Prior to getting married, my now husband and I went to stay at the Off Shore Resort last summer and fell in love! I have no words to describe how amazing this venue is! Sadie was an absolute dream to work with! She ensured every question I had was asked! I got so many compliments during my wedding day on how amazing the venue was! The views are also breathtaking. I loved how everything was at one spot for my wedding guests so they didn’t have to worry about transportation to and from the ceremony/reception. My husband and I will definitely be back in the summer for a little getaway. Reviewed on 10-01-2024
Kayla Clasen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 You can't beat the view and the convenience of having everything in one location. Carol was great to work with and kept things on track on our wedding day. Reviewed on 12-08-2019
Kimmie Reed(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2018 Overall everything went pretty smoothly and it is a beautiful setting! However we did have a few issues. Our guests had problems with booking their hotel rooms, we had to call and speak with the manager multiple times to confirm the correct rate. The only complaint about the reception hall was, we didn’t have the second full time bartender we were told we would have. We had one bartender for 260 guests. They did refund us $120 for the missing bartender however we heard complaints from our guests all night about the bar situation. Reviewed on 15-11-2018
Brittany Till(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2018 The Shore is an amazing value for the location, view, attached hotel, and so much more. We had our wedding September 1st, and everything went off without a hitch. They let us come in days before to decorate and take as much time as we needed tearing down. I probably had over 200 candles that needed to be lit the day of and they made sure every one was lit. The staff did so much more than I could have asked for. Carol, Olivia, Paige, and Les went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. They offered advice that really made everything go smoothly. After our reception was over we even had the option to continue the party over at the bar. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and wish I could do it all over. I had between 400 and 500 guests and we used the inside space, front patio, and side patio with a 20x30 ft tent set up which really gave it the rustic yet fancy style we were looking for. Kristin Kilburg(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-09-2017 In small town Jackson County, IA, you can't find a reception hall with a view or convenience like The Shore Event Centre! Especially the huge patio overlooking the river. We wish it could hold more people and that it had a kitchen for the caterers though! Reviewed on 27-10-2017
Shelby N(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-07-2017 I can't even post all the issues we had with this venue because of character limits. Even my shortened down version was still 500 characters over the max. So please know this review is only a nutshell. There was a wedding the night before ours (ours had been booked for a Saturday and about 4 months later someone had booked for Friday). When my husband and I walked over to the event center to start decorating at 7am (it was to be ready to go by 5am according to the event coordinator), there was not a single thing cleaned up from the wedding the night before. There was trash, food, and PUKE everywhere on the area our ceremony was to be that afternoon. My bridal party (particularly my groomsmen) cleaned the event center themselves to make sure everything was ready in time for our wedding. Multiple other issues happened throughout the course of the night, but the jist of it is, the event center is under a new coordinator and she is not cut out for this type of position. Since writing my review of our issues on multiple other mediums, others have come forward with similar issues as well. This venue is cheap but it would have been worth the extra money for my husband and I to book a place that had better management. We reached out to management with our issues and received an email back where management blamed us and our bridal party for the problems we had with them and/or an outside influence. They never admitted responsibility for anything and have AWFUL customer service skills. Please consider my experience before booking the most special day of your life at this venue. Nicole Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2012 We got married on the balacony overlooking the Mississippi River and it was absolutely beautiful. Nice thing was that if it would have been bad weather we had an easy backup option for having the ceremong inside. And we had some great photo ops on the beach as well. Great service and beautiful spot! Reviewed on 29-10-2012
