Oxbow is a wedding venue that offers two unique locations in Maine -- Oxbow Blending & Bottling in Portland & Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford. Oxbow Blending & Bottling is located in Portland’s vibrant East End neighborhood, and as the name implies, is where we blend and package all of our aged beers. This location is also home to our large urban bar and event space, which has become a cultural hub and community gathering space hosting weddings, ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, family parties, and brunches. We have a great space to create your unique wedding celebration with a stage for a live band and a DJ booth for your epic dance parties! Our Beer Garden can be found in Oxford, ME, and is a stylish, rural wedding venue. This country-style property is the third in an impressive collection of Oxbow restaurants. The company’s other locations can be found in Portland and Newcastle. Each amazing space boasts a unique vibe. At the beer garden, natural farm surroundings and rustic decor create an inspiring atmosphere. This peaceful location is situated just off Route 26 near the Western Maine Mountains. Just a short drive from Portland, the venue is easy to reach. Both small and large celebrations are possible at Oxbow Beer Garden. A combination of indoor and outdoor spaces make way for events of up to 250-275 guests. Couples may opt for a cozier celebration inside the barn. The barn features a simple exterior with light wooden paneling. This minimalist design makes for a romantic wedding backdrop. The property sits on a sprawling country estate. The happy couple can exchange vows in the enchanting backyard beer garden. This charming setting is complemented by stunning rural vistas. A spacious deck area is available for the cocktail hour. The newlyweds can host their main event in the intimacy of the barn. The sprawling surroundings of the farm are also an ideal site for dinner and dancing. The professional team at the brewery aims to keep guests in high spirits. Their talented chefs specialize in mouth-watering wood-fired pizza. They will work to design a custom menu filled with sensational flavor and seasonal delights. The team grows its own produce on-site. The farm is ripe for the picking with delicious fruit and veg. Behind the bar, the staff can pour a variety of refreshing drinks. Sample some Oxbow originals, from beer and wine to soda and spirits. The team at the venue can supply rental items and organize transport. There is plenty for loved ones to explore as they wait for the celebrations to begin. Beautiful hiking trails are accessible all year round. An on-site store lets guests purchase lovely keepsakes of the big day.

We held our rehearsal dinner at the Oxbow Beer Garden and everything was absolutely spectacular. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with magical string lights and beautiful arrangements of pumpkins and florals. Even on a rainy and cold autumn evening, the space heaters and warm apple cider kept everyone comfortable and content. The staff, servers, and bartenders were kind, courteous, and professional, and Rebecca and her team were extremely helpful throughout the planning process. And the food was wonderful as well—the pizza was delicious and the kale salad delectable (our guests are still talking about it). We couldn’t have dreamed of a better rehearsal venue and are grateful to have teamed up with Oxbow for this special occasion.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at the Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford and we couldn't recommend this venue more for either a rehearsal dinner or a wedding! Rebecca and her entire team were SO helpful every step of the way and made every single moment of the night so special. Our event was an absolute dream! Between the florals the venue supplied and the incredible food that was served every single guest, including ourselves, were totally blown away. Our event was back in June and we still have family who tell us how spectacular our rehearsal dinner was!Also, and very importantly, the beer + drinks were so incredible! Overall, this is a 10/10 location to have a wedding or rehearsal dinner - the team at Oxbow will go above and beyond to make your dreams come true!!

Great beer, great staff, great place! A beautiful event space in downtown Portland! My husband and I are so glad we chose Oxbow Blending and Bottling for our wedding because they made it so easy! All we had to arrange ourselves was catering and a photographer (and even then, Oxbow staff met the vendors and coordinated all the drop offs and set up). Oxbow handled staffing, the bar, beverages, flowers, ambiance, tables, AV equipment, set up, clean up, and more, all included in the event space price! They were easy to work with and made accommodations for our budget and event specifications. Highly recommend for a good beer on a summer afternoon or to host the event of your dreams!

We hosted our Wedding Welcome Party at Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford and it was incredible. We had about 130 guests and besides at the beginning of the event, there was rarely too long of a line for the bar. Rebecca was amazing and extremely flexible. We decided to add 20 pizzas to our event about a month before it and Rebecca made it happen. She is an incredible communicator, always responding to our emails and calls in an extremely timely manner. The drinks are great and the food is incredible. Our entire group was hosted under the large wooden event area and outside on the main grass as well. Our guests loved to mingle from one area to the next and they even got a chance to sit around one of the many fire pits that were lit. The event was done extremely well and we will definitely be back!

We had our wedding at Oxbow Blending & Bottling in Portland in December. From the very start, Rebecca made the entire process smooth, and in the final weeks when she was not able to attend our actual wedding day the transition to other event staff was seamless. The entire day went so smoothly and our guests all fell in love with the location - we often receive photos of guests who have returned on their own visit. We cannot thank Oxbow enough for hosting such a special day, providing so much support throughout the planning process, and just truly being such a special event location - it was the perfect intimate winter wedding location.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have our dream wedding at the Oxbow Beer Garden. The staff, venue and whole day was full of fun and relaxation which is hard to imagine on such a big day but Rebecca who we worked with directly with made sure her staff and herself were always there with a smile on and making sure everything went perfect. I cannot recommend Oxbow enough for your wedding. It was everything we could have ever asked and dreamed for!

We had our reception at the Oxford Beer Garden location June 2022. We were married at a nearby Bed and Breakfast and this was one of the only locations for a reception dinner. Even though the choices nearby are limited, there was literally nothing about my experience that was a disappointment. It was absolutely perfect and what we wanted. The private room at the Oxford location is a perfect venue for a small party. We had 13 but could have probably included up to 20. The food was incredible. There is nothing lowbrow about gourmet woodfire pizza, the best kale salad of my life and the strawberry rhubarb crumble. They were able to accommodate several picky eaters, a vegetarian and two folks with gluten sensitivities. And of course, its Oxbow, the beer and wine selection are varied and delicious. Rebecca specifically made the entire process clear, easy, and magical. We didn't have to worry about anything. My brother dropped off our instamax photobooth/guestbook, the baker dropped off the cake, we plugged in our spotify list and they literally took care of the rest including tealights and cute tiny flower arrangements for the table. Casually walking into the courtyard with Taylor Swift's Lover playing is a core memory and the night only got better. We ate a delicious meal, got a bit tipsy, danced our first dance and watched a perfect early summer purple-pink sky sunset on the lawn. The only regret I have is not taking pictures on our phones. We let the flower girl and ring bearer play photographer with the instamax.

This review is actually for the Portland, ME, location- Oxbow Blending & Bottling, but there isn't a setup for that location on this site, just wanted to be clear for anyone reading!We could not have been happier with our wedding reception at Oxbow in Portland. Rebecca was so helpful and patient with us in initial planning and as we threw questions at her for 6 months leading up to the day. Staying in touch with us after our initial query is what really led us to pulling the trigger to start planning and ultimately led to us booking the date in October that I really wanted. The decorations we provided, setup we requested, and plans for the event were executed flawlessly by Courtney and Josh, despite my being difficult to keep on track while dancing the night away! There was also some confusion with my family members who were trying to help us get all rentals/decorations delivered (they tried to deliver them to the wrong Oxbow, which gave us all a good laugh), and the Oxbow staff were very helpful as those family members called them as well. They really went above and beyond at every opportunity. We utilized the “bulk” flower relationship they have with Broadturn Farm, which turned out above our expectations (the colors were exactly what we wanted even though they were not contractually obligated to do that)- Rebecca helped coordinate drop-offs of extra flowers etc. with Angela, and it all went exactly to plan. Everyone had such a wonderful time at the reception, continues to talk about how wonderful the venue was, and we can’t thank Oxbow enough for pulling it off.

We had our wedding after party at Oxbow Blending & Bottling and it was such an amazing experience! The team helped us plan beforehand and coordinate with vendors, answered all of our questions leading up to the event, and helped the day of flow seamlessly! It was such a beautiful space with local art on the walls, plenty of seating at the picnic tables and bar, and an awesome dance floor space. Our guests were thrilled with the quality of drinks and uniqueness of the venue. We recommend Oxbow for all events, including weddings!

It was such a beautiful space with local art on the walls, plenty of seating at the picnic tables and bar, and an awesome dance floor space. Our guests were thrilled with the quality of drinks and uniqueness of the venue. We recommend Oxbow for all events, including weddings!

We recently held our Welcome Dinner for our daughter's wedding at Oxbow Beer Garden and couldn't have been happier with the event, staff, food, etc! Everything was perfection. We set this up without first visiting the site, and were thrilled with the setting - the outdoor deck is very large and comfortably accommodated our entire guest list. The grounds surrounding the deck are lovely, clean, and lively. The food was fantastic and the staff executed flawlessly. I highly recommend holding your event here - and eating here when visiting the area!

The team was extremely communicative throughout the entire process of planning and then we worked with an amazing weekend of coordinator! The staff at the event was amazing and helpful and went above and beyond for all of our needs! We had our wedding at the Newcastle location, which is by far the most rustic of the locations, so we did need to coordinate a fair amount to bring in bathrooms and catering and make sure electricity and water were available, but the team was very helpful in coordinating directly with the vendors to make this happen! I had my wedding and reception here and it was as close to perfect as you could get! Not only were the food and beverages delicious, the staff were AMAZING! They took care of everything and were so wonderful to work with. Wedding aside, this place is awesome. Great atmosphere to hang out, spend time with friends, and enjoy some delicious food and drink. I live out of state but the next time I'm in Maine, I will definitely be stopping at Oxbow again!

If you want to get married in a brewery Oxbow is the ONE. The the breweries we talked to were expensive and/or didn't know what they were doing. Oxbow has Rebecca as their amazing event coordinator and she was so amazing and helpful. She coordinated with the other vendors and made the night go so smoothly. Oxbow also included an open bar (which they were very generous with!) and decorations. Everything was perfect without us having to think about anything. Oxbow was perfect for ur wedding, I'd love to go again as a guest!

We had our own designated area away from other patrons, but due to how small our event was, Oxbow didn't need to close to the public. Rebecca was so easy to work with and very flexible and the process was just so smooth and low-stress despite being during a pandemic (and we live out of state so only visited once during the process, the rest of our planning was done over phone/email) . Of course, the beer was excellent and the pizza is just so great. We were all also so pleasantly surprised by the pita and hummus that was part of our appetizers. I would highly recommend visiting just to enjoy a beer on the beautiful property or planning an outdoor event with Rebecca and her team! We have already been back since the wedding and hope to get up to the property to snowshoe over the winter!

We celebrated our wedding in August 2021 at Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford, ME with about 110 people. Oxbow - both the space and the staff - was amazing. The space was beautiful and their staff decorated it with seasonal flowers. (We hired a separate florist for a few smaller things.)During our event, Oxbow supplied all of the food. During cocktail hour we had charcuterie, veggies, and their fantastic pizza. (This is coming from a New Yorker who has tried many types of pizza over 15 years of research.) Our dinner was served buffet-style with chicken/fish/veggie options and salads, all of which were delicious. Of course, they also included their amazing beer, along with wines, and some mixed drinks.The staff was absolutely amazing. Much to our dismay, a hurricane decided to make an appearance on our wedding day (we know we know, rain on your wedding day is a blessing!). The Oxbow staff quickly adjusted. They changed the plan for where they thought food should be set up, donned ponchos and other rain gear, and with positive spirits got our guests food in both a timely and remarkably dry fashion (calling tables up one-by-one)! They did all of this with smiles and friendliness At the end of the evening, they came out to dance with us and we couldn't have been happier. Everything ran extremely smoothly. In weddings, something always goes wrong but none of the things that stressed us out that day had ANYTHING to do with Oxbow. When the bride showed up, they even led her to a little bridal suite, saved the cake for us to take home, and did things like help coordinate the tent and wedding canopy set up and set up a guest book. Much credit goes to Rebecca, the event coordinator, and Birch, one of the co-owners. Not only will we continue to come to Oxbow on the regular for our pizza and beer needs but we are so thrilled to be able to remember it as the place we got married. We give Oxbow our highest recommendation for throwing an event. And even if you aren’t throwing an event, we highly recommend coming to Oxbow’s Beer Garden for pizza and beer.
