Located in the vibrant West 7th Neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota - The historically renovated historic North Garden Theater holds up to 150 guests for weddings. Cast iron trusses float high in the air below 20 foot tall original wood ceilings supported by century old brick pilasters. This industrial chic setting is highlighted with black carriage house sconces and a central chandelier… an ideal backdrop to add your personal flair, yet elegant "as is" if you have a smaller (or no) decorating budget. The North Garden Theater features full theatrical lights, sound, media, tables/chairs, private dressing room, full bar, catering kitchen, parking nearby, and open concept floor plan to create the wedding and/or reception of your dreams!

Reasons why I love The NGT: 1. Ryan and Tina were AWESOME to work with - very quick to get back to emails and answer questions. Super accommodating with all the vendors I was working with and I felt like I could customize EVERYTHING with them (down to the jalapeno margaritas that Tina and Ryan prepared!). 2. So reasonably priced! Security was included with our rental, they helped with parking, set a beautiful ambiance of the space, included tables and chairs (and helped with setup and tear down), did a custom marquee message, and so much more. We had the venue from early afternoon all the way to midnight. We were able to reserve the space the night before to host our rehearsal dinner and complete the setup (pro tip: get late night pizza from Joe and Stan's - you will not regret!). 3. Customizations all around! I've eluded to this already a little, but it was so great it deserves a second mention - every time I came to The NGT with a hope to customize something they said \"no problem!\" and made it happen without adding a bill unto my tab, which is so incredibly rare in wedding planning. 4. Beautiful space with room for everyone and everything. We had our ceremony and reception at The NGT - it was perfect because there was a space for the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready separately, a seamless transition from ceremony to dinner, and the venue itself allows for beautiful lighting and sound. Thank you again Ryan and Tina for everything - you two are A W E S O M E!

The North Garden Theater was such a great place to host our wedding reception and we were so happy to work with Ryan and Tina. During the planning process, all the information we needed was easy to find on the North Garden Theater website or Ryan was able to answer our questions. Leading up to our event Ryan and Tina were there to help in any way and were attentive to our needs. We felt like we were able to make the day our own without paying an arm and a leg. The day of our reception Ryan and Tina made the night smooth so easy. They were attentive to our needs and worked with us and our guests. All of our guests were so impressed by the space and by the North Garden Theater staff. NGT is the perfect space to use if you want to make the day your own and work with a great team. I am so happy we went with NGT.

What a wonderful experience! We had our wedding and reception at North Garden and it was perfect! Ryan and Tina were pros with everything! We were having issues finding a wedding and reception venue and looked at North Garden Theater on a whim. Ryan & Tina were gems to work with! There were a few miscommunication spots but that wasn’t entirely on them, and they were fixed fairly quickly. Our guests had a wonderful time and loved the custom marquee we were able to put up with the help of Ryan & Tina. Over all, we would definitely use them again for another event. Really enjoyable over all!!!

We were really struggling with venue options for our wedding reception until we found North Garden Theater. Ryan and Tina are so easy to get along with, and were very responsive when we had questions. They let us bring in our own catering options and music while making the process very easy. Plus, we got to customize the marquee, which was a lot of fun. Our guests were raving about the venue the entire night. This is the perfect place for a low-key wedding.

We just had our wedding with Ryan and Tina this spring. We found them on The Knot and we are so glad we did! My wife is a performer and they accommodated us to make space for her band to play, have a ceremony, and have a dynamite reception, all in one unbelievably classy space. This is a great venue if you want something that is reasonably priced with a vintage and slightly industrial vibe. Ryan is a pleasure to work with, he was very responsive to emails and knows all the questions to ask even though you may not know what you want or need. He's very experienced so you can trust that your wedding will go smoothly and as planned. I held my reception here and I was so pleased when I walked in after our ceremony. Tables were set up like we agreed to, the lights made great ambiance, there was room to dance, catering was set up and everyone was already having a good time. I'm so glad I chose this venue!

I am so so glad we decided to have our wedding reception at North Garden Theater, it was the absolute perfect spot! Ryan and Tina are a dream to work with - super responsive to all of our questions and on top of all the details. They easily accommodated all of our customized requests, and even had some special features we didn't think to ask for (like custom cocktails and special dance floor lighting for Prince songs - which we loved). The space is gorgeous, elegant, and really doesn't need any extra decorations, and they set up everything with our caterers before we even got there, so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy the party! I loved that we could plug our dance playlist into their sound system (which means we didn't have to hire a DJ), and they also provided a photo background with great lighting for our polaroid station (which our guests loved). All in all, we had an amazing night at North Garden Theater, and a fantastic experience working with Ryan and Tina. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

This is hands down the hidden gem of all event centers on both sides of the river! We’ve planned a wedding, showers, anniversary party and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs over the past 5 years. NGT gets A’s in every category. Management is creative, generous and detail oriented. The space is upscale, flexible, tech forward, and inviting. And the intangibles like parking overflow, local catering referrals, and family inclusion are just icing on the cake. We’d recommend the Theater to anyone planning a Twin Cities event to remember.

My husband found this venue, and we both immediately fell in love when we toured it. We originally met Ryan, and he was so sweet and personable that we felt instantly at home. The venue is incredibly reasonably priced, so for two restaurant industry people who wanted to get married, this was perfectly within budget. My husband and I are queer, so it meant the world to me that they were so understanding and accepting immediately. The venue was personalizable every step of the way, which let us go wild with our forgotten circus themed wedding. They have a list of preferred caterers, but allow any caterer you'd like with a license, and the bar was completely customizable. We love a family business, and that's exactly what this theater is.I cannot recommend them enough for any event. (Not to mention we've loved every theater production we've seen here!)

We had the best time at our wedding reception over the weekend. Everything was beautifully set up and all of our guests enjoyed it. Such a beautiful venue and the owners are so great to work with. Not to mention the cost was so adorable. If I had to plan another wedding, I’d do it here again lol. I will be recommending them over and over again!

The owners Ryan and Tina were unbelievably kind and helpful while planning our day and the day of. They have a beautiful Bride’s room to get ready and take photos in. The venue has a great sound system, lights, disco ball, and everything you could need for the reception so we didn’t even hire a DJ we just made a playlist - very budget friendly. NGT is amazing! Planning a wedding in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic had many challenges. It meant so much to us to have a vendor who was willing to work with us and help us create the evening we wanted. They quickly adapted to our needs as MN regulations changed over and over. Ryan & Tina were so easy to work with and planning the details was a breeze. They made sure all our tastes were accommodated. On the day of the wedding, Ryan, Tina and their son were on top of everything. They helped so much with decorations, sound, lighting and last minute tasks. The venue itself is unique and hip. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the vibe of the theater. All the costs were up front and straight forward. So many of the other venues I looked at had extra hidden fees and requirements. NGT has dance lights and sound system built in, bar built in, great parking option, beautiful uplighting, tables, table cloths, and chairs all set up perfectly before we got there, etc. So many details that helped make the day go smoother. We really can’t recommend them enough.

NGT is amazing! Planning a wedding in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic had many challenges. It meant so much to us to have a vendor who was willing to work with us and help us create the evening we wanted. They quickly adapted to our needs as MN regulations changed over and over. Ryan & Tina were so easy to work with and planning the details was a breeze. They made sure all our tastes were accommodated. On the day of the wedding, Ryan, Tina and their son were on top of everything. They helped so much with decorations, sound, lighting and last minute tasks. The venue itself is unique and hip. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the vibe of the theater. All the costs were up front and straight forward. So many of the other venues I looked at had extra hidden fees and requirements. NGT has dance lights and sound system built in, bar built in, great parking option, beautiful uplighting, tables, table cloths, and chairs all set up perfectly before we got there, etc. So many details that helped make the day go smoother. We really can’t recommend them enough.

We chose to dial back our guest list to just immediate family, and hosted a much smaller version of our wedding and reception at the North Garden Theater in August of 2020. Not only were Ryan and Tina incredibly flexible in allowing us to move our date – they were eager to provide creative solutions on how to make a smaller event work. Throughout the entire process they were extremely easy to work with and were timely in all their communications. They were very accommodating during our set-up and tear-down; and even provided a few extra special touches to really make this an unbelieve experience for us. We cannot recommend the North Garden Theater enough – especially for anyone looking for a beautiful, safe venue for their weddings/receptions during this pandemic. The North Garden Theater encapsulates St. Paul; the venue space is beautifully renovated to represent historic St. Paul. It’s simply gorgeous.Now because our overall experience was so fantastic working with Ryan and Tina and with how beautiful the venue is; we plan to have them host our larger gathering in May of 2021. But we booked a showing just to be sure...And we are so glad we did! What the North's have done with the space is magnificent. Ryan and Tina are so accommodating with any customization we needed and they run the bar, and much of the hospitality themselves, which comes complimentary with the rental. All of our guests were so surprised at how unique and fun this space and reception was for our purposes. If you're looking for both a unique and reasonable venue, this is your place!

Our guests loved the feel of the venue and the story of it's history and renovation. We were especially pleased with the option to personalize the marquee, and the colored uplights on the indoor brick (we chose not to bring any additional decorations, and we didn't need them). They have a sound system all set up, so we just plugged in a phone and played a spotify playlist - wonderfully easy. We are not a traditional, boring couple so we wanted a venue that wasn't the hotel ballroom everyone else uses. I loved the character of the theater and that we could use our own food vendor (we went with awesome food trucks). Ryan and Tina helped us order our specialty wine and even our vendors said that this venue was one of the coolest they had ever seen. My only disappointment was that we had to eventually leave, I could have stayed there all night.

Ryan and Tina North (Owner) Tina and I (Ryan) are the owners of the North Garden Theater. We saved this historic movie theater from the St. Paul wrecking ball in December of 2015.
