We LOVED having our reception at The Ralph Engelstad Arena! We had ours in front of the Sioux shop in December! AnnMarie and Julie were AMAZING to work with throughout the engagement season and the wedding day! They were great at communicating, always friendly, very helpful, and flexible which was important to us because we decorated the venue and had to get in the day before to do so. I could not reccomend a better venue in Grand Forks if you care about friendliness, care, beauty of setting, promptness, flexibility, and helpfulness. The food was also delicious!

Amazing service! All of our guests complimented us on how great the food tasted and how beautiful the place looked for our wedding! If we are ever hosting a large event again we would definitely consider the Ralph.

I would chose this venue over and over again! Everything went so smoothly and we did not have to worry about a thing. The staff was so nice and helpful with all the planning and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it!

The REA made planning so easy and worked with us to make sure everything was perfect. It is a gorgeous venue! The food is absolutely the best. We received so many compliments, and could not have asked for a better day!

The Ralph was such a fun place to have our reception! The catering staff was great and the event coordinator was so helpful and was always answering my questions and emailing with me! They accommodated for everything that we needed and we couldn’t be happier with them! Highly recommend!

The Ralph Engelstad Arena is a beautiful venue and a great place to have a wedding reception. Julie and Alison are both wonderful to work with and work extra hard to make your reception exactly how you pictured it. I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked. The only part that did not make this a 5 out of 5 was my husband had order a steak and we asked them to be cooked medium and the one he recieved was well done but other guests we talked to said their food was cooked perfectly. The chicken I had was delicious. If I could do my wedding all over again I would pick the Ralph again in a heartbeat!

REA was a great place to hold our reception. The staff was great and accommodating, and it looked great! Minimal decorating needed, too because it's such a beautiful building, even 2 months after a fire when they're still cleaning!

I used the Ralph for my reception location, and it was amazing. It was absolutely gorgous, and I couldn't have had a better place. The staff was very easy to work with, and I always heard back from my contact person within a reasonable amount of time. It was actually her that made me choose them; there wasnt a single other place I looked into that was as personable and accomidating or who would return calls and make me feel like I was respected in that manor. The food was amazing, and again, the head cook was great. He personally did our tasting, took sugestions, and even gave us to-go boxes so we could try the food again if we were uncertain or just wanted more. The only problem with the food wasnt even the venue's fault; the lagana ended up having no sause on it, but I found out later that my mother had called them and a week before the reception to tell them that there was too much sause on it when we had the tasting and to fix it. The week before the event, there was actually a fire in the building that caused millions of dollars in damage. I was getting nervous about how it would effect us, and was going to call them during buissness hours the next day to ask. I got a phone call immediately the next morning from the ralph where someone said how I was probably wondering how this effects my event, explained exactly what happened, how thery are fixing it, and what they are doing to make sure everything is perfect by Saturday. It was completely unexpected, and appreciated. I felt so well taken care of that they would go out of their way like that, and I had no misgivings at all after his reassurence. I have only two complaints. One is that there was one staff member working the reception who had a horrible attitude and was actually getting cranky with me when I had asked a question; the bride is not exactly the person you should be giving attitude to when you work a wedding. Everyone else was great though, and overall it was a wonderful experience. Two, there was another reception being held the same day at the same time. I wasnt told about this ahead of time, and the parking areas were not clearly marked, so some of my guests ended up at the other reception, and some of theirs ended up at ours, and even others got lost entirely, just a few more signs could have fixed that situation.

One might not think of a hockey arena as the best place to hold a wedding reception, but trust my wife and me, this place is perfect for just that. A beautiful lobby with marble floors and classy decor set the tone for a memorable evening. The director and chef were extra willing to work with us on all of our requests, and the prices were more than reasonable. In fact, they were much less expensive than other venues we checked out. We had numerous comments from our guest about the quality of the food, staff, atmosphere, and location. I highly recommend REA to those planning a wedding reception!!
