Nella Terra Cellars is a winery wedding venue in Sunol, CA. Nestled along the East Bay of San Francisco, this picturesque location can accommodate an array of event sizes, from intimate elopements to extravagant receptions. With its expansive vineyards, relaxing patio, and dedicated team of event specialists, the grounds can easily transform into the wedding of your dreams. Family owned and operated, Nella Terra Cellars first opened its doors to soon-to-be-weds in 2014. Events with up to 300 guests can use the versatile location to make their nuptial vision come true. Since planting their first vineyard in 2013, they now grow multiple varietals, including Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Chardonnay. Couples can use this picturesque vineyard and its grand staircase for photo sessions and ceremony entrances. The staircase leads to a natural stone-paved altar, where you can exchange your vows beside the sparkling pond and fountains. Afterwards, you and your guests can move to the patio for cocktail hour under the wooden pergola. The outdoor firepit and lounge furniture also make for an intimate place to spend time with your entourage under the stars. Receptions will then take place under the elegant event tent, with string lights and chandeliers adding a romantic ambience. Get-ready suites are available, and offer a cozy place for couples to prepare in style, lounge furniture, and plenty of natural light. Parking is present onsite, with wheelchair accessibility to ensure that everyone can enjoy your big day. The winery’s team of event specialists will work with you during your planning process, and make sure everything goes smoothly. Their catering partners will customize your menu to feature mouthwatering dishes made with the freshest ingredients. During your special day, the team will provide you with their wine selections along with their full bar services. In addition, Nella Terra Cellars will happily connect you with their list of most trusted vendors to help you complete your nuptial vision.

I had my wedding here in earlier this month and I am so happy we were able to secure the venue. I have always dreamed to having a wedding at a winery and Nella Terra made all of my dreams come true and more.It is definitely a hidden gem - the drive into the winery makes you feel like driving through a fairytale and the venue itself makes you a Disney princess! There were so many great photo spots by the vines, the staircase, the pond, and so much more. All of my guests asked me how I was able to find this venue. It was a very pleasant surprise for them to see there is such a lovely winery nearby (no need to go all the way to Napa).To top it all off, the team at Nella Terra is just awesome. Whitney was so patient with me with my million questions and was super helpful in making decisions from the different customizable options that the venue provides. Thank you for making me the happiest bride on my wedding day. (OH and the wines are so yummy too - my most wine savvy friends all enjoyed them!!).

We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Nella Terra for our daughters wedding on 7/16/23! Not only is the venue the PERFECT place and absolutely beautiful, but Whitney and all of the vendors recommended by Nella Terra were top notch! The bridal cottage was the perfect space to relax prior, the wedding coordinator did an amazing job making sure all ran smoothly, the DJ Amos Pro made the night one to remember, the food was fantastic! We can't wait to see the pictures with the many beautiful backdrops that surround the property. A true dream location and event space! HIGHLY recommend!

If you are looking for a winery to have the perfect wedding, this is the place. The first time we walked onto this venue we knew this is where we wanted to tie the knot. The team that runs Nella Terra communicates well and just fantastic to work with. They have a list of preferred vendors that they have already worked with and honestly that saves so much time trying to find reliable companies to work with. The wedding venue is stunning and holds 150+ people. Or wedding day was even better than we imagined! When we first stepped onto the property we were just in awe with how beautiful it was. Kendall gave us a tour and we had plenty of questions that she was more than happy to answer. Our main question was the best month to get married which she told us June. So we chose June 17th, 2023. During June the grapevines are full of color that coexists with the beautiful golden hills that surrounds the property. This gives you the best of both worlds for amazing photo opportunities. The ceremony area is magical with tons of seats to fit a large party. It has a pergola that can be filled with flowers and has a beautiful pond and garden in the background. The Grooms getting ready area has a fun bocci court and shed that was filled with glasses and champagne while the Brides get a beautiful cottage that was freshly remodeled with beautiful décor. The brides cottage has a kitchen, huge bathroom and getting ready room. They have a huge tent for the reception which was a perfect choice during covid. The tent can be decorated with drapery which makes the whole place come together and would highly recommend. The venue provides a shuttle that goes around the property from and to the parking lot to the ceremony/reception area which was a huge benefit for our grandparents and guests with less mobility.I cannot express enough how perfect our wedding was and we look forward to going back and enjoying Nella Terra's award winning wines. Everything about our wedding at Nella Terra was perfect! The team is very easy to work with and the day went off without a hitch. Our wedding at Nella Terra Cellars was absolutely magical! The venue is stunning from the grand staircase, rolling hills, and beautiful garden with lots of areas for amazing photos. The communication was always easy with Kendall and Whitney and they worked with the vendors seamlessly to make the day perfect. Let me start by saying the pictures don’t do this place justice. This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL venue. We got so many compliments from our guests! The team that runs Nella Terra is absolutely wonderful. They provide all the info/resources you need to plan your big day. Whitney answered any and all questions we had leading up to our event. They partner with some awesome vendors and take the headache out of searching for them. Our wedding turned out so amazing and there was not one hiccup. I would absolutely recommend having your wedding at Nella Terra!

My husband and I had our wedding at Nella Terra this month and it was everything we dreamed of! I had a great time working with the team at Nella Terra (shoutout to Bella who answered my never ending list of questions!). One thing to note is they do require you to work with their selected wedding planner/coordinator Simply Lovely Events. This was not an issue for us as we had a great time working with the Simply Lovely team as well. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous - we heard so many compliments from our guests. From the grand staircase to the beautiful tent setup, you will not be disappointed with this venue!

Wow, how do I start? My husband and I initially got engaged during the pandemic and had a long engagement. Not only were we planning a wedding during the pandemic, but we were also doing so out of state! Whitney and the rest of the Nella Terra team were so kind and generous and helped us figure out the whole process- from planning to execution on the day of! We could not have had our perfect day without the NT team.The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's this beautiful winery filled with grape vines and a lush pond tucked in between rolling hills. During our wedding, all of guests kept on telling us how beautiful the venue is. And wait until you see Nella Terra and the reception tent at golden hour. We could not have made a better choice than choosing Nella Terra for our wedding venue.

Our wedding was moved three separate times (twice for COVID, once for pregnancy) and through it all, Nella Terra was a dream come true. Whitney and her team went above and beyond these past two years with all the date changes, and when the big day finally came, it was perfect. We were really impressed with how smoothly everything ran, including the rehearsal/walk through and all the communication leading up to the big day. The venue has some of the best photography scenery I have seen, with lots of different spots for photos for the bride and groom and also for their guests. All our guests have been raving about how beautiful everything was, including the tent. The bridal cottage is great for getting ready and is the perfect place to gather the bridal party together before the ceremony for photos and champagne. I can't recommend Nella Terra enough as a wedding venue, having our wedding there was worth the wait and it truly was the best day.

My husband and I had our wedding here in late July 2022 and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. The site is beautiful, particularly in July and August when everything is lush. Food was extremely important to us, and while the caterer's food at our tasting was wonderful, it's only natural to be skeptical that it will be just as good on the wedding day, and yet it absolutely was (get the tri-tip carving station!). All of our guests had a great time and were blown away by the natural beauty of the venue, which was also a tremendous asset for our photographer - our sunset photos in front of the rolling golden hills look incredible. My husband and I had our wedding here in late July 2022 and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. The site is beautiful, particularly in July and August when everything is lush. Food was extremely important to us, and while the caterer's food at our tasting was wonderful, it's only natural to be skeptical that it will be just as good on the wedding day, and yet it absolutely was (get the tri-tip carving station!). All of our guests had a great time and were blown away by the natural beauty of the venue, which was also a tremendous asset for our photographer - our sunset photos in front of the rolling golden hills look incredible. We toured countless number of wedding venues all over the Bay Area and we were slowly losing hope of finding our perfect venue. Then we found Nella Terra and was instantly in love with the venue! As gorgeous as the venue is, the people at Nella Terra were amazing to work with and made us feel like they really cared to make our wedding as memorable as possible. Shoutout to Bella and Whitney for all of your amazing help throughout the process. Moreover, their preferred vendors were absolutely amazing. We were actually somewhat hesitant to use their preferred vendors since we had other vendors in mind but we can't have made a better choice (Huge thanks to our wedding coordinators Lindsay, Olivia and Tannya!). As daunting a task it is to plan a wedding for 200+ guests, everyone we worked with made our planning so much easier. The best decision you could make for your wedding is hosting it at Nella Terra Cellars. This was the first venue we visited and anything after simply didn't compare. We originally had our wedding scheduled for 2020 and like many other couples, we chose to reschedule to 2021. During this process, Whitney was in constant communication with us about our options and any restrictions. By the time it came to start picking back up the planning process, we felt incredibly supported by Whitney and Bella with any questions we had (which was a lot) and ideas. During and after our wedding, we didn't stop receiving compliments on every aspect of the venue, food (required to work with On the Vine Catering), drinks, and the flow of the day (required to work with Simply Lovely Events for day-of)! The best decision you could make for your wedding is hosting it at Nella Terra Cellars. This was the first venue we visited and anything after simply didn't compare. We originally had our wedding scheduled for 2020 and like many other couples, we chose to reschedule to 2021. During this process, Whitney was in constant communication with us about our options and any restrictions. By the time it came to start picking back up the planning process, we felt incredibly supported by Whitney and Bella with any questions we had (which was a lot) and ideas. During and after our wedding, we didn't stop receiving compliments on every aspect of the venue, food (required to work with On the Vine Catering), drinks, and the flow of the day (required to work with Simply Lovely Events for day-of)! A special shoutout to their delicious wine as well. Nella Terra is truly the perfect venue. It has such natural beauty and has everything you can want. We got extremely lucky that we just missed the rain for our ceremony but the team at Nella Terra was ready for anything. The bar staff was extremely professional and kept our 200 guests happy and moving all night. Chely was super helpful in coordinating our whole night with our event team and I would highly recommend Nella Terra!

They were very responsive to our many questions and kept us informed about changes in guidelines due to covid which was the biggest barrier in wedding planning. Our wedding day came and went, but they made sure the day ran smoothly (which it did!). It's been a little over a month since we got married, and we are still hearing compliments of the venue! Their catering company, On The Vine is incredible. Our guests were telling us it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. We chose to have salmon and skirt steak served. The staff is great to work with and make it so easy to plan a wedding here. We loved how private and hidden this venue is. The bridal cottage is so cute, the only downside was only being able to show up there at 3pm the earliest. It would have been nice to enjoy it more and get hair and makeup done at the cottage. I also felt bad for the groom/groomsmen! It was a hot day and the grooms area is small and only has a fan. They pretty much had to be outside for multiple hours before the ceremony started. Overall, 5 star venue and we were so happy with Nella Terra and the staff! Definitely worth every penny.

Nella Terra was one of three venues for our multicultural wedding celebration, and we can’t say enough great things about it! The venue is just stunning, and looked just as amazing in photos as it did in person — we’re big nature people and love wine, so the vineyard was a perfect backdrop for our special day. There are SO many great spots for photos, whether it’s for your first look, family photos, bridal party photos, etc. One of the silver linings of the pandemic was that because we postponed, we got to spend a lot of time at Nella Terra before our wedding day — we can confirm that it’s beautiful all-year round! We also got to know the Nella Terra team and event staff quite well, they were an absolute blast to work with. Very friendly and organized, and helped make our wedding run smoothly! We were also fortunate to work with many of the vendors on their preferred vendor list, and all of them were amazing. We’ll add too that the guest experience is equally wonderful, we received a ton of compliments from our family and friends in attendance. From the grand staircase, to the cocktail area, the reception tent, the venue is truly romantic and unique. We had the pleasure of working with Whitney and Kendall to make our wedding day vision come to life. The venue has a few required vendors that you need to work with, but they did NOT disappoint! We received so many compliments from our special day and wish we could do it all over again. The contract and booking process was seamless and straight forward even with all of the uncertainty with COVID. They constantly kept us up to date with the covid protocols whenever the county updated them and we felt very safe and comfortable having our wedding here. It was truly an unforgettable day. I am so glad that we ended up at NTC!

What a venue!!!! We actually weren't able to visit the venue since we lived in Hong Kong but it completely surpassed our expectations. Absolutely beautiful and perfect location. Quiet and secluded with all of the amenities and luxuries that a bride, groom and their guests could need. We were concerned about the wind but honestly it wasn't a problem on our night. Whitney, Bella, Kendall and the whole team are true professionals and great at their jobs. We'd recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for the perfect venue for their special day.

I would give a 2.5 star rating if it was possible. The first thing to be said about this venue is that it is undeniably beautiful. We fell in love with it the second we stepped foot onto it and both the ceremony and reception area are gorgeous and is definitely worth a 5 star rating. My reason for giving it a 2.5 is due to the venue management. It felt as though they tried to manipulate ways to squeeze every dollar out of you (which I guess is the wedding industry in general). The first sign that something felt off was when they informed us of free wine club membership for a year if you were getting married, which we of course agreed to. We later found out after the first shipment that you have to pay for 1 year before receiving the free year. Just a little deceptive. The worst of it all was when we had to reschedule the wedding due to COVID. Our initial date was 8/1/20, at which point large gatherings were not allowed at all so we did not have the option to have the wedding whatsoever. We had already paid a premium price for a Saturday spot, and were told we would need to pay an extra $9000 to rebook to another Saturday spot. Their reasoning for the extra $9000 was so they could keep afloat. The wedding contract had an Act Of God clause, which stated they would reschedule for free should an Act Of God (like COVID) occur. Their interpretation of that clause was to reschedule to a weekday, without a refund for what we had already paid to have a Saturday wedding. I understand many businesses struggled during COVID, but $9000 seemed extremely steep, especially considering they are now hosting weddings during the week and instead of 3 weddings a weekend they have 4-7 per week/weekend. Due to the unreasonable rescheduling fee, we had asked to pull out of the entire wedding and find a different venue, but they refused to refund us the $20K we had already put down and we were therefore forced to pay the $9000 ,as having a Saturday wedding was extremely important to us. We were definitely backed into a corner. We also had to reach out to them to reschedule rather than them reach out to us, and got extremely lucky we reached out when we did, as we booked the last comparable date to our original wedding. We also had difficulties with communication with them a month out from our wedding. We sent emails with a few questions we had regarding the day of and were not able to get a response until we had a meeting with our wedding coordinator (who is required by the venue, but honestly did an amazing job and was absolutely worth it!) and the venue. Nella Terra is such a gorgeous venue and my husband and I are so grateful to have gotten the chance to celebrate our wedding there. Not to mention they make delicious cocktails and have amazing wine! We reserved our day almost 2 years in advance and are so glad that we did. With all the changes during Covid, Nella Terra was really accommodating, which we appreciated it. Like many 2020 brides, we had to postpone our June 2020 wedding a full calendar year. While postponing was emotionally stressful, Whitney and team made the process very smooth. They answered all of my emails and calls quickly and calmed all of my anxiety. The venue itself is stunning!! All of my guests kept commenting on how beautiful it was. Every corner of it is picturesque and awed our guests from the bay area and out of town alike. We wanted a winery that wasn't too far from major airports and also felt private, which seemed tricky to attain as many wineries are open to the public even the day of weddings. Since Nella Terra is a private winery and tucked away in the hillside, but close enough to major cities and airports, it checked all our boxes and more! Not to mention the staircase entrance for the processional--I had guests say they gasped when they saw me because it was so striking! The vendors they require you to work with are wonderful as well--it's a large property so very helpful to have vendors who know the grounds through and through. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Nella Terra. I keep saying that I want a friend to get married here so I can experience it as a guest! It's simply everything and more and the people who work there go above and beyond for the couples.

Our original June 2020 wedding date was postponed due to Covid, and we ended up with a Thursday June 2021 wedding on the hottest day. Still, it was the wedding of our dreams and all of our guests had the best time. It is a gorgeous venue with a pergola and water feature that provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. There is a newly upgraded patio area for cocktail hour, and we loved the beautiful huge white tent for the reception. So picturesque everywhere you turn. There is a breathtaking area for sunset photos! Kendall was our venue coordinator and stayed in touch with us, and was especially responsive the few days before the wedding. She was the one who gave us the tour before we booked the venue, and the first person to greet us the day of the wedding. She is wonderful and made sure everything ran smoothly. There’s an amazing air-conditioned bridal cottage, and a nice newly built hangout area for the groomsmen by the bocce courts. There is also an air conditioned and clean bathroom area for our guests. The staff was great. We had nice shuttle drivers to take our guests from the parking lot up above to the ceremony area, and back up at the end of the night. We even thank our bartenders for being so great with our guests. We were very happy with Nella Terra’s preferred vendors. Our event coordinators (Lindsay and Olivia from Simply Lovely) kept us on track prior to the wedding, and made sure our wedding day was as we had planned. Jill from On the Vine (our caterer) was one of the nicest people! We received so many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food. The IPA in the premium beverage package is highly ranked on Beer Advocate. Last but not least, Nella Terra Cellars wines are consistently really good across all varietals! Out advice for couples is to make sure you book enough time for the reception. Our ceremony began at 4 and the wedding ended at 9pm. Our guests were having such a great time dancing that we were willing to pay and tried but could not extend our ceremony time. Other than that, it was one of the best days over.

The staff was great. We had nice shuttle drivers to take our guests from the parking lot up above to the ceremony area, and back up at the end of the night. We even thank our bartenders for being so great with our guests. We were very happy with Nella Terra’s preferred vendors. Our event coordinators (Lindsay and Olivia from Simply Lovely) kept us on track prior to the wedding, and made sure our wedding day was as we had planned. Jill from On the Vine (our caterer) was one of the nicest people! We received so many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food. The IPA in the premium beverage package is highly ranked on Beer Advocate. Last but not least, Nella Terra Cellars wines are consistently really good across all varietals! Out advice for couples is to make sure you book enough time for the reception. Our ceremony began at 4 and the wedding ended at 9pm. Our guests were having such a great time dancing that we were willing to pay and tried but could not extend our ceremony time. Other than that, it was one of the best days over.

We found Nella Terra through here because we were looking for a nice winery in the bay area. A lot of nice wedding venues are not nearby, so it was great that Nella Terra was located so close to our home. I fell in love with their reception area and beautiful greenery. The tent is very spacious and looks amazing with all the lights and decor. We originally booked for an April wedding in 2020 but because of COVID, we had to postpone. It was a confusing and uncertain time, but Nella Terra was flexible and we postponed it to August 2020 and then again to April 2021. Throughout the planning process, we worked with Kendall and she always answered all our questions promptly and she always reached out to give us updates about COVID regulations and the venue. It was really easy to work with Kendall and their team is super professional! If you do plan to book Nella Terra, be advised that you will have to work with their preferred caterer and wedding coordinator (or pay an additional fee). The wedding day went so smoothly and all our guests had an amazing time despite COVID regulations (wearing masks, tent doors being open, social distancing, etc). Highly recommend having a summer wedding to really see Nella Terra in all its glory (and not be so cold as it was super windy for us!). Nella Terra is one of the reasons why our wedding was so perfect. The venue itself is the most beautiful little oasis with so many different gorgeous areas for photos. Take your pick from the golden hills, lush green vines, ponds, etc. The landscaping of the venue is great. Our photos turned out amazing, especially sunset photos taken on the hills. There is a beautiful long staircase that the bride is able to make her grand entrance from for the ceremony, which makes you feel like Cinderella entering the ball. There is also a great place to set up for cocktails right outside the reception tent area, which makes the transition from cocktails to reception seamless. We also were able to have a cornhole game set up and a firepit lounge area to keep guests entertained during cocktails, giving you plenty of time to take photos uninterrupted. This venue has something for everyone. Not only is this a beautiful setting for your special day, the staff is extra attentive. We had champagne in the cutest country-style bridal suite, and the boys had their own area to hang out in prior to the ceremony. Whitney from Nella Terra went above and beyond to assist us with any questions we had during our planning process, and we were even surprised at the end of the reception with our names projected onto the hills, which was so special. We were so lucky to have found Nella Terra, and if we could go back and do it all over again, we would choose Nella Terra in a heartbeat.

My husband and I got married about a year ago at Nella Terra, and we continue to be in awe at the BEAUTY, UNIQUENESS, KINDNESS OF STAFF, and of course all the magical moments we had while celebrating our marriage that Nella Terra helped make possible. When my husband and I started our wedding venue shopping, we were looking for a venue that represented California, had the capacity of being able to accommodate our large wedding party/guests, and full of natural beauty. We quickly learned that Nella Terra hit all these points for us, and so many more. First off, Nella Terra is an absolute diamond of a wedding venue and offers the whole package. It is truly a hidden gem, nestled in the rolling golden CA hills (which was a must have on my husband’s list). The grounds are absolutely stunning, and truly picturesque, there are so many beautiful photography spots. We loved how the ceremony site was only a few steps away from the reception area, and the gazebo for cocktail hour is a great place for all your guests to enjoy a glass of wine or beer before the reception starts! As the bride, one of my favorite things about Nella Terra is the grand cascading staircase. It makes for the perfect entrance to the beginning of such a breathtaking and magical wedding day. I continue to cherish that moment walking down the staircase, taking the whole venue in and seeing all our wedding plans come to life. A few other items that we would like to mention: The benefit of having the option for “indoor” and outdoor. Having the large tent for the reception could be used for the ceremony if weather doesn’t cooperate. Even though the venue is quite large, having a smaller more intimate wedding, particularly during social distancing times would be absolutely beautiful and would still be able to provide you with the same beautiful and magical wedding day experience that you are dreaming of. There is TONS of parking for all your guests. The bridal cottage is so cute, and a fun place for the bride and all her gals to hangout in before the big moment! We cannot say enough about the Nella Terra Staff; very professional, responsive, and accommodating to certain questions and requests my husband and I had. We loved that Nella Terra made us feel like family and there were so many personal touches that made us feel special. Thank you to Whitney, Kendall, and Sharde for all their hard work that helped make our day super special and flawless and all other Nella Terra staff working behind the scenes. This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning their wine. Absolutely delicious, and there are many varieties to choose from! We are big pinot noir fans, and their wine does not disappoint! We are proud Nella terra wine club members and look forward to swinging by the winery to pick up our quarterly shipments, it is a way for us to enjoy the grounds and the beauty that Nella Terra offers. Not to mention reliving our wedding day each time we pick up our wine shipment. A friend of mine told me about Nella Terra because she said it was one of the prettiest weddings she had attended. When we did a venue tour, my husband and I fell in love and knew right away this was our venue! The grounds are very well kept and it’s a hidden gem in Sunol. There are so many photo opportunities for both wedding couples and guests: the long staircase, the bridge, the pond and trees, the grass fields, the large “LOVE” sign, etc. There’s also a very nice onsite bridal suite that brides can use when getting ready (air conditioned and furnished). We had guests flying from all over (domestically and internationally) and we wanted to make sure we chose a venue that was worth the trip and was nearby other attractions. I couldn’t recommend this venue enough for future brides. We have unforgettable memories and cherished photos from our wedding day thanks to Nella Terra. Aside from weddings, they also have tastings, sell wine, and host different events. Luckily this means my husband and I can take advantage of this and visit often when in town for date nights or when we want to walk down memory lane! Even if you aren’t looking for a wedding venue, still come check this place out for delicious wine and beautiful views. Tip: definitely take golden hour photos in their tall grass fields. The landscape is just breathtaking!

As Fremont natives it was incredibly exciting to get married in our hometown and somewhere close to our elderly parents who could attend with little to no problems. We decided to pay Nella Terra's exorbitant fees for a Friday night wedding in September 2020. Everything was going well until the COVID-19 pandemic started earlier this year. We did not hear a word from Nella Terra during the early stages of the pandemic until our second payment was due. At this point Nella Terra did not mention anything regarding postponing the payment, delaying our event, or any mention of the pandemic and its effects on weddings in 2020. It was clear they just wanted their money.We didn't hear anything back from Nella Terra until my fiance and I got ansty in March as the country shut down and the pandemic set in on the entire world. We expressed our concerns with hosting a wedding at their venue and particularly the safety of our parents, grandparents, and other at risk groups. Nella Terra did not appear concerned about the pandemic and assured us that it would be a non-issue for weddings in September, they were wrong. As the pandemic grew out of control through the summer we still never heard from Nella Terra until we again reached out reiterating our concerns from before and asking for a refund because it was clear that Nella Terra wouldn't be able to host what we agreed to originally. At this point Nella Terra was willing to admit that the pandemic was an issue and offered us some options to reschedule. These options were not reasonable and left us feeling like Nella Terra was trying to maximize their profit for 2020 and 2021. For example, after paying a high premium for an in wedding season evening event, Nella Terra offers us a Saturday morning (we would have to be out of sight by 2pm for the night wedding). The worst part is, if we want to host a wedding on a Friday in September 2021, we would have to pay an additional deposit of $6,000. According to Whitney, our original deposit \"vanished\". It is clear Nella Terra is not interested in dealing with couples currently affected by this pandemic because they are still advertising venue tours for new couples and various other options for reduced priced events. None of these options were made available to us because Nella Terra is only interested in maximizing the amount of money they can make during the COVID-19 pandemic. At this point, the idea of our dream wedding is long gone. We would never have agreed to a contract with Nella Terra if we had known what kind of people we were dealing with. We just want our money back and to move on. We all have better things to do with our lives, especially right now. For some reason Nella Terra continues to draw this out in the hopes we will cancel and they can enforce their contract and run away with our money without providing any services. The first time we visited Nella Terra I knew this venue was perfect for our wedding! The venue is absolutely stunning- you feel like you're in a little piece of paradise. The location is great, located right outside of Pleasanton & Livermore - easy to find hotels and restaurants for guests! From the beginning the family and staff were very helpful leading up to our wedding including connecting us with local vendors. We live out of town, so we took advantage of their hosted vendor fairs where we found most of our vendors. I would 100% recommend Nella Terra for your upcoming wedding!

Nella Terra was a dream come true! If you're looking for the perfect location for an unforgettable wedding... look no further! That same day- I contacted Nella Terra and got a wedding date on the calendar for a year later. Everything ran smoothly leading up to the wedding. The wedding coordinators do everything in their power to make the bride and groom's dreams a reality. The actual wedding day was perfection. I run high on anxiety but my worries melted away with the care and effort from the NT staff. The bridal cottage was everything... walking down the long elegant stairs made me feel like an absolute princess... the atmosphere was magical. I'm writing as a disappointed groom-to-be, and feel compelled to warn any couples from booking their wedding with Nella Terra. While we were impressed with the venue, we are livid with how NT and their required coordinator, Simply Lovely, are treating couples impacted by COVID19. Their business practices are shameful.For some background, we paid a premium to have our wedding scheduled for a Saturday in early June. Due to the 'shelter in place' order, we've been completely unable to continue planning our wedding, as all the contractors and businesses we need to work with, in addition to Nella Terra, are closed. So those businesses providing tuxes and scheduled fittings, my fiancé's and bridesmaids wedding dresses, caterers, entertainment etc. are all strictly shut down.To make things worse, Nella Terra has been a nightmare to work with throughout this ordeal. Initially, they downplayed the seriousness of the crisis and ignored our concerns stating there would be no issue having the wedding in early June. As the crisis worsened and CA instituted a lockdown, they seemed to better understand the severity of the crisis. Now with our wedding an impossibility, they are unwilling to reschedule us for the equivalent of what we have contracted for.Our contract clearly states in the event of an Act of God, Nella Terra will reschedule pending availability at no penalty. Since their Saturday schedule is booked thru Thanksgiving 2020, while it is not ideal, a postponement of our wedding another year to the Summer of 2021 would be a solution to at least consider. We requested to move our rescheduled wedding date to one of the many Saturdays they have open in Summer 2021, and were completely denied any of those open dates. They informed us this would be a loss of future revenue to them. The owners' correspondence has been callous, adding insult to injury. Due to their unwillingness to provide us what we contracted for, we requested a refund. The owners literally scoffed at us while refusing to even listen to our situation. They were quick to enforce the part of the contract that states there will be no refunds, but refuse to honor the part that states we can reschedule pending availability with no penalty.We paid for a Saturday Summer wedding which was important to us as most of our guests are traveling from out of state. NT has repeatedly refused to allow us to reschedule for a Saturday that is open on their calendar, instead offering us Monday through Thursday options in 2021. We would never have contracted for a weekday wedding. They also refuse to refund the difference in price from a weekend to weekday. Their reasoning is those dates are reserved for new clients only, because they need to consider the health of their business and prices are increasing in 2021. If we want to move our date to a Saturday next summer, we would have to forfeit all current payments (~$24K) and then pay the increased 2021 price. How is this not profiteering or extortion?It's clear to us NT is only concerned with making sure they don't miss a single cent of revenue, while cheating current clients out of what they paid for. We feel held hostage given we've paid almost the entire sum for the wedding. My fiancé is devastated, given how much she's put into planning this wedding for over a year now. Such a beautiful place to get married. Majestic would be the word I would use to described this incredible venue. Didn't require much decorating as the venue and surroundings do all the work for you. Grateful for the owners who were very accommodating and for sharing their winery with us on our special day.

Nella Terra Cellars is a gorgeous venue. When we came here to tour the space, we quickly realized that the pictures don't do it justice. You have to come see it in person to get a sense of just how beautiful it is.My favorite part was the variety of areas we had for our pictures. We had our wedding this past September so the the hills were golden and made for epic sunset pictures. The garden resulted in pictures of a completely different feel, almost like we were in an oasis in Palm Springs or something similar. The vineyards, which my now-husband said was his favorite part, was a lovely backdrop for our bridal party and family pictures. There's also a small waterfall and two bridges too. Literally so many options!Speaking of the vineyard, I loved that my walk 'down the aisle' included the stairs that go in between the vines. You can opt to only do half the stairs (or no stairs at all depending on your needs) but I chose to do the full 74 steps. It's such a surreal feeling to be standing at the top, walking towards your friends, your family, and the person that you're about to say forever to.I also really liked having our reception in their tent. When we signed our contract last year, we were told there were plans that they would put in a permanent farm house. I'm not sure what the current status or plan is but the tent was lovely. We got the smaller package but decided to add on the drapery. I highly recommend it because it gives such a romantic feel to the space. I still can't get over how pretty the drapery when I look at pictures or videos.I also have to mention that our experience with the staff was great. From scheduling the tour, to signing our contract, and then the actual day-of, everyone was so nice and easy to work with. If I could travel back in time to re-do our wedding, I would still choose Nella Terra Cellars!

Our guests haven't stopped raving about it being the most beautiful wedding they've been to, and a large part of it is with Nella Terra you get everything you could possibly want. Our only regret was how fast the day itself went, we barely got to soak in all we wanted from the fairytale-like pond/gardens, to bocce ball, and the lovely fire pit outside. It only means we'll for sure be back to visit and look back on the most perfect night :) We are SO appreciative for the most magical memories we'll cherish for a lifetime. The staff at Nella Terra really made the day perfect for all of us, including a day-of gift of a larger dance floor (which we put to good use). Thank you and we look forward to future visits with you all!

I really wish that I could give Nella Terra 100 stars! Everything about the wedding planning process went smoothly, and seamlessly thanks to the very professional, and detail oriented team of Nella Terra. I have witnessed so many friends getting married over the last few years, and watched them go through the hair pulling stress that wedding planning can cause. I can honestly say that my mind was at ease during the entire process leading up to our special day. Nella terra’s team makes you feel so special, because they are very passionate about making your wedding day everything that you’ve ever wanted, and more. Nella Terra’s venue is an absolute dream. The amount of time, and love that they have put into making their venue every bride’s greatest wishes come true is amazing. The landscaping, ambiance, and the perfect lighting was what stole my heart when I first toured Nella Terra. It is so romantic, warm, and welcoming.I wish that I could remarry the man of my dreams every single year at Nella Terra. It was such a perfect day, and I will never forget it. All of my guests that attended were in love with the venue, and amazed by the detail that they put into every aspect it. I am so grateful to the entire Nella Terra team, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about all of them. I would recommend this venue to everyone.

This is what we loved most about the venue, it allowed us to truly have a one of a kind experience and wedding for us and our guest. The staff was top notch and were very accommodating from beginning to end. We truly appreciated everything they did for us throughout the process, making our busy lives a lot easier to manage with everything that goes into creating the wedding experience. You will look at other venues as we did.. But don't be surprised if you arrive at Nella Terra and get that felling that you need to look no further! You will get that felling BTW! So just accept it and realize a great thing when you see it! We would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone, but all you need to do is just go look for yourself and you will likely feel the same as we did! We absolutely loved our wedding at Nella Terra and have no regrets about choosing them as our venue. From the first time we visited, we were impressed. There is something magical about driving into the venue passing the rolling hills (green in spring and golden in summer), farm land, and cows. Ex: they have a phone number you can call and someone will answer or get back to you usually within 1 business day. This doesn't sound like a big deal but it actually is when you are planning your wedding and you have questions you need answered. We worked with Kendall at Nella Terra and found her to be super professional, friendly and very responsive. Even though she officially does sales, she continued to support our questions after we signed our contract which I really appreciated. She was a huge help to us as we navigated the questions that inevitably come up during the planning process. The one thing I hope can be improved in the future is the restrictions. We were required to sign contracts with a planner and caterer that Nella Terra had an exclusive partnership with. While this arrangement is beneficial to helping run the wedding since all of these people need to work closely together and it definitely helps if they work together frequently and know the venue well, it also binds you to what pricing options and services those vendors offer. It also creates a dynamic where it sometimes feels like your vendors are working for Nella Terra instead of you. I would advise negotiating on the planning services. I chose the cheapest plan on the planner's provided list but realized later that I was doing most of the planning and my planner was actually functioning more as a day of coordinator. The planner also operates for Nella Terra ensuring that you fulfill Nella Terra requirements - ex: providing proof of insurance and signed code of conduct from external vendors. I think having a few more options to choose from for both planning and catering would improve the experience for future couples while also maintaining a smooth working relationship with Nella Terra. Another suggestion could be to bring day of coordination in house. All in all, we had a wonderful experience at Nella Terra on our wedding day. The Nella Terra staff and partners took good care of us - running all the coordination and details so we could enjoy the ride. It's hard to describe how special it is - but really all of the planning and work that culminates in a single jam packed day is totally worth it. It's one of those days you want to savor and re-live every minute.

They worked with us respecting our budget and made things happen for us that we did not think we would be able to afford. Honestly for what you get with this venue it is worth every penny! The staff is more than responsive, they are kind and you really feel like they value you as a couple. If you want a show stopping venue and a wedding that will be talked about for years to come you should definitely check this venue out!

We were married at Nella Terra in August 2018. We had both our ceremony and reception onsite. We toured a number of Bay Area wedding venues, and this is hands down one of the most breathtaking outdoor settings you'll find! We still get comments from guests on the beauty of Nella Terra. It was the perfect backdrop for gorgeous wedding photos that we'll treasure for a lifetime! I will never forget the moment the curtains opened, and I walked down the staircase arm-in-arm with my parents towards my soon-to-be husband. We worked with Whitney, and briefly Kendall while Whitney was on maternity leave. Both were prompt with replies and helpful in answering our many questions. They were kind and understanding - absolute pleasures to work with! We appreciated their flexibility in allowing us to bring in vendors outside their preferred list (aside from the caterer). The bridal suite is a beautiful, spacious and air-conditioned two-room building. It was a great place for my bridesmaids and I to gather before the ceremony. The groom's suite is a garage that's been converted to a tasting room for the winery. It served its purpose considering none of us had much time in our pre-wedding rooms. We were required to use On the Vine Catering for all of our food and beverage needs. Our guests liked it - we went with a taco bar! Naturally, all of our wine was from Nella Terra. We splurged on the wine & beer package so we could select our own wines, and they were all incredible! We didn't have a choice in beer, but people seemed to enjoy the one offered (a blonde from Altamont Brewery, I believe). I've read the bathrooms as luxury porta potties, but they have flushable toilets, are incredibly clean and tastefully decorated! We didn't have, nor hear, any complaints about them. There was also a wheelchair-accessible option for those who couldn't climb the stairs. For less mobile guests, they also offer a golf cart to get from the parking lot to the ceremony site below (the shuttle the majority of the guests use has some steps).If we had to do it all over again, we'd choose Nella Terra in a heartbeat. We wanted a peaceful, private outdoor venue to dance the night away with family and friends. We got exactly that! Pro tip: pay the extra fee to arrive more than the allotted 2 hours pre-ceremony, especially if you're doing a first look. Your bridal party and photographer will thank you.

The dream wedding venue! Nella Terra is so beautiful and tucked away, our guests were raving about it. There are so many beautiful spots to take pictures, and it's very spacious. There was plenty of room for our 250 guests so that no one felt like they were on top of each other. I worked with Whitney to book our big day, and she was really nice & informative. Sharde was our day of coordinator and she was a dream, so sweet & helpful. We also met the owner, who was really friendly as well. All of the staff, including the shuttle driver and parking attendants were awesome. Nella Terra is really a beautiful place, and it shows that the family takes so much pride in making the venue perfect. The grounds are so well maintained, and they are very thoughtful with the layout and design of the space. I wholeheartedly recommend the venue to any bride looking for a dreamy & romantic spot.

Everywhere you look there is yet another picture perfect photo opportunity/background and I know both our photographer and our guests loved that fact. The team was very simple to work with, accommodated our requests for things that were a little bit different than the norm, and were always incredibly kind. The bridal suite is incredibly convenient for getting ready & holding the bridal party before the ceremony, there is plenty of parking available, and the price felt right for everything we got for it. One thing to note would be that is can be very breezy (windy) throughout the day and into the evening, so it is something to keep in mind when planning small details (i.e. you can't have petals lining the aisle without them just flying away!). We had out perfect day here and would not trade it for anything! Thank you Nella Terra!

Have you ever watched “The Huntsman” when they enter into the fairies world? Nella Terra reminds me of that scene. You are surrounded with a stunning, lush landscape, the vineyards, the pond, birds, cows, horses, rolling hills, nature and so much more that makes it magical. Everything was very organized. We were guests at a wedding at Nella Terra Cellars last week-end. It was absolutely beautiful! The view at the ceremony site was beyond amazing. We were led to the reception site (by the owner of NTC!) down a gentle slope to a large and gorgeously appointed tent, complete with white twinkle lights and heaters. The service and food was awesome. I hope that we are invited to other weddings or events here. In my opinion, no other event site in the Bay Area can compare with Nella Terra Cellars

They went above and beyond to make our day perfect and special! Our entire bridal party and family felt the love the entire night. And every single guest we talked to mentioned how blown away they were by how beautiful the venue was. Because it is a private venue, you really feel like you’re in your own world and nothing else matters or even exists other than you, your groom and your special day. I cannot say enough positive things about Nella Terra. It was definitely love at first sight when my husband and I came to check out Nella Terra early 2017. We checked out several venues after Nella Terra and none of them came even close to comparison. We knew we had found \"the one\". We had the first wedding of 2018 here last weekend and it was seriously one of the most beautiful venues I've ever been to for a wedding (and I'm not just saying this because it's my own wedding :P). The views are AMAZING!! We had a spring wedding so all of the hills were green...vs summer/fall weddings will have \"golden\" hills. Both are beautiful! The bridal suite at the venue is gorgeous...SO spacious that all 8 of my bridal party were able to move around with plenty of space. The property is huge so you definitely need a cart/shuttle to take you around which Nella Terra provided for us. There are just so many great scenic spots for your videographer/photographer to capture. Those 74 steps down to the pergola, while dramatic, are so worth it for an event as special as your wedding! What better time to be dramatic than for your own wedding??All of our guests said the venue was gorgeous and they had never experienced a wedding venue like this. It's definitely worth checking out!

The staff at Nella Terra went out of their way to help make our day special. From providing golf cart transportation for the photographer and us as the couple for photo opportunities, to a very special surprise at the end of the night, the staff went above and beyond.At the end of the day, Nella Terra was the perfect venue for our wedding. Fabulous, gorgeous venue in every way. My guests loved taking pictures and walking the grounds. The bridal entrance (walking down the huge stair case) was an extremely romantic and dramatic moment- my guests gasped when they saw me walking towards them. Vendor was easy to work with.

Meet the Team (Director of Sales) We have over eight years experience in the wedding and event business. We're a private, family owned and operated winery and vineyard and are truly flexible in making each event special to our couple. We started weddings and events at Nella Terra in 2014 and average 75 weddings a year, as we are closed in the Winter season. We've created a one of a kind venue for your once in a lifetime event. We offer water features, beautifully landscaped gardens, bocce ball courts, fire pits, and lushes vineyards for you and your guests to enjoy.
