If I could give them 10 stars, I would! We had to postpone our June wedding due to Covid. The venue shared numerous updates with us during the closure and reopening phases. Shaunna and Colin were in constant communication with us and worked with us to plan out our new wedding date. Pen Ryn made a new venue to accommodate brides that followed covid restrictions. The new outdoor venue, River's Edge, is beautiful and so well thought out. The view is beyond beautiful. During our wedding date on Sept 18th, the staff exceeded out expectations. Our day of coordinator, Colin and staff members, Judy and Debbie constantly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Not only did they check on us but they did our families and bridal party as well. They thought of things we needed before we could even ask. The kindness and professionalism the venue showed is above anything we could have ever imagined. We have zero complaints about our day. The food was phenomenal. Especially considering how most wedding food is ehh. Many complimented their dinner choices. Guests made an appoint to tell us how good their experience was during our ceremony and reception. Towards the end of the night, staff helped us gather our belongings and we did not felt rushed to leave. Looking back on our day, we can't stop talking about how perfect everything was. We cannot thank them enough and this review is the least we could do.

PRE went above and beyond my expectations for our wedding. After viewing over 50 venues, PRE was able to create a customizable contract to give us the wedding day of our dreams. The team provides prompt & professional communication and was easy to work with, especially in answering all my week of/bride-panic questions and concerns. Our wedding coordinator Colin was an absolute GEM! From our email communication, to our decoration drop off the week of going over every piece to be sure him and his team could fully execute our day of vision, to bringing that vision to life. Walking into the Belle Voir after our ceremony, I did not need to tweak one thing. Colin and the PRE team fully brought our vision to life. All the way to the break down where every single item we brought was put back in its bin or bag for an easy load out at the end of the evening. Haley was our personal attendant and made me feel like royalty. She accommodated my every wish and need and our day went by with ease with her amicability and professionalism. We also have to give a special shout out to the staff who assisted with our unique entrance, getting us water and holding the doors before our performance and aiding with the Mummers performance as well. With a whole year dedicated to planning the wedding day of our dreams, we truly could not have done it without the PRE team. The PRE team treated us as special guests and we are beyond grateful to have been treated that way as opposed to a number, and with a venue that does as many weddings as PRE that goes beyond what words can describe. We had our wedding September 2023 at the River's Edge venue. Throughout the process, their entire team was very helpful. They ensured we did not miss any deadlines, and helped us plan every detail, including those that we did not initially think about. The day of our wedding it rained. Their team was incredibly communicative with us throughout the week and the day of about moving the ceremony inside. We were completely reassured by their attention to detail. Additionally, their food was delicious. We received many compliments on all the food that was served at the wedding.The only drawback is that the River's Edge location has a decibel limit. While searching for venues, I looked for recommendations that discussed the decibel limit but could not find any. We were told by the venue that it isn't noticeable. After having our reception, I would have to disagree. We had a DJ, with a drummer and a saxophone player. Next to the speakers there was a screen with the current decibel level, understandably so in order for the musicians to be aware. This also meant that it was very obvious to all of our guests, and very quickly became a topic of conversation. The DJ had to remove the bass from songs, and even then the instruments could not be played at the same time. Our drummer had a full drum kit with him that could not be played as it would surpass the decibel limit. Throughout the night, the room became a little warm (as any wedding reception would) but my husband and I decided to keep the A/C off as we didn't want the volume of the music to have to soften to account for the noise by the A/C. The room never became uncomfortably warm by any means, this just demonstrates the impact of the decibel limit. In my opinion, if you are considering having a band at your reception, this is not possible at the River's Edge Venue.I wanted to include this in my review, as I would have liked to have known that the decibel level would be as noticeable as it was. That said, I would still recommend Pen Ryn. Their staff made the planning process so simple and fun. With the location you also can have the perks of a city wedding (rehearsal dinner, pictures, etc.) without city pricing.

I got married at Pen Ryn in September - great experience! The venue is gorgeous, food is awesome (especially the cocktail hour - WOW!), staff is friendly and efficient, and wedding coordinators are practiced professionals. I really appreciated how they had standard materials (\"wedding packet\") to help me plan the day and get all my vendors booked in time, and they offered advice based on their (many) wedding experiences. The day itself flowed flawlessly - everyone I talked to complimented the food and the service. The pricing is also very reasonable compared to other venues - you do have to read over your contract really carefully and communicate the options that you want, because you can chose to add on whatever you want to your basic package, which of course can get costly, but I was super happy with their \"standard\" offers (cocktail hour with 3 stations, 3 entrees choice for dinner, 5 hour cocktail+reception, full dessert bar, etc). If you are looking for a beautiful venue (lots of land, water view, etc) where you can have a straight-forward, fun wedding, this is it. My main focus was that my guests had a good time, and Pen Ryn knows how to throw a party. I hope I get invited to another wedding or event here in the future!

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Our daughter’s wedding was October 8, 2023. Chris was the team coordinator and Britney was our attendant. There is nothing that they could have done to make the day more perfect. From early planning to dropping off all the things. to the end of the night it was pure perfection. The entire staff was so efficient, kind and professional. Every time you needed anything if Chris or Britney was not right by your side, someone else was there to help. The food was superb. This team works like a well oiled machine.

Pen Ryn was the perfect venue for a perfect day. We had our ceremony and reception at Belle Voir, and it was charming, romantic, and had our guests complimenting us for weeks. The staff is incredible as well. Chris was out Maitre’ D, keeping everything running smoothly, and Dominic was the Captain of our serving staff. Dominic anticipated our needs before we did and treated us and our families like royalty. I can’t recommend Pen Ryn enough!!!

We had our wedding at Pen Ryn Estate in September and had an amazing experience. The planning leading up to the day went seamlessly… Pen Ryn was great with following up on the next task and they always answered my millions of emails very quickly. The wedding day itself went perfectly, not only did we get so lucky with the weather that day, but the mansion and the grounds are so beautiful, I seriously felt like I was in a fairytale. And everyone who works at Pen Ryn is so friendly and attentive, I especially need to give a shout out to our bridal attendant Dominick who really elevated our day. Being greeted with a gin and tonic after walking back down the aisle was a top moment of the day and seriously needed, haha! Thank you Pen Ryn for making our day so special and run so smoothly. We would highly recommend this venue!

We got married at Pen Ryn Mansion in July and we loved it. The Mansion is so beautiful, inside and out. Our coordinator, Chris, was so nice, helpful and made sure we had anything we needed. In addition, our bridal attendant, Brittany, was amazing; She also made sure we had anything we needed throughout the whole day/night and she was SO nice. Would highly recommend!

We had our wedding a few weeks ago at Pen Ryn River's Edge venue. It was beautiful! There was some unexpected rain in the forecast (luckily it held out) and they were so accommodating. Great communication and the food was awesome. Guests are still talking about all the hors d'oeuvres and the great drinks. Chris and Brittany were amazing and super helpful!

Mike and I saw two venues when we started our wedding planning process. Pen Ryn was the second one we saw and when we walked into Belle Voir Manor we were both speechless and instantly envisioned what our wedding could look like in the cocktail room and ballroom. The next day, I canceled all the other tours we had set up because our hearts were set on Belle Voir at Pen Ryn Estate. A week later we were officially booked for 9/15/23. The event team at PRE made the planning process run very smooth (coming from a control freak, this is a big deal)! We worked a bit with everyone on the event team until Sam was officially assigned as our coordinator about a month or two before the wedding. Sam (& her team) were amazing with answering our questions and giving us all the necessary information. Our wedding was the most perfect day ever. From the weather, to our wedding party cooperating for pictures, to our dog being in our pictures, to the food to the party everything was perfect. Our puppy was able to be included in our outdoor photos! Everyone RAVED about the food, especially the Mac&Mash bar!!! Not one person had a bad thing to say. Our band absolutely crushed it on the dance floor. Our maitre d went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I were ALWAYS taken care of. I could go on and on about all the amazing and wonderful aspects of our wedding. It was beautiful from all points of view indoor and outdoor. It was the most fun we could’ve imagined and then some. Thank you, PRE for being a big part in our unforgettable day.

We were married at the mansion location on 08/11/23. I am completely Type A and was concerned with every detail of the wedding. If you can relate- Pen Ryn is a dream to work with. The communication is via email but I did not find that to be frustrating, I would advise reading contract entirely so you know vendor times, drop off times, etc. The team answered my many questions and change requests within 24 hours. The week and day of went so smoothly- Sean was our coordinator and Brittany was my attendant- I couldn't speak more highly of them. My guests were absolutely wow-ed by the venue, the natural ambience, and the food. 100% recommend to other couples!

Pen Ryn was great! The staff was helpful and friendly and our wedding was beautiful. Brittany did an amazing job always ensuring we had food and drinks as we rushed around getting photos, greeting guests, and dancing on the dance floor. Sam was our coordinator and she was very professional and friendly. The day went without any hiccups. Thank you Pen Ryn for the amazing memories!

I can’t say enough about Denyse & The Pen Ryn team! My fiancé and I were let down by multiple other venues, but when we came across Pen Ryn we knew there was something different. The communication before we even set up our tour was incredibly helpful and answered every question we had in the moment. Once we made it in for our first visit we were amazed at the beauty of Pen Ryn Estate but also at just how well Denyse was able to answer all of our questions before we even asked. Truly loved every second of it & we can’t wait to celebrate our big day at Pen Ryn!

I would definitely get married at Pen Ryn again if I had to do it over. Our day was PERFECT! I would recommend this venue to others as well, with the disclaimer that you should be aware of some quirks first. I will start with cons to get those out of the way: They could do some work to develop how the lead-up to the wedding proceeds, since the current process is all-business, unclear at times, and you feel like a number. You will not know who your contact person is for sure until 3 days before the wedding. The forms that were sent out were a bit overwhelming, and the call-center style phone calls were anxiety-inducing as well. Be sure to read your contract THOROUGHLY, we definitely felt like we got duped a few times since we didn't know what to ask for in the contract. I highly recommend telling them a lower guest minimum than you expect, since we felt a bit taken advantage of when we didn't meet ours. Also: in the standard contract they only allow you to arrive about 45 minutes before guests, which is really not enough time. Fight this. Some of the final invoices that they sent us required some \"mental gymnastics\" in order to make sense, and at that point we were extremely nervous for how the day would proceed. But then the pros: the wedding day was PERFECT. We finally understood the need for all of the forms and details, and everything went off without a hitch. Shawn, our coordinator, was fantastic and communicated well with our outside vendors to ensure the day followed schedule. We did not realize how loose our ceremony planning was until that day, but Shawn organized the whole thing from basically scratch, including teaching the bridal party what to do and radioing the pianist when song changes should occur. Haylee, our bridal attendant, was professional to the highest degree and was extremely attentive to the bride and groom and the parents. We always had a drink in hand, plenty of food, and she even helped carry the train of the bride's dress several times. We also wanted to shout out Daniel/Danny, one of the waiters. All waitstaff and bar staff were wonderful, but guests said that Danny went above and beyond. Everything flowed smoothly from arrival of the bridal party, to ceremony, to reception. We chose the 1.5 hour cocktail hour, which I recommend highly! The upstairs bridal suite was much larger and nicer than the other ones we saw while searching for a venue. It felt like a luxury hotel and was open all night for us to store our bags and for the bridesmaids to touch up hair/makeup. We liked how the entire building/grounds were open to guests all night. Having the whole first floor of the house made it feel different from a typical wedding, and many guests also elected to hang out on the front patio or walk down to the river. While obviously weddings are very expensive, we found the price of this venue quite reasonable compared to others locally, and many guests gushed over how it was the best wedding venue they had ever seen. Overall we HIGHLY recommend Pen Ryn to other couples. We hope to return someday as guests to someone else's wedding :)

Denyse is amazing!We’re awaiting our contract to officially sign on to having our wedding here, and Denyse has been really awesome during this process. Yes it’s her job to be kind, gracious, and supportive through this decision, but I promise not every venue tour point of contact is…Denyse explained everything in such detail and answered all of our questions (we had a lot) and was super patient with us. As we move into getting the contract from her team, she’s been really communicative and excited for us. And before officially moving forward, Denyse was really helpful in noting our “date of interest” so if another couple was closing in our date then we’d be able to act more quickly. I also messaged a bride I saw on Instagram who got married at one of the venues and she spoke so highly of the whole process, the wedding planner, the staff, food, and the whole experience. So that sealed the deal for us too. Looking forward for what’s to come working with Pen Ryn! Thanks Denyse :)

Please do yourself a favor and choose elsewhere if you have high standards and expectations. At the end of the day, you will save some money at Pen Ryn, but the cookie cutter, nickel and dime wedding in a box standard formula just simply doesn’t work.I was a bride at the Pen Ryn Rivers Edge Sunday 7/16/23. I had already read some of the buried negative reviews, but fell in love with the outdoor on the water ceremony and felt the price point was decent, so I ignored the negative reviews about staff, food, and disorganization. Big mistake.It rained on my wedding day, and so my biggest plus of having the outdoor on the water ceremony couldn’t happen. Which then highlighted the inefficiency of the staff and the tent structure. There were several leaks from the rain, and lots of bugs, and if you want to open the curtains to see the view of the Delaware river you paid for, the venue will need to turn the AC off so at one point it was 95 degrees under enclosed plastic. Several people felt faint, and I had many older guests.I want to be clear, this is not a review against Chris who was actually extremely accommodating and clearly worked very hard, and I think would do very well at another wedding venue. This review is against management because Chris needed more people to do his job effectively.Everything was disorganized, the food presentation was not up to par for me and I received several complaints from my parents. Overall the event just felt extremely understaffed and unprofessional. There was zero attention to detail and I spent the entire evening running around confused. There were too many times where there was no staff to be found. We even had to cut the cake by ourselves with no guidance. I didn’t feel anyone on the staff was truly thinking of me and had my back. I also want to call out that there was zero diversity on the staff which as a black bride really stood out to me, but clearly doesn’t feel important to the venue.I’m expecting a snarky response about how I was difficult and the staff did everything in their power to accommodate me. But honestly, it was amateur hour, and this venue (after 28 years as they say) could really benefit from studying how other higher standard venues and teams operate. Denise sells you to get you to sign the contract, but don’t fall for the pitch, the truth is this venue is a wedding factory and pumps out way too many weddings (3 in the same day) to provide true quality. To the point where as others have said, everything is handled via email. Name one wedding venue in Philadelphia where you aren’t given the direct cell and email address to your event coordinator? There isn’t one. And the fact that Pen Ryn makes excuses for this and normalizes this is wrong. Trust me on this, if you have high standards, spend the extra $5k or $10k for a more elevated experience elsewhere.

Pen Ryn was an amazing place to have our reception. The food, the service, the attention to detail, it was all amazing. The day of the event could not have gone any better. The staff was SO attentive to mine and my wife's needs. They kept to the schedule down to the minute. The wait staff was efficient and yet barely noticeable. Our one qualm was communication. Sometimes you would have to do multiple emails to settle things and often with different people each time. However, they would always end up coming back with a straight answer and always immediately update the contract to include any changes. Would recommend this venue to everyone. Special shout out to Collin and Chriss who helped make the day so special!

A magical venue in an unlikely location! When my husband and I first found Pen Ryn, we were a little uncertain about the area which is a suburb outside Northeastern Philadelphia. But driving onto the venue, we were blown away by how secluded the venue is from the town. The long tree lined driveway to the venue that opens up to the expansive lawn with the Delaware River in the background took our breath away! We had our wedding at the Mansion which is breathtaking and elegant, and boasts so much history. From the outside ceremony location to the beautiful cocktail rooms and stunning ballroom, we immediately fell in love - especially with the library room! If you’re not into the DIY decor like me, and want to save money on florals to spruce up a venue, I HIGHLY recommend the Mansion. It needs so little additional decor which saved us a decent amount of money. My husband and I were also initially nervous with some negative reviews we found that occurred during Covid regarding the service, but because we fell in love with the venue and because of the reasonable pricing, we decided to take the chance and we were NOT disappointed. Our day could not have gone more smoothly, and the process leading up to our wedding day was also a great experience. Despite being overwhelmingly busy with all the rescheduled COVID weddings, Colin, Debbie, Alec and Denyse made time for us and were responsive and highly professional. Closer to our wedding date, they really helped soothe our nerves and were very patient with us as we juggled all the different responsibilities of planning. I do highly recommend reading the contract thoroughly. Some of the older negative reviews we found made me realize that the complaints were mostly from a lack of reading and understanding what was agreed to in the contract, and not so much the fault of the venue. Our wedding day was perfect. Alec was our day of coordinator and was fantastic to work with. He kept us calm and helped reassure me on our drop off day that the decor would be properly taken care of (which it really was!) I had a special request for a Persian Ceremony table which he helped coordinate the right table and placement. The biggest shout out and thanks goes to Brittany (apologies if I misspell her name here). Brittany was really what made our day so seamless. She was our bridal attendant and we could not believe how quickly and smoothly she would be at our side if we needed anything! From drink refills to making sure we got a taste of our cocktail hors d’oeuvres and deserts - she was by our side so quickly it was unbelievable. Our guests also raved about the food and had no difficulties at the bar! The fire pits outside and the sparkler send off were such worthwhile additions, and I highly recommend the day of buy out to give you much needed time to get pictures all over the venue. Thank you Pen Ryn staff for making such an important day such a wonderful experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives!

We were married on 11/19/22 at the mansion, and had the perfect day at the perfect venue. Pen Ryn was easy to work with from start to finish, while also being reasonably priced! They allowed my family to visit the location multiple times(we even tested out our centerpieces). They make sure you are on track by scheduling check-in calls to ensure your contract/planning is all going smoothly. Scheduling the food tasting was an absolute breeze. We had far too many questions at the end of planning and the team was always quick to respond(thank you Colin, Shawna and co!). The bridal party suite is perfect for getting ready and picture opportunities for your wedding. On the big day, Colin, our coordinator and Brittany were amazing. Thank you Brittany for always assuring we had a drink in hand! Our cocktail hour was simply splendid— almost a month later we are still getting compliments about the food. We were told by multiple people that it was the best cocktail hour they’ve ever been to. Staff made sure a tray of apps was delivered to our head table. We were slightly under our guest minimum, and Pen Ryn allowed us to assign extra meals to the head table as well. What sold us on Pen Ryn was the estate itself. My vision was to have a “Bridgerton Wedding”, and it’s exactly what I got. The grounds are simply stunning even in winter(see pictures). The mansion itself and the library room are perfect backdrops for your photographer. We loved our wedding day, and we don’t mind the compliments we continue to receive either! The rivers edge venue was everything I wanted, I booked this venue about 2 years ago during covid. Here were my disappointments Communication: the team only communicated via email. They never called you. Even on my wedding day, it was raining so I revived two unknown calls from Debbie, which I missed Becuz my phone blocks unknown calls. She called me to ask what to do since it was raining but I missed these calls due to them blocking their number so I could not call back. I missed the first tasting and lots of other notifications due to the email only contact they have in place… Direction : the day of the wedding was a mess. My husband ran a lot of the day. We own a nightclub so it was normal for us but we did not want to run our wedding. He was so frustrated with how many things he had to direct, like how the guest were walking into the venue with me standing there taking pics Before the ceremony. Everyone saw me! And no one was directing them to another area or closing the curtains so they did not see me. When guest walked over to me to take pics, no one told them to please go back to the cocktail area. Everyone saw me before the ceremony. My husband directed majority of the day… Payment: there was no issue except the 5% increase on 2022 weddings. Mind you we booked this 2 years prior and in the contract we were not subject to the increase, we could not speak to management we had to speak through Debbie the wedding coordinator, they ultimately stated they could have charged us 5% increase for every year and basically being nice by charging us 5%. The wording of the contract stated it didn’t apply but they were saying it did, my husband was a paralegal he understood the terms and told them they were wording incorrectly. We could have went back and forth but decided not to. In the end we paid the increase but we knew it wasn’t right we just didn’t want to fight. Venue : the curtains stood down but open only in the middle between the reception area and the cocktail area which wasn’t pretty. It made the whole thing feel so separate and the curtains are that pretty. Also the music, cannot be loud. I don’t mean loud like we can’t hear each other speak I mean we heard each other talk more than the music Becuz of the noise compliance they have to comply to. It was a little downer for us we were unaware… Overall beautiful place but I wouldn’t choose it again.

Great and beautiful venue at an affordable price for everything included in their package. We got married at Pen Ryn Mansion. All of our guests loved the venue, food & drinks and the staff. We had multiple guests who told us that the food was great and the staff were on point in terms of attending to them. This venue is historical and beautiful with the Delaware River right behind our wedding ceremony area outside. This venue checked off all of my husband and my wants: historical, beautiful outdoor ceremony, Plan B ceremony without additional cost, affordable, open bar, good food and drinks, day of coordinator from the venue. The staff set up all my decor and items I dropped off prior to the wedding. From my experience, you have to be planner/detail-oriented to get the best wedding day experience. I reviewed the contract thoroughly to make sure everything was correct, as they will only abide to the contract. I had to correct the contract multiple times to make sure my pricing and all the items were how & where I wanted them to be set up. The week before my wedding was the most stressful since they were not available Mondays & Tuesdays. Wednesday is when you drop-off/\"rehearsal\" and submit final payment. I had to call multiple times on Wednesday before my wedding to get the correct balance to get a certified check. It does take a little time for responses and communication so you may need to follow-up, as some emails could not come through.Overall, I would recommend Pen Ryn as a venue as long as you're a planner/detail-oriented. It is a beautiful and affordable venue with wonderful service.

Pen Ryn is an absolutely beautiful venue and a surprisingly good value for the price point. This venue is an affordable venue with a surprisingly beautiful offering and wonderful day of staff. All of our guests raved about the food and staff at the wedding which was wonderful to hear. We would have really struggled with this venue if not for hiring a wedding planner. The venue has no flexibility in offerings so if you are looking to customize any aspect or looking for a venue that will work with you - this may not be the best fit. Leading up to the wedding day the events team was difficult to get in contact with as they have a general \"events\" email that the entire team answers so you do not have one point of contact. Halfway through planning our wedding we hired a planner who was ultimately responsible for managing this relationship - so if you do not have a wedding planning this may be a more time consuming vendor relationship to manage.Overall - we had a challenging experience in the planning phase with this venue, but our guests were elated with the wedding venue and truly enjoyed the day of. I think this is a beautiful, consistent, venue for a wedding ( they host 6 weddings a weekend) and would recommend to any couple looking for an affordable venue with a beautiful space.

I don’t know where to begin. From when we signed the contract up to our wedding the event team was amazing and everything was so smooth. They were very responsive to everything. Debbie was our event manager and she was so great to work with! From setting up to running the event, she was amazing! Our personal server Britney was right there whenever we needed anything! We couldn’t be happier with the day and everything was so beautiful! All of our guests kept saying how great the food was! I would highly recommend Pen Ryn for your wedding! We had a great experience at Pen Ryn Mansion for our wedding on 8/13. The outdoor ceremony was absolutely beautiful with the Delaware River backdrop and Mansion image as the bridal party walked out. We loved the library and cocktail hour space and received so many compliments on the food both during the cocktail hour and reception. Debbie worked incredibly hard to make our wedding perfect and we couldn't be more thankful. Between the final phone call, rehearsal dinner, and day of event, she truly went beyond what we expected of her role to help us. We wanted a craft beer brought in as a signature drink and she made sure to get it, despite supply chain issues that were out of her control. She even helped fix my bustle with a binder clip. I trusted her throughout the night and I know my parents felt well taken care of as well.

We had the perfect wedding at Rivers Edge! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and the sunset we got to see was jaw-dropping! We don't know how we got so lucky! Debbie and her staff went above and beyond. From drop off the week of to packing after the reception, Debbie was so organized and on top of everything. She truly kept us in check with the timeline throughout the night and worked hand in hand with all our vendors to be sure everyone was on the same page! We talked through exactly how we wanted things set up for the ceremony and in the venue and the team made sure it looked exactly as we asked. The communication with Pen Ryn throughout the planning process wasn't the best, but once we were a month out and had Debbie assigned as our day of contact all that changed. We got so many compliments on the venue, the food, the drinks but especially the desserts! Everyone raved about the desserts and the donut wall! We cannot thank Debbie and her team enough for making our wedding day absolutely perfect!

Everything about Pen Ryn was great - the venue itself (we were at the Mansion), the pricing and everything that's included in the package, and especially the staff. The entire team top to bottom was right on top of everything and we want to give special thanks to Jen and the bartenders, our day-of coordinator Colin, and our personal attendant Dominic who was always appearing with another drink or whatever we needed. We're hoping to be invited to a wedding here in the near future so we can enjoy it as guests!

We just had our wedding this weekend at Belle Voir Manor at Pen Ryn Estate. It was the most incredible experience ever. The coordination, service, food, and our wedding coordinator Colin was 5-star. I am so thankful I found this venue on the knot - they were seamless to work with, always answering my our questions and reviewing details. They had plenty of attentive waitstaff and the food was AWESOME. Everyone was raving about our short ribs entrees, the cocktail hour, and the dessert displays. the entrees were served HOT and our guests were so happy. I am thankful to our personal bridal attendant that day as well, she was so amazing and helped to keep me hydrated, fed, and to bustle my dress! Definitely check out Pen Ryn's three venues - you won't regret it (and their prices are REASONABLE!). We will never forget how amazing our wedding night was thanks to Pen Ryn's amazing team.

I don’t even know where to start! I got engaged in 2019 and just got married in May 2022. My now husband and I looked at so many venues before deciding to take a year long break. I decided just to look on the knot and Pen Ryn was the first to pop up. I was in love the minute I looked at the photos and it was exactly what I had been looking for.From the first time I messaged them they were nothing short of amazing. They always responded in a timely manner and the day of was more than I could have asked for. It was a beautiful day and all of the employees were on top of everything! Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful the venue is. You will not be disappointed having your big day here, if I could do it over again I would!

Our wedding reception at Belle Voir Manor was everything we could have asked for AND MORE!! The venue and grounds were stunning, the coordinators (Both leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day) were absolutely incredible, and the food was so delicious. We could talk this venue up for hours, but when it comes down to it, they exceeded our expectations at every turn. They were so attentive to our set-up requests, the reception timeline was so organized, and our servers could find us no matter where we were to make sure we were happy and had all of the food or drinks we could possibly need. We loved the day, our guests loved the day, and we are all so grateful for this amazing venue and team!

They were extremely responsive to emails and phone calls. Having celiac disease, I was worried about getting sick on my wedding day. They were extremely reassuring and made sure I was accommodated. It was a pleasure to work with Colin and the rest of the event team. Everything was absolutely perfect, even with the rain. STEER CLEAR.We originally posted this review on google and received a very sarcastic reply. If they had simply reached out, apologized, and stated that they would improve for future clients that would've been enough for us.** ORIGINAL REVIEW **This is a long review. But I think it's important to know what you're getting yourself into before booking this venue. The one star we've given is for our Maitre D', Judy, who was wonderful to us the entire night, for the amazing bartenders, and for the guys escorting our guests with the golf carts.Prior to the Wedding:- Lack of Care for their Clients:With less than a month left to the wedding date (11/7), we received nothing but generic mass emails sent out to us about when our seating chart was due from the venue. The last time they reached out to us was in July. We had to reach out to them to get any answers about the venue and how our wedding day was going to go.- Lack of Accommodation or Understanding:The River’s Edge venue, when we originally viewed it with their staff, was taken down because it was winter of 2020. We asked to meet a coordinator in person to do a tour of the venue together when it was up so we could ask questions. They said they couldn't & that we should do a self-guided tour. So we yielded—we did the self-guided tour & asked if we could have a zoom meeting with them so my family could sit in on it & ask questions as well (they helped with the decor). The event team said they couldn’t do a zoom meeting & could only do a phone call because \"they didn't have cameras on their computers\". So we yielded—we asked if we could do it Monday/Tuesday at 4pm because that would be the only time that all of our work schedules would work. They said they couldn't and that Wednesday at 11a, 12p,1p, or 2p would be the times that we could choose from. We yielded & yielded. But they couldn’t even meet us halfway.On the Wedding Day- Some Pros:I would just like to emphasize, Judy, our Maitre D’ I think she was, was AMAZING. She ensured that we were at least getting some food/drinks in us as we were greeting guests & taking pictures.The bartenders were WONDERFUL.THE CONS:- Didn't get what we paid for:We heard from more than 10 different people that they didn’t see any hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour… Which is horrible because we paid for it.- COMPLETE LACK of Professionalism:Many of the staff had horrible attitudes. I’m also not sure if they’ve ever worked at a wedding/even served before because glasses/plates were being dropped all night by the staff. We also heard from 3 people who overheard a conversation btw 2 servers where one server told the other that one of the kids had asked for ketchup for their chicken tenders. The other replied, “I don’t feel like going back there to get it. Just TELL THEM WE DON’T HAVE ANY.” I was absolutely appalled when I heard this & wish I knew that night so I could’ve said something directly to those servers.Plates were taken away (Even after our 2 of our friends specifically asked their server not to take them away) when people had gotten up to get a drink so many of our guests left hungry…Our wedding cake was cut up & put in a HEAPING pile on the dessert table for guests to scoop like slop onto their plates.

My wife and I had found Pen Ryn on The Knot and compared to other places we were looking it seemed to have everything we wanted from gorgeous views, plenty of open outdoor space, a large cocktail and ballroom floor. We had originally set our date for October of 2020, when the Covid outbreak began in early 2020 they informed us that we could transfer to to 2021 for an additional 10% per person. We knew it was going to be the right call so we pushed our reception back to here and had a small private wedding in 2020. In the time between they responded to our emails and questions when we had them. We just had the wedding last night and we had a great time. They informed us as soon as we arrived that there was going to be a small rain shower passing over at the exact time we were going to have a small vow renewal outside. They said they could move everything inside but would have to start immediately (about 2 hours before) we decided to risk it but unfortunately the rain still came, we were still able to have the wedding inside just no seating and it still worked out great. The staff was super helpful and attentive us and the wedding party.

Pen Ryn was a wonderful and beautiful location for our wedding! We had our wedding at the Belle Voir Manor site. The staff was professional and very organized when it came to the day of the event. Leading up to the event, there were some communication obstacles, but honestly, I think it was more COVID-related than anything (we got married the week the mandates were lifted, which provided its own challenges leading up to the event.) Overall, I'd host another event there and it was a beautiful venue that many of our guests also loved. Part of the charm of this location is that it doesn't require a lot of extra - our marriage ceremony area, cocktail area, and ballroom were all so beautifully decorated to start with, we didn't need many additional florals or embellishments.

Your wedding day is a day you dream about & should be an exciting time to celebrate with friends/family, not a day you can't wait to be over. One thing I'll say is that Pen Ryn Estate is very nice w/ good food, but there are other beautiful places w/ good food out there too. Our original wedding date was 9/11/20 & in July '20 the country was in the \"green\" and we were good to go w/ having our reception at Belle Voir Manor. Aug '20 comes along & suddenly we're back in the red, unable to have any indoor event. During the pandemic, you would've thought that PR would've been reaching out &communicating w/ the couples for their upcoming weddings with their plans for how to handle not having an indoor event. When WE reached out to THEM, not the other way around, they really didn’t have many suggestions on what to do. They provided very limited options, & we even offered some additional thoughts, which isn't our job to do but felt we needed to since they didn’t really seem to know what could/couldn’t be done on their estate. In Aug '20, our options were: 1) Pay an extra $3K+ to have the outside of BV tented, &limit our guest list, but continue to pay for the 190 guaranteed amount of people. There was NO working with us on the contract. 2) Postpone our event to a later date, &hope that we're clear to have indoor events. 3) Move our event to the new outdoor venue (River's Edge, which wasn't completed yet) keeping the 9/11 date. During an already stressful time, PR's team didn't make things any easier. They'll tell you that they had to reschedule 300+ weddings & their team did a great job, etc. but the truth is that they didn't have to reschedule any of the weddings during the pandemic. They could've given us our money back, but that was never an option. They wouldn’t work with us on the contract at all, the only thing they cared about was getting their money. Another comment on here says they're a money-hungry company & that's exactly right. They'll nickel/dime you for EVERYTHING! All of our other vendors were great/super easy to work with, making PR really stand out as a poor partner. Also, my brother & sister rescheduled their wedding dates at other venues during this time with no issue/additional cost moving it a year out! Trying to make sure we were doing the right thing for our guests & have a safe environment, we chose to move our date & move to the outdoor venue since we weren't sure where we would be in the future. By moving to July 21 (not even a year past our original date) they charged an additional $2500 PLUS 10% added to each entrée. It really was a very frustrating experience with PR and we've heard from many other couples similar things. If you read the replies to the negative comments, PR’s team will try to justify why things happened the way they did. Most companies will apologize, take your feedback & try to improve their processes to make their future customers happy, but PR takes no blame for anything & it’s always the couple's fault for why things went sour. There are 8 negative comments plus this one & I am sure more will be coming unless they focus on their customer service. PR has nice views of the river, but their customer service/relationship building really needs work. There are many other beautiful venues out there. Pen Ryn Estate was AMAZING. They were so understanding when we had to push back the wedding because of Covid, and they made it so easy to reschedule. They helped us with any questions we had and responded so quickly! Lavelle and Colin were absolutely amazing and wonderful! They kept everything on track and were honestly so kind and caring. I wish I could give these guys more than 5 stars because they deserve it! Honestly, I had the best day of my life there and I’m soooo happy went with them :) Not to mention the Estate itself is absolutely stunning. You barely need any decorations because the house itself is so beautiful!

We got married at the mansion on 8/21/21, and it was an absolute dream! The Pen Ryn event team truly took my vision and turned it into a reality. Any stress I had over our big day virtually vanished when we walked into the mansion. The team set everything up exactly how I envisioned it, and if anything went wrong that day, it was handled without my involvement which was so appreciated! Shauna and Amir were my day-of coordinators, and they made sure everything went so smoothly. It was forecasted to rain, but I was never pressured to move my ceremony inside, so they made it work outside and it was a dream. If you get married in the mansion, I highly recommend the girls getting ready there! It was so much fun seeing the mansion come together and watching guests arrive. They also provided plenty of food and drinks before as well, which started the day off on such a fun note! We had so many compliments on our wedding, the beauty of the mansion, and the FOOD! The hibachi station and fry-yay bar were huge hits!! It truly felt like one big party in the mansion, and we couldn't have imagined a better venue. Thank you Pen Ryn, for giving us the wedding of our DREAMS!!

My fiance and I booked our wedding at the Pen Ryn Mansion for September 2022. After researching dozens of venues, Pen Ryn was clearly our perfect fit. The venue is a gorgeous, beautifully restored historic property right on the water, at an affordable price and the menu looks great (can't wait to try it!). It checked all of the boxes for us, but what made us choose the venue is the staff. We've been communicating with the staff for five months now and EVERYONE - from the sales team (thanks, Adriana!) to the events team (thanks, Colin and Debbie!) - has been kind, responsive, and professional. And their reviews tell the same story. I sent out dozens of inquiries to venues during my search, but found myself repeatedly getting no responses or having to follow up to get answers. Initially, I didnt think PRE would be a fit for us because of their guest count minimum - but the team worked with us to figure out an alternative, and throughout treated us like family.I've seen lots of negative reviews about the way events were handled during the pandemic, so I wanted to share my experience so far. I can say that the way PRE handled pandemic weddings is consistent with what is in their contract that I signed. And as far as I can tell, it is the same way that other venues have handled cancellations and reschedules. I haven't seen a single wedding venue offer refundable deposits. We are so excited to get married here next fall! Thanks, team, for all of the work you've done to make us feel welcome!

FIND ANOTHER VENUE! It is our opinion that Pen Ryn staff and management are NON-COMMUNICATIVE, reprehensible, greedy individuals.They were not compassionate at all during our Covid experience.We were originally booked at the Mansion last fall and had to switch to Rivers Edge 6 weeks prior to our date. As there were considerable less amenities with the tent, we had to scramble to bring vendors in to give it the elegant look and feel we wanted. They charged the same price for less amenities! Paris, daughter of the owner, told us when we initially toured there would be ceiling draping, 2 chandeliers and a custom bar. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED! We had to do our own research on all vendors as they dragged their feet on getting back to us on EVERYTHING! NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US THE ENTIRE WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING - email, phone, texts. We advised months in advance that WE WERE ALSO AFFECTED by Covid and our numbers would be lower. They said they would revisit when we did the table set up a couple weeks prior to the wedding. When the time came, they charged us for 50 guests that they had to do nothing for! We asked for the food to be donated since we paid for it, they refused. We asked for them to meet us half way since we were both affected by Covid, they refused. Never once did we ask for a refund of deposit monies, just to be fair under the circumstances. THEY OFFERED US 3 TIMES TO LEAVE OUR DEPOSIT MONIES ON THE TABLE AND WALK AWAY - pure greed! Pen Ryn said we never met with Paris but she’s in our tour video. Management said we knew about using their sound system at the beginning which is totally false - they told us the week of the wedding! Shauna is the worst human being we have ever met, she is extremely rude, crude, talks over you on the phone and will try to talk you out of bringing vendors in. She told us we didn’t want to enhance the tent with draping (which we did!) and it would cost at least $25K - it cost us $3,500. They will make your DJ or band use their sound system - it sucks and didn’t work so only half the guests could hear the speeches. And don’t believe the fully heated and AC In Oct, we asked 3 times for the heat to be turned up. Our guests sat with coats on. They made ZERO adjustments for us afterward. Just as many of the reviews state, they are “greedy, scum bag folks” It is our opinion they are just horrible people and maybe that is why they took down their own Facebook page last spring after so many negative comments. The Phil Inquirer featured them in a very negative story last spring also. It is our opinion that there are many other beautiful views in the area - these folks will make your planning miserable. Despicable human beings and not worth your stress trust me! If it wasn’t for our day of planner, a former Director of Catering for a major hotel, our wedding day would have been a disaster. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER VENUE. You will be much happier and less stressed to do so.The ONLY reason we hung in was because our kids were older and wanted to not wait because they wanted to start a family.

My husband and I were married at Pen Ryn mansion on 7/25/21. While the venue and grounds are beautiful, I cannot in good conscience recommend this vendor to any other couple. We booked in February 2020 right before COVID hit, and all along we were fortunate to be able to keep our original wedding date. The sales team was awesome and really took their time showing us around the venues and explaining the history of the mansion and the manor next door. It all went downhill from there. We understand the strain COVID took on the wedding industry, but pen ryn estate went silent mid-March. They would take days to respond to emails (this continued up to and including the week of the wedding) and would not take any phone calls or let us stop by the venue to see the new tent venue they built during COVID. Our maitre d the day of the wedding was a joke and was never around when we needed him. I had a guest who is a very close friend of mine come early to help set up a couple things and she mentioned several times how inept he seemed. They made a mistake in our contract, overcharging us by a few hundred dollars and then took several days to correct it. It was about 90 degrees on the day of the wedding, and the A/C in the bridal suite was broken. My now husband does not share this opinion, but I personally don’t feel like the food was very good. Our tasting in Feb 2020 was great, but the chicken on the wedding day was NOT what we ordered, and the short ribs were dry. Overall, we just feel their event team is not really there to support couples after the initial contract is signed. I will however say that the wait staff on the day of our wedding was awesome. Very attentive, and we were not in want of anything.

We could not have been more impressed with Katie, our wedding sales manager. She went above and beyond helping us pick the best venue for us. She asked questions, gave us tons of information, and truly wanted to hear and understand what WE wanted in our wedding. She made the whole touring experience amazing. After picking our venue, we were greeted with emails from the Event Managers who could not have been more polite! We are so excited for our wedding in 2023!!!! We got married at the Belle Voir on May 7th, 2021. The actual wedding day was fantastic. The staff were extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, before we could even think to ask. They did a good job of switching our ceremony to indoors as unexpected rain poured down on us. The venue is beautiful and guests gave us many compliments. We were very happy on our wedding day.Communications prior to the wedding could be improved. We were extremely impressed when we toured in January 2020, but communications after we signed the contract were significantly slower. In March 2021, 60 days before our wedding, we were told there would be limited options to postpone our wedding and that we should move forward with sending invitations. At the time, the venue could only hold 120 guests which was less than our guaranteed number and half of the quantity we wanted to invite. Weeks before our wedding, we argued having to pay for our guaranteed guest count, a number we signed prior to the start of COVID-19. Staff worked with us a little bit, but we ended up having to pay for meals we never received. We didn't receive our final contract, after begging for over a week, until 2 days before the wedding and had to scramble to get a certified check in time. Be cautious with your contract, there is limited flexibility.

We decided to pick this venue because of where it is located and the beautiful grounds surrounding the venue. Unfortunately, this is the most positive thing I have to say about Pen Ryn. We booked Bell Voir Manor over 2 years ago and were one of the first couples who had to postpone our wedding due to COVID (our original date was May 2020). Our original guest list had 300+ people on it, so we had to adjust our new guest list since only 150 persons were allowed inside in May 2021.We had very few things go correctly with this venue and instead of being empathetic and understanding, our wedding coordinator was defensive and spiteful. During one of our scheduled phone calls 6 weeks before the wedding, our coordinator was unable to provide us with any type of update and told us that they are working on a plan but refused share their plan with us until they “finalized some loose ends”. Instead, our event coordinator told us several times how many other couples that she had helped, which obviously left us feeling very frustrated and anxious. I think the most frustrating part of planning a wedding at Pen Ryn was the lack of communication and how difficult it was to get in touch with anyone. A week before the wedding we still had not heard from them regarding a tent contract, which Pen Ryn offered to us as part of their plan to accommodate more guests. The tent was an additional $4400 according to Pen Ryn, however, last week they were requesting an additional $1000 and appeared to have no idea how much the tent actually cost. And, here we are…. My wedding was 1 week ago and I have yet to see this tent contract that they promised to send over “right away” 4 weeks ago now. I feel completed ripped off, lied to, and cheated by a very money-hungry wedding venue. We also had not heard from Pen Ryn regarding the seating chart, event timeline, or final payment until the day before our wedding; even though we had reached out several weeks prior with this information. At that time, we were informed that our event coordinator who had been our point of contact for the last 2 years was away in Nashville getting married herself. This took us completely off guard as no one had ever communicated this information to us so we had no clue that our original event coordinator was away the week of our wedding and that someone else would be taking over. Don’t bother trying to call Pen Ryn, the chances that someone answers the phone are worse than the chance of being struck by lightning. Jokes on you if you were thinking about leaving a voicemail…their mailbox is full and when it is not full it cuts you off halfway through and ends the call. Email and scheduled phone calls were somewhat effective. However, it frequently took 1-2 weeks before we would receive a response, despite their email tag saying they will respond within 24 hours. My wedding planner had scheduled a details phone call 3 weeks before the wedding and our event coordinator never joined the call. She apparently was called into another meeting but was too busy to communicate this to us. This was one of the many examples of their poor communication and lack of professionalism. Do not get married here

I wanted to share how wonderful our daughter's wedding reception was at the Pen Ryn Mansion on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Not only was the venue spectacular- the staff was attentive to every detail and our guests had nothing but positive comments about our reception. The food was delicious- from the Hors Dourves, main course to the desserts. We ended the perfect celebration with a sparkler send-off for our happy couple! We would highly recommend this venue.

The mansion was beautiful when we were married there. We received so many compliments on the estate itself as well as the food. I definitely recommend getting the “taste of Philly” station for the end of the night! We gave them out as our favors and everyone ate the cheesesteaks on the ride home. Debbie and Colin were very attentive the night of our wedding. We were married outside, but watch out for geese poop! I understand that it’s impossible to pick it all up but it was in the train of my dress. I was not impressed with the timeliness of communication from the team, but do understand there are other brides.

We were able to move our wedding from our original indoor plan, out to the River’s Edge venue for the reception. Guests raved about the beautiful venue as well as the best food they ever had at a wedding! Precautions were taken to keep everyone feeling safe during Covid. We are very grateful to Pen Ryn for our beautiful, memorable, and safe pandemic wedding!

We just had our wedding at the River’s Edge venue and it was AMAZING. The venue itself was beautiful and my husband and I could not have dreamed of a better location. The views were breathtaking and the lighting was impeccable. They had shuttles to escort guests to and from the parking lot and were always asking if guests needed anything. We are so happy we decided to have our wedding there. Our guests were taken back at the beauty of our ceremony and reception. The food was amazing & the staff was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire night. We were originally booked in the Belle Voir Manor but due to Covid we had to use the brand new River’s Edge venue and we are SO GLAD we decided to switch it to there!! I cannot thank the Pen Ryn staff enough.

The below are our personal opinions, the quotes are directly taken from emails from Pen Ryn Staff (including syntax errors). We disliked our experience with Pen Ryn. In May 2020, we asked about postponing our fall wedding and their plans for safely reopening. We were informed they were working in date order to reschedule & were repeatedly told if we wanted to reschedule, we’d lose all our deposits. Our parents requested a call with them to discuss potential options & safety concerns and were told “until we know what we can legally do, we are unable to answer many questions our hosts have as this time as government officials have not yet released updated pertaining specifically to our industry.” We were frustrated that they wouldn't have a call to even hear our concerns. When we pressed for any safety plans they were personally working on, they said “Unfortunately, our response cannot/will not change at this time.“On May 30th, they began allowing postponements with a few options. Due to personal reasons, we only had a few months in 2021 we could do. This left River’s Edge as our only option, which was yet to be constructed & would require us to sign a new contract sight unseen. Since we were postponing, they were charging 10% more. The new venue was a tent, they described “patio pavers” as flooring and “professional restroom trailer” and plastic windows. River’s Edge was a total of 1,600 square feet smaller than Belle Voir (initial venue). We asked if it would still cost 10% more with a size decrease and the drop in elegance from a ballroom to patio floors and trailer bathrooms. We were told “We are not able to provide any discount as if River's Edge as we do not provide a discount for Pen Ryn Mansion being smaller.” We specifically chose Belle Voir over the Mansion because it was bigger. We also had concerns about accessibility. The River’s Edge description said “Handicap guests may be driven directly to the venue entrance”. We hired an accessible shuttle and asked if it could drive to the entrance and were told “The bus would be dropping guests off in our parking area for River's Edge. For any handicap guests who are using the hotel shuttle, they would be able to take a golf cart….” That put us in the awkward situation of explaining that our handicap guests were quadriplegic and couldn’t take a golf cart. We understood the area was not big enough for a shuttle, but this made us worried about trusting the accessibility without getting to see the venue. When we signed our contract, we had an extra bar added for $350. They later sent an updated contract with menu selections and asked for approval. We noticed they added $175 for an extra bartender. When we asked, they said an extra bartender was needed for various reasons. We understood the reasons but it should have been added on the original contract. We were worried that extra charges were subtly being added after we had signed. We booked another venue as a back up but hoped October at Pen Ryn would still work. We made a comment in a Facebook group that we don’t recommend Pen Ryn and that we’d rebooked. Staff screenshot the comment and sent it to us asking if we were cancelling. It felt very violating and uncomfortable.We would not recommend Pen Ryn. As seen in the quotes above, their communication was often hard to understand, adding to the frustration. Due to our negative experiences, we cancelled. Per their contract, we were not refunded any of our $16,000 in deposits.

My husband and I got married in October at the Mansion, and we could not have asked for a better place to have our reception! Having the entire waterfront side of Pen Ryn Estate to ourselves the entire day was a major plus in making us feel so special on our big day. The sunny weather complimented the beautiful landscaping in front of the mansion for amazing photos. The library room for cocktail hour added historic charm to our vintage wedding style (also a great backdrop for photos). Although the rest of the building has a rustic appearance, the ballroom gives off a more modern and elegant impression. Besides its physical beauty, many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was especially the endless hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour (I wish I could've eaten more). As the bride, groom, or immediate families of the couple, be sure to receive amazing service from the staff who treat you like royalty for the day. On top of that, the staff were able to accommodate so well to some of our guests who showed up too early - they began cocktail hour earlier to make it easier on us.

We had an amazing experience with Pen Ryn Estate! Our wedding was at the Belle Voir and it couldn't have been more perfect. They were very responsive to any questions we had and walked us through each step of the way. The food tasting experience was excellent and the food tasted even better on the wedding day! The guests had only positive things to say about dinner. The cocktail hour food was endless with three food stations and 20 plus hors d'oeuvres. As the bride and groom, we were never empty handed. They even laid out an appetizer plate for us in the bridal suite so that we were able to socialize with our guests and still taste the food. The timeline of the day ran smoothly and the maitre'd did an excellent job coordinating the vendors and itinerary for the evening. We would easily choose Pen Ryn all over again. We highly recommend this venue!

We had our wedding at Pen Ryn (Belle Voir) this past September. The venue and the surrounding grounds are beautiful! The event team at Pen Ryn was easy to work with. When my Dad was unexpectedly hospitalized in the midst of wedding planning, Pen Ryn was very supportive. There were so many unknowns and we were not sure if he would be well enough to attend our food tasting. The event team was very accommodating and allowed us to add him last minute. Communication was both clear and timely. We did have some issues regarding pricing in our contract (e.g. we were quoted one price for transportation/napkins, but then the price changed in the contract), but Pen Ryn quickly rectified the information after we brought it to their attention. The event team did a fantastic job to make sure our wedding day ran smoothly. It unexpectedly showered right before our ceremony and we had already committed to having it outside. Pen Ryn brought our guests inside and worked quickly to dry off the chairs. Luckily we had a break in the weather and we were able to still have the ceremony outside! Every staff member from the bartenders to chefs were so professional and friendly. We received so many compliments from our guests regarding Pen Ryn. A special shout out to Judy, our bridal attendant who made sure my husband and I were well fed and never had an empty drink; and to Ashley, who was a huge proponent in making sure our wedding day was perfect! Thank you again for everything!

Pen Ryn is what dreams are made of for a wedding venue! The moment we pulled into the driveway and pulled around to the mansion in front of the river we fell in LOVE. But the dream did not stop there. Every staff member on the Pen Ryn team went above and beyond for my husband and I. Colin and Ashley were a pleasure to plan with, working with every request I had and answered my endless questions with care and ease. Judy and her staff were angels on the big day- anticipating all of my needs, my husband's needs, and even looking after my parents'/bridal party's needs. Their set up and tear down was impeccably perfect. I knew the mansion would blow away my guests, but I could not have been more pleased with the food, the staff, and the overall experience. My husband and I are SO incredibly happy we chose Pen Ryn. Now all we have to wait for is to get back the pictures we took on the gorgeous property and relive the day all over again!

The view of the Delaware river and the timeless atmosphere of the mansion were just the vibe we were looking for. The event team were so helpful with the entire planning process and were so patient with all of our questions and special requests. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our wedding coordinator, Ashley, was so helpful and kind and she made us feel so special. The whole team at Pen Ryn made it such a memorable day for us and we wouldn't have done anything differently. We would highly recommend Pen Ryn Estate for your wedding!

We got married on 9/7/2019 at Pen Ryn Estate and I wish we could do it all over again! We had quite a long engagement (2 years!) and the Pen Ryn staff was ALWAYS so responsive and helpful during the time leading up to the wedding. They were extremely friendly and easy to correspond with and made the out-of-state wedding planning process a breeze. When our wedding day finally arrived, we were treated like royalty. Ashley and the entire staff was phenomenal. She had everything under control and had a plan for anything and everything. It was so nice to be able to focus on enjoying the day knowing all the details of the event were covered. The venue is so beautiful and nothing beats that view from the mansion. We HIGHLY recommend this venue & staff to anyone searching! Thanks again to Ashely, Pen Ryn & the entire staff! You all helped make our wedding day a day we will never forget!

We got married at the Pen Ryn Mansion and we couldn’t be more grateful that we chose the Pen Ryn as our location. The venue is stunning, unique and special. This was the first venue we had looked at in person, and after completing only half our list of venues to see, we decided nothing would compare to the Pen Ryn and stopped looking. All of our guests were impressed with how beautiful the wedding was. But the people we worked with really helped the day go off without a hitch!Leading up to the big day, we spoke with both Ashley and Colin, who were sure to answer all of our questions and make everything we wanted possible. Their responses were always quick and whatever our request or problem was, they’d do what was possible to make sure our day was perfect. When I made it known to Ashley that I was disappointed that there wasn’t a mac-and-cheese bar, they added the pasta to their preexisting mashed potato bar to make it happen. When, two days before the wedding, I told Colin I was nervous about my 96-year-old grandfather lasting the whole night, he brought a comfy chair down into a private room so my grandfather could have somewhere comfortable and quiet to take a nap if he needed a break. Since we got married mid-September, we were unsure how the weather would be. We were told that if it was a little chilly, they’d put complimentary heaters on the patio for us. If it was still hot, they’d provide us with a complimentary water station for the outside ceremony. These were decisions we could make that day. We were also told that if the weather was iffy with the possibility of rain, they only needed two hours to move everything inside, as opposed to other venues that said they’d need to know the day before. Their flexibility was invaluable.Ashley was our day-of coordinator and we couldn’t have been happier! Her enthusiasm and love of her job is radiant. During our drop off appointment, I was so stressed and overwhelmed but when Ashley was all giddy and energetic, it made me feel that way too. She was thorough reviewing all of our decorations and instructions to make sure the day would go off without a hitch – which it did! In fact, when we did a walkthrough of the room, it looked better than we had envisioned! She added a few extra items that they had at the Pen Ryn that we hadn’t thought about. Our expectations were truly exceeded on every level. We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to have the Pen Ryn as our venue and the Pen Ryn staff working with on our big day!

My husband & I got married on August 9th, 2019 at the Pen Ryn Mansion. We had the most AMAZING experience & it’s all thanks to the WONDERFUL staff at The Pen Ryn Estate! From beginning to end, we were given pristine service & the staff had always been professional. When you think about everything that goes into a wedding – Pen Ryn has it all! Best food, views, drinks, staff – it’s all there!As the wedding got closer, the Event Team & I went back & forth with emails. I found myself apologizing for constantly emailing & being indecisive. I remember Colin telling me to never apologize & this is their job – understanding we are indecisive because it’s the most important day of our lives and making it perfect. They didn’t meet our expectations, they exceeded them! The moment my HB & I arrived, Colin (so helpful to us throughout the entire process) met to congratulate us on our marriage! We were an hr late because our trolley broke down & pushed back the timeline. Colin assured me that it’s going to be the best night ever. It was so refreshing to have Colin there & tell us that everything was going to be great. The Event Team truly makes you feel confident on your decision to have your wedding at their estate. Once we arrived & were greeted by Colin, he introduced us to Shauna (event coordinator) & Debbie (Maitre D’) who were both so kind & welcoming! Debbie got us drinks from the beginning & was around making sure we had everything we needed. Shauna & Colin also helped bustle my dress! Because the trolley broke down, we would all miss the cocktail hr because of pictures. Shauna & Colin offered to extend cocktail hr so that we could be there for it. That was very nice & shows how flexible they are when things don’t go as planned! The reception was incredible & everything was perfect! They took our food & heated it up when we got distracted. That way it would be hot when we sat down to eat it! Once the night was over, Shauna helped pack up our things. The food, grounds, drinks, EVERYTHING was top notch! The staff made sure to set some food from cocktail hr at our sweetheart table - it was delicious. The Stir Fry station was empty before cocktail hour was over, but the food was replenished to serve more guests! Butlered waiters came around multiple times with the Hors D’Oeurves. My HB & I really liked our entrees & were sad that our food didn’t get refrigerated overnight (our fault). We didn't get a chance to eat our cake either (our fault too – too much partying! Staff did set it out for us. We just didn’t sit to eat it, so they packed that up too). The desserts were so delicious – we had many leftovers, & those were the best cannolis I’ve ever had! People have commented on how well the bar area was run by the bartenders - making great quality drinks & people were attended to in a timely manner. People thought the grounds were stunning. Pen Ryn Estate is truly the best wedding venue & the Event Team is incredible! From the scheduled tour, to food tasting, to final details phone call with Ashley (who is so sweet & hardworking), & to the drop off appointment with Colin (helping my mom & I carry everything in & answering all our questions). They’re easy to work with & will help you & your spouse have the wedding of your dreams. Thank you to the Event Team at Pen Ryn, we owe it all to you! If you are thinking of scheduling a tour with Pen Ryn, do it! Perry & I give Pen Ryn’s staff, food, venue, drinks, overall experience 5 stars!

We HIGHLY recommend Pen Ryn Estate!!!! We cannot begin to thank Pen Ryn Estate enough for helping make our wedding day better than we could have ever imagined. We were blown away with how incredible the entire staff was. From the very beginning of the process we experienced nothing but professionalism, helpfulness, and efficiency. This continued throughout our months of planning. Everyone was attentive, friendly, professional, and so organized! On the day of the wedding, I remember when I first walked in to the ballroom when I arrived at Belle Voir. I screamed! I was so overjoyed with how perfect the set up was, and how beautiful everything looked. The staff decorated and put all of my visions exactly in to place, and I am just so extremely thankful. Throughout the entire night, we felt so stress-free, and we are so thankful to Colin and James for that. They made sure everything went just perfect for us, and I know that we don’t know all that goes on behind the scenes, but whatever it is - these guys are doing it right! As the bride and groom, we felt so taken care of and throughout the night we kept finding ourselves say to one another how incredible the staff was and what a wonderful job they were doing. We are still receiving comments from our family and friends about how beautiful the venue was, how delicious the food was and how impressed they were with all of the options, and how attentive and efficient the staff was. I have been telling every engaged couple I meet/know to check out PRE. It was the best day of our lives, and we owe a huge thanks to the Pen Ryn Events Team for making that happen for us!

We are so happy to have found Pen Ryn Estate. We chose to get married at the Belle Voir Manor about 1 year prior to the wedding, and it was perfect. The Pen Ryn team made it exceptionally easy to make all of our wedding dreams come true. Everything could not have been possible without Jim, our wonderful day-of coordinator. What honestly could have been a very stressful time was relatively stress free for us. He was right by our side, and our bridal party's side, the entire day, and was there to answer any questions and was so thoughtful in getting us drinks, finding people for pictures, and anything else we could have needed or wanted. Everything truly went as planned. We received so many compliments from our guests, we know this could not have been possible without all of the wonderful staff. We truly are so thankful and glad we chose Pen Ryn Estate/Belle Voir Manor for our wedding venue. We will cherish that day forever.

This is a beautiful venue, but the staff of Pen Ryn are what set this venue above the rest. Very receptive to all my emails and questions leading up to the wedding. All the day of staff were fabulous, especially our bridal attendant Renee! She made sure we had everything we needed from the time we stepped on to the property until we left at the end of the night. They made sure our day ran perfectly with the least amount of stress. Couldn’t recommend this venue more!

I can't say enough about how amazing Pen Ryn Estate is! Pen Ryn was the first and last wedding venue we visited. I was immediately sold with the beautiful grounds, two lovely venues to choose from and extremely friendly and helpful staff! My husband and I got married on July 4, 2019 at the Belle Voir Manor and just had the most perfect day! Everything went off without a hitch and was absolutely beautiful! The food was amazing, everything was set up exactly how I pictured, and the night ended with an awesome sparkler send off! What really made the day even more easy and perfect was the incredible staff! Shauna was so helpful and just so friendly and easy going! She was even super understanding and flexible when I locked my keys in my car on the day of my drop off appointment and was super late! THANK YOU! I was over the moon that she would be the one also taking care of us on the day of the wedding! Jim is another amazing staff member and he seemed to know what I needed before I even did! I definitely felt like royalty as he continuously brought me and my husband fresh cold drinks and even turned me on to my new favorite drink! Jim you are amazing and my family and bridal party can't stop talking about how awesome you are! Thank you so much to Pen Ryn Estates, especially Jim and Shauna, for making my wedding day perfect and day to remember!!! Don't hesitate to book your wedding at Pen Ryn Estate! You will not be disappointed!

I was recently at a wedding on the Fourth of July and it was a disaster from start to finish. The venue was an hour late picking up the bride, only after the groom mentioned something did the venue say they were behind due to another wedding. The staff was rude to the bride and groom, the were nasty to the photographer whose plate was paid for by the bride and groom and SHE NEVER GOT IT. I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone!

Pen Ryn was an amazing venue! What made our experience extra amazing was the staff. They can and will do just about anything to make sure your day is perfect. We worked with Colin to set up everything for the big day. He was constantly available and didn't miss a single detail. Also the bridal packet and planning timeline is very thorough, I immediately knew our wedding day was in good hands. On the actual day of the ceremony we were paired with Jim (captain) and Robert (maitre'd). They did a wonderful job. Jim personally made me feel that everything was under control. He was constantly checking in, making sure we had food, were hydrated, and most importantly having a good time. He also went out of his way to try to help my bridesmaids bustle my dress. I can't imagine a better staff. And the food was FABULOUS! We went to the tasting a few months before our wedding and the food was good, but they day of it was 100x better. I'd recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for making our day wonderful.

Pen Ryn - I don't even know where to start. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who made our wedding truly a dream come true. Ashley, Debbie, Jim, Colin, the whole team was fabulous. The property the day of the wedding was swept, fountains cleaned, floors shiny, spotless! The grounds were nicely groomed, and the staff made sure no one was walking or sitting near the river during the ceremony - which was greatly appreciated. The staff was on top of my husband and my needs - quick to provide us with snacks, food, drinks, etc. throughout the day and were always making sure we were calm and comfortable. The appetizers, salads, main courses, and dessert all came out on time, were perfect temperature and tasted fabulous. The whole day ran on schedule, and neither of us worried about a thing. I could go on and on but ultimately, if you are considering having a wedding at Pen Ryn - do it - you will not regret it. Pen Ryn Estate is beautiful!! Loved every second of working with their team. Loved that we had the option to choose the mansion or the manor. We chose Belle Voir Manor. Both buildings are gorgeous, which made for a tough decision. The team at Pen Ryn made wedding planning fun and easy! Anything I had difficulty with, they were willing to help. Colin is amazing! He is the best! All the food and drinks were delicious! For having such a large wedding and the majority of our guests choosing filet mignon, it was cooked perfect! I would work with Pen Ryn again in the future.

My husband and I married at the Pen Ryn Mansion on June 14, 2019. Our experience was amazing! Ashley was our event manager. She was so kind, easy going and charismatic. She was very helpful in my planning process; any questions I had, she had an answer. Debbie was my Maître' D. She was quick and got things done correctly and seamlessly. Jim was my captain & I couldn't have done it without him! He was right by my side through the whole event and always made sure we were ok. Needless to say, I always had a drink in my hand. On top of that, he made sure the parents and bridal party always had what they needed. Pen Ryn is beautiful and the staff added to that experience. There are so many options to truly personalize your wedding here. The food was absolutely delicious and they even packed up our dinners because we didn't eat them. The feedback I received from my guests have been nothing, but \"the best wedding ever!\" We cannot recommend this venue enough! Thank you Pen Ryn for creating the most spectacular and wonderful night of our lives!

As soon as we checked out Pen Ryn, we fell in love with the old mansion. The grounds are breathtaking. We definitely chose correctly— the wedding was beautiful! All of our guests were raving about how beautiful the venue was. The food was also impeccable, we got a lot of compliments on the filet and mashed potato station. Our outdoor ceremony was everything we could have hoped for. Only issue we had is for the rehearsal, the roads all around Pen Ryn flash flooded, to the point that many of us (including myself, the bride) couldn’t make it to the venue. If this had happened on our wedding day, it would have been horrendous. Luckily the actual wedding day was sunny and no one had issues getting there. Just an FYI for when you book!

Pen Ryn Mansion hosted the wedding of my daughter's dreams on Saturday. The staff was so well organized and attentive! The detailed Bridal Packet helps you make and focus on the million big and little decisions that have to be made to host an event for over 200 guests; but that advance \"battle planning\" means that the wedding day is just pure delight for the wedding party, their parents and the guests. We were blessed with beautiful weather, but I would have been happy to be stuck inside the mansion on a stormy day since the food was plentiful and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. And the dance floor was big enough for the non-stop dance party celebration that my daughter and son-in-law (and their wild and crazy friends and cousins!) wanted. The architectural details and scale of the Mansion are such that you don't need to spend a lot on floral decorations. No need to gild the lily! A special shout out to Colin, Robert and Jim for being so professional and attentive to details while being just warm and lovely people!

First of all the venue itself is stunning. We had our ceremony and reception in the Belle Voir. The afternoon light through the walls of windows is magical. The venue has a simple elegance with the backdrop of natural beauty, with a view of the Delaware River from the venue. The staff was wonderful and supportive. The day of team helped to make things run smoothly and checked in constantly to make sure we were doing ok. They were readily available by email and phone when I called. There were a few small miscommunications here and there, but nothing that wasn't resolved by a phone call/email. Our wedding had some different elements and they were flexible in helping to make things work the way we wanted. They worked with our vendors and the day ran really smoothly. An extra special shoutout to chef Joel. From the time that we met him at the tasting he was awesome. He came over and chatted and took the time to give us menu alternatives that accommodated our tastes. He worked with us with our dietary requirements including Halal, Vegan, and other food allergies. He is creative and thoughtful, and really sealed the deal that this was the venue for us. The food was amazing, from the cocktail hour, to the entree to the dessert. He even worked with us to offer Baklava as a dessert option, for our Middle Eastern wedding. This venue fit within our budget without sacrificing quality. Thank you for making it amazing.

What a wonderful wedding I had because of Pen Ryn! We got married on April 6th in the Belle Voir Manor. After looking at about 15 venues, Belle Voir was actually the last venue we went to and as soon as we left we knew that's where we wanted to get married! The ceremony layout outside is so pretty! The cocktail hour room is so spacious! The Ballroom was recently redone with hardwood floors and new neutral drapery which makes it so much better to match any decor you chose! We had about 150 guests and they fit perfectly in the ballroom - no cramming tables or chairs in to make room. Plenty of room to dance, walk around and socialize with everyone! And even our big bubble photobooth fit great right in the corner! We had about 16 months to plan and during that time, there was a bit of turn over with the event team, but everyone we met with, emailed, or called was very helpful! I made a few adjustments to the package we picked (probably more than a few by the end lol) and they handled everything professionally throughout the whole process and I was never told \"we can't do that\"! Jenna, Ashley, Colin, Bridget and everyone else part of the team was great! My guests still talk about how great the food was, cocktail, buffet and dessert! We opted for buffet to give guests more of a choice in food and it worked out well! The staff catered to me and my husband with food and drinks and night! They were quick and efficient too - guests had a few spills and they were there in seconds cleaning it up! The day after, both of our immediate families went through the day talking things over and we really tried to think of one negative thing and no one could think of anything!! It was just all so perfect! Oh, and did I mention the fireworks??! Absolutely amazing show!! Do yourself and favor, leave the stress behind and book with Pen Ryn - you will not be disappointed! I can't stress enough how easy they made this whole process!

We had our wedding reception at the Belle Voir Manor on April 13, 2019, and it was perfect! We had looked at a handful of wedding venues, but ultimately picked Belle Voir because of the beautiful cocktail hour room and spacious ballroom that would comfortably seat all of our guests, coupled with an affordable price. There was some turnover at Pen Ryn during our 15 month planning process, but we always felt comfortable reaching out to the team at Pen Ryn. We always received prompt replies and the team was happy to answer any questions we had. Ashley was the manager for our wedding, and she was an absolute delight to work with. We met her during our drop off appointment a couple days before the wedding, and she was so personable and truly excited to make our wedding as perfect as possible. When we arrived at the venue for the reception, she and the staff had set up all our decorations and items beautifully, and we received so many compliments on how nice everything looked. We were so thankful to have Ashley there! The entire staff at the wedding was amazing - completely professional, but very helpful whenever a guest needed something. My husband and I had multiple servers providing us with food and drinks throughout the evening, which helped us save time for dancing and chatting with guests! Judy was our main maitre d, and she was amazing! She was always readily available and knew what to bring us before we even had to ask. We were so thrilled with our experience at Belle Voir, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

I cannot say enough good things about Pen Ryn and the people who worked there to help make my wedding day so beautiful and special! From the day we met Jenna at our tasting I knew we were in good hands! She went over every single detail with us and made sure everything we asked for was also written down on the contract. Ashley ended up taking over when Jenna went on maternity leave and she met all of the requests that we had discussed with Jenna perfectly. The two of them are so attentive and caring, they respond to emails within hours, and you can tell they really love what they do! It was so easy with them both! On the day of our wedding, my husband and I had the best bridal attendant James who made sure we had food, drink, and even brought a little sample of hors d’oeuvres up to our bridal suite where we decided to take a few minutes to ourselves right after our ceremony. The food was outstanding, we upgraded a few of the items at cocktail hour which I highly recommend. Luckily, without upgrading, you still get more options than any other venue we had visited. People are still raving about the food to us! Everyone loved the hibachi station, sushi station, and the mashed potato bar! The room was gorgeous as well, they redid Bell voir feb 2018 and the floors are just gorgeous. James, Jenna, Ashley and JP made this night beyond perfect with their service, the night went so smoothly that if I could recommend any venue at all I would 110% recommend Bell voir manor or Pen Ryn just because of the staff.

I got married at Pen Ryn (Belle Voir Manor) on September 22, 2018 and can't say anything but amazing things about Pen Ryn and all of the staff! We worked mainly with Jenna and Bridget and they both made sure every need was being met at all times, with the planning leading up to the wedding and on the actual day itself. Any email I sent to them was responded to within a day, sometimes even hours. Any last minute requests that I felt like I was being a nuisance about, they responded happily to fulfill our requests. On the day of the wedding, the staff made not only the bride and groom, but also the parents of the bride/groom feel so special and that their #1 priority was making sure our wedding day was as perfect as it could possibly be! I had a mishap with my bustle and Shauna was there in no time to provide us assistance. The staff was truly beyond wonderful! As far the venue itself, the grounds are stunning and picture-perfect. I couldn't be happier with how our pictures turned out, it is such a beautiful setting! The guests raved and raved about how elegant of a venue it is and how delicious the food was. I just wish we could re-live the day all over again, it was beyond perfect!

While Pen Ryn had a staffing change between the time we signed our contract and our wedding date, we had nothing but a fantastic experience!! Bridget, Jenna, and Shauna were beyond helpful both during the prep for the wedding and on our day. I was so impressed upon arriving to Belle Voir just before cocktail hour with how beautiful it looked. It exceeded any expectations I had, and everything was flawless! Truly an A+ team, and beautiful venue! Can't wait to get our pictures back!

i visited the pen ryn estate for my cousins wedding last weekend and i was very impressed all around. ive been to plenty of weddings and had horrible wait staff and overall a bad night but at pen ryn this was not the case!! my water was never empty, my familys dinners were amazing and that mini desert station...delicious 😍. my servers name was bridget i believe and she was constantly checking in making sure we were okay. the md was also named bridget i think and she was constantly running around doing everything for my cousin and she left the happiest bride ever!!! i would totally recommend having events here!!!!!

My husband and I had our wedding at the mansion and we instantly fell in love with the place. This was the 3rd place we looked at when searching for venues outside of the city and close enough to northeast philly. Not only was it beautiful inside and out, the staff, the pricing, and the organizing of the event was something to also brag about. It was a great location for us because we wanted a place that had a nice garden for an outside ceremony and plenty of parking. They also worked with what fit in our budget which was GREAT!! We honestly did have some difficulties in the beginning when we were trying to reach out to Pen Ryn but Jenna stepped in and assured us that everything was on schedule. I do have to say that Pen Ryn Estate keeps their wedding couples very organized, from the seating chart to dropping off all the materials before the wedding to walking out the door with packed up boxes of desserts. We couldn't have picked a better venue to have our wedding! And hands down, Jenna is an amazing person at Pen Ryn Estate!! Great, hardworking person to work with, passionate, and awesome personality!

I would just like to say that the Pen Ryn Estate was awesome. From the grounds, to the venue, the food, and most especially the Staff. We had Bridget who I cannot say enough about, she was the greatest. We had our wedding on November 3rd and anything we needed or asked for was not a problem. They let me, the Mother of the Groom, and the Mother of the Bride in early so we could see the place by ourselves with out interruption. They catered to every need for the bride and groom down to putting every hors d'oeuvres on their table for them since they were so busy greeting their guests. I highly recommend the Pen Ryn Estates for your wedding!!!

The venue itself is beautiful. Such a unique place overlooking the river. The house has such cool features and the ballroom had more than enough space. We can't say enough about the staff - specifically Jenna. She was extremely proactive throughout the planning process and really went above and beyond to make it a special day for us. This was our first visit to the Pen Ryn Estate, the place was magnificent. However, the staff is was did it, like to point out Lauren, she was awesome. She and the entire staff made our night one to remember, we could not want for anything, they made sure we always had what we needed right up to the end of our night. A great experience and a place I would surely recommend to anyone!!!!!!! Oh by the way, we were just guests at the wedding, can't imagine how they treated the bridal party, they treated us like it was our wedding. Great Job by all!!!!

I got married at Belle voir manor in March 2018 and had a horrible experience. They changed my wedding planned two times with very little communication. My first wedding planner told me i could bring food from an outside vendor for our favor/ end of the night snack no problem... then three weeks before my wedding someone else told me this was not allowed. I was the furthest thing from a bridezilla... but the lack of support i got from Pen Ryn brought me to tears. On the day of my drop off appointment i got all of my belongings there in perfect condition. I had three small chalkboards which i got professionally done with messages on them. On the day of my wedding they were all smeared- not just a little bit, it actually looked like someone tried to erase them. The bathrooms had tacky signs hung on the doors in the ladies room \"do not flush sanitary products or toilets will flood....party will be OVER\". I was so embarrassed to have my guests see those signs. Also, the food is horrible.If you're thinking of getting married here.... DONT! The only reason i did not give 1 star was because my first 2 wedding planners were nice girls. I just think the whole place is poorly managed.

It all started out great when we booked the venue in June 2017 and Megan Smith was running the show. Unfortunately she left and Jenna took over. Emails went unanswered, phone calls went unreturned and the new management staff failed to inform us that some changes we made or requests became 'upgrades' and that we'd be charged ~ this happened five (5) days before the wedding. The fact that Megan had made us promises meant nothing! At this juncture there was nothing we could do. We asked to speak with the management, who is Shawna Cooper ... needless to say ~ she is the most unprofessional 'manager' we have EVER dealt with. Nasty and rude to say the least not to mention her continuous lies. Just a quick one ~ she owns Pen Ryn Estate. I'm hoping that the owner of Pen Ryn does read this, as I'm trying to get in touch with him/her. I will admit that the affair was in all aspects, beautiful, and the food was good. I attribute this to the chef, our florist and DJ. My guests are still raving about the cocktail hour. However, buyer beware DO NOT UPGRADE TO THE TASTE OF PHILLY!!! This is a huge rip-off as they only provided us with approximately 36 Tastykakes, 10 bottles of Hanks Rootbeer, 24 packs of Peanut Chews and a basket of about 50 pretzels ~ this was for 171 guests!!! Taste of Philly Station was a DISGRACE! AND ... DO NOT ORDER SPECIAL MEALS ... as they were never given to the few guests who required them and these guests went without dinner. When my few guests alerted the server the requests went ignored! Shawna's response was, ' the guest should've flagged down the manager' at the affair.' Needless to say, Shawna refuses to reimburse us for the meals that our guests never received. Sadly, a wedding day comes once in a lifetime (hopefully) and Shawna Cooper had ruined this for our bride and family!!! A quick note, that in the year and 1/2 of planning my daughter's wedding, the bride never shed one tear about anything until we met with Shawna!!! Shame on her and Pen Ryn for allowing her to represent them.

Pen Ryn was absolutely AMAZING! We had our wedding at the Belle Voir Manor and not only was it beautiful, the staff was phenominal! As soon as my husband and I stepped foot into this venue, we knew it was exactly what we wanted. From the first day we saw the venue up until our wedding day, Bridget and Jenna were always there for us with any questions or concerns we had. We even had some last minute questions and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our special day. We also had a memory tree and some special decor that we asked to be set up, and when we walked in it was EXACTLY like we imagined! During our wedding we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The statf completely took over and made sure everyone was having a great time. The whole night went so smoothly! They treated us like a king and queen! If we could do it all again, we would without a doubt choose Pen Ryn. Thank you!!!!

A FEW WARNINGS ABOUT THIS VENUE:I wouldn’t book an on-site ceremony! 1. If you are getting married on site, please, please, please read the contract and speak to them about your REHEARSAL. It was not talked over with me prior to signing and it’s not something I thought about when signing on, but it is in small print in the contract. THEY ARE UNABLE TO CONFIRM REHEARSALS UNLESS YOU BOOK TO HAVE YOUR REHEARSAL DINNER WITH THEM. I had my rehearsal set for Thursday before my Saturday wedding, and they called me less than a week before to let me know that they booked “another event” and we could not rehearse there on Thursday evening anymore and also asked to bump our scheduled DROP OFF APPOINTMENT to 8:00 p.m., as opposed to 5:30, as if they weren’t in the wedding industry and didn’t understand that DINNERS ARE COMMONLY BOOKED WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME. Mind blowing, honestly. They didn’t give any options besides “we can rehearse the day of without the THE BRIDE. She doesn’t need to be there.” My fiancé asked if we could at least rehearse at their other site, and they accommodated us, but that was his idea, and we didn’t get to rehearse at our actual venue. If you can work this out before signing a contract, I advise you to do so. It’s something that wasn’t on my mind a year before the wedding, and it may not be on yours either, so I would like to save some brides the headache later.2. Also, if you are getting married on site: Being a new bride, it’s sometimes hard to understand time lines of weddings, ETC. This venue does not allow enough time in their contract to arrive and take pictures before the ceremony. Guests were arriving during our first look. We were told we were too loud when we were taking pictures and told to be quiet because the other wedding was currently going on. Pictures felt rushed and it was very hectic prior to my ceremony. I would suggest, BEFORE SIGNING THE CONTRACT, negotiating an earlier arrival time for the bridal party. Once again, it is in the contract but something you may not think about in the beginning of wedding planning if you aren’t thinking about timelines a year prior to your wedding. Maybe most brides are but I wasn’t there yet.3. Apparently they can input your wrong email and you may miss important information including but not limited to: billing, food tastings, final details. They dropped the ball on all categories for me, forgot to bill us for our pay period and tried to double us up because they missed billing. They also forgot to send us the emails about the food tasting. I found out about this because I knew other couples getting married after me who had received emails and had scheduled and/or already had their food tastings and later final details, yet I never received information about when they were/signing up. When I called, I received nothing but rude responses and weird explanations and NO RESOLUTIONS until finally they realized my email was input wrong into the system and then they decided to work with me on getting these things scheduled. It was weird. I just wanted to schedule my food tasting and they were extremely, extremely rude and treated me like a crazy bride and used the excuse that they please 350 OTHER BRIDES because they pump out weddings like Walmart and care more about numbers and booked events than individual brides. HAVE THEM READ BACK YOUR EMAIL INFORMATION TO YOU AND DOUBLECHECK IT WITH THEM. All of that being said, the staff the day of were amazing. After the ceremony, the event staff really shine. I had THE BEST server all night who made me, the groom and our parents feel like royalty. They had our signature drinks ready for us and guests right outside after walking down the aisle. They had a sparkler send off for me even though I forgot to bring my own sparklers and buckets. They brought a plate of all hors d'oeuvres to our sweethearts table, as the bride and groom generally miss these due to mingling during the cocktail hour. I had amazing night and wish the struggle leading up to it wasn’t so tough so I wouldn’t have been as stressed as I was prior to the ceremony.

Pen Ryn was great to work with for our wedding in August 2018. They were flexible with us in scheduling our tastings and helping us prepare for the big day, especially since we were planning from out of state. Plus, the venue is absolutely gorgeous, and great for large weddings. We were able to have a beautiful ceremony overlooking the waterfront and a lovely, fun reception in the mansion’s ballroom.The bridal suite was also great and is worth mentioning because our wedding party spent some time there before and during the events -- it was lovely and the staff were so great about being attentive to us and making sure we had food and beverages.We appreciated Pen Ryn’s flexibility in trying to accommodate our West African recipes. While specialty caterers for certain ethnic foods are not allowed, Pen Ryn worked with us to incorporate other cultural elements of the meal that we were able to fold into the event, so we thank them for that flexibility. In general, you can tell that the team works hard to make each wedding unique and special, and to accommodate each married couple's wishes. You will definitely feel very special on your wedding day!Overall, I would definitely recommend Pen Ryn and their gorgeous, magical venue.

When my now husband and I first set foot on Pen Ryn Estate, we were awestruck by the grounds and the views of the river. I had been researching venues, and when we found Belle Voir Manor, it was meant to be. We loved the cocktail hour room with it's large ceilings and beautiful architecture. We loved the ballroom complete with huge dance floor. I envisioned using both patios for when people wanted to go outside and get a quick view. I always wanted an indoor/outdoor feel, and being that our wedding was in July, we wanted people to be free to go outside. We opted for an outdoor ceremony onsite, and it was truly magical.Now, let me tell you about the wonderful staff, and why you would be mistaken to not go with this site. We started our journey with Megan who helped make our Belle Voir dream a reality. She led us most of the way, but did end up leaving Belle Voir during our planning. Not to worry though, we were quickly swept off our feet by both Jenna and Bridget. They put to task making our day as special as we could have ever imagined. The staff is attentive, and listens to all of your desires, while also being realistic of what it will look like the day of. Jenna was our maitre-de the day of the wedding, and she took care of everything. Our guests have stated that it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. The food was delicious, with many hors d'oeuvres to choose from and amazing entrees. Guests were never left waiting for what was next. It was just really fantastic. With our vendors and the amazing Pen Ryn staff leading the way, I truly felt like we had made the right choice and I will spend so much time reliving all of my favorite parts of that day. Thank you Pen Ryn for making us the happiest couple, and making our day one that we will remember for a lifetime! -Lindsay and Eric

I literally can't say enough good things about Pen Ryn and their event team. We had our wedding at the mansion on 6/29/18 and everything was so beautiful and went so smoothly. We booked our wedding with Megan, who was very professional and friendly. While the venue practically sells itself, it was the personal attention and expertise of Megan that really won us over at the start.As the wedding date approached, we began working with Bridget and Jenna, who were also very helpful and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and guided me to make sure that our wedding day went as smoothly as possible. And, it did!On the day of the wedding, we worked with Bridget, who was always there to quarterback the event and let everyone in the wedding party know where they should be and what they should be doing. She was especially great with our young flower girl and ring bearer, explaining to them what to do when walking down the aisle and putting them at ease. During the reception, she worked with the DJ to coordinate all the special moments (parent dances, cake cutting, etc.) to make sure they happened as planned too.The service we received as the wedding couple was also outstanding. Our bridal server was very attentive, making sure we always had food and drinks. I wish I wrote down his name, but I believe it began with a T. The food was outstanding too, and all of our guests raved about it.The location is also so, so beautiful. My husband and I loved the historic aspect of the estate and also that it looks out on the Delaware River. It was also very convenient for our guests, mostly from Philadelphia and Bucks County. We talked to so many other people who either had their wedding or their child's wedding there, or who went to a wedding there, and not one person had anything bad to say about Pen Ryn. We feel very lucky to have such a beautiful venue nearby, and that they had a top-notch event team to help make our wedding a success. Thank you all!

Pen Ryn was a beautiful place to have my wedding. The food was excellent and Bridget was really wonderful on the day of. One of my bridesmaids fake eyelashes was coming off and she got us glue. She helped conduct the the whole event without a hitch. The cake was delicious and beautiful; however, I paid extra for a strawberry buttercream filling and it was just regular buttercream.
