Russo’s proudly announces our newest Wedding and Special Events venue in Cottleville, Missouri! The design concept of Piazza Messina is the perfect marriage of rustic and modern Tuscan décor in a beautiful natural setting. Piazza Messina includes an 8,000 + square feet of private event space situated on 14 ½ acres of agricultural land. Featuring a bistro, ballroom and both an indoor and outdoor bar, our venue overlooks a beautiful four-acre lake. One of the most unique features of Piazza Messina is the seamless transition from an indoor to outdoor setting, including a wraparound covered portico with a view of the lake.

Piazza Messina was a tremendous venue to host a wedding and reception. Our host, Emily Otto, worked with us and made sure all of our needs were met. She also helped us ensure that we could have a wedding safely during this time of Covid. The Russo family was also there to make sure we got whatever we needed. Their staff was polite and ready to serve. From rehearsal to tear down, these people catered to any and every need and want. Let’s not forget the food! Absolutely sensational. I’m normally not a fan of buffets, but they were on their game. The salads were cold, the meals were hot. From the bacon appetizer to the gooey butter dessert, guests have complimented us on the selection, the venue and the food. Wedding are meant to make a lifetime of memories. The Russo family and Piazza Messina are definitely responsible for ours. Cannot thank them and Emily Otto enough.

I can't recommend Piazza Messina enough! They made some of the more complicated parts of the wedding planning process simple and straightforward. I loved that Piazza Messina served as a one-stop-shop handling set-up, food, drinks, cake, some decorations, table linens, and clean-up - no need to hire and coordinate separate vendors for each. The venue and grounds are simply beautiful. The lake made a great photo spot for us and our guests, and we simply added some greenery and reused ceremony florals on the interior and it looked gorgeous with the lanterns provided! We had a mid-June wedding day with mild weather, so our guests loved the flexibility to spend time inside or enjoy the open air patio and bar areas throughout the evening. Even a couple months later, our guests are raving about the food and drinks, especially the hickory smoked pork roast! Thanks, Piazza Messina!

We could not have chosen a better venue! All the staff at the Piazza Messina were incredibly helpful, professional, and detail oriented on making this the most perfect day ever. Emily, was my venue coordinator, and she made sure that every detail was exactly as we had discussed! As a bridal party we utilized the bridal cottage for the women, which was beautiful, clean, and spacious for a large bridal party. We were able to accommodate for 27 hair and make up services that day with the help up 5 different artists! The gentlemen were more than happy with the grooms loft, as it too was clean, edgy, and provided accommodation for a large bridal party! Following suit, we did choose to use the company catering (RUSSO’s catering), as this was one of the largest factors in choosing this venue. Being a baseball family we chose to do stations for our dinner and has a first base, second base, third base, and home (dessert) stations. The food was presented well, stayed warm, and received many compliments throughout the night and the days following the wedding! In fact, many of our guests were trying to box up what was left to take home LOL! I could not have been happier with the decision we made to use the piazza as an all day venue! We chose to stay and never leave, despite the forecast predicting lots of rain! Have no fear, we had pictures that were inside the venue just as beautiful as the outside!! This place was a dream. We toured multiple venues before this and they all felt like a sales pitch. The Russos talked to us like normal people, having normal conversations with us while touring the property - Asking us where we worked, what we liked to do, all those things. No pressure at all. This was a no brainer for us.All of the employees that worked our wedding day were so kind and attentive. Not to mention the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough that the weather cooperated and we were able to get married outside, but the indoor option we were perfectly fine with as well. We were so happy to lock down this place as we are not \"crafty\" as most wedding couples. We added next to nothing regarding our own decor, but thise place is so beautiful on its own that really nothing needs to be added. Tablecloths, napkins, silverware, all the things that other places may require you to provide, were already provided.They do require you to use their catering service, but honestly the food is SO GOOD! Our vendors were so excited for the food and we've been told by multiple people that this is the best wedding food they've ever had.

Our wedding day was perfect!! Piazza Messina was the perfect venue!! We had the ceremony and reception there and they do all the food, alcohol, and cake, which made it so much easier for us! Plus everything tasted soooo good! We rented the bridal cottage and groom's loft too so once we were there for the day we did not have to leave which saved me so much stress! The cottage is beautiful and me and my bridal party had so much fun hanging out there all morning! Brenna was great to work with as our coordinator and set up all our decor the day of so we did not have to worry about anything! I would recommend Piazza to anyone and everyone!!

I can't say enough good things about Piazza Messina!!! Truly the best, most beautiful wedding venue and I'm so so thankful we had our day there. Emily, our wedding coordinator, was amazing!! She answered all my questions and was so professional and sweet! From the food tasting event, the planning meeting, to the rehearsal and our wedding day, Piazza Messina has you covered. Everyone knows Russo's Catering is the best but we are still getting compliments on the food at our wedding & our late night snack of Toasted Ravioli's! Piazza Messina keeps it easy for couples by having everything be all inclusive. They truly know what they're doing and we had the best day because of Piazza Messina and Emily!

Piazza Messina is an amazing venue!! Emily was our event coordinator and she did an outstanding job! I did not have to worry about anything on my wedding day because Emily and the team did such a great job. We had 250 guests and had to flip the space in between the ceremony and reception - they completed the flip in 30 min, and our guests could still comfortably mingle in the bar area. We hardly needed decorations because Piazza Messina is beautiful on its own, and had lovely Christmas decor for our December wedding. The bridal party was able to get ready on-site in the bridal cottage, and we took our photos on-site because there is a variety of photo opportunities. This made for a smooth schedule and no stress on our wedding day! I can't say enough great things about this venue! It is obvious the Russos and all the staff at Piazza Messina care about making your event as perfect as possible.

We got married here 2 months ago. I emailed them multiple times about issues with staff. We also paid for 3 hours of open premium and at our reception we were refused premium drinks. The bartender had zero personality, and she acted like she didn't want to be there. After our ceremony I asked for aChardonnay and was refused. She told me it was only champagne and vodka. Well, as the bride, I know what we paid for... I looked for our \"Wedding Planner\" and I was not able to find her. My photographer said she was on the patio with other couples discussing another event. When I walked out to chat she was nowhere to be found. Needless to say, the wedding planner couldn't be bothered. She didn't do much at our wedding & our reception. Brenna wasn't there to direct anything during our reception. We had to decide when it was time to cut the cake and when it was time eat. I was told this would be done for us. Just some undue pressure on our wedding day. We did not let these few bad things ruin our day.I am still waiting for a response regarding the emails I sent the owner about these issues over 6 weeks ago.Now that, that is out. Let's talk about the good stuff! The food was amazing as well as the staff serving food! I highly recommend the food! Our guests were very pleased with the quality and quantity of all of it! We got married at 10 am and after the ceremony we did a few pics while guests had hors d'oeuvres.When we got done and made to our way to our table there were two plates with two of each of the hors d'oeuvres, which I thought was so nice. The place was very clean and nicely decorated.The wait staff was fabulous!We tried to get piazza Messina to make this right. Still no response.

Piazza Messina is an absolutely beautiful venue. It was everything I wanted for my wedding from the aesthetic to the surrounding landscape. The fact that they also do all of the food and the cake made it even better. Mark was amazing to work with and is extremely nice and accommodating. We did have some issues with our initial coordinator in the beginning which made things a bit stressful, but Mark stepped in and help alleviate some of our concerns. Our coordinator ended up leaving about halfway through and our new coordinator, Brenna, was so much better and easier to work with. There was a Mothers Day brunch scheduled for the morning of our wedding which didn't allow our vendors access until later in the day. We were initially concerned with the time restrictions but Mark and his staff made sure we were able to get everything done on time. We had a few issues with our food the day of but hardly anything to write home about. The event staff was all incredibly friendly and professional as well. Overall, Piazza was amazing and the perfect setting for our special day.

The venue/catering staff at the wedding & reception were accommodating, the bartenders and servers were the best I've ever experienced at a wedding, and the room flip and set up went off perfectly! We toured Piazza back in January of 2021- a year before our wedding. The Russo brothers own the place- Mark gave us a personal tour of the place complete with a bucket of beer! My dad literally said “I don’t know why you’d get married anywhere else!” The space is intimate and cozy but also huge and a perfect place for a party. Kay was our event coordinator until she left Piazza for a different position and we were hooked up with Brenna. We had coordinated so many small details with Kay that I was nervous about the execution of the event with someone new but it all went so well. My literal only regret is that we didn’t take the leftovers home. We obviously were concerned about other things and did not even think about it! The room flip was seamless, the Piazza staff and my details coordinator transformed the room from a romantic ceremony into a whimsical wintery reception. The chandeliers had eucalyptus, there was gold chargers and navy napkins on ivory table cloths and a wooden royal seating down the center of the room. My dream. The bartenders killed it- a signature drink “Finn and Tonic” was being poured right and left, not a single person waited for a drink. The food was delicious- stations in different corners of the room kept the guests intrigued. Amazing. I can’t suggest the Russo crew enough!

The chandeliers had eucalyptus, there was gold chargers and navy napkins on ivory table cloths and a wooden royal seating down the center of the room. My dream. The bartenders killed it- a signature drink “Finn and Tonic” was being poured right and left, not a single person waited for a drink. The food was delicious- stations in different corners of the room kept the guests intrigued. Amazing. I can’t suggest the Russo crew enough!

Piazza Messina was the perfect venue for our wedding. We worked with Emily and she was incredibly helpful and patient as we planned and replanned our wedding day (covid-ugh). Emily was flexible and made it so easy for us to add personal touches throughout the day. She was also so helpful in the planning process and made sure we had everything in order before the big day. If you are looking for a Venue that does it all, choose this one! They have beautiful centerpieces and it was all included. We hardly had to bring anything to add to the space. We loved that there was in outdoor space available for guests. We also originally planned on having our ceremony outside because it is such a beautiful spot, but weather wouldn't allow. We were blown away with how beautiful the ceremony turned out indoors and how quickly they flipped the room over afterwards. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The food was also SO good. We had our rehearsal dinner here and were really impressed with how good it all was. Our guests are still telling us that this was the best wedding food they have ever had!

I can not say enough great things about the Russo's and Brenna Spears!!But I shall try!...My now husband and I were one of many couples that had to reschedule their wedding due to COVID-19. With our original wedding date scheduled in April, our wedding planner Brenna, immediately called us to discuss plan B dates. There were only Sunday's and Thursday's available but Brenna gave us many options for May through December!! My husband and I lucked out on our date because we ended up getting married in June on our dating anniversary! We like to think that it was meant to be :)When I say Brenna made the whole process stress free is an understatement. When it came to questions like, where should the decorations go? Which door should I walk out of? Can you open the doors when I walk out? Can I do this for my signature drink? SHE ALWAYS HAD THE ANSWER! She always told me to not worry and she would find a place for the decor I wanted and that we could make what I envisioned work. (She even came up with my signature drink name!) After I finished getting ready in the bridal cottage they have on site next to the venue, I went over to the venue for pictures and I was BLOWN AWAY with how it all looked! Thanks to Brenna and the Piazza Messina staff, I did not have to do any set up for the ceremony or reception. A huge time saver. We communicated with one of the owners frequently as well, Mark Russo. Mark was very very accommodating to our needs and was able to do just about everything we asked! When our first venue had to cancel 3 weeks before the wedding due to Covid-19 restrictions, our caterer Russo's provided the perfect event space. Piazza Messina is beautiful. The outdoor bar area provided the perfect setting for cocktail hour and the grounds made for a stunning backdrop for pictures (both professional and casual.) We only had 100 guests, so we were able to spread out and enjoy plenty of room for tables, dancing, etc., yet we didn't feel that the space was too big for our size wedding. The staff was wonderful. Kay was so helpful. The dinner and desserts were delicious. Everything went off without a hitch. Russo's really saved the day and provided us with what should have been our first choice venue!

We only had 100 guests, so we were able to spread out and enjoy plenty of room for tables, dancing, etc., yet we didn't feel that the space was too big for our size wedding. The staff was wonderful. Kay was so helpful. The dinner and desserts were delicious. Everything went off without a hitch. Russo's really saved the day and provided us with what should have been our first choice venue!

I am planning our wedding from afar and they have made the process simple and fun. Due to COVID-19 we had to postpone our big celebration to 2021, but thanks to their generosity we were still able to get married at Piazza Messina on our original date with just our immediate family. They have been nothing but accommodating and flexible with us during this very difficult time. I can't wait for our celebration in 2021, and if I could I would have multiple events at this gorgeous venue!

We had both our ceremony and reception at Piazza Messina, and our rehearsal dinner too. When we were picking out a venue, we fell in love with this place at first sight. You have to visit and see it in person! We also did all our photos there, and the grounds are beautiful. Food and cake is by Russo's, who owns the venue too. Our guests said everything tasted delicious! The cottage/bridal suite was an amazing option for our girls to all get ready and for the whole bridal party to relax and snack between photos. Our wedding planner Kay was very attentive to any request we had, and had everything set up to our liking. The only downside to our experience was that a rehearsal for another wedding occurred on our wedding day onsite, only a few hours before our ceremony. Our main complaint was that the venue did not notify us this would be happening, and we found out due to pure luck. We were under the impression that the entire space would be ours alone on our wedding day. I would just confirm that you are the only wedding party with the venue staff when you book here so there aren't any surprises. Overall we had an amazing wedding day and we are very glad we chose Piazza Messina!

We recently had our daughters reception at Piazza Messina. We chose this venue because of the Russo family reputation for great food and upon visiting the site, even under construction, decided it was perfect. We preferrred a venue with indoor/outdoor accomodations, we love the relaxed, warm, rustic feel. We had just under 300 guests, seated very comfortably inside. The wedding party was a bit late arriving, so we were glad we planned appetizers and cocktails early on! Even though they arrived late, the staff managed to serve our family style meal, for 300, in a very timely manner. Which was impressive! I received, and continue to receive, many compliments on the food and service and the venue itself. Mark, Brenna and their staff could not have been better to work with and I may have been their highest maintenance client as of yet! We designed our own table decor, which Brenna and staff set out for us, saving myself, my family and friends so much time better spent with my daughter on her wedding day. It was a Friday evening, so having those details so masterfully carried out was a huge help. Brenna and I communicated mostly by email up til the week of the wedding, at which time we were in very close phone and email contact. She was very accessible thru the entire process. We love the elegant simplicity of Piazza Messina. The food was excellent, as well as our service. Staff was polite and efficient, and accessible all thru the evening, even helping to gather our table decorations and gifts to be taken home. We have no regrets at all about choosing the Russo family venue for our only daughter's wedding celebration. Their experience, and finely tuned, service and attention to detail made for a very special evening enjoyed by all.

The food was delicious, of course Russo's catering is one of the top caterers in this region. We had the rest of the reception following which was great. This facility is beautiful and reasonably priced and worth checking out if you are planning on getting married or need to have other events. Kay Flavin was our event specialist during the majority of our planning process and she was timely on getting back to us for any of our questions, she is such a sweet woman and she was greatly appreciated. We are very thankful for our experience!!

Kay responded quickly and answered all questions in a timely manner. We even sat with Kay and priced out about 5 different options until we felt comfortable enough to sign the contract. The venue is beautiful and with almost 300 guests it is spacious enough! We could not have picked a better venue. Also, we felt there are no hidden fees. The dinner prices include decor, food, bar, coordinators, bartenders, etc. They are very up front about everything but you have to read the contract (just like any contract).

We just had our wedding there this weekend, it was amazing!! I see the reviews about bad communication and there were times when it took a minute but to be honest they never pressured us (“where’s our money?, what’s the final count?” Etc) and in the end it got done. I felt very overwhelmed as a bride in the last 3 months that it was nice to not have to worry about the venue. The food was excellent, atmosphere was incredible, staff did great, and getting ready in the cottage was the icing on the cake. Also, on the day before it took an hour to come set up any personal stuff I wanted, they handled the rest, that was great. Would do it again in a heart beat!

We were lucky enough to be the very first event at this venue. We had an issue with our original venue, and switched to Piazza Messina with less than 100 days until our wedding. We mainly worked with Mark and Katie, but met all the Russo brothers throughout the planning process and everyone was wonderful.Our wedding moved the venue's opening timeline up a week, but everything was completed on time and looked beautiful as promised. Katie and Mark were very accommodating, and we met with them several times during the build to see how everything was going. They were responsive to our many emails and calls. We received numerous compliments from guests on how great the food was (and it absolutely was delicious). No one had a clue it was the venue's very first event until we told them so. It may have been the first event at the venue, but the staff was very experienced and attentive. The whole evening flowed perfectly without us noticing a thing, and even the DJ commented on how impressed he was with the staff.The value was also outstanding. We had everything we could have wanted for our wedding and more at a beautiful venue, packaged at a price lower than virtually all the other venues we looked at.

We were lucky enough to be the very first event at this venue. We had an issue with our original venue, and switched to Piazza Messina with less than 100 days until our wedding. I have planned my wedding here for June 2020 Mark has been such an amazing help!! He’s so friendly listened and answered every question!! I can not wait to see the finished project and I’m so exstatic about having my special day here!!
