John Weiand(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-06-2014 We married in the church my wife grew up in, but Owl Creek Country Club was our Reception venue. We must have visited at least a half dozen options, but this was the last one we went to. It was beautiful and the staff were professional and courteous.\rWe went by the Country Club 3 months before the wedding and sampled some of the food, and it was fantastic. The guests had a great time and enjoyed the food, as well. I was hesitant about have a facility where there were separate rooms and not one main area (very hesitant), but the reception was surprisingly open with the large doors and the PA system. We had a great event and the club was beautiful during June.\rThe reservation price varies, we paid $600 because we reserved all three rooms, but you pay a lot less for only one or two. The catering was buffet-style for about 130 guests, which ran close to $1900. We picked out a variety of foods and since it was an early-afternoon wedding, wanted to make sure there was plenty to go around since many guests had not had lunch previous to the ceremony. The team at owl creek made it super easy to host a classy bridal shower overlooking the green. The food was really yummy and the chef can tweak menus to give you exactly what you’re needing! The support staff there on the day of the event was fantastic…they take as much work out of setting up as you’ll let them! Definitely recommend! Reviewed on 03-01-2024
Ayelet Blumberg(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-11-2012 The GREAT:\rOwl Creek Country Club is a beautiful venue! It was the only place that was elegant and classy while still moderately priced. I never dreamed I'd be able to have such a beautiful setting on my budget. \r\rI'm from Louisville but my husband and I live in NY. We got married the weekend after Hurricane Sandy and due to the large number of guests who were coming from the NY area we were in a bit of a bind when it came to giving our final numbers. Marti was AMAZING and didn't charge us for any of the guests who couldn't come due to the storm. They allowed us to give them the final number the morning of the wedding. Truly amazing. The whole staff is kind and welcoming. My girls and I got read on site and Megan was great - always checking in and bringing us drinks. Everyone we met was a true professional.\r\rThe not-so-great:\rThere was a bit of a mix-up with our catering order. Not sure how it happened but they served the wrong appetizers and the wrong fish dish. It wouldn't have been a huge deal, but we had a Jewish wedding and at each meeting we said we are having a kosher-style wedding, explained the rules (no shell-fish, no pork product, etc etc). They said they understood and have catered other Jewish events and not to worry...\r \rWell, some sort of pork product was served (I was blissfully unaware - my mother on the other hand hit the roof). They made some sort of financial reduction to the final bill (again, not sure what it was but the wedding coordinator was impressed with what it was). This was obviously just a huge mix-up and I can't imagine it would happen again, but it certainly did happen to us.\r\rThe other thing is that though Monty is GREAT at what he does he is not super responsive to e-mails. Granted, we had a lot to discuss and I'm sure he has never been emailed so many times for one event, but since we live out of town everything had to be done long-distance. To be fair - I found that all vendors, seriously, ALL vendors in Louisville were not great with getting back to us quickly. I think my husband and I are just too accustomed to the faster pace of doing business in Manhattan. So that drove us a little bananas. \r\rOverall it was a beautiful venue with really wonderful people running the place. I'd recommend this to my friends who are on a budget but still want to have an elegant wedding for sure! Reviewed on 05-12-2012

The staff was friendly and attentive the rental was inexpensive I didn't have to worry about a thing; As with any Country Club where you have to use their caterers the food and beer does tend to add up a bit. But it was well worth it...I'd pick them again. Reviewed on 10-05-2010
