The venue was SO accommodating, from the rooms they were able to provide to the ballroom setup to all the areas for photo ops. All the staff were EXTREMELY helpful, collecting our bags as we arrived, making sure all our decor and flowers got to the ballroom and just making sure we had everything we needed. Rachel was an absolute dream to work with - she answered every single question we had in advance, was upfront about any and all fees and ensured our day went as smoothly as possible. Throughout my entire planning process, I could always count on her for a prompt response with answers to any questions I had or resolutions to any new requests and concerns I'd throw her way. Being able to have full trust in Rachel was really the greatest gift I could ask for. She made the process so stress-free and it's worth mentioning she's super sweet and a joy to be around! My guests rang their praises after the big day too. The food and bar service was top notch. I used the house centerpieces that were gorgeous. Prior to booking the Marriott my husband and I looked at a few other venues. Those venues did not fit us. As soon as we walked into the hotel we were excited. Once we spoke with Rachel (our wedding coordinator at The Marriott) and she provided us with some information and a tour we were sold on the venue. It has everything you could want or need. Wonderful rooms. Top notch customer service, a great in house restaurant/bar. Amazing food. Space to accommodate whatever type of event you want! Did we mention that they are exclusive that they only hold 1 event per night? But most importantly, they have RACHEL!!!!! Rachel Deschennes attention to detail, her communication, her amazing personality made the experience truly otherworldly! We had our food tasting in April 2022 and were again completely blown away. They accommodated little tweaks we wanted to have changed as well as any dietary restrictions. At no point throughout the planning process did I ever think that something would slip through the cracks. The planning process with The Marriott and the work of Rachel made our wedding a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Most of our guests booked their rooms for the weekend at The Marriott and they all loved their stay. Easy check ins and an amazing staff. The location is aazig for your guests. They are steps away from some of the best shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. For Newport, there is NO BETTER value for a world class, upscale, all inclusive wedding venue! Rachel was outstanding in all aspects of the planning process and was SO organized! She kept us on track throughout the process including sending regular reminders of questions that needed answers, when the next billing would occur etc. She seriously made planning a wedding so easy. I would 1000% recommend the Newport Marriott. Great location, amazing accommodations, food was EXCELLENT and fun event spaces. Our guests especially loved the atrium for cocktail hour. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, we knew our planning timeline would look different. Rachel was no less than absolutely stellar when it came to communicating with us. She made the process simple, efficient, and stress-free. She didn't miss a beat when it came to the planning process and we knew we were in great hands with her. Leading up to the big day, she kept in touch with us on a weekly basis to make sure we were up to date on all of the updated governor's executive orders and in compliance with COVID-19 event requirements. On the day of, I didn't worry about a single thing because Rachel had it covered. I can't recommend the venue enough. The ballrooms are beautiful, the food is phenomenal, and the staff are wonderful. The hotel has so many amenities that make it a fantastic hotel for guests to stay at. We had the time of our lives and still feel like the whole day as an absolute dream. Thank you, Rachel! The decor is tastefully nautical and every room captures the seaside sunlight beautifully. We had our ceremony in the atrium, the cocktail hour among the second floor balconies, and the reception in the newly renovated ballroom. The Weatherly room which was supplied as a bridal holding room is located conveniently across the hall from the ballroom and from the staircase to the atrium - it provided some much needed privacy for the bridal party ahead of the ceremony and for us immediately after the ceremony. We took advantage of the complimentary bridal suite on the seventh floor and were blown away by the spaciousness and delightful accent decorations. The bridesmaids and I had a blast getting ready there, and we ended up using the outdoor balcony to share a post-reception toast with the entire bridal party! In addition to the ambiance, our main reason for choosing this venue was the incredible food and the amazing team of staff. My husband has worked with most of the event vendors in Rhode Island, and he had nothing but praise for the Marriott staff and their catering. From Kate who helped us book the venue down to the attendants and valets who helped us with the cars, everyone was courteous and accommodating. My husband has worked with Bruce before, and he was so gracious in working with us to bring in additional A/V equipment and developing a cohesive design (especially important as he works in technical and theatrical design). The event manager, Chelsea was a joy to work with - always prompt and helpful in our email correspondence. Her detailed event plans made putting together the ceremony and reception a breeze. She and Celio were so gracious in guiding us throughout the event - from making sure everything ran smoothly and perfectly to making sure our plates and glasses were always full. Our guests loved the open bar and signature cocktails, and our Ben & Jerry's ice cream bar! We highly recommend the Marriott for the location, ambiance, food, and the experience. For starters, the venue is beautiful, so we were already off to a great start. The service and the staff here are unmatched. From the front desk team to our events team, each person went above and beyond to make our day incredibly special.We had the pleasure of working with Chelsea on our big day and we so thankful for everything she did! Chelsea is warm, professional, detail oriented, organized and so calm and collected! She made the entire planning process an absolute breeze. From customizing our package to ensuring that not a single detail was overlooked, she really helped us pull together our vision.The execution of this day was beyond anything I could have ever expected. Chelsea and our bridal attendant Celio were incredible the day of. We did not worry about a single thing the entire day. Chelsea was with me for every big moment to make sure things were going perfectly. Even when my hair fell out after my first look, she was right there perfectly calm, helping me over to the salon to have it pinned back up. Her easy-going demeanor relieved so much stress for my husband and I, we can’t thank her enough! Celio was also a godsend! He was the nicest guy and put so much care into our night, from helping us gather the troops for the entrances, to fluffing my dress and calming my nerves before I walked down the aisle, to making sure that my husband and I ate. He didn’t skip a beat. Celio is truly a gem, the exact person every couple needs on their wedding day. Both Celio and Chelsea are everything you look for when you are booking your wedding. Invested in every single moment from the second you walk in the door to the moment you check out.I could quite literally go on for paragraphs about every other detail, the food, the rooms, the service, the flawless flow of events. All of these making our day the BEST wedding we could have imagined. Most importantly, the staff at this hotel didn’t just make my husband and I feel special and appreciated on this amazing weekend, they made all our guests feel this way. She was professional and prompt in her responses. She knew exactly what she was looking for in terms of things we needed to accomplish based off a pre-wedding timeline which really helped us plan better. She was a great point of contact for the outside caterers we hired to cater the indian food for the indian wedding. On the day itself, one of our main vendors for the setup of the stage and other decorations came short on some of the decor. The Marriott was able to help us through the stressful last minute task of decorating our sweetheart table in the banquet and the actual stage area for the ceremony. I was blown away with the efficiency and professionalism of the whole team. The sound service that we procured through the Marriott was also top notch. We told them exactly what we wanted during all the planning and they succeeded getting it done. Not one complaint about the food, the service, or anything for that matter. Bonus marriott reward points were a nice treat as well. Their bridal suite was a nice private room that the wedding party retreated to before the cocktail hour. The servers had given us a nice spread of apps and drinks in that private room so we could unwind after hours of pictures before seeing our guests. It was a really nice touch.10/10 would recommend! However after looking at many venues and just not having that feeling, we went to the Newport Marriott. From our first few minutes in the tour, we knew. The entire space is stunning, and it's location on the water still allowed for beautiful waterfront pictures. All of our worries and questions were answered quickly during planning, and all our suggestions and ideas honored on the day of. We had our ceremony in the atrium and the entire space was beautiful. However, the reception was where the entire event team out did themselves. Everything was put together stunningly, with every detail looked after. I have never met a more professional and helpful event team, everyone was over the top amazing. From planning, to ceremony, to the very last minute of the reception we were ecstatic with everything! Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma ruined those plans. With a bit over 2 weeks before our wedding date, we scrambled to plan another wedding for 9/30. From the first contact with the Newport Marriott, they couldn't have been more generous & accommodating with us. We were able to head to Newport for a tasting. It was such a great experience. Everyone from the valet staff, front desk, to the Sales staff welcomed us with open arms and were completely empathetic w our situation. It truly was touching. In the weeks leading up to our wedding the whole event team (Kate, Chelsea, and Rachel) was fantastic to work with, and were extremely attentive.Cut to the wedding weekend... it was FANTASTIC! EVERY detail was taken care of. The Atrium & the Ballroom were so beautifully set up! The food was outstanding and the staff was amazing! This all complimented an amazingly gorgeous hotel. All of our guests had a great time & couldn't stop raving about the food & how good everything turned out. I would definitely recommend the Newport Marriott for a wedding reception. I have visited several vendors in the Newport, Rhode Island, and Mass area. We needed a place that could fit anywhere from 215-300 ppl and still be affordable. The Newport Marriott was the place. They wowed me from the first visit to see the hotel. The Sales rep, Katherine Bastien was fantastic to work with. She was patient and very responsive to all my emails and inquiries. When we met in person she made me feel comfortable during a very exciting, but overwhelming process. After we sign with them I started to work with Mary Lynn who was great during our tasting. She made sure to make notes of allergies and concerns. About 2 months before the big day Mary Lynn was promoted to another role. Normally this would be very stressful change but Chelsea Clouse took charge right away. She was extremely responsive to all of me emails. Even the night of the rehearsal dinner she responded at 9:30pm when I sent a last minute issue to her. Then during the wedding Celio’s was in charge of making sure the reception and cocktail hour moved seamlessly. He was attentive and fantastic with any question my husband and I had. And most importantly he was on top of us to make sure we ate! If you’d been married then you know the reception flies by, and you get caught up talking to everyone that was able to join you for the special day. It’s easy to forget to eat! From start to finish this team was fantastic to work with. They are professional, attentive, accommodating and truly helped make the process less stressful. It couldn’t have been more perfect! I would definitely hire the Newport Marriott again. They are a beautiful venue in downtown Newport and will not break your bank! Reviewed on 19-05-2017

The renovations came out absolutely gorgeous and our guests were really wowed, especially because the rooms were such a great price! Granted, we did get married in December, but the hotel had sold out every weekend since they reopened last April. We were a little disappointed we couldn't add on a few more rooms for the block rate, but we dealt with it. The only drawback was having to contact different employees for post-wedding brunch, after-party, block, etc., which were sometimes difficult to get a hold of. Overall, great experience!! My husband and I were set on getting married in Newport, but were astonished at the prices and requirements from a lot of the venues. The Marriott was a no brainier for us, not only for the cost, but the value associated that they offer wedding receptions. On top of the amazing value, their wedding team Mary Lynn & Jenna are dreams to work with. Every little question and every \"big\" problem I had, they solved with ease and made sure that everything went smoothly! Food was perfect, venue is great (especially if you want an after party downtown!), and overall everything looked amazing. Our event coordinator was excellent at making everything just as we wanted it, and the servers made sure we always had everything we needed. Our reception was absolutely beautiful, from the cocktail hour in the atrium to the dinner and dancing that followed. The only reasons I rated them a 4 and not a 5 was because I suspect that the cleanup crew at the end of the night took a lot of the leftover candy from our candy buffet (which was purchased separately and brought in by us) and they didn't pack all of the belongings we brought as well as I would have liked. We also had wedding crashers that we had to ask to leave and I suspect that people who were not guests for our wedding took some things from our bathroom baskets. Despite these small kinks after the fact, it did not affect our overall love for our experience at the Marriott. Reviewed on 25-07-2013

When we finally found the Newport Marriott, we were pleasantly surprised that everything that we were looking to incorporate into the wedding was included in their packages. Everything was broken down into price per person, which included EVERYTHING that you could possibly think of - cake, champagne toast, appetizers, dinner, cocktail hour, and other additional fees that are usually tacked on at the end for a big surprise. In addition to how reasonably priced it was, the food was AMAZING. We received so many comments from guests about how delicious their meals were and they definitely were right! The staff that assisted us with everything on the day of the reception could not have been more helpful and they were so friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. When meeting with our coordinator, we explained that we wanted the food and all other formalities out of the way quickly so that we could get onto the party and the staff actually made that happen, which we were extremely thrilled about. Plus, guests were able to have fun at the reception and just go right upstairs to their rooms, which was another added bonus.
