This property is located near the Hudson River Waterfront and Historic Poughkeepsie Train Station. We got married this past weekend here and let me tell you, they really did an amazing job. Michelle was our coordinator and she was so wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and patient. The food was absolute amazing. The service was amazing! Nina was our head server and she went above and beyond. Anthony was our maitre d and he was amazing. Our wedding was absolutely perfect! We would recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to anyone looking for the most perfect venue.

Truly a flawless process. We worked with Gina who never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question and responded to all emails timely. Food was great! Ceremony / Reception / Hotel was beautiful! Staff - from front desk to reception rooms to bar in the lobby were all friendly!! They say you get what you pay for? Not here! We got what we paid for plus! Shout at to Shannon (front desk), Sierra (Head Table) and Anthony (Maitre D) as well. You guys nailed it!

Our wedding coordinator, Michelle Niesen, was amazing! She was always on top of things and always responsive to all our questions! She really took excellent care of us, and made our day extra special! The service we received from ALL the staff was above and beyond! And the compliments on the food are still coming in! Their pricing included cake and centerpieces, which were absolutely wonderful and a big savings! Would definitely recommend this venue!

I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. They catered to me and my family. I was overseas while planning the wedding and COVID made it so I couldn't be there in person for a lot of the planning. Michelle made the process easy for us. Definitely recommend Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel!!!

Stayed at the Grand for my wedding at the Grandview. The hotel was clean and service was great. It was easy to get into contact with them quickly with any questions and they facilitated handing out our gift bags which we definitely appreciate. Parking was at no additional cost Be aware: Between the weddings at the hotel, and the Grandview, rooms at the Grand and immediate area, rooms are booked very quickly and the Grand can only guarantee a certain amount of rooms in your block, so your guests must book early in your planning and/or you must block rooms at another hotelThe hotel is clean but all of the décor is very outdated - definitely needs renovationThey are STILL doing a grab and go breakfast due to COVID, which is just really the bare minimum. This was pretty disappointing.

I did not have my wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand, it was at their sister site The Grandview. However we stayed at this hotel and they were so helpful in everything from gift bags, transportation to my rehearsal dinner Friday night and transports for my wedding party and guests.

I cannot say enough about the EXCELLENT service we received for our wedding last week! Michelle, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond this past 10 months while we planned our big day with her! Every email or call I placed to her was answered immediately and she was always happy to assist with any questions I had, no matter how big or small the issue was! On our wedding day, Michelle was there and made sure everything started out the way I wanted it. After her, maitre'd Emily and our head table server Freddy, took over the show and not only guided us through everything, but made sure we always had food and drinks at our table! We also were allowed to view our party room before all of our guests did. They decorated everything EXACTLY how I wanted it! I didn't have to change a thing. Everyone at the Grand had professional attitudes and everything was SO organized. The food was EXCELLENT, nothing we ordered on our menu was a disappointment! We had 180 guests and the pricing was VERY reasonable compared to other local venues. At the end of the night, Emily and Freddy packaged all of our belongings (and extra food from dinner and cocktail hour!) and brought it up to our honeymoon suite to us. We had enough leftovers for 4 days after the wedding. Our guests raved about everything and they are still talking about our day. Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, thank you SO much for taking such great care of us on our wedding day!!! If you are looking for EXCELLENT service and to be treated right, this is the place to go!!!

My husband and I used the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for the room blocks for our wedding this past June, 2019. Let me first specify that we did NOT get married at the Grand hotel. We got married down the street at the Grandview. Working with Keisha to book our room blocks was great. She was very helpful and easy to work with! The hotel is fine but honestly overpriced for what you get. However, that is not my complaint. I booked a the 10th floor club room as a dressing room to use the morning of my wedding to get ready and take pictures in. The room was ready when i needed it and it is a beautiful room with a lot of natural light, which was great. My issue is with the customer service. I paid about $400 to use this room just for a few hours. in addition to the room charge, there is an 18% service charge. When I was let into the room they brought some pitchers of water and some water glasses. But after this, service was nonexistent. We brought our own champagne and figured it would be easy enough for the hotel to bring up some champagne glasses. We called the front desk and requested the glasses. No one showed up. We then had to call the front desk THREE times over a period of about two hours to ask why no one came up with the glasses before finally going down to the desk to complain. Rather than being apologetic, i was told the staff was defensive. That being said, I was very disappointed with the service considering i spent so much and paid a service charge. Also, if you are considering renting this room you should know that you don't get your own key. Every time you want to get in you need to call the front desk and ask to be let in. If you plan to set up the room and leave for anything, like to have breakfast, this presents a problem unless there is someone else in the room.

If you’re on the search for a venue in this area, we highly recommend taking a look at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. We had been to several venues and never had that “this is the place” moment until we visited the Grand hotel. We may be a little biased because it was our wedding, but this was the best wedding we have ever been to! We had plenty of guests making similar remarks though which has made our claim feel validated. Many guests specifically complimented the speed of service, the ballroom and decorations, as well as the food and quality of service.We booked the Regency Package, which gives you the larger ballroom (you need at least 100 guests but we were able to book it a few short of 100.)For the price you’re paying, you get an incredible ballroom and also the catering is included. We still can’t figure out why the cost is lower than other venues in the area that don’t offer catering. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that they’re able to host so many weddings on the same night?The amount you get for the price is amazing.-\tThe food is incredible-\tThe maître’ de and the head server make sure everything is going smoothly. You will always have a drink, a taste of any food you’d like, and will not have to keep track of the events and timing since they do it for you.-\tThe ballroom itself was beautiful. The option to choose any color uplighting for no additional cost was a huge plus.-\tThe process of preparing for the wedding was made simple. We worked with Gina, who was always available to answer our questions and gave us a detailed timeline of everything we would need to do far in advance so we were never feeling stressed.If you’re searching for a venue, we highly recommend setting up a meeting with the Poughkeepsie Grand to see if it’s a match for you.

the price is reasonable and they have great packages. everyone loved the food . they did a wonderful job decorating and I loved the roof top ceremony space. however, for reasons I am still trying find out my reception started and hour later than it was supposed to causing me to have to extend my reception an hour so I can do all the things planned and still have 30 mins of just dancing. we had to pay a good amount of money to extend the reception and they would only accept cash. also for other reasons I am unsure of they waiting to do the cake cutting until almost 10. this set back my bouquet and garter toss. since not only did the reception start an hour late, and my cake cutting was late I had to pay for my photo grapher to stay an extra hour to capture these moments. I'm very unhappy with the lack of organization and having to pay more money when not only did we spend a lot to have our wedding there but we helped give them a lot of business with a huge amount of hotel rooms being booked.

We chose the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel because quite honestly, you cannot beat the price, service, and FOOD! Working with Gina to plan our \"off-season\" March 2019 wedding was an absolute dream. The package we chose was well within our budget and it included literally everything you could imagine, and then some. Gina was extremely responsive to emails, especially in the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding where each day was a new inquiry (haha, but seriously). She made everything so easy! The day of our wedding we worked with our Maitre'd, Freddy, and the head table server, Enid. They were both fantastic and so attentive. Enid had our bridal suite stocked with appetizers when we got back after photos so that me and my girls could have a bite to eat while we freshened up before we headed into the cocktail hour. It was absolutely fantastic! No one was without a drink all night thanks to the fantastic table side drink service and the bartenders, of course! Oh and the food was AMAZING. We went with the salmon, rib eye steak (duh), chicken cordon blue, and veggie lasagna options and they were all fantastic. Enid brought us out some of each entree and we actually sat down and ate!! I think we are the only couple I know who ate dinner at their wedding. The salmon and steak were my favorites of the entrees! Anyway, if you go with the Poughkeepsie Grand hotel you will NOT be disappointed.

Kisha is the best group sales manager!!!!We just had our wedding this past Saturday at the Grandview and had a ton of family traveling from out of town. The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was a great fit for our guests and Kisha made the entire process so easy and FUN! From initial contact to the day of she answered every question (no matter how repetitive or crazy) and addressed all our needs with top notch professionalism and courtesy. She was an absolute pleasure to work and plan with and has such a wonderfully warm and inviting personality. She made us feel like she was a member of the family and as concerned if not more concerned with how everything would come together. She gave us a full tour of the hotel and shared everything with us as if she were inviting us into her own home. She taught me how to follow our room block and kept us up to date on bookings the whole way. I also give her high praise for handling a very difficult (and quite frankly embarrassing) “situation” extraordinarily well that came up with the matron of honor! During all the wedding planning I knew I just needed people to help me keep my peace of mind and relieve some stress and Kisha definitely did that for me. I highly recommend her and The Poughkeepsie Grand for your next event :-)

I worked with Michelle during all of the time leading up to the wedding. She was friendly and always answered my emails promptly. We worked closely to finalize all details of the big day. The venue offers 3 great package options. We chose the \"Royal\" option which was a great package at a reasonable price. Everyone is still talking about how great the food was. Everyone enjoyed cocktail hour and main courses. People even really liked the 3 tiered platter of pastries that each table received at the end of the night. The wait staff was very attentive. Our bridal suite at the end of the night was beautiful! You really get what you pay for and more! I was very blessed to have a wedding that was enjoyable for all. I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

The venue and staff were both wonderful. The hotel was an excellent location for both the ceremony and reception with nice lighting, space and excellent food. Compared to the numerous locations we visited the Grand offered the most complete services in one place with staff who helped make the planning go smoothly and the wedding go off without any problems.

Overall, we had a fabulous wedding! Of course, there were hiccups along the way.You should know that the Grand is very overbooked. There were 14 weddings the same weekend as mine. No one ever told me that. They give you 10 rooms in a room block, and when we told them we would need more, they said it would be no problem. Well, within the first few weeks of booking them (back in 5/2017 for a 9/2018 wedding), the Hotel was completely booked. I needed to get a second room block at a hotel down the road.The Grand is very beautiful so that worked perfectly! My biggest complaint was that the staff pulled my groom aside during the reception and asked for payment. Gina, my coordinator, was supposed to collect the money earlier in the day from us. She never once came into the room I was getting ready in to ask for the check. I was in that room from 10am - 5pm. The staff then told my mother to leave the wedding, go up to the room, and get the check. I told them no and she would bring the check down after the reception so she could enjoy the night and it was worked out.Overall everything went pretty smoothly, but if you are looking for personalized attention, it is kinda hard here since they do so many weddings in a weekend.My coordinator Gina was very nice and very quick to respond to my e-mails, which was very helpful!

Everyone was amazing to my now husband and myself and our bridal party also to of all of our guest! The venue was beautiful for our special day! The garden was amazing for our ceremony and picture taking. The food and drinks were delicious! Thank you all again! The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel is fabulous place for your wedding! We were married there just a couple of weeks ago. The staff was so amazing, I wasn't stressed at all. Every component was under control and all the little details that made the day uniquely ours were carried out by Michelle and her staff. They were all a pleasure to work with. We were provided with ample space in which to take care off all the prep - hair, make up, dressing, etc. The rooftop was beautifully decorated and was such a lovely setting for our ceremony. Our guests raved about the cocktail hour, both the setting, the food and the service. Our reception ballroom was so beautiful as well. Everyone ate, drank danced all afternoon. The vendor team assembled by the hotel is the best there is. The Pastry Garden created a cake for us that was as gorgeous as it as delicious. Lucille's Floral matched our colors with the bouquet and centerpiece blooms in such lovely designs. Our guests are still talking about what a great party our wedding was. It was an unforgettable day, thanks in large part to the folks at the Poughkeepsie Grand!

I cannot say enough about the experience we had here. The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel went above and beyond and blew our expectations out of the water on our wedding day. Every single staff member we encountered, from the front desk check in crew, the servers, our bartenders, our maitre d’, Cheo and our wedding coordinator, Michelle were phenomenal !!! Our food was delicious , our wedding suite was incredible (brides, take advantage of the jacuzzi after a long night of dancing in a heavy wedding dress ... felt incredibly soothing !) and every detail was perfect. There were 2 other weddings going on that night , and you’d never even know it by the level of organization that goes on there. The best part is , you don’t have to travel anywhere after your day! They just walk you right upstairs to your gorgeous wedding suite. The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel made all of our wedding dreams come true !!

The Poughkeepsie Grand could not have been a better place to get married. From the time we started looking until the day after the wedding, we were extremely satisfied. All of the staff was so accommodating and helped our wedding run smoothly. The staff waited on the bridal party and made sure they were always happy. Our family and friends were blown away by cocktail hour and thought that was dinner! The food was excellent! Our guests raved about the whole wedding weekend. We really could not say anything bad about the whole weekend - staff, rooms, reception, food all top notch and amazing pricing! We highly recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand to everyone!

We loved the POK Grand as our venue! The price, everything included and the service was impeccable!! We had such an amazing day/night. Michelle was there for any questions we had. Our duo for the night was Cheo and Jenna and they went above and beyond!!!!! We LOVE them and everything they did for us that night! Jenna was always around if we needed something and Cheo was so professional and helpful. Everyone is still raving about the great time they had and how good the food was! Even people that are picky eaters were very satisfied. I wish we could do it again because we had the best time. The rooftop ceremony was perfect. It gets a little warm up there and the sun is a bit in the guests eyes at 5:30pm on a Saturday in June but it was a quick ceremony and everyone thought it was BEAUTIFUL!! We could not be happier with our day. Thank you to everyone at the Grand!!!

Got married at Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel on May 6th 2017.Let me first start out by saying that this venue is run like a well oiled machine under the direction of the General Manager ,Maureen .Our wedding coordinator was Gina . From the day we met Gina , till the day of our event , she was AMAZING ! No matter how many questions(and believe me there were hundreds ) , how many special requests or changes , Gina made it happen with a smile.We had our rehearsal and dinner the night before our wedding . Gina was there to orchestrate the rehearsal and set us up for dinner in the hotel lobby.The day of the wedding , our ceremony and reception sites were set up perfectly by Gina and her staff. We had an 11am ceremony and Gina and Ryan our Maitre D were there with us at 7am to give us access to every suite available to us for photos and pre-wedding assembly.We were married on the gorgeous 4th floor rooftop but had a bit of a scare. It was raining up until an hour before the ceremony...but Gina never panicked or told us we had to move the ceremony inside ...to the contrary as soon as the rain stopped they had the 4th floor setup quickly as if there had been no interference at all .Right before the reception started , Gina and Ryan walked us into the main ballroom to make sure we approved . We were also met by the GM Maureen who congratulated us !!Our party was amazing , Ryan made sure the food was hot the drinks were cold and the party flowed smoothly between the hotel and our DJ.Ryan , Gina and Maureen remained onsite the whole time , AMAZING !!Our head server , Stephanie was tireless all day and worked with a smile to get us everything we possibly needed !! The other wait staff received rave reviews from our guests.At the end of our event we partied in the lobby bar and the wait staff and bartenders were phenomenal. Front desk staff was always accommodating to us and our guests (special shoutout to TJ for being super accommodating !)At the very end of our event , Gina , Ryan and Stephanie escorted us to our honeymoon suite ....carrying all our gifts for us , extra wedding cake and tons of food for us to snack on !!!Our wedding turned out exactly the way we wanted it to .When I say nothing went wrong and we were in heaven all day , I MEAN IT !!!If you want a fantastic venue where you get it all , great staff , great food and service , onsite hotel and tons of little extras for your money this is the place.We looked at 7 venues and as soon as we walked into the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel they literally had us at hello .... we immediately fell in love with the ambiance and staff .You can never put a price on a good time and I am so glad we didn't!!Thanks to everyone!,James and Sophia

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel provided a wonderful experience for our guests and us during our wedding weekend. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was accommodating and pleasant to work with. The Club Room on the top floor is a beautiful venue for bridal parties to get ready prior to the wedding. It was spacious and very comfortable for the bridesmaids, moms, and stylists. The meals we ordered and had delivered to the Club Room on the morning of the wedding were delicious. Since our wedding was at the Grandview, it was an incredibly convenient location for our out-of-town guests. Transportation could not have been easier, and our guests raved about the trolley that took them to and from the Grandview. There was even transportation made available to our rehearsal dinner on the night before our wedding. Overall, our experience at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was fantastic, and we would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married in the Poughkeepsie area!

Let me just say Gina is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The staff was so attentive and felt like they really do care about making your special. And talk about damage control. Most people on their wedding day get nervous about things you can't control. But Gina and the staff were so amazing at making sure things went smoothly (a few days before our wedding Donald Trump announced he was holding a presidential rally next door to the hotel). You'd think that your day would be ruined- but with the professionalism and the confidence this team showed us (who knows it could've all been a front for me) but they made the day flawless. If I had to do it again, knowing there'd be a rally next door I would. Thank you all for making our day amazing and thank you Gina for making sure I was a happy bride.

We used POK Grand as our preferred hotel on our wedding weekend as well as for farewell brunch the following morning. We did \"getting ready\" pre-wedding photography here as well, and they have rooms that can be booked separately that don't have beds (though I will say, these rooms are pretty pricey). The booking process was a challenge, since they only release rooms to you in blocks of 10 (and you need to self-monitor and ask to add additional increments). Regardless of those constraints, the team was professional and helpful (even putting a nail in the wall to hold up my long wedding dress since the closet wasn't high enough)! The rooms could definitely use some updating, but for the price, this was a great option!

Our wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand was wonderful. We got married there last week and I've been hearing non stop how much fun all of our guests had and how good the food was. Because we had everything on site it was easy for our guests to relax and let loose. After the reception everyone naturally made their way over the the hotel lobby bar/grill and the party continued until the early am. I'm originally from the Hudson Valley and I was proud to have my wedding here. Michelle was our primary contact and we worked closely with her to set-up the wedding. She was wonderful and I can't speak highly enough as she was so accommodating throughout the process. We had the royal package which had so many food options it was hard to choose. I had been nervous about the food since the prices seemed too low compared to other venues, but it was really great. Overall I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for tremendous value and a way for your guest to enjoy themselves in an elegant setting. They really know how to throw a party.

Then on the wedding day the staff was PHENOMENAL! The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was THE BEST venue for my wedding. From our very first meeting with Wedding Planner Michele, we knew this place would be able to make our day special. Michele was there to walk us through the entire venue planning process. She was very responsive to all of our questions and was a joy to work with. The ballrooms are beautiful, up lighting and chandeliers looked spectacular in my wedding photos! My guests could not stop raving about the food, both the cocktail hour and dinner plates were beautifully put together and tasted amazing. The venue is a hotel so my guests did not have to travel after the wedding, everything you need is right onsite which was so convenient. The bridal suite on the first floor was PERFECT for hair and makeup with the bridal party. We had 15 or more people in there at one time, getting ready comfortably. We also were able to put the groom and his guys in another suite upstairs for them to get ready, which was newly renovated and had a gorgeous view overlooking the water and bridge! Overall the staff at The Poughkeepsie Grand were accommodating, friendly and professional. All of my interactions with the staff were pleasant, from the front desk to my head waitress at the wedding. Thank you to all of the staff members for helping my husband and I celebrate....you made our night!

Cant say enough good things about this venue!! Me and my husband got married on September 18, 2015. This place literally blew our minds and exceeded every expectations. The venue was beautiful, the staff was extremely courteous and waited on me and my groom hand and foot. We didnt even have to make our own plate they took us first to every station and made us our plates while we danced and spoke with family and friends, My younger nephews who have sever allergies and couldnt eat most of the food they were kind enough to go in the kicthen and make them completely separate meals to accommodate. They were just genuinely nice people. Michelle was our go to and she was jsut awesome, very organized helped with everything even last minuet changes i had that day!! The bridal suite was gorgeous! Me and my girls got ready in there and the guys got ready at the bridal party suite. Everyone has not stopped raving about our wedding, but especially because of how awesome this venue was! The price is great you get sooo much for what your paying and the food was delicious. (though I barely got to eat :( I was told by everyone how yummy it was!!) Their packages offer you so much! We went with a stations package which was buffet and let me tell you the amount of food we had was crazy! the desert was delicious they offer free breakfast in the am for the guests that stay at the hotel which was fun the next morning waking up and seeing everyone. They just really made my wedding amazing me and my husband keep saying that we wish we could go back and do it all over again! Our families have suggested us just going back up there and having a party and staying the night that is how much we loved this venue!

Our bridal suite was included for free with our venue booking at The Grandview down the road. The suite was GORGEOUS and so big! For the hotel block, they start you out with 10 rooms, then you can add more once those are used up. In our package, we also received 5 free guest rooms which was perfect for people traveling from out of state that spent so much just to be there already. It was so easy to book and to check on who else had booked into your block throughout the entire process.

It was great to have the bridal party all in one place. A little disappointed that their hotel bar wasn't open late every night, but instead we all just celebrated more in our rooms. The hotel staff was very accommodating and everyone liked their rooms. Pros: Free parking, wifi, hot breakfast, passed out Welcome bags (they don't allow personalized per guest, but they do allow for wedding bags they can hand out to anyone who used our Wedding code), convenient to the reception venue, at The Grandview (free trolley service to and from The Grandview to The Grand hotel, throughout the night of the wedding). \r\rOnly Con: The room rate code only worked half the time, so keep an eye on that! (If that happens, guests can call in and they always were great about updating the price for our guests so they didn't have to pay more).\r\rOverall, I would recommend!! \r

rom day 1 i was excited to have my wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand. Michelle was great to work with and she was so accommodating to any request I made and responded to every question or concern I had in a timely manner. On the day of my wedding they decorated the ceremony space, the cocktail hour space and the reception area perfectly to what I had envisioned! My wedding day ran so smoothly thanks to the great staff at the Grand! Who could forget to mention the food???? OMG there was so much and every thing I ate was delicious, and every guest I asked said the food was marvelous! Would I recommend this place to a friend YES I would.... The package we chose was perfect for our budget and included so many extras that you would have to pay extra for at other locations! Great place oh and if you do stay the night the room is grand, and breakfast the next morning was abundant and very tasty! 5 star service!!!!

On May 23, my husband & I had our wedding reception at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. From the second we got off the party bus, we were greeted at the door and waited on from start to finish. Our head waitress went out of her way to make sure our glasses were always filled and we were comfortable; she even went as far as to get my husband a tide to go pen because he got food on his tux! (THANK YOU SARAH) Our food was absolute amazing, our set up was just what we asked for and Michelle was such a great help! Aside from the reception, the hotel was a great convenience and was very appreciated by all of our guests. Our reception ended at midnight and we were at the bar until 2! Such WONDERFUL night with many thanks to the catering and events team!

We got married at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel on Saturday, July 19, 2014. We could not have picked a better venue!! Our great experience began with our wedding coordinator, Tara, who was fabulous. She walked us through the details without any headaches or stress. We easily planned all of the details together and she was available to answer any questions we had. One of the best parts was being able to give our final head count before midnight the night before - we e-mailed her at 11:30pm and she took care of it!\r\rThe day of was absolutely fabulous. When our limo pulled up we were greeted outside and brought to the bridal suite. From there, we were taken care of the entire night. Not only were my husband and I were treated like royalty, but so were our parents and our entire bridal party. The servers were fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The food was delicious, as were the drinks. Every staff member was beyond accommodating and they made our day flawless, from the time we arrived, to cocktail hour, all the way to the end of the reception. The room was set up beautifully, and the green uplighting added a perfect glow to our packed dance floor. At the end of the night, our attendants brought us and our gifts up to our beautiful honeymoon suite and made sure we had everything we needed. We ended our night at the Market Street Grill where our guests were able to continue the party. All of our family and friends could not stop talking about the great service, food, and comfort of the rooms the next day at the hot brunch. \r\rWe could not have asked for a more perfect day. From the first view online to my final good bye was an excellent experience. Three months later and we are still hearing that this was the best wedding that people have been too. The service from the first feasible deposit to the final payment was very manageable and we were very pleased with the outcome. The staff was very hospitable to us, my family, and our guest. We stayed the night before the ceremony, and the sleeping accommodations, breakfast the wedding day, changing room, conference room for make-up, was AMAZING!!!!! My wedding day was perfect. The maître D and the hostess were on point with EVERYTHING. The ceremony, the cocktail hour, the reception, and the suite for the honeymoon were perfect. I could not have asked for a more suitable location, a perfect wedding, and a gracious staff. This was a very special moment for us. The wedding party and family really enjoyed how beautiful things turned out for the amount of money that was requested. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our day was really our day. The vendors were accommodated fully, the bar was stocked, and the food was the best food at a wedding that I ever tasted. We had a few couples that were/are getting married this year and wish they knew about this place prior to booking their location. I will recommend this location, not only for a wedding but for golden anniversaries, birthday parties, and even family reunions. I could not have found a better location for the price and all that came with it. Our wedding was by far a blessed and special day. We truly appreciate what the Poughkeepsie Grand staff, hostess and managers have done for us.

From the minute we were greeted by Tara Kaywork to tour the Poughkeepsie Grand for our upcoming wedding, we knew that we had found the right place. We found a package within our budget and were amazed at the luxury of the wedding reception hall and our bridal suite. Tara was always available whether by phone or email to answer any and every question. She made us feel very comfortable that everything for a big day was going to go perfectly. On our wedding day we had 2 valet servers that were committed just to us as a couple and we were treated like royalty, never wanting for anything. Every minute of the wedding went exactly as planned with Tara making sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be. The reception itself was even better decorated than i could have imagined, and I made all the decorations myself! I would certainly recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand and their incredible staff to any and all. In fact our close friends, Nicole and Sean are getting married there next October 2015 and have had the same wonderful service from Tara Kaywork as well. Kudos and tremendous thank yous to The Poughkeepsie Grand!

We had our wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel in June 2014. The moment we booked the date, I knew it was going to be the most perfect day. From the very beginning, the staff at the hotel were so accommodating. Any questions we had were answered quickly and efficiently. We worked with Tara, who was great. She helped us along the entire time, from questions about the venue itself, to personal wedding questions she was always there. The big day itself was perfect, and we couldn't ask for more. The staff was so pleasant the entire day, and kept the day moving smoothly. Our guest still compliment us on our wedding day. They loved everything about it. The food, service, and accommodations were perfect. I would recommend the PGH to anyone. It is a beautiful venue, it is affordable, and it is very convenient with the hotel rooms right there for your guests. The hotel also has a lot to offer with each package, which makes planning your special day that much easier! The PGH is definitely the way to go, and we look forward to going back for future events (including our close friend's wedding next fall)!!!

My husband is a DJ and has DJed all over the Hudson Valley for all occasions. When we wanted to have an \"elegant\" wedding reception the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was the first thing that came to his mind. The first time I stepped foot in the Regency Ballroom I was absolutely floored by its beauty. Tara Kaywork was our sales rep and she was also phenomenal. She worked with us every step of the way to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted. On our wedding day everyone from Tara to our personal maitradees were just so nice and accommodating. I was on crutches and they paid extra attention to that and got me what I needed. We both were extremely happy with the services provided....and the food and wedding cake was delicious!

My husband and I got married at the Poughkeepsie grand hotel in December almost coming up our 1 year anniversary which we will be celebrating and having dinner there! Tara was our wedding specialist she goes above and beyond to give you what you want. She always had a big smile and made you feel you were the only bride she has dealt with! And we know she has many:) We all want and say \"the food has to be a lot and good\"... And it was!! I have a big Italian family and everyone went home with seconds.There staff is on point with everything! We had Mitchell and Sara . Mitchell even came up to me while I was dancing and asked if I wanted a glass of water! I had a lot of family traveling from westchester and we felt safe to know everyone would be staying overnight which made it accommodating for all our guests, and to wake up to an unbelievable complimentary buffet breakfast which is included in the stay. My husband and I got married in September of 2014 and had our reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. When we first started looking for venues this was one of the last that we saw and we immediately knew it was the perfect place for us. Our wedding coordinator was Gina and she was absolutely fantastic, professional, and very helpful right from the start. At our first meeting we were given plenty of instructions for when things were due and what would be included in our package. One of the things I loved about this venue was that almost everything was covered in our package. Since there are so many details that come with planning a wedding my mind was really put at ease seeing that things such as table linens, cake, and even center pieces would all be included. As the wedding approached we had our final meeting and put together our menu, color scheme, and all other details we wanted at our reception. One week before the wedding we dropped off everything we had bought such as card box/cake servers and were told the staff would set everything up from there. The day of our wedding had arrived and the bridesmaids and I all got ready in the honeymoon suite which was beautiful and had plenty of space for everyone. After the ceremony we arrived for our cocktail hour and the bridal party got to use the bridal suite and had our own appetizers and waiters. Right before our guests were let into the reception my husband and I were taken into the ballroom to see everything for the first time. I was blown away the second I entered the door, everything looked better than I had ever imagined. The lighting, tablecloths, and centerpieces were all absolutely beautiful and elegant. Our wedding cake was gorgeous. It definitely exceeded our expectations! The staff throughout the night was fantastic and would check in with me about every 20 minutes to make sure everything was good and to see if I needed anything. The wedding turned out so perfect and we had so many compliments on the entire reception. Our guests said many times how delicious the food was, they were very impressed at the size of the portions, and they really loved the lighting and staff as well. We really loved everything about the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and would highly recommend having your wedding there. They made our wedding night more special then we could ever imagine!

I had my wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand on 9/5/14. It was the very first venue my fiancé and I looked at and we booked right away! We fell in love the moment we walked in the door. Our coordinator was Gina and she was fantastic the entire time! She always responded to my emails quickly and understood when my new mommy brain made me forget about little things. The day of the wedding was incredible. We had a large bridal party (16 not including ourselves) and the staff handled it with ease. When we came in to the reception to get the first look I cried tears of joy. The whole idea I had in my head had been executed to a level I couldn't have ever dreamed of. We were so well taken care of the whole night by Mitch and the entire wait staff. I couldn't be happier we had our wedding there. I'm sad it's now over because I will miss all the amazing people we met there along the way.

I had contacted other venues before the Poughkeepsie Grand and have to say the quick and professional response Gina Paganelli gave me was why John and I chose that venue. Gina was awesome and we were both so grateful to her for always making us feel like we mattered and never once made me feel like I was bothering her. She was very accommodating when we had a last minute add on the day of the wedding. Everything was perfect. I never felt worried about, oh no what if this or that goes wrong. Gina had me so stress free and made sure everything was perfect. I have to say also that Mitch and Joe the head waiter were awesome also. They were on top of everything. The food and service were amazing. Still to this day over 6 months later we still have people talking about how great our wedding was. Thank you to all who were a part of our day at the Poughkeepsie Grand and a special Thanks to Gina who was amazing and we are both so glad we worked with her.

The PGH was a fantastic venue for my wedding day! I am originally from upstate New York, while my husband is from NYC. The PGH was right in between our families and was much cheaper than a wedding in either NYC or the capital district. I worked mainly with Gina Pagenelli. She answered all of my questions quickly and professionally. Gina was able to help me planning my wedding from NYC and with me only being able to travel to Poughkeepsie once in awhile. The weekend of the wedding was fantastic. Everything went smoothly and if there were any issues, I was unaware. The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing and the room was beautiful. We paid $70 per guest and had our ceremony on site. There isn't a better deal out there! Our day was absolutely perfect. Thank you PGH!

The hotel is located in the city of Poughkeepsie, which is not the nicest place. However as soon as you step into the lobby you forget the street you just stepped off of. Very nice, updated rooms. Wonderful staff. BEAUTIFUL bridal suite that is included when you book at The Grandview. We also got 5 complimentary rooms that we gave to our parents and grandparents as a thank you. Complimentary trolley cars are provided as guest transportation to and from the venue and hotel. Hot breakfast that was very good is included! Our guest felt comfortable which allowed them to enjoy our wedding all that much more!

My husband and I looked at several venues for our big day, but not one of them could beat the POK Grand! The Emerald package was affordable and we were beyond please with the quality and the amount of food we received! Our guest were beyond full and said that they have attended weddings with less food than what was served at cocktail hour alone! So when it came time to eat dinner our guests were feeling full to say the least, but beyond pleased to learn that the staff packaged their leftovers to bring home! They also walked around with seconds for everyone!! They packaged all the extras for us including dessert and stored them in the hotel refrigerator, which came in handy at 2am when we realized how hungry we were from all the excitement. \r\rThe staff at the Grand were beyond courteous and attentive!! Starting with Gina and the entire experience of planning. The morning of the wedding we went to the bridal suite to get ready and one of the managers came into introduce himself and brought us champagne, and made us feel very welcome! The night of our wedding we had the pleasure of meeting the rest of the staff, our maitre d came in and introduced herself and asked if we needed anything and then sent in our head waiter Joe. Joe was BEYOND helpful and memorized my entire bridal party's drink preference and kept them coming! He even brought one of my groomsmen a whole six pack of Octoberfest beer!! The entire night he was at our beck and call. I can not express how awesome he made the night with his attentiveness!\r\rThe set up was gorgeous! The staff put all of my little touches together in a way that exceeded my expectations! I also loved that they took my husband and I into the reception area prior to all the guests, so we could take a moment to appreciate the beauty rather than trying to take it all in during our entrance. I could not have envisioned a more perfect reception!\r\rOverall, the POK Grand is hands down the best venue to have your reception! Your guests will not be disappointed or hungry!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. We think that anyone who gets married anywhere else in the Hudson Valley is CRAZY! The Grand takes care of everything - from centerpieces, cake, placecards, menu cards, to directions and room blocks. Our wedding planning was stress-free with the help of Tara Kaywork who also helped us remember important details for all of our wedding planning! She was always available for questions, no matter how small. Our reception was in the Terrace Ballroom which is such a dynamic room - we were truly able to personalize it and it looked more beautiful than we could have imagined. At the start of our planning, we had envisioned an outdoor wedding but had to stray from that plan because of cost. All of our personal details were more than accounted for at The Grand. Tara and the rest of the staff at The Poughkeepsie Grand stopped at nothing to make our wedding day exactly what we wanted! When we first contacted the Poughkeepsie Grand to visit and explore options, we mentioned that instead of a sit-down formal dinner, we wanted more of a cocktail party feel for our entire reception. Tara helped us plan a Stations package with interactive food options and our guests were blown away. We had a salad station, a continental station, a saute station, and a carving station. The food was delicious, from the many hors d'oevres to the delicious and savory fall dinner food to our luscious cake from The Pastry Garden. Tara even put our flowers on our cake minutes before our reception! We loved working with her and our maitre-de and servers were just as lovely and helpful throughout the night. We will always be impressed with our experience and so grateful that we could have this beautiful wedding and not spend a fortune! The Grand made our wedding planning so easy and enjoyable, and we will definitely work with them in the future. Our guests all had a great experience with their rooms and the breakfast for guests in the morning was phenomenal. We will be raving about The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for quite some time!

We got married at the Grand and the staff took care of absolutely everything. Our event coordinator was Michelle and she was great. She responded to all of my e-mails within a day of sending them and really helped us to personalize our day. I love that they had us bring everything from the cake topper to the programs in a week before the wedding. It felt like a weight had been lifted!\r\rThe day of we felt like royalty. The bridal suite was spacious and perfect for our needs. We had both our ceremony and reception there and they were able to transform the hall between the two both efficiently and beautifully. We were attended to all night and at the end we were escorted to our room with food and cake (as we had barely been able to eat, it was much appreciated). The brunch the next day was delicious and a nice way to say good-bye to our guests.\r\rConsidering the price per person included the cocktail hour, meal, and open bar, you really can't find a better deal around.

i honestly cant say enough good things about this place. from the moment we checked out the venue to our wedding night the staff were BEYOND accomidating and nice. Gina my coordinator had everything EXACTLY how I wanted the day of my wedding. for someone whose Type-a mixed with a lil OCD i was EXTREMLY impressed. the night of our wedding our maitre'D and personal waiter took such good care of us, our drinks were never empty, anything we wanted we got, they packed up EVERYTHING for us at the end of the night,and practically tucked us into bed. I love this place because you get so much for your money, everything is included and everything is at one location. my guests are STILL raving about the food and the hotel rooms, and the overall hospitality. its just an amazing place.

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel really knows how to put together an amazing event. If you’ve decided that you really need a view, this probably isn’t the venue for you, but seriously, everything else about this place is awesome. They have unbeatable quality and service and at a much lower price than other places in the area. I have so many examples of how they went above and beyond - they discreetly helped me accommodate an unannounced guest, and they created a unique meal for a vegan guest (day of), just to name a few examples. And of course, they really delivered on everything you'd expect too -- outstanding service and attention to all of our guests, fantastic food and an abundance of booze, really great presentation of the rooms, and the personalized attention leading up to and on the day of the event that made a wedding planner totally unnecessary. Like I said, they do an amazing job and we were vert happy with them every step of the way.

Room was perfect, however we encountered endless problems booking our wedding accommodations at this hotel. Management is disorganized and staff is incompetent. They promised we would have enough rooms in our block, but without our knowledge, they ended up only blocking 10 rooms for a wedding of 250! They apologized for their error but would not offer any remedy. 2 months before our wedding we had to book a new block of rooms at the Marriott and pay for transportation for our Marriott guests. Had difficulty at every step planning with the Grand Hotel - too bad because it is a beautiful place.

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was great. My guests booked over 70 rooms! The staff was great, the rooms were good and our bridal suite was huge and perfect for me to get ready with my bridesmaids. Complementary breakfast was also a big plus! My guests enjoyed the hotel bar after the wedding as well. The rooms are a LITTLE pricey though.

This place is absolutely great. They do an amazing job on all fronts. The room was spacious for the ceremony and the reception. All of our guests said the place was great, the food was great, the staff was very accommodating and provided excellent service. The wedding coordinator that we had was excellent. She answered any questions that we had very promptly and worked to find the answers to questions we had if she did not know right away. The staff took such good care of the bridal party during cocktail hour and during the reception. Everytime I turned around there was someone giving me another drink. Excellent, friendly customer service here! I would definitely recommend this place to all of my friends and family looking for a place to have a wedding in the future or any other event.

I had high expectations for the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel as I had heard great things from family, friends, and vendors. I was also very happy to have had the opportunity to work with Michelle, until she started lying. Everything was great until a couple weeks before the wedding. Last minute, Michelle told us she couldn't make it to the rehearsal, which I understand, but it was last minute. She did not speak with the other coordinator about the details of our wedding which led to a disorganized rehearsal. I do believe that Michelle is a great coordinator, but I sincerely believe that her not being at the rehearsal and not communicating with Gina led to a lot of miscommunication the day of the wedding. We were told that employees would take care of certain things that apparently they are not. They did not help direct people into the ceremony room, as if the guests are supposed to know where to go. They are accusing our officiant of doing things wrong and causing the delay. They accused our photographers of causing the delay. They are accusing everyone else instead of taking responsibility for not doing what they promised, even if it is not hotel policy. If it in not hotel policy, they shouldn't have told us they would get people into the ceremony and have our families ready for pictures. \r\rAs a result of the MASSIVE amounts of miscommunication, we were unable to get family pictures. We have one picture of each family and that is it. \r\rOverall, my wedding was great and the food was amazing. My guests loved the wedding, but I am absolutely disgusted at the amount of lying that Michelle is doing in relation to our wedding. I think that many people made mistakes and a lot of things were not well communicated, but for Michelle to fabricate accusations about our other vendors, my husband yelling at her, and the fact that she checked on me all day is unprofessional and uncalled for. I also want to add that my mother was an integral part of the planning process and wedding day. My mother attended every meeting as she was paying for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, Michelle did not even acknowledge her or say hi to her, especially knowing about a family emergency that my family had gone through only 5 days before the wedding that through all of us off track. \r\rI would recommend the grand, but I would most certainly suggest to get more information in writing as to the timeline of the day.

We had a fairytale wedding from the moment we walked into our reception room. They take the time to bring the bride and groom into your reception room before the reception begins to make sure everything was to your satisfaction. They then were showering us with attention from beginning to end. They made sure everything was to our satisfaction at all times. Their service was also perfect. All the guests were pleased with everything. I can not say enough positive things about our wedding. We owe it all to the amazing staff at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

Since the first time I called Michelle at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel I was impressed at the knowledge, helpfulness and professionalism. Michelle and Tara helped us plan and put the pieces together for the wedding. The day of the wedding was amazing. My husband and I can not say enough how GREAT everyone was. The wait staff was terrific. I don't think I had to ask for anything. They made sure we had everything we wanted or asked for. They met us at the door when we arrived and led us to our room at the end of the night. All our guests commented on the place as well. They brought my husband and I into the hall before the reception to make sure everything was ok. I would recommend the Poughkeesie Grand Hotel to Anyone. They are AMAZING there.

The Poughkeepsie grand accommodated every wish we had, no questions asked. The very basics that they offer far supersede what other venues will even consider. We used the sapphire package. We did not want to waste money on things like an envelope box and the Poughkeepsie grand had one of their own to use. The cake was amazing (we love the pastry garden!), the food was delicious, and they gave us leftovers to take. We had so much, we had a small dinner party the next night and re-heated the food. I would recommend this venue to anybody. They absolutely spoiled us on our wedding day, and our glasses/our bridal parties glasses were never empty.

Our Wedding coordinator Tara was awesome too; she helped us with all the details. We were able to get Sam Adams on Tap for the wedding and was a popular drink.

In the beginning of my wedding planning, I was not interested in the Grand Hotel. I had thought that it was too small for what I wanted for our 175 guests. But I was completely wrong. My husband had wanted to have our reception at the Grand and had convinced me that I would be more than satisfied with the treatment and amenities that they provided. We had the Starlight-Dutchess for our cocktail hour and the Regency for our reception. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care of. Anything we wanted (even the day of) they tried to achieve for us. The rooms were decorated exactly to the specifications that we wanted. I will say that I was wrong to ever doubt their ability to put on an absolutely beautiful reception. The catering and sales manager, Michelle was our saving grace and was there for every step of the process. She made sure that our reception had the food, decor and service that we had requested. My family, friends and party felt like they were completely taken care of. I could not be more grateful for all that the Poughkeepsie Grand did for us.

My husband and I had our wedding here and the staff, food, and service was exceptional. We had many out of town guests who enjoyed the convenience of walking right upstairs to their hotel room at the end of the night. Tara was our wedding coordinator and did a fantastic job. Our guests had a wonderful time and many said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to!!!

From the minute we saw the Grand we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. Through the planning the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The day of the wedding was stress free- they took care of everything and made sure my husband and I were happy and enjoying ourselves. It is also incredibly well priced, including centerpieces and cake with all packages. I received so many compliments on how well everything turned out and how great the staff was.

The Poughkeepsie Grand is amazing! They have a wonderful array of packages that can fit into anyone's budget. The venue itself is beautiful with enough room to accommodate everyone no matter the size of your wedding. The cocktail hour is awesome! They will bring you everything and anything that is being served right to your own private room. During the reception your drink is always full and they aim to please by assigning a personal staff to the couple. It was just a pleasant experience from top to bottom!! Loved it and would do it all over again!

If you are getting married in Poughkeepsie and have your reception anywhere but here, then you are getting ripped off, sorry. They were amazing! We had the mid grade package, and at first I thought it was a little expensive, but we only paid like $90 a person and our package included massive amounts of food, an upgrade in food, free hotel rooms, flowers, the cake, linens, a signature cocktail, they offered seconds for dinner, it was just amazing. We had our own private suite to get ready in and have private cocktail hour in, the service was impeccable, our maitre d was there to greet us the moment the limo pulled up, we had champagne brought to us the entire time we were getting ready, the staff was wonderful and our coordinator was amazing. They know how to throw a party, and they did a phenomenal job. Our guests were saying that it was the best wedding they had every been to. I was thrilled to hear it!! It was definitely thanks to the venue!!!!!!

Overall we were extremely happy with the Pok Grand for our wedding. Our Maitre d' Jacob was OUTSTANDING! He knew what we wanted before we wanted it and made sure we had it, whatever it was. All the service staff were amazing. The food was good, not great, but tasty and there was tons of it. The only complaint we have is about our wedding coordinator Michelle. My husband and I are very non-traditional people. We didn't want the standard cookie cutter wedding, rather one that really reflected us and our likes. Michelle fought us every step of the way. One of the things I didn't like was that when you do a sweetheart table, they put the cake table directly in front of it. I'm short, so no one would be able to see me behind my cake. When I said I wanted it moved, she told me that was how they did it. It took me ten minutes of arguing for her to say, \"oh well we can put it over here.\" Many things were like that with Michelle. So I say use the Grand because they are an amazing deal and you get good quality for the money, but stay away from Michelle.

I worked with Rachel Davis. She was amazing. Everytime I had a question I emailed her and within minutes she would email me back. The service at the wedding was amazing. We had Jacob as a Maitre'D and Anthony as a head server. They were both awesome and everyone talked about how great the food and service was for the reception. We had a problem with the bartenders and making no alcholic blended drinks and as soon as we told our Maitre' D he straightened it all out and those guests got thier drinks.

We had our wedding reception at the Grand in July and could not have been happier! From the planning stages through the end of the night, everyone was extremely helpful. We did not have to worry about anything throughout the night and all of our guests really enjoyed themselves. The Grand also provides five guest rooms and the honeymoon suite as part of the wedding package, which we found really nice. It was also wonderful that our Maitre'd packaged up part of each course and brought it up to our room at the end of the night...we were so busy enjoying ourselves at the wedding that we did not get to eat as much as we would have liked. It was nice being able to enjoy the food later on! We definitely recommend the Grand...they helped to make our wedding day so wonderful!

They think of every detail. I've heard the arguement that they are a \"wedding factory\" but rest assured you have your own staff for the whole time, your wedding consultant is with you the whole time, you get 5 hotel rooms and a bridal suite! The bridal suite itself has a hot tub in it.

I loved that it was a hotel so people could stay there and we didn't have to worry about them getting home. The service from the workers was fantastic the new renovations are beautiful and we got several compliments from our guests at how great they thought everything was.;just make sure you know what you are getting we ordered an ice sculpture which we paid extra for and it was not the one we had asked for when we got to the reception but after i told my coordinator she looked into it and gave us a partial refund for it.
