Historic Port Gamble offers two charming wedding venues in Kitsap County to help create your perfect wedding and reception.
The beautifully restored St. Paul's Church, built in 1879, provides a classic ceremony space complete with the original 1879 bell tower for couples to ring in the start of their marriage.
The Hood Canal Vista Pavilion offers breathtaking panoramic water views over Hood Canal. With a large and airy building, sprawling green lawns, and in the summer months an included tented terrace. The pavilion offers both ceremony and reception spaces in one venue!

We had our September wedding in St. Paul’s Church and the reception at HoodCanal Pavilion and we cannot imagine a better venue for our wedding day. The venue is unique andbeautiful and perfectly showcased the beauty of the Pacific Northwest to both local and visiting guests.Soon after reserving our wedding date, we attended the open house in March which included many ofthe wedding vendors we ultimately hired. Being able to meet vendors in-person made for a veryproductive day! All of the vendors we used for our wedding were from the Port Gamble preferredvendor list and/or vendors we met in person at the open house. They were all small businesses wherethe owner was directly involved. The bonus was that these vendors all knew each other and had workedtogether, some for years. For us it felt like we had been welcomed into a seasoned community thatwere together helping us create our special day. I would not have changed a thing about the beautiful venue and site; however, unless you are utilizing all of their advertised services - i.e., tables & chairs, day-of planning, etc - it can be a bit pricey. As soon as you out-source for anything unique, their staff is unable to assist in any of the setup/planning and it led us to have to hire more vendors, etc. The snowball grew very quickly, so it all depends on what you want for your wedding theme! We personally LOVED the entire staff and they were super friendly and as helpful as they could have been - we just decided on a more unique style that didn't use their equipment and quickly realized that much of the cost in the venue was wasted and in many cases, doubly spent on vendors who were hired to create our wedding! A week later something came up and we had to request the venues three months away. Eric was extremely workable and got us on the calendar without delay. They made sure we knew all local options for vendors and assisted in contacting them with us. Any questions we had they were prompt and precise in getting our information.\rDuring all of our planning and preparation Eric and Dionne made the experience relieving and easier than expected. When we asked for access to the venue with other vendors or requested time with either of them, they were always available during the weekend and always ready for our late arrivals if we missed the ferry, etc. Eric always welcomed us with a huge hello, welcoming smile, and hug.\r\rDuring the big day, Dionne tirelessly ran around between the St. Paul’s Church, Pavilion, and General Store to make sure our wedding party was being taken care of had all the access we needed. The set up was done exactly how we asked with their professional touch and adjustments. They handled every last minute decision with great ease and consistently made us feel relaxed. Eric was awesome with coordinating and managing the ceremony and reception and ensured all of the guests had the time of their life. The location is very convenient to Seattle, despite the need for a ferry – only a fifteen minute drive from the Kingston ferry terminal. Bainbridge is also easy. The church was absolutely gorgeous in its renovated condition with a water view from the steps. A beautiful backdrop for photos. It conveniently has a piano and the staff set up a bridal changing area downstairs. We were also able to use the other changing rooms for the groom (near the General Store) free of charge. In the summer, you could have your reception on the patio adjacent to the church (or use the church basement). We had our reception a couple blocks away at the pavilion. Guests can walk through the adorable town with restored old homes/shops and white picket fences if the weather is nice – tons of great photo backdrops. There is convenient parking at both the church and pavilion. The beautiful pavilion is filled with windows and the view of the water is second to none. There are also gardens and a patio around the pavilion which can be used if the weather is nice.\r\rThroughout the wedding planning process, the Port Gamble staff promptly returned phone calls and emails, eliminating lots of potential stress. They went above and beyond with helping set up the reception. The rehearsal went smoothly thanks to their expertise. We asked them about hidden fees on several occasions, and in the end, the $3000 venue cost us over $4000 in fees and \"additional, miscellaneous costs\". Additionally, the Wedding Coordinator, Julie McAfee is constantly \"on vacation\" when you need her, most, and dealing with her assistant, Erin, just gets you riled up because of her lack of competence, her unwillingness to be helpful and her cold, unprofessionalism. It's a historic town, founded in 1853, with a chapel and a reception hall overlooking the Hood Canal. We were married at St. Paul's Church and held our reception at the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion (which is just 3 blocks away). The steepled church feels like it came out of a fairy tale. It was the perfect size for my guest list (about 130). I'll never forget turning the corner into the sanctuary and seeing everyone I love there to support me. I love that the venue was intimate enough that I can say that. The Hood Canal Vista Pavilion is a stunning reception hall built in 2009 in the historic 1850's style. It fits the town so well you would swear it had been there all along. When we came in for set up all of the tables and chairs (which were included in the rental price) were in their places - which meant that our set up was faster and easier. After the formalities we opened the french doors and our guests really enjoyed wandering the lawn and taking in the view. \r\rI was so grateful for all of the help I recieved from the staff here. Beforehand, the wedding coordinator worked directly with my vendors to make sure that the timing for pictures and set up went without a hitch. The day of coordinators were both available by cell phone for the duration of my event. They met us at the venues when we arrived to make sure everything was going smoothly and to find out if we needed anything. They helped prompt my wedding party down the aisle for the ceremony. These girls went above and beyond their call of duty by working closely with my vendors to pull off my perfect wedding day. \r\rOne of my favorite things about getting married here is the small town feel. We got to take advantage of the whole town for photo ops with my photographer. We took pictures overlooking the water, by the water towers, in front of the old fire hall, by the General Store, with traffic stopped as we crossed the two land highway. These are pictures you can't get anywhere else. \r\rThe list of caterers Port Gamble works with were wonderful to work with. We ended up going with Le Garmache and was very happy with that decision. \r\rI would recommend getting married in Port Gamble to any bride! Reviewed on 13-05-2010
