Pine Knob Mansion, Carriage House & Golf Course
The Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House located in Clarkston offer picturesque views of our on grounds gardens, and 27 hole golf course. At our facilities we pride ourselves on superb service, with an excellence in catering all in a setting your guests will remember for years to come. Our facilities offer an inclusive package with all food, and beverage with the exception of pastry items hosted in house. We have two unique venues on site with our Mansion venue best suited for groups of up to 150 guests and the Carriage House being quite a bit larger hosting events up to 280 guests. The Mansion has several unique touches including stone walls, carved wood paneling, lavish chandeliers, with our sword and shield décor. Our outdoor garden with gazebo is the perfect setting for your spring, summer, or fall ceremony. Cocktail hour and dancing may be hosted indoors or outdoors with an outdoor bar available to be added to your event. Our contemporary Carriage House features wood columns, crystal chandeliers, and granite counters. Out outdoor space has a covered open air pavilion included perfect for your ceremony, cocktail hour or dancing with an outdoor bar as an add on option.

The mansion is absolutely gorgeous for a fall wedding, but the staff/management there isn’t super accommodating. We booked the mansion for our wedding reception in 2020, but our wedding date wasn’t until Oct 2022. In-between that time frame, new management took over and that’s when we started having some issues. I highly suggest hiring a wedding coordinator/event planner for your reception, even though pine knob includes an “event manager” with your package. The event manager at pine knob does not guarantee that they will be able to help with any set up or take down and you only have 30 mins after your reception ends to clean up/pack up all of your belongings or else you get fined. It seems that they also are short staffed, as they can’t guarantee a beef carver to work the beef carving station if you choose that as one of your food options. We weren’t impressed at our food tasting, but the food on our wedding day was outstanding. We did the buffet option and a lot of our guests commented on how good the food was as well. All in all, it’s a beautiful venue, but it seems they could use some help.

Our wedding 10/7 at the Carriage House was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Every single staff member we worked with from beginning to end was amazing. Brigette was very helpful in answering questions throughout the entire process. Curt was awesome and always friendly. He took my photographer, videographer, husband, and I on the golf cart to quickly get to some ideal photo locations by the garden/top of the mountain area. It was cold that day and he had a blanket ready for me which was so thoughtful. I forgot my bouquet at the top of the mountain and he made a special trip up to get it just in time for the bridal party entrance. Anne was with me on my wedding day and was so accommodating and made me feel way less nervous. She checked in on us all night, boxed our dinners, fluffed my dress before I walked down the aisle, and much more. It’s really the little things that make such a big difference in the grand scheme of things. Our guests raved about the food and how perfectly it was prepared and still hot when served. We would recommend Pine Knob to anyone getting married, you will not regret it!

We had such an amazing experience at Pine Knob Mansion. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, mostly because of this beautiful setting. The on site coordinator, Brigette, was so helpful and answered so many of my questions. She was always available and very organized. We did a plated dinner and the food was delicious and there was so much of it! The wait staff was also great. We had two bars and the bartenders were so officiant and did a great job. My out of town guests were in awe of how great the food and service was. I highly recommend!

Our wedding at Pine Knob Mansion was everything we wanted and more! There were some initial personnel changes along the way, but everything the day of turned out wonderfully and Brigette was amazing, as well as the catering staff and bartenders. Everyone had a great time and even now, over a month later, is still complimenting the night. Everyone LOVED the food, even after our chicken was slightly changed, the venue was beautiful and everyone was very nice and accommodating, even after we had to delay for rain. Would definitely recommend!

100% would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a one-stop shop. We had a lot of guests come in from out of town so it was important that we have our ceremony and reception in one place. With so many people traveling and making arrangements with us, it helped so much to have food & bar already crossed off out list with PK as well. The tasting was amazing and really helped us feel confident our guests would be satisfied. Our coordinator was amazing and incredibly easy to get a hold of. I never felt like I was asking annoying questions or asking for too much. The staff was so helpful the day of, we were really able to enjoy our day, and the staff even made sure my husband and I got a plate and made time to eat :) We chose the Carriage House and got so many lovely compliments from our guests which really confirmed for us that we made the right choice with Pine Knob.

If it were possible to give a venue more than 5 stars, I'd do it for Pine Knob! My daughter and her husband were married at the mansion on 5/28/22 and it was the most perfect place for them to exchange vows and begin their lives together.The natural beauty of the mansion is unparalleled. The mansion itself is exquisitely maintained and the grounds are impeccably groomed. The people with whom my daughter and her husband worked with were responsive and professional. The wait staff and bar tenders were professional and personable. The bridal suite is the PERFECT place for the bride and her party to get ready.The food was delicious! It arrived hot and tasted incredible. Our guests had a choice between a beef and chicken duet, a vegetarian meal, or a vegan meal and I heard nothing but rave reviews about all of it! There were about 125 guests at the wedding and the dining room accommodated them all with some room to spare.Pine Knob Mansion is an absolute jewel and I'm so glad our daughter's wedding was there!

Pine Knob Mansion was a dream come true. My daughter had the most beautiful winter wedding at Pine Knob Mansion. Brigette, wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to create a beautiful winter wedding. My daughter had exactly what she hoped for, a beautiful romantic winter wedding. The food was delicious, with more than enough food than you can possibly eat. Also very accommodating for vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free meals. The appetizers were plentiful for our guests. The service was impeccable by the entire team, starting with valet parking to food service to coat check and to everything in between. Thank you Pine Knob Mansion for creating a beautiful wedding for my daughter and son-in-law.

I felt like I was stepping out of a fairy tale for our December wedding at the Pine Knob Mansion and reception at the carriage house! All of the holiday decorations were up including a massive wreath along the stained glass window in the carriage house that was the end of our aisle. Bridgette and Kurt were amazing and made sure all of our guests were properly directed and fed! The food was absolutely top notch, although from our tasting where we loved every single dish we knew it would be awesome. They even worked with us to buy cases of craft beers that my husband and I love to serve to guests! They are truly dedicated to making your day as perfect as they can, with Kurt even running out to shovel snow that had fallen that morning off of the patio for our wedding party to take photos. The only possible thing that could have been better was some of the communication with Pine Knob Staff about all the details of our wedding as we initially booked the venue before Bridgette started at Pine Knob, so there was some miscommunications at first. However, Bridgette and Kurt worked with us to make sure we had everything we wanted and more.

The newest coordinator Brigette was a dream, and Kurt was incredible. Brigette was my main point of contact throughout the day and Kurt at night. The food was phenomenal, everybody RAVED. I had so many people available to assist, even after a small hiccup with my photography, everything turned out beautifully. We had a great party and I am thrilled I chose The Carriage House for my friends and family.

While my wedding day was magical, I am disheartened by the way my husband, myself, and our family were treated by the wedding coordinator, Corinna, and the General Manager Kurt .Two months prior to my 9.19.2020 wedding Pine Knob contacted us regarding new packages they had created to accommodate Covid-19 restrictions. My husband and I decided to go with the ceremony only package and just have a small wedding ceremony. Pine Knob made changes as needed and was easy to work with. Then two weeks prior to my wedding, Pine knob contacted me stating that the wedding that would occur on 9.20.2020, the day after mine, had rented a tent that would need to go up the Thursday before our wedding and would be in the background as we said I do. They then retracted this statement to say the tent was actually a permanent structure for the rest of the 2020 wedding season which we would realize was a lie on our golf trip the following weekend. I know what you are thinking, a little dramatic over a tent. However, we tried to reason with them to delay the tent, offering extra money to put it up after our ceremony as we understood that they may be facing financial distress due to COVID. Pine know gave us three options:1. A full refund and to go elsewhere, which was not an option 2 weeks out.2. Be married in their Garden area which had no lighting and would be dangerous to walk down to in heels and a large ball gown.3. Drape the polls in the background with Garza. Note the polls were not the issue, the tent being visible in the background was the problem.As we had no choice we decided to continue on with the tent and we never uttered the words that we were considering canceling and I accepted that this was just another thing I had to deal with. Now this is what upset me most, the day of I requested that the doors be open an hour early for hair and makeup. Which was confirmed the night before with Corinna. When arriving the doors were locked and no one would answer phones. Fast forward to 1.5 hours before the ceremony, there are no Pine Knob staff to be found and when the GM finally showed up he began putting out lawn chairs, my mother then informed him we wanted Chivari chairs. He began yelling and pointing at her claiming that we had canceled and that he had been trying to reach us all week, a lie that we later confirmed with our phone records.When I confronted them the next day, they did not apologize for being rude to my mother they simply said they were sorry I was unhappy and began to try and blame everything on me and claim they also offered that I get married on the golf course, which they did not, I have the emails to prove it. They also claimed we did not provide a guest count and all the final details, which I have email proof we provided it the same day they asked. While I am happy for the couple who's wedding ran smoothly the day after ours, I am truly upset that the staff at Pine Knob felt they could not accommodate both couples and would treat us as if we were inferior and a bother to them.

I know what you are thinking, a little dramatic over a tent. However, we tried to reason with them to delay the tent, offering extra money to put it up after our ceremony as we understood that they may be facing financial distress due to COVID. Pine know gave us three options:1. A full refund and to go elsewhere, which was not an option 2 weeks out.2. Be married in their Garden area which had no lighting and would be dangerous to walk down to in heels and a large ball gown.3. Drape the polls in the background with Garza. Note the polls were not the issue, the tent being visible in the background was the problem.As we had no choice we decided to continue on with the tent and we never uttered the words that we were considering canceling and I accepted that this was just another thing I had to deal with. Now this is what upset me most, the day of I requested that the doors be open an hour early for hair and makeup. Which was confirmed the night before with Corinna. When arriving the doors were locked and no one would answer phones. Fast forward to 1.5 hours before the ceremony, there are no Pine Knob staff to be found and when the GM finally showed up he began putting out lawn chairs, my mother then informed him we wanted Chivari chairs. He began yelling and pointing at her claiming that we had canceled and that he had been trying to reach us all week, a lie that we later confirmed with our phone records.When I confronted them the next day, they did not apologize for being rude to my mother they simply said they were sorry I was unhappy and began to try and blame everything on me and claim they also offered that I get married on the golf course, which they did not, I have the emails to prove it. They also claimed we did not provide a guest count and all the final details, which I have email proof we provided it the same day they asked. While I am happy for the couple who's wedding ran smoothly the day after ours, I am truly upset that the staff at Pine Knob felt they could not accommodate both couples and would treat us as if we were inferior and a bother to them.

Our wedding at Pine Knob was absolutely perfect! Corrina and the rest of their team was so great at communicating with us and working out a plan post-Covid. The wedding planning process went very smoothly and our questions were always answered. On the day of the wedding, Corrina was very involved and even helped my husband and the groomsmen fix their boutonnieres before walking down the aisle. As for the rest of the staff, they were very professional and we got several compliments about the service. I would highly recommend!

Our wedding at Pine Knob was absolutely perfect! Corrina and the rest of their team was so great at communicating with us and working out a plan post-Covid. The wedding planning process went very smoothly and our questions were always answered. On the day of the wedding, Corrina was very involved and even helped my husband and the groomsmen fix their boutonnieres before walking down the aisle. I could rave on and on ALL DAY about how amazing Pine Knob is for events!! From our first tour, my husband and I knew we needed to have our wedding at the Pine Knob Carriage House. It is in a convenient and BEAUTIFUL location and the staff is so knowledgable and responsive. The Gardens up by the Mansion for our pictures were also so perfect for our photos! Then we had our food tasting and WOW, it was hard to narrow down what we wanted for our big day because it was all amazing. Leading up to our wedding, Corinna was an absolute angel to work with and we made a great team. Whenever she was out of office, Angie was fantastic to talk to as well! Then our big day arrived. I cannot explain how wonderful the whole team was to work alongside for my big day and there was no one else I would have rather worked with. I cannot picture my wedding happening anywhere else with any one other than Corinna and her team! They made us feel so special the entire time and did not let some rain on and off get in the way. Corinna made sure everything stayed on track while also talking to me throughout the night. I am pretty laid back so Corinna helped me make decisions and made everything so perfect and flawless. I highly recommend Pine Knob Carriage House (and Mansion but I was at the Carriage House!). LONG STORY SHORT: Corinna (and Angie) and their whole team are fantastic, the scenery is gorgeous, they are very accommodating and knowledgeable, very responsive, the food is amazing, and they will always have my highest recommendation! :)

Between huge changes to the guest list and changing the date, Covid controlled us a lot more than we wished. Pine Knob (and Corinna especially) made our wedding perfect. With all the stress of a pandemic wedding, the venue did not add to any of it at all. They were constantly supportive and flexible and I can’t recommend them enough.Day of, the venue was gorgeous!!! Rent the bridal suite, you will not want to miss it. Corinna was there the entire time helping us out and the day was so smooth and perfect. The food was AMAZING and there was a lot more of it than I thought there would be. My big recommendation is to bring your own chargers because they were great on the table. If you are thinking twice about this venue, absolutely go for it. For the wedding pictures alone, the venue is gorgeous. For the wedding day stress, they accommodate and plan out the day. Pine Knob Mansion is the perfect venue!

I do not have enough wonderful things to say about this venue. We we originally supposed to get married in May of 2020 but due to the pandemic had to postpone. They made doing that super easy. Our new wedding date ended up still have multiple guidelines but they did everything that could to make it as easy and beautiful as possible. The entire reception had to be moved outside and it drizzled up until dinner. Their staff was wonderful at keeping things covered and wiping down chairs. We had a perfect winter wedding at The Mansion. We found the staff to be more than accommodating throughout the entire process. From the initial tour, to the tasting, to the finalizing of details, the wedding coordinators went above and beyond to make our day as perfect as possible. The Peppino room is a great place to take pictures when it's cold inside. The food was amazing. The venue goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions and ensure all guests eat a great meal. Beautiful venue, amazing food, and wonderful staff! Everything was absolutely perfect and I couldn't imagine a better venue for a wedding reception. They allowed me to store all of my decorations in their offices the week before my wedding which was amazing. The only downside we had was that they require you to take everything with you the night of the wedding so we were flustered trying to make sure that we had everything when we left. One of my favorite and most appreciative thing that they did was box my husband and my's food up so that we could take it with us and eat once we got back to the hotel because we barely got to take one bite during the wedding! Overall, an amazing experience. Our reception was magical!

The day of our tour, my fiance and I waited over 40 minutes past our tour time until we were finally shown around, while we had driven 2 hours to be there and were 15 minutes early. The person who was supposed to give us our tour was presumably not on the premises, and was unable to be reached by other staff members, which we felt was unprofessional. Finally, an additional wedding coordinator arrived to oversee the preparations for a wedding that day, tried to call the staff member we were supposed to see, and again was unable to reach them. That coordinator then told us that she'd take us for a tour after 20 minutes of sort of ignoring us which was awkward. This all had obviously rubbed us the wrong way. Additionally, the date we had in mind was not available, even though I had inquired numerous times about that specific date, so the experience seemed like a waste of our time. I hope our experience doesn't continue for other couples interested in Pine Knob, and the appropriate corrections can be made going forward. The venue itself is beautiful and historic, with many areas that would make for great photos. Because of this experience however, I would not recommend this venue.

Finally, an additional wedding coordinator arrived to oversee the preparations for a wedding that day, tried to call the staff member we were supposed to see, and again was unable to reach them. That coordinator then told us that she'd take us for a tour after 20 minutes of sort of ignoring us which was awkward. This all had obviously rubbed us the wrong way. Additionally, the date we had in mind was not available, even though I had inquired numerous times about that specific date, so the experience seemed like a waste of our time. I hope our experience doesn't continue for other couples interested in Pine Knob, and the appropriate corrections can be made going forward. The venue itself is beautiful and historic, with many areas that would make for great photos. Because of this experience however, I would not recommend this venue.

We LOVED the Pine Knob Carriage house for our wedding. Corinna, Angie, Kurt & staff were all excellent to work with and made planning/day of so smooth. Service, atmosphere, details and food were all spot on. We got comments from multiple guests that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Some extras we got that were very worth it - the bridal suite (perfect spot for wedding party to get dressed, spacious & clean) and the outdoor bar (this was a crowd pleaser, we had it open from 9-11 PM).I've also attended a wedding at the Carriage House as a guest and my experience from that point of view was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend Pine Knob for your wedding!

We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. All of my guests continue to tell me how beautiful the venue looked, how wonderful and friendly the service was, and how tasty the food was! Corrina was responsive and worked collaboratively with me to ensure all my visions became a reality. She checked in with me at the reception, and offered to bring us food and drink. She even noticed that my dress was not bustled and helped me out. This venue is truly a 4 season venue. It has a beautiful outdoor patio for the summer, and large windows surrounding the dance floor that lookout to the beautiful snow-covered grounds.

Not sure what happened, but reading reviews, we had a different experience. No one was on the same page. We would get told different things by different people, charged extra for things we were told originally would be included. The communication was definitely lacking. There was a tour of the facility with another couple, WHILE OUR REHEARSAL was happening. The seating was set up wrong, and we had to rework it the day before. We did like Kurt, he was very personable and understanding, very helpful the day of! The food was good, and accommodates food allergies. We did not feel like we were valued, like we were just another $ to them. Was a big cause of stress throughout the process for myself, and my now husband.

My daughter and her husband chose Pine Knob Mansion for their wedding ceremony and reception and it could not have been a better choice. The facility is elegant and lovely, grounds beautiful and if weather cooperates (which ours did), the outside ceremony space in front of the gazebo and overlooking the valley is spectacular. Kurt, Corrine and Angie could not have been any more cooperative throughout the process answering my numerous logistics questions, providing food tastings and accommodating our requests. The food was fantastic and accommodation of food allergies was great. We had a band on the patio and with the outside lights it was magical. The price points were extremely competitive relative to other venues of similar quality. I would highly recommend Pine Knob mansion and its wonderful staff.

When I say awesome people that’s exactly what I mean. They’re genuinely nice and friendly people. Kurt rocked!! The food was awesome I’m still receiving messages about how good the food was. It was worth every penny. Corrina was my go to girl there. She was on point whenever I had a concern or question. They made sure I was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. They also kept timing for the evening. Our guests were excessive in expressing their enjoyment in the evening.Also, I was very concerned about having good food for our wedding. I hadn’t heard much about the food at Pine Knob so I wasn’t sure. Fortunately, the food was amazing. Pine Knob organizes a tasting event where you can test out most of the menu. The head chef took to time to talk with every bride and groom and express the menu isn't restricted to what they have listed in their pamphlets. In the end the food was delicious and I wish I would have had more of an appetite that night! Also, I didn’t think I would have much interaction with the bartenders, but they made me a special drink with my favorite liquor and it was great. They were outgoing, friendly, and interacted wonderfully with the guests.Thank you so much for a perfect wedding!!

I held my daughter's wedding at the Mansion just this Saturday, July 21, 2018. All I can say is that from the first initial meeting with Angie who made the process effortless I am so thankful. When every reaching out to any of the ladies they were kind and so very help. Wedding day I can not say enough as to how Corrinia set me at ease with her attention to detail and order it was as though she knew my next move without me saying one word. During the food tasting it was great that we we were provide a note sheet to assist with keeping track of our favor dishes. Kurt who oversees the catering is extremely accommodating wanting to provide you with the ultimate experience. No additional request or altering was ever met with negativity. My guest could/can not stop raving about how delicious and beautifully presented each course was. Moving on to the venue it's self. What is there to say other than breathtaking. From the regal feel of the dinning hall with swords and shields on display. We thoroughly enjoy the outdoor ceremony and how it lends itself to beautiful photo opportunities. The most exciting part was that the rain had passed so could enjoy dancing outside under the lights. No need to worry about pesky insects for we never found ourselves shoeing any away anything.In closing Pine Knob Mansion made my daughter's wedding day all that she imagined. My husband and I just had our wedding in March and we can say that it was the best decision we could have made for our wedding.We had our ceremony in the Mansion in front of the beautiful windows of the main living area, and for the reception we went down to the Carriage House. Kurt and Angie were amazing and always got back to me on my questions within hours if not minutes of me shooting them an email. Food wise they were extremely accommodating and even let us come up with an appetizer that wasn't on their menu! All of our guests who got the filet said they couldn't believe how perfectly they was cooked! All the food was amazing! Kurt went above and beyond with making sure every little detail was perfect. He even made sure our parents were doing well throughout the night! Honestly I cannot thank Pine Knob enough for making our big day the most memorable and perfect day of my life. Highly recommend them to everyone!

They have so many dishes to choose from and made special dishes for my Vegan bridesmaid and her boyfriend. Kurt made the entire wedding process pain free and easy. Anything I asked for he made happen. On the day of our wedding he was so helpful; it was like he was in 10 places at once. Angie made planning pain free and always responded to my e-mails almost immediately. We had cheesecakes brought in and they plated each a decorated them with chocolates and raspberries free of charge. The prices were appropriate for what you get in your wedding. The facilities were newly renovated in areas and extremely clean. I loved that they let us come in on the Wednesday before the wedding to set up and had our rehearsal on Friday night. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with delicious food and great customer service this is where you need to book.

Everything went very smoothly! The venue and grounds are beautiful and I can't wait to see our pictures. I would definitely recommend this venue to local brides. We just got married on Oct 6th, 2017 (Carriage House) and it was the best experience of my life. The staff and the service at Pine Knob was absolutely amazing! They truly made my day so special! The venue was all set up for us to set up for the time we requested, the venue was absolutely stunning and the staff were beyond amazing. Kurt was a sweetheart and made sure everything was going so smoothly, even when our hotel screwed up our shuttle service and the ceremony had to start a half hour later. He also would bring us drinks whenever we wanted and would always check in with me to make sure I was happy. As the bride, he even dished out my dinner for me at the buffet and brought my plate back with me to my table. He was amazing and beyond kind. The bartenders were also extremely kind and very timely with serving everyone and making sure the guests were enjoying themselves. The food was unbelievable as well. The chicken quattro fromaggio dish was so delicious!! My guests throughout the night repeatedly kept commenting on how amazing everything was from the venue, to the food, to the staff. I would recommend pine knob to any and everyone that is looking for a beautiful venue with great service and staff that is very accommodating. They truly made my wedding day everything I ever imagined.

Went on a tour of the venue and let me just say it is breathtaking. Every detail seemed perfectly placed. The beautiful venue, picturesque views, and the courteous staff leave nothing to be desired. I toured with Samantha and she was able to paint a picture of exactly how my wedding would look. Touring the property was an exciting thrilling break from the stress of wedding planning. Even my mother was blown away. I was so excited to get home and tell my fiance all about it.

To my dissapointment, the girl giving the tour was sooo incredibly unprofessional, she needs to be retrained on tours or not allowed to do them at all. She threw the pricing sheet at us and treated us like we were an inconvenience to her day. This venue is beautiful but the Sales team At this establishment is the SOLE reason I will not hold my wedding there. I will not recommend it to anyone I know getting married. I also have never written a bad review about an establishment online before, but this was necessary to warn future brides.

We can't say enough nice things about our wedding experience this past weekend. We were in the Mansion for both the ceremony and reception. The entire staff was so kind and accommodating. They allowed us in early to do our first look and outdoor pictures long before the ceremony. Due to daylight savings time change it would have been dark by the time the ceremony started, so we were able to get all out bridal party pictures in on the beautiful grounds beforehand. Kurt was super awesome and quick to fix anything that needed tweaking with our ceremony set up (on the dance floor due to cold) and got me some hot tea after I came inside freezing from taking pictures.Our guests raved about the Chicken and Salmon from our dinner buffet, and many said it was the best Salmon they ever had.There isn't one thing I can think of that didn't go according to plan, and if it did, I gratefully knew nothing about it!

If you are considering the Mansion as a venue choice, ignore the bad reviews from the past about the staff; Kurt was hired back in the middle of last year, let all of the old staff go, and everyone we dealt with was very helpful and knowledgeable. We met with Kurt to discuss our menu choices, he was there to supervise our rehearsal, and he and his wife were both present on our wedding day, making sure everything was to our liking. The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was awesome! Our guests really enjoyed being able to sit outside after dinner if they chose to do so, and my husband and I loved being able to dance to our first song out on the patio. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

They allowed us to have our rehearsal on Wednesday before the wedding and to set up all our decorations, seating cards, favors, etc. on the night of rehearsal which was a huge help to us. The bridal room was perfect for us, but I was glad that we brought a fan. We rented the pavilion for the ceremony and Kurt was there to guide us when the walk down the aisle. H'ors d'oeuvres were tasty and were served both inside and outside the reception. The dinner was fabulous - hot and delicious. Still getting great comments on the food. The serving staff went out of their way to continuously ask if we needed anything. They even made sure my daughter and her new hubby had boxed take out dinners for after the wedding. No issues with serving drinks. We really had a fun, wonderful night. I wouldn't change a thing. The staff was very attentive and thanked us for cleaning up so quickly. As the door closed behind us as we were leaving,, I wished the evening had not flown by so quickly. Thank you Pine Knob Carriage House staff, especially Kurt, for a memorable and wonderful night!

Amazing, wonderful, awesome! My family is still raving about the beautiful wedding we had at the Pine Knob Carriage House two weeks ago. Kurt, the banquet manager, bent over backward to make sure every detail was perfect. The reception has gorgeous brand new carpet and was set up beautifully. Our daughters wedding was on 12/5/2015 and that was just 3 months ago. Many memories abound and many friends and family have talked about the wedding and the reception with such emotion and fondness that we could not begin to say enough about Pine Knob and its staff. As stressful as a wedding can be for the Bride & Groom as well as the parents from planning to execution, we can say with the greatest of sincerity that the Staff of Pine Knob made this day one that we will cherish for a lifetime in both pictures and memories. We cannot say enough about Kurt in his kindness, knowledge, attention to detail, flexibility, creativeness and most of all his personality and attitude in taking care of everything. He was a calm as anyone we have ever met and no request was overlooked and those that were a bit over the top (and we had a couple), he looked at us and said \"no problem\" and it in fact was no problem. Kurt was truly committed to making sure that our daughters wedding day was as special to himself as it was to us and he and his staff showed that desire in every way. We never hesitated to ask questions or share a concern (this was our first wedding) because he never made us feel uncomfortable or that we were pestering him. He was honest in his answers and what we appreciated most was that if he felt a direction we were going in may not be the best, he presented us with alternatives and the reasons why and we can say that in every instance, he helped us make the right decision. We had the ceremony at the Carriage House and the reception at the Mansion. As it was during the Christmas season, both venues were beautifully decorated both inside and out. The Carriage House was set beautifully and again, Kurt left no detail undone. One very touching memory is that Kurt was right there throughout the ceremony and while myself and my daughter awaited our walk down the isle, Kurt stood next to her, a small nervous tear in her eye and made her smile and relax with a refreshing story. There were tables set up with glasses of Champagne for an after ceremony drink, and some lite appetizers after our Horse and Carriage took the Bride & Groom to the Mansion and we needed to have friends and family take their time going up to the Mansion so as not to overwhelm the Valet staff (Kurt's idea) though he had plenty of staff taking care of business at the Mansion. The menu that we had selected with the help of Kurt and Micheal (head chef), was outstanding, right down to the strawberries on the rims of the champagne glasses that we must say Micheal took upon himself to track down fresh strawberries in the winter for us out of kindness and not necessity (and the Kurt's request). The food was far beyond our expectations as was the service by all of the serving staff. The meals were ALL served hot and the presentation on the plates was in a word \"artistic\" and without a doubt - a gourmet meal!! The bar staff were a delight and could not have been more cordial to our guests as well as ourselves. We opted for the 'premium bar' and it was outstanding and enjoyed by all.\r\rKurt told us at the beginning of this journey that he would be there throughout the entire process and he was, right down to packing up the vehicles at the end of the night. The entire event and all of the coordination went on without a single problem and we attribute that to the entire staff at Pine Knob and the phenominal direction of Kurt.\r\r5 stars are not enough!!!

The day was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful setting for our special day. We decided to have our ceremony at the Mansion in the main room with the fireplace. It was stunning. They allowed us to have the fireplace lit during our ceremony. Our guests could not get over the ambience it set. Our reception was at the Carriage House and the food was delicious! Overall, Pine Knob was the perfect place to have our winter wedding! :).

The day was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful setting for our special day. We absolutely loved having our wedding at the Carriage House! Not only was it a one-of-a-kind venue, but the staff was wonderful! We worked with Kurt the most, but the office staff provided exceptional service and always got back to me when I had questions. I felt we got a great value here, and everyone couldn't stop talking about how great the food was. All the way up to the wedding day, Kurt was extremely helpful and did a lot of little things to make the day as special as possible. His wife was with me prepping my dress and veil before I walked down the aisle and grabbed me a glass of wine while I was greeting guests. Could not have asked for more, absolutely LOVED this place!

I LOVED my wedding at the Pine Knob Carriage house!! \r\rFirst let me say: I got engaged Oct 25th 2014 and booked w/ the Carriage House around Feb. The staff I was dealing with in the start fit the previous descriptions. In fact, I brushed it off even after my MIL was worried it wouldn’t be a good experience (they also knew of people who complained about the staff that handled the weddings). BUT DO NOT FEAR THINGS HAVE CHANGED!! : )\r\rMy father in law was very sick with cancer and ended up passing away a month and a half before our wedding day (which I should note: we had moved up 3 times with Pine Knob on account of his failing health and they were very nice about it). So wedding planning with the venue took a back seat for me pretty much until a few months before the wedding. When I called back I was thrilled to hear that there was a change in staff and was told Kurt took over and had over 20 years experience. When I talked to him he was SO nice, SO personable and SO relaxed. He went with any idea I had and even agreed to meet with my mother and I in person so she could go over details with him as well. We went over the whole menu with him, he even changed things up to personalize it to our liking, and made it SO EASY for me about all the food allergies and diets people had. I really cannot rave enough about how perfect and easy he made everything for me. \r\rThe day of went amazing! Kurt hung around and checked in on us and made sure the schedule was to my liking. He was totally relaxed, which made it SUPER easy for me to communicate with him when we were behind schedule (our hotel shuttle got lost on the way to the venue and set us back a solid 50 min the whole night...) He completely put me at ease and took care of everything. The staff was super friendly and the food was AMAZING. My dad who used to work in restaurant -management for a steakhouse and who RARELY is complimenting food told me it was the best prime rib he had ever eaten. All my veg, gluten free, dairy free friends said their meals were phenomenal. Every single person I have talked with since the wedding has complimented the beautiful venue AND food. I was so thrilled. I was 10000% recommend Pine Knob to anyone and I think you get above and beyond and amazing experience. \r\rAs a bride dealing with such tragic and difficult issues right before the wedding—I was on edge, I felt disorganized and incredibly stressed. The whole staff at Pine Knob (especially Kurt) made all the difference for me and completely took away any stressors the day of and leading up to it. I was able to enjoy my wedding and it was everything I ever dreamed of. \r

While the venue is beautiful, I would never consider Pine Knob based on the management's responses to comments. Talk about being combative, overly-defensive, and downright unprofessional. Here's some news for you, Pine Knob: when this many people have the same complaints about your staff, it's not them, it's you! Drop the attitude and work on improving yourselves instead of telling the brides how it's all their fault that their day was messed up. And get rid of whoever is doing your PR on this site, because they're just awful.

My Fiancé attended a wedding at the Pine Knob Mansion in July. Immediately as we arrived, we both expressed how beautiful we thought it was! Everyone at our table expressed how dissatisfied we were with the food, it had no flavor, but the presentation was nice!! It definitely looked better than it tasted. The only reason I decided to even write this review was because I came back on here to read what others thought of the place. I am in the service industry and work as a waitress and bartender and couldn't help but notice how rude and unpleasant the staff here was (one woman in particular)! I am not sure if it was the \"bar manager\" (who everyone else is talking poorly about in these reviews) that was absolutely miserable the entire night, but she was definitely the person in charge. (She was coordinating the servers as to which tables got what entrees.) Several of us guests commented on how unfriendly and mean she was, and god forbid if she smiled once the entire night. I even at one point told my Finance,\" even if we did want to get married here based on the venue itself, I wouldn't because of the staff\". It is quite sad to see various complaints about the service at Pine Knob. The place truly is beautiful, but when you are working an event when two people are celebrating the happiest day of their lives, the staff should be much more pleasant, no matter the circumstances!!! \r

My husband and I were married in May at the Carriage House. The location was my dream venue and we could not wait for our wedding. Every single thing was perfect and wonderful, except for one person working the event. The food was fantastic, the venue is beautiful, everything had been set up to a T! The staff had been so helpful during the planning process. It was truly a dream, minus the bar manager.\r\rUpon arrival she immediately had an attitude with myself, my mom and my mother in law. It was raining outside and the original plan was to have cocktail hour in the covered area, she suggested that we move the cocktail hour inside, which we were open to, but the event was not set up inside yet. So we had our guests stay in the outside (100% covered) area for cocktail hour until the venue was set up. She told us we were not running it the way she would run it. I, personally, wasn't aware her opinion was of relevance, as it was not her wedding or her money. The rest of the night she was miserable. Slamming glasses around behind the bar, telling our guests (several who had only had 1-2 beers) that they needed to drink a water before they could receive another drink. All of our guests were over the age of 21 and we had provided a shuttle service to and from the venue. Many guests brought this to our attention so we (the bride and groom addressed it), the woman then said it was only 2 people she had told that, but was not able to show us who those individuals were, but decided to close the bar down (she had additional excuses like someone shoved her and someone called her a name). After a short while, a very nice girl who worked at the venue told us the bar was back open and all was okay, only for the grouch of a bar manager to come back in and insist the bar was closed and for the police to later show up. The police were visibly embarrassed that they were called to the event, as the bar manager played a 'he said she said' game that neither the police or we were interested in. Based on the way it was handled, I truly felt like we were having our wedding in a trailer park club house vs. Pine Knob. It was a HORRIBLE way to end our evening and totally changed our image of Pine Knob.\r\rIf you read the reviews, many, many, many people have had the same experience with the bar manager and Pine Knob replies with nothing but excuses for this individual. It is a real shame. The entire event was absolute perfection, minus the one woman who was clearly on a power trip. If someone asked me if I would suggest Pine Knob, I would say no. To pay that much money and be treated the way we were is absolutely unacceptable.

It was also great to have everything at one venue; a place to get ready, ceremony, and reception. The food was wonderful and everyone was full by the end of the day. They also were a one stop shop for ALL linens and tableware (stuff you shouldn't have to think too much about). It was also perfect for in case of rain... They had an indoor dance area that converted for the ceremony if needed. We had a tiny amount of rain, but not enough to stop us from dancing out on the patio!! Just wonderful!!!

First let me say that the staff at Pine Knob Mansion is AMAZING. They were always available to answer questions, and never made us feel like our questions were dumb or small. \r\rThe day was cold and rainy (Sept 12) and it was down to the wire as to whether or not we had the ceremony outside in the gorgeous garden gazebo or inside the fabulous ballroom. As the bride, it meant the world to me that I didn't have to discuss, worry about, or deal with any problems on the day of the wedding... Paige had it all covered. She gave us our cues, told us when to be where we needed. She directed the vendors and musicians, assisted the guests. \r\rThe reception was excellent. Several guests told me that the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. We also heard that the cocktail hour snacks were great, although we totally missed them getting photos. \r\rThe table set up makes for a little bit of congestion with guests being able to move around, but that was because we were filled to capacity. The decor of the great hall was so elegant that we didn't really need any decorations other than simple, tasteful centerpieces.\r\rPhoto opportunities at the Mansion and on the grounds were endless. Fountains, gazebos, ponds, gardens... even the foliage and grass and walkways were picturesque. Seriously.\r\rPhotos on the web DO NOT do this venue justice. You have to go see it. Everyone said it was the most elegant venue they had experienced. I felt like royalty.

My now husband and I chose pine knob mansion to get married and hold our reception at because we met there at a mutual friends wedding. We loved working with pine knob and their staff during the planning. The day of the wedding was perfect and the facility was beautiful as always. Diane, Lisa and Paige were great to work with! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable wedding!

My now husband and I chose pine knob mansion to get married and hold our reception at because we met there at a mutual friends wedding. We loved working with pine knob and their staff during the planning. The day of the wedding was perfect and the facility was beautiful as always. Diane, Lisa and Paige were great to work with! We had our wedding at the Carriage house- and it was Beautiful! \rThe day of the wedding- things were great (or so I thought)! Everything was set up perfectly, but The Carriage house staff was no help to anyone else- they were not open to answering questions or helping anyone else at all. My mother-in-law asked if anyone had something to help her open some boxes, and the response she received was simply \"No\". \rWe had paid for the head table to get champagne for the toasts/speeches.... and that was no where to be found (until after) so when the bridal party asked for a drink they were told to 'get it them selves'. One of my bridesmaids was actually told by a bartender to get back in line to get someone else from the bridal party a drink. Then proceeded to talk bad about the bridesmaid to the remaining guests at the bar! Totally unprofessional.\rPaige the wedding coordinator was no where to be found for a while- until I asked for the fifth time (there were two weddings that night) if she could come sort somethings out (champagne issue)... Once Paige arrived things got a little better. However, the bartender had an attitude the rest of the night- which should have been taken care of.\rIt is really sad how a BEAUTIFUL night can be ruined for some of my guests by someone having a bad day.\r \r**Quick update: A guest of mine reviewed my wedding at the Pine Knob carriage house on Yelp. The bartender that was at my wedding- the one that was having a bad day- private messaged her! Very inappropriate stuff in my opinion, basically harassing her! I will leave it up to you to look at the message Yelp! But i am very disappointed that stuff like that had to happen. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. \r

I had my ceremony and reception at the Pine Knob Mansion.\r\rFirst, I will say that Lisa, the coordinator, has the patience of a saint. I must've emailed her hundreds of times and she answered every email and question promptly and completed, and probably the same questions more than once. \r\rMy bartenders and valets, although I do not recall their names, were awesome! They were all super friendly and great. \r\rPrice-wise, I am in the middle. My wedding was during the winter months, so we had discounted pricing, and I would say I definitely got my money's worth. I am not sure that I would feel the same had I paid summer pricing. It is a little steep. \r\rThe venue is gorgeous! \r\rI would recommend this venue to anyone with a small-mid size wedding (no more than 130).

We loved the venue when we first found it a year before our wedding. We immediately booked it, gave a deposit. The staff at Pine knob was helpful to a point. As soon as we paid our bill in full, we seemed to stop getting answers to our questions/emails. Our rehearsal dinner was outside only, we assumed we would be able to get in the venue the night of our rehearsal dinner, however we were locked out after hours.\r\rThe day of the wedding, the staff helping was very helpful and eager to make things run smooth. However, there weren't enough chairs set up for the ceremony and 5 minutes before it was supposed to begin, they had to put out 3-4 more rows of chairs.\r\rAnother complaint I have, and I knew this from the beginning when we signed with this venue, the room for the bride to get ready in is TINY. We learned the day of the wedding how poorly ventilated it is, it was so stinking hot in that room.\r\rOverall, the views are spectacular. The reception was beautiful. And even though I felt as if we didn't have good support after we paid in full (in cash), I would recommend it if you want an out doorsy feel in the middle of the city.

My fiance (now husband :)) and I were looking for a non-traditional banquet hall venue and we found exactly what we were looking for at Pine Knob. The setting was perfect for our Fall wedding and the staff was great from beginning to end!

My husband and I got married at the carriage house. When I first saw it, I knew it was the place! I first saw it before I was engaged, picking up my nephew from a wedding at night. It was lit up with white lights, on the building and the windows, and I could see the people inside dancing and having fun! it was gorgeous from outside. Once I was engaged and toured the facilities, I saw both the Mansion and the Carriage House were beautiful. You don't need to dress the room with any extravagant decorations and lighting, its simple and elegant as is. The staff was helpful and friendly. Lisa especially. I must have emailed her 20 times the weeks beforehand, and she was always responsive and helpful. Our guests loved the venue, and commented on how pretty a place it was, and all we did was table linens and centerpieces. The food was great! and the drinks were well made. overall, it was a great night and I would definitely recommend Pine Knob to others!
