Located in Denham Springs, LA, Oakleigh House of Receptions is a rustic countryside barn and woodlands wedding and event venue. Both wedding ceremonies and receptions can benefit from backdrops of manicured landscapes and mature oaks. Here, you can host your intimate or large event in the comfort of indoor facilities or the beauty of outdoor gardens.
Oakleigh House of Receptions allows you private spaces to get ready before the wedding ceremony and reception. Divided into two sections, each half of the couple will have their own area. When the time comes for the ceremony, a variety of locations can be selected. These include a spacious deck, a stone patio, and a landscaped garden. Vows can be exchanged in front of natural backdrops before the wedding party heads into the barn for a reception. Alternatively, other outdoor locations can accommodate up to 200 loved ones, or be fitted to suit parties closer to 50 guests. Other event facilities included in rentals are a fully-equipped kitchen and an outdoor cooking area.
Oakleigh House of Receptions owners Donald and Sylvia Ott endeavor to bring couples’ visions to life at their property. To achieve this, they have accumulated a plethora of rental items, including furniture, a wedding arch, and aisle markers. Also available is a dance floor. Cleanup can be accommodated, so you will not have to worry about staying late to tidy the event space. Outside vendors, such as bar services, entertainment, or photographers, are welcome on the premises. Likewise, caterers can be hired for food provisions, or couples can supply their own celebratory meals.
My husband and I were looking for a casual venue space that allowed us flexibility in making our wedding how we wanted. This venue helped us achieve that and more! Loved the rustic feel and the unique layout. We also loved having full access to the space with very minimal limitations. Ms. Tibby was absolutely wonderful to work with and made the whole experience as stress free as possible. Very thankful we found this hidden gem and everyone commented how beautiful our wedding was, even though we did the bare minimum for decor. Highly recommend this venue and Ms. Tibby to anyone looking for a casual/ stress free space to host their wedding. Reviewed on 03-11-2023
Katie Loyd(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-06-2020 Oakleigh House was perfect! Mrs. Tibby was more than accommodating, especially since we were a part of the rescheduled pandemic weddings. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception at this location and received nothing but awesome reviews from all of our guests on how beautiful the venue was. It had plenty of bathrooms, upstairs so the ladies can get dressed and dolled up, downstairs had a room for the men to get ready, a little bar for the bartender, kitchen that is perfect for receptions that you are catering yourself and she even offered chairs to rent for the ceremony. Definitely made my pandemic nightmare turn into the dream it should have been from the beginning! Reviewed on 15-07-2020
Darren Wilson(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-12-2017 The venue is beautiful however the owner is not easy to work with. She was nice but she is very restricted on an unreasonable amount of time you get for the venue and any extra time will cost you. We had to do a lot of decorating which really put us in a time crunch. Also she has her own decorations up and will not let you remove them and put them back. She is not easy to get in touch with and It was also difficult to get my deposit back back. The venue was a great price but In the end it just didn’t make up for all of the stress that came with it. Paige Sharber(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2011 The Oakleigh House was the best place for our wedding!! The owner is very easy to work with and price was very reasonable. You have complete customization of how you want to set up everything. I would highly recommend this location, and only caution is the long drive out to the place. It is a very rustic decor but is absolutely gorgeous. Reviewed on 10-08-2011
Jessie Bell(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2011 For my wedding, I was looking for a good sized reception hall that would not require me to use a specific caterer or charge by the head. Oakleigh was perfect! \r\rThe Oakleigh House of Receptions can comfortably accommodate 150 guests or more. It has a nice rustic feel (that was not too overwhelming for a city girl like me) and comes with some permanent decorations (white tulle and white string lights) that really saved us some time and effort. All we had to do was arrange the chairs and awesome tables (you have to see them--they are big crosscut sections of trees mounted on top of old Singer sewing machine bottoms--so neat!) and add centerpeices and laterns in our colors. \r\rTibby was always very helpful and reachable by cell or email. \r\rThe ONLY downside with the Oakleigh House is it's so far out of the city (my ceremony was about 20-25 minutes away in Denham Springs). However, its location is part of its charm and it is well worth the drive! Reviewed on 21-06-2011
