The fire place outside is such a great “meetup point” and break from dancing and bowling and all that good stuff. Our poor djs did such a good job but everybody was outside or bowling or playing bocce! There is just so much to do that make it a special experience. Throughout the year long planning process, we had worked with three different coordinators, but each one picked up where the other left off without any interruption. Hailey ended up being our final day of coordinator and she was fantastic! She was professional and flawlessly helped wrangle the entire wedding party to keep things on schedule. We chose to have the cocktail hour in the private bowling alley upstairs, and all of our guests had so much fun. The wait staff during dinner was so attentive, our friends and family have been raving about the service for weeks after the wedding. annie Luna(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-09-2017 On the outside and to our guests, the venue was great. Prices were reasonable and the space is so beautiful. However, management was hard to work with. They were nice, but we had to tell them several times over and over that we didn’t want liquor in the bar upstairs and found out later that guest were getting drinks from there anyway. We paid for lemonade and soft drinks, which were never offered as an option to our guests. We also of course had hidden costs. Our events manager didn’t stay the whole night, and no one greeted our guests to tell them to go upstairs or that there was an elevator they could use for our older guests. No one greeted us when we got there. No one announced that cake was served or the dessert table was ready, and they were supposed to put out to go boxes for the dessert table which didn’t happen until they were trying to clean it up at the end of the night. Overall our reception was a lot of fun, but Pinstripes needs some work in professionalism and detail management. Reviewed on 03-10-2017
Courtney Bowe(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-08-2017 We had our reception at Pinstripes in Oak Brook and it was the best decision we could have ever made! Our guests loved the venue and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the maple glazed salmon. A lot of guests said that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. We did two hours of gaming and the full night of bocce which some of our guests really appreciated since they aren't really dancers. Having the patio outside to ourselves was nice too because it gave everyone some place to go if they didn't want to listen to the music. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted, chill backyard feel outside and a dance party inside. As far as planning went, Sarah and Nina were THE BEST. They were very attentive and knowledgeable and responded to my emails quickly. We can tell that they knew exactly what they were doing and they were very experienced with weddings. The location is great as it's next to Oak Brook Mall. There is plenty of parking and it is right on the main highway so it is easy to find. Mary Doornbos(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-06-2017 My husband and I do not like to dance, so we wanted something that had other activities for guests and us to enjoy. We also wanted a somewhat traditional ceremony, open bar, and outdoor ceremony. Pinstripes had this perfect combination! We booked 2/3rd of the ballroom, which had PLENTY of room for our wedding of 90 people plus a large area for a dance floor. We also booked the upstairs bocce court for the whole night to avoid other people coming in/out based on the suggestion by the event manager. We booked the upstairs balcony and firepit, too, which we HIGHLY recommend if you are having a summer wedding. We booked the entire upstairs bowling alley (8 lanes) for cocktail hour and half of it after dinner (9:30-11:30pm). Two of the lanes were broken, but since no one else was using the alley after about 10:30pm, they let us take the rest of it for the last hour, which worked out. They also let our guests stay an extra 20 minutes to finish off their game. The venue was about an hour away from where we live, and most of our family lives near us. Even though most guests had a long drive back and none of them booked hotel rooms, almost half the guests stayed AFTER the reception ended because they had such a great time. As for the food, my 8 year old nephew, who can be hard to please, told his parents, “This is the best free food ever!” Personally, I love the grilled vegetables, bread and homemade pesto sauce the most. My husband loved the lasagna and garlic mashed potatoes, which were good, but the regular menu versions are much better. Several people loved the Caesar salad. One of the guests requested more of the Caesar salad because “it was perfectly dressed,” and the kitchen complied. I was happy to hear that because I later found out that her table did not get the grilled vegetables or risotto, and they didn’t have enough parmesan chicken to go around. Luckily there were also two pastas, so the food was plentiful enough that no one went hungry. Our food package also included a cake that was made by a nearby baker, which let us cross one less vendor off of our list. It was simple and tasted delicious. Johnny and Spencer were the head wait staff, and they took over once the event manager left. Both were attentive, especially Johnny, who asked the groom and I all night long if we wanted more drinks. He even got a water bucket for me to keep my bouquet fresh during the ceremony. Justin, the bartender, was also very attentive. We had taken outdoor photos before the ceremony and looked flush from the heat. Both the groom and I were very sweaty and flush as a result, and Justin (plus other staff) encouraged us to stay hydrated. Apparently he also reminded other guests to drink water as they drank alcohol as well, which we appreciated. Justin even took a liking to my 11-year old nephew who thought Justin was really cool. My nephew is about to enter junior high, so being cool is a big deal. Last but not least, we’d like to mention Michelle. She managed the event and acted as a wedding coordinator the day of the event to help the other vendors set up. She offered helpful suggestions and was organized and thorough, which I appreciated because I have a Type A personality. She replied quickly to emails, too, and emailed us a picture of our ceremony from above (taken from balcony) for a new view of our wedding. She even put the first card and some gift cards in our card box, which we thought was very sweet. Reviewed on 21-06-2017

Emily L(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-04-2017 We had a fabulous wedding at Pinstripes in April, and it’s very much thanks to Sarah Bessler and her team. At the beginning of our planning process, we actually met with and booked the venue with someone else, and we were so grateful when Sarah took over. She was extremely communicative and did everything she could to make the wedding day run as smoothly as possible. She made sure we had exactly the food and drinks we wanted, including special accommodations for several of our family members with food allergies, as well as bowling and bocce lanes for our guests to enjoy. She also arranged to let us in on Friday to set up the space ahead of time so we didn’t have to worry about asking someone to take care of that the day of the wedding. In terms of the venue itself, Pinstripes in Oakbrook is a beautiful place to have any sort of party! The ballroom is contemporary with lots of exposed beams and big windows. There’s also a space off the ballroom that’s enclosed in glass with several bocce lanes, and a full patio with a firepit. Our guests were able to enjoy all these areas, and no one ever felt like they were leaving the party if they left the ballroom, because the spaces blend seamlessly together. The food - served family style - is out of this world! Several of our guests, including two professional chefs, told us it was some of the best food they’d ever had at a reception. At the end of the night, we rented out the bowling lanes upstairs, and when we weren’t quite finished with our games, the manager comped an extra half hour of time so we didn’t have to cut the fun short. We had a wonderful time at Pinstripes. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique venue, and we can’t wait to celebrate our anniversaries there! Reviewed on 17-05-2017

Um THE BEST!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO HAVE A UNIQUE AND FUN WEDDING. Maybe because it was my wedding, but our wedding was the BEST WEDDING EVER and it was almost entirely due to the venue choice. We booked upstairs ballroom space, the bowling lanes, as well as the outdoor terrace/bocce courts ( which is where we had the ceremony). We wanted our wedding to be different, fun, but still special and sweet. We did a cocktail half-hour before the ceremony with some hors d'oeuvres then had our ceremony in the enclosed outdoor terrace - such a fun, architecturally interesting space for the ceremony. After the ceremony we did pizza and slider stations - Way better than typical wedding food! Everyone had such a blast bowling and playing bocce and we got many compliments on the venue choice. Our event coordinator was fantastic - Michelle K. was great about reaching out and checking in leading up to the wedding day. She was quick about responding to emails and phone calls and was SUPER SWEET. She was amazing and so helpful every time I threw a new question or request at her. The servers and our manager for the night were awesome, as well!Because Pinstripes is also a restaurant and has public bowling/bocce, we're looking forward to spending our anniversaries there to remember the awesome wedding night we had there. We wouldn't be able to do this if we had booked at a banquet hall or venue that is strictly for weddings. Reviewed on 26-07-2016

This review is for my wedding at Pinstripes in Oak Brook which took place on 8/15/15. If you are thinking about having your wedding here you should know this is an incredible venue. Everyone we worked with was fantastic. We worked with Angie through out our planning and she was great. Very good about answering emails and phone calls promptly. Very nice to work with. Unfortunately the week of our wedding Angie got sick and Kate and Tanya at Pinstripes had to fill in for her. They were both also very easy to work with and everything at Pinstripes still went smoothly. \r\rWe had both our ceremony and our reception at Pinstripes. The ceremony was supposed to be outside but It started raining 90 minutes before our ceremony and the ceremony had to be moved inside. Pinstripes was able to accommodate this issue and took care of it with no problem! \r\rThe reception was incredible. The service was great. Pinstripes was able to very comfortably accommodate and serve our wedding of 200 people. We had the full bar menu for our wedding and our guests were able to have various craft beers and mixed drinks. We had a family style menu for dinner which was excellent. The food at Pinstripes in general is amazing and the food for our wedding was no different. We rented out the entire upstairs for our reception including bowling and bocce. Our guests were able to play these games during the reception which provided a unique and fun element. \r\rIf you are looking for a unique, high quality, and extremely fun venue for your wedding Pinstripes is it!\r Reviewed on 17-08-2015

We had to drag people in for dinner, they were having so much fun! The food was delicious and the bar selection for wine and beer was perfect. \rAs a bride, the best part was Kate - our wedding coordinator that works for Pinstripes. She asked helpful questions and set up anything we needed. She even went out of her way to buy a new DVD and reformat it when our photos didn't work on the slide show! I had so many guests tell me they though it was one of the coolest wedding venues. The food was FANTASTIC and the price was WAY more reasonable than a lot of the other local venues. We are in our mid 30's and didn't want the typical formal ballroom style wedding. Pinstripes offered so many options. We had our ceremony in the beautiful back lawn area with a field and hills as the backdrop. It was a simple and natural setting. We chose not to use the upstairs ballroom setting and instead had our cocktail hour and reception on the outdoor heated (and tented for the colder months) bocce ball court area. It was perfect for our casual rustic theme. We were able to customize the table layout as we didn't want to have the large round tables, instead we chose the smaller cafe style casual settings. I can't say enough about the service that the staff provided. From first meeting with Lisa, our event coordinator at Pinstripes, to all of the times we just dropped in to take a look (for planning purposes), everyone was always so professional and welcoming. Lisa was amazing throughout the whole planning process and was always efficient with responding to emails and questions. The planner had already been watching the weather, and had placed the indoor space on hold the previous week. On the day of the event we were able to still have our cocktail hour outdoors, and move inside for the dinner before the storms took place. I was impressed their enthusiasm, and preparedness. \r\rIf you are seeking a playful, yet beautiful space with outstanding service, food and management, I would absolutely recommend Pinstripes. On the night of the event, we were slightly behind of our timeline and she seamlessly adjusted without our even noticing. She was wonderful! We did not want dancing at our wedding and this was a wonderful alternative that offered other options. Our guests loved the venue and still rave about it weeks later. Kimberly Sheehy(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-10-2013 I can already tell that this review is going to be long, so the gist of what I want to say is that Pinstripes is an EXCELLENT choice for a wedding or any other event!! \r\rI had my wedding at the Northbrook, IL Pinstripes location on October 26 and it was absolutely perfect! When searching for the perfect venue, I fell in love with Pinstripe's unique and fun atmosphere, it fit my and my husband's personalities so well. When I told my family, who had never heard of Pinstripes, they were very skeptical of me having my wedding at a \"bowling alley.\" However, once they saw the place, they knew we had made an excellent choice. \r\rI worked with Angie Gill to coordinate both my ceremony and reception at Pinstripes, and she was so amazing. She was always very kind and courteous and always available to answer any/every question I had for her. A lot of the time throughout wedding planning, I felt clueless about what I should be doing, but Angie always knew exactly what questions to ask and was such a great help in making my wedding all come together perfectly. When we went in for our complimentary tasting to pick our menu for the wedding, they gave us boatloads of food and even threw in a few of their favorite extra menu items that we didn't choose. The food was so incredibly delicious, and we got to take home the leftovers! \r\rOn the big day, I went over to Pinstripes in the morning to make sure everything was being set up how I wanted. Angie and the manager were there ready to help. They had some tables with table cloths that I wasn't wild about so I asked if they could switch them out with these gorgeous tables they had in the lobby. They did it with no questions asked right then. They let me use wine barrels, easels, AV equipment, whatever I needed at no extra charge! \r\rAt the wedding, the food was delicious (again, as expected). Guests kept coming up to me and telling me that it was the best wedding food they had ever had! They also raved about the venue in general, saying how neat of a place it was and how much they loved it. \r\rWe had a 4-hour open bar package and then told them to keep the bar open on our tab after that. This is where the only issue occurred. Towards the end of the night, I couldn't find a bartender. When I went out to the lobby to find someone, the bartender said he didn't want to stand behind the bar anymore because there were a couple of guests he wanted to cut-off. I don't recall anybody being too drunk or getting too crazy, so that sort of bothered me. But, we got the bar back open and it all worked out in the end. \r\rAll in all, I absolutely loved Pinstripes and very highly recommend it to anyone who wants an amazing wedding! Deidre Johnson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2012 From day one our coordinator Artemis was amazing. She never pressured us into anything, actively listened to us, put up with my husband's indecisiveness, answered each and every email (even when I sent up to 3 per day) in a timely manner, etc etc....I can go on and on about her. She was great. The rest of the staff was great also. Always smiling and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic and my guests called/texted me days after our reception about how great the food and drinks were. They also loved the unique location. Banquet halls can be such a bore and the food at the places are usually snooze worthy. If you are currently looking for a wedding venue, do not hesitate to choose Pinstripes! Robin Stoner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2012 I highly recommend Pinstripes for any party, anytime, any reason, big or small! Our wedding was in June 2012, and we still receive compliments on our wedding reception at Pinstripes in South Barrington! \r\rWe knew that Pinstripes was the perfect venue for us the minute we walked in and met all the wonderful people who work there. Laura and Jackie, our event specialists, were absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with from start to finish; they went above and well beyond our expectations! Since we only had 4 months to plan our wedding for 205 guests, I really appreciated their great communication and organization skills as well as overall expertise. During the planning period, my questions and requests were addressed very quickly by email or phone. Somehow, someone always seemed to be available if we stopped by with our florist or needed to see the space. I believe that there were no surprises on the day of our wedding because of the high level of professionalism and extraordinary customer service at Pinstripes. \r\rThere was A LOT of DELICIOUS food (family style was a hit, and so were the braised short ribs and salmon), craft beer, cocktails, wine, and fun. No one went hungry that night! Dietary requests were easily met for those who were vegetarians, gluten-free, had allergies, or were kids. The servers and bartenders at Pinstripes are really good at what they do; drinks and food was served quickly and our guests were very impressed. Jackie and Scott, the bar manager, were perfectly attentive to my husband and I throughout the night and we never had to search for a drink or answer to a question. The evening began with a cocktail hour in the outside bocce area, and there was a beautiful display of appetizers and cocktails ready for the taking once guests entered the area. We loved that we found a place that allowed us to have a mostly outside wedding reception and dinner inside with air conditioning. A great plan in the event of rain was created but we didn't need it. Since my husband and I are bowlers, an on-site post party in the bowling alley was a must (and a hit for all ages)! It was easy to set up a shuttle with the nearby Hampton Inn for our overnight guests. Finally, it should be mentioned that we found Pinstripes to be an extremely good value. We were very happy that we were able to select everything we wanted without having to worry if it would put us over budget. \r\rMy husband and I have often talked about how Pinstripes was the perfect fit for our wedding reception. Everyone in our bridal party, including our parents, was extremely happy with their experience at Pinstripes. We will forever thank Jackie, Laura, Scott, the chef/kitchen and ALL the staff at the Pinstripes in South Barrington for a wonderful experience, fabulous evenings, and many beautiful memories! The date is incorrect by my username.\r\rWe were very happy with our experience. We were fortunate enough to work with Artemis in Oakbrook. Artemis and her staff were wonderful. We had the entire upstairs for our party including the outside and bocce area. Everyone at Pinstripes was especially attentive and kind. Artemis went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. She made our experience extremely seamless. She worked with us multiple times to ensure our needs we're met. Our tasting was exactly what we wanted and she even convinced the chef to make our favorite flatbread for our party. \r\rI dropped off centerpieces and goodies the day before and Artemis made sure everything was set up exactly how we wanted. \rWe didn't do a traditional sit down dinner but opted for cocktail service and Buffett food most of the night. It was an informal set up and exactly what we wanted. Our guests raved about how nice it was to mingle, eat, dance, play bocce and just hang out by the fire outside. jmcgrane7 (groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2013 We just had our wedding at the Oak Brook Pinstripes and it could not have been more perfect. The title states what it was to us. Something different from the traditional reception, but still had the feel of a gorgeous and elegent wedding which we wanted. Tania, our lead coordinator could not have been more loving, open, and understanding to our needs. We did not have a lot of money, but enough to try and capture all the things we needed. We had a 2 hour happy hour before dinner and dancing. It was amazing. All the guest got to bowl, bocce, drink and eat. The lay out of all the rooms makes its extremely comfortable and the patio puts it over the top. Again, who bowls at a wedding? But it was a combination of fun and beauty. The place is really top notch. Tania understood our budget, and worked with us, even helping out here and there to what we could afford. The food was again unique and delicious. From the appitizers, to the family style dinner, the food was amazing and we were able to order as much or as little as we needed. A large kudos to the wait staff. We were very concerned with having 180 guests happy. But the kids (and I say this bc most were between 17-25) were nothing short or perfection. Walking around with wine, beers, cocktails, and always attentive to the main married couple. I literally had my own server that was around every ten minutes as well as my wife. The kids were even better than other wait staff bc they were punctual, swift, and polite. We cannot say enough about the venue, the room, and the entire upstairs itself. Literally hit on all levels and I completely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a change of pace from the traditional wedding. Bc you receive all that and more with this place. Josh Klinzing(groom)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-03-2013 We worked with Tania at Pinstripes Oakbrook for a reception after an out-of-country wedding. Once booked, they were very flexible with the timing of getting all the details set. That was OK with us, and we ended up with a great party. We rented 2/3 of the banquet room and also the bocce courts on the 2nd level so our party could use the veranda, bocce courts, dance floor, and tables for dinner.\r\rWe had a hiccup with the projector, as the connection to my laptop to show pictures was not working. However, Scott and the team at Pinstripes spent over an hour and went to great lengths to get it working. Scott made sure that the night went well and everyone was happy. Moses and his crew did a great job keeping everyone fed and the drinks flowing. At the end of the night, he and the staff all came up to me to get feedback and wish us congratulations. That was a very nice touch.\r\rThe food was great - we did a family-style dinner with the veg and shells (great), jambalaya risotto (awesome), short ribs (awesome), and salmon (overcooked, but flavor combination was good). We ordered 3 special desserts for people, and Pinstripes executed well. A few people showed up late during dinner, and they brought out fresh plates of the food upon request with no problem.\r\rThey listened, made some good suggestions, and helped us have a great time. Gina Wentzel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 My husband and I had our wedding reception at Pinstripes in Oak Brook, IL on June 1, 2013. We actually met with Laura, our event coordinator, before this location was even fully built. Laura gave us all the information we needed and more, so we felt entirely comfortable booking without even seeing the final construction. Laura made the process easy from beginning to end. She was very professional, flexible, and responsive, which was a huge plus for me. Laura always took the time to respond to my (many!) emails, which I greatly appreciated. Ultimately, I don't think the planning process could've gone any better! \r\rNow, on to the wedding day... I was absolutely amazed at how wonderful Pinstripes set up the space for our wedding. We had the banquet hall on the second floor, as well as the outdoor bocce courts reserved. It ended up raining so they set us up on the indoor lanes at the beginning of the evening which was perfect, as I hadn't even thought to ask what we'd do if it rained. We were able to use the outdoor space still, once the furniture and bocce lanes dried off a bit! Pinstripes made it a smooth transition and I didn't even have to ask about it! Cocktail hour was great and we had a full open bar all evening, which was nice.\r\rDinner was wonderful. We were amazed at how much food they brought out and we heard nothing but positive comments from our guests, raving about both the food and the service. The servers were all incredibly attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. There were a couple of points that they went above and beyond for... a week or two before the wedding, I contacted Laura and mentioned that my sister had learned she had some food allergies. Laura coordinated with me to get an individual meal for her, including a separate gluten-free dessert. I really appreciated the flexibility and I know my sister did, too. Also, one of our guests had an easier time sitting in a chair with arms, rather than the typical banquet hall chairs. No one made a big deal about it, but I noticed they brought our guest a comfortable chair with arms and set it up at his table. I was amazed at how thoughtful and accommodating they were! \r\rThe only negative thing I can say is that they misspelled my name on the board near the entrance that instructed our guests where to go. It wasn't a big deal to me though, considering I didn't even notice it until I saw a picture the next day that one of my guests took. Considering they did such an awesome job with the whole event and planning process and got every other planned detail right, they could've left my name off the board altogether and it wouldn't have mattered to me. :)\r\rOverall, I'd highly recommend Pinstripes to any bride looking for a non-traditional venue. If you don't want to go to a standard banquet hall but are still looking for a dinner and dancing reception with a little fun mixed in, this is the place for you! Having the bocce lanes and outdoor space available was perfect for anyone who didn't want to dance, wanted to chat, or just needed fresh air. The venue is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are outstanding. You won't be disappointed! Reviewed on 08-07-2013
Courtney Johnson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2013 We worked with Laura at the new Pinstripes location in Oak Brook, IL. Our wedding was approximately 90 people (originally estimated 130-ish) and we had a $10,000 minimum (including gaming!). It was very affordable compared to a lot of the other venues in the area that we were looking at of a similar set-up: On-site Catering, Alcohol service, lots of nearby amenities for out-of-towners, with a wedding consultant. Laura made several helpful suggestions of local vendors, but we were also allowed to work outside of their vendor list (other than catering) which was great.\r\rWe were able to drop off our table decorations the day before and Laura and her team executed and placed them perfectly! The banquet room was lovely and the patio area was really nice to have as an alternative option (and nice to cozy up the fire on a cool May night with a blanket provided by the venue). We rented 8 lanes of bowling for 3 hours, which our guests seemed to really enjoy the change of pace for a wedding. A lot of people were surprised at how classy Pinstripes had made the restaurant-bowling experience! They also seemed to enjoy having an alternative to dancing. Also, the food was very tasty! One of the few regrets is that we didn't warn people that a ton of food was coming their way with a menu for the tables. I highly recommend this for anyone who books with this venue!\r\rThe only hick-ups we had with the venue were that they misspelled my new husband's last name on the welcome board (after I corrected the wedding consultant about this a few days prior in an email) and the waiters/kitchen totally botched the timing of the vegetarian entree delivery. They didn't bring it our until after I complained about it... twice... and after they were setting out the dessert course. According to the venue, one server spoke with one of our vegetarian guests (who was actually our only vegan guest) who requested something different than the vegetarian option, and then assumed that because of this one conversation that none of the other vegetarians wanted their alternative meals. Honestly, it seemed like they over-reduced the staff after they received our final numbers, so I can understand the confusion in a rush. Other than dinner, the servers seemed quick to attend to cleaning up dirty plates from appetizers, our nacho bar late-night snack and refilling new drinks for people.\r\rAll in all we had a great time and were really happy with our choice. I would definitely recommend this venue to other people. Reviewed on 04-06-2013
