My husband and I had our wedding at Prospect House in November 2023, and it was a wonderful experience! The space itself is gorgeous, and its recent acquisition has led to several improvements. The ceremony area and the view are stunning —even more so in person. The getting-ready areas for the wedding party are modern and stylish, while having enough room to easily accommodate a large party. The reception space is minimalist, clean, and tasteful. We opted for more subdued florals and the natural design of the space easily stands for itself. We also particularly loved the bud wall!Working with the Prospect House team was great and they were very attentive, helpful, and communicative in every step leading up to the big day. Especially Elizabeth Juarez, who we loved. They worked seamlessly with all of our vendors, making it easy for us to enjoy the day. We even asked to use a caterer that wasn’t a preferred vendor of Prospect House and they readily accommodated us.Some considerations for this venue based on our experience: The location is relatively far outside of central Austin, so we opted for renting buses to take guests to and from the venue, since we had a large number of out-of-state guests. Also, the central breezeway where (depending on your wedding timeline) guests will likely gather before and after the ceremony is not air-conditioned or heated, so depending on season that could be a challenge. Our date was a little colder than anticipated so we did rent some heaters to help heat the space to make our guests comfortable. Overall it was a wonderful day and we’re so happy to have chosen Prospect House to host our special day and celebrate with our loved ones. Reviewed on 13-12-2023

WOW. My husband and I just got married at Prospect House on 11.17 of this year and I cannot say enough good things about this venue. After we booked PH as our wedding venue, we were saddened to hear that the original owners had sold off. My husband and I were a bit anxious about the new owners and what may have changed - but to our luck, we experienced the most seemless ownership transition and we felt nothing but immense support and over communication throughout the entire process. I have to give a huge shoutout to Elizabeth who helped make this as easy as possible, but who also followed every contractual agreement that we had originally agreed upon. She helped us with new ideas, sent us images of the fresh updates to the site and even made sure that some of our large asks were met with upon reason. On our wedding day, we were dedicated a site manager. We were lucky to get Bianca. Bianca is hilarious but also hard working. She made sure to help where we needed and was always there for the smallest of things (like scissors - LOL!) BOOK YOUR WEDDING/EVENT HERE. I promise it will be the best decision you make Reviewed on 28-11-2023

We had our wedding at Prospect House in May 2023 and cannot explain how perfect the venue was for our ceremony + reception. From our first on site tour, Erich and Kathryn reassured us immediately that this was the right fit for our size of celebration and our overall style. The ceremony space offers a beautiful view for your guests, a lovely breezeway and a spacious dining hall. We have lived in Austin for over 10 years, and have heard wonderful things about The Prospect House. The venue has the option to celebrate all night with a mix of both indoors and outdoors and that is what sold us. The dining area provided perfect lighting. And one end provides plenty of floor space to bring in live entertainment (in our case it was a 3 piece DJ/Band combo). Prospect House was fabulous to work with, and our night under the stars wouldn't have been possible without such a clean space and gorgeous hill country backdrop. Thank you PROSPECT HOUSE! The bold architectural detailing with killer views of the hill country was all we needed to see to decide this was it for us. The minimalist white interiors allowed us to truly make our own and decorate it to really fit our vision. We could go on and on but some of the other highlights of the venue for us included the location, the getting ready suites that were available, the built-in inclement weather ceremony space, and the biergarten for our cocktail hour! Not only is it in a beautiful setting, the minimalist atmosphere gives you a canvas to do whatever you could imagine. As two architects getting married, we were drawn to the venue for its minimal design and had this idea to hang a giant globe from the wheel that would glow and change with the music. Prospect House had never seen it done before but were super open to the idea and offered suggestions on how to make it happen. You can’t go wrong doing as much or as little design and decoration with the venue as you wish - the architecture speaks for itself, but it is also the perfect theatre to completely transform into a highly personalized and curated space. They worked with us with changing our date due to COVID, and all communication was fast, friendly, and helpful! The reason for the three star review is because their venue manager was so outlandishly rude to everyone. She came in four hours before the wedding, yelled at my bridesmaids, myself, and my groom for no reason. Then didn’t stop yelling at us the entire night. She was condescending, pushy, and made me very uncomfortable. Every person she came in contact with, excluding the florist, had a terrible interaction with her and complained to me about her. Five guest bathrooms, well-appointed bridal and groomsmen's ready rooms, a welcoming breezeway with built-in bar to welcome your guests, adequate parking, and a large kitchen and back entrance for vendors, kept things running smoothly. Prospect is simple, modern and uses all of the natural beauty and light to its best advantage. Prospect provides nice chairs, tables (rounds, rectangles and cocktail height) and a built in bar. The outdoor space is amazing, and the whole venue is a perfect backdrop for any type of decor. It's one of those places where it's even more striking in person than in the photos. All of the other vendors we lined up (photographer, videographer, catering, floral, wedding planner, DJ) raved about how Prospect House is one of their favorite venues. The owners were very intentional and thoughtful to create a place that worked ideally for customers and vendors. However, with Covid, we were not able to hold the wedding as planned. But I wanted to write a review about the people behind the venue, because they're just as important. If you'd like to know something about the couple behind Prospect House, ask Kathryn or Erich about how the venue came to be. Every step of the way, these two have bent over backward to make sure we had everything we needed to put on a spectacular wedding with details that were completely new and unique. Some of our ideas required creativity and openness from our venue, and I doubt the more traditional or cookie-cutter venues would have been interested in making it happen. But when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19, that's when we saw the biggest benefit to going with Prospect House. And Erich and Kathryn were absolutely amazing to work with throughout the entire process! They answered all of our (many) questions up front, allowed us to visit the venue multiple times, and were so flexible in how we decorated and used the space.I also want to note that with Texas’ unpredictable storm patterns, the fact that Prospect House has both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces is such a stress-reliever. On the day of our wedding, we were caught off-guard by a lot of morning and afternoon sun (as we were expecting rain storms). While many vendors require setup details to be finalized within 24 hours of the ceremony, Erich's team gave us ample time to decide whether to setup the indoor or outdoor ceremony space on the day of our wedding. Within a few hours of the ceremony, we ultimately decided indoor would be safer, and the well-known bud vase wall served as a gorgeous backdrop for our nuptials. The space is incredible and our wedding was so fun. Kathryn and Erich were really easy to work with and were super responsive to our many, many questions during the planning process. A few things to note:-We got married on a very hot day in early June and the AC in the reception hall was not great. We specifically chose a venue with an indoor reception area to keep guests cool and it was pretty warm the whole evening.-There were a few things wrong when we arrived (no soap in the bathrooms, clogged sink in the larger getting ready room) and there didn't seem to be anyone to direct our questions to onsite. There is also no dumpster onsite so make sure your caterer (or someone else) is able to haul off trash.-There were wasps all around the outdoor ceremony area and we couldn't go into the field for pictures because of rattle snakes! The perils of a partially outdoor venue outside the city in the summertime, but just something to consider when you're picking your wedding date.None of these things are the end of the world, but considering the amount you pay for the venue I thought they were worth mentioning. But really, there's nowhere else I could imagine getting married. It is so gorgeous and they've put a lot of thought into how to make the space work for events of many sizes. Reviewed on 12-07-2018

The venue was stunning and the venue owners were laid back for a majority of the time leading up to the wedding day. However, there were a handful of miscommunications on the wedding day & the weeks following. The Air-Conditioner would not cool the reception area down to any temperature below 80 degrees (in the middle of the summer heat), there was no on-site staff available to help with day-of venue-related issues, there was miscommunication regarding chair set up, and they were unkind at the end of the evening due to another miscommunication, which they apologized for the following day. Overall, the venue is amazing, but a few kinks need to be worked out on the business side of things -- these were issues no one wants to have to deal with on the most important day of their life. I'm not sure if the expense of the venue equaled the quality of service provided. Leigh McCormick(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-12-2016 We had our wedding there in December 2016. Of course I'm biased now, but there is not a more beautiful hill country venue. Kathryn and Erich are a joy to work with, and have put so much thought into every little detail with the space and the aesthetic. It was so carefully designed from the perspective of someone who is getting married, vs. a building that was turned into a venue. We wanted a hill country wedding but weren't going for a rustic or country feel, so contemporary design set against the hill country landscape was perfect. The thoughtful design came in handy because there was 100% chance of rain the week of our wedding. We didn't have to fuss or worry about renting a tent, or purchasing extra decor as the flower wall in the breezeway makes for the perfect backdrop for an indoor wedding. They also provide you with all the chairs and tables, cocktail tables, and space heaters, when other venues charge per chair. The getting ready suites for bride and groom are spacious, chic, and comfortable. Prospect House is a gorgeous space with barely any or a lot of decor, has fantastic lighting, and magical touches such as the weather vane in the center of the reception hall. Our guests were blown away with how beautiful and magical the whole night was. Rain or shine, Prospect House is THE wedding venue if you're looking for a hill country wedding. They make wedding planning a breeze and they are responsive, available, and accommodating. Seriously, can not recommend The Prospect House enough. Reviewed on 25-11-2016
Ashley Tankersley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-11-2016 My husband and I got married November 2016 at the Prospect House. This venue is what made our wedding unique and unforgettable. Choosing the right venue was the most important factor for my husband and I, and I am SO glad we came across this place. We wanted something a bit more industrial and modern than your typical rustic-chic texas venue. Prospect house is modern without feeling stuffy, and breathtaking on its own. The architecture allows couples to decorate as minimalistic or extravagant as you want, you really can't go wrong in this place. Erich the owner was SO accommodating and willing to help throughout the whole planning process. We couldn't have asked for a better experience or more beautiful place. Go see it in person, it will blow you away! Reviewed on 21-11-2016
Myan Duong(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-10-2015 Trying to find a venue in Texas that appreciates the beauty of the countryside, but doesn't look like a barn is difficult to find. It is every modern/designer/minimalist's dream venue and we are happy that we got to spend the happiest day of our lives there. Erich and his staff were the nicest people you could ask to work with - always responsive and accommodating. I would this venue long before construction was done (nor was I engaged) but months later, when I finally had that ring on my finger, we came straight to PH and booked within the week. Everything came together like a dream and we couldn't be happier. Reviewed on 18-10-2016
Mike K(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-05-2016 My wife and I booked with Prospect House just as construction was getting started. As soon as we saw the renderings of the venue, we immediately knew that this was where we wanted to get married. It's a super trendy, modern barn setting unlike anything I've ever seen. This was the first venue I viewed before browsing around at the other Dripping Springs locations and later out in Napa Valley. Prospect House outshined them all without even being completely built! To be honest, I actually booked this venue before my wife even had a chance to see it. A month after saying our I do's, she still reminds me how perfect the choice was.All of our of guests loved the portrait frame in the ceremony space and the floral decorations we had on the decoration wall. The venue space really speaks for itself with the modern and industrial architecture. You could decorate with as much or as little as you want and the space still looks gorgeous. The layout of the venue is absolutely perfect for weddings because the breezeway is so easily accessible from the ceremony space and the reception hall. The transition from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception was absolutely seamless. The owners, Kathryn and Erich, were amazing to work with. With our constant barrage of random questions, they answered each as if it was our first. They were both easily accessible on all days throughout the week and were very responsive. We can't thank them enough for their support during our planning stages. We're just so grateful that they made their vision of an event space into a reality because the venue ended up being the perfect setting for our style. Reviewed on 28-06-2016
Jessica Moynihan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-05-2016 Prospect House is a DREAM. I was married here at the end of May and this venue truly embodied my husband and I's personalities perfectly. We were dying to find a venue in the hill country that was more modern and sleek. We toured so many popular venues, and none compared. Prospect House, though modern, has the most warm and welcoming feel. Not to mention, the owners, Erich and Kathryn, are the two nicest people you'll ever meet. They are so kind and accommodating. Any time I sent Erich an email with a question, he would answer in less than an hour. They are wonderful and treat you like family. Our wedding here was stunning, all of my guests raved about all the unique features Prospect House offers. I could not be happier about my entire experience with Prospect House!! My husband and I both were proud to be married in such a beautiful and unique space. Reviewed on 14-06-2016
Lindsay Chronister(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-05-2016 I LOVE PROSPECT HOUSE! I hope I know more people who get married here in the future so I can keep coming back to this gorgeous venue. We toured this venue when it wasn't completely finished, but I knew it would be amazing and it definitely is. I'm so happy we got married there. Kathryn and Erich are amazing and so helpful throughout the process - great people to work with! The venue itself is kind of like... Texas dance hall meets art gallery? The space is so simple and beautiful and you can do so so many different things with it. We had a lot of fun decorating the space for the day (I DIY'ed nearly everything) and it turned out great! I'm so glad a space like Prospect House exists among the sea of shabby chic and country western in the Hill Country, and just in time to get married there! Reviewed on 06-06-2016
Lauren Corbett(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2015 We booked our wedding at Prospect House before it was built, and it is even more beautiful in person than in the architectural renderings. It looks like a contemporary barn on the outside, but inside it has a very modern gallery feel. There's a ton of natural light, and the selling point for us was the ceremony space. It was incredibly beautiful and our guests raved about it for weeks afterward! On top of all of that, the owners are incredibly nice and easy to work with- they helped make our wedding SO perfect!
