comes, it will be just as special.

Mt Woodson Castle is truly one of the most beautiful locations ever and we couldn't have asked for a better venue or team for our wedding on September 4th, 2020!The location itself is stunning from the grounds and trees to the handcrafted interior and beautiful bridal/groom suites. I cant wait to see our pictures because with such an impressive background they have to be incredible! Taylor, our event coordinator, is probably the most talented and amazing person in the entire world and she made wedding planning a breeze! Thanks to COVID we had to change dates, adjust group sizes, deal with city and state restrictions, and of course all the regular wedding planning details, but she handled it like a champ, was always super responsive, and made everything work our perfectly! I literally don't think we could have planned this wedding as successfully as we did without Taylor and the incredible team at Mt. Woodson!Food is also incredible thanks to Personal Touch Dining, which for me and my husband was a big part of why we chose this location! This venue is gorgeous and so unique--you won't find anything like this anywhere else. Due to covid restrictions we were only allowed to have our ceremony and take photos there. I am so grateful we were able to do that because our photos came out beautifully. Everyone was in awe of the beautiful grounds and theres so many amazing spots for photos that are so unique. We had our ceremony in front of the castle which made for a gorgeous backdrop for all of those photos. We did wedding party photos by the oak trees and family photos by the castle. You also have access to the grounds and golf course, so my husband and I were able to do photos there as well. Its such a beautiful outdoors space with the castle and lots of greenery and then the inside of the castle is so cool and different. I looked at soooo many venues online and toured them as well, but nothing compares to this. As soon as I walked on the property, I knew we had to get married here.Taylor, the event manager, is AMAZING. I can't emphasize that enough. She always answered all of my crazy and panicked questions quickly. The venue was very accommodating with all of the last minute changes due to covid as well. We were able to do the tasting before our reception had to be cancelled and the food is delicious. They have so many great options its hard to chose. Even if something you want isn't on their menu they will make it for you. Its also a really good price for everything you are getting in my opinion.

We just had our wedding at the castle on Aug 4th, 2019. We received lots compliments on the venue we chosed, and many of them told us that they enjoyed the outdoor dining. Everything is perfect. It's beautiful, romantic and heartwarming. The price is just as mentioned on their website - inexpensive, as we compared at least 5 venues, we would say their price is below the average, or at least close to the average, but the service they provided, in our opinion, beats the price. Leah was our pre-wedding manager, she guided us to the right route. Taylor was our coordinator on the wedding day. They both are professional, efficient, helpful and easygoing. Taylor did an amazing job! She is super organized, perfect in managing the timeline! An anecdote here is that a couple (our guests) who plan to have a wedding in San Diego next year asked for a brochure of the venue. Thank you so much for being awesome on our special day!

For the price of the venue we were looking at places with similar estimates that didn't include even half of what Mt. Woodson offers. And if you use the Springhill Marriott in Rancho Bernardo they offer a shuttle to transport guests. Everyone at our wedding had a wonderful time and our coordinator Ryan took care of all the details day or so we didn't have to worry about anything. The venue is beautiful, flexible to different set ups, and overall an amazing (almost) one stop shop. Cannot recommend this place enough and I am so happy that we we avle to get married there.

My wife and I were married at Mt Woodson Castle in December 2018.Mt Woodson Castle was the perfect place for our wedding. We fell in love with the oak tree ceremony site and the breathtaking views of Mt Woodson. We had our wedding in December and experienced ideal weather. While we got a bit lucky, it goes to show that this is a viable outdoor venue for most of the year.The great room of the castle was fantastic. We used it for a pre-ceremony tradition and for post-dinner dancing. The great room accommodated our 200 guests with ease; in practice, there were never 200 people in the room at the same time but even at its most full it never felt too crowded. The upstairs balcony made for a wonderful viewing platform for those who wanted to watch the dancing but not participate. Other guests milled about on the patio outside or on the front lawn.Many of our guests reached out to us and told us how magical the venue was. The only downside to the venue is that it's charming and aesthetically-pleasing uneven surfaces create mobility issues. We were able to mostly work around this because our guests were considerate and lent a helping hand to those who had a hard time with stairs and slopes - but our grandparents were definitely tired and sore by the end of the event.I would like to offer a special thank you to Iman, Rian, and Leah, without whom our event would not have come off. I wholeheartedly recommend Mt Woodson Castle as a wedding venue.

Mt. Woodson castle is the type of place people dream of getting married at. The house reminded both my husband and I of our respective childhood homes and we knew that we had to book the venue for our day in March after going on a grounds tour with Iman. The grounds are well kept and there was plenty of parking for our 100-guest wedding and we received compliments on the venue and staff for weeks following our day. We could not agree more with the praise that was spoken of the catering staff, Iman and the castle. Iman was fabulous and always quick to respond to emails and she is excellent about setting “away from the office” notifications so that you don’t think your correspondence was overlooked. She was short and to the point (not to a fault though), but willing to explain in detail as well as take the time to talk to you rather than carrying on with the events at the castle. On the day of the wedding she was also able to direct, find and facilitate all of the events of the day. I only wish we had a bit more “getting ready time” before the ceremony began (we had ceremony and reception here). The food was also delicious and we loved that we had a tasting of everything they offered in order to best choose a menu for our particular crowd. We chose a buffet-style dinner, but there were also options for different style buffets as well as plated meals. We were also able to choose a bar package that suited our needs and were even able to customize some of the brews that were offered. Overall, it was delicious and the offerings were flexible -- so long as you knew what you needed. Bonus!All in all, our day was absolutely perfect from start to end. Even my Matron of Honor said it was the best wedding she had ever been to since everything went so smoothly– besides her own of course. Thank you, Mt. Woodson and Iman for a magical wedding!

The castle and the grounds are stunning, and I loved that we could roam the castle--some of our guests found quiet rooms where they could just relax and chat before they went back to the dance floor. It truly was a perfect, magical evening!I really want to thank Iman and Rian, the venue coordinators. Iman worked with us up to and including the day of the wedding, helping my daughter and son-in-law to plan the wedding they wanted, patiently and professionally answering every question and email I sent her way, and supervising the events of the day. Rian was on hand the day of the rehearsal to guide us through the schedule of the ceremony and to collect the decorations and decor that we had brought for the reception. The day of the wedding, he and Iman took care of everything; it meant everything to us that we were able to enjoy the wedding and the reception with absolutely no worries about schedules or details. This was the first of only 2 venues that we looked at. I absolutely fell in love with it when we saw it in person. The grounds are amazing, and it is so wonderful that you get basically free range of the castle day-of. Iman the coordinator was great with all the planning, and her assistant Samantha was there for rehearsal and the entire wedding. I can't praise them enough. Personal Touch dining runs the venue and provided the food, bar, and service. I haven't stopped getting compliments on the food.

Mt. Woodson was the second venue we looked at and my now husband and I instantly fell in love. We chose to have our ceremony down below under the oak trees because it’s just amazingly gorgeous down there and it actually provided a ton of shade for our guests. We also did our reception on the upper lawn with dancing in the castle. I was originally worried about the logistics of everything since we were changing locations often during the night...but everything was perfect. We got so many compliments on the venue because it’s so unique from the typical hotel wedding with ballroom. Iman helped us from the day we signed the contract to the day of the wedding and she is absolutely great. Super helpful! Our day of coordinator was Samantha and she was amazing as well!! She told us where to go and what to do the whole night. She also made sure we had food and drinks at our table at all times. Also, my florist forgot to bring two roses for our mothers rose ceremony and Samantha didn’t miss a beat and improvised. The contracted hotel Springhill Suites by Marriott was great and convenient for all of our guests, so that was a nice perk...if you have a certain amount of guests stay at the hotel you get a complimentary shuttle which was perfect. Iman and her staff were very professional and took care of all the big and little details. Our wedding guests loved how open and big the venue and grounds were, and we had plenty of space and ability to set up lawn games, pick our own specialty cocktails and take beautiful photos of us and the wedding party prior to the event. We are so happy that we decided on Mt. Woodson.

The venue itself is just MAGICAL! Straight out of a fairy tale. The fact that it is all-inclusive saved me so much headache. From the minute we arrived, I felt completely taken care of. Their food is ah-may-zing. I got so many compliments on the food. Did I mention open bar? If your friends like to drink, this is the spot for you. I can't believe how magical the day was and how incredible Iman and her staff was in making everything go so smoothly. Lastly, the value for the price is outstanding. I cannot rave enough about Mt Woodson.

Iman was such an amazing coordinator/everything else. Every time I even got close to worrying, she would just say \"I got it\" and all worries were gone. We had our ceremony and reception outside and it was flawless. We hardly needed any flowers because we were surrounded by beautiful nature. The only thing I would've changed was that I wish it was longer! I would highly recommend paying to have the venue an hour longer than the 5 hours that the package comes with.

Of course I wanted my day to be perfect and sent numerous emails to Iman where she was always so quick to respond and made this whole process so much easier. Iman was a rock star that day and went above and beyond what I had expected. She made my day absolutely perfect and added so much more to my décor to give it that extra touch. She was on top of everything the entire day and was making sure I had everything I needed. She even came up and helped Bustle my dress. This venue truly is one of a kind; everything is included and taken care of at such a great price. You won’t find that anywhere else.

I had my wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle this past April, and everything about it exceeded our expectations. We made a visit and knew from that day we would be getting married there. The prices are affordable in comparison to other venues around San Diego. We were lucky to have Iman as our day-of coordinator, which is a huge perk to have a built in day-of coordinator when booking this venue. If I could give any piece of advice to future brides-to-be it would be to have a day-of coordinator, especially one as excellent as Iman. She was always on top of things throughout our entire 15 month engagement. Emails would typically have a response within the day, which is huge when planning a wedding! Everyone at our wedding commented on how together she was and how smoothly the entire day went. Thank you, Iman!!!Mt. Woodson allowed us to have many upgrades in terms of chairs, chargers, and dining options to fit what we were looking for. You're able to add on extra time, and for us this was big! The beauty of Mt. Woodson blew all of our friends and family away. It's nice to find a venue where you need minimal additions due to how remarkable everything is. Personal Touch Dining is the catering company that works with Mt. Woodson and they're phenomenal! I'm a huge foodie and their presentation,quality, and taste of their food was excellent. We had a seated dinner where guests could choose from filet, salmon, or portobello napoleon. Our guests loved the appetizers as well! Everyone working was extremely friendly during our wedding day. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

I had my wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle this past April, and everything about it exceeded our expectations. We made a visit and knew from that day we would be getting married there. The prices are affordable in comparison to other venues around San Diego. We were lucky to have Iman as our day-of coordinator, which is a huge perk to have a built in day-of coordinator when booking this venue. If I could give any piece of advice to future brides-to-be it would be to have a day-of coordinator, especially one as excellent as Iman. She was always on top of things throughout our entire 15 month engagement. Emails would typically have a response within the day, which is huge when planning a wedding! Everyone at our wedding commented on how together she was and how smoothly the entire day went. Thank you, Iman!!!Mt. Woodson allowed us to have many upgrades in terms of chairs, chargers, and dining options to fit what we were looking for. You're able to add on extra time, and for us this was big! The beauty of Mt. Woodson blew all of our friends and family away. It's nice to find a venue where you need minimal additions due to how remarkable everything is. Personal Touch Dining is the catering company that works with Mt. Woodson and they're phenomenal! I'm a huge foodie and their presentation,quality, and taste of their food was excellent. My wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle was absolutely enchanting. The venue is gorgeous, and you get the whole place to yourselves. The castle was built in 1921 and has the charm to prove it. Everyone loved the atmosphere; it was like stepping into a fairytale. Our ceremony was down by the oak trees, for which we incurred a surcharge, but it was worth it. Dinner was at the upper lawn, and with the view of the castle and strung up market lights overhead, it was simply beautiful. Dancing was in the great room of the castle. The price for the venue was right, and the bridal suite is large and well-decorated, as is the groom's suite. I really couldn't have asked for anything more. \r\rHowever, by far the best thing about booking your wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle is you get the amazing, professional, meticulous, organized Iman Rosario as your coordinator. Iman is an angel. Our wedding flowed seamlessly and without a single hitch, and I have Iman to thank for that. \r

They are connected to a catering company, and it was a huge stress reliever not to have to find another company to come in for food/drinks. Our night was perfect and one I will never forget! I am very unhappy with this venue. I have tried to contact them for months through email, phone and Facebook. Eventually, my fiancee called them and left a message (because they never answer their phone.) They called her back almost immediately and then emailed her to set something up. After this, they finally emailed me back saying that they had tried to contact me several times to set something up, but that I had never responded; I never received any sort of communication from them. In an email to her, they offered two days to set something up, so we asked to set up a time for one of the days they offered because my brother/MOH was going to be in town. They responded saying that they were booked for the next two weeks. I'm not sure how anyone ever gets in contact with them, but I am very disappointed and would never feel comfortable working with them at this point. I hope no one else has to have an experience like this with them. I hope the location is as beautiful as the pictures.

You really get what you pay for when booking the castle. The landscape and the architecture can fit most any theme (mine was fairytale). I would just recommend against wearing heels because of the uneven grass and stairs; not disabled friendly but we managed to get my grandmother around ok. Iman the coordinator was also very helpful in making sure no details were forgotten, offering advice, and answering all my questions. That helped out with my stress levels so much, especially since I was doing the rest of the wedding planning. We even got to bring our own alcohol and took home all those delicious leftovers. All my guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and what a great time they had. The waiting staff made sure everyone was taken care of, and Iman even packed a to-go bag of cake and food when my groom and I left for the night. The food was also very delicious and I loved the fact that we were able to taste everything before the menu was set in stone. They have a lot of options to choose from (including vegan & gluten free) and the bridal suite was nice and spacious. The wedding went by so fast but I felt so well taken care of! I would definitely recommend Mt. Woodson Castle to anyone looking for a quiet, picturesque venue with great amenities.

I just CANNOT say enough good things about Mt. Woodson Castle, the catering service that serves the castle Personal Touch Dining, and especially my point of contact Iman. Finding a wedding venue in my opinion is the toughest part of planning a wedding. As soon as I saw the photos of Mt. Woodson Castle, I instantly fell in love with it and just knew I had to get married there. My initial inquiry was quickly responded to by Iman and I was able to make an appointment to view the venue in no time at all. During the planning Iman was available 24/7 to help with any questions I had, give suggestions, and make appointments. For the food tasting we went to Personal Touch Dining and got to try many delicious choices. There were so many good options that it was hard to narrow it down and it is always better to have too much of a good thing than too little. For the rehearsal and day of the wedding Iman was always around for anything you needed. The wedding went off without a hitch and all of our guest could not believe the venue we were able to find. The castle has so much uniqness that your wedding feels different that any you have ever been to. Not only is the castle itself absolutely amazing but the grounds surrounding make for awesome photo ops! I woke up the next morning and asked my new husband if we could do it again that day because it was so perfect. I owe so much to Iman and am grateful I found the castle!

Besides the fact that the location is drop dead gorgeous, the thing that sets this apart from other venues is the coordinator, Iman. She was beyond amazing. She answered every question promptly and professionally. Without her, the wedding would not have been so fabulous. The food was to die for!!! I can't tell you how many people mentioned it was the best wedding they had ever been to, the best food at a wedding (Personal Touch is the mandated catering company), and the most gorgeous setting. Iman took care of us from head to toe ... even tied the corset on my dress! There was no detail too small or too large for Iman to handle. The other thing I have to mention is the great value of the venue. I pretty much looked at every venue in SD county and this was the most beautiful and the best value. If you are considering this venue, pull the trigger ASAP! Please contact me directly if you'd like any additional details! I can't say enough good things about Iman.

I loved having my wedding at Mt.Woodson! The whole venue is magical & does not need much decoration as it has it's own beautiful landscape. The team was very pleasant and quick to respond to my MANY emails. There were a couple issues they had with me having a wedding planner that they failed to talk to me about until they mentioned it to my Mom the day before the wedding... But other than that, communication & everything else was great!
