10.15.22 graduated bride here!! I have so so many great things to say about the myth, number one being the food was AMAZING. People are still talking about how it was the best food theyâve had at a wedding, and I have to agree! The atmosphere was so perfect for a rustic, but romantic wedding. The GM was such an angel and helped in every possible way, made sure everyone made the right steps, and when to make them. The serving staff were also very attentive, and quick about clearing peoples plates, making sure waters were refilled! The bartenders were also lovely and very kind. All around I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful hall to celebrate your wedding, not to mention the outdoor scenery made for some absolutely gorgeous photos for a fall wedding!

I recently had my youngest daughterâs Bridal Shower and Wedding at the Myth Golf & Banquetfacility in Oakland Twp. We paid for, and attended, a food tasting (food tasting is offered afterplacing your deposit, not before) so we would know what to expect and choose the menuaccordingly. After the tasting I did sit down with the manager and discussed my hesitation andconcern with some of the food options. She assured me they had a new Chef and I would beextremely happy with the final menu. We had approximately 50 people for the bridal showerand it went well. However, when it came to the wedding it was totally a different outcome. We met with the Manager and the new chef prior to our final selections and both assured me, Iwould be very happy with the menu we picked. The bride was very clear she didnât carewhether we had a red sauce or a white sauce for the pasta, she just wanted to make sure shehad her parmesan redskin potatoes. We all smiled and the manager said âyouâll have yourparmesan red skin potatoesâ. As I arrived for the wedding I asked if everything was good andaccording to plan. The manager said âno issues, good to go.â However, things were not as weordered right off the bat. We ordered the fruit tower/display (with strawberries) and when itwas brought out it was missing the strawberries. So, I asked one of the staff members to findout why they werenât on the display. She never came back. My daughter was very specific andone of the big reasons she picked this venue was that she wanted their parmesan red skinpotatoes. Upon getting my dinner I was shocked and mortified when the parmesan red skinpotatoes were replaced, without our consent, with what looked to be small, square,undercooked (hard) breakfast potatoes (they were horrible-no better way to describe them). Iimmediately found the manager and asked where the potatoes were that we ordered and herresponse was âwe cut them upâ. Just after sitting down, my daughter (Bride), asked whypeople who required dietary restriction plates i.e., dairy free, gluten free, nut free, vegetarianetc. were in line to get their food, which was supposed to be plated and brought out directly tothem. Unfortunately, this is what the bride is worrying herself with instead of eating her dinnerand enjoying her event. I left my dinner to find the manager and questioned why the plates forthe special dietary needs of the guests were not brought out. They hesitated and then said they would get them all out. A few never received their plates, while a few others received plates that did not adhere to their dietary restrictions. Our wedding was under contract from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Cleanup was from 11pm until midnight. The staff started removing our decorations, centerpieces, gifts, and personalized items early and had it condensed to one area by 10:40 pm. Guests were still on the dance floor and when they came back to the tables, their gifts were picked up and moved. This was totally unprofessional and not per our agreement. The last shuttle of the evening was booked for midnight, so the bridal party and a few guests could help us break down and load our items. Because the staff broke down our wedding way early, these guests had to sit around for about 45 minutes waiting for the shuttle to pick them up to go back to the hotel. In my opinion, the venue is pretty and the staff was pleasant. However, the food was mediocre at best and I would not recommend this place. This is a once in a lifetime event, and for me, the stress and embarrassment was certainly not worth it.

We were married here 23JUL2022 and I cannot begin to explain how exceptional this venue is. If you're a couple who maybe is more modern than rustic, do not be deterred by the word \"barn\" in the name-it is FAR from it. The reception space was transformed into exactly the floral dream we had in mind and the exposed beams and floor to ceiling windows just added to the ambience. There was something extremely romantic about the room as the afternoon sun set into evening. Did I mention they are fairly priced, include a modest ceremony upgrade AND offer in house catering and bar service? Our guests raved about the food, the drinks were delicious and strong, and the gourmet donut wall add-on is still talked about to this day (people even took these to-go). Jaki is the event coordinator for this venue and I have never worked with a vendor so amenable to your vision. She offered solutions and work-arounds to our many (I mean many) inquiries/change requests. The biggest perk of this venue is the indoor-outdoor space where guests are welcome to hang out either inside with the dance party or outside to enjoy the fresh air or various yard games. I can't say enough good things about this place. Book it. You won't be disappointed.

This venue was great! Everything was so easy and Jaki was so great to work with. Our guests loved the food and appetizers as well as the late night pizza from Jet's. I appreciated that they had a golf cart available for my 86-year old grandmother so she did not have to walk far to get from ceremony area to pictures and back to reception area. The bridal suite was perfect for storing our purses and other things. It was the perfect setting for a great party!

This review is LONG over due, but Laura and the Myth were so great I wanted to make sure I came back to review. We got married on 9/6/20 and everything turned out absolutely PERFECT. Laura was there to help every step of the way. She was flexible and creative with all of the COVID changes we had to make. The food and drinks were great, staff were helpful, and the venue was beautiful! I will be recommending the Myth to allow of our engaged friends. Our guests still continue to rave about how nice everything was! Thank you Laura and the myth!

Laura was there to help every step of the way. She was flexible and creative with all of the COVID changes we had to make. The food and drinks were great, staff were helpful, and the venue was beautiful! I will be recommending the Myth to allow of our engaged friends. Laura and the team at Myth were amazing to work with for our 5/8/21 wedding. The planning process was so stressful and emotional due to covid (especially the week of the wedding as we kept receiving bad news after bad news) but this venue, Laura and the staff saved us. Not only were we able to avoid having to move our scheduled wedding date, but this venue also had outdoor accommodations which was perfect. Having the dancing on the outdoor, beautifully lit patio was even better than having it indoors because it was bigger! The warm lighting everywhere was just beautiful. Laura was always extremely receptive and quick to respond to all of my texts and emails. Iâm sure sheâs used to handling us emotional brides ;) To avoid crowds at the bar, staff was instead serving drinks all night to the guests and did a great job with that. Overall, Myth made our originally scheduled wedding possible even after making some adjustments due to covid and I canât thank them enough for that.

A gorgeous venue and an amazing price!!! Everything youâd want if your looking for a rustic all inclusive venue! :) i canât say enough about how thrilled i was about the venue! They made sure everything on the day of ran smooth for me. There was a mix up with some of the tables. Laura had them strip, put linens on, and reset all the tables without me even seeing the issue. I am so grateful for their hospitality and customer service! These team is one of a kind :)

The night was the most magical night EVER! The venue is absolutely stunning and we got so many compliments with how gorgeous it was! At night it is even more breath taking! Everyone was very accommodating and all our guest were super pleased đ the food was great and the drinks were cold. I could t have imagined a more perfect place for our perfect day! Laura was very helpful through out the entire process and always there for any questions, even random text at 9 at night! I canât say enough with how perfect the night was, our videographer and photographer absolutely loved the venue they had so many awesome spots to take photos again it was amazing !I canât thank them enough

We are so happy we went with the Myth for our wedding! My husband and I went to a bunch of different places searching for a venue but could not find what we were looking for. When we walked into the Myth we instantly knew it was exactly what we were looking for! We got so many compliments about how beautiful our wedding was and how amazing the food was! Seriously, the entrees and appetizers were unbelievable. Laura was so nice to work with and answered immediately with any questions we had! This made our planning process so much smoother and we were able to enjoy the day stress free. I could not recommend the Myth anymore and am so happy we chose to go there for our special day, wouldnât have wanted to go anywhere else!

I got married at Myth in October 2018 and it couldnât have gone any better. The venue was absolutely beautiful, very reasonably priced, and the staff extremely helpful. Not to mention, our guests raved about the food all night. Thanks for making our special day a dream come true!

They make their own rules!Rented this venue for a wedding that is 6 hours but the lights go on and the music must stop at 11:30 pm so they can clean up. Vargo's other banquet facility, Golden Hawk, gives you the venue for the entire 6 hours and lights go on at 12. Laura neglects to tell you everything like the cake is served on plastic plates with plastic forks and only for an additional $5 per person will she bring it to the tables. They brought the cut cake out before the bride and groom had even cut the cake. The bride asked her the night of the wedding if someone will carry the plates for herself and the groom and she responded that she wasn't going to do it, which is quite rude. She continually states that she has done a lot of weddings and no one has complained. I believe that is a lie! Her attitude is less than anyone would expect when paying for a service. Her staff is very young and at any given time there was only one person tending bar for 150 guests. Beware that she has exclusive vendors you must use.

We can't say enough about the myth! We got married this past July and Laura was amazing and so easy to work with! She made sure everything was set and would go smooth! The Myth was amazing, starting with Laura! She was always there via e-mail or text/call to answer any questions that came up along the way. Even though we booked a year in advance, she never made me feel less important than other Events she had coming up. The food at the wedding was amazing and we received so many compliments about the venue and waitstaff. Thank you for making our day so special for us and our guests.

This post is long overdue (married 10.21.17); however, want to share what a fantastic experience my husband and I had with Laura at Myth, and planning our wedding day. I was never a girl who dreamed of a wedding - honestly, I thought I would elope. But, one look at Myth, and the notion of eloping was out the window. The reception area is beautiful with the exposed wood beams, and the outdoor area is exceptional. Here's the thing, as someone who never dreamed of a wedding, Laura was able to show me the way! She was always so calm and offered great advice. Laura readily pointed out where we could save money instead of pushing for more, which we really appreciated. Six months later - people still mention something to me about the food! I can't remember eating but my guests gushed about it. Two negative feedback - but would not change from a five start rating - the dance floor is a little small and there is not a large enough bathroom for a Bride, her dress and the Bridesmaids!

We very much enjoyed our experience with Myth. The venue is beautiful, relaxed, and unique. We had rave reviews from our guests about the food, and how excellent it was. The servers and bartenders were helpful and attentive. We did not see much of the manager, Laura. Unfortunately, she is our only complaint and why we decided not to go with 5 stars. We had amazing DJ's who kept us on track with the timeline, without them I'm not sure how the night would have gone! We saw her at the beginning of the event when lining up for the ceremony, and seemed to be MIA until she began to break down tables DURING our reception. I come from a back round working in a venue, we always waited until the very end of the event to break down tables, or bring out additional ones. We had the venue booked until 12am, and servers were being directed to take things down and add more tables for the following night's event around 10:30pm. Granted it was towards the end of the night, and we had a smaller sized wedding, I still found it rude to begin these tasks while our guests were still enjoying the night with us. I was very much more of a laid back bride, so I didn't totally notice her absence until watching her prep for another wedding during my own. If you need more service, attention, or direction make it known with her when booking to hope she'll be more involved in your event and the smooth running of a timeline.

Amazing day despite heavy rain! Laura is great and is a pro in her field. Only thing I would say is max is 220 which is do-able BUT we had 168 and I wouldn't have had it any bigger. Space was perfect for that many guests!!

We are so happy we had our wedding at the Myth! The room was so beautiful and we received so many compliments! The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly! We had the best day ever, wouldn't have changed a thing! : )

Laura the coordinator is amazing. She was easy to work with and made sure everything flowed nicely in order for me to have my dream wedding. She's super kind and understanding. Had my Bridal shower and reception here. The food at both events was delicious! The venue is very beautiful on its own. From the \"barn look\" and the huge open windows looking out into the golf course and the cute Christmas lights wrapped around the beams. It has a very romantic feeling which is what I was going for. The dance floor seems small but it was really perfect and gave a feeling of it being \"packed\" when few people were dancing so it never looked empty. It has a nice outdoor patio also for people to enjoy. I got lots of compliments on the beautiful venue. Thank you so much Myth Staff for a memorable night!

We couldn't have made a better choice for our wedding. Laura and Myth were unbelievably great. It was just the right kind of atmosphere we wanted: simple, elegant, rustic with class. Myth's wedding coordinator, Laura made our whole planning painless. She is VERY on top of contacting with you and quick reply back to your every question or concern. We had our reception and ceremony at Myth and our day was perfect. All of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding, and people that didn't attend was shocked it was at a golf course. Thank you again for making our day perfect! P.S. the food was amazing!

The Myth, for me, was perfection. Laura was incredibly helpful and during my rehearsal, really set the pace for what I was to expect on my big day. And leading up to that day, she was willing to answer any question I had (no matter how ridiculous). The cost was more than fair, and we had a lot of \"included\" amenities (including things I wouldn't have thought of) that just made the day that much better.And seeing it all come together? Beautiful. It was absolutely perfect in that room. All of my hard work with the planning was executed to a T. I couldn't have asked for more.

Amazing!!! I can't say enough praises about the Myth!! My husband and I are SO glad that we had our wedding reception here! Our entire event was perfect thanks to Laura and all of the staff. The venue was absolutely beautiful (unique, intimate, and elegant), the food was great, the staff was friendly/attentive, and Laura was so helpful/easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. I feel like she went above and beyond to make sure that all of our wedding needs were met. I couldn't be happier about the entire experience. :-)!

The Myth was a beautiful place to get married. Overall, we were very happy with our wedding. They do require that you use their caterers, so make sure you are clear about our food choices. We confirmed our choices two weeks before the wedding and on the day of we had some of what we wanted and some things mixed up. The food was still great so it wasn't a huge deal, but we wish the service had been better in that aspect.

We chose the buffet option which was $46 per person and that was with the open bar. Very reasonable price! The food was amazing, and I had numerous compliments! The venue was beautiful and before the wedding the coordinator was helpful. But during the time for pictures, the coordinator and my photographer did not seem to get along. The coordinator was rushing the pictures and ending up driving away in the golf cart without my photographer so my photographer had to ride on the back of a golf cart with my matron of honor and a bridesmaid. Other rude things happened between the photographer and coordinator. The coordinator should have been more professional and asked me what I wanted to do about the pictures. Also, since the second spout between my photographer and coordinator, I didn't see the coordinator the rest of the night. My DJ took some of the head table's drink orders instead of the staff/coordinator.

I can't say enough about the Myth and their staff. We had our wedding 2 weeks ago and even with the drastic change in weather, Laura and her staff pulled off the outdoor ceremony perfectly. No thanks to my wedding planner, the venue still looked amazing and all the staff at the Myth did a wonderful job getting the location ready. I had set up a lot of our decor the day before (Laura gives you all the flexibility to set up you could dream of) and with some finishing touches the day of the reception it looked fantastic. It's the PERFET location for a bride who's looking for that rustic/vintage theme but doesn't want to force family to drive all the way up north or to one of those scarcely located Barns around the state. (You also have heat / air conditioning!! LOL The prices we GREAT and the food was raved about! We had an excellent buffet set up and people couldn't stop talking about how great it was. The few fears we did have were the dance floor being small but come wedding day it was actually the perfect size and we had over 200 people! Their preferred vendors that we happened to use were great and the venue itself is just fantastic. The closest to the pin contest didn't go over as well with the weather but if it had been nicer it would have been a highlight as well. We even had a guest get a hole in one!! IT was GREAT! If we could go back we would book them all over again. SO happy! THANK YOU LAURA AND THE MYTH! :)

According to guests, the venue was rustic, yet romantic. The grounds are beautiful and there were plenty of areas for photo opportunities. The lighting is beautiful and there is plenty of room to move around for a party of 150. The food was the best. One perk was that a hotel nearby could shuttle guests at the beginning and end of the night to and from the venue. The only negative was that there was a bit of a rushed feeling from the reception coordinator at the beginning of the night.

If you are looking for an \"outdoorsy\" location, Myth is for you! It's off the beaten path and is beautiful. The Lodge is great for a reception and needs little decorating, which can save you $$. The Event Coordinator there is a little rough around the edges but in the end everything ran smooth. Great food too!
