New Mexico Museums and Historic Sites Reviews
Elizabeth Cerny-Chipman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-06-2017 We got married at the Museum Hill /Museum of International Folk Art last June. I really think this is one of the hidden gems for wedding venues in Santa Fe that isn't a generic hotel and is affordable. We used the Meem Auditorium in the Laboratory of Anthropology as our ceremony site, which has a classic New Mexico feel. It was intimate, but held our 120 guests well. It was a unique spot and didn't require much decoration because it was so beautiful on its own. We had our cocktail hour outside at the Bartlett Patio at the Museum of International Folk Art. It worked out perfectly because we wanted an outside part of the wedding but didn't want to worry about having a reception get rained out. Our reception was in the atrium inside. The layout worked really well for our wedding. The space is really clean and simple, so you could take the decorations almost any direction. We put up papel picado flags, which looked amazing. We had our first dance on the beautiful bridge in the middle so that everyone could see easily. The dancing after that was in the Neutrogena Lobby, which felt more like a dance floor space. That space has a wooden floor, which saved us from renting a dance floor. One of my favorite things about the museum was that our guests could go into the Girard Gallery. A lot of them commented how it really made the wedding feel special and true to that Santa Fe artsy vibe. Additionally, the guards were absolutely fantastic. They were really helpful with guiding the set-up and during the wedding. I would definitely use the space again. Reviewed on 02-09-2017
