Annalise Leaver(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2022 Book it now!... We had the absolute best experience we could have hoped for, and so did our guests! Ashley was INCREDIBLE to work with... She went above and beyond, nailed every detail, and was a true joy throughout the entire experience. The staff was on top of everything... Food was DELICIOUS and never had a line at the bar, drinks were flowing! Nate was our parking lot guru and made sure everyone was safe from when they arrived, to when they left... Even coordinated extra golf carts to our after party. For the bride/groom/wedding party it was a bonus to have a space downstairs to hang out and keep our items! Our entire theme, was 'TO HAVE FUN... (that's how it is supposed to be) and the Old Rock House absolutely nailed it! It's wonderful to hear our guests still talk about that night and we wouldn't of wanted it any other way! We truly feel lucky that we were able to celebrate our wedding here! Reviewed on 27-10-2022

I can’t say enough great things about the Old Rock House and their staff, especially the event coordinator, Ashley! My husband and I chose this venue for our wedding - both the ceremony and reception. He’s a musician and we are both into the local rock music scene. It was our vision to be married on stage, with our guests in concert attire, and to have our favorite band play at the reception. The management was so accommodating when we realized we’d need to push our original date back by several months. Ashley was in touch often and met with us anytime we needed to meet up or just walk through the venue. Not only was Ashley extremely helpful and open to all our suggestions, she stepped in creatively and helped bring our vision to life. We trusted her to take the lead when we just couldn’t pull certain ideas together. She even designed an epic donut wall for us!We upgraded the drink and menu selections, and had use of the upper floor and bar. The food was incredible, fresh, and cooked in house! We chose the t-ravs, shrimp cocktail, and tenderloin bites for appetizers, elote, Cesar salad, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and their bbq meats - brisket, turkey and pulled pork. Seriously the best shrimp and bbq I’ve ever had. The brisket was melt in your mouth amazing. Wish I had a doggie bag! Our guests raved about the food, the excellent, attentive and polite staff, and of course, the donut wall! The ceremony went off without a hitch. Our theme was celestial, and centered around the full blood moon that took place that night. The backdrop with purple and blue lights was perfect. They even installed a massive moon lamp, found by Ashley. The sound quality was excellent, and our walk in and walk off songs were timed perfectly. The linens and all our decor and centerpieces coordinated beautifully, and I couldn’t have been happier. We had an unforgettable night, and just wish it didn’t go by so quickly!! We didn’t worry about a thing. Even if you’re not into the music scene, the Old Rock House is a fantastic, unique and fun place to get married!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reviewed on 03-11-2023

But then Ashley and the team at the Old Rock House stepped in to fill his place and absolutely did amazing! They accommodated everything we asked, were very laid back about handling requests, and the staff the night of the wedding received AWESOME positive feedback from all the guests. The food was great. Pauly is amazingly creative, and he engineered the absolute perfect evening for my now-wife and I and our families and friends. We are very thankful for his ability to pivot and rethink what a \"wedding venue\" could be, and hopefully, this helps ORH stay a very successful venue thoughout the duration of the COVID pandemic. Pauly was incredibly helpful and made sure that our day was perfect. The Old Rock House took care of everything for us (food, drink, decorations, flowers, DJ and more), so that when it came to the day of we didn't have to worry about anything (including paying a thousand different people). Maxwell Suits(groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2019 Let me start this review off by saying this venue is amazing. A very unique location and the guest could not stop talking about how great the food was. Old Rock House offers inhouse catering, Bar service, & wait staff. The Venue:Exposed Brick with a touch of musical decor, not too much but enough for a nice accent. 3 Floors, Basement(Kitchen, Greenroom, & Offices), Main Floor (entrance, Bar, Dance floor, stage, & Patio) and Upstairs (Balcony & Bar). 2 large bars one located right as you walk in and 1 located upstairs with some small tables and couches to relax. We had about 150 people attend our reception, and there was plenty of room to move around and dance. We did not utilize there large outdoor patio which could hold more people. There is a balcony that overlooks the stage and dance floor. You can see the Arch from the windows. There is a \"Green Room\" downstairs where the wedding party was able to hang out and relax before being introduced without people seeing us, Also a backdoor entrance to sneak in. Bathrooms located on every floor. There are TVs located in several places so when the first dance and speeches were being given everyone could see no matter where they were. The venue was light up with our wedding colors and decorated nicely adding a huge wow factor when we walked in. Looking at the building from the outside was even amazing as all the windows were light up with our colors. The only downside is that there is no handicap accessibility for the upstairs, so any guests with mobility issues cannot get upstairs without walking.Food: Everyone loved the food, Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Smoked Turkey. The Meat served was on par with some of the best BBQ in STL. The Sides and Appetizers were delicious and they were very flexible with Dietary restrictions. Pauly is the main contact and Chef. He was willing to make anything we asked. He offers a menu but he will work with you to get everything you want.Service:Bar and Wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Some great people working there and they work efficiently. There was never and a long line at the bar. Staff was walking around Serving anyone that wanted something. The bar was fully stocked. we only had the basic open bar but all of the higher-end liquor was available for anyone to purchase. They got several different specialty drinks (Cider, Scotch, and wine) for us.Contact/Planning:This is where we had some issues. The main point of contact was slow to respond to emails (several Days) and several times the email would not address all of the questions that had been asked. When you meet in person the interactions are pleasant but some details get overlooked (take your own good notes). They are very willing to meet in person and let you visit the venue whenever you would like. Don't get me wrong they worked with us and accepted every request we had, but understanding our requests were being followed through with was hard to get. We also had an issue with communication about our specialty drinks that became apparent 2 days before the wedding. They were willing to work with us to figure out a solution and both sides could agree on.Final Verdict:Amazing venue, Delicious Food, Friendly Staff, and sketchy communication. If you are willing to just let Pauly do his thing with a little input everything will turn out amazing, beautiful, and exceed expectations. Be wary if you are wanting to control every part of the process. Reviewed on 30-10-2019

A year and a half later we had an amazing, unique wedding at our favorite concert venue! Pauly and the ORH staff met and surpassed every goal and vision we had for our special day. It has been 3 weeks since our wedding and we are still getting phone calls from guests saying how amazing the food, staff and music (DJ, Jamie, from the ORH) were and that our wedding was one to remember. Also, something that stood out to me was how accommodating they were to the elderly guests. Katie Hamilton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2018 Book this venue ASAP!!! We visited many venues and booked this place immediately after we took the tour. It fit everything we were looking for and then some. The ORH had a fun, not-too-stuffy vibe, was in a location where people could Uber home or get a hotel (no need to leave early or hold back on fun because concern about driving), it was extremely memorable and unique, it was easy planning (they provided the DJ, catering, ceremony, and decorating) and we would not be in a wedding factory celebrating our special day with 5 other newlyweds. When we booked we got the entire venue for the entire day to ourselves which meant we had flexibility to design our day however we wanted. We are very laid back and loved Pauly's no-fuss approach and demeanor. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and everyone loved him! If you are someone like me who thinks stressing out over the minute details that most people will not even notice is wasted energy, then Pauly is perfect. We knew the venue would be a hit, but honestly on wedding day we were absolutely blown away. Everyone was RAVING about how good the food was from the passed appetizers to the main course. This is not a venue that focuses on appearances with no substance. My husband is a foodie and was very happy that the tasting was on-point, but this is the type of place that steps it up on game-day even more. And the service was outstanding! No need to go to the bar for drinks, they bring them to you! We booked Jamie for our DJ who I highly recommend if you decide to go with a DJ. He was a perfect MC to keep everything rolling and talked on the mic just the right amount (not too much and not too little). He played good music that fit our style to keep the party going, and he was even bringing waters to guests outside while we were taking pictures and playing music for the kids to practice their dance moves in between the ceremony and reception. We actually had wedding guests talking about planning another event at the ORH and having everyone pitch in because they liked it so much and wanted to come back! Bottom line--if your dream wedding is something that looks like most of the weddings you have been to before, then this is probably not your place. If you like a formal stuffy or traditional approach, this is probably not your place. But if you want something different and memorable that focuses on the experience and memories, then you should book your event at the ORH. Reviewed on 08-09-2018

I loved having the upstairs and downstairs areas where our guests could hang out throughout the night, as well as the space downstairs where the wedding party could gather and keep their things. Pauly was super helpful throughout our planning process. Nicole Richard(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-08-2017 From start to finish, ORH was an absolute dream. My husband and I knew as soon as we stepped inside that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding celebration. We are both music lovers, and the multiple levels plus the stage would house our live band perfectly. I also knew that we needed to attain a certain level of elegance, and Pauly and Beth were more than helpful when meeting with us about tablecloths/linens, flowers/centerpieces, dishes, etc. They even did some special uplighting and stringlighting for us, which looked incredible. The outdoor patio area was so wonderful, too - because we had unusually beautiful weather, and it was great for guests to be able to spill out. I will also add that one of our splurges was a photo bus (a photo booth in a VW van) and it fit perfectly on the patio with plenty of room to spare! The seating options are very flexible, too - and this was very much appreciated because we wanted a sizable dance floor. Additionally, the upstairs served as a supplemental bar and buffet area so that guests never had to wait to be served. Speaking of buffet, my husband loves barbeque and this one detail was going to be my gift to him. We both assumed we would have to have that catered. Au contraire. From the tasting, we were blown away. We had heard good things but were skeptical. We thought, this isn't really a restaurant, it's a venue with a kitchen. But, Pauly assured us that it would be delicious and sternly said \"we NEVER run out of food.\" That couldn't have been more accurate. The food was incredible. Three types of meat, potatoes, baked beans, salad, vegetarian and gluten-free options, it was perfect. The sauces were the most flavorful. Our guests are still raving about the food. We have been told by more people than we can count (literally dozens upon dozens) that this was the most fun wedding reception they've ever been to. And we couldn't agree more. Hats off to Pauly and Beth for making all of the behind-the-scenes work (cleaning, power-washing, painting the day-of) come together so smoothly. I would recommend anyone who wants a FUN DANCE PARTY at their wedding reception to book here. We wanted a reception that was fun and reflective of our personalities, and we hit both birds with ORH. My biggest concern was that there was an event at ORH the night before and we couldn't get into the venue any earlier than noon, the day-of, to set up. Boy, was this a blessing to the bride. It kept me OUT of the loop, and I was NOT disappointed. I will add that we didn't intend on our reception to be elegant/fancy - but with no details spared. And I ended up being surprised at the perfect medium we were able to achieve. (My only suggestion for brides: You may want to make sure that your florist or coordinator gets in touch with venue and is able to do any drop-offs the day-of, but that is my only advice. ) One final note, our dog is our baby - and they graciously allowed her to free-roam. By the end of the night, she was sleeping on the couch. Again, from start to finish, everything was amazing. Not a single complaint or issue. We wish we could relive our special day a hundred times over. It was perfect. Thank you Pauly and Beth and the entire staff of ORH <3 Reviewed on 22-08-2017
