Built in 1799 & located on historic Bayou St. John, Pitot House is the only Creole colonial country house still open to the public in New Orleans. The house & grounds can host a variety of events - weddings, receptions, dinners, cocktail parties, and more. The maximum capacity of the site is 250.
Brooke Dixon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-05-2019 We had both our ceremony and reception at the Pitot house and it was absolutely amazing! Working with Jenny from Pitot was wonderful! She was prompt to respond to emails, had a vendor list the location normally worked with. She responded to emails quickly and made sure we had the available resources. During our walk through she gave us ideas and showed us what other couples have done. The crew at pitot house is very lovely and i would recommend it to other couples! Reviewed on 19-05-2019

Eleanor Wohl(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-12-2018 It was a BEAUTIFUL venue, even despite the rain. And they were very laid back to work with. I will say, this is venue ONLY. You have to bring in everything, down to renting a dumpster. It does make a lot of costs incur but it's a very beautiful venue that we loved! Reviewed on 31-12-2018
Joanna Robinson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-09-2018 Had a marvelous wedding reception here! The staff were attentive to all of our questions and concerns, and we enjoyed working with them. The space lends itself to an outdoor reception, but the inside can also be used (we set up our cakes and guest book, and chairs for guests who wanted to cool off). It is not all-inclusive, but they are very flexible so you can bring in whatever vendors you'd like and potentially save a good bit of money, while having the details however you'd like. Anna Wilson(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2019 The venue is really lovely spot on Bayou St. John. We live in the neighborhood and would pass by Pitot House on our evening walks. We booked a date of 10/12/19, my grandparents anniversary, since my grandma who is 92 will not be able to to attend our wedding. One month after making a deposit with Pitot House and signing a contract, my fiance received a letter (only addressed to him...no email or phone call or message through the Knot) informing us that someone had already taken our date and they had double booked. They offered us a discount for a different date, but the 10/12 date is what is so important to us. My family and I have made plans around the date, so now we are scrambling to find a new venue. So glad this did not happen closer to the wedding!! Reviewed on 05-12-2018
Alden Woodhull(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-11-2018 Pitot House was perfect for our bayou, outdoor wedding! We had our second line right along the bayou which was great. The yard is 100'x100' which meant ample room for a tent, stage, dancefloor, seating for 160, cornhole, giant jenga and room for people to hang out. The space has so much natural beauty with giant magnolia trees and greenery, including a gorgeous garden with grapefruit trees! The balcony which overlooks the garden and the bayou was the perfect place for photos and for our sweetheart dinner. Jenny was super helpful with making sure we had everything we needed. Added bonus - you're supporting a nonprofit and historic landmark! It was built in 1799 so it's fun to say you're having your wedding in an 18th century cottage. Inside the house was perfect for hosting our buffet tables. Our guests kept talking about how beautiful the location was! Reviewed on 10-11-2018

She had great advice for all of our questions and helped make our wedding planning process very easy and stress free! We highly recommend this venue if you're looking for a mostly outdoor, picturesque spot for your wedding in New Orleans! Reviewed on 24-09-2017
