Museum Of Biblical Arts Reviews
Emma Bales(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2021 Kathy and Tiffany and all of the MBA staff were unbelievable during our almost 2-year (!!!) COVID wedding journey. Great value for a beautiful and unique space. They fit all of our needs and worked amazingly well with our other vendors. Thank you!! Reviewed on 04-10-2021
Natalie Steward(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-06-2021 The first moment I walked in to this beautiful museum, I felt so much love from the staff! Tiffany and Kathy are a breathe of fresh air and both have so much information. From the beginning of our contract to the ending of receiving my damage deposit back was an amazing experience! I even received a hand written letter from Ms. Kathy thanking me for my event there!!! Wow! Wow! Wow! Reviewed on 12-12-2021
Marissa Villarreal(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2021 The Museum of Biblical Arts was the perfect place to host our wedding reception. Kathy and her team were so nice and pleasant throughout the planning process. The museum is home to such beautiful works of art and it’s a cool and unique place to host your ceremony or your reception (or both!). The ballroom was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so helpful and nice during our party. Our guests were able to browse different galleries as included as part of renting the space. We thought that was an excellent favor to give to our guests, and many expressed to us that they thought it was really cool. It was a fun and unique way to celebrate our wedding and really showcased what my husband and I like to do and experience. If you’re looking for a reception venue that is out of the ordinary, I highly recommend the Museum of Biblical Arts. You will not be disappointed with the staff or with the space during your big day. They were very nice, accommodating, and attentive. All of my guests loved the museum and raved about how beautiful the venue is. My wedding planner did not have to add much decoration because the space is gorgeous all on its own. We chose to only have the wedding ceremony here, but after we began working with them, I regretted not having the reception there as well. Overall, I was very pleased with the venue and the staff. Ambrose Ayati(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2018 The Museum Of Biblical Arts was a fantastic gem of a venue for our wedding in August 2018. It was an oasis that provided the religious, the classical, the ancient and the modern atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors, such that we were able to feature an unforgettably classy wedding. The setting of this venue was affluent but inviting, the experience unbeatable. My princess bride was stunningly beautiful real time and in our wedding photos and videos, with compositions that featured romanesque portico, columns and arches, with eclectic Christian statues dotting the landscape outdoors, to the classical statues and bursts of biblical figures in the atrium and the wonderful Christian and Jewish art collections in the different galleries. Hailey and Kathy were always available to help us with every detail. They did not try to hound us with follow up emails with a high pressure sales approach. Working with Hailey was a complete joy. She was very knowledgeable about coordination, arrangement, flow of events, and vendor relations. We had about ten vendors that were providing unique elements for our wedding and had plans updated down to the week of the wedding. We planned our wedding, from start to finish in two months. Our caterer, Celebrations of Dallas, was recommended by the MBA. Our guests were raving about the food choice we selected and how delicious all items tasted.Their pricing was very economical with superb customer service. I can honestly say that I was a tough critic, being in the event industry myself for almost twenty years. We searched for a special ceremony location that would bless our family & guests. The MBA provides a truly unique experience with Jewish and Christian artifacts from all over the world. My wife fell in love with the MBA, their breathtaking atrium, religious artwork and sculptures. We wanted to honor God by giving him the glory in how He directed our paths together, through serving in ministry together in the Single Adult ministry at Watermark Church in Dallas. We give thanks to our Lord and Savior for leading us to the MBA. Reviewed on 11-03-2018
darcie nicholson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-01-2018 Choosing the Museum of Biblical Art was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Long story short: I love this place, and they're great to work with. The price is fantastic for being in such a great, central location. Most of our guests were traveling in, so having an \"uber-able\" location was my first priority. The vibe is sophisticated without feeling snobby. The exhibits being open all night made for a great alternative for people who weren't into the dance floor :) Hailey and her team were on. top. of. it! Without being pushy at all, they made sure that we were prepared and peaceful for our wedding day. Professionalism meets a personal touch with this staff. Highly organized, highly responsive. I didn't feel like \"just another event\" they were having -- but a very prioritized, meaningful part of their job. It was really important to me that we be able to bring in our own alcohol - they made that super easy. They have plenty of catering options to choose from with vendors for every budget. The space is beautiful on its own without having to bring in much decor. The only thing I would have wanted to change was having more time to set up at the venue. Because it is a functioning museum, they have to be particular about when you can load things in and would charge you for extra hours to set up. It wasn't really a big deal, just a little peeve that took more coordinating on our end. From bride to bride just wanted to give you a heads up! I can't recommend the MBA enough. They made our wedding day a true joy. Reviewed on 08-02-2018

My husband and I hosted our wedding reception at the museum in July and everything was beautifully managed and well done. The staff we worked with was kind, helpful, and very responsive. My sincerest thanks to Kathy Nickel and Hailey Smith! There was no red tape or hoops to jump through--everything was clear and the process was very simple. All of our guests were amazed with the ballroom and the uplighting adds a wonderful effect. The staff truly worked magic. Thank you so much! Reviewed on 31-10-2017
Tracey Watson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2017 ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I had my wedding and reception here on September 2, 2017 and it was wonderful. From our very first tour visit to the very end, the staff (Hailey and Kathy) made sure every need was met! The ballroom and atrium are gorgeous. We are still receiving wonderful compliments on how beautiful everything was. Due to our large wedding size we held the wedding and reception in the ballroom and cocktail hour was in the atrium. The guests loved the atrium while the ballroom was being flipped. We were able to bring in the caterer, bartenders, alcohol, DJ, all floral, ceremony backdrop, cake, dessert, etc. The only thing the venue required us to use of theirs were the table linen and napkin lines. BUT they are so great - if they didn’t have the exact color you were looking for then you could bring in your own linen and they have a lot to choose from! Their venue rental price was exactly what we were looking for as we wanted to keep costs under control. Hailey was right there every step of the way. We changed the table layout a few times even up to a couple weeks before the big day and each change was met with a smile and a quick turn around on emailing us the new layout. We even had a couple meetings were we were running late and each time Hailey/Kathy did not rush us or say we had to end on the scheduled time, they let us take our time and go over everything. We couldn’t ask for anything more. This is a hidden gem in Dallas and we are so happy we had our special day here and to say in a gorgeous museum. They have specials and you can also have a couple of galleries opened during your cocktail hour so your guests can tour as well.I would definitely recommend MBA anytime a bride to be is looking for a venue. It's a hidden gem in Dallas and a venue you and your guests will be wow'ed by. It was one of the most affordable options in the area, especially since you can bring in your own alcohol and work off of their extensive vendor list. Our wedding reception was more beautiful and perfect than we could imagine. It's such a unique venue that requires little decoration since the space itself is a piece of art (also a cheap plus!). We heard so much positive feedback from our guests on how much they enjoyed looking at the art during cocktail hour and the entire ambiance of the reception. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone in Dallas looking for an indoor venue and an incredible experience. Me and my (now) husband were so happy! The MBA did not disappoint. We went to a cookie cutter venue before we toured the museum. There was no question when we walked in a saw the atrium where the ceremony would be held that the museum was the place we would get married. The event staff were professional and very accommodating to my special requests. We were able to bring in our own caterer, bartenders, DJ, and much more. We only had to choose the reception linens from the Museum which were trendy and beautiful. The day of the wedding, the ceremony and reception space was breathtaking thanks to my wedding coordinator and MBA event staff. It was everything that our daughter wanted it to be. All of the coordinators were more than helpful. We especially enjoyed working with Annie as she and Meghan had gone to school together. There were a couple of little hiccups in the end stages of planning but the staff immediately stepped up to help resolve these issues in a gracious and helpful manner. A windy cold front blew into town just as the reception was getting underway and the power went out in the neighborhood. No worries! This was perfect because without her we may have left everything for the last minute. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to hold an event. We received lots of compliments from our guests, saying that it was one of the loveliest weddings they had ever been to… It is truly a unique venue with classical and contemporary art. You have to visit the space to really get a sense of this. As I am an artist and work in the arts, this was really important to me.\rThe museum is also in a central location in Dallas, easily accessible, safe for guests with free parking. \rYou have lots of options in working with them-from caterers, to florists, etc. This is a big plus when you are working within a budget. Amanda Comrie(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-10-2014 I will be honest, the process up to the wedding was quite stressful. I'm pretty easy going, but there were times where I was feeling a bit anxious about how everything was coming together. The museum was very accommodating when it came to meeting with me; however, I felt like every time, I was talking to someone new and I had to repeat myself. Also, the files weren't very organized, such as older versions of the layouts existing in the file still, and not properly dated to indicate the most current version. Towards the end though, I had the most wonderful assistant help me. She listened to all my requests and went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. The result was AMAZING! They provided free up-lights that made a huge difference (normally $20/per), the linens were beautiful, and I was fortunate to have stunning paintings in the ballroom. Everyone was taken back by how beautiful the venue was. Also, it is a much better deal than a lot of other locations in Dallas. I would definitely recommend them, but a note of precaution that you may need some patience to get through the process. Reviewed on 14-01-2015
Adrienne Peoples(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-05-2015 The museum in itself is lovely. The wedding coordinator on the other hand; if there was a star deduction I would most certainly select that. I’ve been working with Rebecca Harris. I've been to the venue numerous times and although confirmed and scheduled; each meeting seems as though it is unplanned. She is never prepared and tends to put her responsibilities off onto others. She is hard to get in contact with and is very lazy. I even reached out to the Director of the museum to setup a meeting in attempts to rectify the situation and request a new coordinator, but I never received a response from him which is totally unprofessional. He could have even responded with a generic lie like ‘I will look into this matter’. Rebecca has repeatedly rescheduled my design dates and does not do the things that she says she is going to. Most recently after contacting her about never being able to complete my design day to select my linens, she sent me a rushed \"mock setup\" (that I had no input in even though I thought it was MY wedding and money being spent) that she had one of her assistants throw together using the same linens that I had seen on our first meeting in October even though I had given her a list of the linens that I wanted to see which did NOT include those. It was horrible. She has turned this whole experience into a tragic nightmare. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone as long as she is in charge of coordinating. I tried requesting a refund and just parting ways to which she declined and merely suggested that I change my wedding date. Why should I have to change my date because of someone else’s short comings and lack of structure? I read a review after the fact that mirrored everything that I was experiencing. I wish I had seen it sooner. Ladies we invest too much time, money, and effort into our special day to allow someone that we are paying ruin it; some of us have even dreamed of this since childhood. I hope my loss will be one of you gorgeous gals’ gain. As for me, it is back to the drawing board because I refuse to give this venue anymore of my time or money. There is sooo much more to post/say but The Knot only allows you so many characters :-/ Reviewed on 12-01-2015
Leah Black(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-12-2014 First let me say that our wedding was gorgeous and I loved it so much. Nothing went wrong and it was the most fun night! But the coordinators and the staff at the biblical art museum are horribly disorganized. We had to drive up to the museum after we had finalized everything for the wedding because the event coordinator had lost all of our info. That was just the beginning. There was a new coordinator working with us, but she's the one who lost everything. I think she got fired because when our wedding came around 4 months later, she no longer worked for them. So I had a day of event coordinator that k had never met before working with me at the rehearsal the day before. They priced things out (linens) incorrectly but we ended up getting them for free since they told us an incorrect price. Like I said, it was beautiful and such a flawless event, but they STRESSED me out in the planning process! Reviewed on 07-01-2015

Taylor Crosby(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-10-2013 The Museum of Biblical Art is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL venue. It makes me so sad that they do not have an event manager who has her act together. The event manager, Rebecca Harris, is very hard to work with. There were several times that I sent her an email and never got a response. When we set up meetings with her to go over the linens and lighting, we never actually met with her but instead with one of her part-time assistants. The problem was every time we met with a different part-time person, we had to go over EVERYTHING again. It was very frustrating even though I know they were all doing their best, but it's too time consuming when you have to repeat everything at every meeting. We had our final meeting 1 week before the wedding and I thought that everything was set, but then I got an email on the day before the wedding from Rebecca confirming the lighting. I just don't understand why she wouldn't have \"confirmed\" that in the week before the wedding. It was lucky that I was reading emails the day before the wedding. I just love everything else about the museum and it was great that you can bring in your own alcohol, but it is such a shame that it is run so poorly. It just adds more stress to a high stress event.\r\rWe also, as part of the event contract, paid for a security officer. We found out later that he is not allowed to patrol the parking lot and we had a car broken into during the wedding! The museum staff insisted that it was a rare occurrence, but the security guard told us that it has happened 3 times in the last 6 months! That would have been good to know before hand. \r\rI can't say that I would recommend this venue for a wedding, unless you have a wedding planner so you (as the bride) don't have to deal with the disorganized museum staff. Kudos to Rebecca and the staff; and keep up the great work. \r\rAshlie Nicole Cramer Reviewed on 24-07-2013
Risa Lewis(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2013 The venue is absolutely beautiful. The service from the events coordinator, however, was the worst experience. She went months without returning my phone calls and emails, only returned them when I called the manager of the museum. She also lost all of my vendor's paperwork two weeks before my wedding. Luckily the venue is so pretty, or else I would have taken my money and left. After my wedding, she tried to bribe my mom into giving a \"nice\" review for a Cheesecake Factory coupon. Denise Hodges(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-05-2013 We has a wonderful experience all round from start to finish at the Museum of Biblical Art. Every staff member from the event managers to the front desk were all helpful, professional and courteous. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and to make our experience at a great one. Rebecca Harris (event manager) and her secretary Marina were awesome. Friendly, easy-going, and just a joy to work with. We're so happy we chose the Museum for our wedding. The venue is beautiful, well maintained, and has a friendly staff. Our guests were impressed and we all enjoyed this great venue. Reviewed on 13-06-2013
Cassidy Turrentine(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2012 I used to visit the museum when I was younger, before it burned. I always said I wanted to get married there, even before I knew that was possible. I knew it had burned, but never went back to see the remodel. My newlywed friend was so excited about my engagement, she wanted me to go to an open house. I fell in love, but knew I could not afford it. I went home, crunched numbers and found out, I could! We were so excited we signed then and there.\rAt first, it was hard to get ahold of the coordinator via e-mail. Right before and after the wedding though, they were VERY accessible.\rI did not use their lighting and linens, for I had already booked those through other vendors and did not have to use them at the time.\rWe decided not to flip the room and have people sit at tables durning the ceremony and reception. The event people were a little thrown off by that and it needed some tweaking on the wedding day. We also used their candelabras and wanted them somewhere else and they were skeptical of it, but it ended up being fine. \rThe set up ended up being beautiful and perfect. There were no problems from there on out. It was so romantic. The BEST part about the museum, NO DECORATING! We used lighting, linens and minimal flowers because the place is so gorgeous as it is.\rOn the wedding day, they have the bride's room set up any way you want (including subfreezing temperatures). It was a beautiful day and I couldn't ask for a better venue. It was very accessible to all of our out of town guests and they loved it! Even the people that were in town had not been there. \rMy only complaint is the event staff. Some are hard to understand and non of them are very up to date with wedding trends. None of them had heard of a wedding in the round, they didn't quite understand my vision and I had to bring my girls to get the point across, but they were very accommodating nonetheless. I wish they had a younger person on staff that could see visions of all brides. I was also fortunate enough to use other linens and lighting rather than theirs. I was not too impressed with what they had to offer, but I signed up at the right time.\rI overall loved my venue and thought my wedding was gorgeous and perfect. It is easy to go overboard with the decorating, but it is best to let the museum speak for itself! Reviewed on 24-10-2012

Museum has several different areas, so you will have many options to work with. I had my wedding ceremony + dinner reception in the grand ballroom, and it was perfect for my Christian wedding. Rebecca and the staffs are very helpful and hard working. From day 1, they were very pleasant and willing to work with us, cared about what we really wanted and with Rebecca's help, WE GOT IT. They work well with vendors and even helped vendors job. They have great list of vendors(great service and affordable) and I ended up working with 3 companies from their vendors list. Oh and another big plus is it's in the greatest location, right next to north park mall, who has trouble finding it? Sincere thank you to Rebecca and the staffs from Mihi + Simon! Kaylan Brushwood(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-05-2010 I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Museum of Biblical Art. The Museum is gorgeous - our guests gave us numerous compliments on how unique and beautiful it was. I had around 225 guests, and everyone fit inside the main gallery with plenty of room for a dance floor. For as amazing as the building was, I had trouble with the staff leading up to the wedding day. The wedding coordinator was often irritable and difficult to work with - she walked out on a meeting with my fiance and I two weeks before the wedding. When we signed the contract, she said she could help with all kinds of other things, and every time I asked she would never get back to me, leaving me to do it myself (ie finding a pianist, arranging tuxedos). She snapped at my mother in law on the rehearsal day for showing up half an hour before the rehearsal - when she had told us we could arrive early to drop things off for the wedding the next day. Just be prepared for a beautiful venue for a decent price, but a coordinator that is sometimes difficult to deal with - and read your contract VERY carefully! Reviewed on 12-08-2010
