A rustic retreat on a peaceful farm, Old Saco Inn welcomes weddings to its setting in Fryeburg, ME. On their journey to the barn, couples weave through dense forests and peaceful farmland. With views over the Old Course Saco River, they can escape from reality and focus on marking their love in this monumental manner. With the White Mountains rising around them, couples can be immersed in romance and nature while they say I do.
Old Saco Inn sits on 65 acres of idyllic Maine countryside. Owners and innkeepers Bruce and Jon love to meet new couples and help them express their love for one another. Both previously worked as registered nurses in the Delaware area, and so taking care of people is a top priority. Through their current work in hospitality, they get to make friends for life and help peopleâs dreams come true. The barn is a reflection of this duoâs commitment to honoring both the past and future of their state. Local craftsmen and woodworkers used centuries-old techniques when constructing the timber used. This is coupled with romantic antique-style chandeliers and modern climate controls.
The barn at Old Saco Inn was designed with lifeâs biggest moments in mind. The recently refurbished farm building can hold up to 258 guests in its open-plan space. Exposed woodwork adds a sense of warmth and authenticity, while timber floors are ready for dancing feet. Attached to the barn, guests will find an elegant patio and walkways that lead them into the surrounding countryside. The picturesque Old Course Saco River provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding photo that encapsulates the atmosphere of your day. Between the Lodge and the Carriage House, there are nine guest rooms available for overnight accommodations. Up to 50 guests can be seated in the restaurant dining room for a delicious meal, while an onsite pub is perfect for making a toast. There is ample parking on the grounds for guests traveling by car. During the winter months, guests who choose to stay overnight can explore snowmobile trails or snowshoe through the forest.
Tiffany Fedan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2022 My husband and I got married this past December. We had our reception at the Old Saco Inn. This was the perfect venue! Kathy, our planner, was great and everything was perfect the day of. It was great to have a day of coordinator included who even went to the church with us. The best part about this venue, is that it feel like itâs yours. Book it, and everything they have to offer is yours to use. The pricing is transparent and the food options are endless! They hung our name sign above the bar, moved there giant Christmas tree to where we wanted it, set everything up, packed everything after, have an included rehearsal dinner space which is just perfect! No cost for using it.. you just pay for the catering. They have 10 rooms for your family or wedding party just a pathway walk from the venue. (One thing I hope they do in the future, is build more rooms!). The outdoor ceremony sites are numerous. Being December, we couldnât use them, but we did get some beautiful photos inside the lighted bridge. They have fire pits and a food truck. They will provide anything you want while getting ready like a staffed bar and food. I could go on and onâŚ.. it was just so nice to not feel nickel and dimed after signing on the dotted line. When we missed our tasting because we woke up with COVID, they not only packed up a box for us that one of my bridesmaids picked up and delivered, they offered us a complimentary dinner night at the Resturant so that we could taste the food hot once we finished our quarantine. That was very thoughtful and appreciated! Definitely recommend!! Reviewed on 06-02-2023

Karolyn Castaldo(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-07-2022 We had a wonderful weekend at the Old Saco Inn. It was so convenient to work with one vendor for our lodging, food, and venue services. We put on a Welcome Party on Friday night for nearly 140 people, as well as a 170-person wedding on Saturday. Bruce, Kathy, and Laura worked with us to ensure we could pull off two large gatherings in one weekend. Though communication could be a bit slow at times during the planning process, we would highly recommend this venue.Lodging:We were able to rent out the entire Inn for our group starting on Friday. It had enough space to house our immediate families and small wedding party. Not all of the rooms had closets, which was a bit odd since so many in our group had suits and dresses to hang. We also found quite a bit of material from renovation projects in Izzy's Loft, which was disappointing. The check-in and payment process was a bit confusing, as there is no true front desk area to check-in at when you arrive. Breakfast was included with the lodging, and it was so delicious each morning. I was also thrilled to be able to have our dogs stay with us for a couple of nights before the wedding since the Carriage House rooms are dog-friendly. Food: We werenât really sure what to expect with our food at our wedding. We did go to a large group tasting, but many of the items we were interested in trying were not available, and due to scheduling conflicts, we werenât able to take them up on an offer to do another tasting before the wedding. However, all of our expectations were more than exceeded with the food. We did the summer barbecue buffet on Friday night, and I had been too busy talking to guests to eat. Kathy was able to put together a plate for me so I could enjoy, even though I missed the buffet while it was outside. On our wedding day, we had assorted wraps delivered to the bridal suite and the Inn so our wedding party could eat. We had a slight mix-up on the timing, but they were light yet filling. At our wedding, we did get to enjoy a few passed appetizers during the cocktail hour, and the staff had put together a plate for us as well. Our buffet dinner was also very delicious, and the event staff was attentive. We even got to select the beers that were on tap, and the bar moved quickly and efficiently.Venue: There are so many possibilities at this venue! We put up a tent on the bonfire side of the Inn on Friday night for our welcome party, did our first look photos on the bridge, had our ceremony way out in the field facing the mountains, and did our cocktail hour and reception at the barn. We got so many compliments from our guests on the beautiful scenery and the air-conditioned barn. Bruce and Jon do a wonderful job maintaining the property, and Kathy and Laura were there every step through both of our events to make sure we had everything we needed. We realized during set-up that the ceremony site was being set up in a different location than we wanted, but the team was quick to correct it. Upon our request, they also moved additional tables that were not needed for dinner out of the barn and onto the patio for cocktail hour, which our older guests appreciated. Additionally, having the bridal suite and sitting area in the barn is so convenient because I could greet some of our vendors as they arrived for set up as we were getting ready. Thank you Bruce, Jon, Kathy, Laura, and the event staff for an amazing weekend! Reviewed on 11-07-2022
Lauren Carter(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 My husband and I got married at the Old Saco Inn on June 4, 2022. We wanted a venue that could accommodate a good sized wedding but making it a special weekend for everyone involved. When we found the Old Saco Inn there was not much about it on The Knot or the Internet and the pictures just didnât do it justice. We went to tour at the end of June last year and immediately fell in love with all the Old Saco Inn had to offer. We knew it was our place when my dad got out of the car and immediately started taking pictures. We didnât even have to leave the venue to think about if this was it after our tour. It was the perfect place. When we met Kathy and the owners Jon and Bruce, we immediately felt like family. We had three planning meetings with Kathy and she really helped make our vision come alive. The food was incredible. We had plated dinner for about 155 people, we chose roasted chicken, prime rib and vegetarian lasagna. The food was hot, well flavored and well timed. We had concerns of how the service was going to be due to the climate of the service industry in a relatively remote area, which was no concern at all as they were so well staffed. All the servers were accommodating, friendly and attentive. Everyone involved was great. The rooms at the Inn were clean and well stocked and if a guest had a need they were very well met. They did an incredibly great job at the rehearsal dinner at the tavern as well. Breakfast the morning of the wedding and the next day was delicious. Laura the event coordinator was so helpful and kind. The bartenders were fantastic with our group that likes to party. The entire staff was so great with my two nieces that at the end of the night were giving hugs to all the staff members. As the bride I dreamed and put a lot of planning in to our wedding and Kathy really helped make it better than I could have even dreamed. Many of our attendees are still talking about what a great time it was with many saying âbest party everâ. I think one of our favorite parts of the night was the after party in the tavern and having a wonderful conversation with Bruce, Kathy and a staff member Tyler. As my Dad said it perfectly âThe Old Saco Inn really Nailed itâ. Thank you, to the incredible Staff for making our day truly a day to remember for a life time. Beyond 5 stars! Reviewed on 16-06-2022
Courtney Catalano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-01-2022 It was such an absolute pleasure to work with the wedding coordinator Kathy Daigle, owners Jon and Bruce, and the entire staff at The Old Saco Inn for our 1/29/2022 winter wonderland wedding. Although we had some challenges with a snowstorm that Saturday- Kathy, Bruce, Jon and their team made it the perfect day and were able to assist in whatever way that they could when things went upside down. Working with Kathy for the 6 months prior to the wedding was so helpful- she knew just what questions to ask us, was always available to answer any questions we had, and got back to us promptly. She made planning a wedding and getting married that day easy!!! The Inn did a wonderful job hosting our immediate family as guests, the breakfasts each morning at the inn were delicious as was the rehearsal dinner food for our wedding party. The Inn rooms were warm and inviting, felt like being at home. Our wedding menu was easy to choose from as all of the food is just the best! Guests are still raving about how mouthwatering their entrees were at our wedding, how the bar and waiter service was perfect and how the drinks were large and scrumptious. Kathy, Bruce and Jon did an amazing job working with all of our wedding vendors as well to coordinate deliveries that day. Kathy and her assistant Laura even came to the First Congregational Church in Fryeburg where we were married (by the fabulous Pastor Violet- highly recommend her and the Church as well) to assist with rehearsal details and also the flow of our wedding day. Despite many changes that weekend due to the snowstorm and ongoing pandemic that we are still living in, Kathy, Bruce and Jon and their Old Saco Inn family of staff members made our family and guests feel at home, comfortable, safe, and made sure that we the bride and groom and all of our guests were cared for. They went above and beyond what we ever expected a wedding venue to do. When the florist didn't drop off all the bridal bouquets- Jon and Bruce stepped up to help make them from flower arrangement for the bridesmaids. When shuttle services for our guests and bridal party cancelled on us last minute that day due to the snow, Kathy was able to find additional transportation. The bridal suite area at the barn is so helpful to use as well when getting ready with your bridal party. We are so happy that we chose to stay and have our wedding reception at The Old Saco Inn and feel so blessed that they were all part of our wonderful, special, and truly unforgettable day. We started our journey with The Old Saco Inn in July 2021 when we walked into the barn and knew it was the place where we would start the rest of our lives together as husband and wife- we left January 30th, 2022 as friends who became like family with The Old Saco Inn owners and team. Seriously... if you are looking for a rustic, elegant and amazing wedding experience for the \"perfect\" (and I say in quotation marks as nothing goes perfectly and you must go with the flow and just remember to enjoy your day no matter what) wedding day...please look no further.... The Old Saco Inn is your venue!!! We loved it and our beautiful wedding there!!! Thanks Kathy, Jon, Bruce, Laura and Old Saco Inn team!!! Reviewed on 17-03-2022

We loved the beautiful barn, private destination, and the inn. Not only was the venue itself amazing, but owners Bruce and Jon are the best! When we booked in 2019 for a 2020 wedding we had no clue what was in store. They not only helped us prepare a \"Plan B\" but then helped us postpone our wedding to 2021. Luckily, June 2021 allowed us to have our wedding as planned. It was amazing and everything we had dreamed of. Our vendors, family, and friends all raved about the venue and the food. Bruce and Jon and their team are some of the friendliest and inviting people we have had the pleasure of getting to know. We had looked for months at different Maine venues from barns, to hotels to event centers, and all were nice, but we could never settle on a place. As soon as we toured the Old Saco Inn we knew that this was the place we had to get married. The brand-new post and beam barn is immaculate and has every amenity you will need on your wedding day. The Inn is perfect for family or your bridal party to stay on site for the weekend and allowed for a much more intimate experience. For any season this is the place to be.
