We held our May 2016 wedding at Planterra Conservatory and it was easily the BEST night of our lives. From the very beginning, it was evident that Anne and David know how to execute an event and working with them could not have been a better experience. The food and cocktails were phenomenal, the service was top-notch, and the floral and event design was jaw-dropping. They are extremely organized and have every base covered. They are also helpful in working with your budget. For example, we wanted more expensive flower choices but to stay within our budget, we altered the design of the centerpieces slightly. You can tell that that they truly want you to be happy and do whatever they can to personalize your event. Our entire wedding day went off seamlessly and their day-of coordination staff eases you along from event to event (cake cutting, dinner, dances, ect.) so that you don't have to think or worry about anything other than enjoying yourself. They assign a server to just the bride and groom and we could not have been more thankful. She was absolutely fabulous and made sure that we were able to eat, always had a cocktail in hand, and were enjoying ourselves. We could not be more thankful for how wonderful everyone was! We held both our ceremony and reception at the Conservatory and our guests still cannot stop raving about how beautiful it was and what a great time they had. It was especially nice to hear that they appreciated the great service. They never had to wait for a cocktail or ask for anything and we had 130+ guests attend. Thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams!

I can easily say that Planterra made my dreams come true. Planning a wedding out of state is already stressful enough that I cannot imagine how people do it without a place like Planterra. Every step of the way, Planterra was just on top of it. They have everything so organized that it made wedding planning probably as stress free as possible. Working with David to create my bouquet and the decor/wedding aesthetic was easy and so much fun. He has an eye that is just unmatched. The rest of the team there is very on top of everything else. I could seriously go on and on for pages on how perfect everything was. Communication was always speedy and detailed. They followed up as needed and double checked everything twice. The day of was pretty seamless with everyone working cohesively and everything was just too perfect to put into words. I am honestly blown away by the staff there. Incredible doesn’t even cover it.

Overall the vision at Planterra came to life really well! The team is super kind but can sometimes push their vision vs listening to yours and they did miss some of the fine details in the setup of the reception but had truly exceptional food, was a beautiful ambiance, and they were more than willing to have as many conversations as needed to get to the final look. I do recommend them for someone who wants that outdoor feel without the stress of the weather!

We are a same-sex couple that got married at Planterra in February of 2023. We overall had an extremely positive experience. First and foremost, Planterra is very inclusive of LGBT+ clients. Next, Planterra covers catering, florals, and event coordination, and it was nice as two busy people to have most of our details attended to by the same vendor. The food was delicious, and Planterra was attentive to dietary restrictions and food allergies. Our florals were honestly immaculate. The event coordination was very valuable, especially as the day of the wedding got closer. Everything ran incredibly smoothly on the day, so we as brides did not have to worry about any logistical issues. Planterra staff did all the setting up before and packing up after, and even packed up a sampler of all our desserts for us brides to have. Planterra also has an awesome list of recommended vendors that I would highly encourage picking from. We used both a recommended photographer and DJ, and both were amazing. Our wedding day was beautiful and memorable with Planterra as a venue. We got so many positive comments from guests gushing about the beauty of the venue and the food. The two things I want to note if you book this venue in the interest of full transparency are: 1) it is an expensive venue, so only book here if you are in a position to spend a significant amount on your wedding, and 2) you absolutely SHOULD book a hair/makeup artist retainer to touch up your hair/makeup for photos, the ceremony, and reception if you book this venue. This venue is humid, even in the winter, and we were very grateful that we had booked a hair/makeup retainer to re-do our hair, which was necessary three times for each bride throughout the day. I am sure many hair/makeup places offer retainer service, but we used Drake Artistry Collective. All in all, if you are interested in Planterra and are in the financial position to book it, BOOK IT!!! You won't regret it.

Planterra is the not only the most beautiful venue in the Metro Detroit area, but the most professional as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. Every single detail was thought out to make sure that our wedding day was everything we dreamed of. The entire planning process was made SO easy for us and I never felt stressed because of the help of their in-house planner, David and our amazing day of coordinator, Caitlin. David is such a professional, so fun to work with, and EXTREMELY good at his job. The day of the wedding went so smoothly thanks to Cailtin and the rest of the team at Planterra. Their catering team and wait staff was perfection. I have never heard so many compliments about wedding food before our wedding here. They treated every single one of our guests like VIPs, making sure that they had fresh drinks, warm food, and every dietary restriction or preference was accounted for. Not to mention as the bride and groom, we felt like royalty. I think the wait staff new what we needed before we even did but they were never pushy, just always there ready with a drink, a snack, or a smile. Our absolute favorite part about this venue is that we didn't have to set up or take down a single thing. It was all done for us. This way not just the bride and groom, but our entire family and friends could just enjoy every minute of the day with zero stress. To me, that is priceless. Planterra was so great to work with for our wedding! Of course the venue itself is beautiful, but also the team is super organized and communicative. It's definitely pricier than other venues, but it was so worth it to not have to stress over finding catering, bar, florals, furniture rental, etc. They really make wedding planning almost feel easy. Our guests raved about our wedding and many told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to! The only complaints we received were the waitstaff being a bit TOO efficient at collecting abandoned glassware - people would set their full glass down for only a brief moment and return to find it had already been taken away. Otherwise, everything was so magical and we're so thankful for the Planterra team for helping us plan our dream wedding!

So many of our guests are still raving about everything, and many have said it was the most beautiful venue they've ever seen. We had a server dedicated to making sure my husband and I got to eat everything, and always had a drink in my hand. At the end of the night, the coordinator had all my things packed up for me ready to go. The Planterra staff gives every couple a custom experience, and know how to make sure everything is as smooth as possible. I can't recommend enough! It is on the more expensive side, but there is no other venue comparable to this one in Michigan and its worth every penny.

We had a server dedicated to making sure my husband and I got to eat everything, and always had a drink in my hand. At the end of the night, the coordinator had all my things packed up for me ready to go. The Planterra staff gives every couple a custom experience, and know how to make sure everything is as smooth as possible. I can't recommend enough! It is on the more expensive side, but there is no other venue comparable to this one in Michigan and its worth every penny.

If you are looking at this, you are probably considering getting married at the Planterra but wondering if it's worth it. It is 100% worth every penny! My wedding was exactly what I dreamed. The team they have there are fantastic and know exactly what they are doing. David only had to see one picture of my vision and ran with it; the decor was more than I could have ever imagined. Kirsten and Tiffany did a great job keeping everything on track on the day of and for rehearsal. Kirsten and Ann were super responsive and helpful when I needed to make multiple changes prior to the wedding. They have this entire process down to a science and I had to worry about nothing, especially on the day of. My husband I was able to enjoy every moment of our special day. Also, people are still telling us how amazing the food was! I still crave their tomato bisque and grilled cheese appetizer. The only things you need to choose outside of the Planterra are DJ/band, photographer/videographer, and officiant. They also made this incredibly easy since they have a list of people they work with and that they know do a great job. If you choose to get married at the Planterra you will not be disappointed!

Working with this venue was literally a dream come true. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and when we walked into the reception space and saw everything set up, it completely took our breath away. Planterra was amazing in the days leading up to the event as well. David, Anne, Tiffany, and Caitlin are some of the most organized people we have ever met, and they do so many weddings that they anticipate all possible things that could go wrong ahead of time. Our family and friends were so impressed; many people told us it was the most beautiful wedding they ever attended, and it certainly was for us! We were also planning our wedding from several states away, so the fact that Planterra is an all-inclusive venue was supremely helpful for us. They made every aspect of the plans we had talked about as a couple together come to life, and in a way that was so beautiful and stress-free that we will always remember it as one of the most incredible days we have ever lived through. Some quick notes about the food and service as well: the food was honestly some of the best food I have ever eaten. My napkin fell out of my lap several times without me noticing throughout the night, and Planterra’s staff always brought me a new one discreetly. The bartenders and waitstaff were wonderful to our guests and to us. The fact that we had a VIP server assigned to us helped us to relax and take the time to enjoy the food and drinks! Thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts, to Planterra for creating the ceremony (and party) of a lifetime – we’ve never felt more in love than we did walking down the aisle in that gorgeous venue.

A beautiful botanical garden venue that goes above and beyond to give you and your guests the best experience possible.We originally planned our wedding ceremony and reception with Planterra for October 2020, but that plan quickly changed when COVID-19 became widespread. Planterra quickly responded to our request to move our date to 2021 and change to just a reception. The planning process was seamless, and I always felt like every effort was made to accommodate our requests. David, Anne, and Kirsten were incredible to work with and kept us on top of our important deadlines. My reception guests RAVED about the decorations, food, and service. Planterra is more expensive than other venues in Michigan, but they handle so much more than just the venue itself - our rentals, florals, catering, and day-of coordination were all taken care of by them. The peace-of-mind and fantastic results were definitely worth the cost.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was a Corona bride that cancelled my wedding well before my scheduled date. Zero things were planned, but not a penny of my deposit was returned to me. They even tried to charge me another $5,000 to cancel on top of the $6,000 we lost for a deposit. This family owned business did receive money from the government during covid also. The owner Shawn Pliska didn’t care about anyone but himself. Have friends in the wedding industry that told me planterra was difficult to work with as well. Recommend going literally anywhere else.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was a Corona bride that cancelled my wedding well before my scheduled date. Zero things were planned, but not a penny of my deposit was returned to me. They even tried to charge me another $5,000 to cancel on top of the $6,000 we lost for a deposit. This family owned business did receive money from the government during covid also. The owner Shawn Pliska didn’t care about anyone but himself. Have friends in the wedding industry that told me planterra was difficult to work with as well. Recommend going literally anywhere else.

Planterra only wants to work with you if you are preparing for a $40,000 wedding! Right before the pandemic my son and future daughter in law booked Planterra for their May 21, 2021 wedding. In December 2020 when my son, who is a doctor realized even with the shot, this was not a good idea. He was given options: postpone the date, have a micro wedding (which would still cost $15,000 for 3 hrs and there were lies within that proposal, too), etc ., but never did we hear “We’ll return your deposit”. We understand what the contract said about the deposit, but these are not normal times. Furthermore, this company received PPP money from the federal government so they have not lost any wages. Only gained at my son’s expense. They never used David other than for him to answer questions. Food tasting was postponed from January to February, no flowers were decided on or even spoken about, etc. Sad to say, they ripped us off!!

Planterra is the most incredible wedding venue, hands down. I cannot imagine having my wedding anywhere else. My day-of planner (provided for by the venue), Kirsten, was incredible. Planning a micro wedding during a pandemic is stressful and we were extremely concerned about safety. They answered all of my questions so promptly, worked with the restrictions to make sure we were I compliance, and still made it feel like a wonderful, magical day. The food is amazing. It’s like eating at a five-star restaurant. Everyone raved about the meal. The filet was cooked to perfection, the potatoes melted in your mouth, and the veggies looked like a work of art. The specialty drinks were also amazing. We requested lesser known tiki drinks and they were out of this world incredible. Not overly alcoholic, and tasted like something you get at a craft cocktail bar. And then there were the flowers...my god it was a dream! I took them all home because I didn’t want to part with them. Be aware they are extremely popular (for a reason) so plan to book far out (like 18-24 months). But believe me when I say it is worth the wait!!!

I loved that they gave us a list of vendors to work with; I could not have planned my wedding without their expertise and professionalism. We originally were supposed to have our wedding on 3.28.2020, but Covid hit, and we were forced to postpone to 10.30.2020. Planterra was willing to work with us and kept us updated on local mandates since we live out of state. Our day was flawless; Kirsten and Tiffany did an excellent job of making sure everything was perfect. We were on schedule (and even ahead of schedule at times) due to their hard work and dedication. We got so many compliments from guests about how gorgeous the venue is. Guests also commented on how delicious the food was. I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue nor could I have asked for better staff to work with. Love Planterra so much!

Every last detail of our wedding at Planterra was amazing! The planning staff guided us through all of the decisions and helped us create a magical night with zero stress day-of. Kirsten managed everything at the wedding perfectly - she even saved us some pastries when we got busy dancing! I cannot recommend them highly enough - many of our guests have said our wedding was the most beautiful one they had ever been to, and a huge contributor to that is the gorgeous venue and florals at Planterra.

Every last detail of our wedding at Planterra was amazing! The planning staff guided us through all of the decisions and helped us create a magical night with zero stress day-of. Kirsten managed everything at the wedding perfectly - she even saved us some pastries when we got busy dancing! I cannot recommend them highly enough - many of our guests have said our wedding was the most beautiful one they had ever been to, and a huge contributor to that is the gorgeous venue and florals at Planterra.

From the moment my now husband and I first walked through the front doors for our venue tour, we both looked at each other and knew – we HAD to get married here. No questions asked. Our vision for our wedding was greenery, and at first we thought that meant outside, however, outside usually leaned more towards rustic and you always had to worry about weather. Once we found Planterra, you get the greenery vibe but with an upscale, romantic, and elegant twist and you didn’t have to worry at all about the weather. It is truly the most stunning venue imaginable. But what sets Planterra even further apart from other venues is the service. The INCREDIBLE service. From initial planning meetings with David, to quickly answered emails from Anne and Megan, to the tasting event done up like a wedding, to floral and rental sample reviews, to the day-of coordinators and staff making sure every single detail went off without a glitch – THE SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING. You feel totally involved in the wedding planning process, and your vision is seen so clearly, but then the day comes and you are not in charge of anything – it’s all done for you. You drop off your personal items the night before and everything is packaged back up for you the morning after. How easy and effortless is that?! Planterra’s all in one packaging that includes venue, design, floral, catering and bar makes your life planning SO much easier. Everyone would ask me if I was stressed about wedding planning and I always laughed at that question – because no, I was not at all – due to the fact that Planterra had everything covered for me. We wondered how the temperature would be for our May 10th wedding, would it get too hot? Would guests be sweating? The answer was no, the temperature in the conservatory was always a consistent comfortable temp, and having the glass ceiling made for beautiful sunny pictures during the day and star-lit photos at night. To this day, people are telling me that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding that they had ever and will ever go to and that the service, staff and décor was beyond wonderful. That’s such a great feeling to know that our day made such an impact on everyone else too! Thank you, thank you for making our day SO truly wonderful and beautiful!! We will cherish these memories of our greenhouse fairytale wedding forever!

I normally only leave reviews if I had a terrible experience but Planterra has exceeded my expectations and I have to make it known. Planterra itself is such a unique venue. Yes, it is expensive but it was worth every penny. My husband and I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana so planning a wedding in Michigan was a challenge. But Planterra made the process less stressful and easy for us. David was amazing. He was very understanding and had great input on ideas. Five stars, no debate. If I could give more I would. You get what you pay for, and although Planterra’s prices may seem higher than other places you look at, you really do get top notch service from an amazing team as well as high end food, drinks, decor, and floral arrangements. It feels like an all-inclusive package due to their contracted vendors, which took so much of the coordination and decision making stress off of my shoulders. I wouldn’t have done even one thing differently for our February wedding, and I am constantly getting told by guests that it was the most incredible wedding they’ve ever been to. There is no reason to even look at another venue for a winter wedding; you can have a beautiful garden wedding in the middle of dreary Michigan weather! There was not one time where I thought the staff could have done something differently, they anticipated everything I needed. Not to mention that David basically has wedding planning down to a science and had a solution for every thought or question I had during the planning process. The day of coordinators were all fabulous and made us feel like royalty. We had a sweetheart table behind our intimate guest seating arrangement (long tables as opposed to rounds, very cool) so we got to just sit back for a minute and watch our guests interact and enjoy their time in the candlelight. It was the most magical(yes every other review uses this word— it’s the most accurate) place to have a wedding and if you are within their guest count limits, you MUST check them out. I wish I could add a picture here!

I had my wedding at Planterra on 10/13/18. It a word: INCREDIBLE. From the beginning, planning with David was always simple and organized. We had a slight hiccup that was solved within an hour of realizing it. As for the day of the wedding, it could not have been a better experience. The venue was STUNNING. Every. Single. Detail. From the place settings, to the additional floral accents and candles. I walked in for my early portraits with my girls and immediately started crying. It was absolutely magical. The staff was so attentive and caring. Our coordinator, Tiffany, made sure all of our needs were met. She kept things upbeat when I got nervous and gently guided us through the schedule to keep everything on time. Our VIP server, Mousa, was on top of his game all night. He kept us with fresh drinks in our hands and I never went without anything! He even went as far as to pack up snacks for after the night ended for the groom and I. There were several other things that this venue did to make our night special, but I don’t want to ruin the fun for any couples who choose to have their wedding here! Thank you to David, Megan, Tiffany, Mous and the rest of the staff for easily the most magical and gorgeous night of our lives. We can not recommend Planterra enough. Forever a Planterra bride 💚

I had my wedding at Planterra on 10/13/18. It a word: INCREDIBLE. From the beginning, planning with David was always simple and organized. Erika and I used Planterra for our March wedding. When talking about Planterra, you have to start with the venue itself. It is absolutely beautiful. There is nothing else like it in the metro Detroit area. The entire venue changes through the course of your wedding going from a beautiful sunlight day, to sunset, and finally to an amazing star filled night. It is truly awe inspiring. Beyond the venue itself, the staff was also truly fantastic. They were incredibly attentive and yet unobtrusive. Our dedicated server could not have been more on the ball for us. The food was phenomenal. From the filet mignon, to the creme brule, to the coffee bar, our guests were raving. Doing their own floral, it is a floral that is hand-picked for this venue. This includes the venue decorations, the bouquet and boutonnières. The candelabras glowed to make the scene complete. Every guest we had at our wedding said that Planterra is the best venue they have ever seen and we agree wholeheartedly.

What an amazing place. Staff was exceptional, the space is surreal in its beauty, it was so gorgeous, I have wedding guests that still can’t get over how stunning this place was. The staff made the day effortless. The food was out of this world, the flowers were stunning and perfect, the bar was quick and the valet was great. I have to give a shout out to David, the king of planning, his sense of style and taste took our wedding from great to out of this world. He was also funny and super easy to talk to, he added a lot of fun to the tedious details. No regrets.

What an amazing place. Staff was exceptional, the space is surreal in its beauty, it was so gorgeous, I have wedding guests that still can’t get over how stunning this place was. GORGEOUS VENUE, MEDIOCRE SERVICEPlanterra is a beautiful venue and they will promise you a lot of details during the wedding planning process; however, the day-of service was very rough around the edges. Planterra decided to close the bar after the ceremony to “settle in” guests. This was never mentioned during any of the meetings or calls. My dad was livid and running around trying to remedy this issue. There was no reason for bar to be closed at that time since first dance and hora were next and we actually wanted people up and not seated. This mistake cause us a lot of unnecessary stress. Planterra reimbursed us for the time the bar was closed, but of course we would have much rather had the bar open and not deal with this issue than have a few hundred dollars back. We ordered lamb chops as an additional appetizer during cocktail hour and they were served rare. I told Planterra in advance many times that my family only eats well-done meat and their steaks need to be served that way, but they didn’t warn me or mention anything about the rare lamb chops. Instead of at least being served medium, the lamb chops were visibly red on the outside and many guests did not enjoy them. We were supposed to have a waiter assigned to us and we didn’t see him at all. We ordered dirty martinis and were served lemon drop mix with olives. It took a long time to find another waiter to replace this mistake. We also paid extra to have a waiter assigned to my dad, who did not check in with him either. The waiters ignored the color stickers on the place cards and served a dairy meal to my husband when all the notes said groom is allergic to dairy. I heard from other people that they had to switch plates too. Seems like waiters just plopped down entrees without caring for allergies or dietary restrictions, even though I filled in Planterra’s seating chart and put colored coded stickers on the place cards, just how Planterra asked. Planterra promised to pack up one of every dessert for me and my husband but instead just gave me back the an entire unopened box of the same truffles I paid to have shipped from NYC (which I have all the time)... I’m disappointed I skipped the dessert buffet because Planterra promised I’d have their desserts packed to go and they never delivered on this promise. Our welcome sign was left in the middle of the room right before the guests arrived (not at the front where a welcome sign should be) and our kippahs were placed inside-out on the front table. During my hectic wedding day, I personally had to walk through and point out these details to Planterra employees to fix. On a positive note, the flowers and decor were beautiful and the room looked even better than I had imagined. I was very happy with my bouquet - the style and colors matched perfectly to the inspiration pictures I sent. When we arrived, the bridal suite was set up perfectly for us in the afternoon. The pictures we have so far are beautiful. Overall, Planterra doesn’t care about executing a flawless event down to the details because they know they will have customers regardless since the setting is so stunning.

There was no reason for bar to be closed at that time since first dance and hora were next and we actually wanted people up and not seated. This mistake cause us a lot of unnecessary stress. Planterra reimbursed us for the time the bar was closed, but of course we would have much rather had the bar open and not deal with this issue than have a few hundred dollars back. We ordered lamb chops as an additional appetizer during cocktail hour and they were served rare. I told Planterra in advance many times that my family only eats well-done meat and their steaks need to be served that way, but they didn’t warn me or mention anything about the rare lamb chops. Instead of at least being served medium, the lamb chops were visibly red on the outside and many guests did not enjoy them. We were supposed to have a waiter assigned to us and we didn’t see him at all. We ordered dirty martinis and were served lemon drop mix with olives. It took a long time to find another waiter to replace this mistake. We also paid extra to have a waiter assigned to my dad, who did not check in with him either. The waiters ignored the color stickers on the place cards and served a dairy meal to my husband when all the notes said groom is allergic to dairy. I heard from other people that they had to switch plates too. Seems like waiters just plopped down entrees without caring for allergies or dietary restrictions, even though I filled in Planterra’s seating chart and put colored coded stickers on the place cards, just how Planterra asked. Planterra promised to pack up one of every dessert for me and my husband but instead just gave me back the an entire unopened box of the same truffles I paid to have shipped from NYC (which I have all the time)... I’m disappointed I skipped the dessert buffet because Planterra promised I’d have their desserts packed to go and they never delivered on this promise. Our welcome sign was left in the middle of the room right before the guests arrived (not at the front where a welcome sign should be) and our kippahs were placed inside-out on the front table. During my hectic wedding day, I personally had to walk through and point out these details to Planterra employees to fix. On a positive note, the flowers and decor were beautiful and the room looked even better than I had imagined. I was very happy with my bouquet - the style and colors matched perfectly to the inspiration pictures I sent. When we arrived, the bridal suite was set up perfectly for us in the afternoon. The pictures we have so far are beautiful. Overall, Planterra doesn’t care about executing a flawless event down to the details because they know they will have customers regardless since the setting is so stunning.

Our guests still have not stopped raving about how gorgeous the venue was, how friendly and attentive the staff people were, and how incredible the food was. They made us and all of our guests feel like royalty. Throughout the entire process, from the first tour to our food tasting to our planning meetings, they truly seemed to do their best to make us as happy as possible and give us exactly the wedding we were dreaming of. Planterra took such great care of us and as a bride, I can say that my stress was so minimal because of them. I can honestly look back at our wedding day and say that I would not go back and change a single thing!

Planterra itself is a beautiful & unique location. But it's more than that - the staff is professional, helfpul, responsive and supportive. The food and service are exceptional. Their florals are exquisit and a work of art! They paid attention to our pintrest board to carefully craft the design and feeling we wanted to evoke on our wedding day. Every guest has continued to tell me that our wedding was the most memorable because of the location and that they loved the wait staff taking care of them. I thought it was just me! As the bride I always had water, cocktail and food! They're quick to set up and take down. They're organized, responsive to emails, and willing to work around schedules even when the couple is from out of state (video chats in the evenings!) It was beautiful, every detail was tended too, and everyone was excited for our day there! They sure know how to throw a party. The glass roof gives for a romantic starry night. And everyone I spoke to, emailed, worked with in some manner was there at set up! They are fantastic and we couldn't be more grateful for their services.

Of all the venues we visited Planterra was by far the most disappointing. The space is wonderfully unconventional, but the accommodations left a lot to be desired. The answer to every (seemingly basic) question was a variation of no and their quote (35k for 100 people on a Friday) apples to apples came in about 10k higher than all of the other comparable venues we visited. \r\rWe arrived a little before our appointment time and were told that David was finishing up his previous appointment. That was the last we were acknowledged by anyone. In the meantime, a couple and their wedding party showed up for their rehearsal - though irrelevant to our experience, I would've been really annoyed if the tables were turned and I was going through my ceremony rehearsal in the presence of strangers. Finally almost 30 minutes after our scheduled time David walked the other appointment out and with no apology took us into the room. He was well versed and pleasant enough but as I said not very flexible. Since it was the first venue we visited we weren't sure if maybe we were just asking for things that were unusual, but when every other venue answered yes no problem, we realized that Planterra really was just unreasonable. Based on all of the rave reviews I thought maybe we caught them on a bad day, but every interaction following was equally underwhelming. \r\rI was very disappointed because Planterra as described in reviews and as pictured was exactly what we thought we were looking for, but as the party being asked to pay 35k you really shouldn't be the one bending over backward to make something work. \r\rIn the end we found another unconventional and extremely beautiful venue that better fit our needs. So moral of the story, just like in finding the person that you're planning this wedding with, don't settle, there are plenty of options out there.

What I loved most about Planterra is that much of the planning was taken care of through the venue: flowers, food, linens, chairs, etc. Really the only thing that I was responsible for was a DJ and photographer, both of which I used per the recommendation of the staff at Planterra. \rOverall, my experience was top-notch. The service was INCREDIBLE - the wait staff seemed to know exactly when we needed new drinks or snacks. They were so friendly and we were always greeted with a smile. The venue itself is beautiful, you don't need much additional decoration as the candles and flowers and other greenery speak for themselves. \rI worked a lot with David, Anne, Megan & Tiffany and they were all outstanding through the planning process and also on the day of the wedding. I cannot say enough great things about the people and the space. Thank you, Planterra, for making my wedding day absolutely perfect!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Planterra over the weekend, and OMG it was incredible. From the very beginning stages of planning to the very end, they took care of every little detail. This is the perfect venue for someone that doesn't necessarily want to be over involved in decor or just doesn't know where to start. David is amazing and thinks of all the little things. We got so many compliments on the food, one from a private chef who said it's the best wedding food she has ever had. The atmosphere was so romantic and elegant, and I have never seen a more beautiful event space. It is SO much more unique than your average hall space. Choosing Planterra for our venue was the best decision we made, and I would recommend it to any engaged couple wanting something different than more typical weddings.

We loved the Planterra from the moment we saw it. We knew it would be the perfect space for our unique wedding - no one we know has ever gotten married in a place like this! Too bad the office staff is inconsiderate and incompetent. They obviously know brides and grooms will put up with their crap to have their wedding at this venue. More than once I called, ready to drive up there with our deposit after coordinating with the reception site for a wedding date that both had available, only to find that they already gave our date to someone else. Only a few days had passed each time, and they gave us no waring or put a hold on the dates for me to have enough time to get in touch with our reception venue.\r\rWe had problems on more than one occasion, and the Event Coordinator, David, was pompous and rude our first few meetings. We were only having our ceremony there and they seemed not to care about us since they weren't getting as much money as they would for the entire wedding. \r\rAfter dozens of email from multiple people, things finally started falling into place. The rehearsal went smoothly thanks to Jen, she really changed my opinion of the people working there after just an hour or so. Thankfully she is working there, she should be the only one allowed to communicate with the public.\r\rWhile they were a nightmare to deal with, they do know how to throw a wedding, and everything was gorgeous on our big day. The perk about having your wedding here is that they include the officiant, a musician, flowers, and a toast at the end! I would recommend this place SOLELY on the wow-factor and how beautiful our pictures are!

The Venue was a fairytale. From the moment I walked in to see the venue, David was there to help out. All the planning and discussing, I was so anxious to see how it would all turn out on the big day. Seeing the vision come together was more than I could ever ask for. The food was incredible, and I couldn't have asked for better help on the day of. Everything went so smoothly, I absolutely recommend this venue for someone else's fairy tale.

Very unique and romantic setting, especially at night. The staff is wonderful and they take care of everything. You can be involved as much, or as little, as you want in the details. They do floral, rentals, food (very yummy), decorations, linens, etc. You only need a DJ, photographer, and cake. It's perfect for busy brides! My only complaint was that they upcharged us handsomely for adding a local microbrew to the beer selection, and then only purchased 1 case of 24 bottles. It was gone within 30 minutes. Other than that little glitch, everything was wonderful.

Meet the Planterra Conservatory Team
David Di Vincenzo (Events Director) David has been directing events for Planterra clients since 2010. He designs each event – from menu, décor, floral and every detail in between - to make our clients’ visions come to life. He has 15 years of professional experience in arts fundraising, programming and event planning and worked at PaceMacGill Gallery, The Noguchi Museum and one of Estee Lauder’s family foundations in New York. David holds a B.A. from Albion College and an M.A. from Brooklyn College and also attended the Atelier Léo Marchutz in Aix-en-Provence, France.
