After searching for the right greenhouse venue for awhile we finally stumbled on Of The Land and after our first conversation with Bridgett, we just knew this was the place. She was so personable and welcoming we were really excited to sign without even seeing the venue in person (which was definitely scary) but ended up being totally worth it. We got one of (if not the very) last dates available for 2023: October 28, 2023. We had the single day wedding package (instead of the wedding weekend). There were tons of resources on the wedding website that were super helpful in planning for the day. The team was very responsive answering my myriad of questions up until the wedding day. Another huge reason for choosing Of The Land was their care for the environment. They compost all food scraps, reduce plastic usage and the food was farm-to-table with local ingredients (most from their own farm), which is why we were so happy to go with their catering. Along with the fact that the food was DELICIOUS! The dotty bartenders were quick (we never saw a line at the bar) and for our specialty cocktails prepared a moscow mule and the honey lemonade whiskey which was a huge hit! The staff day of were so helpful and checking in throughout the night to make sure everything was good. We got really lucky and had decent weather and the venue was still so green and lush. We were so grateful we were able to have our wedding at this magical venue and work with such amazing people like Laia, Monica, Trent and Bridgett. They all helped relieve so much stress along the way. I would definitely recommend this venue and this incredible team! Reviewed on 21-11-2023

I couldn’t be happier with the venue, the staff, and the owners. Everyone was incredibly communicative and kind through the planning process, throughout the wedding, and even after the wedding ended. I never felt like I was chasing someone down for answers and the event staff went above and beyond to help me at every turn. I was worried that, at 35 weeks pregnant, the wedding would be too stressful to pull off, but I can confidently say that OTL made it all so easy, beautiful, and stress free. If you want a reasonably priced, absolutely STUNNING venue with so many perks and top notch support, make this your pick. Reviewed on 30-10-2023

We had our wedding at Of the Land in August of 2023 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The owners are both easy-going and professional, and their phenomenal staff helped us achieve our dream wedding day. The photos do not do this place justice, it is so much more beautiful in person. The florists that contract with the venue are incredibly skillful and their arrangements really helped to take everything to the next level. Also, the fact that they do their own catering was a big plus for us; we didn't have to worry about finding another vendor and the food was absolutely incredible. The venue offers several packages, including the option to have it for almost the entire weekend, Friday midday through Sunday morning. We went for the total package and had our rehearsal dinner there as well, which was super convenient and amazing. The owners were extremely accommodating to our requests and were even able to redesign the floor plan to fit our 12 person band! There is even a farm flat on the property where our bridal party stayed the night; it was super convenient for getting ready day-of and for helping pack up the next day. We knew we'd need additional time to clean up so the owners were kind enough to let us pay a little extra to hold onto the flat until noon, rather than the typical 10 am checkout, which was super helpful as we were able to collect all of our wedding decor there before the venue's 10 am cut-off and gave us two more hours to pack everything into our vehicles. Thanks again, Trent, Bridget and Staff at Of the Land! Reviewed on 14-10-2023

My wedding in August 2023 at Of the Land was INCREDIBLE. The space that Trent and Bridgett have curated is just perfect if you are looking for a romantic, outdoorsy (but still very comfortable), fun and low-stress environment. The most common term our guests used to describe the venue/our wedding was \"magical\" and obviously I'm biased but I have to agree lol.I could honestly go on for pages and pages about how beautiful the venue is, how great the food was, how many compliments we got on the location, and how wonderful the venue team was to work with. My very hard to please mother, who was worried about an outdoor wedding, had only great things to say about the venue (this was a feat in and of itself). It was the perfect blend of structured all-inclusive wedding (the farm flat, built-in Dotty bar, bartenders, napkins/tableware, ceremony area, THE ZINNIA GARDEN, the amazing food) and build-your-own vision on top of it. They were incredibly flexible about our decor, vendors, and the timeline of the day, so I was able to spend most of my wedding planning focusing on the details instead of starting from scratch, like a lot of outdoor venues would have to. You do have to bring your own alcohol but that was honestly so great because we could tailor our bar to our guests' preferences and save a ton of money compared to bar packages at other venues.I had an embarrassing amount of questions in the planning process (ex, re alcohol, decor limitations, timeline structure, table arrangements, etc) and every question was answered promptly and professionally. Trent especially was fantastic - he called me the day before and the morning of the wedding to see if we needed anything and was even one of the people handing out appetizers during cocktail hour (which btw were DELICIOUS - please try the pickles you'll thank me). We had a kind of large seating chart that needed to be set up the morning of the wedding and he saved the day by letting us borrow his drill, because the screws with the sign had a weird type of bit that we didn't have. Just a testament to how caring and above-and-beyond the venue owners go to make sure their clients have an amazing day.Another plus - our guests LOVED staying at firekeeper's and hitting the casino the night before and the night of the wedding (note, Firekeeper's changed their policy recently and if you want to get a room block there for a wedding, you have to book your rehearsal dinner there - kind of dumb but the venue has no control over it. We had our rehearsal dinner there and it was great so it ended up not being an issue anyway). The ONLY worry I had with this venue was about the weather - obviously August is hot and we can't control the weather. But it ended up being a pretty mild day for August and, even though it was a little warm in the afternoon, the Greenhouse has a bunch of fans and a really pleasant crossbreeze when the sides are up. The day we got there and set things up was pretty uncomfortably hot outside, but it was very pleasant inside the Greenhouse.Last thing - the barn cat hung out during our ceremony by the mulberry tree, it was so cute lol. Obviously he's not explicitly part of the venue's offerings but was such a cute bonus. This is all to say: if you're looking for a fairytale hidden gem wedding venue with the kindest, most down-to-earth venue owners and delicious food, where you can build out and customize/personalize your day, this is the place! My guests and vendors could not stop raving about this beautiful, comfortable, and unique venue. Every interaction with Of The Land during the planning process was professional, delightful, and smooth. Communication leading up to the wedding and on the day was clear, prompt, and consistent. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail abounded. Bridgett's cooking is inspired. The food was just incredible! We opted for the weekend all-inclusive package, and this helped make the wedding day itself carefree and low-stress. Nobody had to rush around or worry about forgetting something. If you have the opportunity to book the full weekend package, don't hesitate! The low key vibes and high key brilliance of this venue is worth enjoying for multiple days.We got married under the Mulberry tree on a hot day in late June. Of course, I worried about the heat, but the shady tree and cool mist there and in the Greenhouse made everyone feel very comfortable. 10 out of 10, I would turn right around and get married all over again! Abby Fuller(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2021 It's really hard for me to slim down all the wonderful things in 1 review that's only 3000 characters because I could go on and on and on about how AMAZING Green Gardens was. We booked our wedding 2 years in advance, back in 2019. We set up a scheduled tour and Trent (the owner) was incredibly kind and showed us around the property. The property is LITERALLY breathtaking. There's an absolutely stunning greenhouse where one can have a wedding and reception in, with cascading foliage and greenery and chandeliers. There is also a farmhouse for the wedding party to get ready in, and plenty of room for people to relax and mingle in! I love how spacious, but also how quaint and beautiful this venue was. We were able to cut back on so much unnecessary decorating because this place was so gorgeous on it's own!! Trent was more than accommodating! We asked if we could have access to the farmhouse earlier than on our contract and we also asked if we were able to share the day with our dog. Both times I came to him for an inquiry, he was completely open and was very flexible which we were so appreciative of. The venue coordinator, Tera, was fantastic. My mother was very taken by her and her responsiveness to our questions and emails. When we got to meet her the day of the rehearsal she was super nice and everyone was working so hard to make our dream and vision a reality! Although we did not take advantage of the farmhouse weekend, it was so nice we were able to get around in such a lovely home. The farmhouse has charm and it really makes you feel like a bride getting around for your wedding! Lastly, everyone, literally everyone who attended our wedding was so blown away with this beautiful venue and I couldn't agree more! I only hope that someday I can attend a wedding here as a guest to bask in more of it's beauty! I came early with some family to set up all my decor friday, during the day. We hosted the rehearsal and dinner right on site by the bonfire pit (with the huge grill). Saturday morning we all got ready right in the house (hair and makeup came to us), then on with the event. Then Sunday morning we woke up, made pancakes, opened presents, then packed up all of our decor and stuff we brought with us, cleaned up a few things, and were on our way.Not only did we get all of that, Ann was there all Friday and Saturday to help with ANYTHING I needed. I got to have my dog be my flower girl (not allowed in the house, which is fine, hotel was pet friendly), AND ANN DID ALL OF MY FLOWERS. With it being a greenhouse and outdoor venue, I didn't need that many. There are 20 floral centerpieces included in the price, then I added on my bridesmaid bouquets, mother bouquets, 6 corsages, and my bridal bouquet. And they were BEAUTIFUL (for like $400 total)! They have a nice vendor list to help you find whatever you need, since it is a la carte, but I find that it helped me save money in the long run.I bought quite a bit of decor (because I wanted), and for the wedding we probably spent about $13,000 for 135 people (but had a lot of alcohol left over, so could have spent lest)Seriously, this is an amazing venue!!! R S(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2017 The Organic Gypsy catered our wedding in Southwest Michigan three weeks ago. Bridgett, the owner, and her staff were wonderful and the food was the best wedding food we've ever had (we are still getting complements)! OG only uses locally sourced, fresh ingredients and they were extremely accommodating for our guests with allergies. We had people who were vegan, vegetarian and had nut and gluten allergies, and Bridgett was not phased by any of this. Our menu included vegetarian and chicken enchiladas with fresh salsa, yogurt sauce, avocado slaw, salad, cornbread, and herb butter. It was a LOT of food! All of our guests left happy and full.Regarding communication -- Bridgett was pretty busy in the months leading up to the wedding and would sometime take a week to respond to emails. This made us a little nervous but in all fairness she warned us about this. We were happy that she was was very attentive the week before the wedding and called us multiple times to discuss the menu. Something to note for those people who like to plan everything ahead of time -- because OG only uses seasonal ingredients, the menu typically won't be finalized until the week or two before the event. Also, you have to be a little flexible because they rely on what is in season. We were so impressed with the menu in the end, even though it was a little different than we we had planned on initially. Bridgett really listened to our concerns and was able to accommodate us while staying true to the vision of her company.Regarding the food truck -- Our guests loved that this wasn't the typical buffet or plated dinner. The truck has an awning as well, so our guests didn't get too wet even though it was raining. And... the food was piping hot!We would highly recommend Organic Gypsy. We desired a relaxed, family focused, fun wedding, and got exactly that. My spouse and I arrived on Thursday with our immediate families in tow. The farm house is absolutely gorgeous and easily housed all 12 of us without feeling crowded. The kitchen was extra large and perfect for cooking large meals. We ended up cooking the food for our own wedding (about 100 guests total), so the use of the walk in cooler, as well as having the vegetables supplied by the owners was phenomenal! The owners were incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process, helping us with the logistics of booking, suggesting different hotels in the area, as well as getting the vegetables we needed and always offered that if they didn't grow it they would find someone who did. They also provided for all of the floral arrangements, which were perfect and stress-free. We loved being able to support the farm in multiple capacities with our wedding. In the days leading up, the owners, and those they have employed to help on the farm, were incredibly helpful and friendly, at points anticipating our needs before we even realized them. The venue itself is gorgeous, no need to get a bunch of decorations, nature does it herself. Our guests loved being able to explore the farm, see what was being grown, and enjoyed the fact they got to taste it all with dinner. We were also able to have a bonfire and s'mores at the wedding, which was a perfect way to close out the evening. We managed to house our entire bridal party in the farmhouse for the weekend, which was a great convenience for the out-of-towners. In addition, we used the huge wrap-around front porch for the after-wedding brunch. The grounds are also lovely. In the course of the weekend, we had the ceremony and reception outside near the pole barns, and there was more than enough space for lawn games and lounging in the shade. The pool and firepit were also big hits with guests, and we even projected a movie on the side of one of the hoophouses later on. There was plenty of space for everything we hoped to do, and the amenities were accessible and plentiful. Finally (and this is important for anyone who might like to host a wedding on the property), the owners are two of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. They went above and beyond in terms of helping us get the farm and the house ready for the wedding, from mowing all the lawns a few days in advance to running guests from the parking area to the ceremony in a golf cart on the day of.
