We recently celebrated our wedding at the breathtaking OceanCliff Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island in early May 2023, and it was nothing short of a fairytale. OceanCliff's natural panoramic views serve as a breathtaking backdrop for the wedding and we had such little work to do to decorate any further. Everything about our wedding day was perfect - a pure 10/10, We were hesitant to have a March wedding due to the uncertainty of Mother Nature but our day was simply amazing and truly a day to remember!The grounds are truly stunning no matter the time of the year so we opted to have our First Look outside. While it was cold, we are so happy that we got the chance to be outside and the natural backdrop made our photos even more beautiful! The staff at OceanCliff are knowledgeable, patient, and willing to work with you on any questions or comments you might have. Susanne was always there for us and Jim was perfect throughout the planning process. The waitstaff during our reception were truly wonderful and ensured that everyone had a blast - my husband and I had exceptional service! They took the vision I had for our big day and made it a reality!The food is amazing & the views when you step into the ballroom are breathtaking. Not many venues have it all but OceanCliff checks all the boxes.We recommend OceanCliff for any future event you might have and if it's your wedding, you are in great hands!

Ocean Cliff was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish everyone there I encountered was nothing but kind and super helpful. I knew from the moment I stepped foot on the grounds that this was the place for me and when I saw that ceremony space out there on the lawn I got choked up! I could see myself getting married there and didn’t have to look any further. They made the big day and the days leading up to it less stressful for me as they had every detail figured out allowing me to just tell them what I wanted and sit back and let them do the rest. And on my wedding day they treated me like a princess! They helped me in ways I didn’t even know I needed! From Susanne Day to the girls that helped us on our wedding everyone was just so awesome and superb I wish I could re-live that day over and over again! Thank you all there at Ocean Cliff for making our wedding day so extra, extra special ! Xoxo!

I am a proud Father of the Bride. My wife and I had the pleasure of hosting our daughter’s wedding at OceanCliff this past fall. The OceanCliff staff is the most talented and passionate team with members that have the aptitude and the passion to deliver a wedding of high caliber and uncompromising standard of excellence at a venue that is unmatched and unparalleled byany property in the Northeast. During our OceanCliff pre-wedding meeting with Taylor Russo, we witnessed a well-organized, passionate caring and sensitive team member with a can-do type attitude. She was well prepared to execute the mission with ownership to a well-focused vision of delivering an exceptional event. Taylor, Alison Davis, Susanne, Joe, and several other OC staff members were integral to the success of the wedding, and of the planning leading up to the big day. We could not have executed such a flawless wedding without their intelligence, camaraderie, hard work, and support. I find this kind of passion and work ethic to be exceptional in a period of time where it is difficult to retain high quality talent and in a time where it is difficult to replace this kind of passionate talent.My wife and I were, and remain, truly impressed with the OceanCliff’s exceptional performance. We LOVE Oceancliff!! My Husband and I got married at Oceancliff this past August, and we cannot say enough good things about this venue. We toured and booked with Susanne, and from day one we felt well taken care of. She helped to make Oceancliff feel like the perfect spot for us, and we truly knew we were putting our wedding in the best of hands. We booked two years in advance, and throughout the long planning process, Susanne and all other staff members were always eager to answer our questions and provide planning guidance. From booking, to planning, to having the BEST wedding day, everything exceeded our expectations. All the staff was friendly, professional, accommodating, and made us feel very special. Our wedding was also seamless, I honestly don't think one singular thing went wrong. In addition to the wonderful staff, the venue is also absolutely gorgeous. We had the best views and the most beautiful photos to look back on. Finally, you can always come back and visit- whether that's for an overnight stay or for a drink at the Safari Room- you can't beat that! Oceancliff is the best and we wouldn't change a thing- thank you Oceancliff!

Our son & daughter in laws wedding was just held at Ocean Cliff. From the moment the contract was signed until the very end of the evening our experience was pretty perfect. Amanda (sales dept.) was an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s experienced, thorough & super kind. Our day of person, Devon, was fantastic. He was totally on the ball, helpful, available & overall a great guy. The outdoor space where the ceremony & cocktail hour were held was immaculate & magnificent. You cannot beat the setting. The indoor space was equally incredible. The wrap around windows in the ballroom offer a gorgeous visual both during the day & at night. The food was excellent. Same for the bar & bar service. Overall, we couldn’t be happier that we chose Ocean Cliff for this very special event. Wish we could re-live the experience!

OceanCliff went above and beyond. I knew the minute we did our virtual tour with Amanda that this was THE venue and it exceeded our expectations. You cannot beat the view, the staff were so great to work with and responsive, and they were so organized to make sure everything went smoothly the day of. We had a magical day here and would 10/10 recommend getting married here. The hotel staff was also so accommodating the morning of when we were getting ready- truly was a great experience!

We cannot say enough good things about OceanCliff! We got married on 8/18/2023 and from the very start they were incredibly professional and easy to work with. Their entire team made us feel like we were their only priority, when we know they had a million other weddings to plan.Our main points of contact were Amanda and Jim, and they made the planning process SO easy and fun, and their communication was incredibly prompt (when I say prompt, I mean they typically responded in 24 hours or less). We also had Bri as our day-of coordinator and WOW was she efficient!! She made sure we barely lifted a finger on our big day and really ensured that everything went as smoothly as possible. Believe it or not, we had ZERO hiccups and I attribute that to the amazing OceanCliff Team!! To top it all off, you really can't get much of a better view and the food was AMAZING!!!Big thanks to the team at OceanCliff for truly making our wedding the day of our dreams :)

We truly loved our wedding day. OceanCliff is hands down the most beautiful venue in Newport from the stunning water views to the crisp, clean interior, everything was exactly what we wanted. The staff was also wonderful. I can't say enough great things about Amanda and Brianna! The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they are quite pricy, and we generally found the contract very confusing. That said, I think they are pretty comparable in price to the other high-end venues in the area. We will definitely be going back for anniversaries!

OceanCliff is a spectacular venue with the most captivating view in Newport. Unlike some other waterfront venues in Newport (and on Cape Cod), the OceanCliff ballroom is perfectly shaped with windows along the pinnacle to beckon all eyes to the bay. This venue offers the best of both worlds—an outdoor cocktail hour under the upper deck tent followed by an indoor reception in the ballroom with beautiful chandeliers, uninterrupted water views, and a stunning sunset. Treat your guests to the comfort of a climate-controlled ballroom with real bathrooms without compromising on the view—and with easy outdoor waterfront access throughout the reception. We much preferred this experience to a tented outdoor wedding, and we lucked out with gorgeous weather. Also, OceanCliff, built from 1894-1896, offers a more majestic setting and castle-like feel than other more recently built waterfront Newport or Cape Cod venues.Not only is OceanCliff a beautiful venue, but the OceanCliff team is fantastic and provides unparalleled service. We can’t thank them enough for making our day unforgettable!We truly appreciate all the time and effort the OceanCliff team devoted to our special event, from booking with Susanne (and her help with booking our church ceremony as well) to details with Kasey (and there were many details!) to guest room updates with Susan to the 'day of' with Taylor, who pulled off everything with apparent ease. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and offered great advice-- from hors d'oeuvre selections to where to locate the band for a more spacious dance floor with a headcount of 202 guests. In addition, we are very thankful to Juwana, our steward, who was so attentive and went above and beyond to take great care of us all evening. Every single team member, from servers to bartenders to those breaking down the tables at the end of the night, provided outstanding service with a smile. And did we forget to mention that the food was absolutely amazing? We heard great things from guests about the poached peach salad, all three entrees (filet mignon, halibut & vegetable Napoleon), and all the hors d'oeuvres, which were plentiful. The lamb chops and raw bar were an especially big hit, but everything was wonderful!We have received countless compliments from guests on the excellent service provided by the staff, the delicious culinary creations, the gorgeous set up of the upper deck tent and the ballroom with beautifully set tables, and the magnificence of the venue overall (again, what a view!). We were thrilled with everything on our wedding day and highly recommend OceanCliff!

Our honest review is a 4.5/5, but that is not an option on The Knot. We will start by saying our wedding day was perfect and everything we ever dreamed of. The venue is absolutely stunning and they did a great job bringing our vision to life. The first time we entered the ballroom, the bride and groom looked at each other and said, \"this is it\". There was never a question about whether we would get married there; we were obsessed! We have no regrets about choosing OceanCliff as our venue. However, there were a few bumps along the way in regards to communication that caused us some stress.The main miscommunication seemed to come from either being overpromised things at our original meeting, or underdelivered by our assigned Catering Manager. We got married in April, and made it clear from the first meeting that our priority was to get married outside, weather dependent. We were always told that would not be a problem, until 10 days before the event when we were told the outside season doesn't start until May, but they would do everything they could to prepare. After making some calls and talking with managers, it turned out that the plan for outside was always available, and no one should have told us that we couldn't do it outside. This caused unnecessary stress the week before the wedding. Also, at our first meeting, we talked about wanting a rectangular head table, and were told that wouldn't be a problem at all; then when we received our first estimate of charges, it turned out they were renting the table and we were responsible for paying for it, which had never been disclosed to us and was a surprise, as we were told they could provide that. They did work with us to decrease the price, but again, that was a miscommunication. We were also told that, if we had to have the ceremony inside, they had partitions to put up to cover the guest tables during the ceremony, but later we were told they didn't have enough and we would have to rent those (although they did help by giving us referrals about where we could rent from). These are minor inconveniences at most, but they did change our budget a bit, and we would have preferred that they were up front with us about these realities when we first met with them.There was a great amount of flexibility regarding the menu. We made some changes to the bar package, and all changes were met with enthusiasm!While the communication leading up to the event left something to be desired, the day of coordination was impeccable. Taylor was our day of contact, and she handled everything perfectly. The bride and her mother had a lot of very specific decor visions, and Taylor and her team set everything up perfectly! We were also assigned a \"captain\" from catering who was our personal waiter for the entire night, and she was extremely attentive and helpful. As people who just planned a wedding, we want to be honest, because it's not very helpful to just read reviews about everything being perfect. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone getting married, but we would suggest that you write down everything you are told at the first meeting so that when you meet with your catering manager a few months before the wedding, you can be sure everyone is on the same page, and there are no surprises. To reiterate, we loved our venue, and if we were planning all over again, we would still pick OceanCliff ten out of ten times!

A DREAM COME TRUE! OceanCliff did not disappoint from start to finish. From the second we signed our contract, up until we checked out of the hotel the day after our wedding, everyone we worked with was so responsive, helpful, efficient & amazing! Our wedding day ran so smoothly, everything was set up perfectly & the food was incredible, and we know a huge part of that is because of the amazing team at OC. We would recommend OceanCliff to anyone looking for a wedding venue! A special shout out to Amanda (Sales Manager), Alison (Catering Manager), Sara (Banquet Manager) and Stephen (Front Desk/Group Reservations), thank you for everything you guys did to make our wedding day go off without a hitch!

I don’t even know where to begin with how satisfied and impressed I was with choosing OceanCliff as my wedding venue. The venue is beautiful and has so much character both inside and outside. I wanted to find a venue where I was happy with having a ceremony inside or outside just in case the weather wasn’t on my side. OceanCliff is definitely that venue. I believe it’s one of the best views in all of Rhode Island from both in and outside. The coordinators that work with you up until the event are on point and amazing with communication!The morning of the wedding they set up the venue for you, so you don’t have to worry about hiring anyone to make sure all the decorations are in the right spot. They will make sure it all gets done for you the way you want! The food during my wedding was some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had. Multiple guests who were invited to my wedding have told me the same thing! The service was like absolutely AMAZING! I’ve never felt more taken care of and spoiled. They assign the bride and groom and their parents a “captain” the entire wedding and she/he makes sure you get fed and have a drink in your hand at all times! So the bride, groom and their parents never have to worry about waiting in a line! Everyone is just so nice that works there. I want to relive this day! It was PERFECT!

OceanCliff was the only venue we toured for our wedding because we immediately fell in love with the staff and location. Their winter wedding package was an incredible value and we highly recommend it for people who love the idea of a Newport wedding but don't want to break the bank. So many things came included in the package that prevented a lot of headaches along the way. Every staff member we worked with got back to us promptly and we never doubted that any and all issues would be handled with professionalism and care. The actual wedding day was so perfect and ran so smoothly that we kind of kept double-checking that everything was fine because it seemed too good to be true. You can't go wrong with this venue and this team.

We had our wedding in April 2022 at OceanCliff and could not have been happier! From the moment we toured OceanCliff we knew we had to look no further for our perfect wedding venue. The venue really speaks for itself with the incredible ocean views and the main mansion ballroom with the high ceilings/chandelier. We got lucky with the weather and were able to have our ceremony outside by the water, but the venue gives you easy indoor/outdoor options no matter the season.The staff at OceanCliff were easy to work with through the entire process and were always reliable and responsive. I would like to in particular recognize Amanda Saccoccio and Alison Davis who were helpful beyond words through the wedding planning process, providing guidance, patience, and flexibility through many e-mail threads and phone calls.Overall we could not have been happier with our wedding at OceanCliff. The views were incredible, the food was great, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our families stayed in the rooms at OceanCliff which made it feel like we had the entire mansion to ourselves! They are a well oiled machine, they checked in with each of our vendors individually before the wedding, and they have the foresight to be prepared for common wedding day problems that may arise. Would recommend OceanCliff as the perfect wedding venue to anyone!

Everyone was professional and extremely easy to work with. The setting probably the most beautiful in Newport. Our guests gave us positive feedback about the food and service. There is nothing that could have been done better.

We used Oceancliff for our November 2021 wedding and it was perfect. The venue was beautiful and the staff was even better! Everything went exactly to plan, and our guests loved their rooms. Our rehearsal dinner was held in the Safari Room, and everything went great. We easily made friends with our wait staff and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Kate was exceptional and a tremendous help. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Oceancliff is an absolute dream of a venue. The hotel staff, and wedding staff, restaurant staff and everyone who worked on site were amazing. They gave us so much confidence in their abilities that we knew no matter what happened, it would be a great wedding. It was a seamless \"one stop shop\" for us. We stayed in the rooms on-site, and had both our rehearsal dinner and \"after hours\" party at the Safari room. It was great! We had our wedding ceremony outside and it was sunny and beautiful. The grounds were stunning, everything from the grass to to flowers, which we were so happy to see, since we got married in April and weren't sure how the greenery would be. And the reception in the ballroom was spectacular. With the sun shining, I thought it couldn't get better, but then during dinner most beautiful sunset appeared and had everyone outside taking photos. Guests kept coming up and congratulating us for our \"fairytale\" wedding because it was truly a beautiful venue. Susanne, Jim, and Stephen helped us plan out every detail and were so thorough. Stephen was so reliable and there throughout our events to help with whatever we needed. Taylor helped with the ceremony rehearsal and made us feel calm and ready. Susan and Stephan were so helpful with all the room block questions. Ray was our captain and the best! Overall, we are thrilled with this venue.

I couldn’t be happier that we chose OceanCliff for our wedding venue! To say it was perfect would be an understatement. I’ve envisioned this day my entire life and it was beyond what I expected. First, the views are just gorgeous. When we met with Susan to see the place, I knew the second I got there that this would be it. The room, the hotel, the views - everything was magnificent. Susan, Alison, Emily and the entire staff made planning so easy! Any questions or concerns they were always there to answer! The day of the wedding went so smoothly!!! Everything was so perfect and the staff was unbelievablely helpful and catered to every need! Our guests are still saying that this was one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve ever been too - and I couldn’t agree more!! It was the best day of our lives!!!!

Even from our first contact with OceanCliff We knew this was the venue we were going to choose for our wedding. Before visiting OceanCliff, we got to talk to Susanne Day on the phone to talk about our expectations and what we imagined for our wedding. A minute into the conversation we loved her. She was SO nice, excited for us, genuine, full of information, and we really and truly felt like she was on our side and wanted whatever we wanted. When we got to OceanCliff, WOW. The venue speaks for itself. It is absolutely stunning. From the beautiful architecture on the outside, the waterfront and large arch in front, to the gorgeous detail inside. The large sweeping staircase, amazingly beautiful large gold mirrors—and that ballroom. Totally open to the ocean, it really feels like you are outside when you’re not. It took my breath away. Our first meeting with Susanne sold us. We knew that we were getting married at OceanCliff. Between Susanne and Alison recommending vendors for our day, helping us with every step of the wedding planning process, and always answering questions so promptly, planning a wedding felt easy, exciting, and fun. Stephen & all staff present the day of our wedding truly helped make our wedding a dream come true.

My Husband and I got married at OceanCliff on 1.29.22 (for the second time!) and it was everything we could have hoped for. We were originally scheduled to get married in Feb of 2021, but decided to postpone. We ended up still have a very small ceremony on the original date with just family. OceanCliff was so kind to allow this and made it a wonderful experience. Fast forward to our postponed wedding in January. It ended up being on the day of a blizzard! With the stress of having to postpone our original date, then the spike of the omicron variant and THEN a blizzard scheduled for our big day, its safe to say we were stressed. OceanCliff didn't miss a beat. They are seriously the best in the business. I have no idea how they pulled it off, but it was flawless. The entire staff was amazing. Steven was excellent to work with the weekend of the wedding. Alison was the best throughout the whole planning experience and such a helpful resource. The food was phenomenal. The staff handled the change of plans (due to the blizzard) with ease and professionalism. They coordinated with our vendors to make it all possible and did their best to ensure as many vendors could make it as possible, even letting some come days earlier to set up equipment and decor. We can't thank everyone at OceanCliff enough. I truly don't think our wedding would have happened at any other venue given all the obstacles thrown our way. We are SO appreciative and will be back! If you're looking for the best in Newport, these guys are it! THANK YOU OCEANCLIFF!!

We got married here on 1/8/22 and had the best wedding weekend ever at OceanCliff- I want to go back and relive it all again! We postponed our 2021 wedding due to COVID and OceanCliff was understanding and so flexible. On our postponed weekend there was a snow storm and a Covid surge, so we had lots of guest cancellations. OceanCliff (Jim specifically) was SO accommodating, quick to answer emails and made us feel at ease. The staff at OceanCliff made us feel so special and we truly felt spoiled the day of our wedding. I couldn’t recommend this venue more!

We got married at OceanCliff on 12/31/2021 and could not have enough wonderful things to say about the entire team! We spent almost two years working with the OceanCliff team, not due to Covid just due to us wanting to get married on New Years Eve, and every person that we met along the way was phenomenal in helping us achieve exactly what we wanted for the wedding. Covid made the planning process difficult, but OceanCliff was always willing to help in anyway they could to make things easier on us. They were even willing to modify details last minute when Omicron caused everything to go crazy two weeks before our wedding. Elsa, Jim, Devon and Taylor were all absolutely great to work with and made our wedding weekend run perfectly. Jim clearly has a lot of experience with weddings and knows exactly what to do to bring your vision to life. I had a lot of special requests and Jim worked to execute each one without ever making me feel like a burden. Devon and Taylor were especially wonderful the day of the wedding and made my husband and I feel like royalty. We never even had to leave a conversation with our guests to get food or drinks, they brought us whatever we needed. They both honestly felt more like friends by the end of the night. Another special shout out to Stephen who we worked with for the hotel rooms, he is incredible! We had rented out the entire property, including all hotel rooms (which I HIGHLY recommend, make you feel like you're at home) and Stephen was instrumental in making us and our guests feel welcome. He was always quick to answer any question and didn't even make me feel bad about the +50 email chain thread we had by the wedding weekend! Overall, OceanCliff was the perfect choice! Not only for their beautiful property, ballroom and views, but also for how much they were willing to work with us to have the best wedding possible within our constraints. I was incredibly stressed out when covid started going crazy again right before the wedding, but the team at OceanCliff was phenomenal with figuring out how to make it all work for us. We will forever be thankful for the best New Years Eve wedding!

We were so pleased with every aspect of our wedding at OceanCliff. Susanne Day, Alison Davis, and Stephen were wonderful to work with - they helped us through every phase of planning (including re-booking everything due to COVID) and really delivered on the day of the wedding. The indoor space looked beautiful for a December wedding, the food was great, and the Safari Room made for a fun after-party location. Overall, we had an excellent experience with OceanCliff!

I was coordinating with Amanda. Amanda is very fun and easy to talk to. She welcomed my family and made us feel right at home while we toured OceanCliff (and gave us the BEST champagne!) She is so easy to coordinate with, responsive, informative, and we had such a good time getting to know her. We ultimately decided to choose another venue, but I had such a good experience coordinating with and getting to know her that I had to leave a review! She was so great to work with in fact that we went back to her months later to inquire about rehearsal venues.

My guests can't stop talking about what an incredible time they had. If you are considering a wedding in Newport - OceanCliff is the way to go!!!

My husband and I got married at OceanCliff on 10/22/21 and I can't say enough good things about the venue and staff!Amanda was such an awesome coordinator to work with - she had amazing suggestions for vendors (we are from CT) and was prompt in her replies, which made the stress of planning minimal! She was also so pleasant and funny, even our tour was fun!Working with Jim and Liz to plan the menu was easy as well. They know their stuff! Every detail was perfect and the food/drinks were amazing. Everyone loved the food and the wedding was just perfect!The grounds speak for themselves. It is a beautiful venue with both the elegance of the ballroom and the backdrop of the ocean. It was literally exactly what we wanted for a stateside wedding!I would recommend OceanCliff again and again!!

OCEANCLIFF is truly magical and the best place to tie the knot, not just for the beautiful views but the amazing staff! Before I continue with this review please know that our wedding was scheduled on March 20, 2020, the Friday that that the country went into shutdown. As a bride and being saddened that our wedding was rescheduled, oceancliff never skipped a beat. Susanne, Alison, and their amazing team really went above and beyond to accommodate us throughout those uncertain times. Leading up to the big day they took the stress off our shoulders so that we could enjoy it and on the day of continuously checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Their attention to detail is impeccable! They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was as special and stress free as possible during this crazy pandemic and if that isn’t enough of a testament to what they can do given the circumstance then I don’t know what is. Oceancliff is the whole package and I couldn’t recommend this beautiful venue enough!

Our wedding reception at OceanCliff was spectacular due to all the preparation and help from Alison Davis and our day of coordinator, Taylor! Alison is extremely detail oriented, thorough, a great communicator, and knowledgeable about the industry and best practices. Taylor did a phenomenal job making sure everything was set up correctly and ran according to plan. We appreciated meeting Taylor days before our wedding and running through our schedule. The OceanCliff front desk staff was also super helpful and accommodating with our check-in, room set up, and answering all our requests. OceanCliff is the perfect venue for a summer/fall wedding and we loved having our cocktail hour outside and reception inside. The grounds are well maintained and made for great backgrounds for our photos. It was also convenient having our guest rooms upstairs, but Room #1 did feel a bit cramped for getting ready (12 people). Make sure to ask for chairs/tables for your room if you're having your hair/makeup done there. Like most weddings I attend, I wish there were two bars -- both our cocktail hour and reception had a line at the bar at all times. Lastly, the guest rooms could use some upgrading. It would've been nice to have a mini fridge and our beds were very uncomfortable/squeaky. I would give 5 stars, but unfortunately when rescheduling our wedding from 2020 due to COVID-19, other OceanCliff staff did not respond to emails or phone calls and were not very accommodating with rescheduling. We appreciate Amanda S. for swooping in and assisting. It seems as though this was a one off situation, but did cause some strife. Thank you to the entire OceanCliff staff -- we appreciate you all so much and you made our day truly unforgettable.

We were so thrilled with the wedding we hosted for our daughter and son-in-law at OceanCliff. We dreamed of having her wedding at OC because of the location and the spectacular view. We did not know how happy we would be with the support and services of the entire OC staff. They all went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend go smoothly. They guided us through the planning and details required to host our special day in a way that would make guests feel comfortable, enjoy the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing and end with a breakfast and send off for guests and our family. The staff were with us from beginning to end with professionalism and courtesy that left the bride, groom and our families thrilled with our decision to trust the OC staff with one of the most important milestones in our lives! Many thanks to OC for hosting a wedding full of memories our entire family will treasure!

My husband and I got married at Oceancliff on 2/20/21. After all the stress and back and forth due to the ever changing Covid-19 restrictions at the time, we are so happy we stuck with our wedding day as planned. Amanda and Alison stuck with us through the trails, tribulations, and many, many tears caused by the pandemic--navigating a situation that was completely new to them as well--to make sure our wedding day was perfect in every way. We ended up with 30 immediate family members (from our original guest list of 130) for the most intimate and beautiful celebration we could have ask for. Though we took all the steps necessary to make sure our guests were safe, our day felt completely normal. We did not miss out on anything. A huge thank you to everyone at Oceancliff who made our day so special including the waiters (Stephen), bartenders, day-of-coordinators (Crystal) and of course Amanda and Alison. Don't sleep on this beautiful venue and their wonderful staff. And PLEASE consider a winter wedding--it was quite literally a snowy fairytale.

We had the most wonderful wedding at OceanCliff on 8/14/21. Similar to many other couples, we had originally planned for a summer 2020 that was derailed due to the COVID pandemic. Throughout the months of uncertainty in 2020, OceanCliff was very responsive and accommodating. When we ultimately decided to postpone, Amanda offered us the same Saturday date in 2021. I have many bride friends who had really terrible times with their wedding venues, so I feel lucky that OceanCliff was so graceful throughout the process. When it came to planning the actual wedding day, Jim was great. It is clear that he has many years of experience and was a wonderful resource. He spent hours with us finalizing every detail and his input was invaluable. On the actual wedding day, everything went smoothly and it truly was a perfect day with no issues whatsoever. The venue has stunning views and the food was amazing. Many of my guests commented that it is the best wedding that they have ever been to and will likely ever go to. I cannot recommend OceanCliff enough. They are truly professionals who have the wedding planning process perfected. Thank you Amanda, Jim, Liz, Krystal, Alicia, Dom and all of the OceanCliff staff for a perfect wedding day!

OceanCliff is the biggest regret of my wedding. They’re a factory that churn out up to 5 events a weekend. Which would be fine if they still delivered personalized attention to each bride, but sadly they fell way short. TLDR – take caution! If you do work with OC be VERY CAREFUL about what is in your contract – especially regarding venue access, and when other events planned the same day must be off the premise (they had another wedding that ended 15 mins before our guests arrived – it was an absolute disaster.)Here’s the longer story (see WeddingWire for full story):•\tThey ignored emails and were unresponsive to our questions for months•\tWe scheduled an afterparty in the Safari Room with full bar + snacks. 3 wks before, they told us it was no longer possible because of staffing and tried to cancel. We worked with them to have a 45 min. after party with wine + beer only and takeout pizza –but it was still not what we originally signed up for (2 hr full bar with catered apps)•\t2 wks before, we found out they had another wedding before ours which ended at 5. Our ceremony started at 5:45. We knew they sometimes do 2 weddings, but this was unreasonably close - 15 MINUTES TURNAROUND BETWEEN THE TWO WEDDINGS (as guests arrive 30 min early). OC admitted this scheduling was a mistake, but assured us it would be seamless. This couldn’t have been farther from the truth. It severely impacted the wedding:o\tThe prior wedding didn’t vacate till 5:30 (even though their event ended at 5), and the bridal party and guests saw the other wedding end. Our trolley was blocked from entering the main entrance because the other wedding was still there. OC asked if I would be ok to get off the bus farther down the driveway and walk to the front (even though I was wearing my wedding dress, veil and had contracted the venue for this time)o\tThe ceremony was delayed by 30 min, because OC delayed our vendors from accessing the venue for set up by 45 mins. Vendor access was promised in writing by 4, but our vendors were not allowed access until 4:45. As a result the ceremony was delayed by 30 min. which caused our guests to stand around and wait (w/champagne), and cut into reception, as they did not extend the time on the back end.o\tThere was NO RAIN PLAN. We reserved the Upper Deck for cocktails and ballroom for ceremony. But because the prior wedding ended at 5, it was impossible to have our ceremony in the same space only 15 min later. OC never realized this, I figured it out and raised the issue to them. They were unable to propose a viable Plan B and instead just hoped there wouldn’t be rain. Unfortunately there was rain and we were stuck having the ceremony outside with umbrellas.o\tHead table and ceremony décor was missing or incompleteo\tMultiple guests complained their food was cleared before they were finishedo\tThe after party was not ready by the agreed upon timeo\tVendor meals were disorganized and served in clear sight of guestso\tNo clear point person for day of; banquet staff was overworked, not clear on event details, and struggled to explain just who was in chargeOC has nice views, but customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen. They were hit hard during Covid and are still trying to extort as much as possible from their weddings. They do not care about individual brides or making your day special. If I could redo, I would pick a different venue. Please learn from my lesson and steer clear.

I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and team! We had such an amazing experience. Susanne was so helpful in painting the vision of our day and getting us setup, and Alison and the whole banquet team were the most organized group of people I've ever worked with! They were always happy to answer a question, or jump on a call... even through all the covid planning chaos. Our day was more than we could ever hoped for! If you want a premium Newport wedding experience, don't look further!

Unfortunately, we were stuck in a bind when another vendor nearby had dropped our wedding arrangements at the very last minute.(Literally 2 weeks before) Our friends recommended that we reached out to Ocean Cliff and we did so by leaving a message. Susanne called us back and saved our wedding! She and her staff took charge and made our day the happiest and most memorable one. They were prompt, courteous, professional, and own to earth. Due to covid protocols, they seated our guests comfortably and the facility was SPOTLESS. They took care of our guest's needs as if they were in our own home. From the moment we walked into OceanCliff to view the venue for the first time, we were welcomed with open arms and already felt like a part of the family. The staff are flawless in their execution of providing couples with information and support for planning their wedding day. Our sales manager, wedding consultant, and day of staff were out of this world. Every step of the way was well organized and handled professionally. This venue is elegant, beautiful, and has the most gorgeous views in Newport. OceanCliff holds a special place in our hearts and we could not have made a better choice for where we would start our married lives together!

Jim and the staff at Ocean Cliff were very responsive and communicated with us frequently throughout the pandemic to ensure not only our guest safety, but that we still would have the wedding of our dreams. They provided plenty of options to make the wedding fit into multiple types of budgets. We had our cocktail hour out on the patio and reception in the ballroom. Our friends and family still cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue was. It was our dream wedding made possible by the staff at Ocean Cliff. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone in the area!

OceanCliff is the most amazing wedding venue!! I recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at OceanCliff - not enough words to describe how wonderful they are. Not only is the oceanfront setting and grand ballroom absolutely stunning, their team was a true pleasure to work with (especially Susanne and Jim!). We had originally planned to get married in May of 2020, but due to the unprecedented COVID restrictions, we made the decision to postpone our wedding. The team at OceanCliff accommodated multiple postponement dates, and were so responsive and professional through our 2+ years of planning. We were finally able to have the wedding we dreamed of last weekend, just days after the state finally removed the COVID restrictions!! It was the most beautiful day and many of our guests commented it was the best wedding they've ever been to :) THANK YOU so much OceanCliff!! Can't wait to visit on our anniversaries :)

Ocean cliff staff are absolutely terrible. I would highly recommend against this venue. The pictures on the website and the videos look nothing like the actual venue and the staff are terrible to work with. Once they get you to sign a contract don't expect anything from them. We signed our contract about a year and a half ahead of our wedding date and shortly after signing the contract had to move our venue due to multiple personal reasons. The venue was incredibly non-accomodating and refused to work with us at all to come to some middle ground on reimbursing our deposit. All of the other vendors we had signed contracts with and put deposits down for came to some compromise with us on reimbursement but not OceanCliff.HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS VENUE!! It's drab and old and far from everything that's great about Newport. If you want to get married in an old sh***y looking castle then go for it but if you want a great wedding experience I would highly recommend against choosing Oceancliff.

Our day was amazing! The team at Oceancliff was perfect. Galen, Alison and Suzanne were absolutely amazing for planning. Alison helped us through plans A, B, C, D, and Suzanne was always available and willing to answer any COVID questions. Day of, Krystal and Stephen were great. Everything went amazingly, and issues, if there were any, were taken care of immediately. Thank you OceanCliff for a totally awesome wedding!

I echo the comment about Susanne Day and her team. Our daughter's wedding was in 2019 and everything was absolutely wonderful. Beyond the venue and it's view, the entire staff was professional and very helpful. The food was amazing. We did the mashed potato bar, appetizers, bar service and the main dinner course was awesome!! We had 220 family and friends. For us, the day is still forefront in our memories because of it being at Oceancliff. We stayed on property, relaxed in the morning and had fun taking sneak peeks of everyone setting up. It was a perfect family wedding weekend. Thank you, Oceancliff. All the best to you!! Janet & David

I was very unimpressed with the staff at OceanCliff. I went for an initial tour as this one of our top venue choices and was immediately turned off by the unprofessionalism and general rudeness of everyone we encountered. The woman we were scheduled to meet with, Galen, never sent a confirmation email with directions on where to park, enter, etc like all of our other venues. I know, not the biggest deal, but one of the first things she said to us upon our arrival was some snotty comment about where we parked, which was in the main parking lot with all the other cars. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but the rudeness continued. She went on to talk down to one of her coworkers who kindly offered us champagne and they were bickering back and forth right in front of us over who was the worst to work with. This made me feel very uncomfortable and not want to work with either of them.Before discussing anything in regards to what we were looking for or our budget, she tried convincing us to get married on a Sunday because it's half the price. All she could tell us about OceanCliff was that it is a \"well oiled machine\" without giving any examples or providing any details. We had to ask her to give us a tour of the facility and every question we asked she would laugh and give a condescending answer like our questions were stupid. The tour lasted about 7 minutes and she handed us off to anther coworker to show us the rooms upstairs. I do not recall his name, but he complained the entire time about the lack of help he had and the lack of reservations. I know that the pandemic has caused for some trying times but I feel it is very unprofessional to discuss this with potential guests. This also made me wonder if OceanCliff will even be open next summer for a wedding?As we were leaving, Galen was already sitting with another couple and waved goodbye. I guess the tour was over and we were not able to ask any further questions. I have yet to hear from anyone at OceanCliff, Galen never sent a follow up proposal as discussed. As beautiful as the venue is, I would not recommend having a wedding at OceanCliff.

From the minute my fiancé and I walked into Oceancliff in the summer of 2019, after meeting with Amanda, we knew we couldn't get married anywhere else. We were supposed to get married in May 2020, and were devastated as getting married in Newport, and specifically at Oceancliff was a dream come true for us. Prior to the pandemic, the planning process was as seamless and enjoyable as they come. I was always waiting to feel the wedding planning stress - but never felt it because of the incredible team that Oceancliff has (mind you - I am an event planner myself so this holds a lot of weight!). I live in CT and planned almost everything with only one trip to the venue in early 2020. When COVID hit, through tears on the phone we talked to Amanda and Liz and they could NOT have been more accommodating. Every option was on the table for us. We have many friends who had to move their wedding, and none had the experience like we had. For us, it was \"Oceancliff or bust\". We decided to move our wedding to May 2021 - and we are so glad we did, and are feeling really excited to have our dream wedding there next year. There is no where else we would want to celebrate with our friends and family, and are beyond grateful for how we have been treated this past year. Even if I have OCD questions via phone or email - Amanda always answers right away, and calms my nerves and make me feel like it will al work out. Everyone we have interacted with is kind and thoughtful - cannot recommend enough!!

Beware! Ocean Cliff is ripping off couples during the pandemic and they will not hesitate to take your money and run as well. They are not responding to requests for reimbursements. The owner does not care and they hide under their lawyers who are taking advantage of an awful situation when it is suppose to be a beautiful experience. They canceled our wedding due to COVID and refused to refund the money. Sad because my daughter is an ER nurse and her fiance is a firefighter - both on the front line fighting this terrible virus 12-16 hours per day. They are both struggling with this. There are many other honest venues in Newport with the same view.

While we didn’t end up booking OceanCliff for our wedding (purely because of vibe reasons, we decided a mansion wasn’t for us) I want everyone to know just how lovely they were to communicate with. Amanda always responded to my emails right away, even when I had tons of questions. She is absolutely lovely and her tour of OceanCliff was by far the most fun tour we had due to her sense of humor. Touring venues during covid can be nerve wracking, but Amanda always made us feel safe, leaving space and always wearing a mask. You’d be amazed how many places didn’t do that. Although our wedding won’t be there, my fiancé and I agreed the view for the ceremony is the most gorgeous one out there. Any bride and groom would be lucky to be married there!

This review is for Jim Maher, Galen Cobb, and the rest of the Newport Experience/OceanCliff team who helped make our wedding absolutely perfect!We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Stone House in Little Compton, RI which is a Newport Experience property.Before we decided on our venue, we first met with Galen Cobb to discuss our options. We are from out of state, so it was very important to us to be able to pack everything into this visit. We had first considered Regatta Place, but due to our smaller guest count (<50 people at the time) Galen recommended Stone House. Galen then helped us put together the perfect menu, assemble a team of rockstar vendors, and brought it all together on the day! Leading up to our wedding day, we met with Jim Maher in person at OceanCliff to review the details. My husband and I consider ourselves to be very organized people, but Jim is truly NEXT LEVEL! Every single aspect of our wedding weekend was discussed and decided on and we left that meeting feeling like we could breath easily because Jim and team had everything under control. Since our tasting was cancelled due to COVID, Jim allowed us to taste the main courses during our meeting at OceanCliff. Rich brought us the meals and offered us a variety of wines to taste which we added to our reception. Rich’s input was so helpful! We truly felt like VIPs during that visit and it was a huge highlight of our planning process.Krystal Hastings was our banquet manager and helped get everything in place leading up the wedding and executed it flawlessly on the day.We also wanted to note that we had to push our wedding back four months due to COVID, and everyone was incredibly flexible and accommodating! The pricing was very fair for the high level of quality that was provided every step of the way. The food was absolutely AMAZING and every detail was perfection. We highly recommend Jim, Galen, and the entire Newport Experience/OceanCliff team for your wedding!

OceanCliff exceeded our expectations and beyond. My wife and I had to reschedule our regular planned indoor wedding in Boston for a mini wedding at OceanCliff. From beginning to end the staff was a pleasure to work worth. Amanda walked us through everything and got us set up with space we wanted and Jim helped us every step of the way from there making sure he met every request we asked. From setting up a unity wine ceremony, organizing the reception tables, LED candles, signature cocktails, every little detail you can think of was addressed beyond measure. We also opted for the private sail charter the night before as our rehearsal dinner and everyone had a fantastic time. On the day of the wedding Krystal and her staff were the most polite and professional staff I’ve ever seen work a wedding. (I used to be a caterer and I assure you they go above and beyond.) They sought out my wife and I wherever we were to make sure we had drinks and apps and just to check in on us. Even til the very end they made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the night beyond hours as the staff was leaving. They handled and organized everything flawlessly. The food, the view, the decor and the grounds were all perfect. All our guests truly enjoyed the wedding. While our original large wedding didn’t work out, we were more than pleased with our OceanCliff wedding!

After switching our wedding for the third time due to covid, everyone at ocean cliff was accommodating and worked with us to plan the most amazing day in a months time. We are so grateful for the entire staff, and especially Krystal, who was there to support us throughout the entire weekend. We were set to be married on July 25, 2020. While Covid-19 has different plans for us, I am confident in the venue that we selected and the character that stands behind it. Beyond the breathtaking view that sold us on the place, we have been graced by such an incredibly professional and personable staff. We had our tasting the weekend before the country shutdown. Oceancliff was safe and flexible adapting to the situation at a moments notice. We felt so comfortable and excited by the family style and socially distanced experience they created on short notice. As the months dragged on and we realized the reality of having our 250 person wedding in July 2020 would no longer be feasible, the entire staff was incredibly understanding and supportive with assisting us in creating a postponement plan. I appreciate their honesty and transparency with logistics of postponing a wedding in a time when life was very uncertain for everyone. While our wedding has been postponed for now, we have visited OC and the safari room restaurant on several occasions this summer. The staff makes us feel special every time we go there and one of the things that makes me most excited about our postponement plan is that we know all of the staff that are working so hard to make sure our big day will be safe and special!

This place is fantastic. So good that I, as a groom, felt compelled to write a review. First, they moved our wedding with zero problem. They were proactive and did everything in their power to make us whole. Second, they offered us tons of options. Get married on our planned date, get married later in 2020, or get married in 2021. All totally flexible at zero incremental cost. This place was totally flexible and I can’t wait to get married there. If you have questions let me know. I would trust a groom who felt compelled to review because of the seamless process over a bridezilla dropping her instagram handle.

Just heard a harrowing tale how a close family member had to fully cancel her wedding this year out of concern for the pandemic - she was told by venue staff she was *NOT* allowed to postpone it AND they have kept all their deposits with no word if they will ever give them back! We are in unprecedented times, one would think a business as prestigious and successful as OceanCliff would bite the bullet and a) allow couples to rebook for next year or b) return deposits. You're a hotel/resort, correct? Practice what you preach and be accommodating.Anyone considering this place for their ceremony and/or reception, heed this warning. Clearly, as some of the other reviews on Facebook and on WeddingWire dictate, she and her significant other are not the only ones who are losing thousands of dollars to this venue. I hope the local news stations get a hold of these stories and expose you for what you really are - greedy and petty.

This is a beautiful venue but I would avoid it if you're planning your wedding in the next year or two. During the pandemic, they told us that they would not be offering us a back up date, as long as they could legally host a wedding. We have a lot of international and domestic guests who would not be able to attend because of travel restrictions. It is unethical to not offer flexibility to clients in the middle of a pandemic

We had our wedding there in March 2020 and filled all the rooms onsite. Everyone was happy with the accommodations. The event staff (shout out to Susanne, Kimberly, Krystal and Stephen) were phenomenal. They were all so quick to respond to any questions or requests I had throughout the entire planning process and on the big day. The hotel venue is gorgeous - we have our amazing pictures (by local photographer Beth Ludwig) to prove it!! The entire experience was so enjoyable and magical; it was as if we owned a castle for the weekend. I highly recommend this venue; I couldn't imagine a more perfect place. Huge thank you to Susanne, Kimberly, Krystal, and Stephen!!!! They were all so helpful, personable, organized, professional, and hard working - a true wedding planning power team!!

First of all this venue is STUNNING. You cannot get better views in Newport. Second, they really make you feel special. From planning every detail, to bustling your dress, to packing up your car at the end of the night, they are super accommodating. Their menu and bar options offer a variety of price points and allow you to really customize your experience. One challenge is that the hotel management and the wedding venue are two separate teams so you need to work with two different contacts for planning that aspect. Otherwise, they really make you feel at home and make not only your wedding perfect, but your entire stay/weekend both exciting and relaxing.

I cannot fully express how thrilled we are that we chose OceanCliff as our wedding venue. It was important to me that we were near the water for our wedding, as the ocean has always been an important symbol in my life. Even with a rainy day, the view was phenomenal. As the ceremony progressed, the clouds broke apart, and the wildest sunset colors spread across the sky. I would pick this venue all over again just for its view. However, there are other reasons to choose it too. The staff know what they're doing. They are kind, experienced, and prompt with communication. I couldn't be happier with the support I received - from the sales manager to the banquet managers who were there on the day. They all helped to make planning streamlined. On the day, each person I encountered was ready and eager to make sure my wishes, questions, and concerns were addressed. I couldn't be more grateful and can't recommend this venue enough!

My wife and I got married at Ocean Cliff on a Friday in late September and it was absolutely beautiful! All of our guests were complementing the venue and its beauty from the start of the reception until the end. Allison was our catering coordinator leading up to the wedding and she was fantastic. We asked a lot of questions and she was always very quick to respond and accommodate anything special or different we wanted to do. Erin was our banquet manager and she was as well excellent! We met with her the week of the wedding to go through everything, even the week of we had last minute changes and she took care of everything and also helped coordinate with our vendors. The day of the wedding she was there for everything, even when we needed to come to Ocean Cliff to take pictures because it became too windy at Brenton Point. The venue itself was spectacular! We had a beautiful day and were able to host our cocktail hour outside, it was incredible, people couldn't stop talking about how pretty it was, not to mention the sunset pictures! They also have the guests go around the property versus walking through the reception room so the first time they see it is when they go in for dinner, it was a beautiful entrance. The layout of the space is excellent as well. The rooms outside the main reception room are perfect for the bar and the photo booth we had. All in all, we cannot say enough about Ocean Cliff, it is the most beautiful wedding venue in Newport and the staff and everyone you work with is amazing!

Man-o-man what a venue. There are to many good things to say. First of all, the team was amazing and made each step of the planning process a breeze, handling every question and hiccup in stride, the OC team was overly accommodating, incredibly knowledgeable and graciously helpful in the planning and execution of our wedding. The Venue itself is amazing, we spent 3 days there (checked in Wednesday for a Friday wedding) and had our whole wedding party on site. The guest rooms (especially the gate house) are amazing, the ceremony and cocktail sites are gorgeous and the ball room rocks. We felt so at home here especially when the banquet team joined the party. The last but most important point is how amazing the team helps at execution. For us, who wanted to plan the whole wedding by ourselves and listened to no-one the Banquet team and our day of coordinator helped us turn our pencil sketch of a wedding plan into a Monet. The team really does hold your hand the whole way and is even more dedicated to the success of your big day than you are... I know that may sound crazy, but it is true.

I cannot say enough great things about our wedding venue. My husband and I got married here in August of 2017. The location is absolutely breathtaking and the service they provide is topnotch! We had a pre- bridal lunch on the upper deck, ceremony outside, wedding reception in the ballroom and an after party on the Safari Room terrace! Our guests are still raving about our venue over a year after our wedding! Planning a wedding when living out of town is stressful, but OceanCliff went above and beyond make sure everything ran smoothly.

We started looking at venues right after getting engaged and about a year and a half before our actual wedding date 9-15-18. This was the first venue we saw and absolutely fell in love. The views and ballroom are breathtaking. I Although it is a little pricey to get married here especially because we were set on having a Saturday evening wedding in September, the price is definitely worth it. The planning is seamless and all of the workers there are so professional and accommodating. My husband is very picky about food and they were able to change the stuffing of the chicken dish to accommodate him and our guests, with filet mignon as our other option. I have a nut allergy and they were able to make our wedding nut free which was amazing. The week before and day of Sara was amazing! She gave me her cell phone number and I was able to text or call her with any questions or concerns and I would have a response within seconds. We had our own personal waitress during cocktail hour and they were able to bring out our food hot as soon as we sat down from making our rounds at our guest tables. Honestly there was nothing that went wrong on our day and they made it so we could enjoy everything completely without any worries. Many of our friends and family have said it was the nicest and most enjoyable wedding they have ever been to and we definitely agree. Thank you Oceancliff for making our wedding PERFECT!!!!

Thank you OceanCliff for the absolute most wonderful day of our lives to date. Everything went so smoothly, and everyone was so kind and helpful. I can't thank you all enough. We honestly had the most beautiful wedding imaginable, and beyond our dreams. Daniel and I flew in from Sweden the week before the wedding and had no contact with OceanCliff aside from e-mails confirming guest lists, meal selections, and payments. So we certainly did not expect undivided attention and a completely flawless wedding, which is exactly what we got when the day came to fruition. Everyone of the members of staff are responsible for a brilliant execution and going above and beyond expectations. I am so grateful to Ashley Botelho, who really went out with a bang! I realize we were her last wedding and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavers. From the minute we walked in (a year and a half before our wedding date) we fell in love, and booked it immediately. The weekend of the wedding was absolutely seamless, from the rehearsal dinner At The Deck to the reception the following evening. Our wedding at Ocean Cliff was absolutely amazing! We fell in love with the venue the first time we saw it, we didn't even look anywhere else. My husband and I got married there in March of 2018 and were able to rent the whole estate out for the full weekend since it was during the off season. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and after party there. We did several different stations for dinner at our reception and all of the food was fantastic! Everything was beautiful and the staff was amazing. Special thanks to Suzanne for helping us book our amazing weekend, Amy for answering all of my never ending questions throughout the process, Brianna for taking care of everything we needed the day of and keeping us stress free and Demetri for making sure I was never without a drink or lobster roll in hand.

My husband and I got married here in February and absolutely loved our experience! Given that we were having an \"off-season\" wedding we were slightly concerned about the quality we would receive but Amy, Sarah and the staff completely proved us wrong! From the very beginning we were blown away by their level of professionalism and their willingness to help. The entire staff was attentive and ready to help out in any way needed and it really showed throughout the night. The night of the wedding our transportation arrived much earlier than expected and the bartenders and Sarah remained calm and handled the situation with class and eloquence. They turned what could have been a big problem into non-issue. The entire night Sarah ensured that my husband and I were happy and she truly seemed to care about our experience.My husband is a former bartender and had questions regarding the quality of a flat rate open bar. Looking back our guests have all told us that the drinks were generous and they bartenders were friendly and accommodating.Our guest continue to tell us how much fun they had and how wonderful the views, food, appetizers and experience were. From start to finish we were taken care of and I can't say enough good things about the place! I didn't even mention the amazing sunset that we had over the water, but that just goes to show how amazing everything else at OceanCliff was!

My husband and I got married on March 17th 2018 at Oceancliff hotel & resorts. It was magical and the staff was very accommodating. We chose to book our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception all at Oceancliff. We rented off of the first floor of rooms for our wedding party. We didn't leave the hotel all weekend. Everything was executed perfectly and the food was amazing. The view was something to dream about. We were so pleased with our experience we will be booking future events at Oceancliff. If you want a wedding that everyone is going to talk about for years as the best venue they been too. Then you should book at Oceancliff.

OceanCliff was simply amazing. We did both our ceremony and reception in the ballroom on one of the COLDEST nights of the year and still they delivered! Amy, Casey, and the rest of the amazing staff were professional, organized, and had great attention to detail. They were able to work beautifully around my numerous allergies and create a strong food selection that all the guests raved about. Not to mention the view in the main room is absolutely breathtaking--summer or winter, it delivers. From the rehearsal, to the wedding, to the brunch, OceanCliff was perfect. Look no further!

Oceancliff is truly the perfect wedding venue. My wife and I chose it because of the beautiful location but, in every aspect of the wedding planning process, Oceancliff exceeded our expectations. Of course, the wedding was beautiful (even though there was heavy rain on our wedding day) the food was superb and the service was impeccable. However, the real strength of this venue is that they assist you at every stage of the wedding planning pr5ocess and they make the planning process both manageable and actually a lot of fun. I cannot recommend Oceancliff enough, there really is no other choice for a Newport wedding!

From the moment you book with OceanCliff to day of your event, the staff is taking care of your every question/need. The staff is extremely professional, experienced, and attentive. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. You don't have to over dress your tables or worry too much about décor because the ballroom is exquisite. We decided to take our family/wedding party/bride & groom photos on location because of the beautiful architecture and scenery. We were lucky enough to have great weather for late October 2017 and hosted our cocktail hour outside on the patio. They provided propane heaters and a fire pit to keep everyone warm. The sunset at the end of our cocktail hour was perfect! We were able to add a second bar at our cocktail hour to accommodate all our guests and eliminate a long line/wait time. The food was delicious and they have a lot of options. I have a gluten allergy and many of my family members and friends also have allergies but the chef had us make special note to the guests who needed their meals prepared separately. On the day of our event, we worked specifically with Gail (our captain!) who personally took care of our parents and our wedding party, in addition to my husband and I, with regards to drinks and hors d'oeuvres. As your drink was getting low, she was right there with a new refreshment ready to go. We also worked with Casey, our banquet manager, and he made sure our entire night ran smoothly and perfectly. Casey orchestrated the timing of salads with the start of our speeches and the right moment to cut our cake. He took care of our entire event with the level of care and attention to detail that you would your own family. I recommend meeting with a sales manager and booking ASAP!

We were supposed to have our wedding at the Stonehouse in Little Compton, which was owned by The Newport Experience at the time. When the venue was shut down by the local court 8 weeks before my wedding I was obviously upset, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Amanda, who we worked with from the Newport Experience, was nothing short of AMAZING! Despite the numerous couples she was helping to last minute re-plan their weddings, she always was very responsive, very helpful, and made the entire process as painless as she could. We ended up having our rehearsal dinner at the OceanCliff Hotel on the deck. It was absolutely beautiful! We had a picturesque sunset, great food, and great ambience. Then we found the Eisenhower house to have the ceremony and reception at the next day and I honestly could not have dreamed of a more perfect wedding! Again, Amanda was there to help us with all the details, seamlessly moving the tent and all the things we were going to have at the Stonehouse right over to the Eisenhower house! She was on top of every detail and made me feel not only at ease, but excited for our special day. Jordan, who also helped out the day of, was fantastic and was all over the little details which helped me to enjoy the day. All of our guests commented how wonderful and attentive the staff was- from servers, to bartenders, to the behind the scenes planners- everything went off without a hitch and I didn't have to worry about things! I would recommend any of the Newport Experience locations. Because they are a wedding company who has handled so many weddings, they know all the little details and all the things you may not think about. Considering we had an unusually stressful situation, having to re-plan a wedding in 8 weeks, and it all worked out so beautifully thanks to Amanda and her team- I can't imagine what they can pull off when they aren't under the pressure of dealing with a closed venue that was supposed to hold 16 more weddings that season! Quite honestly, I feel so lucky to have had so many hard-working, wonderful people who genuinely wanted my wedding to go well and I hope every bride has the same feeling looking back at their wedding day and thinking, \"that was so much fun I wish I could do it all again!\"A huge thanks again to Amanda and the Newport Experience for taking a horrible situation and doing everything they could to still make my wedding day perfect!

We just got married at OceanCliff this past Saturday (10/7/17) and I don't even know where to begin - our experience was absolutely amazing!!! We couldn't wait to get on here and rave about our experience as well as thank the whole OceanCliff staff for providing us with the best memories and a place to return each year to celebrate. We worked closely with Amy throughout the whole planning process and she was so kind and accommodating, from working with special dietary requests to easing any planning anxieties that arose. There was a wedding in the morning before ours at night and the staff helped us plan in detail to make sure we understood exactly where we were able to get pictures on time and ensured both wedding parties were accommodated with what we needed on schedule.Additionally, KC was our coordinator and was seriously amazing (don't know how he does it)!! He made sure everything ran perfectly on the day as did our incredible captain, Gail, who was incredibly kind and made sure we got to have all the delicious food - don't know what I would have done without her! All the staff made sure everything was absolutely perfect and everything went off without a hitch because of their work. We also had our next day brunch at the Upper Deck and ordered lunch from Safari Room on the wedding day - both were excellent and everyone raved about the food. OceanCliff truly knows how to make a wedding spectacular and I couldn't be prouder to be an OC bride! We had the best time and on behalf of both of our families, we are SO thankful. If you are looking for a Newport wedding with gorgeous views, go NO further than OceanCliff!!!

We got married at OceanCliff on 9/9/17 and it was absolutely perfect. First of all, our wedding coordinator, KC, was amazing. He was totally to the point, professional, and got everything done and done well. At one point I realized that I had forgotten to bring our card box (and I live in Boston so going back to get it was not an option) and he found an awesome alternative to use as a card box that was totally perfect (and honestly better than what I was planning to use). KC made sure everything went on time, ran smoothly, and consulted me whenever/if anything came up which I really appreciated. We also stayed at OceanCliff I and II and he brought our lunch (plus an extra bottle of champagne!) to our room himself which I really appreciated. In the lead-up to the wedding I worked with Amy McCoil to plan the layout, catering, and other specifics of the wedding. Amy was very responsive, helpful, and would field so many emails from me every week. I'm not kidding when I say there were times I felt really awful about how many emails I would send and she was always so professional about it. In the end it was the perfect day and I have the team at OceanCliff to thank for that. If I had to do it all again, I would pick OceanCliff in a heartbeat!

Our wedding in July at Ocean Cliff was absolutely perfect. From our initial meeting with Susan in sales, we knew it was going to be an amazing experience. She was very helpful in getting our date booked and answering all of our questions. The food tasting was so much fun and the everything was delicious. When planning our food we worked with Kimberly, who was very responsive, helpful and personable. At the end of the process we had our event captain, KC make sure every single detail of our day ran smoothly. This venue is so stunning, it put all other places we saw to shame. Our outdoor cocktail hour was gorgeous, right on the oceanfront patio, and the ballroom has a completely unobstructed ocean view. Our guests can't stop talking about how it was the most beautiful place they had ever been to. On the day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about a thing, as KC and his team made everything perfect. If you want a picturesque Newport wedding and an unbelievable staff to work with, this is the venue for you!

Stop looking and book OceanCliff now! As many of the other reviews state, this really set the stage for our dream wedding. We just got married on Friday, and we couldn't wait to share how amazing our day was. The ocean views are remarkable, the ballroom is beyond elegant, and the event staff was great. Just a stunning place to get married at. Our friends and family haven't stopped buzzing about how gorgeous this place was. OceanCliff as a reception venue is top notch. Their team is an amazing well oiled machine. They assign you 1 or 2 \"captains\" for the night to cater to the bride and groom / wedding party and family. Anything we wanted, they arranged for us. Food is delicious. We also held our rehearsal dinner there, and after party in the Safari Room. Stunning location. All of our guests loved it! Note: Friday weddings are anywhere from $8k-12k less than Saturdays so keep that in mind! 10/10 Highly recommend.

I, an uncle of the bride, attended the 2nd wedding Ocean Cliff organized on the third Sat of July. Most of the events went quite well, but the food served was a great disappointment. The stake was overdone for one of the four on my table and the halibut served was TERRIBLE for the remaining six on my table. One had ammonia smell and all were very dry and flavorless. I would not have rated a three star if the lobster served was not very good by contrast. I also did a mini survey and it appears that some of the quests sitting on two other tables did not have the same experience with the fish served, while one other also found his stake overdone. In conclusion, I was very disappointed by the halibut served, at least those served at my table. I felt particularly bad about this as I attended the bridal show with my wife on behalf of the bride and her parents and strongly endorsed the seafood-sea bass in that event-served by OceanCliff. Before I submit this review, I did a quick scan of a few recent reviews. One of them advised against ordering cod. I do not think I will advise against ordering halibut, but I will caution that the seafood served may have an uneven quality for whatever reasons.

While we did not ultimately book OceanCliff for our wedding I can't say enough great things about our sales manager Elsa. She was great and I would recommend any prospective bride and groom to book and appointment with her today. She was honest and pleasant. Took my phone calls on sundays and returned emails right away. OceanCliff is beautiful and we were torn between there and another venue in CT. You cannot go wrong with the space and views there!

We had our wedding at OceanCliff this past Memorial Day! It was beautiful and perfect! We were bummed we couldn't have our ceremony outside due to the rain but the big glass windows in the ballroom added an amazing ocean view backdrop. All the staff and everyone we worked with throughout the entire process was so friendly and helpful. They really do an amazing job and as the bride, they made everything less stressful. Not only was the location fantastic but the food was delicious. All our guests enjoyed their entrees especially the salmon. Also, OceanCliff has hotel rooms right on site so many of our guests were able to stay at the venue and make a weekend getaway to Newport. We couldn't imagine having our wedding elsewhere. OceanCliff will always be one of our favorite spots.

Had my wedding there in October. Beautiful location, support was good for the most part. A couple of heads up, don't order the cod. The steak was good, but the cod was a sad disappointment. If your having your ceremony outside, make sure Castle Hill isn't testing their sound system. They made racists jokes during mine :). Lastly, check the guest welcome sign. They spelt my name incorrectly. All the all, would do it again but double check everything and save yourself from that cornmeal crusted cod.

I probably had no business getting married at OceanCliff. That sounds sort of weird. Let me restart: I always dreamt of getting married in a place like OceanCliff but never thought I would. The location is as unique, as stunning, and as impressionable as any venue I'd ever seen. The building is saturated with history, elegance, quality and character. Timeless is probably the best way to put it. You feel a part of something historic when you walk on it's grounds, into the ballroom and down the halls. My wife and I knew this was the place we wanted to get married. We looked elsewhere but couldn't shake the impression it left on us. What we didn't realize, at first, was how elite the entire staff at OceanCliff is at conducting weddings. The entire process could not have been more painless especially on our wedding day. Everyone is the most helpful person you've ever met. From the beginning, when working with the sales group where dealt with Elsa, through the handoff to the coordinators when we were greeted by Amy to specifically on our day - Courtney and Stephen (I hope I'm spelling all of your names right). Courtney was our day-of manager. Everything was perfect. Not a flaw or hitch in the event - frankly, this is astonishing. And still is now a month later as I consider it. I expected at least one thing to go wrong. Not a thing went wrong. Stephen - who works as the hotel manager is, without a doubt, the best hotel manager I've ever met. On my wedding day he even jumped in a van to drive my wedding party around Newport so we could take our photos - this wasn't a part of his job. This shouldn't be understated - this venue will bend over backwards to make your event amazing - when you're there, you're the focus. We thought just being at OceanCliff and it's environment would make the event everything we ever wanted and indeed it would have been sufficient - but the staff of this venue made it so much better than how I dreamt it would be. Our guests cannot stop telling us that it was the best wedding they've ever attended - and I actually believe them because it could not have gone more perfectly. Obviously, and it goes without saying but I'll say it, I highly recommend OceanCliff.

I was the MOH for my cousin's wedding on 1/7/17. When I went with her to one of her meetings at the venue to go over fine details/contract everything went smoothly and Jim was very pleasant and I had a good vibe about him. Now, fast forward to the morning of the wedding. Beautiful wedding and the day ended up being great besides the encounter with Jim and the staff appearing to be annoyed and happy to see everyone leave the day after the wedding.The day of the wedding the bride was directed by staff to put the wedding items/decor (which were all in boxes) in a small room to the right directly when you enter the hotel/venue-- which I'm assuming is Jim's \"office\" because he became furious and yelled at myself and the bride's sister Upon asking what we can do with all the stuff or if there was someone that usually helps to place the items out for the wedding---he said it was unacceptable that we left the room the way we did ---glitter on the floor in the room (due to GLITTERED pinecone ornaments which were the placecards). I then said that the bride told us she didn't know where she was supposed to put the items/decor for the wedding and he said \"oh did she i see\" ---very rude and demeaning---I mean come on, it's glitter and it was extremely unprofessional the way I was spoken to by Jim, I'm sure if it were a couple coming in to meet with him they would understand---it's a wedding what do you expect!! He just had no control of himself and I overheard him making smart remarks while pacing in and out of the room because \"what was he supposed to do having someone coming in 10 minutes to meet with him\". Also heard him say \"oh well this will all be over soon anyways\". This was not the Jim I met a few months back-it's like as soon as they have your money or the contract signed you are swept to the side and then treated poorly. The bride and groom paid very good money to host their wedding at the venue and this is just the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with anyone. Although there was a snowstorm later towards the afternoon it just seemed like the staff (including hotel) were fake to us--the bride even saw staff look at her and then turn back to each other and laugh--which is rude especially DURING the reception. Did I mention we had to delay the ceremony due to the shuttle of guests trying to get from the Marriott to OC and the staff (or whoever calls the shots) made sure to end the reception exactly (if not even 10 minutes earlier!) at 9:30pm. We probably lost about 30-60min of reception time. Despite the negatives, the time spent with family and friends is priceless and luckily everyone had a great time which is all that really matters in the end. Just had to share the experience. Beware of the glitter monster

I went to two weddings at Ocean Cliff and have known it's where I wanted to get married and once my husband saw the venue he totally understood why. We called in February and were able to get a date for November which made me very happy. Galen was wonderful to work with and helped us to find our vendors. I can't say enough good things about the staff that coordinate with you for your wedding. The catering staff is very attentive and responsive. I had a wonderful interaction with Amy. Stephen at the front desk was amazing with making sure our guests that were staying at Ocean Cliff had what they needed. I had my heart set on having the ceremony outside but it was November and windy. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your day goes smoothly so trust me let them be the boss and you will have the best time of your life. The ceremony was inside with stunning views of the sunset as we were getting married and the turn over to the reception was seamless. If I could give them more stars I would this place gives you the level of service that ensures your wedding is exactly what you want it to be. I truly felt like both royalty and that these people were my family and rooting for us which was wonderful. Olivia and Courtney our day of coordinators were fantastic to work with.

Fairy Tale WeddingMy husband & I got married at Ocean Cliff in mid-October of this year. The venue was absolutely perfect for a fall wedding. We had been crossing our fingers for months that we would be able to have an outdoor ceremony and mother nature obliged. Absolutely stunning views for a ceremony and reception. Staff on site was extremely attentive. While it was expensive, my husband and I agreed it was worth every cent and wouldn't change a thing from our day. Thanks OC!
