His son Marion and his wife Effie raised their family here, with Marion farming the land to produce a range of goods. This included cotton, tobacco, corn, fin and oasts, and velvet beans. Marion and Effie’s ancestors still own the land today, as it has passed through five generations of family members. This estate boasts a truly magical setting for nuptial celebrations. You and your guests are sure to be enchanted by the spectacular grounds, which are resplendent with natural beauty. The on-site barn is a stunning setting for receptions, boasting rustic wooden floors and high beamed ceilings dotted with magnificent chandeliers. Ms. Becky was a dream to work with. She was always available to help in any fashion we needed. Such a sweet and caring host! Our wedding was so beautiful. We had it mid-November and the weather was perfect. Mrs. Becky was so nice during our whole process and was eager to help whenever needed even down to grabbing measurements for us so we didn't have to make a trip. Everything was perfect. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

The venue itself is beautiful with a big orchard perfect for photos. The barn is wrapped in lights and absolutely stunning at night. Becky was so helpful always on call for any questions I may have had. She made our day the best it could be. 10/10 recommend having your wedding here.

They were amazing! The couple that owns the venue went above and beyond to make our day special! The house the girls got dressed in was amazing, and the guys had the use of the old commissary on the property which was perfect for what we needed! Plenty of space, areas for kids to play after the ceremony, plenty of hook ups for electrical, dance floor, if you truly want the experience of a “real” barn wedding this is the place for you. It is a real working farm (do t worry they won’t work on your wedding day) and is very well appointed will a lengthy dirt road drive up, shaded by mature Pecan trees, it really is captivating. So if you’re on the fence and not yet ready to decide on a venue, keep this one on your short list and go visit The Old Freeman family farm. You won’t regret it! -The Matherly’s

Meet the Old Freeman Family Farm Team
Welcome to Old Freeman Family Farm! My great-grandfather purchased the farm in 1893 and today my husband and family own and operate the working farm which includes row crops, a non-GMO feed business and wedding venue. Nine years ago, I retired as a Postmaster with the U. S. Postal Service and now, when I'm not getting ready for a wedding, I stay busy with our 5 precious grandchildren. In 2012, when we hosted our first wedding, it was literally an answer to prayer! Nine years later, we still love what we do and have hosted well over 100 weddings at the farm.
