Reading Farms Estate lies in Reading, VT, in the heart of the Green Mountains. The Estate is a private 400-acre estate with over five miles of manicured hiking trails. Owned by the same family for over a century, the residence boasts a rich architectural, social, and cultural past. Former guests include Coco Chanel, Laurance Rockefeller, and numerous dukes and duchesses. You are always welcome to view our countless photo albums of their wonderful stays at Reading Farms. Four seasons of country living can be enjoyed at the property, as the ever-changing landscape provides continuous delight. Reading Farms Estate epitomizes elegance and country style. Over-night accommodations are available for up to 46 people using every pillow in every mattress in all three different buildings (main house, theater, living space barn). Depending on your guess, a comfortable adult group would be 30. All wedding vendors at this venue are subcontracted.

My wife and I got married at Reading Farms in August 2023, with 20 friends staying with us onsite. In short, we were wowed by Arturo and Stephen’s hospitality and attention to detail throughout the weekend—and our friends LOVED Arturo! The property is nothing short of spectacular, and Arturo excelled at coordinating with our vendors throughout the weekend. One of many examples that speak to the team’s responsiveness throughout the weekend: it rained twice right before our ceremony, and the team thoroughly dried off every seat for our guests both times and helped our ceremony go off without a hitch despite the delay. They were unflappable and true professionals. We had an after party in the barn; one huge bonus of Reading Farms’ acreage is being able to party late! While having a wedding at Reading Farms does involve abiding by a fair number of guidelines/ rules, these rules are reflective of Arturo and Stephen’s care for the property. We planned carefully to make sure we wouldn’t incur any unforseen costs, and it was well worth it; we had a magical weekend. Thank you to Arturo, Stephen, Chef Richard, and the whole On Thyme/Reading Farms staff for your help in making that weekend so special for all involved!

On a cool summer day we had our wedding at Reading Farms. It was so beautiful! One thing we really loved about RFE is the privacy. We were the only guests on property. We had 150 guests and they all loved the property.

My husband and I got married at a gorgeous private estate. We decided to book RFE for it’s flexibility, peaceful and intimate settings.Our guest count was 80 which 30 of our closest family and friends stayed on the property. The newly renovated and updated inside of the buildings are amazing!They also have their own personal chef and wedding coordinator, so everything was really easy to put together.Staff is very friendly and helpful, ready to assist at any time of the wedding process. If you are looking for a not cookie cutter venue with no restrictions, this is definitely the place you want to be!

My husband and I had a micro wedding with our closest family and a few friends at Reading Farms Estate in October 2021. I originally found the place on VRBO but was happy to find out that they were a full-service venue. We had an incredibly short engagement period of 2 months (!!) due to the availability of the venue - but because the venue also served as lodging for all of our 35 guests, as well as the caterer and rental supplier it really took a lot of stress out of planning a quickie wedding. The space was incredible with views you can't get anywhere else. We rented the property for a long weekend and really were able to take advantage of everything. We had our dog and a lot of kids with us, so the hiking trail on the property was thoroughly enjoyed. I was initially anxious about the booking because it was all happening so fast but the staff put us at ease and really made the weekend one for the memory books. Their thoughtful touches were very appreciated. They even drove my elderly grandmother up the (small) hill up to the house following our reception and surprised us with popcorn at the house one night when our campfire was rained out.
