From the second we met with the staff of the museum of science and toured the venue we fell in love with the idea of having our wedding there. We were so excited to have the opportunity of an outdoor wedding under a veranda with the city of Boston in the background. It gave us the opportunity to have such fantastic photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We were also thrilled that a portion of what we paid went to charity as that is so important to us! The museum gives you so many options where you can have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception so it is perfect for everyone. The thing we will remember the most about the museum, however, is the staff. I don’t know if I can fully put into words how lucky we were to have Sage and Sheryl. Calling Sage the lead catering manager doesn’t do it justice. She is the ultimate hype woman and cares so deeply about your experience. She was so fun to spend time with during the tasting and will always be remembered as an exciting addition to our wedding. There was a moment during our first look photos that she came over to us to ask if we needed anything and got us food. Just a little thing we did not expect that made our experience that much more enjoyable. We met Sheryl a little later into our experience with planning the wedding at the museum. We could tell from our first conversation with her that she brought just as much energy and excitement as Sage. She was so knowledgeable about the whole wedding experience and made it much less stressful on us. Looking back on our whole experience we wouldn’t trade having them be a part of our planning for anything. We will always look back fondly on our interactions with them. I still vividly remember them being SO excited when my wife and I were walking down the aisle after our ceremony and joining us on the dance floor later in the night. I never would expect our wedding planner and caterer to be such a lively addition to our wedding. They made the best day of our lives even that much better! Reviewed on 21-01-2024

I'm long overdue on what I aim to be the most gushing review about a wedding venue out there. As a bride coordinating her own wedding (no planner) from across the country, the Museum of Science was a top notch venue with such professional service. With rain in forecast on the weekend of the wedding, Sheryl jumped into action to make some gorgeous changes that kept my guests dry, happy and all with the ambiance I was looking for. I would encourage anyone needing a space for 130+ guest to review the Washburn Pavillion as an option - it was everything I wanted. Thank you so much to the whole Museum of Science team for making my wedding dreams come true! Reviewed on 22-12-2023

Our experience at Washburn Pavilion for our August wedding was nothing short of magical. From start to finish, the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop for our special day.Brianna, the initial coordinator, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She effortlessly handled all our requests with minimal back and forth, making the planning process a breeze. Unfortunately, she left the day before our wedding, so I can't speak to the new staff, but if they follow Brianna's example, you're in good hands. The warm summer night, accompanied by a beautiful sunset, set the perfect tone for our celebration. The venue's lawn was the ideal spot for games, adding a playful touch to the festivities. The dance floor under the twinkling lights created a romantic ambiance that enhanced the joy of the evening. If your budget allows, I highly recommend doubling the bistro lights for an even more enchanting atmosphere. One standout aspect was the exclusive caterer, MAX, who delivered an insane culinary experience. The food was exquisite, and the service impeccable. Sage, who worked alongside MAX, was fantastic and contributed to the overall success of the event.I would undoubtedly choose Washburn Pavilion for another event and replicate the experience without hesitation. This speaks volumes about the venue's quality and its ability to host unforgettable celebrations. Reviewed on 09-11-2023

We had our wedding ceremony in late October in the Washburn Pavilion and the reception immediately after in the adjacent tent and it was a great experience. We worked with Brianna and Sheryl for much of the planning process and we were impressed with their attention to detail and level of responsiveness in the ~16 months between booking the venue and the event itself. Sheryl especially took care of all the coordination with the various vendors, which was very appreciated in the weeks leading up to the event. In addition, they were able to work with us to figure out our floor plan and table arrangements for the reception, which required some clever table combinations to suit the number of guests that we had at each table. Sheryl arranged for a dance floor to be set up in the pavilion, and even helped us find easels for some artwork that we wanted to have on display during the wedding. The pavilion is a space that really requires little more in way of decoration; it is simply beautiful in and of itself, and the river views were amazing as we timed our ceremony and cocktail hour with golden hour and the sunset. Though we were wary about the weather, we got lucky that our big day was unseasonably warm - a relief especially since we eschewed renting heaters, which was quoted to be ~5k. Reviewed on 08-11-2023

An unbelievable experience from my initial inquiry all the way through to the execution of the final event, our wedding! Sheryl and the museum team were incredibly responsive to all emails and questions before the big day and given that there was a hurricane forecasted for the day of, we’re EXTREMELY flexible and communicative with what plan a, b and c would look like. We were able to stick to most of the original plan of having our wedding outside on the Washburn Pavilion and all of the wedding guests could not get over the views and ambiance. Although we did need to move our ceremony inside to the Skyline room, the views of Boston were still breathtaking.Throughout the wedding night, the museum staff were on hand to answer any question, no matter how small, and ensured that the night went off without a hitch. The dance floor was huge, the meals and drinks were delicious and the entire night is something our guests and ourselves will never forget.I can’t recommend the MoS more for a wedding or other special event because the venue is so memorable and the team/staff so incredible! We loved hosting our wedding celebration at the MOS. Their outdoor space is BEAUTIFUL and has great variety -- grassy area where you can set up lawn games and cocktail hour, pavilion for dancing, tent for dinner, and of course it all abuts the river for wonderful views of Boston. The team is great at what they do and very hands on in ensuring your day runs smoothly. One negative point for awareness -- their venue fee is relatively low for a Boston city venue, but the fees to add any additional time for setup or a longer party are ridiculously high (an additional 30% tacked on to the venue fee PER hour). If you have any sort of lighting, floral installations, etc., many vendors likely need more time than what the Museum allots for setup so just something to keep in mind. Reviewed on 14-09-2023

Monica Estrada(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2023 Brianna and the staff at Museum of Science were great and instrumental of making our wedding reception to run so smoothly. We got married off location and only used the museum for cocktail hour and reception. The staff made the craziness of the wedding weekend so simple. We dropped our reception items off the day before and then came to the museum after our wedding ceremony to see the museum setup like the layouts that Brianna and I designed together. It was so amazing to see our vision come to life and not have to be involved in the actual execution of the transformation. Then at the end of the night the staff packaged up all our items and had them ready in the cart to be loaded in the car so we could say proper goodbye to our guests and not worrying about having to pick everything up. Michael Page(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2022 Top line: we were married outside under the pavilion and tent, and it was a fun, unique, and gorgeous venue. Pros:-gorgeous view from the venue-many guests hadn't attended a wedding here, so it was unique and memorable-Museum was very responsive during the entire process, which I very much appreciated-plenty of opportunity to be creative and make the space your own.Cons-you are required to use a particular caterer, which is quite expensive (though, like the Museum, catering company was very responsive and accommodating, which was great)-Museum is very rigid in its policies. Even something as simple as parking a car overnight in the garage, or picking up items the day after the event, were not possible. As someone in customer service, who works specifically with couples getting married, I found this perplexing. There would be easy ways for the Museum to make small concessions that go a long way-somewhat related: set up and clean up times are tight, and it costs to build in extra time-while it didn't disrupt the excellence of the evening, the arrival to the venue day of was a cluster. We had our ceremony in the Skyline Room, and our cocktail hour/reception in the Blue Wing. Without any prior experience with wedding planning, the Museum was incredible at the two major parts of making the event go off without a hitch: preparation and execution. From our first conversation, it was super clear that they were incredibly organized, and had a system for managing the planning process that worked well. They were super easy to work with over email and calls, and did a TON of background coordination with our vendors leading up to the event. We always felt like we knew what we needed to provide the Museum in terms of event details and when, which was a huge pressure relief for us. In terms of event execution, we definitely couldn't have asked for a better night. The Museum coordinators worked with all our vendors and did a ton of decoration work that really made the evening flow seamlessly and feel personal. In reflecting upon the event, it really is remarkable how little we thought about the logistics of the event once it kicked off-- we definitely took it for granted and it is a testament to all the organization and effort happening around us. One of the best compliments we received on our wedding was that it felt very \"us,\" which can really only be accomplished if the team executing the event is really executing not only our vision for the event, but doing it so well that we didn't have to worry about a single logistical piece (apart from gathering family for photos lol). Very receptive to feedback and special requests. The tent / pavilion setup is a great way to be outside but relatively protected from the elements. The breeze off the water made for a lovely summer night (it can get pretty windy). Very LGBT friendly and flexible during the planning process. Free parking for guests and easy to access on the T / by car, making the logistics fairly straightforward.Cons: A lot of staff turnover - in the ~2 years where we had contracted a date, there were at least 4 different coordinators / caterers we cycled through, which resulted in some details getting mixed up. It did end up raining during a portion of our wedding, and although the space itself remained dry, the setup made the pavilion feel somewhat cramped and rushed (cocktail tables without centerpieces, several floral pieces moved and misplaced, etc). Boy, did the museum deliver!!! We had our ceremony in the skyline room and reception in the Blue Wing. This is a review for our MoS wedding on Saturday, 6/10/17. In one word: amazing. We decided on the Washburn Pavilion given our larger party size and how beautiful the outdoor venue is. The MoS atrium had just been completed/renovated before our wedding, and made for a beautiful entrance for our guests and some of our official wedding pictures. It really takes advantage of the cityscape/Charles River and is the point of entry for guests, so we were thrilled with how modern and beautiful the renovated area is. In terms of specific pros/cons:PROS-The staff: Sheryl White, Amber Dandy - fantastic to work with, very responsive and prompt in their responses to our *many* questions over a 12-month planning period. The day-of staff included a main wedding-day coordinator, Lisa, who saw to our every need and preference from getting some of each appetizer, keeping our drinks full, cueing us for dances/speeches to keep the timeline flowing, rolling up the tent sidings to bring in fresh air, and even reminding us to eat and enjoy the time too! Lisa also bailed out the wedding party with a first-aid kit and area to cool off before the venue. They really took care of us. The catering staff was meticulous and attentive. I have nothing but positive memories of how hard the staff worked to make our day wonderful. -The venue: we went for outdoor ceremony and reception. Full disclosure, it was a gamble on our part as we didn't have a firm back-up plan for inclement weather aside from moving the entire reception into the tent. This would have been a shame because the backdrop of the river and ample space for guests to roam and sip on cocktails is really one of the best parts of the venue. I was worried about reports of the pavilion being extremely windy during the ceremony, but we really had no issues. They advise against an aisle-runner which for us was no big deal, our lighting and floral vendors just decorated with poseys and lanterns instead - looked great. If the weather is nice for your wedding, the MoS will be worth every cent - it was fantastic. -The food: Wolfgang Puck catering. Yum yum yum. We splurged on halibut and filet mignon. The midnight snacks were also delicious.-The perks: MoS admission passes for all guests on the weekend of the wedding. So cool! Parking is included for guests and vendors, very convenient.CONS-Bathrooms: could use a renovation. The most accessible bathrooms for the Washburn space are rather dated and have no counter space. You also walk by a live animal exhibit to get to them. The only thing that doesn't really fit with the rest of the ambience of the venue.-Tent interior: a little bare. We decided to spring for draping because the tent framework is industrial-appearing and aside from the circular lanterns the MoS does not provide any additional decor for the tent. Will cost you $$$. For us, the drapes with some uplighting and good flowers made the tent look gorgeous. Overall we loved our wedding and given the same choices, would choose MoS again in a heartbeat. Great place and memories. Strongly recommend! Reviewed on 31-12-2017

We truly felt that the whole team was invested in helping us realize our hopes for our wedding day. All of the preparation work leading up the big day was so organized and great in helping us to decide what elements were truly important to us. Katie and Hollie were amazing in helping us decide on the flow of the day and the menu for the event. On the day of, we had no stress about the flow of the day or any details because the staff was so well prepared, friendly, and attentive. Our day of coordinator, Lisa was amazing, it is clear that she loves her job. From keeping us on schedule, to ensuring we were able to get some awesome wedding shots in the museum, to maintaining a calming presence to help us feel as relaxed and in the moment as possible, she was on top of everything. As examples of what I consider to be above and beyond: one of our guests stubbed her toe and a staff member helped her get all patched up and my husband and I only learned about it 3 weeks later. Planning was made easy and efficient, and the MOS team was always highly responsive to our needs and questions throughout the process. In fact, the \"soup to nuts\" organizing of the Museum made it easy for us to forgo using an outside wedding planner - everything was perfectly orchestrated on the day of the wedding, and we're glad this was one 'added expense' we could avoid entirely! The aesthetic of the venue was also awesome -- classy enough to appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes, but also plenty modern and \"eclectic\" enough to score high on the \"creative / unique\" end of the wedding venue spectrum. We did hire outside lighting specialists to help further enhance the space, which we were happy with with and would recommend... helped transform 'museum lighting' into a truly special 'event space.' Food was delicious... the integration of MOS and Wolfgang Puck works really well, as you know the food preparation is in the hands of the pros, directly on-site. Just supply the cake! Overall... incredibly happy with our decision to host the big day at MOS, and received countless compliments from our guests to reinforce this! We were married on 25Jun2016 and the ceremony/cocktail hour were outside in the back of the museum under the Washburn Pavillion, complete with riverside views, and our reception was held inside the museum's Blue Wing. The event staff (fearlessly lead by the incomparable Sheryl White Vincent) were amazing every step of the way. Sheryl was so sweet and incredible to work with during the entire process, where she answered every single one of our (so many!) questions with grace and provided sound advice and guidance as to the best way to fulfill our Rock and Roll vision. Seriously, she was (alongside Keith of the museum's Wolfgang Puck Catering) the most professional vendor we worked with for our wedding, HANDS DOWN! Sheryl communicated quickly and effectively, advised wonderful changes/additions to fit how we wanted our day to unfold, and lead us through the entire ewedding planning process with the calm focus of an experienced planner. Also, Sheryl's \"Day-Of\" event staff were helpful, observant, impeccable, and super nice to boot. WPC is their in-house caterer that you're required to use, but that was fine by us because their food was PHENOMENAL!! Every bite was incredibly delicious, from the cocktail hors d'oeuvres to the reception entrees, sides, and desserts. Typically, wedding fare can be bland, cold, or just plain bad, but Keith and WPC completely put our fears to rest with the most scrumptious event spread we've ever had. We thought it all came out simply perfect and our guests RAVED for days and weeks afterwards about everything. Dana Moyer(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2017 Excellent! Please forgive me if I use the word amazing too many times. Under the excellent and expert Director of Events (Sheryl White Vincent), the Museum of Science is a unique, amazing and beautiful venue. The wedding took place in the Planetarium literally under the stars with our own custom music perfectly produced and coordinated by Dani. The cocktail hour took place in the Pavilion and the reception took place in the adjoining tent. This venue is along the beautiful Charles river. The photo ops (as if dinosaurs, space capsules, and a stunning multi-floor to ceiling staircase in the Museum itself isn’t enough!) are numerous and gorgeous. During the day you have the water, sun and boats…in the evening you have the moonlight on the water and the beautiful Boston skyline. The Pavilion is very weather tolerant so it takes the stress out of the weather factor. My daughter’s wedding was during the second hottest temperature in Boston history for that date. NO PROBLEM. There was a breeze by the water, large capacity fans in the tent and massive Pavilion shade. There were no issues at all.Wolfgang Puck Catering (WPC) is the exclusive caterer for the museum. The food is excellent. Hors d’oeuvres are plentiful. I seldom have been at a wedding where I turned away platters during the cocktail hour but no one was hungry here. WPC will “a la carte items” so they can accommodate any budget. Hollie from WPC was also very good about accommodating last minute additions. In the last 2 weeks before the wedding I wanted to add a station to the cocktail hour. They can do almost anything and we had trouble choosing between a bacon bar and gourmet grilled cheeses in the shape of dinosaurs. When we chose the grilled cheese option, we were pleasantly surprised to find it came with homemade tomato soup and hand cut potato chips. Everything is done with that little something extra. Lastly, I can’t say enough about the staff. Sheryl has become an honorary member of the family and Lisa (the event coordinator) is phenomenal. Her calm authoritative demeanor just permeates the reception and keeps everything on track and enjoyable. Everything about this venue had the perfect blend of fun, elegance and excellent service. Even when I sent emails with a bulleted list of 6+ questions, they were thorough in their responses, and if they didn't have the answer, they told me exactly who they were contacting to find out (although this was a rare occurrence, mostly related to our ceremony in the planetarium). When we met in person, the meetings were easygoing, like having conversations with old friends. We never felt any pressure to do anything specific, to spend extra money on upgrades to the menu or the space, and any budgetary concerns we had were met with respect and suggested swaps/areas to save.Lisa, our day-of coordinator was also incredibly helpful from beginning to end. She offered suggestions to add more lighting to our planetarium ceremony without compromising the integrity of the actual planetarium show, and even scoured their own closets to look for LED pillar candles so we didn't have to buy so many ourselves at the last minute. She was precise, punctual, and detail-oriented--all of the markings of a great coordinator! There were only two things that were a little bit of a bummer--some of our guests felt like the entree portions were a little on the small side (which is something that is completely subjective, person to person), but the more 'serious' of the two things is that our bridal party missed out on the hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour because we were taking photos. We finished with about 15 or so minutes left of the cocktail hour and when we went upstairs, they all went to the Skyline room and when they asked the servers about the hors d'oeuvres, they were told that there were no more. While the groom & I had someone who brought us a plate of appetizers during the photos, it seemed unfair that they didn't bring a larger tray to have some for the bridal party as well, considering that they were just as hungry as we were.Between Sheryl, Keith and Lisa, we were left with nothing to worry about. While I naturally fret over everything, there was nothing for me to panic over, which is the best case scenario on your wedding day. They worked diligently to make sure every piece was in its place before the wedding day, and even when a couple of minor things came down to the wire, everything was handled in an efficient manner, so there was no last-minute rushing around. We've heard wonderful things from all of our guests about how beautiful our wedding was, how delicious our food was, and how attentive and professional the staff was. Definitely one of the best weddings I've ever attended and I'm not just saying it because it was mine. \r\rFrom start to finish the event management and catering side works with you. It's important to feel like you have folks you can count on when you're planning such a life changing event. Sheryl is amazing; if you have the opportunity to work with her, do it! You can tell she enjoys her job. We were meshing the south with Latino cuisine and Keith and his guys took care of it. \r\rI don't plan to have another wedding but if I did, I'd definitely give them a ring. Reviewed on 28-10-2015

We and all our guests were extremely pleased with the food and the service.\rI am so happy that we decided to have our wedding reception at MOS and catered by Wolfgang Puck and would highly recommend the venue to anyone. We booked the Skyline Room which has amazing views of the Charles River and Boston skyline. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the room was.\rSheryl and her onsite staff surpassed my expectations which is very hard to do (as anyone that knows me will attest that I have very high expectations which are usually not met, and seldom exceeded) and we thank them for making our special day even more amazing. Stephanie Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-07-2015 BEST WEDDING VENUE, CATERER IN BOSTON. CAN NOT BE BEAT!!!! PERFECT, AMAZING, FABULOUS. \r\rThe Museum of Science was amazing from beginning to end. My husband and I were thrilled with everything from the planning to the execution the day-of and everything in between. It was hands-down the best wedding ever. It was to-die-for. Jessica, our wedding coordinator, was so great at helping us to plan out the details including the set-up and the flow of the day/evening. Having an outdoor area for 200 guests with enough space so that the guests did not feel on top of each other was important to us. She suggested the tent for our dinner with the dance floor set up under the pavilion and the photo booth opposite the DJ. This gave our guests enough room so that we were not all cramped under the tent for everything and also to enjoy the beautiful weather and breeze of the Charles River. Keith, our catering manager for Wolfgang Puck was simply the best. He provided us suggestions for our food choices and set-up and was on-top of all of one-off requests. Especially with my last minute drink tweaks! \r\rBoth Jessica and Keith were super timely in responding to our (many) emails with questions throughout the 8+ months we worked together. I felt if I was missing anything that Jessica would fill in the gap for me! From our first meeting to our last Jessica and Keith were so accommodating, and friendly! Their staff made this process as easy as possible. The venue was perfect, even better than the pictures online. We had a perfect day outside under the tent and pavilion. We couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator or location. I'm so glad it the weather was perfect so guests could enjoy being outside under the pavilion and get beautiful pictures with the views overlooking the Charles River at sunset. \r\rThe day of our wedding couldn't have gone any better. The staff was attentive and was so helpful to my husband and I and our parents and wedding party. I wasn't expecting Jessica or Keith to be there as we had other coordinators but they were there to make sure that our day went off without a hitch. Just AMAZING. Our day-of planner, Lisa, was awesome!! She was everywhere, making sure we had everything we needed, including drinks at all times! Lisa made sure that we got a chance to sit down and actually eat our meals and served us our own personal appetizers during cocktail hour. When my husband left the table for a while to chat with the guests, they made sure that he got a brand new plate since he was gone. And the food was delicious! Even better than the tasting, with the staff cooking 200+ meals! The tomato soup second course with grilled cheese was the best choice even though it was the middle of the summer. So tasty! \r\rI wish I could relive this day over and over again. Thank you to Jessica, Keith, Lisa and everyone at the Museum of Science for making our wedding the best day of our lives. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a perfect wedding day. Our guests still can’t stop raving about the wedding almost two months after. It was AMAZING and everyone is still raving about it! We are a local couple, and our guests were floored by this hidden gem. First of all, the staff is incredible. I worked primarily with Sheryl and Keith, who are prompt and professional, but also really funny and light-hearted. Lisa was my day of coordinator, and kept everything running perfectly, with an accommodating and calm demeanor! The Washburn Pavilion could not have been more breathtaking! The view is amazing.. you are on the Charles in the heart of Boston but it still feels private and quiet. The food was delicious, which we knew from the tasting. Seriously... even the tasting was a great time. The night itself ran smoothly. Just perfect! Everyone working the event checked in to make sure the groom and I were happy. Also noteworthy: our ceremony was at 530pm on a ~ 80-85 degree August eve and the temperature was ideal. There is a refreshing breeze off the Charles which cools the area down about 5 degrees, off the bat. The pavilion is shaded, so it keeps your guests out of the summer sun. I was in a full gown, and was completely comfortable. The tent is open, allowing your guests an incredible view through dinner. Side note: I started a full time, intense, accelerated nursing program in the midst of planning… and I work. Sheryl and Keith were able to keep me on track with planning, while not adding to my stress and overwhelming, which makes them 1099329 star worthy! THANK YOU, MOS! We had the best night of our lives! Then Museum of Science is the venue for you! Aside from picking my husband, picking MoS as the wedding venue was the best decision I've ever made. With the beautiful space and the talented team, they made our wedding day more wonderful than we could have imagined. Not only did they make wedding planning easy, they somehow managed to make it super fun. They are passionate about what they do, are extremely professional and detail-oriented, and above all are just a blast to work with. These guys can't be beat.\rMy personal highlights were the food (our guests are still raving about it), the extremely attentive day-of staff (they made sure my husband and I had drinks in our hands all night) and the extraordinary coordinators (they had a plan for every little detail, letting the whole day go off without a hitch). \rMy favorite moment that showcased their amazing care and coordination was when our day-of coordinator Lisa suspected that some of the food on my plate may have gotten cold while I was talking to the many guests who approached our table during dinner. I told her that it had cooled down during our 20 minutes of talking but was still perfectly delicious. But Museum of Science settles for nothing short of perfection, and Lisa radioed in new hot plates of food for us!!!! I repeat: she radioed in new plates of food for us. We knew we would be in good hands with MoS, but didn't realize the magnitude of their care and attention until we experienced it firsthand. \rOne more favorite moment I want to gush about is when Prisca from Wolfgang Puck Catering magically read my mind and left a cup of herbal tea at my table. How did she know I wanted tea at that very moment?! I can only conclude that to work for MoS events you have to be (a) ex-CIA and/or (b) a psychic.\r\rKeith, Jessica, Lisa, Sheryl, Prisca, Kasey, Margie and all MoS staff: our wedding day was the best day of our lives thanks to your thoughtfulness, professionalism, warmth and good humor. It was for most involved, unconventional, and consequently was initially a difficult concept to consider. However, the staff at the Museum of Science turned their Blue Wing into a beautiful and fun reception venue. The manager of event services, Sheryl, was constantly in contact with us as our plan evolved. She took delivery of all our centerpieces, table cards, favors, etc the day before the wedding and everything was in place exactly how we had wanted it when it was supposed to be there. She even had her staff execute our rather complicated cocktail hour centerpieces (a stack of books with the top one opened with pages forming a heart) combined with a home made atom perched atop the open book. The time line the museum furnished for the event worked flawlessly and staff was at the ready for each event of the evening.\r\rThis literally could have not been a more perfect evening. Many of our guests were not able to participate in continual dancing, but they really enjoyed the ability to stroll around the museum and check out all the exhibits. In the end, everyone who had had reservations about our choice of reception venues was amazed at how beautiful the museum looked and how well everything went that night. A number of people have told me that \"we have been to many weddings that we can't really remember, but we are never going to forget this one\".\r\rA big thank you to the Museum of Science for creating such a special night and a special memory. Elke Blaetz(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-05-2015 The Museum of Science was an amazing place to start life as a married couple, and we recommend it highly to any couples of science. Let's set the scene: springtime afternoon, and the bridal couple walks over the bridge from the Hotel Marlowe, taking some photos along the way. Upon the approach to the Museum in your wedding finery, you are greeted by the applause of friendly schoolchildren sitting outside. Museum staff inside make sure everything is in order, and that your guests will be directed to the ceremony location. They thoughtfully escort you through the exhibits to get unique photos (even gently ushering a little girl out of the Apollo Command Module for a couple of minutes, and giving you some quiet moments with Triceratops Cliff). We weren't so trusting in Boston weather as to reserve the Washburn Pavilion (although it looks lovely). Instead, the d'Arbeloff Suite offers a balcony and breathtaking views of the Charles River and Boston skyline, with the Zakim Bridge visible on the opposite bank of windows. The room was an intimate location for our reception, and the balcony was great for photos. We were able to make special arrangements (thanks ever so much to the gracious Museum team) to host our ceremony in the Theater of Electricity, complete with lightning show!!!! (Added bonus - the Girl Scouts staying overnight, congratulating us on our way through the Museum.) Our guests thought this was the best wedding ever, and that was even before they had their cocktails, wine, and food from Wolfgang Puck Catering. The chef delivered on cultural influences from my family, and still ensured we had some adventurous entrees. Keith Mahoney magically procured refined German riesling, white asparagus, and schnitzel, balanced with those fantastic Spago signature tuna tartare sesame miso cones. Meanwhile, Sheryl White Vincent coordinated a crack team of wedding day problem-solvers, who ensured the room looked gorgeous, people were happy, and everything was in its proper place. It was so much fun that we would do it all over again. We already want to emulate the gentleman who celebrated his 75th birthday in the Washburn Pavilion! The only regret that we have about the Museum is their lack of a public \"fine dining\" restaurant, where we could return to celebrate our anniversary every year. Reviewed on 22-05-2015

The thank you letter we sent afterwards pretty well covers it:\r\rKeith, all of the guests commented that you guys were amazing.\r\rLisa was terrific. She graciously received the guests as they came in, taking care of the parking passes with impressive, quiet efficiency, and then staying quietly in the background, yet still alerting me to the important issues. Always comforting to know that Lisa was there, watching over all.\r\rAnd your table servers were superlative. Standing in a circle and then delivering everyone’s entree at the same time was something marvelous to behold. Your team demonstrated that with impeccable teamwork and timing, and with extraordinary grace and poise. I was thinking at the time that pulling that off takes considerable staffing. So I don’t know where the extra staffing charges came in, but if that is what it was for, it was worth every penny - and your were probably wise in not alerting me to that up front, as I would have said, “If that is all the extra staff is for, that would not be necessary.” And that would have been a huge mistake on my part. But I’m guessing you needed all of that staff anyway based on the headcount, and that you were able to make this happen by your traditional well-thought-out organization and execution plan. \r\rAnd last and not least of course, were the dishes your chefs prepared and your staff served. Completely as advertised, absolutely delicious. Everyone had nothing but raves. \r\rIn sum, You, CP, and Lisa are all great salespeople and representatives of the MOS-Wolfgang Puck team. CP with her marvelous charm and personality was easily enough to close the deal for us. However, since You and Lisa we were to later discover are equally impressive, the only fine touch I would suggest adding to your program would be to find a way to also introduce you, or at least one of you, even if briefly, at the initial meeting, if possible. I know you are all busy and will often have different schedules, but if and when you can pull it off, I would recommend it. As it was, we walked into the event having that slight question, “I wonder how good these people are really going to be?” But that is an extremely minor point. We knew you were going to be good. \r\rSo thanks much to all of you from Katharina and I, not to mention the now bride and groom. A job exquisitely well done. \r\rAnd yes, relay same to your bosses, but equally important, please relay this thanks to your entire high-performance team. Your front line team did good indeed. From the moment we contacted CP, the museum of science coordinator, and Keith, WPC catering manager, we couldn't have felt more accepted and well taken care of. For this we are so thankful! \r\rMy wife and I wanted a Boston venue with views which we quickly learned came with a very expensive price tag. It was by sheer luck that we looked at the MoS. We had our first date there and when we discovered they did weddings, we decided to explore all our options. From my first contact with CP she was precise, organized and extremely responsive; we never waited longer than a few hours to hear back from her. She also put me in contact with Keith to get a feel for the catering costs so we didn't fall in love with a space attached to a catering contract we couldn't afford. Keith was a sweetheart from day one. He never made us feel pressured to spend more than we had and did whatever he could to accommodate our palates while being conscious of our wallets. In one word, Keith is a doll. ;)\r\rWe chose the views over the exhibits and hosted our ceremony and reception in the Skyline Room for a winter evening wedding. Guests were excited to hear that the wedding was at the MoS and completely surprised when they saw the views from the 6th floor. We got so many compliments on the space and originality. Let's face it, when you think MoS you might not think classy wedding venue-and you'd be wrong. This space is the epitome of class: floor to ceiling windows overlooking the entire city and Charles River with the room itself being a blank canvas for you to express your own style-no heinous rug patterns from the 80s or awful hotel wall art. A breath of fresh air, really!\r\rI cannot put into words how amazing the room looked the night of the wedding, how well appointed to we were, how organized the staff was or how everything went off without a problem. This is top notch service for a more than reasonable price and when you consider that it is in Boston with views, a downright steal. A guest who had been to a wedding in the State Room gushed at how the view was 100x better from the Skyline Room, and I couldn't agree more. Margie and Lisa were the coordinators the night of the wedding and they were on their game from the moment we walked in to the time we stepped out. Margie was even nice enough to hunt down my dad for my lipstick! \r\rI can't leave a review without mentioning the food. It was fantastic. I watched people return over and over again to the buffet with heaping plates of food. We are tough critics, and I don't have one complaint. I would be happy to pay for the meal we were given at any of the top restaurants in Boston-and we have been to them all. \r\rIf size is a worry for you, let it not be. We had 86 people in the room and it was more than enough space. It felt cozy and intimate, but never crowded-something I was worried about the entire time leading up to the big day!\r\rAll in all our night was perfect. I never felt stressed when working with anyone at the museum or WPC. They know what they are doing and I would put them up against any wedding planners in Boston. We hosted an evening wedding reception for our son in the Skyline Room. Located on the top floor with two walls of glass, the venue offers spectacular views of the city and the Charles River. Guests commented that they felt they were dancing in the stars! It was gorgeous! In the 10 years I have been planning events, this experience was the most perfect. CP and Keith were not only professional, efficient, and extremely capable, they also made me feel that they were really vested in my event. From my first phone call requesting information to the moment the event concluded, everything was handled expertly and exactly as I had requested. My room design requests were extremely specific and each detail was attended to exactly. When I entered the room prior to the event, there was one small error in table setting....it was rectified immediately, with no stress to me. My design requests for the dessert buffet were executed exactly as requested as were all other instructions. I am truly impressed with their attention to detail and their ability to follow through. I have never before had such an easy time translating my vision into reality...these guys are PROS!\r\rWorking with CP on room design was a joy. Every question or request I sent her was answered immediately. Room layouts, table dimensions, counter measurements, etc....all information was emailed to me as soon as she received the request. CP not only is a wiz at what she does, but she does it all with a gracious manner and huge smile. \r\rSince I was hosting this party for some serious foodies, the menu and quality of the food was critical. The food was high end, restaurant quality....absolutely fabulous! From the first bite of the first appetizer to the last crumb from the dessert buffet, the dining experience was exceptional!! The food and presentation was exquisite! Guests gushed all night about the food and the service....and are STILL talking about the event, days later. Keith Mahoney is a magician! Working with him was a gift! He not only created a fantastic menu for us, but his execution was impeccable! He gave particular attention to my son's entree and made sure it was absolute perfection...which is WAS!! His attention to detail was evident throughout the evening as his staff worked the dinner service with extreme precision. Katie was positively marvelous managing the waitstaff....someone who clearly understood how particular I am and who made sure everything was perfectly executed. :) The evening flowed along seamlessly....everything was exactly as I had hoped! \r\rI highly recommend the MOS! The whole process was fun....and the result was SPECTACULAR! I was able to enjoy my evening and dance the night away without a care ....on one of the happiest evenings of my life!!\r Reviewed on 24-09-2013

We cannot tell you how impressed we were with the event planning staff and the catering staff every single step of the way. Cheryl and Keith answered all our questions promptly and accommodated every request we had and we never expected that our wedding day would go as smoothly as it did. Every task (presents gathered, cake packed, etc.) we had to do was done before we knew it! Lisa, the day-of coordinator, kept us on schedule but never made us feel stressed or rushed. We highly highly recommend the Museum for a wedding or any other event.\r\rOn top of the excellent customer service, the venue is amazing! Our guests loved the views in the Skyline Room during our ceremony and everyone had a blast in the Blue Wing during the reception. It was amazing seeing the Museum transform into our wedding venue. Keith, CP, and Katie did an amazing job of coordinating all the details and keeping the process as stress free as possible. It was wonderful to know that I didn't have to worry about any of the details the day of the wedding because we had the wonderful MOS staff taking care of it all. We did some special lighting in the tent for the reception and the staff was great at helping us make our lighting vision come to life! Kim Geier(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-07-2013 My husband and I just got married a few weeks ago and held both our ceremony and reception at the Museum of Science in the Washburn Pavilion. The Pavilion is outside behind the museum. The reception was under a tent while the ceremony was in a covered area right next to the tent. Looking out, you have a beautiful view of both Boston and Cambridge as well as the Charles Rive. There was a great breeze all night long to keep from getting too hot.\rI can't even begin to describe how wonderful our wedding was. The planning process was so organized and it was great working with both CP (from the MoS) and Keith (with Wolfgang Puck Catering, the MoS's in house caterer). They helped make the planning process easy from my stand point. \rThen the day of, Lisa was our coordinator on site and she (and the rest of the staff) did a wonderful job making our day flow perfectly. I really don't know of a single thing that went wrong that day - so if something did, they were able to make it so that I never even noticed. \rWe are still getting raves about the wedding, between the location being beautiful, the food being fabulous and it just being an overall fantastic night. They also loved our unique idea of not doing a cake but instead having an ice cream sundae bar! Hahn Kim(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2012 Overall, our experience was excellent. In terms of planning, the museum takes care of almost everything: they provide catering (you must use their caterer, Wolfgang Puck Catering), linens, tables, chairs, coordinators, etc. The only things you must provide are DJ, flowers, photography, videography, attire, and the cake.\r\rInitially, when we first emailed the museum, the event planner was very responsive but it took a little while to hear from the caterer. However, the first time we talked to the caterer on the phone, he was extremely helpful and afterwards everything went very smoothly.\r\rWe literally met with the event planner and caterer (together) twice: once to tour the museum, then again a few weeks before the wedding for the food tasting, go through the evening’s timeline, and select linens. All other interaction was done via email, e.g., working out the table setup. In addition to ordering the linens, tables, and chairs, they also called our other vendors, e.g., florist, baker, photographer, ahead of time to make sure they know where/when to show up.\r\rThe only part that was a little unclear was when and how we would be able to drop off stuff, like centerpieces, early. When we first met, they said we would be able to drop off non-perishable stuff (i.e., not the cake and flowers) the day before. The second time we met, when we asked them if we could drop off stuff the day before, they said that should be free around 3 PM. The week before, they asked if we could drop off at 5, because they had other appointments that day for another wedding. We had to be at our rehearsal dinner at 5 but, fortunately, our friends took care of it. Also, we hoped to drop off the centerpieces earlier in the day of the wedding but we discovered that we had to wait until 5 PM because we would have to wait until the museum was closed. Everything worked out just fine in the end but the details on when drop offs could be made weren’t very clear until fairly late.\r\rA quick description of our wedding: we had the ceremony in the Theatre of Electricity followed by an electricity demo on the 3-story tall Van de Graaff generators, then cocktail hour and reception in the Blue Wing (the main exhibit hall).\r\rIn terms of the day of, everything went completely smoothly. The museum provided three coordinators who made sure everything happened at the right time. The amazing thing was that not only were they coordinating another wedding in another part of the museum but this was the first time we had met any of them. All the information about the evening's timeline had been passed to them from the event planner.\r\rOur timeline for dinner was, admittedly, aggressive so when things started slipping behind schedule, they would just ask us for direction (do you want to do such-and-such now or wait until later?) then would run off to coordinate with the catering staff and DJ to make it happen.\r\rA very pleasant surprise was that we had a personal server for the evening. At the cocktail hour, she introduced herself to us as our \"shadow\" and proceeded to bring us drinks and food during the rest of the cocktail hour and dinner. We've been to weddings where the couple barely gets to eat; we ate just fine that night!\r\rOverall, though, we were extremely pleased with the level of service. It's not cheap but it's an outstanding value given the venue and the level and quality of the service. Reviewed on 02-03-2013

Kim Nguyen(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2012 The Museum of Science is a beautiful place to get married. We were married in their conference room the Skyline Room which had floor to ceiling views of the Boston Skyline, and we had the reception in the Blue Wing which has an infinite amount of photo opportunities. The service from the venue coordinators on the day of the event was crucial, and they were a joy to work with. They made sure everything was on time and flowing as smoothly as possible. I can't speak much to the catering because as a bride pumped with adrenaline, I didn't eat much at the wedding, but my guests told me it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The space and catering is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but it was worth every dollar. I would recommend being attentive to details which will help with the contract and being persistent with communication because responsiveness can be a little slow at times. The part of the museum we chose, the Skyline room, was gorgeous and we had compliments from almost every single guest just on the venue choice alone! The food is expensive, but worth it. Thankfully our wedding was small (about 60 people) so we actually had time to eat any of it! The organizers were extremely helpful and it was wonderful realizing that we did not have to stress every detail ourselves. Westley Ritz(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2012 We held our reception at the d'Arbeloff Suite at the MoS. The room itself is on the smaller size, good for about 100 or less guests, which was perfect for us as we were shooting for 80. Not too big where people will feel far from everyone, but not cramped either. The perfect size for what we wanted. The room has floor to ceiling windows on either side that overlook the Charles River. On the one side that faces the city of Boston, there's a small outside patio for the guests to go out and relax on! Really an incredible atmosphere! \r\rOur coordinator CP was incredibly helpful and patient with us throughout the whole process from deciding to go with the MoS to finalizing the final details to make the reception run smoothly. We wanted to see the space several times, have a walk through with our photographer, and all of this was no issue at all! And she was very well organized that if we forgot about something or needed some extra information, she'd simply get a hold of us and asked. She made sure she had all the information which was great because we certainly weren't on top of it all like we should have been! But she was.\r\rWhen you work with the MoS, you automatically work with Wolfgang Puck Catering for your meal. They are incredibly professional and of course the food is great. Our rep at WPC, Keith, was incredibly helpful in helping plan our meal. We wanted something that wasn't too expensive but at the same time still a really nice meal, and Keith was able to help work with us to create a an exquisite menu at a reasonable price. He also had great suggestions for us on pairing main courses and side dishes, so that too was helpful.\r\rOur day of coordinator was fantastic. She literally took care of everything. You never heard the word \"no\" out of her mouth. She made sure that we were completely taken care of. Prior to the reception, we walked around the museum taking cool pictures with the exhibits like the 40 foot T-Rex and also went out by the river for some nice shots as well. When we got to the reception room, the room looked great! The color schemes were exactly what we asked for, the layout was great. I remember just taking a few seconds looking around admiring how great the room looked. Then during the reception, both the MoS and WPC staff were amazing. We felt like royalty the way they made plates of hors d'ouvres for us to be sure we ate something while mingling with friends and family, they kept our glasses filled, and generally attended to our every need the entire night. The staff for our reception was truly awesome. \r\rSo there's no doubt I'd recommend the MoS and WPC. From our first meeting with them, we knew it was the right spot. Besides being a very cool location, both in terms of the views and inside the museum, the teams from the MoS and WPC were great to work with. A special thanks to CP and Keith for making everything go so smoothly. \r\rBesides amazing food and venue, the main requirement I had was to not have to think of anything on the day. They did this, and for that, I am very grateful! The MoS and WPC staff made sure everything was taken care of on the day and moved along on the schedule we put together. They did it with grace and a high level of professionalism.\r\rThe ceremony and cocktail hour were in the Skyline Room, which offers excellent views of the Charles River and the Back Bay skyline. It worked perfectly, and included a small room to the side which was great to use for the bride to get ready in. The MoS staff made sure the room looked great, and our guests are still talking about the hors d'oeuvre.\r\rThe reception was in the Blue Wing, which speaks for itself as soon as you see it. Our guests are still going on about how cool of a venue it was. There are few places where you can have a party with a T-Rex in the room, a space module over head, all while still having a very classy and formal feel to it. The food and serving staff were what I would expect at a 4 star restaurant. I don't say that lightly - they were that good.\r\rAll in all, highly recommended. We knew we wanted an unusual venue, and I had been a bit hesitant to look at the MOS because, as an avid fan of the Museum (and former member), and I know that some of the spaces could use some refreshing. But when I saw the Washburn Pavilion and tent on the Charles, I was sold! Me and my husband were planning on a late August wedding, and the covered, yet still outdoor space on the river was ideal. We had both our ceremony and reception on-site.\r\rWorking with Cheryl (\"CP\") and Keith only confirmed the good feeling I had about the space. They were full of good ideas, but open to suggestions. They were organized while I was forgetful. They were attentive without stressing me out, and they also did a great job of working with me and my mom at the same time to coordinate all our vendors. We had a blast at the tasting!\r\rOne side note that were fine with me, but might concern other brides, is that the coordinator for the actual event is often different from the person you work with. Lisa was great for our rehearsal and on the day of the wedding, and CP came for a visit. Everything went smoothly, so I was happy with how that turned out. But I know it worries some people. Also, the bathrooms are just the general museum bathrooms. If this bothers you, you can rent bathrooms. \r\rThe guests are still raving about how great everything was (setting, food, flow of the evening, etc), and we have great memories (and pictures...including a few in front of the T-Rex).
