Lysandra Lopez-Medina(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 The staff at the Civil War Museum were very professional and responsive, especially Kate McDermott. She was available to answer all my questions - and there were many! The site was a great value for the money and you can pick your own caterer from a list. The scenery was beautiful for our late fall wedding! Our guests were able to walk the galleries during cocktail hour and the ballroom comfortably accommodated our guests. Could not have picked a better venue. Reviewed on 08-11-2014
Sarah Hibshman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-09-2014 Honestly, I am shocked that more people don't have their wedding at the National Civil War Museum. This is an absolutely AMAZING location with attentive and helpful staff. Do not rule out this location because it is a Civil War museum. Initially I was a little skeptical because I thought it would look too much like a museum or with a ton of civil war memorabilia everywhere. The ballroom is gorgeous with high ceilings and neutral colors. The two outside locations where you can have the ceremony have incredible views of the city. I would pick this location 100 times over again. It was perfect and all of our 200 guests loved the location, amenities, and look of the museum. You can have the museum exhibits open during the cocktail hour if you would like to, which was fun for guests. There are a lot of places around the grounds to take pictures with a variety of backgrounds. It was so convenient to take pictures, have the ceremony, and the reception all in one place. We had our ceremony outside, but had a backup plan to have it in the rotunda if the weather wasn't nice. Kate was so easy to work with and helped to work out a lot of details for us. You should absolutely have your wedding here. You will be so happy! \r\rJeremy and Sarah Reviewed on 27-10-2014
Nicole Dellinger(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2012 First I have to say we had a beautiful wedding. However we had a lot of unnecessary stress. They have assured me that they have taken steps to ensure that other brides don't have the same stresses.\r\rMy husband and I were very disappointed with how some things were handled. We paid an extra $1000 dollars to have our own alcohol and when the day of the wedding came we had our kegs delivered and were told they are not allowed however that was not discussed (although they claimed it was) and it WAS NOT in the contract. My father in law had to run out right before the wedding for cases of bottled beer.\r\rWe were told the galleries would be open for the guests during cocktail hour however they lights were off and they were not available. \r\rAnd Last but not least, we were contracted until 12 am and were promptly kicked out at 11pm. I had the DJ until 11:30pm so I paid for time we didn't even get to enjoy!\r\rThere were other small things that happened as well. Overall our day was beautiful but stressful. Reviewed on 13-10-2012
Cassandra Allen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-06-2012 The museum itself is gorgeous, and the landscape overlooking the city makes this venue picturesque. Everyone from the coordinator to the head of security was easy to work with and available when needed. We brought our own alcohol instead of buying through the museum, but this was not a problem (though it does increase the rental price slightly). Could not have asked for a better venue! Bryttani Lynch(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-12-2010 The civil war museum is a great place for a wedding.\rThe pros: Large space, Grand rotunda area is BEAUTIFUL ( makes for some GREAT pictures or cocktail hour-we used it as our cocktail hour but it has also been used for wedding ceremonies.\rThe cons: A little pricey. Can't bring your own alcohol ( well you can only you have to pay them an extra $1,000 since they aren't making any money from the bar), You can't do much of any decorations( nothing on the walls, nothing hanging. \rOverall I was very pleased with the outcome, they aren't flexible with any decorations or catering ( They have a list of about 6 or 7 place that you have to choose from--Most are pretty expensive) We had a winter wedding so they had the rotunda already decorated beautifully with a large xmas tree and lights and garland coming down the staircase( BIG + ) Reviewed on 28-12-2010
