We recently got married at Paradise Outlook and had our reception at Purgy's. The venue and ceremony site were perfect. The San Juan views are mesmerizing and the venue has so much potential to where you can dress it up to whatever is your style. And we are SO grateful for their team that made it all happen just days before our date! (There was a lot of uncertainty about location because of the crazy amount of snow that came that winter.) Terisa was communicative, answered all of our ongoing questions(for over a year ;) and we were ecstatic to find out the good news the week of our wedding that we could keep our ceremony site as planned! I'd say we asked for quite a few 'untraditional' requests throughout our planning ;) and Terisas' answer was always \"Let me find out for you\". They were more than accommodating with our requests and those details made our wedding so special and unique (our guests are still in awe!). There will always be a special place in our hearts for Purgatory and the staff that made it all happen- it truly take a village! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our big day that much more memorable. Reviewed on 25-07-2023

Terisa and her team are by far one of the best vendors to collaborate with! As a florist when I get onsite it’s go time. Her and her team are extremely accommodating in any way they can to make sure each wedding day goes by smoothly. Which is a huge plus for a florist and every vendor involved. We are able to get into the site early in the morning and take our time to produce your picture perfect wedding. Not just that, but having a walk in cooler to store florals in during the preparation process is incredible and preserves the integrity of the flowers. Purgatory Weddings goes above and beyond for each of their clients and vendors. They stay in constant communication with everyone (vendor and client) so when we show up on site the day we can get our jobs done to the highest of standards. It also allows the party getting married to be able to enjoy their entire day instead of worrying about what is happening on the set up side. After setting dozens of weddings at Purgatory I can also ensure you that each ceremony and reception site is kept to the highest of standards. Allowing you and your party to encompass the magical views, create everlasting memories, and enjoy your beautiful wedding day! I highly recommend Purgatory Weddings to all of my brides! You will not be disappointed! Reviewed on 19-12-2023
Kelsey Moorhouse(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-09-2021 I can't say enough good things about the Purgatory wedding crew! We planned a wedding in less than three months time thanks to the help of Laura and Terisa. Our wedding was in the fall which meant all of the planning happened during their busiest time of the year for other weddings. Even with the short notice, Purgatory was able to accommodate us for site tours and food tastings. The team is so thorough on all aspects of coordinating between vendors and guests. I didn't have to stress about any logistics on the wedding day thanks to their preparation, and was able to just enjoy the big day. We got married at Boyce and it was the perfect mountain dream wedding site. It rained on our wedding day so the team quickly accommodated last minute changes without having to involve me. The reception was at Purgys and we had so many guests compliment the food! Even the vegetarian dish was excellent. The team thought of all pieces to have in place to make sure we had a perfect day. Thank you for everything! Reviewed on 09-02-2022
Anne Salvato(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-08-2020 We had an amazing wedding weekend at Purgatory! Katie was our wedding coordinator. It was really important to us to have everything outside to decrease covid risk for our guests. The purgatory team was very flexible with everything and helped us figure out the logistics of a completely outside ceremony and reception. The food was delicious for both our welcome dinner and reception! Thank you for helping us celebrate during this strange time! Reviewed on 13-08-2020
Dasha Wood(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-09-2019 I would have loved to leave a five star review but there were some negative things. First things first, my wedding was absolutely beautiful. My wedding coordinator Shea was amazing. She was the other me on my day. She was always a step ahead of me and took care of whatever my guests and I needed. The resort on the other hand didnt. A lot of my guests were very unhappy with their rooms. They didnt get what they paid for and the resort was not up front about a lot. The food that was served at my reception was awful. The steaks were still mooing and some of the chicken was undercooked as well. Considering I brought the resort so much business the weekend of my wedding ( because most of my 100 guests stayed at the resort) I was hoping I could maybe get my room free or at a heavy discount but was not so lucky. We stayed at the resort for four nights and I spent around 800 dollars just on out room. I wish I could give a better review but just trying to be honest. Reviewed on 02-12-2019
Chanel McDowell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 Purgatory was the perfect setting for our ceremony and reception. Karlee, the coordinator helped so much on my wedding day and kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Boyce ceremony site was really beautiful with the aspens and the mountain range in the background. Purgy's is a great place for a reception, and we had so many people compliment the food and say it was the best steak ever! Reviewed on 11-10-2018
Rachel Rutledge(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-06-2018 Everyone at purgatory resort was extremely helpful In the whole thing planning process. Karlee is absolutely amazing and went over and above to make sure that our day was amazing despite complications with the venue because of a forest fire. I would highly recommend this location especially because of their incredible wedding coordinator. Reviewed on 28-06-2018
Erika Martinez(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2017 First off, let me say my wedding was a dream and everything went off without a hitch. Karlee is so sweet, professional, responsive and organized. She took care of us all night! There were a few bumps in the road (otherwise I would have rated this a 5) that made me think our size of wedding was something they hadn't handled before, but after I expressed all my concerns with Karlee, she made sure all the issues were addressed and resolved. The organization was key because all of our guests had to be shuttled back and forth between the ceremony and reception, and it went smooth, despite me concerns it might not. We are big foodies and wanted to make sure the food was prepared and ready in a timely manner and we were not disappointed. It was so delicious! We had our ceremony at Boyce, which is gorgeous and our reception in the festival tent. Some advice to couples in the tent: Make sure you invest in lighting! To add to our perfect weekend we stayed at the Cantilever Cabin, which was the perfect setting for our rehearsal, and weekend entertaining for our guests. Thank you Purgatory for making our wedding perfect!!! Reviewed on 06-09-2017

crystal mcdaniel(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2011 Over all they were a good company to work with. The only problems we ran into were comunication problems with the lady running it, issues booking rooms for everyone staying there, and unfilled promises. The food was great and our compt room was really nice. Reviewed on 25-07-2011
Jolynn Whitbeck(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2010 Our wedding was beautiful at Durango Mountain Resort. For the price, I would have to say DMR was a great deal. However, it is near impossible at times to contact the event coordinator there. She is SO overworked and needs an assistant. \rThe food at our reception was delicious, but the community center where we held the reception was only so-so. You're not allowed to hang anything from the ceiling, put anything on the walls, etc there. I would recommend renting the large, outdoor tent for plans of that sort. Reviewed on 16-09-2010
Brittney Ouellette(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-07-2006 We were married at Dante's/Cafe de los Pinos. The site of the ceremony was beautiful. It sat on on mountaintop with mountains in the background. Almost no decor was needed since the view was all we needed. The cost of the venue also included the catering, bar, ceremony location, transportation, set-up, and take-down.;The woman we worked wit for months to plan the wedding didn't even attend the wedding. We had to work with the restaurant manager. The transportation we had coordinated with the resort to get to the restaurant didn't keep to the schedule we had set. The place had not been cleaned from the last wedding. The layout for the seating arrangement didn't match. They tried to rush us through everything. They told us we could use the outdoor soundsystem for the cocktails, but it hadn't worked in months. No one served our appetizers. The dance floor was tiny. They were supposed to have a cash bar prior to the ceremony and water available. But there was no water and they started with an open bar so it was empty by the time dancing started. Almost nothing was done how I had imagined and planned it to go. I was very disappointed but I still enjoyed the day. Reviewed on 10-05-2010
