Makindy Joseph(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-12-2019 Honestly the best! They were very responsive, quick and more than willing to help with things that came up that were out of our control. Not to mention how beautiful their property is. They definitely made the wedding an amazing experience. Reviewed on 07-01-2020
McKenzie Mandich(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-12-2019 We wanted a venue in south Florida that wasn’t a beach or a hotel and are really glad we found old davie school. Both the indoor and outdoor areas of the venue are beautiful, and Kris was great to work with. The venue is also really reasonably priced, especially given that they provide chairs for the ceremony and chairs and tables for the reception/cocktail hour. Unfortunately there was a threat of rain on our wedding day and the ceremony had to be moved to the cocktail hour area, but the venue handled the sudden change seamlessly. We would strongly recommend the old davie school! Reviewed on 06-01-2020
Jasmine Aleman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2019 Just recently had my wedding here at and it was simply a dream. Kris and her staff were super accommodating and answered every single detail regarding my wedding. Due to the building being an antique there are a few restrictions which they inform you about from the first meeting but are super accommodating to every request that was made. They offered the venue, the beautiful Chivari chairs, tiki hut, and a room. Otherwise it was a DIY for me and wedding which was perfect. We were able to offer a full bar and bring whatever food we wanted with prior approval of items brought. Old Davie is the perfect venue for your rustic wedding ! Reviewed on 14-05-2019

Shelby Hesser(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-01-2018 Absolutely beautiful!! Kris was amazing with answering all of my questions. Everybody complimented how beautiful the venue was and also LOVED that it was in a school and that the museum was open for cocktail hour. The staff was so sweet and I wouldn’t have chosen anywhere else to get married! Old Davie school house now holds a special spot in my heart! They provide plenty of tables and all your chairs! Other than that it is very DIY which was great for us. Reviewed on 01-02-2018
Alicia Pierre(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-07-2017 When I first started looking into venues for my wedding Old Davie School seemed to be the best choice so I chose this location. Of course the staff seemed welcoming at first (because they want your business $$$$). They were polite and professional UNTIL the day of the wedding. The tables for cocktail hour weren't set up when they said they would be. They told me that they have their own staff that would clean up and that we only have to make sure we get our belongings out; then they turn around and said that we were dirty for leaving the place that way and it should have been left the way we found it. Clearly they wanted us to sweep and mop the place after the wedding. Are these people crazy??!! Meanwhile, they were clocking us, we stayed 36 minutes too long in their establishment getting our belongings out, so they proceeded to charge me an additional $300. $300 for 36 minutes is ridiculous!I say all that to say this, if your are looking into venues for your wedding 1. DO NOT CHOOSE OLD DAVIE SCHOOL 2. Make sure you ask how much they charge if you stay an additional minute, 30 minutes, or hour. I hope you make a better choice than I did. They ruined the end of a great day. Some side notes on Old Davie School* You cannot use any outside furniture.* There's no true \"bar\" available outside under the tiki hut for cocktail hour. You have to rent your own or put some tables together to create a bar. *Pray it doesn't rain on your wedding day because if you want the ceremony inside it's either going be in the same area the reception is going to be or you have to pay more money to rent the indoor area called the \"Cafetorium.\"Good luck! Andrea Guzman(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-03-2016 Be aware of this place. I just got married, they took my deposit and then they didn't let me take a coach to sit on and they were suppose to inspect. What's the point of taking my deposit if you don't allow the furniture I need? Reviewed on 26-03-2016
Rachel Filhaber(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-11-2015 The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating to our needs. Kimberly was very friendly and took us on multiple tours of the place, letting us get a real feel for the space. We had the entire wedding at this location. We rented the Amphitheatre so that we could get access to the rest of the outdoor area, as well as the Bridal Suite, Chickee Hut (for the cocktail hour) and of course the Auditorium. \rWe had an early morning Ceremony outside under the tree cover followed by a Brunch Reception just upstairs in the old auditorium. We provided a layout for all of the furniture and the staff made sure everything was set up just the way we needed it, including the chairs for the ceremony, which was in the round. We neatly fit 100 people under the trees with this setup. \rThe Bride and bridesmaids were comfortable hanging out in the Bridal Suite before the ceremony, a room in one of the historic houses. It rained that day, but the staff was helpful in managing expectations and providing alternate locations. Thankfully it did not come to that. The Chickee Hut provided a great space for our cocktail hour. It was shaded, easily decorated, and larger than it seems. The staff let us take a few pictures inside one of the old classrooms as well, which was a great touch to our theme. \rThe auditorium is large and has a lot of windows and lets in a ton of natural lighting. Old Davie School does provide tables and chairs for this room, but we chose to rent alternate chairs that went better with our vision. The original flooring is close to 100 years old and approval is needed for outside furniture/vendors and did create some limitations on what could be used on the tables (i.e. no glitter or candles), but this didn’t affect our wedding theme. \rWe definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique location in a historic setting for an intimate wedding.\r Reviewed on 23-11-2015
Kimberly Stansell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-01-2014 Beautiful and unique venue, we couldn't have asked for anything more! \r\r+ We wanted a reception space that offered something special and different and the historic school definitely offered that authentic feel! Our guests were able to walk through the museum during the cocktail hour. The outdoor cocktail hour at the Chickee Hut was still cool in the Florida heat, too.\r\r+ Staff were helpful and friendly, but the venue is more DIY than your standard country club--no catering, linens, decor provided, still gives you a lot of flexibility. \r\r+ Gorgeous campus indoor and out, great for pictures! It is a historic building, so there are restrictions (no candles, tacking onto walls, limits for outside furniture). All reasonable requests for a 100 year old floor!\r\rAbsolutely would recommend for couples on a budget who are looking for a charming and classic venue! Noel Vitale(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-03-2014 My husband and I were drawn to this venue because it was close to our church, affordable, and the room had so much character. Try to look past the dirt marks and other things like that when you're viewing the venue. It's an OLD building. When the lights are dim you will not notice this, BUT you will notice the character in the auditorium. The architecture of the room is stunning. Our reception started when it was still daylight out and the sun was setting while we were eating dinner. It was absolutely gorgeous! Cindy is such a pleasure to work with. It costs $1500 to rent this room and it's totally worth it. Reviewed on 08-04-2014
Karissa Sewell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-01-2013 I used the Old Davie School as both my wedding and reception location. If you are looking for a park type atmosphere for a wedding, and a nice, different indoor reception hall for an excellent price then this is the place. We had our ceremony in the recently built outdoor amphitheater with folding white padded chairs in the grass for our guests (from Ultimate Fun Parties - must provide all outdoor furniture). The venue provides the rental of the amphitheater separate from the reception. The rental we went with for the reception was the Museum Auditorium for 4 hours which fits up to 200 guests and includes tables and chairs (they set them up however you would like). It also includes use of the outdoor Chickee Hut which we used for an outside cocktail hour before our reception. The venue does not include food, beverage, or any entertainment - but for the price, it is an amazing place to have an outdoor wedding and you can really dress up the Museum Auditorium for a reception. They due allow alcohol as long as the vendor has $1,000,000 in liquor liability insurance or you have to purchase a policy for about $200 (the legit bar services usually have the insurance - I used Best Beverage Catering located in Cooper City, FL and was very happy with their services and pricing). For food, decor, and other outdoor furniture rentals, I went with Universal Fun Parties who also did a great job with our event. Overall, I was very satisfied with the way our wedding went at the Old Davie School, and the outdoor photos we got. Reviewed on 27-04-2013

Hi There. My name is Kris and I love LOVE! It was always my dream job to work in the wedding industry, but having a family & kids, it was hard to work weekends. My kids are now grown & I found my dream job at ODSHM. I enjoy meeting every couple & learning their love story. My favorite– how was the proposal? Old Davie School is an incredibly unique venue–not your typical hotel or country club, for sure. I planned my own daughter’s wedding here 7 years ago & have learned quite a lot since then. I love sharing what I’ve learned & the great ideas/tips from some very creative couples.
