Celebrate Life and Love in the Barn & Outdoor area
Located 15 minutes from downtown, Rancho La Mission is a beautiful ranch wedding venue in San Antonio, TX. Nestled amidst landscaped gardens and lush greenery, this setting is ideal for couples looking to celebrate their union in the lap of nature.
Ceremonies can be held under the purpose-built gazebo. This can be found on a small island in the middle of a fishing pond that can only be accessed via a cedar bridge. Your photographers will be as thrilled as you because to say “I do” against this serene landscape is literally picture-perfect. For your reception, you have two options. The rustic indoor barn, with its high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and wagon wheel chandeliers, is suited for a country chic celebration. Alternatively, you could host the event in the outdoor plaza. This gives an open-air feel with a rustic winter wonderland ambiance. The twinkling overhead lights only adds to the magic of the space. It is also flanked by pavilions, making room for more guests, although the total capacity of this ranch stands at 2000.
There are several packages curated according to budget for your consideration. It is also possible to mix and match depending on your needs. In-house catering is available too, with the culinary team taking charge to indulge you and your loved ones to delicious fare and wine. The resident wedding coordinator will oversee every aspect and every detail to make the day a success. Tables, chairs, decors, audio equipment, and a photo booth can be provided to further realize your vision.

Rancho la Mission Reviews
Andrew Garza(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-03-2023 So me and my wife were the winners of the Barn Wedding Giveaway. Which is an amazing thing they’re doing at Rancho La Mission. They gave us $20k towards our dream wedding! They also have just about EVERYTHING covered at the venue. They offer everything from the bartenders, to the DJ, to the wedding planner! Melida is excellent! She knew exactly what needed to be done and how to get it done on the big day. They also provide the food, which was delicious! Everything is included in what you pay all with the venue. They allowed outside vendors as well, which was great. The venue is absolutely beautiful. It was everything me and my wife wanted. Even though it was pretty cold, their indoor venue was well heated. I was constantly told how beautiful the whole wedding was. Raul was always just a phone call away if we had any questions. It was nice knowing we could reach out whenever and speak with someone who wanted to help. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Lastly, I have to say, Raul and Rancho La Mission gave me and my wife to have a wedding that she deserved. A big beautiful wedding. For that, I will be forever thankful. Reviewed on 30-03-2023
Kansas T(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2022 Do not waste your time with even a tour. This company has no principles. I understood to pay the $30 fee to keep the appt because they have to pay their staff. However, the company TEXT me less than 24 hours at 8:30PM before my appt to tell me 1. We don’t have your date available 2. We actually have an event at your appt time - can you come sooner? My answer was no to both those questions because your system allowed me to make an appt at 4pm on a Saturday and it is what worked for us. If you can’t accommodate us on our date - do the right thing and refund the money since a tour would be a waste of time. But now I had to fight to get a refund. They didn’t have to pay for someone to be there because they already had an event - so they are also a liar. Then they try to sign it with God Bless. Don’t come at me with your the fake polite stuff. Bad business practices. Save your headache. They also knew I was going to leave this review and I have screenshots. They finally gave me my refund. Reviewed on 13-08-2022

My husband and I went to look at it in January and fell in love with the rustic atmosphere. We just had our wedding yesterday and the venue was able to turn a rustic atmosphere into elegant. Melida and Raul are amazing people to work with. Melida was there from the beginning to the end while running a whole wedding next door. We had the out door venue with access to the pond and it made for beautiful pictures. All our guest were so moved with how gorgeous the venue looked. We will definitely be recommending this Venue. Justin Vela-Zamora(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2021 Definitely using Rancho La Mission for future events. I luckily found this venue when I had to search for a new location after our intended selection was closed and sold. We met with Raul who was extremely kind and went over all the logistics and numbers in detail. After a few months we started the official planning with Melida. We went to the venue to meet with her and go over our dream wedding. She was always available either via phone or in person to go over any additional details. Day of the wedding, both Raul and her were there early in the morning making sure that everything would be running smoothly. Especially since we had a huge stage production brought in. Even now two months after the weddingh we have family and friends still talking about how beautiful the scenery was there. Also the food provided by the caterers chosen by Melida and amazed at the 10 minute firework show. Can’t wait to have our 10 year anniversary there and go bigger! Reviewed on 19-10-2021
Melissa Schmitz(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-02-2022 You have to pay for a tour and than request for your money back. If you come for a tour it should be automatically refunded. Paid $30 for a tour that all they ask consistently is what is your budget and what is your date??? My budget is none of your business and my date is based on the venue availability. Asked us at least 3 different times and got the same response. Asked about pricing and all they said was see our website. If you go for a tour, make sure to bring bug spray with you. Mosquitos are horrible. Place looks like it was put together in pieces. Not what the website and photos show. Indoor dressing rooms are so small only a couple of people can fit. Bar and kitchen area were filthy. Again, paying for a tour I would think that they would want to show the place in great condition. Not the case at all.Save your money and go look at other places for free and that are more than happy to have you look and answer your questions. Reviewed on 26-08-2021

It was very short and not much detail to what we asking. We didn’t mind the animals. But every question we asked was directed back to online (It’s on the website.”). It says it is completely free tour but it is not. You only get back $25 To which we have requested about a week ago and have yet to see the return. Save your money. Christina Martinez(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2022 Booked a tour a few weekends ago and let me start by saying I didn’t like the whole $25 deposit BS but whatever. I guess they want to make sure we don’t waste their time. I get it. So we drive up. Cute but then there is really no signs directing you where to go. So we drive around once we make it to the back. Had to stop and ask some guy on a tractor and he directed me where to park. So we get off the car and get approached by a elderly gentleman. He was very sweet but he had us write our names down. Didn’t really rub me right. Didn’t feel professional but okay whatever. Proceeds to give us a tour but very hard to envision what our big day would look like when construction is going on and it’s not very clean. Brush is all over the place. The photos on the website are soooo amazing tho because they really give the illusion of a nice set up however I just feel like it’s all the angles.. I think it’s ridiculous the pricing tho. 9k for the barn and 5k for the pavilion... AND THATS IT. Been to a few venues and it’s amazing how they have all inclusive packages for 7/8k. Not this one. Was told Raul is the numbers guy. The elderly gentleman tracked him down and I felt like he was basically making up numbers on the spot. No pamphlets, no papers. Just making up numbers as we are talking. Definitely won’t be making our wedding here. Reviewed on 14-11-2020
Soleil Olvera(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2020 Our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect at Rancho La Mission! We had access to the entire venue (indoor and outdoor spaces), which also meant 2 bridal suites and a grooms suite to utilize for our larger wedding party. The staff was super helpful, the owner was terrific and the wedding planner/coordinator is the BEST EVER!!! The entire venue is gorgeous with different water features and plenty of great photo areas. There’s even an island with a great rock bridge that was completed just in time for our big day. The outdoor pavilion space was perfect for cocktail hour and allowed our guests to wander the rest of the venue to get some pictures of their own. It has its own bar area, so our guests didn’t have to go back and forth for drinks. The barn was amazing and made our reception/party that much better! There was plenty of space for all of our guests, separate bar and catering area and they allowed our photo booth to be set up outside. Everything about this venue was great! We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thank you Rancho La Mission! Reviewed on 12-11-2020

And we got there and the coordinator was not even aware we had one. she was stand off fish at the beginning because of the miss communication. so I showed her my email stating our appointment was set for 4pm. Apparently the owner scheduled the appointment. Not only that but the date we requested to have our wedding. The email stated that the date was available. The coordinator said it was not. Kristal Leyva(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-11-2020 I was charged 25 dollars for a tour. They did not mention they had a wedding being set up so I couldn't see bridal areas. During the tour I asked questions and was told Raul is the numbers guy he will answer those inside. We get to Raul and he basically was like if your willing to book now we can talk numbers but if not just know you are looking at 15k -20K. They said clean up, security and bartenders were mandatory through them but could not tell me how much the fee was for those services on top of the 8000 for venue. Highly disappointed. Haley Tardy(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-10-2020 Since I did not book the venue for my event I am not giving it one star, but for the introductory experience I feel like one star is not out of the question. If you get there and decide this is the place for you, then by all means, I hope it works out smoothly. We scheduled a tour, which be aware costs $25 AND IS NOT REFUNDED, and received no follow up. Since everything is done via their site, I assumed they would reach out to confirm, send pricing, info packets, a welcome message, etc. — especially as 1. I mentioned I was referred by someone in the message, and 2. there is no pricing or other info on their website. Nothing ever came, but I assumed they would have it day of like all the other places we have come to tour. When we arrived the day of, there were no signs or anything that would have been helpful to point us to where we were going to start the tour. As we parked and walked up to the barn we noticed an event being set up, and so we were unsure of who actually worked there or who may have been a vendor. We ended up asking someone at the bar who was talking to someone else if they worked there, as we had a tour scheduled. The man literally said nothing, brushed us off and then called over an older gentleman to give us the tour. The older man later actually called the guy at the bar (who had given no introduction, no, \"oh yes, nice to meet you, let me get someone to help\") RAUL who I now know to be the 'money man' or president/owner. I literally stopped when I heard that and looked at my mom like, \"really?\"While I think Luis (the older man who also said he was the owner) did the best he could, it would be nice if they had someone dedicated to giving tours, like a coordinator which is one thing it shows is included in their packages. Luis was unable to answer most of our questions about the venue, had to have us write down our names because he couldn't hear, and had no new information ie. things that were not on the site. But he did repeat at least a dozen times that packages start at one amount, though we could spend as much as we want on our event there — no kidding!Overall, it wasn't a great experience. Not what I would expect for somewhere that starts at $8k for just the venue. Reviewed on 03-04-2019

Gabrielle Guereca(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2018 This was by far the WORST venue I've ever been to. They shouldn't be allowed to advertise on any wedding site. I give props to the photographers for making this place look amazing, but in person it was a nightmare. This place is literally built in the guys front yard. There's no paved roads, they have chickens running around the property, it looks abandoned when you drive up to it, and it's not at all what they advertise. They couldn't pay me to have my wedding there!!! They don't have an occupancy certificate, they're not TABC licensed, and come to find out they've been sued by a number of brides. The woman, Melinda, was incredibly rude, and I feel like they're just out to take your money in a shady way. It was a wasted drive for me. Don't go. It's not worth it!! Reviewed on 07-03-2017

From the bad reviews to some personal experiences. And we must admit that it was a headache at first, but the outcome of it all was unbelievable. Raul, owner, gave us everything that he promised us and then some. Melida, wedding coordinator, worked her butt off for my husband and I. Yes, there are many negative reviews but there are also some amazing stories that are never told. The bad will always out way the good. To all the brides I want to say that this venue is breathtaking and wonderful and you will not be dissapointed on the outcome if you keep and open mind. I know from my personal experience that I was overwhelmed with ideas and visions on how I imagined my wedding day was going to look like, but you must also remember that you have to be realistic. Terri Muenzer(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2015 Stay away!! Our wedding was booked 16 months in advance. We booked the barn bc Raul said it would be done. Less than a month before our wedding he told us it might not be done and that we wouldn't get our money back since it is not stated in the contract that he has to give full refunds. (I have emails to prove it). He told us the guys could get ready in the stuffy bathroom since the barn was no longer ready. Not really ideal for photos. Michele who was his gf at the time is not a wedding planner and had no clue what was going on with out wedding at any time. She tried to book a meeting we already had booked (I have screen shots) and didn't do anything the day of exempt send people down the isle wrong and light our sparklers for the grand exit before my husband and I were even over there, and some of the guests including bridesmaids. (I have video to prove it). There was a chicken in the bridal suite overnight and it pooped everywhere and Raul refused to clean it when my dad told him about it. My dad had to clean it up and they had to catch the chicken. (I have a picture of this too.) We don't mind the animals on grounds but do mind when they poop in the room we are getting ready in and we have to clean it. There was a dead bird near the pen one time we came to check on the barn before our wedding. We told Michele and she was horrified. When she told Raul he was like yeah I know it's fine. It was gross and probably not something you want clients to see. There was a big hole in the ground in front of the barn where our ceremony was. It was covered with a piece of crappy looking plywood and a table during our rehearsal and then some hay bails for the actual wedding (we have pictures of this too). Raul has since taken off reviews on fb and is only posting good reviews from google which I am assuming are from people he knows (there were 151 new 5 star reviews when I looked today). There are many brides that have been through the same things as us. Check yelp or search through all the fake 5 stars on google for the real reviews. There will hopefully be a news story released in the near future. Google for that. Just stay away if you don't want your wedding day tainted. This guy only cares about your money and not if you have an awesome wedding day or not Reviewed on 04-10-2016
Anonymous (wedding party)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-10-2017 I hate that I have to give this venue even one star. They are switch and bait royalty. I attended a wedding on Saturday and they were beyond horrible. The couple paid to have access to the entire property and then Raul randomly decided that over half the property would be closed off. He locked the gate to the petting zoo, which was paid for and would not allow access to. The couple were told they could not have their ceremony outside where they had planned and even was setup. Raul also told them they could not transport the chairs so they had to use chairs from their reception area to create seating during the ceremony. Raul was wearing a cowboy hat, short sleeved shirt, shorts, and crocs at a formal wedding and refused to leave the reception. He was going around bossing the guests around. They charge you for the use of the air conditioner and then tell you when your day has arrived that your not allowed to shut the massive barn doors so the reception halls never cooled off. After charging for A/C Raul went around constantly turning the A/C up. If you want to bring your own A/C units it's $100 each unit. Raul was bitching at the bride. The food that this venue provided was undercooked chicken and crunchy rice. Raul announced at the end of the reception that he was shutting it down early. He and his wife began yelling at guests, the groom, and bride that they needed to pack up quicker. While we were trying to load the last bit of decorations Raul walked up to the bride and told her you need to leave now.The venue while pretty was dirty throughout. The bridal dressing room was dingy and also dirty. It had partly finished projects. Cans of PVC glue just sitting around. The grooms dressing up was the same. The bar and food service areas were filthy and would not pass a health inspection. Finally, Raul and his precious barn reception area is in no way up to code. He has no working sprinkler system. He is operating his venue illegaly. There is more to this fiasco, but I feel you get the gist. He was so terrible that the employees, that were left at the end of the night that Raul didn't fire during the reception because they sided with the bride and groom, quit at the end of the night, including their wedding planner. I was considering this venue for my upcoming nuptials, but after what I saw it will take my $20,000 somewhere else. I would encourage everyone to spend their money elsewhere. They do not deserve one read sent of an individual hard earned money. They will only take the magical memory you are trying to create an destroy it. Reviewed on 16-08-2016

Terri Marie De Leon(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-06-2016 I would recommend that anything they \"agree\" to do that you fit that into the contract. Print out the contract the day you sign it, do not just think that the digital one you sign is enough. I reviewed what my wife and I signed and it was different from what the owner presented to me the day before our wedding. We had to pay additional fees for bringing in outside port a coolers. Additionally, we were promised that our wedding planner was going to set up our center pieces the day of the wedding and the night before at rehearsal they said if they set them up for us it would be an additional charge. Also, if you select to use the wedding planner be prepared to end up looking for vendors all on your own. The owner lurks around the wedding the entire night and when we would ask when it was time to cut the cake, dollar dance, etc.. he would say let me find Michelle. The venue it self was gorgeous which is a shame because the people that own it care more about how to make money versus making your day as smooth as can be. Reviewed on 20-07-2016
