For my wedding in 2021 I chose this venue. It was a major mistake. It seemed like a good deal but each vendor disappointed us in some way. First of all, they lied about several things. I was promised a room to get ready in several times. That did not happen. I got put in a room full of junk and was the employee's break room. My personal belongings repeatedly got moved and misplaced throughout the night. They lied about this fact up until the day before my wedding. Kelly promised that at worst I would have the women's locker room and that ended up being a complete lie. The videographers increased the price by $300 1 week before the event date. They said it was because of the drone footage. I showed them the agreement which stated that drones were included in the original price. They then came up with, \"We upgraded our cameras to 4k.\" This turned out to be iPhones. Yup they filmed my wedding video with iPhones. They also refused to provide the raw footage and only the edited version. DJ Jason was good but used the wrong version of our first dance song. Very upsetting. We paid an additional $3,000 for more appetizers which did not happen. They just stole our money because we ran out of appetizers 30 minutes into cocktail hour. They blamed the band for eating the appetizers when we did not tell the band to eat them, also the band was playing during cocktail hour so I'm not sure how they could be responsible. They just cheated us. We had to pay $140 per bottle of vodka on each table. 2 were missing and we had to call that out. Lastly, Kelly instructed the flower company to do the opposite of what was asked, and we got an email from the vendor asking for additional money after she did that. It was the happiest day of my life, but was almost ruined by the venue. I would definitely have gone with Knollwood over them if I had known all of this. They should be ashamed. I couldn't even enjoy my wedding because so many things went wrong. Reviewed on 30-09-2023

Jocelyn Francis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2021 I loved having my wedding at Porter Valley Country Club. Kelly, the wedding coordinator was fantastic. She and her husband went out of their way to spend hours constructing a wooden heart made of tennis balls to go behind our sweetheart table because my husband and I met on the tennis court. She was also very responsive whenever I had questions or needed to text her even though she doesn’t get paid for that extra time. She even drove us home after the wedding! She is definitely the best day of coordinator ever and goes above and beyond for her bride and groom. On top of Kelly being wonderful, the facility is also fantastic. We loved having a sunset wedding out on the golf course and then having cocktails on the patio area under heat lamps. It was gorgeous! The reception room was also beautifully decorated. I loved our florist Shirley and our DJ as well. This venue is super affordable and I highly recommend! Reviewed on 11-05-2022
Naomi L(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-03-2022 My (now) husband and I recently had our wedding at PVCC and it was PERFECTION. The set-up and scenery were beautiful, the buffet was delicious (we got so many compliments!), and the staff and vendors were cohesive and efficient. Julie was our sales/contract coordinator and Kelly was our day-of coordinator. There isn't enough praise in the world for these 2 individuals. We had some hiccups in the last month leading up to the wedding (the venue had been under construction and we weren't notified of some major changes, we dropped below our minimum going from 150 to 100 guests, etc.) but Julie always addressed our concerns and worked out all last-minute hurdles. Kelly was more than a day-of coordinator but a caring, helpful presence from the very beginning.I would recommend this venue for the food and beauty, but honestly the team we worked with there was what really puts PVCC over the top. About three months before the date, the restrictions were somewhat lifted and we decided to try and find a venue for the celebration. I live near PVCC and decided to wander in and see what they could offer. The staff could not have been more accommodating!! They worked it out so everything we wanted ft into our budget. Not only that, we were informed that our all- inclusive package came a photographer, D.J. , open bar, and other additions that added that special touch. One wonderful perk was a party planner named Kelly. Kelly was awesome. She helped us with so many aspects of our planning. From decorations to food selection, Kelly helped us make choices that were budget friendly and at the affair. Kelly and her staff decorated the room elegantly and though she was only contracted to stay at the party for 3 hours, she stayed the entire night to ensure that the guests had a wonderful time (She also ensured that my cocktails were magically refilled:) PVCC is a beautiful venue with excellent staff that will help you plan a party that will be remembered for a life-time. Caren Cubbellotti(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2018 The bad review is based solely on the terrible management from Porter Valley. We booked our wedding here because we loved how the venue looked and it was one of the only places available on the date we wanted. The day we booked, we were taken care of by Patricia Elias. She was friendly during the booking process but after we put in our down payment, she wasn’t as pleasant. She always took a while to respond to our questions via email. Some she wouldn’t even respond until my coordinator emailed her again. When she would reply, it would be very short. She also wasn’t very friendly when I took my own wedding coordinator to the venue. She was very straight faced and just always seemed annoyed. Coming closer to the wedding date, we decided to take Patricia’s suggestion to hire one of their in house coordinators, Kelly to work with my coordinator since Kelly knew the venue well. Kelly was okay but very pushy. Our ceremony was slightly non traditional and we had the sense she kept wanting to change our minds on what we wanted done. Example, we really wanted our bar inside because we had an open bar and we didnt think it made sense for our guest to keep walking outside to get their drinks. It was a long debate between Kelly and my coordinator. I also had a few complaints from my other outside vendors that Kelly was not very nice to them. Kelly was very nice to me and my husband but she was very pushy on her ways, so definitely stand your ground. The venue does deserve a few stars because the food was amazing and so were the servers on our wedding day. As for Patricia, we never heard from her or saw her after we made our final payment. Shows a lot about their business. Reviewed on 13-10-2018

Sarah Lee(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-12-2017 Though the set package seems to be a good deal at the beginning, there are a lot of add on costs. Since they are both a country club and a wedding venue, there is little flexibility in planning for rehearsals as well as wedding start time. They have afternoon and evening events with only one room so I recommend being sure about your start time and clarifying rehearsal time availability before signing the contract. Porter Ranch tends to be windy so having a ceremony by their fountain can be tricky, and their proximity to Aliso Canyon also caused some worry prior to the day of the ceremony. The reception space has been newly renovated so it photographs well and the food was great but there were still a lot of things missing from the service side: 1. The staff disappeared with my maid of honor's credit card after she had bought shots for the wedding party before the outdoor ceremony in the cold. She missed out on a significant portion of wedding photos before the ceremony because she was tracking down her credit card (they also charged a 20% service charge because she had ordered for more than 6 people). 2. We had given them an excel spreadsheet, meal cards, as well as multiple emails specifying that a guest had a nut allergy. Our guest was served nuts on his salad. 3. They mixed up the champagne punch and nonalcoholic punch signs. We notified the staff but this did not get changed. A guest at the wedding changed the signs for us because they did not want any more children getting champagne punch and because we had some pregnant guests at the wedding. 4. This is not a service issue but you should expect to have golfers in your wedding photos. Reviewed on 07-01-2018
Gabrielle Arnone(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2017 We got married on September 17, 2017 at this venue, and it was absolutely our dream wedding. Not just because of the gorgeous outdoor ceremony, or elegantly redone reception room, but also because the team there is impeccably good at what they do. And they have big hearts! Patricia, Julie, Brian and Chris made the day perfect from the inside out. They all answered any questions we had and were more than willing to work with whatever we were envisioning for the event. Every wedding, every couple, is unique and has different needs; it was evident they appreciate this, and desire to make the day a successful event with happy bride and groom, happy guests, and what works best with the venue. A tough balance they easily danced through. Also, the list of vendors they recommend is stellar. We used Shannon as our coordinator and Ceasar Flores (DJ CEE). Shannon was a rockstar and Ceasar made the reception run flawlessly, as well as our food captain Chris. We had a guest count starting at 350, ended up with 300. The price is budget-friendly even for large parties, the food is DELICIOUS and came out hot. Rentals were in pristine condition. Anonymous (bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 I got engaged in April and had my wedding here on October 25th so we only had 6 months to plan everything! I worked mainly with Patricia to coordinate everything and she was very helpful. Julie helped at the rehearsal since Patricia was out that day and she did a wonderful job as well. \r\rThis venue was so convenient for most of our guests to get to and is a hidden gem in the valley. Our ceremony took place by the lake which was beautiful! However, they didn't clean up all the duck poop by the lake which made taking pictures more difficult than it should've been. I think they only cleared out the poop at the ceremony site. If I had known they didn't clean up all the poop before every event (no brainer!), I would've requested that be done in advance. Most of our photographing session was spent finding a spot where the bridal party could stand together without standing in duck poop!\r\rI really loved the package deal at PVCC. It came with the cake, DJ, florist and a complimentary photobooth which everyone LOVED! The photobooth prints out 2 copies of the photos so that guests can have a copy and they can put the 2nd in a scrapbook for the bride & groom. I absolutely love looking at our scrapbook - everyone had so much fun with it, especially the kids! Make sure you ask for the digital copies too! \r\rThe package deal is very flexible. They give you a list of vendors to choose from so you can do your research and find the vendors that suit your style the best. It also makes it easy to find vendors because they are all very local and know the folks at PVCC very well already! We used Delicious Bakery, Village Florist and Jeff Atlas as our DJ. I would highly recommend all of them!\r\rWe were told we would get a butler for the night but it turned out it was a \"room captain\" and we barely saw him at all during the night. They kind of screwed up our grand entrance because they didn't open up the doors at the right point in the song to make our grand entrance really GRAND. It was okay and people still got a kick out of it but it could've been better.\r\rThe other fluke that happened is if you're doing photos by the lake before the ceremony starts, make sure they keep the doors to the reception room closed so that gusts don't start wondering outside at the ceremony site and see you taking pictures. I told them to keep the doors closed but they didn't, so we ran into that issue a bit. I had my bridal party take everyone back to the foyer to wait until we were done. Again, that was wasted time when we could've been taking pictures.\r\rIf you get married here, I would highly recommend getting your florist to drape the wedding arch. It is an upgrade but well worth it. The wedding arch without draping looks very bare & ugly. I would also recommend getting your DJ to bring uplighting. It really brings the room to life and looks great in pictures\r\rBe aware that there is no place for the bride to get ready at PVCC. There is a room the bridal party can use but you'll need to get hair & makeup done elsewhere. The girls got ready at our house and that worked out great. I'm so glad we got ready at home because it is just a more comfortable environment and you have any last minute things you need. At PVCC, just make sure you put a sign on the door to the bridal party room so guests don't accidentally wander in while you're getting dressed.\r\rThe food here was great although I barely got to eat any of it! The banquet staff and Banquet lead Christopher did everything they could to fix all the glitches and ensure we had an amazing time. I would have gave 5 Stars had it not been for the lack of service from Patricia the party planner. There was a members event going on at the same time of my wedding and that took priority over our wedding and her has our wedding planner. Several things were not as discussed and she was hardly around in the beginning to take care of it. She told the wedding party to keep it down as they were walking outside to the ceremony site . Our so-called rehearsal consisted of giving her the names of the wedding party having them line up by height and that was it. We were not allowed to \"rehearse\" and was treated as if the $1200+ we spent did not matter . Everything besides Patricia was great! Reviewed on 28-05-2014

Porter Valley Country Club had everything a dream venue could have to offer. As a bidesmaid to a busy bride, a nervous groom, and two excited moms, I can say on their behalf that this long awaited wedding left no room for error or delay. This unique wedding needed a venue that could meet the wishes of a young and edgy couple but also create an elegant and breathtaking event for all to share. Having said that, Porter Valley offered an all inclusive experience with many options for vendors that fit the couples style and vision to a T. As for the service on the day of, there was not a minute after arrival or before goodbyes that we were not waited on hand and foot. Words could not describe how perfectly everything was placed. From the beautiful water fountain view at the ceremony, to the jaw dropping reception set up. The flowers, the color theme, the centerpieces, the cake.. Perfect Perfect Perfect! And the FOOD.... Everyone agreed, the salad and main course were as delicious as the day of the food tasting. As for the DJ(Cesar), he kept the dance floor full of life and celebration all night. He made a personal effort to get to know the bride and groom and their particular taste in the soundtrack of their wedding. From Jimi Hendrix and ACDC, to Rick James and 311, The DJ captured the unique sounds that the couple wanted, making the night that much more special. \rPorter Valley Country Club did an exceptional job making the whole family a top priority by providing outstanding services, personal connections, and a smooth experience. Their vendor choices helped narrow down my search and I loved each vendor I picked. I did have to pay some out of pocket to upgrade (e.g. more flowers, bigger cake, money for the bar, etc.) but even the basic package is absolutely workable. Julie and Patricia run the events department and they were both kind, helpful and always ready to answer any questions I had. The DJ was very good, i wish i could remember his name. The photographer (Neil G.) was pretty good, except he charged us an extra $300 just for a dvd of the photos he took. I thought the $1500 we payed him would have included that. The venue was very basic, but not bad. Where they got us was at the bar. They charged us PER DRINK!!! Not per hour or even per bottle, but PER DRINK!!!!! And they never mentioned this to us and wasnt in our contract.\r10 oz Beers: $4.00 per \rWell drink: $6.50 per\rCall drink: $7.50 per (Jack Daniels or Absolut)\rPremium: $9.50 per \r*All drinks were weak and shots very small*\rAll of these prices would be OK if we were at a bar on Ventura (except a 10oz beer for $4.00, i would maybe pay that at a stadium) But not when you have a 125 people and celebrating with family and friends. So I had almost $2400 in deposit, and the billed me $4600 extra that night. So the bar alone cost me $7000!!! \rHERE IS THE BEST PART! We had to pay that night!!! So my wife and I had to crack open our envelopes for cash, and I had to send my brother home to lend me cash. And when I asked the bartender to make my drinks bigger since I was the groom, he said he couldnt. Even though there was a 20% gratuity on the bar tab which means i payed him $1400 for 5 hours of work plus he was getting extra tips all night.\rSo through email we requested the details of our tab, and they told it would be emailed shortly. NO RESPONSE! I tried to call but no answer. Finally I called the main line and got transferred through, only to be told they dont have the records. I have since called around to other facilities in the area and other people that got married, and nobody dealt with this. Reviewed on 01-08-2012
Jodi Berman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-06-2012 Everyone at PVCC goes out of their way to make your wedding perfect. Their event coordinator is very experienced and handled everything we threw at her, including lots of Jewish rituals, craft projects that had to be laid out everywhere, and lots and lots of people. The venue was absolutely gorgeous and we were able to take indoor and outdoor photos that just looked amazing. And they have relationships with a number of vendors who give you a good deal because of their association with PVCC. Reviewed on 27-06-2012
Isis Santos(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-07-2011 Everything at Porter Valley CC was close to perfection. Everything from the beginning was great. Julie always responded to my e-mails promptly and was always very helpful. I booked my wedding in October 2010 and my wedding was in July 2011 so Julie and Ann were with me through my entire journey. The fact that my package included everything I needed for a successful wedding made everything much easier on us. The cake, the DJ, the flowers, the officiant, the food, the bar, service, everything was included in our package. While I am very thankful my cake came out GREAT, my flowers were GORGEOUS, and the officiant was GREAT, I was disappointed with the DJ. While he kept the party going and everyone had a good time, he seemed not too happy being there. He was rude to some of my guests and I saw him rolling his eyes to me because I wanted to take more pictures before my grand entrance. The second problem I encountered in the wedding was that the Buffet Captain was not aware of a few of my requests. Julie had told me that since I was the bride and I love Cosmos, I could have that all night and it would be included in my package. I ordered cosmos from 2 different people and I never got one, in fact I didn't even get a response to that. Also, I had 3 cake flavors for people to pick from and many people did not get what they wanted. I also had said I did not want to save the top tier and they were going to (I stopped them just in time). It really crushes me to give them 4 stars because Julie and Ann were so great... but I believe that the buffet captain and the DJ were important pieces of the wedding and they were not 100%. But thanks, Porter Valley, all in all, it was AMAZING! A lot of my friends told me that it was one of the best weddings that they've been to and that it was soooooo much fun. I had an amazing time and so did everyone else! THANKS AGAIN AND AGAIN Reviewed on 07-10-2011
Dawn Provencher(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-08-2011 While we were on a budget PVCC gave us everything that we needed. overall we were very happy with our vendors. My advise is to accept EARLY that you DO NOT have control over everything, we will call these moments creative flaws. The crake was great, the DJ was good, the flowers were AMAZING, and the environment was welcoming. If i were to list my negatives the list is short, but good to know. Places for pictures takes some creativity. if you (the bride) want to hide till th big moment they have a room, but it's hard to get anywhere with out being seen by your guests. Over all its a great venue, friendly staff, and totally makes it possibl to have a beautiful n day for under 15 grand (keep in my we had a friday night wedding). Reviewed on 13-09-2011

When we first visited the country club I was blown away at the scenery, it is beautiful. It offered everything we wanted! It was actually a very easy process, Julie our wedding coordinator gave us a list of vendors that worked with us extremely well, everyone was on time and offered the best services! I was married 3 years ago and I still get compliments on how beautiful our wedding was, that the food was delicious, and that they had so much fun! She was so helpful. Whenever I had a question I would email her and would either have an answer that day or first thing the next day. Her staff was amazing on the day of my wedding. They were so helpful. The Banquet captain was also great, Maria took great care of my husband and I . Now lets talk ceremony. I got married outside facing the golf course at night. The sky and golf course looks like a postcard. I dont have enough amamzing words to say about the country club. Reviewed on 13-12-2010

kyoko kamiya(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2010 We had our wedding reception at PVCC on 8/28/10 and coordinated with Julie and Ana and others at the venue for about 10 months prior. They were all awesome, courteous, professional, organized, service oriented, responsive, attentive to our needs, etc... Service and taking care of the client/customer is their #1 priority and they were a pleasure to work with and coordinate. Also their recommended vendors were valuable and excellent choices too. (we used 3 of them).\r\rIf you want to have a wedding & reception (or private function) at a beautiful property and a quaint ballroom with professional staff and exceptional service, then you would want to have it at PVCC!!!!
